Online Vehicle Rental System
PROPOSAL FOR AN ONLINE VEHICLE RENTAL SYSTEM
A DISSERTATION PROPOSAL SUBMITTED IN PARTIAL FULFULLMENT OF THE UNIT (
PROJECT, UNIT CODE) BIT 2221.
JUNE 2012
ABSTRACT
This project is being considered in order to reduce and totally eliminate loss of customers to
competitors, and save the company from folding up. The current system is manual and it is time
consuming. It is also cost ineffective, and average return is low and diminishing. Currently, customers
can call or walk in in order to rent or reserve a vehicle. The staff of the company will check their file
to see which vehicle is available for rental. The current system is error prone and customers are
dissatisfied. The goal of this project is to automate vehicle rental ... Show more content on

It will be easy for the company staff to keep track of available, reserved or rented vehicle so as to
avoid the confusion of reserving one vehicle for two clients which is a common problem when using
manual systems To the Client/customer
The customer will not have to travel to the company offices for Him to reserve of rent a vehicle. He
will do so at the comfort of his home or office.
1.4 Problem Statement
Currently the system being used is a manual one where clients have to come physically into the office
in order for them to rent or reserve a vehicle. The system poses a number of challenges that include:
1. Time consuming
In the current system, clients have to come to the company offices physically in order to rent or
reserve a vehicle which is a waste of time.
When there are many clients to be attended to it may take long for the company staff to serve all of
them.
2. Error Prone
The company staff are very likely to make errors when using the current manual system, for example
it is very easy to reserve one car for two clients, under charge or overcharge a client.
3. Cost
The operating cost of the current System is high but with the implementation of the Automated
System only a few no of staff will be able to run the System.
1.5 Proposed solution
The problems of the current System will be addressed by the development of an online vehicle rental
and reservation System so that customers do not need to walk in or call in

Social Contract Is The Linchpin Of Democratic Governance
John Locke s Theory of Social Contract is the Linchpin of democratic governance Discuss.
Since the beginning of human civilisation, social contracts have helped structure how people and
governments worked together. It is the view that persons moral and/or political obligations are
dependent upon a contract or agreement among them to form the society in which they live. This essay
sets out to discuss John Locke s social contract theory and the dictum that it is the linchpin of
democratic governance. The essay starts by defining key concepts namely social contract and
democratic governance, and moves on to look at John Locke s philosophy and its relevance to
democratic governance today.
Social contract is defined by American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language (2011) as a
usually implicit agreement among the members of an organised society or between the governed and
the government defining and limiting the rights and duties of each.
Democratic Governance according to Chama and Maguire (2005) is defined as a system of
government where institutions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The only difference being replacing Federative power by Judicial power. In Zimbabwe and indeed
other African States we have opted to use Parliament in place of federative power. Such variations are
common across Africa.
The major problem facing countries is non adherence by the governments to the Social Contract
principles as propounded by John Locke. John Locke argues that if the government does not fulfil its
obligations, citizens can challenge it and choose another Government. According to John Locke this
can only happen at the end of the contract that is after the government s term of office. This is what is
prevailing on the ground today. However in some countries the people have gone contrary to Locke s
ideas and have taken confrontational approach that was advocated by

Mrs. Macteer and Mrs. Breedlove
Parental guidance and support are key components of the foundation of a child s growth and
development. Without either, a child cannot grow and develop properly. In her novel The Bluest Eye,
Toni Morrison examines the effect of different mothers on their respective children through the
characters of Mrs. MacTeer and Mrs. Breedlove. Throughout the novel, both characters express their
thoughts and feelings through words, with Mrs. MacTeer having a few fussy soliloquies and Mrs.
Breedlove having a few interior monologues to get their points across. Although Mrs. MacTeer and
Mrs. Breedlove are two entirely different individuals, their respective fussy soliloquies and interior
monologues greatly reflect one another. Giving to charity doesn t ... Show more content on

