The Importance Of Charter School
Another issue will an all charter school district is parent involvement. There are so many different
types of parents: some take initiative and others do not. Would parents who normally do not take a
notice in their child s life take any interest in researching which charter school they would like their
child to go to if the district was made solely of charter schools? William Jeynes (2009) argues that
parents may not have sufficient information about the options available to make the most prudent
[choice] for their child because of their financial position (p. 11). Cambridge, Massachusetts has
transformed its school district into a public school choice program where parents can choose which
public school to send their child to. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The savings accounts would essentially lift some, if not most, of the financial burden of a child s
education from a parent. As Jeynes pointed out though, how are we going to make sure parents know
this resource is available to them? It obviously cannot be utilized if parents do not know about it. If
parents were aware and took advantage of the saving accounts, they would have access to funds for
transportation that Jeynes stated could be problematic. Yet again, one of the major controversy s
surrounding the bill is that it would pull funding out of the state s public schools to be put into charter
or private schools. How is that going to affect students in public schools who do not want to go to a
charter or private school? Unfortunately, I do not think the affects will be felt in full strength until it is
almost too late to pass legislation to fix the situation and pull schools out of their holes. The part of the
Education Freedom Savings Accounts that I think is a great benefit to all is the funding for tutoring
and testing services. Forming a solid educational foundation is necessary in order to grow later in one
s education. Perhaps if a child had that little bit of extra help from a tutor early in the process of
learning how to read, his/her life could be completely different today. Investing in one on one
assistance outside of the classroom is a great way to be more sensitive to the desires of parents and
child which is what the notion

Life In Missoula, Montana
Life in Reno, Nevada vs. LIfe in Missoula, Montana I have been living in Reno for my entire life. I ve
grown accustomed to everything it has to offer, and I am comfortable in Reno. But in June, when my
life switches from suburban life to a lush, green, 20 acre property, I am going to notice that Reno and
Missoula have similarities, but my life will be very, very different. Let s start with the size of the
towns. In Reno, the population is 245,255 people and counting. Reno is 106 square miles, giving it a
population density of 2,313 people per square mile. In Missoula, on the other hand, has 72,364 people.

In Reno, I see sagebrush as far as the eye can see. Blue mountains in some of the background, brown
mountains in other parts. The weather is incredibly unpredictable, but I usually expect dry, hot
summers and snowy (but not too snowy), chilly winters. In Montana, especially in the summer, you
can look around from our property and see green grass, tall pine trees, a beautiful fork of Nine Mile
Creek, and a big blue sky. I can expect more mellow, humid summers and freezing cold, snowy
winters. In Reno, my animal sightings usually include bunnies, birds, and the occasional deer or
coyote. In Montana, you can see bears, elk, antelope, and even moose, right from our house. Overall,
the summer climate in Montana is usually more desirable, though some people may prefer the winters

Access Of Nuclear Power Facilities
Access to nuclear power facilities was tightly controlled, yet nonetheless in the wake of 9/11 the
potential for sabotage was intensely debated. In a January 2002 speech, Chairman Meserve maintained
that sabotage prevention had been an important part of the NRC s regulatory activities and our
licensees responsibilities... for decades... And it has been augmented since September 11 (Meserve,
2002a, p. 1). Yet scarcely three months before, a nuclear plant in Michigan discovered that a
contractor employee who had been given unescorted access permission to protected areas of the plant
had been dismissed from a former employer for using illegal drugs (Korte, 2001, p. 3). Two weeks
before Meserve s speech, a report was filed to the NRC that a Perry Nuclear Power Plant contractor
employee had obtained unescorted access to the plant after deliberately lying about his criminal
history (Pederson, 2002, p. 1). While his words to the National Press Club were brave enough,
Meserve clearly understood the problems he faced; he had no qualms with telling Tom Ridge a year
after 9/11 that, enhancing access control may be one of the most effective means of preventing a
successful attack, because an insider could provide significant assistance to an attacking force
(Meserve, 2002c, p. 1). The National Nuclear Security Administration agreed with Meserve, asserting
that, almost all known cases of theft of nuclear material involved an insider. The threat of a nuclear
facility insider, either

Anxiety And Mood Disorder Analysis
Anxiety and mood disorders are psychiatric problems characterized by a feeling of apprehensiveness
about a probable future danger and alterations in mood over a long period of time respectively
(Butcher, Hooley, Mineka, 2016). Both disorders are associated with reasonable impairment, distress,
mortality, and morbidity especially in children.
One of the factors causing an alarming increase in the diagnosis of mood and anxiety disorders in the
recent past is the increased incidence of psychopathology (John Stirling, 2013). This phenomenon out
rightly underpins the disease progress since psychiatric disorders have a high level of comorbidity
(DeRubeis Strunk, 2017). Alcohol and drug abuse are often reported in conjunction with mood and

Sage Research Paper
Sage
Sage is a relative to the mint family. It is common for Sage to be ground, whole or rubbed but is
generally in more of a coarse grain. Sage is grown in the United States but is also grown in Albania
and Dalmatia. Sage is a very popular herb in the United States and is used quite frequently for
flavoring such things s sausage, pork, lamb, and other meats, salads, pickles, cheese, and stuffing. The
smell of Sage is very aromatic and distinct.
Sage loves to hang around in the kitchen with Thyme, Rosemary, and Basil. They work very well
together. Sage is normally one of the main herbs in stuffing for poultry but is often added to lamb and
pork dishes as well. Sage is very strong and should be used sparingly as a little goes a long way. Sage,
like many other herbs develops its full flavor the longer it cooks and withstands lengthy cooking times

Today, Sage has no medicinal purposes to speak of but back in a different time Sage was used
regularly to cure snake bites and was also used to invigorate the body and cleanse the mind. In the
middle ages it was quite common for people to make a Sage tea and drink it for ailments such as
colds, fever, liver trouble, and epilepsy.
Although there is nothing to solidify these claims it is also said that a chewed Sage leaf applied to a
sting or an insect bite will reduce the sting and bring down the swelling. Sage tea has been said to
soothe a sore throat and also help in drying up a mother s breast milk and also reduces blood clots.
Further it has been known to help with itching skin if it is added to hot bath water. Today, it is mainly

A Brief Look Into The Evolution Of The From Atomic Theory
A Brief Look into the Evolution of DFT from Atomic Theory
Quantum Theory
The idea of atom existed as early as the Greek and Indian civilizations but more as a philosophical
thought rather than a well defined theory based on empirical evidence. Atom was assumed as
something that is indestructible and the smallest component that makes up matter. It took almost 2000
years for the development of modern day atomic theory with proof for the existence of atoms and
further subatomic particles. The archaeological classification of human history as stone age, bronze
age and iron age better depicts the evolution of macroscopic chemistry first. Much later through the
fundamental studies in electromagnetism and blackbody radiation, the discovery and ... Show more

