Microsoft E Business Suite ( Ebs ) Upgrade
Possibly the most comprehensive change to the daily operations will be the Oracle E business suite
(EBS) upgrade. This IS will provide many solutions to the operations and maintenance managers by
providing total operational oversight at the click of a button. EBS enables users to oversee projects,
asset milestones and budgets, and staff projects. It also has a quick report generator for business
meetings and scheduling. Another feature that will be highly beneficial is the ability for EBS to
integrate and enhance existing programs. It will streamline financials, enhance supply chain
management, and fulfill human capital management requirements. Utilizing the asset lifecycle
management tool within EBS will enhance financial management of our aircraft and equipment items.
It will also calculate the most efficient way to make payments on the aircraft that will maximize the
use of our funds and free up income that can be used elsewhere within the budget. Many of the
equipment items will require calibration from testing measurements and diagnostics equipment
(TMDE) laboratories, which require scheduling and shipping coordination. For this task, the value
chain execution tool would be perfect. It will line up and track the schedule of TMDE items that
require calibration; once the items come due shipping will be coordinated automatically. There are
plenty of applications in the Oracle E Business Suite that the club will utilize for our E Business, as
seen in Table 3 in Appendix A

Leni Riefenstahl Speech
Leni Riefenstahl was one of the most controversial filmmakers of the twentieth century. She was well
known for her imposing propaganda films in support of the Nazi Regime, in which she should be held
accountable for glorifying the Nazi s and her involvement with Hitler. Based on the evidence gathered,
my speech will show that Leni Riefenstahl is guilty as a war criminal for her contribution to Nazi
mayhem. From the earliest accounts of Riefenstahl s career, it is clear that she was prepared to use
others and their money to benefit herself. Riefenstahl and Hitler both shared a close and intimate
relationship. He saw her as the ideal Aryan woman who could promote the motives of power and
beauty. Riefenstahl s feelings for Hitler ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The film received mixed views around the world but most importantly won the support of Hitler who
strongly admired her work. In 1933, Hitler appointed Riefenstahl as film maker for a short film called
Victory of Faith at the Nuremburg Rally. The film was an enthusiastic tool in distributing the Nazi
Party to the German people. However, all copies were removed and destroyed due to the murder of
Ernest Rohm during the Night of the Long Knives. The following year Hitler provided Riefenstahl
with all the resources needed to make Triumph of the Will one of the greatest propaganda films ever
produced. The film promoted several aspects of Nazi propaganda including the concept of the Aryan
Race, Volksgemeinschaft and the glorification of Hitler. These concepts can be seen through planned
events in the film such as, parades, assemblies, images of Hitler and his speeches. In Susan Sontag s
book Fascinating Fascism she states that Hitler himself declared that Triumph of the Will was a totally
unique and incomparable glorification of the power and beauty of our movement . This evidence
shows that Leni used propaganda as a

Arm Wrestling With My Father Rhetorical Analysis
The relationship between a father and their child is tremendously salient, and will influence the life of
both the parent and the adolescent in many ways. Often, it can be difficult for someone to share their
personal relationships that they had with their father, as it can be a very delicate subject. Despite this,
renowned authors Brad Manning and Sandra Cisneros are two people who chose to write about their
unique experiences and childhoods that they shared with their fathers. Both Brad and Sandra felt their
childhood relationships with their fathers were unorthodox. This was explicitly outlined in Brad s
freshman composition paper titled Arm Wrestling With My Father and Sandra s magazine article titled
Only Daughter. Through varying rhetorical strategies, the authors purpose and audience is clearly
portrayed in both selections. One of the most important components to any piece of writing is the
intended audience. In Arm Wrestling With My Father, Manning s intended audience is anyone who
may have had an abnormal or physical relationship with their father. He wanted his paper to be read
by individuals that grew up with a lack of emotional love and an abundance of physical contact with
their fathers. Although there was love between Manning and his father, it was clear that neither party
wanted to acknowledge it. He wrote this in his freshman composition course at Harvard, knowing that
although it was going to his professors, it was meant for anyone who may have experienced

Julian Castro s Status Achievement In The United States
The Democratic National Convention hosted in 2012 were like the conventions in the past in which
key Democrats would conjoin and give speeches to have their candidate elected for president. The
goal of the Democratic National Convention in 2012 was aimed to have President Barack Obama
reelected. One of the commonalities among the speeches from Democrats like Elizabeth Warren,
Julian Castro, and Martin O Malley was the mentioning of the American Dream. By appealing to
American values such as you can achieve anything as long as you work hard and promising to fix the
uneven distribution of resources to the different social classes, people believed that Barack Obama
was the person who understood their plight. The Democratic platform that year stood ... Show more

First of all, my family is Chinese. My parents immigrated into the United States 15 years ago from
Hong Kong and so I am the first generation to go to college in the US. It is important to note that my
parents did not come to the US so that they can attain a higher status but more so because they wanted
to give me a chance to attain a higher status. When we first arrived my mother did not work, and my
father s first job was at a Asian supermarket. The pay was low and there was no coverage of any kind.
We lived at my Aunt s house until we managed to find public housing in Charlestown. Somewhere
around that time my father managed to find a job at Boston Scientific as a Material Handler, and
basically what he does it drive a forklift truck around a warehouse to find and move stock. The job
change did not alleviate my father s nor the family s status. The pay was better and there is health
insurance and retirement plans. However, even with my father working overtime, there is still simply a
shortage in money especially when my twin brothers came along. That was when my mother decided
that she needs to work too and she found herself working as a waitress at two Chinese restaurants. In
terms of jobs, I think my parents did the best they could considering they speak little to no English and
only have a high school education. There is simply not a wide range of options for

Why Esports Become A College Sport
Esports are College Sport Material.
If those reading don t know what Esports are than they are video games that can be played with
multiple people and require skill and effort to win against another team of talented players. Some
people believe esports are not actually sports due to the fact they have no physical attributes, like
many other sports out there. The thing is that these games do require effort and skills, It s just not the
same ones for regular sports. There are even some Esports in specific colleges that have their own
competitive teams. Then for other colleges they believe that because they can t see the skills and
benefits of having Esports teams. Some people believe that Esports should become a more recognised
college sport. Jeff Ruby, chicagomag.com, Chicago Magazine article, December 11th 2014, online

