Production Reflection
Imogen Minto
Process
• The first thing I did was the background I wanted it to be
colourful to make it eye catching and interesting to look
at than it just being dull boring colours so I went onto
the colour picker and chose a colour that I thought
looked nice which was a blue colour and faded it out to
other lighter blue colours to then a green then a yellow
to make it look different. I wanted to try and make the
colours blend in as much as possible but I kind of liked
the look of seeing the different shades as it looks like it
was hand drawn which it was.
• The next part I did was adding the platforms for the
character to jump onto and I’m going to create different
platforms for the character to jump onto for each part
of the levels and add different things to collect however
I haven't added the coins/gems to collect yet. I did the
platforms by looking at a image that looks similar and
created something similar and as you keep going I
would like the platforms to change colour as well as the
background so it’s a different scenery than it being the
same theme throughout the game.
• The last part I added to this scenery was clouds. I did
this because I wanted the background to look like sky
but also have the different shades of yellow near the
bottom to make it look interesting than it just being all
blue.
Process
• The next part I did was the next
scenery so I wanted to do a blue
background with purple platforms.
How I did the background was go onto
colour picker and picked a blue colour
which was dark and then moved it to a
lighter colour each time to create a
ombré look. I then wanted to add a
moon to make it carry on the theme as
the other one has clouds and this one
has a moon I did this by having a white
colour and then some darker colour to
make it look more like a moon.
• The platforms, I used the same style
just a different colour I changed it by
going onto image and adjustments
then hue/saturation to change the
colour easier as it was taking too long
to go in individually so doing it that was
was easier.
Process
• With the next scenery I wanted this one to
be bright and eye catching so I chose the
colour pink so again I got the colour picker
and picked a pink shade and went lighter
each time to create an ombré look so it
looks better than it just being one shade
colour. Also with the background with the
stripes of the different colours I like that it
looks like the game has been hand made
which it has so it look unique.
• The next part I did was the platforms I
changed the colour with the adjustment,
hue/saturation.
• The last part I did was adding the birds,
again with the backgrounds I like to add
either a moon, clouds and in this case birds
to make it look like there is theme with the
background.
Process
• The first thing I did for this scenery is again
with the other I went onto colour picker and
picked a colour I wanted to do in this case I
chose orange fading into a yellow to again
to create an ombré look. I do this because it
just looks better than having one solid
colour as you can see each individual line of
colours.
• The next part I did was adding the platforms
like the rest of the looks I did the same look
just with a different colour so with this one I
thought it would look good with the orange
so I went pink on the bottom bit then with
the top part I chose a blue colour to make it
pop and easy to see when it comes t playing
the game.
• The last thing I did for this one was add a
sun like the rest I add different themes with
the background so in this one I chose a sun
as it the background reminded me of a hot
place so thought a sun would go well with it.
Process
• When I was doing the Photoshop work I wanted to make it move sideways so
there's more slides and a longer game so I changed the width of the canvas
size to 189 and 44 height to create this which is 2 PowerPoint work and put
them together and faded it in the center to create the look it has as one
scenery finishes the other one starts so its not harsh as it starts the next level.
• How I did this was by going onto the Photoshop I did for each scenery and dragged the
background over to the next page which is the one with the width being 189 I had the orange go
o the middle to meet the pink background and then faded it together by clicking on ‘adding layer
mask’ and then clicked on the bit where I wanted it to fade and dragged the pink one out to
made it fade more.
• Then added the platforms again, I added the platforms that went with each scenery so I went
onto the backgrounds that I created on another Photoshop and dragged the platforms onto the
new I made and placed hem in different place to create the game. I did the same with the pink
background got the platform that went with that scenery and added them in different places to
make it different each level.
