Process Essays
Writing an essay on the topic of "Process Essays" can be both challenging and rewarding. The
difficulty lies in the need to effectively convey a step-by-step process while maintaining clarity
and coherence throughout the entire piece. Here are some reasons why it might be considered a
challenging task:
1. Precision in Instructions:Process essays require precision in conveying instructions.
Every step must be articulated clearly, leaving no room for ambiguity. Ensuring that
readers can easily follow the process might demand meticulous attention to detail.
2. Organizational Skills:Crafting a well-organized essay is crucial. The steps of the
process must be presented in a logical sequence, allowing readers to grasp the flow
effortlessly. Poor organization can lead to confusion and may detract from the
effectiveness of the essay.
3. Balancing Detail and Conciseness:Striking the right balance between providing enough
detail for understanding and being concise is a constant challenge. Too much detail may
overwhelm the reader, while too little might leave them confused.
4. Engaging the Reader: Keeping the reader engaged throughout the essay is vital. The
challenge is to present the information in a way that captivates the audience, making
them interested in following the entire process.
5. Clarity in Language: Using clear and straightforward language is essential. Complex
vocabulary or convoluted sentences may hinder comprehension, defeating the purpose of
a process essay.
6. Avoiding Repetition:It's important to avoid unnecessary repetition of ideas or steps.
Each part of the process should contribute to the overall understanding without
unnecessary redundancy.
Despite these challenges, writing a process essay can be a rewarding experience. It allows the
writer to showcase their ability to explain complex procedures and share valuable insights.
Overcoming these difficulties results in a piece that not only educates but also engages the
audience.

Pt-305 Research Papers
The PT 305 was manufactured by Higgins Industries in New Orleans. The keel
(foundation of the ship) was laid down on March 30, 1943 at the City Park Plant.
The ship was launched on May 27, 1943 and was later completed at the Industrial
Canal Plant on December 8, 1943. For the American Navy, the boat was a critical
asset in the days after Pearl Harbor when the United States were short on larger
vessels and facing an onslaught of attacks from the Japanese. The actions of PT boat
crews in the Philippines and Solomon Islands represent an outstanding example of
the American Spirit in action. The ship was used by the allies in WWII and for that
reason I m going to be explaining how the ship was made, from raw to materials to
manufacturing plants,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In June 2006, The National WWII Museum was contacted by the Defenders of
America Naval Museum about the possible transfer of PT 305. The vessel was
transported to the Museum campus in April 2007. With the help of the faithful
Higgins boat volunteers, PT 305 has been completely restored to her wartime
condition. Everything except the weapons are fully operational. Its home is now a
custom built boathouse on Lake Pontchartrain, where guests will be able to
purchase tours and rides on the boat. One of the ships was completely restored and
set to be moved to a museum back in its hometown. There s nothing like this
anywhere, said Stephen Watson, the museum s chief operating officer (NY Times,
1). We ve always tried to do things here that bring history to life in an unexpected
way (NY Times, 1). The maneuver on Saturday, with the 50 ton boat riding on a 64
wheeled, remote controlled crawler, certainly caught some pedestrians by surprise.
Others just had to see it with their own eyes. Jerry Lousteau s standard poodle,
Satchmo, barked at the boat as it deftly navigated the right turn off Magazine Street
onto St. Joseph Street a little after 7:30 a.m. Mr. Lousteau said that his father in law
was wounded on Iwo Jima during the war, but he confessed he had come out
because he just was fascinated by a giant moving operation (NY Times, 1).

Becker, Rachel A. 4 Ways Polar Bears are Dealing with Climate Change. National

Polar bears are declining in numbers as the sea ice is diminishing. There are fewer
than 25,000 polar bears left in the wild, the population has dropped about 40
percent between 2001 to 2010, from 1,500 to 900 bears. Not only has the number
of polar bears decreased, but they have been acting strangely as their surroundings
continue to decrease. The different strategies that polar bears are using to survive
are what s keeping them alive, according to Becker the polar bears are changing
their appetite by eating a species of dolphins that got trapped in the melting ice. Also,
the polar bears have started eating snow geese eggs as a backup source of food. In
addition, the bears are starting to spend more time on the shores during the
summertime instead of hibernating. Lastly, the polar bears are so desperate to eat
that they end up eating human food and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Hassol, these climate changes are being experienced especially intense
in the Arctic, Arctic average temperature has risen at almost twice the rate as the
rest of the world in the past few decades (8). These trends aren t stopping anytime
soon. The ongoing increases in concentrations of greenhouse gases in the earth s
atmosphere are causing an acceleration in these climate trends according to Hassol.
Climate change is going to have major impacts on the earth, for example the sea ice
melting. Hassol talks about how this could be seen either positive or negative. For
the creatures in the Arctic like the seals and polar bears, the sea ice melting is very
harmful to them. However, the reduced sea ice could increase marine access for
shipping and offshore oil extraction. However, an increase in those activities would
just further complicate the

DISCOVERIES IN CHEMISTRY AND THEIR IMPACTS ON PUBLIC LIFE
INTRODUCTION Every single day, without even realising it, we use so many
things that are brought to us by the discoveries and advances in chemistry. Many of
these things we take for granted, and don t even bother to question how it got

What Does The Mask Symbolize In Fahrenheit 451
When something consumes you such as a society and tells you what you have to
be, how do you avoid the mask? The poem We Wear the Mask by Paul Dunbar and
the novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury both use a mask as a symbol. The mask
symbolizes how closed off people are, and how they hide themselves and their
emotions from society. These masks are worn to protect yourself from the cruel and
treacherous society that has been created. The new society has taught people how to
cover up their true emotions with these fake smiles and shining eyes. This maskholds
back all the sorrow, protects you from being further destroyed by others words or
actions, and covers up the real extreme problems people are facing such as suicide
and drug overdose. Both texts use these masks metaphorically to show how the
people protect themselves.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

society have tried to create. If you are smiling on the outside often, you should be

Satirical Techniques Used In Parks And Recreation

show, reading a book, or even hanging out with friends. Either way you were
probably observing, comedy. Which in literary terms is a genre of literature that is
created in a humorous nature for a purpose of making people laugh. A television
show that can be categorized as a comedyis Parks and Recreation. The show is about
a crew members that work in a parks department for the government in a small town
called Pawnee, Indiana. The main characters consist of Leslie Knope who later in the
show marries Ben Wyatt. April ludgatewho later marries Andy. Ron Swanson,
Donna, Tom, and Garyy. They all work together trying to make the city of Pawnee a

