The masthead will always stand out to the consumers eye 
and their eyes be drawn towards this.

left hand corner. It always stands out because the 
the writing is in white which contrasts with the 
red background.
The coverlines should have some link to the 
featured artists of the magazine. The band or artist 
must attract the target audience. 
This coverline is from top of the pop 
magazine, is in reference to Jessie J 
who is the mainnimage on the front 
cover. She is well 
known in the pop industry so this will 
attract people who like this particular 
artist.
The background image should show a a band or artist who 
will please the target audience of the magazine. The artist or 
band should be the same genre as the music magazine. 
Q magazine has featured Beyonce as 
their main image. She is a dominant 
female who attracts a huge audience.
What the magazine producer will need to 
consider is who their target audience is to be 
able to decide on a colour scheme.
