Market Failure Of The Pharmaceutical Industry
Market failure appears when there is a failure in allocation of goods and services. When the market is
unsuccessful, the government is called to intervene and correct the failure. Over the years, government
participation in the pharmaceutical market has been more wide ranging than any other good or service.
With the government s ability to regulate, mandate, inform, finance and provide, their intervention to
overcome market failure can be beneficial for the economy. Market failure plays a significant role in
today s economy.
Pharmaceutical industries are a prime example. There are several possible reasons as to why and how
market failures might lead to such high prices for drugs. Information asymmetry is the most critical

Moreover, patients often have less knowledge than the prescriber does about the appropriateness of
the drug, where it can be very misinforming for the consumer. Lastly, drug efficacy is a problem in all
contexts. Since stakeholders are likely, less informed than manufacturers it causes both the consumer
and prescriber to depend on the manufacturer for information of the effectiveness of the drug (Bennett,
Quick, Velasquez, 2016).
Externalities, also viewed as the negative spillover effect, plays a role in market failures associated
with pharmaceuticals. In the pharmaceutical sector, externalities take place when consumers affect the
utilization of a drug s value. Externalities typically stop consumers from receiving cheaper costs for
drugs because they normally don t carry the complete costs of drug expenses. Negative externalities
induce a cycle of ongoing sales, more profits and more subsidies. Thus, if externalities are left to be
controlled by a market then the implications will lead to high pricing on products.
Recently, there had been a controversy over the rise in pharmaceutical costs involving the EpiPen in
the United States. The EpiPen, also known as adrenaline/epinephrine, is a widely used injection that is
used to treat allergic reactions. This generic drug has been available for many years. The EpiPen
controversy is a prime example of how monopoly

Should Canada To Maintain World Peace
Canada needed to go to Afghanistan to maintain world peace for many reasons. First, Afghanistan
needed assistance after becoming overwhelmed with terrorist groups such as al Qaeda which had set
up training camps in Afghanistan. Secondly, people around the world were starting to doubt the
effectiveness of international organizations like NATO and the UN s. Finally, Afghanistan was
becoming a training ground for al Qaeda and Canada had to help in the fight against terrorism by
going to Afghanistan. To summarize, Canada needed to go to Afghanistan to help rebuild Afghanistan,
help prove that international organizations like the UN are still effective in working towards
maintaining world peace, and stopping the spread of terrorism.

This is because people around the world were starting to doubt and question the effectiveness of the
UN. However, the UN plays a vital role in trying to achieve world peace. Lastly, efforts in Afghanistan
involved the UN. The Telegraph states that the UN has been responsible for failures such as; Rwanda
Genocide, rape and child sex abuse in the Congo, spreading cholera in Haiti, Iraq oil for food
programme, and the massacre in Srebrenica. (Telegraph). Ambassador Richard Butler... says it would
be absolutely wrong to declare the U.N. a failure, but to the extent that it is failing it s because the
body s most powerful members are breaking the very rules that they say they support. (Aljazeera).
These articles help bring light to some of the UN s failures and show that the world has started to
question the integrity of the UN. However, the world needs the UN to maintain world peace. As
claimed by MUNPlanet At a time when our security is seemingly under threat from every threat from
every side... the UN remains a vital instrument of international governance. (MUNPlanet). This quote
demonstrates why we still need groups like the UN to maintain world peace; to protect us from the
plethora of threats that continue to threaten the world s safety. Finally, Canada needed to go to
Afghanistan to support the NATO/UN sanctioned mission. Canada was part of a larger NATO led
United Nations sanctioned mission...focused on helping the Government of Afghanistan assume
responsibility... rebuild their nation as a stable, democratic, self sufficient society. (Forces). This quote
shows that Canada needed to go to Afghanistan to prove that international collaboration is needed to
maintain world peace. In conclusion, Canada needed to go to Afghanistan to prove that nationwide
organizations like the UN were needed to maintain peace. This is because the world was