Process
What I did in these screenshots are with the first one you can see the background like I have explained
in the other slides then I added the platforms again like I have explained in the other slides before this
one, also added the character I did this by drawing her as she’s walking with one leg out and then the
next clip when I do the timeline of her moving it will be another leg moving out to make it look like she’s
walking/running. Also can see in the next screenshot of the girl jumping so I made one with her legs up
so it gives the illusion of her jumping so when it plays together you can see the movements she is
making. As you can also see is that I have added the sun for the orange side and then when we get to
the pink which you can also see that it blends into the orange there are birds to give it a different look
and that you know when the next bit is to the game. The last parts I added to the game to make it have
1) an aim and 2) to make it more challenging and fun which is the gems the character has to collect and
as you can see in the last screenshot one of the hearts at the top have gone which I have added to make
it look more realistic too as I made the character hit the bird which made her lose a health so one has
gone. And the bottom screenshot with all the slides together are the timeline where I made them look
like the game is playing.
Process
After I made the game I then made the title for the game, a loading screen and saying that
the level was completed I did this by Photoshop using the same colours and theme as the
game so I did this by going on the game and dragging the pink and orange colours over and
blurring them together to create the faded look. I then got the pencil and changed the
colour to white and wrote what I wanted on the page which was the 3 screenshots at the
top. Also added the birds and the sun to them as well to make them look better than it just
having words. Then when I was done doing all 3 of them I then went onto Premier Pro and
added all the Photoshop work together to make it flow and look like an actual game. With
the loading screen I made it as a picture but then thought I could make the ‘…’ move so i
went back onto photoshop and went onto timeline and turned 2 of the dots off and left
one on then made a new frame and clicked the next dot on and again with the last dot so
when i clicked play it would make the dots appear one by one to make it actually look likes
its loading not just a picture.
Process
The last step I did to create my game was going onto ‘Beepbox’ to create sound effects
and the song that plays throughout the game. I did this by clicking on the notes and
placed them anywhere to see what sound it created and if It went well with my game I
would save it and name each one I create for that specific part for the game. When I
found the create sound for each part so for example with the character jumping I
would try and create a low to high sound to give the effect of her jumping as you can
see in the first screenshot. Or another example is when the character collects the gems
it makes a high pitch noise and when you either fall or hit something that you aren’t
meant to do it created a low pitch noise to make it sound like you weren’t meant to do
that. Then in the second screenshot you can see I added the sounds to Premiere Pro
where I wanted them to go so when you play the game you can see and here that the
sounds go well and match the game well.

Production Reflection

  • 2. Process • The first thing I did was the background I wanted it to be colourful to make it eye catching and interesting to look at than it just being dull boring colours so I went onto the colour picker and chose a colour that I thought looked nice which was a blue colour and faded it out to other lighter blue colours to then a green then a yellow to make it look different. I wanted to try and make the colours blend in as much as possible but I kind of liked the look of seeing the different shades as it looks like it was hand drawn which it was. • The next part I did was adding the platforms for the character to jump onto and I’m going to create different platforms for the character to jump onto for each part of the levels and add different things to collect however I haven't added the coins/gems to collect yet. I did the platforms by looking at a image that looks similar and created something similar and as you keep going I would like the platforms to change colour as well as the background so it’s a different scenery than it being the same theme throughout the game. • The last part I added to this scenery was clouds. I did this because I wanted the background to look like sky but also have the different shades of yellow near the bottom to make it look interesting than it just being all blue.
  • 3. Process • The next part I did was the next scenery so I wanted to do a blue background with purple platforms. How I did the background was go onto colour picker and picked a blue colour which was dark and then moved it to a lighter colour each time to create a ombré look. I then wanted to add a moon to make it carry on the theme as the other one has clouds and this one has a moon I did this by having a white colour and then some darker colour to make it look more like a moon. • The platforms, I used the same style just a different colour I changed it by going onto image and adjustments then hue/saturation to change the colour easier as it was taking too long to go in individually so doing it that was was easier.
  • 4. Process • With the next scenery I wanted this one to be bright and eye catching so I chose the colour pink so again I got the colour picker and picked a pink shade and went lighter each time to create an ombré look so it looks better than it just being one shade colour. Also with the background with the stripes of the different colours I like that it looks like the game has been hand made which it has so it look unique. • The next part I did was the platforms I changed the colour with the adjustment, hue/saturation. • The last part I did was adding the birds, again with the backgrounds I like to add either a moon, clouds and in this case birds to make it look like there is theme with the background.