Limitations For Safe Driving
As a teenager, getting a driving license is a long extraneous task of taking tests, reading driving
guidelines, and even taking a required class sophomore year. All of these help prepare new drivers for
the next stage of their life in transport. I personally went through all of this just a year ago, and I have
seen how it can help prepare fairly new drivers for safe driving. After getting a license there are many
limitations put on you, some only last for a few months, but others last for your whole high school
career. Limitations like these help new drivers to learn good and lasting habits, so that they can keep
themselves and others safe. Some of these laws; however, need to be updated and more defined, so
that teenage drivers learn and understand how dangerous driving really is.
One big limitation is not being able to have any passengers in the car unless they are related to you.
This is a great law, because teens can become distracted by their friends, but one things that bothers
me is this law is active for six months from getting your license, but after that you can have friends in
your car. I just think that this shouldn t be so abrupt, going from no one in your car to a car full of your
friends. I think that teens should, during their first six months, have checkpoints in which they can
slowly accumulate more people in their car and become more used to having distractions, and being
able to avoid them. I know most kids don t follow this law anyway, but for those who do follow this
law, I believe it will greatly help them become more accustomed to driving with distracting people in
their car.
Another law that I think could be more enforced is the 40 hours of driving rule. This rule is that new
drivers must drive at least 40 hours in the car before they get their license, 10 of those hours must be
at night, while the other 30 is during the day. This rule isn t really very enforced, and is just passed by,
but I think that there should be more strict rules put upon this, so that we know that new drivers are
experienced enough to drive safely. Driving 40 hours is a long time, and that is a long time to be able
to train your skills and make better habits to help your driving. If a new driver completes

Why Is The Big Bang Theory Wrong
Many things prove the Big Bang theory is true and the steady state theory is wrong. The Big Bang
theory states; all matter and energy in the universe was compressed into an extremely small volume
that 13 billion to 15 billion years ago exploded and began expanding in all directions. The steady state
theory states; the universe is always expanding but maintaining a constant average density. Red shifted
light spectrum, cosmic background radiation, and the composition of matter all take part in supporting
the Big Bang theory.
Red shifted light happens when other electromagnetic radiation in an object increases in wavelength.
The light from different galaxies is red shifted, this tells us that the galaxies are moving away from us

How Did Ethan Arnold Capture Fort Ticonderoga
Swiftly and stealthy the Green Mountain Boys, under the command of Ethan Allen and Benedict
Arnold, captured Fort Ticonderoga from the British on May 10, 1775. This decisive victory and
plundering of the fort gave the colonial troops much needed supplies and control of a British strategic
position. The capturing of Fort Ticonderoga played a key role in stopping supply lines, cutting British
communications, plundering artillery and munition, and capturing other forts and ships around Lake
Champlain.
On the night of May 9th 200 Green Mountain Boys assembled under Ethan Allen and Benedict Arnold
to capture Fort Ticonderoga. However only a small portion of the men could cross the lake to capture
the fort as there weren t enough boats for all the men. Fearful of losing the element of surprise Allen
and Arnold decided to attack with their small force. With only one sentry on duty the colonists
stormed the fort waking the men at gunpoint and disarming them. The captain was roused from his
chambers and surrendered his sword peacefully, with nobody dying during the assault. ... Show more

The British used this route to send supplies and men to New York from Quebec. The colonists sieging
Boston were concerned with reinforcements coming from Quebec to attack their exposed rear. This
was the first reason the idea of capturing the fort would prove useful. After the forts capture, colonial
forces were in control of a water highway that led directly into the heart of Quebec. The fort proved to
be an important staging ground for the subsequent battles that were to rally Quebec for colonial

The Pros And Cons Of DC Comics And DC Comics
In 1934 a man named Malcolm Wheeler Nicholson created a comic book company named, Detective
Comics and shortly after this renamed the company to, DC comics DC comics when on to create
iconic characters like, Batman, Superman, The Flash, and many more which are still notable to this
day. Shortly after this in the in the Year 1939 a man named Martin Goodman started his own comic
book company as well. He named it, Marvel comics you may recognize the name from the name from
the multimillion dollar films they make based on Marvel s comic book. It has been nearly ninety years
since the both these comic book industries were founded and both companies have a multitude of, tv
shows, films, and video games based off of the stories and characters in their comics. Personally I
believe that both companies have had their fair share of both success and failure. But any time there is
two rivaling companies like these there will always be hardcore fans who say one is better than the
other. One of the biggest arguments throughout the comic book fan based community is to determine
which company between DC comics Marvel comics has the best tv shows, films, and video games.
There are some people who believe DC comics is the one with the best, tv shows, films, and videos
and there is those who would disagree and say Marvel is the supreme company. In this negotiation
essay I will discuss both the positives and the negatives, of boths side s, tv shows, films, and video
games.

The Government Expectations Through The Cafe Standards On...
The government expectations through the CAFE standards on consumer cost benefit analysis on
purchasing an eco friendlier car is not realistic to what consumers truly value. If this were the case,
then why wouldn t everyone be purchasing a more economical vehicle? The problem with these
governmental standards is that they do not efficiently satisfy the needs of both the consumers and
manufacturers within the automobile industry. Although the data suggests that the net benefits
certainly outweigh the costs in the long run, what is not seen are the costs incurred to manufacturers
over time. Using the economic theories of the Keynesian Model, from That which is seen, and that
which is not seen , and supply and demand, we will discuss the implications of these imposed
standards and suggest our own recommendations for solving this problem. Supply and demand is the
most basic principle of economics. Supply and demand have an inverse relationship to each other for
very simple reasons. When demand increases, people buy more of an item, thus lowering supply. If
supply increases, then items demand of an item is decreased unless the price is lowered. The way that
this case is affected by supply and demand is when the CAFÉ standards are enacted the price of
vehicles will go up due to the increased costs of production. The increase in the price will lower the
demand of new cars and increase the supply sitting in dealerships. Also the increase in price of new