The Author known as, Scott Fitzgerald is considered a...
The Author known as, Scott Fitzgerald is considered a notable writer in the Jazz Age time period for
his novels, short stories such as The Great Gatsby. Throughout the life of Scott Fitzgerald his works
have proven to be of high merit that have impacted the world of literature In 1898 at Saint Paul,
Minnesota, born into a middle upper class family, Fitzgerald was named after his famous second
cousin Francis Scott Key but he finally went by the familiar name Scott Fitzgerald. Also he was
named after his late sister, Louise Scott, one of two sisters who died shortly before his birth. Well,

At the university he strongly dedicated himself to enhancing his skill as a writer. There he became
friends with future critics and writers Edmund Wilson and John Peale Bishop, and wrote for the
Princeton Triangle Club, the Nassau Lit, and the Princeton Tiger. He also was involved in the
American Whig Cliosophic Society, which ran the Nassau Lit. His attraction in the Triangle led to his
offer of a novel to Charles Scribner s Sons where the editor admired the writing but ultimately rejected
the book. He was a member of the University Cottage Club, which still displays Fitzgerald s desk and
writing materials in its library. His writing pursuits at Princeton came at the cost of his assignments.
He was placed on academic probation, and in 1917 he dropped out of school to join the U.S. Army.
Afraid that he might die in World War I with his literary dreams unsatisfied, weeks before reporting
for duty Fitzgerald quickly wrote a novel called The Romantic Egotist . Although the publisher
Charles Scribner s Sons rejected the novel, the reviewer noted its originality and encouraged
Fitzgerald to submit more work in the future. But unfortunately his alcoholic habits, since college,
caught up to him with extraordinarily heavy drinking therefore leaving him in poor health by the late
1930s. According to Zelda s biographer, Nancy Milford, Fitzgerald claimed that he had

Miami Marlins Case Study
Miami Marlins Although the Marlins finished in third place in the NL East last year, Miami still
finished a full 19 games out of first place. In the race for the Wild Card, the deficit was even higher.
By the end of the season, the Marlins were 26 games back. The offseason was a rather quiet one for
the Marlins. Miami seems content moving forward with its young cast of players. The Marlins only
moves were a few free agency additions to the pitching staff. Their biggest haul was the signing of
Wei Yin Chen to a five year, $80 million contract, while the Marlins also signed pitcher Edwin
Jackson, who could bounce back from bullpen duties in 2015 to earn a rotation spot. Jackson s ERA as
a starting pitcher increased each year from 2011 2014. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Unfortunately for the Phillies, they finished below the Braves last year in the NL East. Philadelphia
wasn t only last in the division, the Phillies also had the worst record in MLB at 63 99. However, the
dreadful season earned Philadelphia the first pick in this year s MLB Draft in June. The Phillies
rebuild began when they finally decided to dismantle the old core that won the World Series in 2008.
From that title team, the Phillies traded the middle infielders who began their careers with the
organization. Philadelphia traded shortstop Jimmy Rollins after the 2014 season and second baseman
Chase Utley in August of last season. Both players were traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers and
brought back a few pitching prospects. The Phillies biggest return came from trading pitcher Cole
Hamels to the Texas Rangers in an eight player deal at the deadline last year. Philadelphia sent Hamels
and reliever Jake Diekman to the Rangers for pitchers Matt Harrison and Jake Thompson, minor
league pitching prospects Jared Eickhoff and Alec Asher, catcher Jorge Alfaro and outfielder Nick
Williams. However, Harrison has battled back issues, so his castoff was merely a way for the Rangers
to get the contract off their books. As this offseason began, it was new Phillies general manager Matt
Klentak s job to continue the rebuild. Klentak s first move was trading closer Ken Giles and shortstop
Jonathan Arauz to the Houston Astros for former No. 1 overall pick Mark Appel and pitchers Thomas
Eshelman, Brett Oberholtzer, Vincent Velasquez and Harold Arauz. The Phillies deals have
replenished their farm system after years of being trade deadline buyers depleted it. While most of
their prospects continue to develop in the minor leagues, a few could contribute to the Phillies this
year. The outfield will feature two Rule 5 draft picks, Odubel Herrera and Tyler Goeddel. Goeddel

