Content of the STaR Chart Purpose: A tool designed for use in technology planning, budgeting and evaluation of progress Shows progression towards reaching the goals of the Texas Long-Range Plan for Technology (LRPT) and NCLB Four level of progress: Early Tech Developing Tech Advanced Tech Target Tech
Why the STaR Chart? Data derived from the  Texas  STaR  Chart  is used to: create a vision for the use of technology measure student and teacher proficiencies with respect to integration of technology in all content areas determine whether students are gaining literacy in technology application standards for grades K-12 designating resources for integrating technology
Where we are…Developing Tech EDUCATOR PREPARATION & DEVELOPMENT Most teachers have participated in professional development on the customization of online courses or content for appropriate subject area Most teachers adapt technology knowledge and skills for content area instruction. 9-18 hours of technology professional development available per school year for all teachers Most of the teachers on my campus demonstrate two to three of the  SBEC Technology Applications Standards Our campus provides large group professional development sessions that focus on increasing teacher productivity and building capacity to integrate technology effectively into content areas, and include follow-up to facilitate implementation. Most teachers have completed professional development on the integration of technology specific to their content area and to increase productivity to accomplish a variety of instruction and management tasks. If not, then what must we do to fix it?