Parks and rec can also be classified as a political satire. A political satire is gaining
entertainment from politics. Often times in parks and rec they make fun of the
government and act like it is nothing. They always hire people who have no
experience in the government and only graduated high school, like april. Ron
hates the government and always wants his identity kept secret. He makes funny
jokes referring to the government in every episode. Parks and rec also has a
loving care for eachother aspect. Anytime someone is down about something
everyone tries to help, even april who hates everyone and usually shows no
feelings towards anyone besides Andy. For example when Ann left town in season
two and leslie was very upset everyone did things for leslie. Also when April
wanted to quit the parks department everyone was sad but did everything they could
to help her find a new job because they loved her so much. The creators do a great
job of portraying these two genres in the
Garry Winogrand s Photography
Every day we witness events and experience moments that are engraved in our
memories for possibly our whole lives. Those significant events shouldn t be simply
remembered by memory but with physical evidence from photographs. Garry
Winogrand is an artist that takes photographs of a plethora of different life events.
Those events span from major political movements to a simple family fun day; as a
result, there really is no shortage in the diversity of Winogrand s photograph. His
black and grey photographs seems to capture unique moments in everyday life in a
casual way. Thee photographs do not look like they were captured in a professional

The picture may discort; but there I always a presumption that something exists,
or did exist which is like what s in the picture. (Sontag). In a photograph that Garry
Winogrand capture, there is an adult couple each holding a baby monkey in their
arms. This scene was taken in the streets of a busy city sidewalk. Not only is it a
strange scene but it would have certainly been hard to believe if you did not see it
with your own eyes. However, with the photograph that Garry Winogrand took,
there is evidence that that scene actually existed. Even though there is probably an
immensely high chance that the same scene would happen again, the photograph
will always prove that the small event did exist. Another example would be when
Garry Winogrand took a photograph of people laying on a grass field while there
are black balloon covering the sky. It is an event that will be hard to duplicate. The
balloon was captivating and Garry Winogrand made sure to prove to everyone that
it did exist. It was indeed a beautiful sight because there was one single tree within
these people and it added to the beauty of the event. Garry Winogrand tried to convey
that principle in his photographs because he wanted to proof that these events were
actually happening. Furthermore, he wanted to let people know that no one made to
events up. With his photographs all the scenes that he saw can be proven
Apple Took Advantage Of The Great Recession
Q1. Apple took advantage of The Great Recession (2007 2009) after many of its
competitors had bankrupt or suffered from huge losses, causing an excessive of the
amount of the unsold components that the manufacturers had produce. They could
not find a market that can buy them, Apple sees that as an opportunity to buy those
components, such as memory chips and LCDs, at lower prices and in most the time
at cost, and use it as a competitive advantage in its manufacturing.
Apple s management had predicted its margins to be shrieked for the next 5 years; as
a cause of that recession that reshaped the market. The management took a fast and
smart decision and they predict the market after they analyzed it and found out that
they can make better future by using the low prices of the parts, rather than
downsizing.
Apple had adapted to the market change by developing the app revolution, where
developers (most of them are apple s customers) can design and program their own
apps and generate profits, which added about 300,000 jobs to the U.S. economy.
They also provided app developers with the tools and distribution they need to bring
their best ideas to tens of millions of its customers worldwide.
Sharing their customers with developing their products build a strong and long
relationship between them, and that s an long term adaptive to the future market
where the customers are more involved and they value their services over the prices.

Health Insurance Fraud Essay
Faking a death is the most common type of life insurance fraud and has even been
the plot of many movies, books and shows; although it is difficult to pull off. This
occurs after a person takes out a life insurance policy on their self and after a few
months of it being in effect they disappear and are declared dead. Then the
beneficiary, a family member or spouse, then attempts to collect the life insurance

Double billing is a scheme that is common in health insurance fraud. Doctors will bill

Insurers can refuse to pay claims or delete claims, deny or cancel coverage as well
as underpay medical expenses. Fraudulent insurance companies can also collect
premiums and pay for inexpensive care before disappearing if a large claim is filed.
It has also been known for companies to look through insurer claims to intentionally
drop them saying the insurer did not disclose previously.
One of the most targeted insurance lines is auto insurance fraud. There are many
known schemes that take place in this fraud that can vary in seriousness and
complexity. There are small schemes to defraud; filing multiple claims for a single
injury, filing claims for vehicle damage or injuries that were not caused by and auto
accident and padding the cost of repairs. The schemes can become more complex
involving staged accidents, faking injury or falsely reporting a stolen vehicle.
Other schemes in auto insurance fraud occur mostly to avoid paying higher
premiums. People might register their car in a different town so they have cheaper
rates. It is also common for fake primary drivers to be listed to avoid a bad driving
record or young drivers that are indeed the sole driver. Another scheme is a policy
holder reporting a false auto insurance claim that occurred before the policy period

Orbital debris come from a variety of human activity in orbital space. One major
source of orbital debris comes from launched rockets and man made satellites[1].
When a rocket is launched, the upper stage booster that gives a spacecraft its final
boost into orbit is often left in orbit[2]. These boosters may stay in orbit for
decades and if there is still fuel remaining inside them they may explode and create
a cloud of debris[2]. One example was when a Chinese Long March 4 exploded on
March 11, 2000 [3]. The payloads of the rocket often contribute greatly to the
amount of orbital debris as well. In 2009, two satellites smashed into each other
and created a cloud of debris with over a 1,000 pieces longer than 10 centimeters
[4]. While collisions between debris do not add to the total mass of debris in orbit,
they do add to the number of smaller pieces and increase the chances of further
collisions in the future[4]. There were even cases where debris was created from
intentional destruction of satellites in order to test anti satellite weapons[5]. The
amount of debris is increasing with human activity in space.
The growing number of orbital debris inconveniences and even endangers future
space missions. Low mass particles often impact the solar panels of spacecraft in
orbit[6]. This creates a