In 1923 De Broglie described the movement of electrons as a wave with an associated wavelength (λ)
related as λ = h/p, where p is the momentum and h is Planck s constant. This hypothesis was
confirmed in experiments and Stern later generalized this behavior to all microscopic particles.
The contradictory nature of wave particle duality, the concept of a non localized wave versus a
localized particle, posed a problem in simultaneous description of position and momentum which was
theorized by Heisenberg in his uncertainty principle. This necessitated a new theory to describe the
non deterministic nature of atomic particles. Erwin Schrodinger in 1926 postulated the concept of a
wave function Ψ(x, t), the state of a system which is a function of particle coordinates, and its change
with time. Max Born dissected wave function and presented |Ψ(x, t)2|dx as the probability of finding a
particle at time t in the region between x and x+dx. Born along with Oppenheimer later proposed a
modification to the wave function separating the nuclear motion from electron motion due to the large
difference in masses. Time independent, non relativistic Schrodinger equation is an eigen value
problem and the solution to the Schrodinger s Equation gives us the wave function. For atoms of
higher atomic number, it becomes cumbersome to solve this equation, how it is handled we will
discuss shortly. Paul Dirac and Linus Pauling contributed more to the development of fundamental

The Church Of King Henry VIII And The English Reformation
The churches of the Anglican Communion have their historical roots in the English Reformation
(Anglican History). The Anglican church originated when King Henry VIII split from the Roman
Catholic Church in 1534 when Pope Clement VII refused to grant the king an annulment.
The following overview derives from the New Catholic Encyclopedia. Henry VIII, the second s son of
King Henry VII, was groomed for ruling the Church during his youth, with a broad education in
theology, music, languages, and poetry. His elder brother was being prepared for the throne, but
passed away from a sudden illness. Henry VIII took over as King, and became engaged to his brother
s widow, Catherine of Aragon. Based on the Old Testaments ban on marrying the widow of your
brother, King Henry VIII became concerned his marriage was cursed by God. He petitioned Pope
Clement VII for a papal annulment, but the Pope immediately rejected the annulment. In 1531, he
compelled the English clergy to accept him as head of the church of England, leading the Parliament
to pass a series of laws depriving the Roman Catholic Church of any authority in England. King
Henry VIII received the same legal authority over the English Church that the Pope operated over the
Roman Catholic Church. Following this, Kind Henry VIII married Anne Boleyn, and split his church
from the Roman Catholic Church, forming the original Anglican Church.
The word Anglican originates from the ecclesia anglicana, a medieval Latin phrase that dates back to
1246. The Latin phrase means The English Church. The Church of England traces its history back to
the 2nd century, when Christianity first arrived in Britain. The religion of Anglicanism believes that
there is only one God, but there are three elements of the Divine: God the Father, God the Son, and
God the Holy Spirit. Anglican theology tends to be biblical pastoral and apologetic, rather than
dogmatic of confessional. The valid baptism in the Anglican religion is by water, in the Name of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. People baptized during infancy are expected to reaffirm
their baptismal promise as they get older (Encyclopedia of Religion).
Anglicanism is sometimes called the via media, the middle way,

Pros And Cons Of Gun Control In The United States
Controlling Our Guns is not the Way to go Being a daughter of a game warden and also growing up in
the rural southern parts of Tennessee, I have always been exposed to firearms my entire life. There is a
famous quote that is relevant to gun control, there are no bad guns, only bad men (Squires, 2002).
Placing restrictions on firearms has been one of the biggest political affairs in not only America but
other countries as well. Firearms in America make up $24 billion of our economy, therefore, we can
say that guns play a major role in the U.S. Many people believe implementing gun laws and
regulations seems to be more of a disadvantage than an advantage to our country, because gun control
has failed in places like Ireland and the United Kingdom. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The definition of gun control involves politics, legislation, and how the use of firearms is being
restricted (Charles, 2015). The main arguments over gun control is mainly a relationship between the
state s powers to regulate public order over citizens (Spitzer, 1998). Controlling our guns does not
reduce crime and violence which has been demonstrated by other countries such as Ireland and the
United Kingdom and the United States government should look to those countries as examples. When
the Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution, they wrote it based on justice and what was fair to the
American people. The purpose of the Constitution is to be the law of the land, therefore, it establishes
and maintains order for that provides a guiding hand for citizens (Spitzer, 1998). Laws banning
firearms would only be followed by the law abiding. Citizens living in the United States have had
access to guns since the beginning when they were used to hunt and gather food and as a mean of
protection. Nowadays, hunting is still a sport enjoyed by millions, who already have many regulations
that they must follow. When the Second Amendment was written, it was meant for everyone is the
United States. Its intentions were for Americans to be able to protect themselves in times of

Reggae, a generic name for all Jamaican popular music since 1960, is defined as a West Indian style of
music with a strongly accented subsidiary beat (Chang). Reggae music is a great style of music that
was popularized by one of the world s most famous musicians, Bob Marley. Personally, I never
listened to it until I made it to college, and it has quickly become one of my favorite genres. For that
reason is why I chose to write this paper on Reggae music. This genre is a very calming and relaxing

how he learned his music and how he became famous. On February 6, 1945 in Saint Ann, Jamaica,
Bob Marley was born. His father was a white Englishman and his mother was a black Jamaican. When
Marley was ten years old his father died, and at that point his mother moved him to Kingston s
Trechtown neighborhood. As a teenager in Kingston he became friends with Bunny Wailer and this is
when Marley learned to play music. When Marley was 14 years old he decided to drop out of school
so he could learn the welding trade, and at the same time he spent his spare time jamming with Bunny
and Ska musician Joe Higgs. In 1962 Bob had recorded his first two singles but neither one of them
had received any interest at the time. The following year he began a Ska band with his friend Bunny
and Peter Tosh, which was originally called The Teenagers . They then became known as The Wailing
Rudeboys and after a few more name changes they eventually came up with simply The Wailers. In
1964 they came out with their earliest Studio One hit which was recorded in the popular rock steady
style, Simmer Down. Following that track they came out with another hit in 1965 that was entitled
Soul Rebel in which both songs were written by Marley. In 1966 Marley married Rita Anderson, they

