1. Technology Action Plan

Needs Assessment: Teachers are lacking the necessary skill to integrate different types of technology in the classroom to increase student learning based of a campus wide survey and the Texas STaR Chart. The STaR Chart explained the campus is primarily on a developing tech level and the survey showed that teachers are on a basic level of knowledge and skill when implementing new technology in the classroom. For my campus to be inline with the Long Range Technology Plan, we need to increase the use of technology in the classroom.

3. Goal: To have all teachers trained in and using proven teaching strategies of the integration of technology in the classrooms to increase their level of knowledge and skills as well as student achievement.

4. Objective: Teachers will attend professional developments to increase the integration of technology in the classroom.

Objective Activity Resources Evaluation The entire staff will understand the current levels for the school at the beginning of the year from the STaR Chart, goals from the CIP, the current levels of the staff from the survey, the goals from the Long Range Plan, and the current needs of the school. The staff will have a professional development to allow all staff to know and understand the current levels of the school in the different areas. Computer Projector Internet Technologist Administrator The teacher will be given an exit ticket at the end of the professional development and they will have to be able to answer questions from the professional development. If the teachers can answer the questions, then they will understand the professional development.

6. Objective Activity Resources Evaluation Teachers will attend professional developments on different type of technology that can be used in the classroom. Professional developments on the following Technology Tools: WEB 2.0. Tools Smart Boards Eduphoria AEIS, AYP, and STaR Chart (On the next Slides) Teachers will attend professional developments on different type of technology that can be used in the classroom. The evaluation of these professional developments will be in the implementation of professional developments in the teachers’ classrooms.

7. Web 2.0 Smart Boards This professional development would allow teachers to gain the necessary skills and knowledge of what students are using daily and to incorporate it in the classrooms. The types of WEB 2.0 tools covered in the professional development would be blogs, Wikis, and social networking. The developments would include the history, examples of how to implement them in the classrooms, the benefits of using them, and the safety concerns with using them. This professional development would focus on how to effective use smart boards in the classroom. The development would cover how to set up and use the Smart Boards in the classrooms, how to integrate current lessons with the Smart Boards, and how students could use them to assist with learning.

8. Eduphoria AEIS, AYP, STaR Chart This professional development will go over how to use the district wide program that tracks students’ progress throughout their schooling in the district. It will cover how to collect data and input it into the system (which types of assessments can be used), how to read the data from previous years in the district, how to analyze each student’s area of needs and strength from the data, and how to incorporate the analysis of student data in the classroom instruction. The last part of this development is how to read and interpret the TAKS data in the program. This will allow the teachers to see where students have been successful and areas of needed improvement. In the professional development will help the teachers to understand these three resources and how to benefit from them. The development will cover what each one is used for, how these can benefit the campus, the current levels of the campus, and where we need to be. For AEIS and AYP, it will cover how to read and interpret the data, the state levels for TAKS, and the TAKS level for the school. For STaR Chart, it will cover the Long Range Plan for technology and how the STaR Chart relates to it. It will also cover the current levels for the school and compare it to where the campus needs to be. In the professional development it will cover where we are, where we need to be, and how we can reach our goals from the CIP, District goals, and state goals.

9. Objective Activity Resources Evaluation At the end of each Six Weeks, the teacher will be given a survey of their new levels of knowledge and skills in technology. It will also have the effectiveness of the technology used in the survey. A survey will be given to each teacher at the end of each six weeks to elaborate on their current levels of knowledge and skills in technology. They will also have the opportunity to elaborate on current struggles and successes of the integration of new technology and strategies in the classroom. Computer Email The evaluation will be based on the growth of each teacher. If the teacher is learning and using new technology in the classroom, then the teacher is being successful.

Objective Activity Resources Evaluation End of year professional development is to review the first professional development to compare the beginning of the year levels of the school to the levels at the end of school. End of the year professional development to compare data from the beginning of the year to the end. Computer Projector Internet Technologist Administrator The evaluation will be based on the improvement of the entire staff of the school and the improvement of all levels. If all areas improve then the school was successful.