Abstract
People who were hospitalized with mental illness had a high risk of death and short
life span from physical disorders even in Nordic or Scandinavian countries that have
most socially progressive healthcare. This research study were compared the number
of deaths from circulatory system diseases in patients with bipolar and schizophrenia
and reviewed the life expectancy in these patients. The results showed a huge decline
in life expectancy of ten to twenty years in patients with schizophrenia and slightly
smaller in bipolar patients, both when compared to the general population.
Life Span and Mortality from Physical Ailments in
Patients with Bipolar Disorder or Schizophrenia in Scandinavia The higher number
of deaths from physical disorders in patients with schizophrenia and bipolar
disorder has been well established (Bushe et al., 2010; Manderbaka et al. , 2012).
The most common cause of death such as cardiovascular diseases in the Nordic or
Scandinavian countries, that have the most socially progressive healthcare, has
dropped recently but not for men and women in the same region who had been
hospitalized due to bipolar disorder or schizophrenia. The number of deaths from
cardiovascular diseases is excessive (Osby et al.,
Proposition to Reface Mount Rushmore
Over the years, America has produced many people worthy of having their faces
chiseled into a large rock for all to see. Although the current Mount Rushmore
possesses faces that are very important and worthy, they are no longer relevant in
today s society. The proposition I have for the re facing of Mount Rushmore is sure
to be relevant and inspiring to Americans for centuries to come. Edgar Allen Poe was
an American poet and short story composer whose writings have influenced literature
for a century and a half. Calvin Coolidgewas a strong leader who was appointed to
presidential office in the 1920s. He also had a very awesome last name. Bob Dylanis a
nearly prophetic poet and song writer, the voice of a generation, and an inspiration
to many. Jennifer (Stelter) Schubert is a tenacious woman who has overcame trials
and tribulations daunting to any human and came out on top. I propose that the
faces of Edgar Allen Poe, Calvin Coolidge, Bob Dylan, and Jennifer Schubert be
carved into Mount Rushmore for their impact on past and present American society,
leadership qualities, and overall awesomeness. Edgar Allen Poe is credited with the
composition a poem that has been extremely prominent throughout the past century
and a half The Raven . But this was not the only work that has stuck with
Americans all of these years; Poe was a man of many talents and troubles. Edgar
Allen Poe was born to two actors whom he never really got to know. He was
separated from his siblings
The Exchange Rate And Auto Parts Manufactures
The case study The Exchange Rate and Auto Parts Manufactures shows two
companies which are suppliers to the US automobile company DaimerCrhrysler, and
that companies based outside of the US. As the consequence of the importing
machines from the United States, companies faced difficulties based on the exchange
rate fluctuations.
First company SMS were faced difficulties with the exchange rate of USD and euro.
The CEO of the SMS Elotherm company, Udo Pfeiffer, took measures to avoid the
loss. He raise price in dollars to compensate the fall in the value of dollar, but finally
manufacturers were constantly pressuring machine tool companies to lower prices,
not to raise them .
Another example of company shows us a company that was much more successful
than SMS, Keiper, which based in Germany and exporting metal frames for cars to
the US. Company invest money in the manufacture in Canada, when the exchange
rate of euro were equal to the US dollar. But there were some disadvantages of
being based in Canada and it raised a costs of the Keipers work. In addition,
company faced problems with exchange rate because the company still produces
some parts in Germany and sent to US.
Every country has its own currency, which is a means of payment and allows various
types of financial transactions within the country. However, between different
countries is also necessary to make any cash payments or transactions. An exchange
rate measures the value of one currency against the value

At the end, we assume that they almost signed a complete contract which should
avoid any kind of hold up. On the other hand, we have the contract with MGM. It
took about one yeariii for MGM and the Cirque to agree on the terms of a contract for
a residential show. Here, the time was clearly too short to get close to perfect
foresight, description and communication in the contract which means that the
contract was incomplete. At the end, both conditions for a hold up were fulfilled with
MGM: Relationship Specific Investment and incomplete contract. While Cirque du
Soleil always insisted on having the creative force for all productions, MGM Mirage
and Disney had very high initial relationship specific investments by building huge
theaters. However, neither company feared opportunism nor has there been an
attempt to vertically integrate Cirque into either company.
Now that we have seen that a hold up was possible with the Cirque s partner, let s
see if we might have such problems within the company (internal hold up).
Actually, it s possible that the employees hold up the firm: When they decide to
produce a new show, the Cirque has to invest in order to train the artists and once
they are trained, they could ask for a higher salary. We could also argue that the
Cirque could hold up the employee because once he is trained, his knowledge is
very specific to only one show and cannot be used by any other circus. At the end, we
see that
The Ethics Of Big Data And An Individual s Privacy
The Ethics of Big Data and an Individual s Privacy What is Big Data? Big Data is
the mass collection of user data by mathematical algorithms, databases, data
mining, and the use of datasets that were once believed to be static and unusable.
Big Data s history goes way back ...70 years to the first attempts to quantify the
growth rate in the volume of data, or what has popularly been known as the
information explosion (Press, Gil). Researchers had predicted the massive growth
of information and how our ability to collect and store it would need to continue
to grow as well. Libraries would be considered the first cataloging of human
information, but as software and hardware continued to grow in the ability to
collect and store data information is now happening at an astronomical rate. To
get a glimpse, or bigger picture, of Big Data here are a few facts of how much data
is being generated and managed (Villanova University): 1)Per IBM, users create
2.5 quintillion bytes of data every day. In practical terms, this means that 90% of
the data in the world today has been created in the last two years alone. 2)Walmart
controls more than 1 million customers transitions every hour, which are then
transferred into a database working with over 2.5 petabytes of information. 3)Per
FICO, the credit card fraud system helps to protect over two billion accounts all
over the globe. 4)Facebook holds more than 45 billion photos in its user database, a
number that is growing daily 5)

Unfortunately, Kyrgios and Tomic are undermining Hewitt s authority and making a
laughing stock of a proud and once great tennis nation. Australian tennis can be great
again, but it will require the two brightest young stars to mature and realize the bigger
picture of what they represent. Until then, Hewitt will lie in bed, wrapped in an
Australian flag, softly singing the Aussie national anthem to himself and wishing he
was still young enough to carry the Australian torch.
Logarithms In The Pre-Calculator Era
In contemporary mathematics, the arithmetic computations that make up the
complex subject have been eased by the calculator, allowing for revolutionary
discoveries and endeavors by mathematical scholars. However, what can be said of
the conduct of mathematicians before the introduction of the calculator? I certainly
find it crucial to understand this, for the pre calculator era is what shaped the subject
into the core study of success. In the classroom the unit of trigonometrythe dynamic
analysis of the triangle and its properties is notorious for functions and operations that
rely heavily on the calculator. I know this from experience, but I also know that there
must have been a way to handle the aforementioned functions and
operations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Essentially, this is equivalent to the properties of logarithms in the modern day
classroom, without the Log Table of course. But, why is this important? The answer
is the same for logarithms as it is for the forgotten trigonometric functions: it was
easier and quicker for mathematicians and dilettantes at the time.
Understanding the conduct and purpose of pre calculator logarithms, it can be
applied to the infamous world of trigonometry. In her article Lamb states, Near the
angle Оё=0, cos(Оё) is very close to 1. (Lamb) Therefore, to perform certain
computations such as subtracting 1 from cos(Оё) would yield a very precise result
one that, without a calculator, would be nearly impossible to render. When
significant figures are taken into account (that is, the resulting number without
leading or trailing zeroes; a popular application in chemical sciences and advanced
mathematics), the level of complication can build drastically if only so many of
them are present in an answer. And while that may not be a problem in one s early
arithmetic, it can prove devastating later on.
But not only do the special trigonometric functions, which I will name shortly,

The narrative power of sound in Pan s labyrinth
The film that I have chosen as a case study for my final paper is: Pan s labyrinth
(2006) by director Guillermo del Toro, and it is a case of real fantastic cinema. Here I
present my essay entitled The narrative power of sound in Pan s labyrinth of
Guillermo Del Toro. It will analyze the sound design , the identification of its
elements, the ways in which they are presented and their interrelations, to understand
and explain how these elements work together in conjunction with the visual image,
to support the narration of the story. Consequently, this research seeks to answer the
question: How does the sound in the film Pans Labyrinth relates to ... Show more

