Black Jewelz began writing rap lyrics at a young age and found rap to be an important outlet for self-expression. He was inspired by rappers like Tupac, Eminem, Nas, and Jay-Z. After reading Tupac's book, he began writing poetry as well. In his teens, he struggled with drugs, violence, and legal trouble but turned his life around and has since dedicated himself to his music career, performing widely and releasing several albums and mixtapes to critical acclaim.
