2. INTRODUCTION
❖ The concept of Product Packaging in Odoo is nothing but put your products in packs and
track them.
❖ This is an effective and useful feature in the Odoo platform which will make the
transportation more comfortable, easy and also protect your products from damages.
❖ Using this advanced feature, Odoo platform allows you to define your product packing
based upon your company specifications.
❖ The Odoo platform allows its user to perform the sale comparison based on the pack of
goods. This can be easily configured by the user in the platform and it allows the users to
manage it easily.

3. ❖ Goto Sales Module > Configuration > Settings

4. ❖ Enable the option Product packagings and save the changes by clicking on the
SAVE button.

5. ❖ You can access the product packages directly from Inventory module > Configuration >
Settings or from the Inventory tab of product form.

6. ❖ In the Product Packagings creation window, you can provide the Packaging Name along with
the Product description, Routes, Package Type, Contained quantity, and Barcode.
❖ Moreover, you can enable the Purchase and Sales option for using this Packaging for Purchase
Orders and Sales Orders.

7. ❖ Then Goto the Sales Module, Create Quotation/order. Select our product from orderline.
Select the packaging for the product.

8. ❖ Then you will get a warning message about the quantity in package click on OK button.And
update the product quantity as 10.

9. ❖ After updating the product quantity to 10 the packaging quantity will be updated into 1.

10. ❖ After updating the quantity the total will be updated and you can confirm the order by
CONFIRM button.

11. ❖ If you confirm the Sale Order you will be able to view the Delivery smart button on the top
right corner of the window as depicted below.

12. ❖ In the delivery form the demanded and reserved quantity will be updated as per our package
product quantity.Validate the transfer by VALIDATE

13. ❖ Now we are going look how to group different products into a single packet and the user can
define it as single products the included products can be specified under the description.
❖ From settings > Enable Packages > SAVE your unsaved changes.

14. ❖ This option will help you to keep your products in packs such as parcels, boxes and also assist
you to track them.
❖ Goto Sales module, create your order and CONFIRM

15. ❖ Goto your picking created for the sale order.

16. ❖ In the Delivery window you will be able to view the option to PUT IN PACK and the product
details under the Operations tab as shown in the below image.

17. ❖ On picking form update your done quantity that put in one package after clicking PUT IN
PACK.

18. ❖ Click on PACKAGES smart button

19. ❖ Select your package.

20. ❖ You will get the package details with the product included.

21. ❖ Now let’s check with the Package type, Goto Inventory module > Configuration >
Package Type

22. ❖ Click on CREATE button to create new package type.

23. ❖ Provide the package details and then SAVE

24. ❖ Then Goto Products > Packages.There you will get all the created packages.

25. ❖ Open one created package and select the package type from the field > SAVE