It is within this framework that I consider important to study the way in which sound
is built and used in audiovisual products to narrate, generate sensations and configure
worlds , real and fantastic, respect to the reality of the history of fiction (which may
not coincide with reality as the viewer knows it in his own life, but that this
understands and accepts as the reality of history that is being counting within the
audiovisual piece).
As Balsam refers , a sound can create emphasis in any scene that is, can function as a
punctuation mark , when it accentuates and strengthens the visual image.
This time we will focus on the analysis of the sound of a film that, in addition, to be
well achieved according to my personal appreciation, has been nominated for
several awards for sound and has won some of them. It is then a proposal that, when
like others, it is convenient to analyze and understand, to take from it what works
best for us or interest, or for our future productions. For this I have chosen the feature
film Pan s labyrinth (2006) by director Guillermo del Toro; in charge of the sound
Martin
HernГЎndez, Jaime Baksht and Miguel ГЃngel Polo. I choose this movie because I
think, (and this is what I am trying to proof with this work) , that it has a sound
design very detailed and congruent with what the story tells, in which all the elements
come together to create a fantastic world fairy
Individual Behavior
The state of chronic absence from work. Absenteeism is usually addressed through
progressively stricter disciplinary measures that can result in the termination of the
individual s employment. This is generally governed by the organization s attendance
policy. The employee handbook frequently documents expected attendance and
consequences for absenteeism. The role of the supervisor in managing absenteeism
According to the most recent CCH Unscheduled Absence Survey, employers are
losing ground when it comes to keeping workers on the job. Unscheduled
absenteeism rates have risen to their highest level since 1999. What continues to be
of most concern is that almost two out of three employees who don t show up for

The goal is to foster an open and supportive culture. The procedures are in place to
make sure that help and advice is offered when needed and to ensure that the
employee is fit to return to work. Employees will usually appreciate the opportunity to
explain genuine reasons for absence within a formalized structure. Should the
supervisor doubt the authenticity of the reasons given for absence, he/she should use
this opportunity to express any doubts or concerns. At all times, the employee must
be aware that the interview is not merely part of company procedures, but a
significant meeting during which the absence has been noted and may have
implications for future employment. The company s disciplinary procedure, in the
event of unacceptable levels of absence, should be explained to the employee. The
manager may choose to outline how the absence affected the department. The
message should be that the employee was missed and that productivity suffered. The
manner in which the department was required to reorganize staffing arrangements
might also be explained. This would demonstrate that the efficiency of the work unit
was adversely affected by the absence. The supervisor should then brief the returning
employee about the current situation (i.e., what tasks are now priorities, what work
has already been carried out and where the employee should now focus his/her
efforts). At no point during the meeting should the interview become a form of

Guinea Pig By Guinea Pigs
Once upon a time, on the coastal cliffs and rocky shores of Animal Island, there
lived a sea guinea pig. He was young and curious and loved adventure. He would go
diving down to the ocean floor to discover the colorful fish that swam through the
bright sea plants, and he loved to explore the small underwater caves that dotted the
edges of the reef.
One day Guinea Pig was basking in the sunshine. It was almost always cloudy where
he lived, and it was a rare day when the sun was out. As Guinea Pig sunned himself
on the shore, his eyes scanned the great, vast ocean. It was so big, and he was so

Octopus probably isn t even real, He told himself. I ll be fine. And he stood up and
began to walk down to the water s edge.
But strangely enough, he couldn t see the gold anymore! It no longer shined and

Oh, the sun is setting, Guinea Pig thought, disappointed. It s not shining on the gold
anymore, so I ll have to wait until tomorrow, when I can see the gold again.
Guinea Pig could hardly sleep that night. His heart was filled with excitement and

a dream filled slumber. In his dreams he was King of Animal Island, and he told
everyone what to do. Everyone was servant to him. They catered to his every wish
and worshipped him because he was so rich.
Morning finally broke, and Guinea Pig quickly ate breakfast and headed down to the
waterfront. It was another sunny day, and the sun shone brightly on the gold.

How Napoleon Maintains Control in France 1799 1814
After the long period of instability in France, Napoleon seemed to acknowledge the
importance of maintaining his power, influence and control over France and the
French people. Napoleon was very able in this regard as it is important to make the
people to support you and to limit opposition, something that Napoleon and Hitler
shared in common. Napoleon maintained his power in many different ways,
rewarding people that supported him, repressing people who didn t, censoring
material that would harm his regime and producing other material to boost its
popularity. He also controlled things which were important for everyday people like

The next way that Napoleon maintained his control was through Repression, to limit
any opposition to his regime. Napoleon created Code Napoleon to bring uniformity
of the law to all of France. This Code was illiberal, restrictive, authoritarian and
brought order. Napoleon then banned trade unions and introduced The Livret . He
also introduced harsher Criminal and Penal codes with new courts, tribunals for
political offenders, arbitrary imprisonment without trial and house arrest. All these
changes gave Napoleon perfect power to remove any opposition, as he had
influence of appointment of judges and the Supreme Court. Napoleon also used the
police, which monitored public opinion, used a network of spies and informants.
Napoleon also had his own secret police so that he had supreme power to remove
anyone at all that stood against him. Napoleon also appointed Prefects for each
department which was important as it made a connection between local and central
government and Napoleon made the prefects responsible for propaganda, education
and conscription within each region, so Napoleon could make sure that he kept his
support through out France. This repression was important as Napoleon could
prevent any opposition from developing which may threaten his regime, as many
normal people wont do anything if there is no organised opposition to turn

the book tried too hard with symbolism, it overflowed with it. Too much
symbolism can muddle the book, and can sometimes be even better if it is stripped

many different aspects of personality, which also is a theme in The God of Small

Historic Building Code Essay
Abstract
While historic buildings have benefited greatly from decades of regulatory reform, a
new generation of advocacy is required to address issues of building integrity . For
historic buildings, introducing building codes may present a challenge that can stifle
the historic preservation tenet applied to the historic structure whether it be
preservation, restoration, rehabilitation or reconstruction. Building codes are a set of
regulations that provide for a minimum standard that would safeguard the health,
safety, and welfare of building occupants. Within the context of historic preservation,
building codes allow for the repair, alteration, relocation, and even change in
occupancy for the respective historic building. Each state and ... Show more content

These remedies would have to be reversible and cannot be obtrusive to the character
of the historic structure. There is usually some abstruseness with how a historic
building is revitalized since the local government may amend a code to suit a
particular need. The intent of building codes are to provide the minimum requirement
in buildings, to secure the beneficial interests of public safety, health and general
welfare, by regulation all new construction, additions, alterations and repairs of
buildings. The first code of published by the International Code Council (ICC) to
address the historic structures was the International Building Code. This code allowed
the availability of rehabilitation codes and established a subcommittee to oversee
those codes.
It is not until a project or building is undergoing consideration, that codes must
reflect the requirements that were not previously required in older buildings. At
the time period that historic buildings were designed there was little to no need for
egress or ADA accessibility. For instance, the code requires at least two means of
egress from the upper floors of a building. The purpose in requiring two exits exists
on the premise that should fire or other emergency block the escape route through
one of the exits, the second exit is available to building occupants. Buildings in the
1950s were only provided with one exit
Leadership And Management Sound Like The Same This To