We have Decided Essay
Since nearly the beginning of time, adultery has been thought of as morally wrong. Marriage, on the
other hand, has been thought of as a sacred institution shared by most of the people and religions of
the world. In the Lais written by Marie de France, we are given insight into the inner workings of five
adulterous affairs, six pre marital sexual encounters, and one instance of impure thoughts. Although
Marie de France does not seem to condone adultery, she writes in a manner that allows the reader to
feel possible sympathy with it, depending upon the situation. In fact, she seems to separate her lays
into two categories. The first category consists of extenuating circumstances in which the reader is
made (allowed) to feel empathy and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though we as readers desired that she could meet someone to make her feel alive again, that fact
that God steps in seems to make the situation much more acceptable. The adulterous affair becomes
even more acceptable in our eyes when we realize that their affair is not about only sex, but that they
share a deep and tender love. When the knight first sees the lady, he tells her, I ve loved you for a long
time now...I never loved any woman but you (81 84). The love and passion that these lovers share
bring the woman back to life. Her beauty and zest for life returns as does her husband s suspicion.
When he realizes his wife has taken a lover, he plots to kill the hawk with spears on the windows.
Once the knight is fatally wounded, the woman feels immediately sad and heartbroken until she
realizes she will give birth to a son who Someday he will kill his and her enemy, be there avenger

son. The lai continues with the boy growing up and learning the truth about his father. His mother dies
when revealing the truth to Yonec, her son, and in turn, Yonec cuts off his stepfather s head with his
true father s sword. The poem concludes by saying All they once suffered for their love (158).
Although the poem perhaps does not turn out the way we would like it to, we are left with a sense of
happiness in the end. The next lai, Lanval , tells much

Why Is Henrietta Lacks Unethical
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks is a novel written by Rabecca Skloot that outlines the life and
story of a woman named Henrietta Lacks and her families struggle to discover the truth. Henrietta
Lacks was and African American women who was diagnosed with cervical cancer at the age of thirty.
A doctor at John Hopkins Hospital examined Henrietta and a biopsy of the cancerous tissue was
retrieved. Henrietta received treatment for her cancer, but the cancer was too aggressive and she soon
passed away at age of thirty one, but her cells continue to live today. Henrietta Lack s cells were
unlike any other humans cells ever examined. The cells were able to grow, multiply, and divide
outside of the human body in a lab (Skloot 2010). This was a major scientific discovery. Henrietta s
cells, more commonly known to the public as HeLa, aided in the creation of several scientific
discoveries and are still used today. It is because of HeLa we have the polio vaccine, a better
understanding of cancer, and cells in general. The cells have even been sent into space and have been
exposed to nuclear testing and to toxins (BigPicture). Although Henrietta Lacks s cells have done a lot
good, many ethical issues surround her case such as privacy issues, monetary compensation,
exploitation, and cell contamination to name a few. Perhaps the most important and controversial
ethical issue in Hennrietta s case resides around consent, or the lack there of. When Henrietta was at
John Hopkins receiving her cancer treatment a doctor by the name of TeLinde took a sample of
Henrietta s cervix without her knowledge or consent. But first though no one had told Henrietta that
Telinde was collecting sample or asked she wanted to be a donor Wharton picked up a sharp knife and
shaved two dime sized pieces of tissue from Henritta s cervix: one from her tumor, and one from the
healthy cervical tissue nearby. Then he placed the sample in a glass dish (Skloot, 2010, 33). At the
time of the treatment Henrietta was unconscious and completely unable to accept or reject the biopsy
(Skloot, 2010, 33). Acquiring proper consent from an individual is an ongoing process and needs to be
asked for at every stage of a study with human subjects. The basic

The Alamo By Antonio De Valero Mission
Initially named San Antonio de Valero Mission, the Alamo is the pride and joy to many American s
and most Texans. While the battle at the Alamo is the most renowned event that took place during the
Texas revolution, seldom people know that there were a plethora of events that took place leading up
to the showdown at the Alamo. The Mexican government began to shift away from a federalist model
under the presidency of Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna. The enhanced dictatorial laws, including the
revocation of the Constitution of 1824 in 1835 caused many federalists to revolt. Many immigrants
that inhabited the Mexican border region of Texas were accustomed to a federalist government and
they were quite vocal in their displeasure at Mexico s shift to centralism. Mexican authorities blamed
Texian stress on American immigrants; most of whom they believed had made little effort to adapt to
the Mexican culture. In order to put an end to the revolt Santa Anna began assembling a large army,
the Army of operations in Texas, to retain order. Most of the men in his army were generally raw
recruits and possessed no prior knowledge of synchronized combat. In October, Texans engaged
Mexican troops in the first official battle of the Texas Revolution. The Texans defeated the Mexican
troops that were already stationed in Texas. The last group of Mexican soldiers surrendered on
December 9th after the siege of Bexar. This small altercation is better known as the Battle of

when you had to suffer through the consequences? If so, then you are feeling the mutual hatred just
like non smokers. Individuals who do not smoke are suffering from the actions of the people around
them.
B. With intense and thorough research, I have seen that smoking in public does not only affect the
person, but also has an impact on the surrounding people and environment.
C. Today, I d like to talk to you about how banning smoking in public can lead to less secondhand
smoking and health effects, causing fewer environmental issues, and finally, supporting smokers in
giving up smoking.
(Transition into body of speech): I ll begin by telling you how non smokers are at risk by being around
smokers.
II. BODY
A. People who do not smoke, yet are around others who smoke, are in danger of secondhand smoking.
Since I have asthma, I can relate to people with breathing related conditions, who are at a greater
danger of secondhand smoking, which can cause severe outcomes.
According to the state of Michigan, secondhand smoke can trigger asthma attack, bronchial infections,
and other severe health problems in nonsmokers.
Children with asthma around secondhand smoke have more severe and frequent asthma attacks, which
can put a child s life in danger.
Even for people without breathing conditions, breathing secondhand smoke for a brief period can be
deadly.
The Centers for Disease Control s warned that breathing drifting tobacco smoke for as little as 30
minutes can raise a non smoker s risk of suffering a fatal heart attack to that of a smoker.
Since 1964, over 2.5 million nonsmoker adults passed away due to secondhand smoke.
Secondhand smoke increases risks of certain diseases, such as heart disease and lung cancer.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, secondhand smoke causes over 34,000
premature deaths from heart disease per year in the U.S. among nonsmokers.
Nonsmokers exposed to smoking increase their risk of heart disease by 25 30%.
Even brief exposure to secondhand smoke can damage the lining of blood vessels and cause blood
platelets to become stickier,

