This proposal is for a fashion magazine targeted at teenagers aged 16-22. The magazine will feature celebrities on the cover wearing bold outfits to appeal to fans and promote a competition to win the celebrity's clothes. The inside will include exclusive news about celebrities to attract fans as well as photos of celebrities going about their daily lives. Research will be conducted on whether photos should have plain or realistic backgrounds. Evaluation of the magazine will involve critical analysis from initial research through completion and getting outside opinions on whether others would purchase it to improve the final product for the FMP. This process aims to help develop working practices for future study and career.

Audience:
My audience is going to be older/middle teenagers for example 16-22yr olds as this is who I feel
would be more attracted to the style of my magazine aswell as the point of it, in my opinion I won’t
have a specific gender that I will aim towards as I feel that anyone can like this type of magazine
therefore I don’t need to aim to just one specific gender. I think that my audience will be a
balanced/totally integrated psychographic as this is a group of mixed achievers therefore it won’t
be all the same people and they like to achieve and win, I will appeal to this audience as I will put a
competition in my magazine cover so that everyone has a chance to win something this will also
appeal to the younger side of my audience as they most likely won’t have a lot of money therefore
it gives them a chance to win something expensive that they couldn’t normally have.

Rationale (approx. 100 words)
In my opinion I think that I have acquired some specific skills that will help me with this project and
many others for example with the advergame I got to find my way around Photoshop and find out
what was possible and how it was possible for example in my advergame at the beginning I used
pictures of the internet to trace around them so that I could have a good idea about what to do and
from this I figured out how to use the magic wand tool to get rid of the background and how to put
layers on top of other layers and I think this helped me in the Photoshop aspect. I also think that
using the cameras to film the irn bru advert helped me when it came to the cameras and so that I
could find my way around them easier.

Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
The concept for my idea is a fashion related magazine with a celebrity/ music twist for example a
fashion based magazine but with an icon on the front that will attract more people and represent
the brand and clothes, for my front cover I’m going to have a ‘celebrity’ on the front wearing a bold
outfit with lots of fashion statements around him/her I think this is good as for the audience
especially if they know the celeb then they are more likely to buy it. I will also include big banners
that promote a competition that you could win some clothes that the celebrity was wearing
therefore they have had chance to see them, I think that this will appeal to my audience well, for
the double page spread I will also have the celeb on one page and some writing on the other , I will
include some exclusive news as I think this will attract the fans of the celebrities more however it
will add to the exclusive magazine as I don’t just want it to be a simple fashion magazine. For my
magazine I will need to research about the photo aspect as I don’t know if it would be better with a
plain background like a studio or more a photo of them actually living there life and more realistic
therefore I will need to research which one is more popular and would attract my audience more.

When it comes to the evaluation I will be very critical with everything I have done from the research
to the actual making of the product as I want it to be as good as possible and I am wanting to do
this for my FMP therefore I will take everything into consideration and analyse it thoroughly I will
also get other people opinion to see if they would actually buy it as I have created it therefore I
won’t pick up on things that other people don’t like about it.
How do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation (Production
Reflections) and your final self-reflection (Evaluation), analysing your work and its outcomes.