Leadership and Management sound like the same this to the layman. But there are
distinct differences and approaches that reap separate results. John P. Kotter wrote an
analysis on the comparison between the Manager and the Leader. According to
Kotter, management is more organizational centric and focuses on the preparation for
complexity. Being able to create specializations within companies, protocols, and a
number of procedures reduces discussions decisions on issues after the fact. If a there
is a particular concern the dedicated department can source their efforts toward the

Kotter categorizes Planning Budgeting as a management function because it is,
Deductive in nature and designed to produce orderly results. This Differentiates from
setting direction because the plan is a long range goal set by the company. The
changes in the goal may need influence from supervisors and managers to maintain
the momentum, the effectiveness, and efficiency of their departments. This implies
the Leader s role to effectively implement such direction, according to the culture of
their environment. The Travel Related Services Division of the Credit Card

accounts for 65% of its world acreage and 54% of the production (Biyani et al.,

known to provide a good quality combination of fodder for livestock, green manure
and food. Mungbean is known to fix atmospheric nitrogen and its symbiotic
association of nodulated roots and Rhizobia has enabled farmers to save money on
procuring N fertilisers. If grown in a cropping system mungbean s rhizodeposition
abilities might contribute significantly to higher C and N availability in soils to
succeeding crops (Zang et al., 2015). Mungbean has low input requirements and has

and much of Europe in the 1960 s. She healthily maintained a 5 ft 6 1/2 inch 90 lb
body. Based on her thin figure, a nickname of quot;Twiggy quot; was derived.
Twiggy s popularity not only produced many people who tried to look like her but
also drastically increased the hourly wages of models.
She paved the way for current top models like Kate Moss, Elle MacPherson, ... Show

Twiggy s success soared when she made her first visit to America. On March 20,1967
the second she stepped off the plane she was swarmed by fans, and was candy to the
media s eyes. She was like a fever that spread.
Everyone wanted a piece of her. Her pictures were everywhere. Twiggy s popularity
allowed her to charge revolutionary high prices an hour. She charged as much as
$240 an hour opposed to a 50 s top model like Suzy Parker who only received about
$40 an hour (Century of Models). Once again Twiggy set the standard for 90 s top
models to earn outrageous sums of money. For example, the 90 s Twiggy (Kate
Moss) earns about 26.3 million dollars a year.
One reason for Twiggy s great success was that the public had never seen anyone
like her. She had a completely new look that took the entire world by surprise. During
the 40 s, long limbed, and sophisticated was the trend. In the 50 s, a more curvaceous
womanly look (Marilyn Monroe) was in.
Twiggy set the 60 s waiflike standard. What a leap from Marilyn to Twiggy. They
were almost completely opposite. Twiggy s influence is still seen on today s runways
and television.
The current day Twiggy is Kate Moss. Her figure is strikingly similar (Twiggy 31 22
32, Moss 33 22 35) (Century of Models). Remarkably, Twiggy s favorite thing to eat
was ice cream, bananas and hot fudge, she doesn t drink or smoke but quot;eats like
a horse quot; (Time). Twiggy is
1050 s Film Industry Analysis
After the 1050 s television became a very popular form of entertainment. Because of
the cost of a TV set there were only a few sets in the home of the consumer. For post
World
War II Americans, television largely took the movies place as a dominant cultural
influence.
The television reached audiences far larger than those attracted by motion pictures,
and it projected images right into family s living rooms. The Paramount decision
effectively disintegrated the studio system, major studios survived by changing the
ways they did business and establishing practices (still in use today) that dramatically
reduced their controls of production and exhibition, and that reduced their out as well.
This brought an end to the system of mass ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Meanwhile, movie attendance continued to decrease and in the 1960 s movies were
on television prime time in the evenings. The major studios were getting far more
watch time hours of telefilm then feature films at that time. Despite competition from
television s increasing technological sophistication over time in the 1960 s and 1970
s the development of color television and large screens, motion picture cinemas still
continued. By the 1970 s the movie industry, even with the fact of the rise of
television s predominance, began to become more respected as an artistic medium.
This was the turning point for the theater.
In the mid 1970 s the movie industry seemed to have a huge recovery with the
phenomenal success of Jaws. The movie was released in 1975 and after its release
there seemed to be a new breed of blockbusters like Star Wars (1977), Grease (1978),
and Superman (1978).
All of these films were very successful that resulted in record box office revenue. The
New
Hollywood was born and the success of this blockbuster syndrome reinforced an
Analytical Essays On Analytical Psychology
Jung, C. G. (1972). Two essays on analytical psychology
Jung s Two Essays on Analytical Psychology includes the works The Unconscious
in the Normal and Pathological Mind and The Relation of the Ego to the
Unconscious, which are 1928 revisions of previously written papers. Jung, who
was Freud s well known disciple from 1909 to 1914, held ideas different from
Freud s and Adler s that eventually led to personal differences between them,
particularly with Freud; their followers have continued these differences. One of the
point of disagreement is Jung s opinion that Freud s concept of the libido is too
concerned with sexuality and that Adler s will to power is also too simplistic.
Alternatively to Freud, he calls the libido the basic tank ... Show more content on