1. Review the anatomy of the brain. Which portion is responsible for keeping you awake, controlling
thought, speech, emotions and behavior, maintaining balance and posture?
Emotions and behavior are controlled by the hypothalamus (p.455)
The cerebellum is responsible for maintaining balance and posture (p.455)
The reticular formation is essential for maintaining wakefulness and in conjunction with the cerebral
cortex is referred to as the reticular activating system (p.450)
The Broca speech area is rostral to the inferior edge of the premotor area on the inferior frontal gyrus.
It is usually on the left hemisphere and is responsible for the motor aspects of speech. Damage to this
area leads to expressive aphasia or dysphasia (p.452) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
p.483 The cell bodies of primary order neurons or pain transmitting neurons reside in the dorsal root
ganglia just lateral to the spine along the sensory pathways that penetrate the posterior part of the cord.
The second order neurons are found in the dorsal horn (p.484) Most nociceptive information tranvels
by means of ascending columns in the lateral spinothalamic tract (also called the anterolateral
funiculus). The principal target for nociceptive afferents is the thalamus (the major relay station of
sensory information in general) Third order neurons project to portions of the CNS involved in the
processing and interpretation of pain, the chief areas being the reticular and limbic systems and
cerebral cortex. (p 484)
9. Know different clinical descriptions of pain; pain threshold/tolerance The most widely used clinical
classifications for pain are based on the inferred neurophysiologic mechanisms, temporal aspects,
etiology, and region affected. Usually described as nociceptive or non nociceptive, and by duration,
either acute or chronic. acute pain a protective mechanism that alerts the individual to a condition or
experiece that is immediately harmful to the ody and mobilizes the individual to take prompt action to
relieve it; transient, usually lasting seconds to days; begins suddenly and relieved after the chemical
mediators that stimulate pain receptors are removed. Acute pain arises from cutaneous and deep

The Environmental Protection Of The Western World
As the western world having reached a certain development of both society and economy, they
transfer their passion to a new and growing movement which is the environmental protection that
commonly involves wildlife and wilderness. This kind of transfer in social ideology can be understood
as a transfer from anthropocentrism to biocentrism or aesthetic anthropocentrism. Several agencies
such as WWF (World Wildlife Fund) and IUCN (International Union for the Conservation of Nature
and Natural Resources) were created to seek opportunities to help and provide funds for protecting
nature. However, as Guha (1989) pointed out, the emphasis on nature is positively harmful when
applied to less developed world. Guha (1989) also stated that the wholesale transfer of a movement
culturally rooted in American conservation history can merely lead to the social uprooting of
populations in rest parts of the world. Therefore, the new environmental agenda of rich, developed
nations might undermine the interests and priorities of people who live in the third world. The first
disadvantage of wilderness and wildlife preservation for less affluent countries is the loss of
traditional homes, agriculture lands, hunting accesses and culture for its local populations (Fryer, M.
2015). An example of this dark side from preservation of nature is Project Tiger. Project Tiger is
launched after international concern had been raised for tiger ever since the General Assembly of the
IUCN in New Delhi in 1969

The text It is about a wealthy pashtany boy amir and his servant s son Hassan who is hazara, both boys
are around the same age and have grown up together, Hassan constantly despised by members of
society as they believe he is a member of a lower chaste as a result he is constantly picked on by the
pashtany boys and Aamir can not stand up for himself or hassen this eventually results in a major
consequence but Aamir chooses to turn his back on hassen instead of fighting for him. throughout the
text we are shown either Aamir trying to make a decision only to be influenced by society and as it
turns out Aamir s father too faces the same conflict, at first Aamir s talks about friendship he mentions
that father that while ali and his father have grown up together and have been companions since
childhood his father never mentions ali as a friend But in none of his stories did Baba ever refer to Ali
as his friend. This is as a result of society where people don t accept people of a lower class to have
any relationship with their master other than surviving providing service. This is repeated later when
Aamir admits that he too has never regarded hassen as a friend either although they do almost
everything together . This shows the impact of society on Aamir and his father as both are too afraid
publicly acceft Ali and hassen as a part of their lives

Gdp And Total Expenditure On Purchasing A New Houses Essay
1. GDP is the monetary value allocated to all goods and services produced within a given country.
This excludes the net income accruing from abroad. GDP can be measured using the total expenditure
approach for calculating National Income as a summation of total expenditure on commodities
produced in a given economy. Any expenditure on purchasing a new houses is excluded. The final
consumption of the government is also included together with all current expenditure. Their
expenditure on fixed assets is also included. The value of the physical increase in inventories during
the course if the year is also included. The summation of all these components is the Total Domestic
Expenditure, TDE. Adding up expenditure on export to the TDE determines the Total Final
Expenditure. Subtracting all expenditure on imports from this total results to a measure known as the
GDP at market rate. Subtracting taxes on expenditure levied by the government and adding back the
total amount of subsidy leads to the arrival at a figure known as GDP at factor cost. National income is
however affected by interest, rent and profit accruing from abroad and the net of the property income
from abroad ought to be added to the GDP. This leads to the arrival at the GDP at factor cost. GDP can
also be arrived at by using factor incomes in the computation of National Income. Under this
approach, the summation of individual incomes arrives at the domestic income, as each time
something is produced and sold,