The New Model For Art
Placing the interests of the entire world above those of an individual nation became the new model for
art in the contemporary world and this movement was known as globalism. With the increases in
digital technology, global integration of art and culture became significantly easier and more
prominent. Although, globalism brought a new knowledge of culture from other nations and allowed
certain countries to emerge as super powers not everything was beneficial. Terrorism rocked western
civilizations such as Britain and the Unites States with attacks from the extremist group knows as Al
Qaeda that brought a devastating and sense of urgency for moral change through art and literature.

and new forms of technology and communication as well as the availability of weapons made the
issue more prominent and devastating. Especially after the devastating 9 11 terrorist attacks on the
Twin Towers in New York and the Pentagon. Since then the war on terror has spread too much of the
Middle East, and the already tense atmosphere was made worse with Sunni and Shi ite civil wars,
terrorism was a fear that was all too real and possible. With such a devastating lost after 9 11 and over
3000 civilians killed, many artists commemorated those who died in the tragic attack with paintings or
eulogies, such as Johns Adams, On the Transmigration of Souls (p.505) or paintings of people leaping
to their death just moments before the towers collapsed. It wasn t until years later where literary
reflections of the incident were starting to be created that a stronger voice spoke up regarding what
was seen as a moral urgency as terrorist attacks were beginning to occur in other parts of the world
and were unfortunately becoming a common thing. Seamus Heaney, an Irish author, wrote the most

Since slavery, Reconstruction, and the Civil Rights Era, reformed education has been a part of the

Starting in the late 1800s through the 1960s voting exclusions were sanctioned through literacy tests

US Civil Rights Commissioner Dean Griswold of Ohio stated during the 1962 Hearings of the Bills

Melia In The Ruined Maid
Throughout the poem, The Ruined Maid , Melia who represents the ruined maid literally shows us a
different version of what it means to be ruined. A former country maiden, now turned into an
illustrious town girl, Melia, happens to meet with an old friend of hers who is from the country like
her. Being a country girl, she is filled with admiration and envy upon seeing Melia as though she was
seeing her in a new light. When Melia is asked by her friend as to how she became so prosperous,
Melia in turn asks her if she hadn t known that Melia had been ruined. Melia s friend then points out
various instances of the life that Melia had lived through as a country girl. If we were to put ourselves
in the place of Melia s friend and compare our lives with Melia s, we might just appear to be finding
ourselves more ruined than Melia : You left us in tatters, without shoes or socks (line 5 ) . ... Show

When asked about the changes in manner of her speech from an ordinary country style talk to talking
in words that seem suited mostly for those of high class status, Melia replied : Some polish is gained

mannerism of speaking, she eventually acquires this high taste. Melia s physical transformation also
astonishes her friend since Melia s hands had changed from being country or farm hands to those like
a lady as well as a beautiful change in Melia s facial complexion. Melia indicates that another
advantage of being ruined is not having to do any work like her friend. Melia also seems to be more
lively than as though she had never experienced sadness in her life : True. One s pretty lively when

Report by Uma maheswari chinta and Deepak metlapalli
1. Abstract:
In the vision of the Internet of Things (IoT), an expanding number of installed gadgets of various
kinds (e.g., sensors, cellular telephones, cameras, smart meters, brilliant autos, traffic lights, savvy
home appliances, and so forth.) are currently fit for imparting and sharing information over the
Internet. Despite the fact that the idea of utilizing inserted frameworks to control gadgets, instruments
and apparatuses has been proposed for practically decades now, with each new era, the continually
expanding abilities of calculation and correspondence posture new open doors, additionally new
difficulties. As IoT turns into a dynamic examination zone, distinctive strategies from different
perspectives have been investigated to advance the improvement and notoriety of IoT. One pattern is
seeing IoT as Web of Things (WoT) where the open Web norms are bolstered for data sharing and
gadget interoperation. By penetrating savvy things into existing Web, the customary web
administrations are advanced with physical world administrations. This WoT vision empowers another
method for narrowing the boundary in the middle of virtual and physical universes. In this paper, we

universe that is set up in a way a monarchy would function there is the king or a president who is a
cold hearted human being named President Snow. Then there are the nobles or in this situation the
capital people, the capital people are wealthy and they dress outrageously just so people can
distinguish them from non wealthy people. Lastly skipping the presents you have the slaves or the

