Professional Development 1
Goal:
To increase the percentage of 4th grade students meeting state required testing standards by using
technology based intervention strategies to create individualized instruction.
Identifying the Needs:
The activity will begin with analyzing the schools AEIS report to determine student weaknesses in the
area of reading. The AEIS showed that this group of student performance was low in the area of
applying critical-thinking, main ideas, and comprehension. The training will aid teacher in evaluating
student weaknesses while providing research based strategies designed to enhance learning.
Technology:
The Campus based technology personnel and reading specialist will train educators on the use of I-
Station a technology base instructional program that is designed to individualize instruction for all
students. The educators will also practice using the program and implementing recommended
interventions into lesson plans.
Professional Development 2
Goal:
This activity is designed to increase the percentage of educators embedding technology into the science
the science curriculum.
Identifying the Needs:
This training will begin with analyzing the schools STaR Chart data which reveals a low performance in
the area of teaching and learning.
Technology:
The Campus based technology personnel and science lead teacher will train educators on creating
power point presentation related to the scientific model that can be uploaded into student blogs.
Students can later view and comment on the work of other grade level students. Teacher will practice
creating presentations, uploading them into blogs and commenting on the work of their peers.