Cyber Security Operation Centers ( Soc )
Security Operation Centers (SOC) are established in order to defend and protect their constituents
from illusive and perilous threats. Cyber Security Operation Centers (CSOC) have a more difficult
role to play with their adversaries cloaking themselves with online aliases and high anonymity
proxies. With technology racing at a lightning speed, CSOCs have no time to waste reaching their Full
Operational Capability, bringing them to be completely capable detecting, analyzing and mitigating
crises that their promised constituents face. Cyber Security Operation Centers play a much larger role
than simply incident response; depending on what CSOCs define their mission to be, CSOCs can be
created to handle and cyber security related task. This breadth makes what they define as Full
Operational Capability (FOC) as broad as their networks reach. Reaching Full Operational Capability
is not a simple task, and many SOCs fail to reach FOC, much less in their designed time period. Initial
Operational Capability is the minimum point where a SOC can start caring out the mission to the bare

their minimum capabilities, but the road to Full Operational Capability is paved with challenges and

Characteristics Of The Tiger
In The Jungle Book, the tiger named Shere Khan plays the villain. Although the movie makes the tiger
look evil, it s actually just a normal animal trying to survive in the wild like any other. Tigers are one
of the biggest cats and they are carnivores. They have a territorial behavior and they are sadly
endangered. Adult tigers are huge. They are 2.3 to 4 feet tall. Tigers also weigh a lot. A male tiger
weighs 200 to 670 pounds. Female tigers weigh from 140 to 370 pounds. Cubs can weigh 2.2 pounds
at birth. As Whitfield puts it The largest of the big cats, the tiger has a massive, muscular body and
powerful limbs. (pg 147). Tigers are massive animals. Tigers also have long bodies. A male s body
length is from 8.2ft to 13ft. Females can be as long as 6.6 to 9ft. They can live from 20 to 26 years.
Tigers can have two to four cubs every two years. Also according to the WWF On average, tigers give
birth to two to four cubs every two years. If all the cubs in one litter die, a second litter may be
produced within five months. (WWF,2017) . Tigers are known as one of the largest cats in the world.
Also they are orange with black stripes, kind of like a zebra, but a zebra is white. No two tigers will
have the same number of markings on their coats. Since, a tiger is a large cat, they will need to eat a
lot of meat. According to Amelia Meyers in her website tigers.org, tigers have 30 teeth, which...help

How Nurses Can Best Support Patients With Patients
Estimates are that 20 50% of patients do not adhere to prescribed medication regimens and that this
nonadherence may be responsible for up to 10 percent of all hospitalizations.1 Preparing patients to
manage their medications upon returning home from the hospital is a critical component to illness
management and preventing readmission to the hospital. Patients who report they are unprepared to
care for themselves after discharge from the hospital are likely to be readmitted.2 Readmission to the
hospital is associated with increased cost,3 and increased risk for mortality4. Thus, understanding how
nurses can best support patients to self manage their medications is imperative.

Furthermore, collaborative communication that emphasizes shared decision making between provider
and patient is associated with patient activation and medication adherence.7,8 The purpose of this
research is to examine the relationships of hospital inpatients perceptions of nurse communication and
patients understanding of their prescribed medications to begin to build a framework for interventions
to support patients medication self management.
Background
Medication adherence is simply defined as the extent to which patients follow prescribed medication
recommendations.9 Adherence includes taking medication the way it is prescribed (right dose, right
time, right route, right person), whereas medication management requires patients to understand their
medication (purpose, dose, frequency, how to take it, side effects) as well as developing habits to
remember to take the medications within the context of their daily lives. Actually managing
medications is a relatively more complex process and can be influenced by patient activation, beliefs
about medications, side effects,10 multiple daily dosing, complex regimens,10 polypharmacy,10 and
communication with the healthcare team. Self care management includes treatment adherence
(following instructions) as well as symptom management and daily life management,11 Therefore,

A joint venture with Sony allows a large R amp;D division focusing on mobile, which is vital to
ensure its network business stays in touch with consumer demands. Sony has a strong reputation on
the domain of digital and audio technology. However, Sony was a marginal player in the handset
industry with 2% of market share. Previous attempts to enter the US and European markets both failed
due to poor knowledge on mobile technology. Sony was too slow to move away from its traditional
businesses such as music stereos, televisions, VCR and DVD, hence a partner who could provide
expertise knowledge was needed. Joint ventures have further benefits. Joint ventures are based on
sharing individual ability and resources for the purpose of achieving a mutually beneficial objective.
Sony gains access to Ericsson s market share and their network of infrastructure and handset
technology. Ericsson can acquire Sony s experience on consumer electronics, fashionable designs and
production processes. Hence, the joint venture overcomes Sony s low market share and strengthens
Ericsson s ability of research and product development. Thus joint ventures resolve the opportunism
issue with OEM, licensing and franchising. In addition, both companies gain access to foreign
markets. Joint ventures allow Sony to get back to global business by

Aquaculture Is The Cultivation Of Sea Creatures ( Finfish...
Background What is Aquaculture? Aquaculture is the wide term used to describe the cultivation of sea
creatures. An example of aquaculture is fish farming. In Canada, the activities of aquaculture are
practised in all provinces. However, if we look at the species each province produces (Figure 1 1),
operations of coastal provinces have more variety on what they produce. It is easy to see why
operations are more focused on the top producers in Canada: British Columbia, New Brunswick, and
Newfoundland and Labrador (Figure 1 2). What type of economic activity does aquaculture provide?
Essentially, aquaculture is considered as a primary industry in the economic sector. This means that
aquaculture s main service is the production of goods, in this case, aquatic life. Aquaculture is unique

West Nile Virus is a Serious Mosquito-born Virus Essay
West Nile virus is a very serious mosquito borne virus. This virus is known to affect mostly the people
in North America. It is also known to break up during the summer time and extends toward fall. The
virus was introduced into the Western Hemisphere during 1999 later summer and has been causing
significant and at times severe human diseases ever since that time (Colpitts et al., 2014).
The virus is commonly found in Africa, Middle East, and West Asia. It may have entered the United
States in an infected mosquito, bird, or traveler. Between 1999 and 2005, WNV caused 19,602 cases
of the disease in the United States, including 785 deaths, according to the Centers for Disease Control

West Nile Virus affects both our local communities and state communities. If the communities are
filled with infected mosquitoes that can cause these viruses, these mosquitoes can travel to other
mosquitoes, then to other states. For example if a community have stagnant water, the people in the
community will be at risk of getting the virus. People who are infected can also pass in on to other
people. Communities can reduce their risk of having the West Nile Virus by take some precautions
like the following:
Getting rid of old tires, bottles, tin cans or any container that can hold water.
Keeping drains and ditches free of trash and weeds so water can drain properly.
Keeping ruff gutter free.
Covering trash containers.
Keeping grass cut short.
Unused pools should be drained and kept dry especially during mosquito season.
(Illinois Department of Public Health, 2008)
Illinois has had many cases of the West Nile Virus resulting in more than 800 cases and more than 60
deaths in the year 2002 (idph, 2008). This outbreak occurred during one summer with above normal
temperatures, the summers that followed were much cooler than normal so there were fewer cases of
the virus (idph, 2008). The public health agencies can educate state and local communities on things
like the temperature to be most careful of the virus.