50th games had twice as many competitors as normal. The twist to the Quarter Quell this time around
is all competitors will be previous victors. Because Katniss knows Peeta will not let Haymitch

instantly pledges she will do whatever it takes to save Peeta, even though she knows that will
ultimately result in her death. Peeta and Katniss now head to the Capitol for training. It is a much
different scene then the first time around. They get a chance to meet their fellow tributes at this time.
Haymitch tells Katniss and Peeta their best shot is to form an alliance with other victors. Katniss
decides she wants to team up with the reputable Finnick Odair who comes with Mags, his eighty year
old mentor, Beetee and Wiress from District 3 who are incredibly smart, however lacking in social
skills and Johanna Mason a feisty victor from District 7. The evening of pre game interviews arrives.
Peeta announces at the interviews that he and Katniss are already married and are expecting a child,
which of course is a lie in a last attempt to get others to save her. The time for the games has now
arrived. When the competitors rise into the arena, it is revealed it consists of mainly water. Katniss

Hotel-Booking Market
PROMOTIONAL CHANNELS
Hotel booking market is heating up its rivalry, as Hotel sales in the U.S. and European online hotel
bookings market are projected to increase by 16 percent to $79 billion next year, from $68 billion in
2012. Travel related inquiries on search engines are now second most searched topics, surpassing
shopping, according to WordStream Inc., a developer of search marketing software. Competitors for
this segment include travel advertisers such as Expedia, TripAdvisor and Orbitz Worldwide. Priceline
is the biggest spender in terms of online ad spending. Priceline, an online booking giant, boosted
annual ad spending to more than $1 billion. The competition strategy over other booking websites like
Expedia and Google have raised questions about the benefits of promoting online versus good old
fashion TV campaigning. Online advertising is preferred method today as it provides consumers a
quick way to compare prices and complete the transaction all in one step. Online channels recently
included social networking services Facebook and Twitter take a majority share of the web advertising
market. Second portion of that share is still spent for ads on search sites. With major decline in money
spent on TV campaigns, Priceline is one of the companies still heavily vested in TV ads and continues
to use that promotion channel to raise brand awareness. Also, in 2013 TripAdvisor, the hotel reviews
site, started to broadcast its first TV advertisement in the US proving that

Caryl Phillips The Nature of Blood Essay
Caryl Phillips The Nature of Blood
On its most immediate level, Caryl Phillips The Nature of Blood narrates several stories of the Jewish
Diaspora, using the familiar Shakespearean character Othello to provide a counterpoint to the others
experiences of displacement. The Nature of Blood thus initially seems to fit awkwardly among texts
by other West Indian authors who use the Caribbean as the setting of their work or incorporate West
Indian characters into their work. Through his multi stranded narrative, however, Phillips creates a
geographical setting that mirrors the multi regional influence of the Caribbean. The triangular space of
Europe, the Middle East, and Africa shaped by the character s stories parallels the historical ... Show

This triangular situation of spaces in turn allows Phillips, while not specifically addressing the region,
to explore the condition of the Caribbean diaspora.
The first narrative of The Nature of Blood unsettles the existence of geographical home by
questioning optimistic views of settlement. Stephan opens the novel, explaining plans for the creation
of the new state of Israel to Moshe, a Romanian Holocaust survivor. Their dialogue reveals Moshe s
unease with the claim to Israel as a new Jewish state, even as Stephan expresses optimism: Tell me,
what will be the name of the country? Our country, I said. The country will belong to you too (Phillips
3). While Stephan insists upon claiming Israel both for himself and Moshe, Moshe resists this
possessiveness, hence his inquiry about the country rather than his country. Even after Stephan asserts
that Moshe has as much stake in Israel as the other settlers, Moshe hesitates, failing even to remember
the name of the new country. At the same time that Stephan and Moshe s dialogue questions
resettlement, the prose of the novel s opening establishes Moshe as part of a diasporic population. The
narrator describes Moshe as one of the