She simply gave up on ever feeling glamorous or happy, something that is only fueled by the growing
unhappiness of her marriage. As she stated, Cholly poked fun at me, and we started fighting again...He
begin to make me madder than anything I knowed (Morrison 123). As much as she tried, Mrs.
Breedlove could no longer escape her unhappiness. It was simply escalated by the cinema. From the
very beginning of Pecola s life, her mother ingrains in her the idea that she is ugly a concept that Mrs.
Breedlove herself is viewed as due to her missing front tooth and her skin color. After her birth, she
refers to Pecola as being a right smart baby but a cross between a puppy and a dying man. But I
knowed she was ugly. Head full of pretty hair, but Lord she was ugly (Morrison 126). Mrs. Breedlove
acknowledges that Pecola is a smart girl, but doesn t view it as an impressive quality. Instead, she
focuses on the fact that her daughter is unattractive. As Spies mentions, even by her own mother,
Pecola has been denied the slightest notion of being valuable or worthy of love (Spies 15). By denying
value and love to her daughter, Mrs. Breedlove is instilling in Pecola the same self hatred that Cholly
and society has instilled in herself. Mrs. Breedlove s unhappiness is unquestionably the reason for
Pecola s own dissatisfaction and unhappiness. Although Mrs. MacTeer and Mrs. Breedlove are two
entirely different individuals, their thoughts are

RFID Implementation Essay
RFID Implementation
Once a company decides to use RFID, the most important step in the process is being able to
successfully gather the data and manipulate it into meaningful information. Doing this as effectively
and efficiently as possible requires a proper RFID implementation, which for many reasons, can prove
to be the most difficult stage of the entire process. A company new to RFID will find that many
changes have to take place to make sure the implementation is as successful as possible. Ensuring a
successful implementation involves changes in all fundamental areas of the company, including their
systems and products (Zebra Technologies). While these changes will prove to be difficult, many
companies find that they can conduct ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Having meaningful information means it can be easily integrated into any of the company s
applications, and can give them a real time view of all of their supply chain processes. These benefits
are all possible using RFID middleware, but it is a step that is often overlooked during implementation
(Implementing RFID). Ignoring the importance of middleware, many companies have found that the
large amounts of data they receive from the system becomes too much to manage, thus leading to
problems with the integration of the system and overall performance of the company.
With more companies becoming aware of the importance of middleware in their implementation, there
is a need developing for a powerful middleware solution to handle all of the technical features of the
system. The middleware should be able to handle both passive and active RFID sensors to ensure data
can be gathered from all products. The full potential of the system will not be realized if only a limited
number of sensors and readers can be detected. In addition, there are also a number of data and server
considerations that can be fulfilled by a middleware package. Its job is to make sure the correct
information from each tag can be pulled from the server when necessary (Implementing RFID). This
can be done by taking the relevant information from various business applications over the Web. A
strong middleware package should also be able to show all operations and inventory movements in
real time to

Nicholas became extremely unpopular among the Russian lower classes, bringing about an inevitable
Revolution. Fulgencio Batista, the son of poor farmers in Cuba, was elected president in 1940. At the
beginning , he greatly improved the education and economy. However, his term ended in 1944, when
he moved to Florida. During that time, corruption made its way back to Cuba, so Fulgencio;s return
through an overthrow of the government was widely welcomed by the people. To their astonishment,

High School Sports Center Research Paper
School sports provide physical, social and emotional benefits for the students and they also create
opportunities for students to be involved in the overall school community, and resonate with the
school values. However, all these benefits and opportunities can easily be missed if the school lacks a
modern and engaging sports center. If you think that it s time for your school to modernize its athletic
facilities, here are a few tips that will help you get the desired results.
Choose a multi sport court design
Most schools have major sports which usually gets all the attention, and participates in major
competitions. Nevertheless, even if your team has a long standing tradition of playing a certain sport,
things can change with each generation. So, consider a court design that can accommodate popular
sports like basketball or volley, but also consider tennis, football, soccer and other sports with
increasing popularity. Thinking in advance will pay off in the future. If space is a problem, consider
portable equipment.
Work with local gym equipment dealers

of view. However, local dealers can save you a lot of trouble in the long run. Their proximity allows

sports events. The Sideline Interactive Scorers Tables allow for unlimited advertising space. They

The Character of Richard III as Shakespeare Presents Him...
The Character of Richard III as Shakespeare Presents Him to Us
Shakespeare presents Richard to us in a very negative way. Richard is portrayed as an evil person who
is attracted to the power that the throne could bring him and would take whatever risk is necessary.
Driven by his need for power he manipulates and murders his way to the throne.
Richard shows himself as a manipulator right from the start of the play. He tricks Clarence and makes
him think that he has nothing to do with his arrest. But what s the matter Clarence? May I know?
Clarence is the first person that Richard manipulates in a long line of victims. Richard also
successfully manipulates Anne. He manages to get her to marry ... Show more content on