On the other hand, Freud and Adler had difficulty in refusing the development of both
humanity and the individual and were rigid in their beliefs.
Jung believed that psychic energy had its foundation in the tension of opposites; this
energy could only be used when the proper gradient was found. He also introduced
two very different theories of neurosis, with the first focusing the object and the
second emphasized the subject, are viewed as manifestations of an oppositional type.
The introverted personality type focuses on the subject while the extraversion type
focuses on the object; however, these two types are rare observed in their
unadulterated state. Moreover, the dynamics of a relationship between individuals
who retain contradictory personality types was examined by Jung. Alternatively, to
contrast with the concepts of Freud and Adler, they describe neuroses as sometimes
allocating useful adaptive functions.
The Unconscious in the Normal and Pathological Mind
Jung considers and discusses the concept of the collective unconscious as well as its
role in the process of transference within psychotherapy. He suggests that the
traditional method of dream analysis which must be followed by a discussion when it
is believed that the symbols presented originated in the collective unconscious. Jung
has noted the process of unification of the
The Napoleonic Er The Causes Of The Napoleonic Era
The Napoleonic Era can be said to have begun with the Coup of 18 Brumaire, which
overthrew the Directory (and is often believed to have brought the French Revolution
to a close), and established the French Consulate, along with the appointment of
Napoleon as First Consul in the winter of 1779. Preceding this time, the French were
fighting a loosing battle against the Ottomans throughout Egypt, Greater Syria, and
the Levant. Once Napoleon became the de facto ruler of France, he began massive
reforms. The spread of citizens rights into law began, representative assembly took
hold, religious toleration became the norm, the country was re organized into
departments, and the metric system was invented. Upon becoming First Consul,
Napoleon established... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At this time, France also sold their North American continental holdings to the
Americans in the Louisiana Purchase . Britain cancelled the treaty in May 1803,
and war resumed. Europeans formed seven coalitions between 1792 1815 to defeat
French forces. In May of 1804, Bonaparte had himself declared Emperor, and
crowns himself in the company of a (bribed) pope. The Code Civil became Code
Napoleon and Napoleon codified French law into statutes. In 1805, the bulk of the
most noteworthy Napoleonic victories of the Era begin to occur, such as those of
Ulm, Trafalgar (including the death of Lord Nelson), and Austerlitz, resulting in the
defeat of the Holy Roman and the Russian Empire. The Confederation of the Rhine
was created at this time and initially included 16 member states, with Saxony and
Westphalia joining later. In 1806, British marines (temporarily) seize Buenos Aires
from Spain, and are expelled by local militias in 1807. Napoleon also begins naming
family member to various governmental posts in earnest, including Joseph to the post
of King of Naples. During this time, Prussia joins Britain and Russia, and the Battle
of Jena is fought and lost by the
Supplementation Of Vitamin And Mineral Supplementation
Essay
Supplementation among United States residents has been rising for the past few
years. While many research studies have been conducted, supplementation has been
shown to contain benefits for the population, many more have also found adverse
effects that are found in supplementation. This paper sought to review the research on
vitaminand mineral supplementation, and establish a conclusion on this subject. This
paper follows the supplementation use in the United States for the past few years,
and supplementation status among the population. It then reviews the benefits of
supplementation relating to overall deficiency and some diseases such as
cardiovascular disease and diabetes. It then reviews insignificant supplements studies,
adverse effects of supplementation, and the benefit of consuming vitamins and
minerals through food rather than through supplements. The research available on
supplementation contains more evidence to support that vitamin and mineral
supplementation have no effect on the majority of the population, and can have
possible negative effects. However, since the data is somewhat unclear and non
conclusive, it is safe to say that some may consume supplements, but only as needed.
The Effects of Dietary Supplementation in U.S. Residents
Introduction
Supplementation among United States residents has been a rather divided issue, as
supplements can both benefit and harm an individual. According to the National
Center for Health Statistics, dietary

Process Essays. Writing process essay pdf. 19 Examples of Process Essays. 2019-02-11

  • 1. Process Essays Writing an essay on the topic of "Process Essays" can be both challenging and rewarding. The difficulty lies in the need to effectively convey a step-by-step process while maintaining clarity and coherence throughout the entire piece. Here are some reasons why it might be considered a challenging task: 1. Precision in Instructions:Process essays require precision in conveying instructions. Every step must be articulated clearly, leaving no room for ambiguity. Ensuring that readers can easily follow the process might demand meticulous attention to detail. 2. Organizational Skills:Crafting a well-organized essay is crucial. The steps of the process must be presented in a logical sequence, allowing readers to grasp the flow effortlessly. Poor organization can lead to confusion and may detract from the effectiveness of the essay. 3. Balancing Detail and Conciseness:Striking the right balance between providing enough detail for understanding and being concise is a constant challenge. Too much detail may overwhelm the reader, while too little might leave them confused. 4. Engaging the Reader: Keeping the reader engaged throughout the essay is vital. The challenge is to present the information in a way that captivates the audience, making them interested in following the entire process. 5. Clarity in Language: Using clear and straightforward language is essential. Complex vocabulary or convoluted sentences may hinder comprehension, defeating the purpose of a process essay. 6. Avoiding Repetition:It's important to avoid unnecessary repetition of ideas or steps. Each part of the process should contribute to the overall understanding without unnecessary redundancy. Despite these challenges, writing a process essay can be a rewarding experience. It allows the writer to showcase their ability to explain complex procedures and share valuable insights. Overcoming these difficulties results in a piece that not only educates but also engages the audience. • 2. Pt-305 Research Papers The PT 305 was manufactured by Higgins Industries in New Orleans. The keel (foundation of the ship) was laid down on March 30, 1943 at the City Park Plant. The ship was launched on May 27, 1943 and was later completed at the Industrial Canal Plant on December 8, 1943. For the American Navy, the boat was a critical asset in the days after Pearl Harbor when the United States were short on larger vessels and facing an onslaught of attacks from the Japanese. The actions of PT boat crews in the Philippines and Solomon Islands represent an outstanding example of the American Spirit in action. The ship was used by the allies in WWII and for that reason I m going to be explaining how the ship was made, from raw to materials to manufacturing plants,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In June 2006, The National WWII Museum was contacted by the Defenders of America Naval Museum about the possible transfer of PT 305. The vessel was transported to the Museum campus in April 2007. With the help of the faithful Higgins boat volunteers, PT 305 has been completely restored to her wartime condition. Everything except the weapons are fully operational. Its home is now a custom built boathouse on Lake Pontchartrain, where guests will be able to purchase tours and rides on the boat. One of the ships was completely restored and set to be moved to a museum back in its hometown. There s nothing like this anywhere, said Stephen Watson, the museum s chief operating officer (NY Times, 1). We ve always tried to do things here that bring history to life in an unexpected way (NY Times, 1). The maneuver on Saturday, with the 50 ton boat riding on a 64 wheeled, remote controlled crawler, certainly caught some pedestrians by surprise. Others just had to see it with their own eyes. Jerry Lousteau s standard poodle, Satchmo, barked at the boat as it deftly navigated the right turn off Magazine Street onto St. Joseph Street a little after 7:30 a.m. Mr. Lousteau said that his father in law was wounded on Iwo Jima during the war, but he confessed he had come out because he just was fascinated by a giant moving operation (NY Times, 1).

Accessed 31 January 2018. Polar bears are declining in numbers as the sea ice is diminishing. There are fewer than 25,000 polar bears left in the wild, the population has dropped about 40 percent between 2001 to 2010, from 1,500 to 900 bears. Not only has the number of polar bears decreased, but they have been acting strangely as their surroundings continue to decrease. The different strategies that polar bears are using to survive are what s keeping them alive, according to Becker the polar bears are changing their appetite by eating a species of dolphins that got trapped in the melting ice. Also, the polar bears have started eating snow geese eggs as a backup source of food. In addition, the bears are starting to spend more time on the shores during the summertime instead of hibernating. Lastly, the polar bears are so desperate to eat that they end up eating human food and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Hassol, these climate changes are being experienced especially intense in the Arctic, Arctic average temperature has risen at almost twice the rate as the rest of the world in the past few decades (8). These trends aren t stopping anytime soon. The ongoing increases in concentrations of greenhouse gases in the earth s atmosphere are causing an acceleration in these climate trends according to Hassol. Climate change is going to have major impacts on the earth, for example the sea ice melting. Hassol talks about how this could be seen either positive or negative. For the creatures in the Arctic like the seals and polar bears, the sea ice melting is very harmful to them. However, the reduced sea ice could increase marine access for shipping and offshore oil extraction. However, an increase in those activities would just further complicate the

