Audience Questionnaire Results
We asked 10 people to fill out a questionnaire to gain research in to what our target audience likes and also
gain feedback on our basic idea that we have come up with. 8 of these people were male and the remaining 2
were female, the ages ranged from 17-18. This wasn’t the best mix as it wasn’t equal and there wasn’t much
range within age groups, however they still come under our target audience of 16-25 year olds.

We firstly asked what their favourite
Favourite Genre of Music genre of music was so this could
reflect on the results, for example if
                        pop, 3 r&b, 3
their favourite was hip hop then they
3 may not enjoy our song choice of idea
       Rock, 2 indie, 2
2 hip-hop, 2 of a music video. The results were
extremely varied which I think could
   1
infact improve our results as it means
   0 metal, 0
                                                          other, 0
there is a variety of likes and dislikes
Rock indie between them. Also the genre of the
pop r&b metal song we chose is Indie Pop. Pop and
                                               hip-hop other
Indie were among the most popular
so we thought this was helpful with
the feedback. One problem we had with this question was that people circled more than one making our
  results slightly un reliable.

Have You Heard The Song?Heard The second question we asked was simply have you heard of
the the song. 7 had and the remaining 3 had not. These were good
                  No song…
30% results as the majority had heard of it so they could give us
good feedback as they would be able to picture our song with
our idea. Also I quite liked how 3 people hadn’t heard it, this
                             Yes
70% meant it was still quite an original song choice and isn’t too
                                              cliché and popular.

The next question was if they had heard it, what did they think of it. The answers to this were varied.
Three people said it goes on for a bit and was quite boring whereas another said it was upbeat and
fun. I believe from this feedback we have to ensure our video is extremely interesting and exciting to
change the negative views towards the song. Another said it was their favourite song and had deep
meaning, this helped as it made us think more about the meaning of our video and making sure our
music video shows meaning and memories clearly.
For the next part of the questionnaire we wrote a short summary of what our music video is about and then
asking for feedback from this to gain some idea in to if our idea is successful or not.

9/10 people said they liked our idea, unfortunately the person that said they didn’t, did not give any feedback
as to why this was. Some of the feedback included:

‘I think your interpretation of the words is unique’

‘fun and entertaining, different stuff to look at’

‘people can relate to the time at the landmarks’

Also we asked specifically for negative feedback and ways we could improve, 3 people said that we should use
one main character that lip syncs and appears in the video within the memories. Also many people said to use
lots of locations to keep the audience attention.

After looking at the feedback we received, we realised how important research with the target audience is.
From this we now need to ensure that our music video isn’t boring and doesn’t drag on like others have said
the music does, making sure it is upbeat and interesting. Also we weren’t originally going to have anyone
singing to the music but after this questionnaire we have decided this is important and this is what people
want to see.

The results were extremely varied which I think could 1 infact improve our results as it means 0 metal, 0 other, 0 there is a variety of likes and dislikes Rock indie between them. Also the genre of the pop r&b metal song we chose is Indie Pop. Pop and hip-hop other Indie were among the most popular so we thought this was helpful with the feedback.