Exploration Of The Clarity Of Nature In Jon Krakauer s...
Postadolescent fog: Krakauer s Exploration of the Clarity of Nature in Into the Wild In the novel Into
the Wild, Jon Krakauer examines many of the theories relating to as why the protagonist, Chris
McCandless decided to venture into the Alaska wilderness. In doing so, he reflects upon his
motivation to climb as well as how his childhood affected these motivations. Krakauer describes this
awkward phase in his life as a thick postadolescent fog (134). While it seems ordinary for someone to
go through this transitional period in which they are entering the threshold of adulthood, the way in
which Krakauer overcomes it is not ordinary. He turns to mountain climbing as a form of escapism
and uses nature as a coping mechanism. Krakauer s reassurance from the effects of climbing is
important because it reveals a reliance on the purity of nature and it s freedom from external opinions.
In response to the claims of McCandless s Alaskan journey being a suicide mission, Krakauer reflects
upon the speculations of McCandless s decisions through a more personal lens. Krakauer finds
resemblance among himself and McCandless through their aversion towards their own parental
figures. While reflecting on these late teenage years, Krakauer describes his postadolescent as a
thick...fog, and he has many implications behind this description (134). Fog hinders the visibility of a
person and makes it challenging to see into the distance. By using the metaphor of the fog, Krakauer

Introduction And History Of Langmuir Monolayers ( Lms )
Introduction and History of Langmuir Monolayers
The study of Langmuir Monolayers (LMs) has greatly increased in the last few decades, which has
furthered our understanding as well as appreciation for these simple yet valuable structures. This is
partly due to LMs being recognized as extremely important tools in the study of complex subjects
such as, but not limited to: biochemistry, biomedical research, and polymerization. Although each of
these subjects is unique in its own discipline, they all gain further insight with development of new
molecular structures, to which LMs provide the perfect template. If LMs were able to form unique

Franklin decided to test this theory while on another trip with one of his colleagues (1). He and
colleague passed by a small pond which was producing waves on the surface (1). This gave the water
a rippled appearance, an ideal testing situation for Franklin. He dropped a small amount of oil on the
water surface and was shocked to find that the oil had an immediate calming effect on a large portion
of the water s surface(1). Additionally, he noted that the oil spread itself over a large area as opposed
to staying in one isolated spot (1). What Franklin had documented was the creation of what can now
be referred to as a LM as well as noting the effects of hydrophobicity on a hydrophilic surface. Other
great scientists who continued Franklins work in this field were Lord Raleigh and Agnes Pockels, both
of who came from vastly different backgrounds, but recognized the importance of being able to
calculate a molecules thickness (1). They later discovered methods of calculating the thickness of the
oil that was dispensed on water by examining the drop in surface tension when a certain volume of oil
was deposited on a water surface (1). Lastly, the most notable scientist in the field of surface science
and the founding expert of Langmuir Monolayers, Irving Langmuir. He was a famous American

Secondhand Smoking Research Paper
There is an irrefutable correlation between the increasing effects of secondhand smoke on the health
and well being of human beings that are constantly in the vicinity of smokers. Evidently, secondhand
smoking has undeniably become problematic for a plethora of intense, health altering reasons that
include but are not limited to diseases and early death that are caused to nonsmokers by secondhand
exposure from the burning of tobacco. Even the smallest, briefest amount of secondhand exposure
causes immediate health implications. Laws that prohibit smoking in public places have been proven
to directly improve the health of people in those areas. Secondhand smoking causes an increased risk
for heart disease, stroke, SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome), asthma, and lung cancer. Annually,
over 45,000 nonsmokers die from implications brought about by secondhand smoking. 34,000 of these
deaths are deaths from heart disease, 8,000 from stroke, and 7,300 from lung cancer. People of lower

The Devastation Of The Hurricane Katrina
In the history of the United States of America, Hurricane Katrina was known as one of the worst
hurricanes in the world. The hurricane was a combination of tropical waters and gushing winds. It was
the vicious hurricane that caused severe damage to the citizens of the United States of America. The
amazing city known for its southern style, Cajun cuisines, jazz music and its celebration of Mardi
Gras will never be the same. New Orleans, Louisiana was changed forever in August 2005 when this
category five hurricane left the city devastated. The catastrophic storm tore through the city of New
Orleans and surrounding areas destroying everything in its path and killing hundreds of people.
For millions of people living near the Gulf and Atlantic coasts of the United States, a team of weather
experts in Miami were helping make a difference between another hurricane disaster and safe
evacuations in the wake of the oncoming storm. These experts are trained to interpret data from
satellites, weather stations and specialized computer equipment to give the public advance warning of
hurricanes barreling toward any shores (Treaster, 2007, p. 26).
In August 2005, the national weather and the national hurricane center issued reports during the
upcoming week on the strength and fast pace as it approached the Gulf of Mexico (Treaster, 2007, p.

Feminism Is A Conflict Theory
In this essay it will assess to what extent feminism has added to our understanding of society.
Firstly, Feminism is a conflict theory that believes that all religions are instruments set up by men to
oppress women with the set of beliefs and practices. There are many different branches of feminism;
the ones being evaluated are called Liberal, Radical and Marxist feminists. Feminists believe that
society is malestream and not mainstream as people believe. The first main flaw in feminist theory is
the fact that feminists only examine society from the viewpoint of women, they do this because they
believe they are in fact helping fight against the oppression of women but the problem is that they do
not examine the views of many male counterparts and therefore cannot help us completely understand
our society. The main differentiation between the different feminist theories is the way that the
oppression against women is caused. Firstly, Liberal feminist are focused on human and civil rights
and freedom of individuals, to summarise, they believe that all humans should have equal rights
within their society. They believe that society changing itself to help women does not happen. Liberal
feminists believe the status of women changing can become a reality if laws that are oppressing for
women change because it would create more opportunities for women to prove that they are equal to
men. Oakley explains a difference between sex and gender. Oakley believes sex differences are set

Police Brutality And The Law Enforcement
Police Brutality The duties of law enforcement involve looking after the American people. As the Los

Americans, we should expect to be able to rely on local police to solve our problems and bring peace