Richard after Buckingham has walked of calls him back and accepts the throne. How far I am from the
desire of this. Richard with the help of Buckingham does brilliantly here to change the minds of the on
looking mayor and citizens. Richard also cleverly manipulates the Lord Mayor. He does this by
pretending that Hastingsposes a threat to everybody s safety. Look back, defend thee, here are
enemies! However his attempts to manipulate people are not always successful. Towards the end of
the play Richard seems to have lost his touch. Prince Edward realises that Richard is not telling the
truth. God keep me from such false friends, but they were none. This is also true when Richard tries to
persuade Queen Elizabeth to help him marry her daughter. But how long fairly shall her sweet life
last?......As long as hell and Richard likes of it. Richard has failed to convince the Queen but he is not
aware of this. He also fails to manipulate Lord Stanley. Richard kidnaps his son hoping that will be
enough to secure his loyalty, however it was not and he had to face him in battle. My lord he doth
deny to come.
Richard even though he threw the throne away had to be very clever to get to the position in the first
place. It took great judgment of time and carefully crafted plans to succeed. The way that Richard

Macbeth as a Tragic Hero in William Shakespeare s Play Essay
Macbeth as a Tragic Hero in William Shakespeare s Play
The play Macbeth by William Shakespeare charts the rise and fall of the Scottish general Macbeth,
through a tale of treachery, deceit and death. First performed in 1606 Macbeth is inspired by a story of
the Scottish monarchy. A tragic hero is one who at the outset is not wholly good or bad but has a
character fault that causes them to make tragic mistakes resulting in their eventual downfall. Macbeth
is a renaissance tragedy and we can see that Macbeth s decisions to move away from war hero to
noble aggressor as an example of him being an archetypal renaissance tragic hero. We can define
Macbeth as a renaissance tragedy because Macbeth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The difference between kingship and tyranny is highlighted in this play from the outset. King Duncan
is a virtuous king who always puts the needs of his subjects before the needs of himself, whereas
Macbeth as King is solely concerned with his own needs.
The three main causes of tragedy as identified by Aristotle, a Greek philosopher, are all contained
within Macbeth . The first of these causes is revenge, which is shown by MacDuff as he sets out on a
quest to avenge the murder of his kinsman Duncan. Secondly, a fall from greatness or De Casibus is
clearly shown by Lady Macbeth, who at the start of the play is possibly the strongest character but
throughout the course of the play degenerates into madness resulting in her suicide. Finally and most
importantly of all ambition is clearly shown as the driving force behind the murders of Duncan and
Banquo. By exploring revenge, De Casibus and ambition Shakespeare transforms Macbeth from a
historical play into a tragedy.
The tragedies of William Shakespeare often include a tragic hero. A tragic hero is one who brings
about his own ruin and the ruin of those he loves. The tragic hero is not necessarily evil; he is simply
human and has human flaws. Often there is a fatal flaw which leads to his downfall. In the play
Macbeth the tragic hero is the central protagonist, he is tempted by the chance to take the

It is interesting to see and reveal the misconceptions of President Obama s motive to the speech for
more gun control and how politicians and individuals are stressing an emotional and safety concern.
Within this political environment, and with a charismatic and persuasive use of the pentads, the rhetor
s motive was to implement legislation regarding gun control. Barack Obama as the rhetor, directed
towards American people to pressure congress to pass new gun legislation in Connecticut, where the
massacre took place. After the December 16, 2012 shooting at Newtown Connecticut, there has been a

Charles Dickens Hard Times For These Times
Fancy is a noun. It means the power of the mind to imagine things. Do not think about it; do not think
about thinking about it. Just memorize it. Can you? There is only one right path that society has
pinned you on. Like a toy car on a wooden train track, you are expected to complete the course
without straying from it. If you do, you are considered broken. Yet, what exactly is the point of
mindlessly walking the same path as everyone else, only to constantly find yourself memorizing
empty facts over and over again? In Hard Times for these Times, Charles Dickens embodies the
consequences of an absolutely factual world: blindness, imbalance, and nonfulfillment. Through the
convoluted stories of the opposite worlds, Sissy s journey to becoming a jewel of balance, Louisa s
tragic fight for fulfillment, and the harmonious character Sleary, Dickens defines the urgency for the
proportional combination of fact and fancy.
Gradgrind s education system is structured to plucking imagination and emotions out of the lives of
children, resulting in dangerous, machine like human beings. He closed mindedly abides to rules and
facts; dreams and abstractness is a crime. For example, Bounderby, Gradgrind s subordinate, insists
that his workers expect to be fed on turtle soup and vension, with a golden spoon (72), while on the
other hand, the workers believe that they are unfairly treated like dumb objects. Both Bounderby and
the workers think their opinion is the fact, but it shrivels