The Effects of MTV on American Culture Essay
MTV, formally known as Music Television, is one of the most viewed networks on television today.
Roughly thirty three years old, it has changed the American culture drastically in more than just one
way. Specifically targeting teens and young adults, the MTV network provides all of the most up to
date gossip on celebrities, highlights the latest fashion trends, promotes versified lifestyles, and
defines the music industry of our generation. However, this so called idolized network has not always
been this way. The American culture has been affected by MTV through the creation of the network,
the transformation from simply just music television to inappropriate reality shows, and the promotion
of inappropriate content. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Reality shows can be defined as a catch all category that includes a wide range of entertainment
programs about real people. The MTV network executives quickly realized how fast the world around
them was changing; so on May 21, 1992, seven random strangers were picked to star on the show The
Real World. This show modernized MTV by connecting viewers to the world and current culture
around them. It also demonstrated that the network was not just about airing the hottest music videos
of the year. Even today, The Real World is stil the forerunner of the American reality show genre. The
reality genre has mass appeal. Because of this, MTV started to create more reality based shows. As
more reality shows were created, the MTV network made the executive decision to create another
network channel to further the demands of viewers. So, they created M2, formally known today as
MTV2.
As MTV started adding reality shows, the air time for music videos began to decrease incrementally.
The original purpose for M2 was to broadcast the most recent music videos of the decade through
commercial free air time both on television and online streaming. This would hopefully bring in more
viewers because of the lack of commercial interruptions. However, because M2 was restricted to less
widely available digital cable and satellite television, which limited its audience reach to around 12
million homes by 2000. As time moved on, people wanted more from

Satellite Broadband Essay
In recent years the demand for high speed networking, driven mainly by the rapid expansion of the
Internet, has been growing at an exponential rate. While a wide range of wireline and wireless
solutions offering broadband connectivity are or will shortly be available, communication satellites are
beginning to emerge as an attractive solution in providing broadband connectivity to a variety of
users.
The wide area or global coverage of satellites enables service provision to a large number of dispersed
users and solve the expensive quot;last mile quot; issue without dedicating to each user cable, fiber,
switching equipment ports, etc. The broadcast nature of satellites supports efficiently the transmission
of the same message to a large ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A new generation of broadband satellite constellations promises to provide high speed Internet
connectivity to areas not served by optical fiber, cable or other high speed terrestrial connections.
However, using satellite links to supply high bandwidth has been difficult due to problems with
inefficient performance of the Internet s TCP/IP protocol suite over satellite. We describe an
architecture for improving the performance of TCP/IP protocols over heterogeneous network
environments, especially networks containing satellite links. The end to end connection is split into
segments, and the protocol on the satellite segment is optimized for the satellite link characteristics.
TCP congestion control mechanisms are maintained on each segment, with some coupling between
the segments to produce the effect of end to end TCP flow control. We have implemented this design
and present results showing that using such gateways can improve throughput for individual
connections by a large factor over paths containing a satellite link.
SAN ANTONIO (BUSINESS WIRE) April 24, 2000 The explosion of the Internet in the 1990s and
subsequent demand for high speed Internet connections has put an immense strain on terrestrial
communications networks.
Consequently, satellite broadband technology is now emerging as an important alternative to land
based services such as cable or DSL.

Essay on The Epic of Gilgamesh
In the ancient Mesopotamian world, the realm of civilization was viewed to be highly illustrious. At
the same time, this state of advancement of great antiquity was also an attribute of divinity. The
elements of civilization were intimately associated to the highly esteemed divine mediation. Despite
the prominent theology culture in The Epic of Gilgamesh, divine intervention is not the only element
that could transform the crude heroic figures into sagacious men. Strength and power are definitely
not the only possessions that could advance one in life even though they clearly distinguish the heroes
from ordinary men. It is rather, more significantly, the process of internalization. No civilization
emerges directly and independently it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though the King of Uruk is expected to be highly civilized, ironically he does not appear to be
so. Overwhelmed with ego, arrogance and complete misuse of power, Gilgamesh has condemned
civilization insofar his existence. He thwarts his humanity by emphasizing his strength and power in
order to be more successful, forsaking the well being of his people. Hearing the laments and cries of
the people of Uruk, the gods then create Enkidu as a match for Gilgamesh. For Enkidu is a divine
creation, with [a] virtue in him like the god of war Ninurta, long waved hair of the goddess of corn
Nisaba, and body of matted hair like the god of cattle Samuqan (Sandars 63), one would have
expected him to be a lesson to Gilgamesh. However, the creation of Enkidu does not really answer the
people s grieving as an equal who can contend with Gilgamesh together and keep him busy from all
his iniquities (Sandars 62). Enkidu can never be Gilgamesh s match as he is created completely human
while Gilgamesh two third divine.
This strategy, in fact, works in a different manner whereby Enkidu teaches Gilgamesh the real
significance of being a human. This shows a fascinating twist as Gilgamesh s intention to tame Enkidu
by sending him a prostitute instead mirrors his taming by Enkidu. It is because Enkidu s indulgence in
sex with the prostitute for six days and seven nights that

