Additional elements of the sponsorship include Qatar Airways sponsoring a special aircraft for River Plate's travel in South America, developing a Qatar Airways Cup tournament between River Plate, Barcelona, PSG, and a Qatari team, and establishing a River Plate franchise in Asia and the United States. 3. The sponsorship also covers TV rights in Qatar and helping transfer soccer knowledge to Qatar as River Plate would aim to establish a professional team there
