informs, persuades, and reminds potential buyers of
a product in order to influence an opinion or elicit a
response.
Promotion is communicating information
between seller and potential buyer or others in the
channel to influence attitudes and behavior.
Promotion seeks to shift the demand curve
Promotion mix
A company's total marketing communications mix
is called its promotion mix •
Promotion Mix is the specific blend of advertising,
public relations, personal selling, sales promotion,
and direct-marketing tools that the company uses to
persuasively communicate customer value and
build customer relationships.
Any paid form of nonpersonal presentation and
promotion of ideas, goods, or services by an
identified sponsor.

Short-term incentives to encourage the
purchase or sale of a product or service.