The Basic Idea Of Science
THE BASIC IDEA
In the field of physical science it has been proved that absolutely everything can be scientifically
reduced to one ultimate invisible Essence, something which cannot be contacted by the physical
senses. It is therefore only reasonable to say that originally everything must have, and still does, come
from It. According to one s way of thinking, different names are given to It: Energy, Principle,
Universal Intelligence, Universal Mind, Consciousness, Spirit, God.

That too is an inescapable realization drawn from the premise of an infinite being. The Infinite cannot
be one with just one of us. It must be one with every one of us. Each and everyone is one with the
infinite One, God. If you doubt that Jesus came to this conclusion, then consider one question: Why
did he say that when we pray we should pray to Our Father, rather than his Father? We are all one with
the infinite One. I think that we must accept this premise because it is reasonable; but my insistence
that others think and reason as I do would be unreasonable. Anyone can ignore the infinite One; they
just can t be separate or apart from It. We can ignore our heritage, our inheritance and our inherent
nature. Nevertheless it is with us, even thou we deny it. You can ignore reality, but it doesn t go away.
One Reality The Apostle Paul wrote: In him we live, and move, and have our being [Acts 17:28] Jesus
said: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. [Lk.
17:21] God would have to be very small to be within all, and very large to include all. However, to
resolve these two extremes, God need only be infinite. Remember what Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote
in his essay, History:
There is no great and no small
To the Soul that maketh all:
And where it cometh, all things are;
And it cometh everywhere. When we envision a God that is omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent

Phoenix Jackson Character Analysis
As I previously analyzed Phoenix Jackson s character, I closely examined the external characteristics
that her person consisted of, such as her behavior and physical attributes. In Saunders analysis of
Phoenix Jackson, he deciphers her in great depth utilizing his extensive research of other works of
literature and legends. He comes to the overall conclusion that Jackson is a character that can be
dissected in nearly infinite ways depending on the dissector s point of view. In both of our analysis,
we concentrated our focus on differing aspects of Phoenix Jackson that can be mutually supported and
formulate another perspective of Phoenix Jackson.
In my analysis, I elaborate on the characteristics of Phoenix Jackson that she exhibits physically that
could act as key elements in determining what her true mentality is. Saunders article inversely focuses
on the abstract qualities of Phoenix Jackson and her character being an instrument in enlightening the
reader about many themes. His interpretation of one of his sources, Neil Isaac, enhanced my thesis

tasks. She copes by mentally preparing herself to do small feats such as going up a hill and traversing
the frozen earth. In Saunders article, he elaborates on her senility by stating The nurse had asked six
times about the condition of her grandson before Phoenix was inclined to answer. Perhaps we should
accept this as an indication of senility. By examining this singular quality of Phoenix Jackson, a
portion of our research

The Pros And Cons Of Pesticides
Abstract
Chemistry is considered from a lot of people as the science of the future. The ability of chemical
products to contribute the increase of the standard of living of the society, it seems inexhaustible. A
field that grew due to chemistry is pesticides. Pesticides are organic or non organic substances that
comes from natural or artificial origins, that they are applied against natural enemies such as insects,
fungi s, pests, but also any other substance that protects preharvest the crops in the field or the
glasshouse or later(post harvest), during the storage period of the agricultural products. Every year,

populations. There are pesticides that are no effective, non chemical, reliable, friendly alternatives that

when there are no effective enough alternatives that are available or not effective to control pest

The Years 1918-1939, Which Separate World War I From World
The years 1918 1939, which separate World War I from World War II, witnessed profound changes in
how technologically advanced military organizations would fight. In most of the cases, during
peacetime, military innovation, and technological developments played an empowering or helping role
in advancing profoundly new and more operative ways of fighting. In a narrow and strict sense, such
innovative improvements were revolutionary. The technological revolution reached the battlefields
and forever changed the way that armies required from the fragile airplanes and unreliable tanks of
World War I to evolve into more sophisticated weapons by the late 1930s. Amount military
innovations which influence the inter war period, we will focus our ... Show more content on

