Working Title:
Music magazine
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Audience:
My audience is going to be more aimed toward Male due to the fact that I have some violence
topics in it and more males prefer this type of genre but females can buy it too because it is a
music magazine which are not gender specific but some types of bands are, for example if I
choose rock that is more likely to be boys. The age I have decided for my audience is teenagers
between the ages 15-24, I have chosen this as my audience because it is the audience age that
listens to music the most so it is not meant for children but also this is the main audience age
range which does not buy magazines, that is more adults so I am going to have to include
something in it to make it appealable to teens. The social grade of the people buying my magazine
is D/working class, this is due to the fact that because they are teenagers they are not going to
have a big job with a lot of money so I am going to have to make the magazine cheap.
The psychographic for my game is Needs driven, this group act upon impulse and instinct. This
group does not plan and will respond to messages relating to missing opportunities and impulse
buying, I chose this because I thought most people of this age range are impulse buyers. My game
will not be geodemographic due to the fact that it is everywhere and it relates to most people
because bands are globally known. The aim of my magazine is too be very relaxing and enjoyable.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
During this year I have made a not made a magazine or website before but I did make a magazine
last year, I have learned how to use Photoshop and draw in pixels and animate using timelines. I
have learned how to make walk cycle animations and to make videos move more smoothly and I
will not use these whilst taking pictures and making posters. I have also learned how to make 2D
objects seem more 3D which may come to use for this new project because I can better improve
images. My previous projects involved will help me with some tasks such as the layout of a double
page and how to get good looking images, I have made a website before but it was a long time
ago so I cannot really remember what to do however I’m sure it will come back to me. I did a
gaming magazine previously so I should make something different to widen my knowledge and
broaden my perspective. Not many skills I have learned will come to help with this task so I am
going to go on YouTube and look up new tutorials as well as getting help from other sources.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
The concept of my project is to entertain; the magazine is going to be about music, although I am
still yet unsure about a genre. However, I need this genre to be easy to talk about for me and I
need to enjoy it. I shall be placing images of different instruments as well as bands/models
throughout my magazine. On my front cover, I would like to introduce my audience to something
different by maybe having the photos more natural like on that dog magazine that I researched this
could be interesting and new and could turn out well. The lighting is key, the lighting will change
depending on what genre I go for, if I went with rock I would go darker, or pop would be much
lighter. I need my pictures to relate to the audience and not be stressful and instead be fun, chill
and relaxed. In my double page article, I will probably go for a layout of a photo on one side and
articles on the other this seems like a good layout and many well-known magazines use it. The
web page is going to have many colours to be as visually pleasing as possible.
What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make?
What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project/
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
For evaluating, I plan to write about the processes I went through after every day of production, I
will also write about how I think it looks and any strengths and weaknesses/improvements that I
would make. Another way of evaluating will be my progress diary, which I write at the end of every
week about everything I have done and learned in detail, and include images as well to reference.
The final part of a project is evaluating, I will self-evaluate the whole project in detail. This will help
me to improve and make things better when I move on to making another project.