Since the late 1960s, America has begun to grow from a racially segregated nation, into one of unity

Recently, the public has begun to once again rise up against such heinous crimes that seem to hail
from an era before civil rights.
Police brutality notoriously rose during the 1990s. The most guilty of this was the Los Angeles Police
Department. After the introduction of crack cocaine plagued the streets of American cities, Los
Angeles took the initiative of upgrading its CRASH Unit (Community Resources Against Street
Hoodlums). By April 1988, nearly 1,567 minorities were arrested on just one weekend, yet about 10%
of these arrests actually led to felony convictions. By 1998, the CRASH unit was embroiled once
again in a scandal known as the Rampart Scandal. More than seventy officers assigned to the Rampart
Division were accused of strong police misconduct. These officers were accused of targeting
minorities and planting evidence on these victims, framing them to higher their positions in the LAPD.

attention to an officer stationed there and proceed to pursue King. After attempting to outrun police,
King was eventually cornered by police. What would be expected to be a quick arrest after being

Divorce
Introduction
Divorce is a legal action between to married people to end their marriage (Meyer, 2015). Divorce is a
social problem in today s society; it has become an epidemic (Alwin McCammon, 2003). In fact, it is
very common for couples to get divorce (Alwin McCammon, 2003). There are several types of
divorce: at fault, no fault divorce and summary divorce (Meyer, 2015). No fault divorce requires
neither husband nor wife to obtain divorce; reasons are commonly known as incompatibility,
irreconcilable differences and irremediable breakdown of marriage (Meyer, 2015). Divorcees can
transfer individual income if all assets were kept separate or income gained during the marriage
(Uunk, 2004). This type of policy helps with the financial consequences that divorce has (Uunk,
2004).
Today, getting married seems to be an old way of thinking (Amato Hohmann Marriott, 2007). Social
influences by the media have encouraged the idea of betrayal and dissolvent of marriage (Rosenfeld,
2014). Internet site have blogs about the thrill of cheating on your partner (Rosenfeld, 2014). Cultural
differences have also influenced marriage (Rosenfeld, 2014). Studies have shown there is a correlation
between social media and the increase in divorce (Rosenfeld, 2014).

A Room of One s Own Essay
FOUR
In Chapters Four and Five of A Room of One s Own,, the focus on Women Fiction shifts to a
consideration of women writers, both actual writers and ultimately one of the author s own creation.
The special interest here is one raised earlier in the work: the effect of tradition on women s writing.
Woolf believes that women are different from men both in their social history as well as inherently,
and that each of these differences has had important effects on the development of women s writing.
Women writers, this is to say, have been treated differently from men because they were women; and
this has affected how they developed.
Furthermore, Woolf maintains, women writers are different from men writers because they are

For women, the narrator contends, here begins the freedom of the mind, the possibility that in the
course of time one will be able to write whatever one likes. With Mrs. Behn, writing by women cased
to be a sign of folly and became an activity of practical importance. Money dignifies what is frivolous
if unpaid for she observes, and Mrs. Behn s success in the Seventeenth Century led to very many
women earning money through writing in the Eighteenth Century.
These women became the necessary forerunners of the successful women writers of the early 19th
Century: Jane Austen, the Brontes, and George Eliot.
With the 19th Century writers, one can begin to consider women s writing in a more expanded manner
as a kind of writing that has its own nature based on what it is to be a woman.
First, the narrator wonders why the early 19th century writers were all novelists despite their apparent
differences in temperament. And one answer that she gives focuses on women s common social role.
Functioning at the heart of the family, she observes, women s training inevitably includes the
observation of character and the analysis of emotion. These are faculties women acquire
unconsciously in the course of daily activities and they are more easily put to use in a novel than
elsewhere in fiction.
Domesticity, thus, was not always a disadvantage for women.
However, she goes on to consider, to the extent that women s

Amateur Politicians And The Presidential Election
In all Congressional elections in the United States the incumbent and the challenger can be classified
into one of two groups for each situation. The incumbent can be a strong incumbent, which is an
individual who either won a large percentage of the vote or one who consistently wins in the district
election after election. Many strong incumbents have safe seats in the House of Representative when
they win at least 60% of the vote in an election (Shaffer 10 01 2015). Strong incumbents typically are
not challenged by individuals who have extensive experience in public office. Instead, strong
incumbents are usually challenged by amateur politicians. Amateur politicians are individuals who
may have little or no political experience. Types of amateur politicians include cause politicians, who
are attempting to relay a message on a specific issue on a national platform, celebrity amateurs who
have high name recognition but no previous experience in an elected office, and those individuals who
are either naïve or are businessmen (ex. lawyers) who want to get their name into the public sphere in
order to gain business (Davidson and Oleszek, 2016, 58). A weak incumbent is a representative who
either won by a very small margin or a freshman representative who does not have very much
experience in national elected office, or both (Davidson and Oleszek, 2016, 60). This incumbent is
typically challenged by what is known as a strategic politician. A strategic politician is a strong

CHAPTER I
The PROBLEM AND ITS SCOPE
INTRODUCTION
Rationale of the Study
Job satisfaction is simply how people feel about their jobs and different aspects of their jobs. It is the
extent to which people like (satisfaction) or dislike (dissatisfaction) their jobs. As it is generally
assessed, job satisfaction is an attitudinal variable. In the past, job satisfaction was approached by
some researchers from the perspective of need fulfilment that is, whether or not the job met the
employee s physical and psychological needs for the things provided by work (Cote S., and Morgan
LM, 2002).
In a report on job satisfaction by the National Center for Education Statistics (2003) revealed many

Taking in to account that most of these teachers are working away from their home and family and
could only go home weekly, or the least once a month due to the distance of the schools they are
assigned.
However, districts located in the hinterland such as Paquibato, had most number of teacher applicants
every year. Reason of this scenario could be the fact that many teachers are applying for transfer to the
nearby schools after a one or two years of service and that applicant could be hired easily.
Nevertheless, some teachers had tenured in this district up to their retirement period and some had
flourished and raised their professional status and positions.
The ground for conducting this study is that it is intended to shed light on what influences how
teachers feel about their work and profession so that positive job related attitudes may be cultivated.
Theoretical Background
The Maslow s hierarchy of needs theory, a motivation theory, laid the foundation for job satisfaction
theory. It is founded in the premise that goals or needs underpin by being the fundamental source of all
desires.
This theory explains that people seek to satisfy five specific needs in life physiological needs, safety
needs, social needs, self esteem needs, and self actualization. In the levels of the five basic needs, the
person does not feel the second need until the demands of the first