These principles are known as Die Truppenfuhrung and shaped the framework for the preparation and
conduct of ground operations during World War II. This studies emphasized friction and uncertainty. It
requires responsibility and exercises judgment for junior officers in the battlefield. It also focuses on
the greater use of armored combined to army capabilities on maneuver. Consequently, to the influence
of World War I boosted Germany to develop early by the 1920s the coherent combined arms doctrine
that focused on decentralization command and control or mission type orders, speeding, surprising, or
the aggressive exploitation of every weakness in enemy defensive systems.
One of the lessons learned after the first world conflict is the necessity of using the third dimension on
military operations. That assumption has been conceptualizing by theorist through doctrine and
implements differently from one country to another. The doctrine concerning air force warfare was a
direct influence of World War I as a revolution on this domain. The challenge of many military
theorists concerned the emergence of the aircraft as a weapon and the adaptation of this emerging
capability on military operations. One of the Airpower advocates Giulio Douhet consider the airpower
as a tool to use to avoid trench warfare and dramatically shorten wars. Thus, aircraft would attack an
enemy s sources of assets and it is the key to destroying the

Assessment Of Mental Health Counseling
Assessment in Mental Health Counseling
Starting from the day that we come into the world, we begin to develop personal pieces of a puzzle
and as we grow we try as we might to fit these pieces into our own individual and unique puzzle. As
this time progresses, we sometimes find that some of the pieces will fit, but we also find at times that
no matter how hard we try, some pieces never fit, , even when we try to force them in place. In fact,
some people say that when we try to force these pieces into the puzzle, it can result in a challenge(s)
that can last a very long time unless we seek someone who can help us fit these pieces into the puzzle
instead of trying to place by ourselves.
Luckily, there is someone who can help, and that someone is trained to assess a client correctly in
order to gain enough information to help a client turn their lives around. Having a solid understanding
of the client s background is a must if a counselor is to help that client with his/her issues. There are
certain times in a person s life when they need some help finding the pieces they may have lost along
their personal journey. A good counselor who is well trained and understands the assessment role of
mental health counseling can seek out information that is needed in order to help a client find a piece,
or pieces of the puzzle, that the clients been missing.
The assessment process can be the most important role of the counseling that will take place when
counselor meets

Differences And Similarities Between The Australian And...
Countries all around the world are controlled by strict police systems in order to maintain a peaceful
and safe environment. The Australian police system and the German police system have many
similarities, but also have their differences. When comparing the two, points to take into consideration
is overall appearance, history and purpose of the police system.
Appearance among the public is an important factor that Australia and Germany considered when
establishing their current police system. Both countries are determined to create a positive image
surrounding their police force and avoid the stigma related to police in places like the US. Australian
police officers predominately wear a blue uniform, which is consistent across all states, ... Show more

The initial reason for Australia creating their police force was a bombing on a Sydney hotel in 1978,
and within a year it was created to deal with nation wide issues such as terrorism. Up until this time,
the Commonwealth ran a police force but there were several issues revolving around this. In May
1927, Parliament House was opened which increased the necessity for a stronger police system in
Australia however it took many years to establish one. On the other hand, Germany has a much longer
and more controversial history relating to their police system. The Landespolizei, who are the state
police, date back to the late 19th century, when Germany united into a single country in 1871. When
Germany became a dictatorship in 1933 under Adolf Hitler and the Nazis, all police forces were
absorbed into the Ordnungspolizei. They were responsible for Nazi Germany s law enforcement and
protection of the country at the time. The organisation existed until the end of World War II in

event is for those who have recently completed eighth grade through those who graduated on the year
it is being held. Presbyteries from not along all over the United States, but also the globe, come
together for a week to strengthen one another s faith. My pastor had spoken to my incredibly small
congregation about the option of going to Triennium, and immediately I knew I would go, even if I
was the only one. Attending Triennium the summer preceding my freshman year, was a very valuable
experience in my life. At Triennium, I gained value through confidence and opening up. Being
dropped in a room with twenty five strangers, all of which whom are older than I was, was beyond
frightening, but that is how my experience at Triennium began. Not only did everyone around me look
and act different but they also talked differently; at least I was told that I talked differently than they
did. Towards the beginning of the week, being labeled as different made me not want to talk. I stayed
quiet for most of the week when I was in a small group. The last few days I began to talk a little more
each time, and though I spoke different, people commented on the positivity of that difference. On the