The Positive Impact Of The Juvenile Justice System

have committed indescribable crimes are being released back into the community for a second

in anyway.Kevin C Framingham has a very strong opinion in which he is agreeing with the way the

an amazing idea. The article is called Punishment or Rehabilitation? . He answered the question many
people ask What is the true aim of our prison system? The answer he gave was Their most important
function must be to rehabilitate criminals into society so prisons can have a positive effect on inmates
.This should not be the goal in our JJS. As of now, the JJS is rehabilitating murders, molesters, sexual
assaulters, ect. These dangerous criminals are released back into the world. This is putting men,
women, and children in danger everyday ,yet the JJS still does it. In the month of May,2015 two

Thalamic Stimulation (DBS) Study
Consciousness is the state of being awake and aware of your surroundings. Individuals with epilepsy
have problems with regaining a conscious state of mind after having a seizure. They never know when
a seizure is coming or how long it will take to recover from one, so they have to alter their activities
until they are aware of their surroundings again. Thalamic stimulation or deep brain stimulation (DBS)
is an approach that helps to demonstrate a way to treat neurological disorders such as epilepsy by
surgically implanting small electrodes into parts of the brain and stimulating that area with low to high

Study conducted by British Antarctic Survey in 2004 emphasized that Antarctic krill numbers are

Vita s mother surely took exception to her daughter s life being so openly flaunted. Though she herself
was not a role model of marital fidelity. In fact, for Vita s parent s extra marital affairs was the norm.
From this influence, Vita based her actions; a reason that caused Virginia much pain later in their
relationship.
Virginia became fascinated with Vita s family history. Vita s family could be traced back to William
the Conqueror. Vita s ancestry and her own life style differed greatly from Virginia s. Vita was
dramatic, exciting and thrilling; Virginia, mousy, quiet, intellectual. This difference between their
personalities and family history captivated Virginia. Part of the attraction was the story Vita had to tell.
Virginia fell on it, dramatised and exaggerated it, long before she wrote Orlando (Lee 481). The
family house, central in Orlando, was Vita s great love. Because she was a woman, she was prevented
from inheriting the house. Virginia always associated Vita with her house and ancestry; it was as much
the inspiration for Orlando as Vita herself (Lee 481). Therefore Orlando returns to England a woman
and discovers a lawsuit against her. The chief charges against her were (1) that she was dead, and
therefore could not hold any property whatsoever; (2) that she was a woman, which amounts to much
the same thing... (Orlando 168). In Orlando, Virginia gives Vita (as Orlando) the power of her
ancestors (by

The factors that affect investments are based on the priorities of the stakeholders and decision makers,
which are either based on long term growth or short term profit. In most cases firms tend to invest
over long term (Adler R.W. 2000). There are many formal methods that are used in Investment
appraisal and many of which are criticized as being traditional;
Payback,
Accounting rate of return (ARR),
Net present value (NPV),
Internal rate of return (IRR),
Modified internal rate of return,
Multi attribute decision model (MADM),
Computer integrated manufacturing (CIM). Within investment appraisal there are traditional methods
that have been used for years while there are other methods that have been modified to account for
factors that are not considered in the traditional methods (discussed more below). An example of this
would be for a traditional method such as payback it is not enough to just use it alone as a decider for
an investment, other methods must be looked at too (Adler R.W. 2000).
Traditional Investment Appraisal Techniques Modified Payback period is considered to be the easiest
method of investment appraisal basically because it judges an investment based on time taken to get
back the initial investment. Almost 9 out of ten firms use Payback (F.M. Wilkes, J.M. Samuels, S.M.
Greenfield, 1996). Projects with shorter payback period are seen as more attractive by

Marilyn Monroe In The Asphalt Jungle
If I m a star, then the people made me a star. ~Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn Monroe was a very unique
and well known person to a lot of people. She has a generous heart and strong independence. You