adaptations of William Shakespeare s tragic play, Othello as well as the dangers of Jealousy in his film
on certain characters.
Mr. Parker, your film has been critiqued for focusing so heavily on jealousy. How did you manage to
portray the idea of jealousy as a theme in your film?
I have represented jealousy in the film, as one of the most corrupting and destructive theme. It is
jealousy that encourages Iago to scheme Othello s downfall. Through the juxtaposition of Othello s
naive nature and Iago s spiteful villainy, the image of jealousy is truly personified as an all consuming
green eyed monster .
Other characters such as, Roderigo and Bianca demonstrate jealousy at various times in the film, and
Emilia demonstrates that she too knows the emotion well. Only Desdemona and Cassio, the true
innocents of the story, seem beyond its clutches.
Since it is an emotion that everyone shares, we watch its destructive influence on the characters with
sympathy and horror.
The final scenes are significant and essential in conveying jealousy as they show the consequences
and horrific outcome it has had on many characters. A number of characters are killed because of
jealousy consequently making it one of the most destructive themes in the film.
The theme of jealousy is clearly prominent throughout the film as it influences the characters actions.
The major characters of Iago and Othello clearly possess this jealousy and express how it affects them.
Iago is forced to expose his actual nature and Othello undergoes a total transformation from a normal
human to a spiteful monster. Evidently, jealousy does cause people to change in horrific ways.
How have you used the characters throughout the