Clem Miniver Short Story Essay
This film took me on an emotional rollercoaster. From beginning to end the film shook me up and kept
me on my toes. I decided not to look up the movie before hand so I wouldn t expect anything or see
things coming. I can honestly say I was invested the entire time. The story was phenomenal and the
filming was superb. I thought I was going to dislike this film but its now in my top 20. The film is set
in 1939 in a small town in London, during World War Two. They live on the river in a beautiful huge
house. The main family is the Miniver family. Which consist of Mr. and Mrs. Kay and Clem Miniver,

Hebrew Bible Identity
The origin of the Hebrew Bible is unknown, but scholars believe the earliest collections of writings
first five books date back to nearly 3,500 years ago. The Pentateuch consist of these first five books.
The Old Testament, which it is also known as, influenced its time period and still continues to do so
today. The exile of the Judean people led their scholars to preserve their cultural identity through the
Hebrew Bible s usage of chiasm, repetition, and kinesthetic imagery. Each literary device was
designed so the audience could memorize the details and elite could easily pass down the stories
orally. In a society where only the professional elite read and wrote, The Bible was written down in a
series of years by a serious of these elites. It is believed to be written after the Babylonian Captivity.
The Judean people were first exiled to Babylon, and forced to assimilate into a society with a whole
other creation myth. The people of Judah were uprooted from their homes and forced to a new land,
Babylon. However, the exile ended at approximately 538 BCE when Cyrus The Great conquered
Persia and released the Jews back to Palestine. Upon return, scholars believe the first words of The
Bible were written. The first words were written because in times of grief and despair, religious
growth follows. So, when the Jews from Babylon returned home, a sense of spiritual renewal occurred
which forced the hands of scribes to document their faith, (Barton 369).

Developing And Managing Offerings Organizations Essay
Developing and managing offerings organizations is among the list of high risk any organization can
make. These are decisions that can lead to bankruptcy if it fails nonetheless firms needs to
continuously seek for ways to meet those needs if they must stay in business. Sure, in your area you
have seen some businesses shut their doors after just a few periods of existence. Some firms like
Adidas, Samsung, and Nike have more than one product while others have just one. What is certain in
this relationship is that the development process follows seven steps principles, but may differ based
on the business make up and the organization. The first step of this process is idea development. Idea
Generation.
Conception phase or idea generation make up part of the job description of the management team of a

including the revenue generating prowess of the different products, which after looking and financial

The Econ River Wilderness Area is an amazing little swatch of how central Florida used to be. It was
interesting to see how many different ecological areas there were in that small bit of land, I believe
that we counted 7 in total. Each of these habitats were interesting in their own way and by walking
through them and physically seeing how difficult it is to decipher a clear cut line between each habitat
helped me appreciate them even more. After viewing each habitat it became easier to understand how
each overlaps the other. You will have vegetation in the pine flatwoods that should be growing in the
forested wetlands and other vegetation growing in the forested wetlands that should only be growing
in the live oak hammock. It is understandable how someone who is surveying this area would have a

¡§Texts both inform us of the social identities available to us, and problematize them; both police our

Both texts, The Crying Game by Neil Jordan and Loaded by Christos Tsiolkas, use
characters within the discourse to project social identities that have been
problematized due to social constraints. Throughout this essay, I will focus on
sexuality, as this type of social identity has been depicted as a central theme in both
texts. The characters from the texts work to, police and subvert their own sexual
identities within their social milieu.

attraction is towards real men and masculinity, ¡§ Every time I look at a gay man, even

In contrast, the character of Dil in The Crying Game, was portrayed as a transvestite.
Dil is a man that functions in society as a woman. To encourage Dil¡¦s sexual identity
as female, the film failed to reveal Dil as a transvestite until the latter half of the film,
and lead the audience to believe the she was a woman.
Sexual identities have been problematized due to social constraints. Deconstructionist
theories have given motive as to why such sexual identities have been seen as

considered the social norm and any identities varying from this norm would be
considered abnormal thus experiencing unjustness. Foucault debates that, ¡§the social