  • 2. Microsoft E Business Suite ( Ebs ) Upgrade Possibly the most comprehensive change to the daily operations will be the Oracle E business suite (EBS) upgrade. This IS will provide many solutions to the operations and maintenance managers by providing total operational oversight at the click of a button. EBS enables users to oversee projects, asset milestones and budgets, and staff projects. It also has a quick report generator for business meetings and scheduling. Another feature that will be highly beneficial is the ability for EBS to integrate and enhance existing programs. It will streamline financials, enhance supply chain management, and fulfill human capital management requirements. Utilizing the asset lifecycle management tool within EBS will enhance financial management of our aircraft and equipment items. It will also calculate the most efficient way to make payments on the aircraft that will maximize the use of our funds and free up income that can be used elsewhere within the budget. Many of the equipment items will require calibration from testing measurements and diagnostics equipment (TMDE) laboratories, which require scheduling and shipping coordination. For this task, the value chain execution tool would be perfect. It will line up and track the schedule of TMDE items that require calibration; once the items come due shipping will be coordinated automatically. There are plenty of applications in the Oracle E Business Suite that the club will utilize for our E Business, as seen in Table 3 in Appendix A ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Leni Riefenstahl Speech Leni Riefenstahl was one of the most controversial filmmakers of the twentieth century. She was well known for her imposing propaganda films in support of the Nazi Regime, in which she should be held accountable for glorifying the Nazi s and her involvement with Hitler. Based on the evidence gathered, my speech will show that Leni Riefenstahl is guilty as a war criminal for her contribution to Nazi mayhem. From the earliest accounts of Riefenstahl s career, it is clear that she was prepared to use others and their money to benefit herself. Riefenstahl and Hitler both shared a close and intimate relationship. He saw her as the ideal Aryan woman who could promote the motives of power and beauty. Riefenstahl s feelings for Hitler ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The film received mixed views around the world but most importantly won the support of Hitler who strongly admired her work. In 1933, Hitler appointed Riefenstahl as film maker for a short film called Victory of Faith at the Nuremburg Rally. The film was an enthusiastic tool in distributing the Nazi Party to the German people. However, all copies were removed and destroyed due to the murder of Ernest Rohm during the Night of the Long Knives. The following year Hitler provided Riefenstahl with all the resources needed to make Triumph of the Will one of the greatest propaganda films ever produced. The film promoted several aspects of Nazi propaganda including the concept of the Aryan Race, Volksgemeinschaft and the glorification of Hitler. These concepts can be seen through planned events in the film such as, parades, assemblies, images of Hitler and his speeches. In Susan Sontag s book Fascinating Fascism she states that Hitler himself declared that Triumph of the Will was a totally unique and incomparable glorification of the power and beauty of our movement . This evidence shows that Leni used propaganda as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Arm Wrestling With My Father Rhetorical Analysis The relationship between a father and their child is tremendously salient, and will influence the life of both the parent and the adolescent in many ways. Often, it can be difficult for someone to share their personal relationships that they had with their father, as it can be a very delicate subject. Despite this, renowned authors Brad Manning and Sandra Cisneros are two people who chose to write about their unique experiences and childhoods that they shared with their fathers. Both Brad and Sandra felt their childhood relationships with their fathers were unorthodox. This was explicitly outlined in Brad s freshman composition paper titled Arm Wrestling With My Father and Sandra s magazine article titled Only Daughter. Through varying rhetorical strategies, the authors purpose and audience is clearly portrayed in both selections. One of the most important components to any piece of writing is the intended audience. In Arm Wrestling With My Father, Manning s intended audience is anyone who may have had an abnormal or physical relationship with their father. He wanted his paper to be read by individuals that grew up with a lack of emotional love and an abundance of physical contact with their fathers. Although there was love between Manning and his father, it was clear that neither party wanted to acknowledge it. He wrote this in his freshman composition course at Harvard, knowing that although it was going to his professors, it was meant for anyone who may have experienced ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Julian Castro s Status Achievement In The United States The Democratic National Convention hosted in 2012 were like the conventions in the past in which key Democrats would conjoin and give speeches to have their candidate elected for president. The goal of the Democratic National Convention in 2012 was aimed to have President Barack Obama reelected. One of the commonalities among the speeches from Democrats like Elizabeth Warren, Julian Castro, and Martin O Malley was the mentioning of the American Dream. By appealing to American values such as you can achieve anything as long as you work hard and promising to fix the uneven distribution of resources to the different social classes, people believed that Barack Obama was the person who understood their plight. My parents immigrated into the United States 15 years ago from Hong Kong and so I am the first generation to go to college in the US. It is important to note that my parents did not come to the US so that they can attain a higher status but more so because they wanted to give me a chance to attain a higher status. When we first arrived my mother did not work, and my father s first job was at a Asian supermarket. The pay was low and there was no coverage of any kind. We lived at my Aunt s house until we managed to find public housing in Charlestown. Somewhere around that time my father managed to find a job at Boston Scientific as a Material Handler, and basically what he does it drive a forklift truck around a warehouse to find and move stock. The job change did not alleviate my father s nor the family s status. The pay was better and there is health insurance and retirement plans. However, even with my father working overtime, there is still simply a shortage in money especially when my twin brothers came along. That was when my mother decided that she needs to work too and she found herself working as a waitress at two Chinese restaurants. • 8. Limitations For Safe Driving As a teenager, getting a driving license is a long extraneous task of taking tests, reading driving guidelines, and even taking a required class sophomore year. All of these help prepare new drivers for the next stage of their life in transport. I personally went through all of this just a year ago, and I have seen how it can help prepare fairly new drivers for safe driving. After getting a license there are many limitations put on you, some only last for a few months, but others last for your whole high school career. Limitations like these help new drivers to learn good and lasting habits, so that they can keep themselves and others safe. Some of these laws; however, need to be updated and more defined, so that teenage drivers learn and understand how dangerous driving really is. One big limitation is not being able to have any passengers in the car unless they are related to you. This is a great law, because teens can become distracted by their friends, but one things that bothers me is this law is active for six months from getting your license, but after that you can have friends in your car. I just think that this shouldn t be so abrupt, going from no one in your car to a car full of your friends. I think that teens should, during their first six months, have checkpoints in which they can slowly accumulate more people in their car and become more used to having distractions, and being able to avoid them. I know most kids don t follow this law anyway, but for those who do follow this law, I believe it will greatly help them become more accustomed to driving with distracting people in their car. Another law that I think could be more enforced is the 40 hours of driving rule. This rule is that new drivers must drive at least 40 hours in the car before they get their license, 10 of those hours must be at night, while the other 30 is during the day. This rule isn t really very enforced, and is just passed by, but I think that there should be more strict rules put upon this, so that we know that new drivers are experienced enough to drive safely. Driving 40 hours is a long time, and that is a long time to be able to train your skills and make better habits to help your driving. If a new driver completes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Big Bang theory states; all matter and energy in the universe was compressed into an extremely small volume that 13 billion to 15 billion years ago exploded and began expanding in all directions. The steady state theory states; the universe is always expanding but maintaining a constant average density. Red shifted light spectrum, cosmic background radiation, and the composition of matter all take part in supporting the Big Bang theory. • 10. How Did Ethan Arnold Capture Fort Ticonderoga Swiftly and stealthy the Green Mountain Boys, under the command of Ethan Allen and Benedict Arnold, captured Fort Ticonderoga from the British on May 10, 1775. This decisive victory and plundering of the fort gave the colonial troops much needed supplies and control of a British strategic position. The capturing of Fort Ticonderoga played a key role in stopping supply lines, cutting British communications, plundering artillery and munition, and capturing other forts and ships around Lake Champlain. On the night of May 9th 200 Green Mountain Boys assembled under Ethan Allen and Benedict Arnold to capture Fort Ticonderoga. However only a small portion of the men could cross the lake to capture the fort as there weren t enough boats for all the men. Fearful of losing the element of surprise Allen and Arnold decided to