  • 2. The Importance Of Charter School Another issue will an all charter school district is parent involvement. There are so many different types of parents: some take initiative and others do not. Would parents who normally do not take a notice in their child s life take any interest in researching which charter school they would like their child to go to if the district was made solely of charter schools? William Jeynes (2009) argues that parents may not have sufficient information about the options available to make the most prudent [choice] for their child because of their financial position (p. 11). Cambridge, Massachusetts has transformed its school district into a public school choice program where parents can choose which public school to send their child to. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The savings accounts would essentially lift some, if not most, of the financial burden of a child s education from a parent. As Jeynes pointed out though, how are we going to make sure parents know this resource is available to them? It obviously cannot be utilized if parents do not know about it. If parents were aware and took advantage of the saving accounts, they would have access to funds for transportation that Jeynes stated could be problematic. Yet again, one of the major controversy s surrounding the bill is that it would pull funding out of the state s public schools to be put into charter or private schools. How is that going to affect students in public schools who do not want to go to a charter or private school? Unfortunately, I do not think the affects will be felt in full strength until it is almost too late to pass legislation to fix the situation and pull schools out of their holes. The part of the Education Freedom Savings Accounts that I think is a great benefit to all is the funding for tutoring and testing services. Forming a solid educational foundation is necessary in order to grow later in one s education. Perhaps if a child had that little bit of extra help from a tutor early in the process of learning how to read, his/her life could be completely different today. Investing in one on one assistance outside of the classroom is a great way to be more sensitive to the desires of parents and child which is what the notion ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I ve grown accustomed to everything it has to offer, and I am comfortable in Reno. But in June, when my life switches from suburban life to a lush, green, 20 acre property, I am going to notice that Reno and Missoula have similarities, but my life will be very, very different. In Montana, especially in the summer, you can look around from our property and see green grass, tall pine trees, a beautiful fork of Nine Mile Creek, and a big blue sky. I can expect more mellow, humid summers and freezing cold, snowy winters. In Reno, my animal sightings usually include bunnies, birds, and the occasional deer or coyote. • 4. Access Of Nuclear Power Facilities Access to nuclear power facilities was tightly controlled, yet nonetheless in the wake of 9/11 the potential for sabotage was intensely debated. In a January 2002 speech, Chairman Meserve maintained that sabotage prevention had been an important part of the NRC s regulatory activities and our licensees responsibilities... for decades... And it has been augmented since September 11 (Meserve, 2002a, p. 1). Yet scarcely three months before, a nuclear plant in Michigan discovered that a contractor employee who had been given unescorted access permission to protected areas of the plant had been dismissed from a former employer for using illegal drugs (Korte, 2001, p. 3). Two weeks before Meserve s speech, a report was filed to the NRC that a Perry Nuclear Power Plant contractor employee had obtained unescorted access to the plant after deliberately lying about his criminal history (Pederson, 2002, p. 1). While his words to the National Press Club were brave enough, Meserve clearly understood the problems he faced; he had no qualms with telling Tom Ridge a year after 9/11 that, enhancing access control may be one of the most effective means of preventing a successful attack, because an insider could provide significant assistance to an attacking force (Meserve, 2002c, p. 1). The National Nuclear Security Administration agreed with Meserve, asserting that, almost all known cases of theft of nuclear material involved an insider. One of the factors causing an alarming increase in the diagnosis of mood and anxiety disorders in the recent past is the increased incidence of psychopathology (John Stirling, 2013). A Brief Look Into The Evolution Of The From Atomic Theory A Brief Look into the Evolution of DFT from Atomic Theory Quantum Theory The idea of atom existed as early as the Greek and Indian civilizations but more as a philosophical thought rather than a well defined theory based on empirical evidence. Atom was assumed as something that is indestructible and the smallest component that makes up matter. It took almost 2000 years for the development of modern day atomic theory with proof for the existence of atoms and further subatomic particles. The archaeological classification of human history as stone age, bronze age and iron age better depicts the evolution of macroscopic chemistry first. In 1923 De Broglie described the movement of electrons as a wave with an associated wavelength (λ) related as λ = h/p, where p is the momentum and h is Planck s constant. This hypothesis was confirmed in experiments and Stern later generalized this behavior to all microscopic particles. The contradictory nature of wave particle duality, the concept of a non localized wave versus a localized particle, posed a problem in simultaneous description of position and momentum which was theorized by Heisenberg in his uncertainty principle. This necessitated a new theory to describe the non deterministic nature of atomic particles. Erwin Schrodinger in 1926 postulated the concept of a wave function Ψ(x, t), the state of a system which is a function of particle coordinates, and its change with time. Max Born dissected wave function and presented |Ψ(x, t)2|dx as the probability of finding a particle at time t in the region between x and x+dx. Born along with Oppenheimer later proposed a modification to the wave function separating the nuclear motion from electron motion due to the large difference in masses. Time independent, non relativistic Schrodinger equation is an eigen value problem and the solution to the Schrodinger s Equation gives us the wave function. For atoms of higher atomic number, it becomes cumbersome to solve this equation, how it is handled we will discuss shortly. • 10. The Church Of King Henry VIII And The English Reformation The churches of the Anglican Communion have their historical roots in the English Reformation (Anglican History). The Anglican church originated when King Henry VIII split from the Roman Catholic Church in 1534 when Pope Clement VII refused to grant the king an annulment. The following overview derives from the New Catholic Encyclopedia. Henry VIII, the second s son of King Henry VII, was groomed for ruling the Church during his youth, with a broad education in theology, music, languages, and poetry. His elder brother was being prepared for the throne, but passed away from a sudden illness. Henry VIII took over as King, and became engaged to his brother s widow, Catherine of Aragon. Based on the Old Testaments ban on marrying the widow of your brother, King Henry VIII became concerned his marriage was cursed by God. He petitioned Pope Clement VII for a papal annulment, but the Pope immediately rejected the annulment. In 1531, he compelled the English clergy to accept him as head of the church of England, leading the Parliament to pass a series of laws depriving the Roman Catholic Church of any authority in England. King Henry VIII received the same legal authority over the English Church that the Pope operated over the Roman Catholic Church. Following this, Kind Henry VIII married Anne Boleyn, and split his church from the Roman Catholic Church, forming the original Anglican Church. The word Anglican originates from the ecclesia anglicana, a medieval Latin phrase that dates back to 1246. The Latin phrase means The English Church. The Church of England traces its history back to the 2nd century, when Christianity first arrived in Britain. The religion of Anglicanism believes that there is only one God, but there are three elements of the Divine: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Anglican theology tends to be biblical pastoral and apologetic, rather than dogmatic of confessional. The valid baptism in the Anglican religion is by water, in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. People baptized during infancy are expected to reaffirm their baptismal promise as they get older (Encyclopedia of Religion). Anglicanism is sometimes called the via media, the middle way, ... • 11. Pros And Cons Of Gun Control In The United States Controlling Our Guns is not the Way to go Being a daughter of a game warden and also growing up in the rural southern parts of Tennessee, I have always been exposed to firearms my entire life. There is a famous quote that is relevant to gun control, there are no bad guns, only bad men (Squires, 2002). Placing restrictions on firearms has been one of the biggest political affairs in not only America but other countries as well. Firearms in America make up $24 billion of our economy, therefore, we can say that guns play a major role in the U.S. Many people believe implementing gun laws and regulations seems to be more of a disadvantage than an advantage to our country, because gun control has failed in places like Ireland and the United Kingdom. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The definition of gun control involves politics, legislation, and how the use of firearms is being restricted (Charles, 2015). The main arguments over gun control is mainly a relationship between the state s powers to regulate public order over citizens (Spitzer, 1998). Controlling our guns does not reduce crime and violence which has been demonstrated by other countries such as Ireland and the United Kingdom and the United States government should look to those countries as examples. When the Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution, they wrote it based on justice and what was fair to the American people. The purpose of the Constitution is to be the law of the land, therefore, it establishes and maintains order for that provides a guiding hand for citizens (Spitzer, 1998). When Marley was ten years old his father died, and at that point his mother moved him to Kingston s Trechtown neighborhood. As a teenager in Kingston he became friends with Bunny Wailer and this is when Marley learned to play music. When Marley was 14 years old he decided to drop out of school so he could learn the welding trade, and at the same time he spent his spare time jamming with Bunny and Ska musician Joe Higgs. In 1962 Bob had recorded his first two singles but neither one of them had received any interest at the time. The following year he began a Ska band with his friend Bunny and Peter Tosh, which was originally called The Teenagers . They then became known as The Wailing Rudeboys and after a few more name changes they eventually came up with simply The Wailers. In 1964 they came out with their earliest Studio One hit which was recorded in the popular rock steady style, Simmer Down. Following that track they came out with another hit in 1965 that was entitled Soul Rebel in which both songs were written by Marley. In doing so, he reflects upon his motivation to climb as well as how his childhood affected these motivations. Krakauer describes this awkward phase in his life as a thick postadolescent fog (134). Krakauer s reassurance from the effects of climbing is important because it reveals a reliance on the purity of nature and it s freedom from external opinions. In response to the claims of McCandless s Alaskan journey being a suicide mission, Krakauer reflects upon the speculations of McCandless s decisions through a more personal lens. Firstly, Feminism is a conflict theory that believes that all religions are instruments set up by men to oppress women with the set of beliefs and practices. There are many different branches of feminism; the ones being evaluated are called Liberal, Radical and Marxist feminists. Feminists believe that society is malestream and not mainstream as people believe. • 32. A Room of One s Own Essay FOUR In Chapters Four and Five of A Room of One s Own,, the focus on Women Fiction shifts to a consideration of women writers, both actual writers and ultimately one of the author s own creation. The special interest here is one raised earlier in the work: the effect of tradition on women s writing. Woolf believes that women are different from men both in their social history as well as inherently, and that each of these differences has had important effects on the development of women s writing. Women writers, this is to say, have been treated differently from men because they were women; and this has affected how they developed. Furthermore, Woolf maintains, women writers are different from men writers because they are women; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... on equal terms with men. For women, the narrator contends, here begins the freedom of the mind, the possibility that in the course of time one will be able to write whatever one likes. With Mrs. Behn, writing by women cased to be a sign of folly and became an activity of practical importance. Money dignifies what is frivolous if unpaid for she observes, and Mrs. Behn s success in the Seventeenth Century led to very many women earning money through writing in the Eighteenth Century. These women became the necessary forerunners of the successful women writers of the early 19th Century: Jane Austen, the Brontes, and George Eliot. With the 19th Century writers, one can begin to consider women s writing in a more expanded manner as a kind of writing that has its own nature based on what it is to be a woman. First, the narrator wonders why the early 19th century writers were all novelists despite their apparent differences in temperament. And one answer that she gives focuses on women s common social role. Functioning at the heart of the family, she observes, women s training inevitably includes the observation of character and the analysis of emotion. These are faculties women acquire unconsciously in the course of daily activities and they are more easily put to use in a novel than elsewhere in fiction. Domesticity, thus, was not always a disadvantage for women. However, she goes on to consider, to the extent that women s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I was characterized as a Guardian by the Keirsey Temperament Sorter, and I agree with this result. • 35. Amateur Politicians And The Presidential Election In all Congressional elections in the United States the incumbent and the challenger can be classified into one of two groups for each situation. The incumbent can be a strong incumbent, which is an individual who either won a large percentage of the vote or one who consistently wins in the district election after election. Many strong incumbents have safe seats in the House of Representative when they win at least 60% of the vote in an election (Shaffer 10 01 2015). Strong incumbents typically are not challenged by individuals who have extensive experience in public office. Instead, strong incumbents are usually challenged by amateur politicians. Amateur politicians are individuals who may have little or no political experience. Types of amateur politicians include cause politicians, who are attempting to relay a message on a specific issue on a national platform, celebrity amateurs who have high name recognition but no previous experience in an elected office, and those individuals who are either naïve or are businessmen (ex. lawyers) who want to get their name into the public sphere in order to gain business (Davidson and Oleszek, 2016, 58). A weak incumbent is a representative who either won by a very small margin or a freshman representative who does not have very much experience in national elected office, or both (Davidson and Oleszek, 2016, 60). This incumbent is typically challenged by what is known as a strategic politician. A strategic politician is a strong ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Analysis Of The Book Ordinary Grace, By William Kent... Faith and Forgiveness In FYS we were taught many ways to live in the world through the stories we read, speeches we listen to, and the projects we did. In the book, Ordinary Grace, by William Kent Krueger, The Chosen, by Chaim Potok, and Destiny of The Republic, by Candice Millard, I saw a few prominent themes of how one should live. In these three books I learned about the author s voice through their writings. I saw how one should live their life. In these books the authors shared common themes through their writings. The authors showed how to live life with forgiveness and live life with faith. As Nathan was treated poorly throughout the story I really saw him forgive his wife time and time again throughout the book. After the death of Nathan and Ruth s daughter Ariel their relationship was tested to the max. Ruth would isolate herself from her husband and she almost despised him for not being upset with the Lord. Ruth could not accept how Nathan turned to God because she blamed God for all of this. While Nathan was being ignored, looked as bad, or just despised by his wife, he did not fold in and say whatever I give up. Nathan had an understanding and forgiving mindset he understood why his wife felt like this. Nathan forgave his wife while she was in the progress of despises him. Nathan never acted this way towards her, he simply turned the other cheek. Nathan showed a great will power by being able to forgive his wife so easily. This spoke volumes because he simply lived his life in a forgiving manner. As Nathan showed his faith and forgiveness through the story I saw a true man of God. Nathan lived in such a way where he could forgive people for the things they did and this was because of how strong he was in his faith. Living a life like Nathan means to live a life for God. A true man of God allowed for Nathan to live a very purposeful life. • 37. Job Satisfaction, Work Attitude and Stress Tolerance of... CHAPTER I The PROBLEM AND ITS SCOPE INTRODUCTION Rationale of the Study Job satisfaction is simply how people feel about their jobs and different aspects of their jobs. It is the extent to which people like (satisfaction) or dislike (dissatisfaction) their jobs. As it is generally assessed, job satisfaction is an attitudinal variable. In the past, job satisfaction was approached by some researchers from the perspective of need fulfilment that is, whether or not the job met the employee s physical and psychological needs for the things provided by work (Cote S., and Morgan LM, 2002). In a report on job satisfaction by the National Center for Education Statistics (2003) revealed many factors that contributed to higher ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Taking in to account that most of these teachers are working away from their home and family and could only go home weekly, or the least once a month due to the distance of the schools they are assigned. However, districts located in the hinterland such as Paquibato, had most number of teacher applicants every year. Reason of this scenario could be the fact that many teachers are applying for transfer to the nearby schools after a one or two years of service and that applicant could be hired easily. Nevertheless, some teachers had tenured in this district up to their retirement period and some had flourished and raised their professional status and positions. The ground for conducting this study is that it is intended to shed light on what influences how teachers feel about their work and profession so that positive job related attitudes may be cultivated. Theoretical Background The Maslow s hierarchy of needs theory, a motivation theory, laid the foundation for job satisfaction theory. It is founded in the premise that goals or needs underpin by being the fundamental source of all desires. This theory explains that people seek to satisfy five specific needs in life physiological needs, safety needs, social needs, self esteem needs, and self actualization. In the levels of the five basic needs, the person does not feel the second need until the demands of the first