This essay sets out to discuss John Locke s social contract theory and the dictum that it is the linchpin of democratic governance. The essay starts by defining key concepts namely social contract and democratic governance, and moves on to look at John Locke s philosophy and its relevance to democratic governance today. Social contract is defined by American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language (2011) as a usually implicit agreement among the members of an organised society or between the governed and the government defining and limiting the rights and duties of each. Without either, a child cannot grow and develop properly. In her novel The Bluest Eye, Toni Morrison examines the effect of different mothers on their respective children through the characters of Mrs. MacTeer and Mrs. Breedlove. Throughout the novel, both characters express their thoughts and feelings through words, with Mrs. MacTeer having a few fussy soliloquies and Mrs. Breedlove having a few interior monologues to get their points across. Although Mrs. MacTeer and Mrs. Breedlove are two entirely different individuals, their respective fussy soliloquies and interior monologues greatly reflect one another. Giving to charity doesn t ... As much as she tried, Mrs. Breedlove could no longer escape her unhappiness. It was simply escalated by the cinema. From the very beginning of Pecola s life, her mother ingrains in her the idea that she is ugly a concept that Mrs. Breedlove herself is viewed as due to her missing front tooth and her skin color. After her birth, she refers to Pecola as being a right smart baby but a cross between a puppy and a dying man. But I knowed she was ugly. Head full of pretty hair, but Lord she was ugly (Morrison 126). Mrs. Breedlove acknowledges that Pecola is a smart girl, but doesn t view it as an impressive quality. Instead, she focuses on the fact that her daughter is unattractive. As Spies mentions, even by her own mother, Pecola has been denied the slightest notion of being valuable or worthy of love (Spies 15). By denying value and love to her daughter, Mrs. Breedlove is instilling in Pecola the same self hatred that Cholly and society has instilled in herself. Mrs. Breedlove s unhappiness is unquestionably the reason for Pecola s own dissatisfaction and unhappiness. These benefits are all possible using RFID middleware, but it is a step that is often overlooked during implementation (Implementing RFID). Ignoring the importance of middleware, many companies have found that the large amounts of data they receive from the system becomes too much to manage, thus leading to problems with the integration of the system and overall performance of the company. With more companies becoming aware of the importance of middleware in their implementation, there is a need developing for a powerful middleware solution to handle all of the technical features of the system. The middleware should be able to handle both passive and active RFID sensors to ensure data can be gathered from all products. The full potential of the system will not be realized if only a limited number of sensors and readers can be detected. In addition, there are also a number of data and server considerations that can be fulfilled by a middleware package. Its job is to make sure the correct information from each tag can be pulled from the server when necessary (Implementing RFID). This can be done by taking the relevant information from various business applications over the Web. Macbeth as a Tragic Hero in William Shakespeare s Play Essay Macbeth as a Tragic Hero in William Shakespeare s Play The play Macbeth by William Shakespeare charts the rise and fall of the Scottish general Macbeth, through a tale of treachery, deceit and death. King Duncan is a virtuous king who always puts the needs of his subjects before the needs of himself, whereas Macbeth as King is solely concerned with his own needs. The three main causes of tragedy as identified by Aristotle, a Greek philosopher, are all contained within Macbeth . The first of these causes is revenge, which is shown by MacDuff as he sets out on a quest to avenge the murder of his kinsman Duncan. Secondly, a fall from greatness or De Casibus is clearly shown by Lady Macbeth, who at the start of the play is possibly the strongest character but throughout the course of the play degenerates into madness resulting in her suicide. Finally and most importantly of all ambition is clearly shown as the driving force behind the murders of Duncan and Banquo. By exploring revenge, De Casibus and ambition Shakespeare transforms Macbeth from a historical play into a tragedy. The tragedies of William Shakespeare often include a tragic hero. A tragic hero is one who brings about his own ruin and the ruin of those he loves. The tragic hero is not necessarily evil; he is simply human and has human flaws. • 15. Charles Dickens Hard Times For These Times Fancy is a noun. It means the power of the mind to imagine things. Do not think about it; do not think about thinking about it. Just memorize it. Can you? There is only one right path that society has pinned you on. Like a toy car on a wooden train track, you are expected to complete the course without straying from it. If you do, you are considered broken. Yet, what exactly is the point of mindlessly walking the same path as everyone else, only to constantly find yourself memorizing empty facts over and over again? In Hard Times for these Times, Charles Dickens embodies the consequences