attack with their small force. With only one sentry on duty the colonists stormed the fort waking the men at gunpoint and disarming them. The Pros And Cons Of DC Comics And DC Comics In 1934 a man named Malcolm Wheeler Nicholson created a comic book company named, Detective Comics and shortly after this renamed the company to, DC comics DC comics when on to create iconic characters like, Batman, Superman, The Flash, and many more which are still notable to this day. Shortly after this in the in the Year 1939 a man named Martin Goodman started his own comic book company as well. He named it, Marvel comics you may recognize the name from the name from the multimillion dollar films they make based on Marvel s comic book. It has been nearly ninety years since the both these comic book industries were founded and both companies have a multitude of, tv shows, films, and video games based off of the stories and characters in their comics. Personally I believe that both companies have had their fair share of both success and failure. But any time there is two rivaling companies like these there will always be hardcore fans who say one is better than the other. One of the biggest arguments throughout the comic book fan based community is to determine which company between DC comics Marvel comics has the best tv shows, films, and video games. There are some people who believe DC comics is the one with the best, tv shows, films, and videos and there is those who would disagree and say Marvel is the supreme company. • 12. The Government Expectations Through The Cafe Standards On... The government expectations through the CAFE standards on consumer cost benefit analysis on purchasing an eco friendlier car is not realistic to what consumers truly value. If this were the case, then why wouldn t everyone be purchasing a more economical vehicle? The problem with these governmental standards is that they do not efficiently satisfy the needs of both the consumers and manufacturers within the automobile industry. Although the data suggests that the net benefits certainly outweigh the costs in the long run, what is not seen are the costs incurred to manufacturers over time. Using the economic theories of the Keynesian Model, from That which is seen, and that which is not seen , and supply and demand, we will discuss the implications of these imposed standards and suggest our own recommendations for solving this problem. Supply and demand is the most basic principle of economics. Supply and demand have an inverse relationship to each other for very simple reasons. When demand increases, people buy more of an item, thus lowering supply. If supply increases, then items demand of an item is decreased unless the price is lowered. The way that this case is affected by supply and demand is when the CAFÉ standards are enacted the price of vehicles will go up due to the increased costs of production. The increase in the price will lower the demand of new cars and increase the supply sitting in dealerships. Also the increase in price of new fuel efficient ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. We have Decided Essay Since nearly the beginning of time, adultery has been thought of as morally wrong. Marriage, on the other hand, has been thought of as a sacred institution shared by most of the people and religions of the world. In the Lais written by Marie de France, we are given insight into the inner workings of five adulterous affairs, six pre marital sexual encounters, and one instance of impure thoughts. Although Marie de France does not seem to condone adultery, she writes in a manner that allows the reader to feel possible sympathy with it, depending upon the situation. In fact, she seems to separate her lays into two categories. The first category consists of extenuating circumstances in which the reader is made (allowed) to feel empathy and ... Even though we as readers desired that she could meet someone to make her feel alive again, that fact that God steps in seems to make the situation much more acceptable. The adulterous affair becomes even more acceptable in our eyes when we realize that their affair is not about only sex, but that they share a deep and tender love. When the knight first sees the lady, he tells her, I ve loved you for a long time now...I never loved any woman but you (81 84). The love and passion that these lovers share bring the woman back to life. Her beauty and zest for life returns as does her husband s suspicion. When he realizes his wife has taken a lover, he plots to kill the hawk with spears on the windows. Once the knight is fatally wounded, the woman feels immediately sad and heartbroken until she realizes she will give birth to a son who Someday he will kill his and her enemy, be there avenger (102). The woman goes on with her life, remembering the love she once shared and lives now for her son. The lai continues with the boy growing up and learning the truth about his father. His mother dies when revealing the truth to Yonec, her son, and in turn, Yonec cuts off his stepfather s head with his true father s sword. The poem concludes by saying All they once suffered for their love (158). Although the poem perhaps does not turn out the way we would like it to, we are left with a sense of happiness in the end. • 20. Why Is Henrietta Lacks Unethical The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks is a novel written by Rabecca Skloot that outlines the life and story of a woman named Henrietta Lacks and her families struggle to discover the truth. Henrietta Lacks was and African American women who was diagnosed with cervical cancer at the age of thirty. A doctor at John Hopkins Hospital examined Henrietta and a biopsy of the cancerous tissue was retrieved. Henrietta received treatment for her cancer, but the cancer was too aggressive and she soon passed away at age of thirty one, but her cells continue to live today. Henrietta Lack s cells were unlike any other humans cells ever examined. The cells were able to grow, multiply, and divide outside of the human body in a lab (Skloot 2010). This was a major scientific discovery. Henrietta s cells, more commonly known to the public as HeLa, aided in the creation of several scientific discoveries and are still used today. It is because of HeLa we have the polio vaccine, a better understanding of cancer, and cells in general. The cells have even been sent into space and have been exposed to nuclear testing and to toxins (BigPicture). Although Henrietta Lacks s cells have done a lot good, many ethical issues surround her case such as privacy issues, monetary compensation, exploitation, and cell contamination to name a few. Perhaps the most important and controversial ethical issue in Hennrietta s case resides around consent, or the lack there of. When Henrietta was at John Hopkins receiving her cancer treatment a doctor by the name of TeLinde took a sample of Henrietta s cervix without her knowledge or consent. But first though no one had told Henrietta that Telinde was collecting sample or asked she wanted to be a donor Wharton picked up a sharp knife and shaved two dime sized pieces of tissue from Henritta s cervix: one from her tumor, and one from the healthy cervical tissue nearby. Then he placed the sample in a glass dish (Skloot, 2010, 33). At the time of the treatment Henrietta was unconscious and completely unable to accept or reject the biopsy (Skloot, 2010, 33). Acquiring proper consent from an individual is an ongoing process and needs to be asked for at every stage of a study with human subjects. The basic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While the battle at the Alamo is the most renowned event that took place during the Texas revolution, seldom people know that there were a plethora of events that took place leading up to the showdown at the Alamo. The Mexican government began to shift away from a federalist model under the presidency of Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna. The enhanced dictatorial laws, including the revocation of the Constitution of 1824 in 1835 caused many federalists to revolt. Many immigrants that inhabited the Mexican border region of Texas were accustomed to a federalist government and they were quite vocal in their displeasure at Mexico s shift to centralism. Mexican authorities blamed Texian stress on American immigrants; most of whom they believed had made little effort to adapt to the Mexican culture. In order to put an end to the revolt Santa Anna began assembling a large army, the Army of operations in Texas, to retain order. Most of the men in his army were generally raw recruits and possessed no prior knowledge of synchronized combat. In October, Texans engaged Mexican troops in the first official battle of the Texas Revolution. The Texans defeated the Mexican troops that were already stationed in Texas. Did you feel irritated when you had to suffer through the consequences? If so, then you are feeling the mutual hatred just like non smokers. Individuals who do not smoke are suffering from the actions of the people around them. B. With intense and thorough research, I have seen that smoking in public does not only affect the person, but also has an impact on the surrounding people and environment. C. Today, I d like to talk to you about how banning smoking in public can lead to less secondhand smoking and health effects, causing fewer environmental issues, and finally, supporting smokers in giving up smoking. (Transition into body of speech): I ll begin by telling you how non smokers are at risk by being around smokers. II. BODY A. People who do not smoke, yet are around others who smoke, are in danger of secondhand smoking. Since I have asthma, I can relate to people with breathing related conditions, who are at a greater danger of secondhand smoking, which can cause severe outcomes. According to the state of Michigan, secondhand smoke can trigger asthma attack, bronchial infections, and other severe health problems in nonsmokers. Children with asthma around secondhand smoke have more severe and frequent asthma attacks, which can put a child s life in danger. Even for people without breathing conditions, breathing secondhand smoke for a brief period can be deadly. The Centers for Disease Control s warned that breathing drifting tobacco smoke for as little as 30 minutes can raise a non smoker s risk of suffering a fatal heart attack to that of a smoker. Since 1964, over 2.5 million nonsmoker adults passed away due to secondhand smoke. Secondhand smoke increases risks of certain diseases, such as heart disease and lung cancer. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, secondhand smoke causes over 34,000