Discoveries in Chemistry and Their Impacts on Public Life DISCOVERIES IN CHEMISTRY AND THEIR IMPACTS ON PUBLIC LIFE INTRODUCTION Every single day, without even realising it, we use so many things that are brought to us by the discoveries and advances in chemistry. Many of these things we take for granted, and don t even bother to question how it got there, why it is there, and how it works. Chemistry makes up everything in our lives, from the air that we breathe, to the plastic on the keyboard I m typing on now, and a in depth study of some of the wonderful things chemistry has do for the modern day world, will help us to appreciate everything we have a great deal more. • 5. What Does The Mask Symbolize In Fahrenheit 451 When something consumes you such as a society and tells you what you have to be, how do you avoid the mask? The poem We Wear the Mask by Paul Dunbar and the novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury both use a mask as a symbol. The mask symbolizes how closed off people are, and how they hide themselves and their emotions from society. These masks are worn to protect yourself from the cruel and treacherous society that has been created. The new society has taught people how to cover up their true emotions with these fake smiles and shining eyes. This maskholds back all the sorrow, protects you from being further destroyed by others words or actions, and covers up the real extreme problems people are facing such as suicide and drug overdose. In a photograph that Garry Winogrand capture, there is an adult couple each holding a baby monkey in their arms. This scene was taken in the streets of a busy city sidewalk. Not only is it a strange scene but it would have certainly been hard to believe if you did not see it with your own eyes. However, with the photograph that Garry Winogrand took, there is evidence that that scene actually existed. Even though there is probably an immensely high chance that the same scene would happen again, the photograph will always prove that the small event did exist. Another example would be when Garry Winogrand took a photograph of people laying on a grass field while there are black balloon covering the sky. It is an event that will be hard to duplicate. The balloon was captivating and Garry Winogrand made sure to prove to everyone that it did exist. It was indeed a beautiful sight because there was one single tree within these people and it added to the beauty of the event. Garry Winogrand tried to convey that principle in his photographs because he wanted to proof that these events were actually happening. Furthermore, he wanted to let people know that no one made to events up. With his photographs all the scenes that he saw can be proven

Apple took advantage of The Great Recession (2007 2009) after many of its competitors had bankrupt or suffered from huge losses, causing an excessive of the amount of the unsold components that the manufacturers had produce. They could not find a market that can buy them, Apple sees that as an opportunity to buy those components, such as memory chips and LCDs, at lower prices and in most the time at cost, and use it as a competitive advantage in its manufacturing. Apple s management had predicted its margins to be shrieked for the next 5 years; as a cause of that recession that reshaped the market. The management took a fast and smart decision and they predict the market after they analyzed it and found out that they can make better future by using the low prices of the parts, rather than downsizing. Apple had adapted to the market change by developing the app revolution, where developers (most of them are apple s customers) can design and program their own apps and generate profits, which added about 300,000 jobs to the U.S. economy. They also provided app developers with the tools and distribution they need to bring their best ideas to tens of millions of its customers worldwide. One of the most targeted insurance lines is auto insurance fraud. There are many known schemes that take place in this fraud that can vary in seriousness and complexity. There are small schemes to defraud; filing multiple claims for a single injury, filing claims for vehicle damage or injuries that were not caused by and auto accident and padding the cost of repairs. The schemes can become more complex involving staged accidents, faking injury or falsely reporting a stolen vehicle. Other schemes in auto insurance fraud occur mostly to avoid paying higher premiums. People might register their car in a different town so they have cheaper rates. It is also common for fake primary drivers to be listed to avoid a bad driving record or young drivers that are indeed the sole driver. Another scheme is a policy holder reporting a false auto insurance claim that occurred before the policy period

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Orbital debris come from a variety of human activity in orbital space. One major source of orbital debris comes from launched rockets and man made satellites[1]. When a rocket is launched, the upper stage booster that gives a spacecraft its final boost into orbit is often left in orbit[2]. These boosters may stay in orbit for decades and if there is still fuel remaining inside them they may explode and create a cloud of debris[2]. One example was when a Chinese Long March 4 exploded on March 11, 2000 [3]. The payloads of the rocket often contribute greatly to the amount of orbital debris as well. In 2009, two satellites smashed into each other and created a cloud of debris with over a 1,000 pieces longer than 10 centimeters [4]. While collisions between debris do not add to the total mass of debris in orbit, they do add to the number of smaller pieces and increase the chances of further collisions in the future[4]. There were even cases where debris was created from intentional destruction of satellites in order to test anti satellite weapons[5]. The amount of debris is increasing with human activity in space. The growing number of orbital debris inconveniences and even endangers future space missions. Low mass particles often impact the solar panels of spacecraft in orbit[6]. This creates a

Life Span And Mortality From Physical Ailments Life Span and Mortality from Physical Ailments in Patients with Bipolar Disorder or Schizophrenia in Scandinavia Chanathip Mason Emotional Behavioral Disorders Mental Health Theory November 15, 2016 Fresno city College Abstract People who were hospitalized with mental illness had a high risk of death and short life span from physical disorders even in Nordic or Scandinavian countries that have most socially progressive healthcare. This research study were compared the number of deaths from circulatory system diseases in patients with bipolar and schizophrenia and reviewed the life expectancy in these patients. The results showed a huge decline in life expectancy of ten to twenty years in patients with schizophrenia and slightly smaller in bipolar patients, both when compared to the general population. Life Span and Mortality from Physical Ailments in Patients with Bipolar Disorder or Schizophrenia in Scandinavia The higher number of deaths from physical disorders in patients with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder has been well established (Bushe et al., 2010; Manderbaka et al. , 2012). The most common cause of death such as cardiovascular diseases in the Nordic or Scandinavian countries, that have the most socially progressive healthcare, has dropped recently but not for men and women in the same region who had been hospitalized due to bipolar disorder or schizophrenia. The number of deaths from cardiovascular diseases is excessive (Osby et al.,
  • 13. Proposition to Reface Mount Rushmore Over the years, America has produced many people worthy of having their faces chiseled into a large rock for all to see. Although the current Mount Rushmore possesses faces that are very important and worthy, they are no longer relevant in today s society. The proposition I have for the re facing of Mount Rushmore is sure to be relevant and inspiring to Americans for centuries to come. Edgar Allen Poe was an American poet and short story composer whose writings have influenced literature for a century and a half. Calvin Coolidgewas a strong leader who was appointed to presidential office in the 1920s. He also had a very awesome last name. Bob Dylanis a nearly prophetic poet and song writer, the voice of a generation, and an inspiration to many. Jennifer (Stelter) Schubert is a tenacious woman who has overcame trials and tribulations daunting to any human and came out on top. I propose that the faces of Edgar Allen Poe, Calvin Coolidge, Bob Dylan, and Jennifer Schubert be carved into Mount Rushmore for their impact on past and present American society, leadership qualities, and overall awesomeness. Edgar Allen Poe is credited with the composition a poem that has been extremely prominent throughout the past century and a half The Raven . But this was not the only work that has stuck with Americans all of these years; Poe was a man of many talents and troubles. Edgar Allen Poe was born to two actors whom he never really got to know. He was separated from his siblings