of an absolutely factual world: blindness, imbalance, and nonfulfillment. Through the convoluted stories of the opposite worlds, Sissy s journey to becoming a jewel of balance, Louisa s tragic fight for fulfillment, and the harmonious character Sleary, Dickens defines the urgency for the proportional combination of fact and fancy. Gradgrind s education system is structured to plucking imagination and emotions out of the lives of children, resulting in dangerous, machine like human beings. He closed mindedly abides to rules and facts; dreams and abstractness is a crime. For example, Bounderby, Gradgrind s subordinate, insists that his workers expect to be fed on turtle soup and vension, with a golden spoon (72), while on the other hand, the workers believe that they are unfairly treated like dumb objects. That too is an inescapable realization drawn from the premise of an infinite being. The Infinite cannot be one with just one of us. It must be one with every one of us. Each and everyone is one with the infinite One, God. If you doubt that Jesus came to this conclusion, then consider one question: Why did he say that when we pray we should pray to Our Father, rather than his Father? We are all one with the infinite One. I think that we must accept this premise because it is reasonable; but my insistence that others think and reason as I do would be unreasonable. Anyone can ignore the infinite One; they just can t be separate or apart from It. We can ignore our heritage, our inheritance and our inherent nature. Nevertheless it is with us, even thou we deny it. You can ignore reality, but it doesn t go away. One Reality The Apostle Paul wrote: In him we live, and move, and have our being [Acts 17:28] Jesus said: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. [Lk. 17:21] God would have to be very small to be within all, and very large to include all. However, to resolve these two extremes, God need only be infinite. Remember what Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote in his essay, History: There is no great and no small To the Soul that maketh all: And where it cometh, all things are; And it cometh everywhere. • 33. Econ River Wilderness Analysis The Econ River Wilderness Area is an amazing little swatch of how central Florida used to be. It was interesting to see how many different ecological areas there were in that small bit of land, I believe that we counted 7 in total. Each of these habitats were interesting in their own way and by walking through them and physically seeing how difficult it is to decipher a clear cut line between each habitat helped me appreciate them even more. After viewing each habitat it became easier to understand how each overlaps the other. You will have vegetation in the pine flatwoods that should be growing in the forested wetlands and other vegetation growing in the forested wetlands that should only be growing in the live oak hammock. It is understandable how someone who is surveying this area would have a difficult time determining the exact habitat they are in. I have done some additional research on this area and have cone to find out that this is an area where a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I have seen the St. Johns River over flow after several hurricanes but because of the size of that rive the amount of water does to be that great but the Econ River is significantly smaller and to see the water marks 3 feet up a tree that was 15 feet above the river s water level really puts the necessity of flood plain areas into perspective. The lack of flood plains seems to be a growing concern with the rapid growth of central Florida and its surrounding areas. • 34. The Crying Game By Neil Jordan And Loaded By Christos... ¡§Texts both inform us of the social identities available to us, and problematize them; both police our social selves and subvert them.¡¨ Both texts, The Crying Game by Neil Jordan and Loaded by Christos Tsiolkas, use characters within the discourse to project social identities that have been problematized due to social constraints. Throughout this essay, I will focus on sexuality, as this type of social identity has been depicted as a central theme in both texts. The characters from the texts work to, police and subvert their own sexual identities within their social milieu. ¡§To claim an identity as a homosexual is to claim a place in a system of social regulation¡¨ (Connell amp; Dowsett, 1992). To encourage Dil¡¦s sexual identity as female, the film failed to reveal Dil as a transvestite until the latter half of the film, and lead the audience to believe the she was a woman. • 36. Essay On My Hero s Journey Looking at the finished product I turned in for Essay 1, I don t think I deserved a 100%. As I read my essay I found nothing but mistakes and points left out. I then went back and read the first draft of that essay and man is there is difference. As I was reading my original essay I found out that I was inserting facts into sentences. That s not bad but no the goal. The goal is to create a story about your hero s journey and relate it to you. Mine was not that. Looking back on workshops and feedback I saw how much my paper had changed and how I raised my bar. I took sentences I had written and moved, created, and formed an essay that was different and better then the first draft; by creating a story. Now using all the knowledge, I have learned throughout the semester, I can use it revise my essay one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