  • 26. The Environmental Protection Of The Western World As the western world having reached a certain development of both society and economy, they transfer their passion to a new and growing movement which is the environmental protection that commonly involves wildlife and wilderness. This kind of transfer in social ideology can be understood as a transfer from anthropocentrism to biocentrism or aesthetic anthropocentrism. Several agencies such as WWF (World Wildlife Fund) and IUCN (International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources) were created to seek opportunities to help and provide funds for protecting nature. However, as Guha (1989) pointed out, the emphasis on nature is positively harmful when applied to less developed world. Guha (1989) also stated that the wholesale transfer of a movement culturally rooted in American conservation history can merely lead to the social uprooting of populations in rest parts of the world. Therefore, the new environmental agenda of rich, developed nations might undermine the interests and priorities of people who live in the third world. The first disadvantage of wilderness and wildlife preservation for less affluent countries is the loss of traditional homes, agriculture lands, hunting accesses and culture for its local populations (Fryer, M. 2015). An example of this dark side from preservation of nature is Project Tiger. Project Tiger is launched after international concern had been raised for tiger ever since the General Assembly of the IUCN in New Delhi in 1969 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 28. Gdp And Total Expenditure On Purchasing A New Houses Essay 1. GDP is the monetary value allocated to all goods and services produced within a given country. This excludes the net income accruing from abroad. GDP can be measured using the total expenditure approach for calculating National Income as a summation of total expenditure on commodities produced in a given economy. Any expenditure on purchasing a new houses is excluded. The final consumption of the government is also included together with all current expenditure. Their expenditure on fixed assets is also included. The value of the physical increase in inventories during the course if the year is also included. The summation of all these components is the Total Domestic Expenditure, TDE. Adding up expenditure on export to the TDE determines the Total Final Expenditure. Subtracting all expenditure on imports from this total results to a measure known as the GDP at market rate. Subtracting taxes on expenditure levied by the government and adding back the total amount of subsidy leads to the arrival at a figure known as GDP at factor cost. National income is however affected by interest, rent and profit accruing from abroad and the net of the property income from abroad ought to be added to the GDP. This show modernized MTV by connecting viewers to the world and current culture around them. It also demonstrated that the network was not just about airing the hottest music videos of the year. Even today, The Real World is stil the forerunner of the American reality show genre. The reality genre has mass appeal. Because of this, MTV started to create more reality based shows. A new generation of broadband satellite constellations promises to provide high speed Internet connectivity to areas not served by optical fiber, cable or other high speed terrestrial connections. However, using satellite links to supply high bandwidth has been difficult due to problems with inefficient performance of the Internet s TCP/IP protocol suite over satellite. We describe an architecture for improving the performance of TCP/IP protocols over heterogeneous network environments, especially networks containing satellite links. The end to end connection is split into segments, and the protocol on the satellite segment is optimized for the satellite link characteristics. TCP congestion control mechanisms are maintained on each segment, with some coupling between the segments to produce the effect of end to end TCP flow control. We have implemented this design and present results showing that using such gateways can improve throughput for individual connections by a large factor over paths containing a satellite link. Hearing the laments and cries of the people of Uruk, the gods then create Enkidu as a match for Gilgamesh. For Enkidu is a divine creation, with [a] virtue in him like the god of war Ninurta, long waved hair of the goddess of corn Nisaba, and body of matted hair like the god of cattle Samuqan (Sandars 63), one would have expected him to be a lesson to Gilgamesh.
