This document provides instructions for using the online presentation tool Prezi. It outlines how to create an account, build a presentation using templates and frames, add text, images, videos and other media, customize colors and styles, present and share the presentation with others, and set privacy settings for the presentation. The instructions are broken into sections with step-by-step details on how to use each feature in Prezi.

1. Go to Prezi for Education site. http://prezi.com/pricing/edu/
2. Choose Enjoy (free version).
3. Complete the form and follow instructions.

Create a Prezi
1. From the Prezi toolbar, click Your
Prezis.
2. Click the New Prezi button.
3. A new window will open – it may take a few moments.
4. Choose a template. Click Use Template.
Navigate
To edit your presentation using the template, there are two options.
1. Click on the text and images located on the canvas.
2. Use the path sidebar located on the left (recommended).
Path
A path provides zooming features and navigation throughout the
presentation. Using a template, a path is already determined. To
change the path, click Edit Path above the slides.
Move through the navigation by clicking each ‘slide’ in the
sidebar. Use the sidebar to rearrange the order of the objects.
Click the Present button to preview the path.
Add and Edit Text
1. Using the template as a guide, click on the provided text to edit.
2. A cursor appears and an editing toolbar.

3. To add additional text, double-click on the canvas. A text box will
appear. *If you double-click and a box does not appear, move your
mouse away from any objects and double-click again.
Add Frames, Arrows, Lines and Highlighters
1. Click the top toolbar icon, Frames and Arrows.
2. A menu appears with frame options.
Add Frame: Adds a frame at the end of the Prezi.
Draw Bracket Frame: Place your cursor on the
canvas to draw a bracket. Place media or text in
the frame.
Draw Circle Frame: Place your cursor on the
canvas to draw a circle. Place media or text in
the frame.
Draw Invisible Frame: Place your cursor on the canvas to draw a frame
without lines. Place media or text in the frame.
3. From the menu, arrow options appear as well.
Draw Arrow: Click and draw an arrow on the canvas. A toolbar appears
to edit the arrow including size and color.
Draw Line: Click and draw an arrow on the canvas. A toolbar appears to
edit the line including size and color.
4. Highlight important text on the canvas using the highlighter option in the
menu. Click and highlight an area on the canvas.
Edit and Delete Frames, Arrows and more
1. To edit an item on the canvas, click on the item such as an arrow. A
menu will appear called the Transformational Tool.

2. Each item contains various menu options.
Increase the size.
Decrease the size.
Move the item.
Change the frame.
Delete item.
Zoom in to view only the frame.
3. Undo changes by using the undo button located at the top.
Insert Images, Symbols/Shapes and Diagrams
1. From the top menu, choose Insert. A menu appears.
2. Images: Two options appear.
Search Google Images. (Click on the arrow to place a checkmark for
copyright-friendly images).
The selected image appears on your
canvas.
Once you locate an image, click
and drag the image to the canvas.
Upload an Image from your
computer by clicking the Select Files
button. Locate the image file on your computer.
The image appears on the canvas. Click the image to edit size and crop.
3. Symbols and Shapes:
Once you select symbols and shapes, a style menu appears
on the right sidebar. To add shapes only, choose Shapes.

Search or select an item from the sidebar. Double-click to select an item.
4. Diagrams: Once you select diagram, a box appears with options.
Choose the diagram style. To add text, click the provided text. Notice
the various parts of the diagram appear in the slide view.
Insert YouTube Videos
1. Go to YouTube to locate the desired video.
Copy the video URL.
2. Go back to your Prezi. Click the Insert button located at the top of the
screen. Choose YouTube Video.
3. Paste the video URL into the box.
4. Click Insert. The video appears on your canvas. Use
toolbar to move and resize. To view the
video, press the play button.
Insert Files
1. Click the Insert button.
2. Locate the file on your computer.
3. The file appears on your canvas. Click to reveal the toolbar to move,
resize and crop.
Note: Only certain file types can be inserted into Prezi including PDF,
image and many video file types.
Insert PowerPoint
1. Click the Insert button.
2. Choose PowerPoint from the menu.
3. The slides appear from the right sidebar.
4. Click Insert All to include all slides.
5. Click and drag individual slides if you prefer to not include the
entire PowerPoint.
Note: If using a Prezi template, the PowerPoint imports with the template
style.

Insert URLs
1. Click on a text area or double click on the canvas to reveal the cursor.
2. Type the full URL including the http://.
3. Click away from the text box and the links becomes
active.
Edit Template Colors and Style (Title, Frames, Circles)
1. Click the Template button.
2. Choose a different template. The Prezi will immediately change.
3. Click Customize Current Theme to alter certain aspects of the theme. This
includes changing the frame colors and title colors.
Present and Share
1. Click the blue Present button in the top toolbar.
2. Click Allow to activate your keyboard to navigation the Prezi. Use your
left and right arrows to move forward/backward.
Note: In this mode, all editing features disappear. Press ESC on your
keyboard to return to the editing mode at any time.
3. Share your presentations with others by clicking the Share button.
Online Presentation: A box appears with a URL. Copy and paste the
URL into an email or your School Center page. The link may be used

Prezi
for others to follow along with your presentation. The link deactivates
after 10 minutes.
Download PDF: Create a handout of your
presentation in pdf format. It may take a few
minutes to download. Click Save PDF to save the
pdf to your computer.
Download as Portable Prezi: Downloaded as a zip file. View the
presentation from your computer without Internet access.
4. Share the link to your Prezi with others without expiration. Click the Exit
button; the Prezi will save.
5. The editing window closes revealing your presentation. Users can
navigate your presentation any time.
6. Click Share.
7. Change the privacy level. Click Copy URL.
8. Place the URL in an email or School Center page.
Privacy Settings
1. Click the Exit button; the Prezi will save.
2. The editing window closes revealing your presentation.
3. Click Share.
4. Change the privacy level to Private, Hidden,
Public or Reusable. Note the descriptions as you
click on each level.