  • 5. Process • The first thing I did for this scenery is again with the other I went onto colour picker and picked a colour I wanted to do in this case I chose orange fading into a yellow to again to create an ombré look. I do this because it just looks better than having one solid colour as you can see each individual line of colours. • The next part I did was adding the platforms like the rest of the looks I did the same look just with a different colour so with this one I thought it would look good with the orange so I went pink on the bottom bit then with the top part I chose a blue colour to make it pop and easy to see when it comes t playing the game. • The last thing I did for this one was add a sun like the rest I add different themes with the background so in this one I chose a sun as it the background reminded me of a hot place so thought a sun would go well with it.
  • 6. Process • When I was doing the Photoshop work I wanted to make it move sideways so there's more slides and a longer game so I changed the width of the canvas size to 189 and 44 height to create this which is 2 PowerPoint work and put them together and faded it in the center to create the look it has as one scenery finishes the other one starts so its not harsh as it starts the next level. • How I did this was by going onto the Photoshop I did for each scenery and dragged the background over to the next page which is the one with the width being 189 I had the orange go o the middle to meet the pink background and then faded it together by clicking on ‘adding layer mask’ and then clicked on the bit where I wanted it to fade and dragged the pink one out to made it fade more. • Then added the platforms again, I added the platforms that went with each scenery so I went onto the backgrounds that I created on another Photoshop and dragged the platforms onto the new I made and placed hem in different place to create the game. I did the same with the pink background got the platform that went with that scenery and added them in different places to make it different each level.
  • 7. Process What I did in these screenshots are with the first one you can see the background like I have explained in the other slides then I added the platforms again like I have explained in the other slides before this one, also added the character I did this by drawing her as she’s walking with one leg out and then the next clip when I do the timeline of her moving it will be another leg moving out to make it look like she’s walking/running. Also can see in the next screenshot of the girl jumping so I made one with her legs up so it gives the illusion of her jumping so when it plays together you can see the movements she is making. As you can also see is that I have added the sun for the orange side and then when we get to the pink which you can also see that it blends into the orange there are birds to give it a different look and that you know when the next bit is to the game. The last parts I added to the game to make it have 1) an aim and 2) to make it more challenging and fun which is the gems the character has to collect and as you can see in the last screenshot one of the hearts at the top have gone which I have added to make it look more realistic too as I made the character hit the bird which made her lose a health so one has gone. And the bottom screenshot with all the slides together are the timeline where I made them look like the game is playing.
  • 8. Process After I made the game I then made the title for the game, a loading screen and saying that the level was completed I did this by Photoshop using the same colours and theme as the game so I did this by going on the game and dragging the pink and orange colours over and blurring them together to create the faded look. I then got the pencil and changed the colour to white and wrote what I wanted on the page which was the 3 screenshots at the top. Also added the birds and the sun to them as well to make them look better than it just having words. Then when I was done doing all 3 of them I then went onto Premier Pro and added all the Photoshop work together to make it flow and look like an actual game. With the loading screen I made it as a picture but then thought I could make the ‘…’ move so i went back onto photoshop and went onto timeline and turned 2 of the dots off and left one on then made a new frame and clicked the next dot on and again with the last dot so when i clicked play it would make the dots appear one by one to make it actually look likes its loading not just a picture.
  • 9. Process The last step I did to create my game was going onto ‘Beepbox’ to create sound effects and the song that plays throughout the game. I did this by clicking on the notes and placed them anywhere to see what sound it created and if It went well with my game I would save it and name each one I create for that specific part for the game. When I found the create sound for each part so for example with the character jumping I would try and create a low to high sound to give the effect of her jumping as you can see in the first screenshot. Or another example is when the character collects the gems it makes a high pitch noise and when you either fall or hit something that you aren’t meant to do it created a low pitch noise to make it sound like you weren’t meant to do that. Then in the second screenshot you can see I added the sounds to Premiere Pro where I wanted them to go so when you play the game you can see and here that the sounds go well and match the game well.