The Exchange Rate And Auto Parts Manufactures The case study The Exchange Rate and Auto Parts Manufactures shows two companies which are suppliers to the US automobile company DaimerCrhrysler, and that companies based outside of the US. As the consequence of the importing machines from the United States, companies faced difficulties based on the exchange rate fluctuations. First company SMS were faced difficulties with the exchange rate of USD and euro. The CEO of the SMS Elotherm company, Udo Pfeiffer, took measures to avoid the loss. He raise price in dollars to compensate the fall in the value of dollar, but finally manufacturers were constantly pressuring machine tool companies to lower prices, not to raise them . Another example of company shows us a company that was much more successful than SMS, Keiper, which based in Germany and exporting metal frames for cars to the US. Company invest money in the manufacture in Canada, when the exchange rate of euro were equal to the US dollar. But there were some disadvantages of being based in Canada and it raised a costs of the Keipers work. In addition, company faced problems with exchange rate because the company still produces some parts in Germany and sent to US. Every country has its own currency, which is a means of payment and allows various types of financial transactions within the country. However, between different countries is also necessary to make any cash payments or transactions. An exchange rate measures the value of one currency against the value

The two initiators of this company, Guy LalibertГ© and Daniel Gauthier, have always seen circus with a modern eye. Effectively, their power of creativity and their visionary ideas have been the key ingredients to make this circus a global empire. The comparative advantage which makes the Cirque du Soleil so unassailable is its creative inspiration and the perfection of its shows. It took about one yeariii for MGM and the Cirque to agree on the terms of a contract for a residential show. Here, the time was clearly too short to get close to perfect foresight, description and communication in the contract which means that the contract was incomplete. At the end, both conditions for a hold up were fulfilled with MGM: Relationship Specific Investment and incomplete contract. While Cirque du Soleil always insisted on having the creative force for all productions, MGM Mirage and Disney had very high initial relationship specific investments by building huge theaters. However, neither company feared opportunism nor has there been an attempt to vertically integrate Cirque into either company. Now that we have seen that a hold up was possible with the Cirque s partner, let s see if we might have such problems within the company (internal hold up). Actually, it s possible that the employees hold up the firm: When they decide to produce a new show, the Cirque has to invest in order to train the artists and once they are trained, they could ask for a higher salary. We could also argue that the Cirque could hold up the employee because once he is trained, his knowledge is very specific to only one show and cannot be used by any other circus. Big Data is the mass collection of user data by mathematical algorithms, databases, data mining, and the use of datasets that were once believed to be static and unusable. Big Data s history goes way back ...70 years to the first attempts to quantify the growth rate in the volume of data, or what has popularly been known as the information explosion (Press, Gil). Researchers had predicted the massive growth of information and how our ability to collect and store it would need to continue to grow as well. Libraries would be considered the first cataloging of human information, but as software and hardware continued to grow in the ability to collect and store data information is now happening at an astronomical rate. To get a glimpse, or bigger picture, of Big Data here are a few facts of how much data is being generated and managed (Villanova University): 1)Per IBM, users create 2.5 quintillion bytes of data every day. In practical terms, this means that 90% of the data in the world today has been created in the last two years alone. 2)Walmart controls more than 1 million customers transitions every hour, which are then transferred into a database working with over 2.5 petabytes of information. 3)Per FICO, the credit card fraud system helps to protect over two billion accounts all over the globe. 4)Facebook holds more than 45 billion photos in its user database, a number that is growing daily 5)

Logarithms In The Pre-Calculator Era In contemporary mathematics, the arithmetic computations that make up the complex subject have been eased by the calculator, allowing for revolutionary discoveries and endeavors by mathematical scholars. However, what can be said of the conduct of mathematicians before the introduction of the calculator? I certainly find it crucial to understand this, for the pre calculator era is what shaped the subject into the core study of success. Essentially, this is equivalent to the properties of logarithms in the modern day classroom, without the Log Table of course. But, why is this important? The answer is the same for logarithms as it is for the forgotten trigonometric functions: it was easier and quicker for mathematicians and dilettantes at the time. Understanding the conduct and purpose of pre calculator logarithms, it can be applied to the infamous world of trigonometry. In her article Lamb states, Near the angle Оё=0, cos(Оё) is very close to 1. When significant figures are taken into account (that is, the resulting number without leading or trailing zeroes; a popular application in chemical sciences and advanced mathematics), the level of complication can build drastically if only so many of them are present in an answer. And while that may not be a problem in one s early arithmetic, it can prove devastating later on. But not only do the special trigonometric functions, which I will name shortly,

The little blue dragon flapped around for a minute trying to get it off. Then realized that it looked quite nice on himself. Pyrox happily perched back on Annabeth s shoulder, making her smile. Who knew that she would befriend a dragon? For all the animals and creatures in the world, this little dragon had became her friend. Loud gears and machine parts started to rumble and turn. Annabeth looked down to see the platform slowly move forward and attach to another room. There was a large metal door on the other side, a couple beds and a sink. One reason for Twiggy s great success was that the public had never seen anyone like her. She had a completely new look that took the entire world by surprise. During the 40 s, long limbed, and sophisticated was the trend. In the 50 s, a more curvaceous womanly look (Marilyn Monroe) was in. Twiggy set the 60 s waiflike standard. What a leap from Marilyn to Twiggy. They were almost completely opposite. Twiggy s influence is still seen on today s runways and television. The current day Twiggy is Kate Moss. Her figure is strikingly similar (Twiggy 31 22 32, Moss 33 22 35) (Century of Models). The introverted personality type focuses on the subject while the extraversion type focuses on the object; however, these two types are rare observed in their unadulterated state. While many research studies have been conducted, supplementation has been shown to contain benefits for the population, many more have also found adverse effects that are found in supplementation. This paper sought to review the research on vitaminand mineral supplementation, and establish a conclusion on this subject. This paper follows the supplementation use in the United States for the past few years, and supplementation status among the population. It then reviews the benefits of supplementation relating to overall deficiency and some diseases such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes. It then reviews insignificant supplements studies, adverse effects of supplementation, and the benefit of consuming vitamins and minerals through food rather than through supplements. The research available on supplementation contains more evidence to support that vitamin and mineral supplementation have no effect on the majority of the population, and can have possible negative effects. However, since the data is somewhat unclear and non conclusive, it is safe to say that some may consume supplements, but only as needed. The Effects of Dietary Supplementation in U.S. Residents Introduction Supplementation among United States residents has been a rather divided issue, as supplements can both benefit and harm an individual.