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Hot Melte Extrusion
In hot melt extrusion, materials are heated, melted and dispersed to be cooled. This process is not
suitable for thermolabile products, and the excipients should be miscible in the molten state [12].
Large size particles are produced by hot melt extrusion. Process parameters such as temperature,
pressure and mixing rate determines product properties like density, particle morphology, size and size
distribution. Table 2 lists the advantages and disadvantages of hot melt extrusion technique [2,5].
The process typically consists of three phases (figure cxxx). First, feeding phase in which excipients
enters the heating chamber. Second, the excipients melts and a screw allows its mixing and transfer
into the extrusion station. Finally, Extrusion in which the extruder controls the shape and size of the
extrudate once is cooled down and cut [12,13].
Co milling is very efficient in dispersing and homogenizing excipients, it also reduced partiele size in
aqueous media. This technique ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The cooling rate has a direct effect on the co crystal s size, growth and shape. After co crystals
production, they are then filtered and washed to eliminate impurities. Finally, the crystals are dried,
milled and sieved to reduce their particle size [2].
Co crystallization involves two main steps: nucleation (the material starts its crystallization process on
a specific site) which can occur in labile zone that is a zone not optimal for crystal growth, and second
the crystal or co crystal growth. The solid crystals can be formed from liquid, melt or gas, and are
more stable than the individual initial materials and held together by non covalent forces. Compared to
the initial material, the co crystal has a different crystallinity, solubility and mechanical properties

Treaty Of Paris Dbq
What is the Treaty of Paris? Why does it matter to me? Well, to answer these questions, the Treaty of
Paris was a document signed on September 3, 1783. This document was a significant event in history
because it represented the British acknowledgment of American Independence. The French and Indian
War (the cause for the treaty) was the result of France and Great Britain s conflict mainly over Ohio
River Valley and one other territory. Without it, who knows what America would be like today.

The Institution of Slave Trade Essay
The Institution of Slave Trade
The institution of slave trade and the actual experiences of slavery that occurred in the Caribbean were
to form a monumental part of that region s culture, society, and everyday interactions, both in the past
and in the present. The culture that is present today in the Caribbean is the result of many different
influences varying from those introduced by ruling colonial countries, to influences that the slaves
stressed, and even from brand new colonies being developed. The diverse and multifaceted culture
that is present today is a direct result of the institution of slavery.

In fact many historians to this day debate over the question of whether or not the plantations even
made any profit over their period of existence.
More and more pirates emerged as the demand for sugar continued to increase, and therefore more and
more slaves were also needed. After these pirates attacked slave ships en route to the Caribbean, they
would take the slaves and trade them in the Caribbean for sugar, molasses, and rum and make their
way back to Europe top begin the process all over again.
Because these pirates did not differentiate between the countries ships that they attacked (excluding
their own), they began some of the first mixing of slaves and cultures into one group. Often times they
would take the non black deckhands of the attacked ship and either make them slaves as well, or
assign them to deck duty upon their own ship. This general small scale mixing was the beginning to
what was to ensue on a much larger scale in the very near future.
Another area that began to increase the tendency for cultural and social mixing was the fact that as
more and more pirates sailed the sea, counties began to send less and less of their commissioned trade
ships. As fewer and fewer of these countries vessels made contact with their various plantation
colonies in the Caribbean, their cultural influence on them

Hidden Reasons for Kodak s Digital Revolution Essay
Kodak and the Digital Revolution: Case Analysis
Since the early 1880 s, Kodak had proven themselves to be great innovators and had worked on
building their brand on a domestic and international front. They invested heavily in marketing to
establish their image and realized early on that their profits would come from consumables rather than
hardware. They sold their equipment at low prices in order to fuel their highly profitable film sales.
This use of a razor blade strategy, coupled with strong relationships with retailers positioned Kodak as
an industry leader. Additionally, their heavy investment in R amp;D allowed Kodak to grow
organically, proving fruitful with the advent of color film. Thus, Kodak s expertise in color film ...