  • 39. The Invention Of Printing Press In 1440, for too many people was the year of change in the global communication. It was during this time in Mainz, Germany that a goldsmith s Johannes Gutenberg created one of the most important machines during the modern period: the printing press. The printing press was inspired by earlier uses found in China and Japan as early as the 7th century. In this time the way to print was using the method of block printing, which was a piece of wood used to print a specific piece of text. ( Patterns for ) With the Gutenberg invention the revolution had begun. It advanced the process of movable type further, and started a new era of printing called typography. ( User Interface ) Scroll bars when information on a page exceeds the viewport, a scroll bar control may be required to access the additional information. Scrolling of information should almost always occur along one axis, except in rare cases. ( Patterns for ) The problem can be more information in the page or element than can fit in the viewport. You have to provide a method to access this information. The solution for mobiles will be to display them to indicate the scrollable axes, and the relative position within the scrollable area. Whenever possible, you should make sure scrolling takes place on a single axis. This is why the whole set of patterns based around vertical scroll exist. When the situation demands, such as for zooming in to content which otherwise fits the area, you can also offer a secondary scroll axis. • 41. Theme Of Jealousy In Othello Jealousy. The fuel for destruction. Throughout Oliver Parker s 1995 film Othello , jealousy is apparent. Parker displays the possessive theme of jealousy throughout the entirety of the film while also demonstrating how it may also lead to acts of revenge; being another vital theme in Othello . The tragedy Othello focuses on the catastrophe of Othello and many other characters in the film as a result of jealousy. I was fortunate enough to sit down with the well renowned director, Oliver Parker, to discuss his film adaptations of William Shakespeare s tragic play, Othello as well as the dangers of Jealousy in his film on certain characters. Mr. Parker, your film has been critiqued for focusing so heavily on jealousy. How did you manage to portray the idea of jealousy as a theme in your film? I have represented jealousy in the film, as one of the most corrupting and destructive theme. It is jealousy that encourages Iago to scheme Othello s downfall. Through the juxtaposition of Othello s naive nature and Iago s spiteful villainy, the image of jealousy is truly personified as an all consuming green eyed monster . Other characters such as, Roderigo and Bianca demonstrate jealousy at various times in the film, and Emilia demonstrates that she too knows the emotion well. Only Desdemona and Cassio, the true innocents of the story, seem beyond its clutches. Since it is an emotion that everyone shares, we watch its destructive influence on the characters with sympathy and horror. The final scenes are significant and essential in conveying jealousy as they show the consequences and horrific outcome it has had on many characters. A number of characters are killed because of jealousy consequently making it one of the most destructive themes in the film. The theme of jealousy is clearly prominent throughout the film as it influences the characters actions. The major characters of Iago and Othello clearly possess this jealousy and express how it affects them. Iago is forced to expose his actual nature and Othello undergoes a total transformation from a normal human to a spiteful monster. Evidently, jealousy does cause people to change in horrific ways. How have you used the characters throughout the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