Most of the penguins form new pair bonds each year, which means that they mate with another
penguin each breeding season. There is a study that says only about 14.6% pair of penguins stay with
the same mate each year. The male penguin arrives to their nest before the female penguin does. Since
there are more female penguins than male penguins, there will be major competitions to get a female.
To attract females, the male penguin will stand still, put their head on their chest, inhales, and give out
a courtship call. They keep this position for a few seconds before moving to another position. To nest,
both penguins travel to a colonial nesting area at around March or early April and lay a single egg in
May or early June. The single egg weighs about 460 or 467g. Once they lay an egg, the male penguin
is in charge of incubating the egg while the female penguins go back to an area to obtain food. The job
of the male penguin is to keep the egg protected from any danger and they also have to keep the egg
between their legs so that it can be warm. If the egg is exposed to the cold, the egg and baby penguin
will die rapidly due to the severe temperature of the Antarctic. It takes about 64 days for the egg to
hatch and the age of the fledging is about 150 days. Once the egg hatches, the female penguin comes
back from bringing food to the nesting area. The male penguin has been fasting for

Build then sell (BTS) concept and adoption of the system had been discussed and debated a long time
by various construction and properties related parties in Malaysia. The idea was originally mooted in
the 1980s and since then various attempts to implement the system had met with dead ends (BTS
Review, USM, Nor Aini). However the system was proposed again by our previous Malaysia Prime
Minister, Tun Abdullah Bin Ahmad Badawi as a way to promote better quality housing and provide
greater protection for home buyers. Therefore, the BTS delivery system was introduced and

The Road By Cormac Mccarthy
In Cormac McCarthy s The Road, the father presents to the reader three distinct characteristics that
shapes his personality through novel. When the man mentions of carrying the fire to his son, meaning
that his son carries the load of civilization, compassion, and sympathy, the father expresses multiple
times that he lives for his son, and only for his son. The world of The Road is a complete anarchy, and
the man displays extensive amounts of bravery while trying to face the struggles and hardships that is
presented to them. Whether the challenge is to be hiding from cannibals, or wandering into dangerous
abandon houses, the man always exhibits ample amounts of bravery. Even though the man s son is
born into the disheveled and chaotic world and experiences nothing else before, the boy s sense of
right and wrong came from his father. The man constantly influences his son by telling him that they
are the good and guys: Look at me, the man said. He turned and looked. He looked like he d been

son with a compass of separation between good and bad. Although the man believes his son learns this

How Do Special Interest Groups and Mass Media Influence...
The media, interest groups, and political standard is a fascinating marriage in our mechanically
exceptional social order. It is better comprehended when differentiated into their singular commitment
to our social order to positively feel their effect on our day by day lives. Broad communications is
characterized as a method for correspondence that achieves a huge volume of individuals in a short
measure of time (broad communications). Interest groups could be better seen as an aggregation that is

convictions in a given populace. By understanding what these parts of the current political ideal model

The Importance Of Agriculture In Schools
I think agriculture can help schools. Through Agriculture in Schools, students ages 10 14 and their
teachers receive training in best practices, including compost making, proper sowing and cultivation.
Students who participate learn to appreciate the great importance and dignity of agricultural work.
Agriculture will help with fresh ingredients; young people often have a poor opinion of agricultural
work. Clearly, this could be the answer to teach students, how to be able to grow more food of better
nutritional quality. Agriculture should be an elective or even a requirement at schools.
Many students who has grow in farms specially, do not want to have agriculture as a courses, because
they aspire to break away from what they consider a financially and morally impoverishing vocation.
So, an option could be to have agriculture, as a club where student interested on learning more about
agriculture, which is the cultivation and breeding of animals, plants and fungi (fungus) for food, fiber,
biofuel, medicinal plants and other products used to sustain and enhance human life. So with this
information, do you believe agriculture can help schools?

PEKING DUCK
Peking duck is a famous duck dish from Beijing that has been prepared since the imperial era. The
meat is prized for its thin, crisp skin, with authentic versions of the dish serving mostly the skin and
little meat, sliced in front of the diners by the cook. Ducks bred specially for the dish are slaughtered
after 65 days and seasoned before being roasted in a closed or hung oven. The meat is eaten with
scallion, cucumber and sweet bean sauce with pancakes rolled around the fillings. Sometimes pickled
radish is also inside, and other sauces (like hoisin sauce) can be used.
The cooked Peking Duck is traditionally carved in front of the diners and served in three stages. First,
the skin is served dipped in sugar and garlic sauce. The meat is then served with steamed pancakes
spring onions and sweet bean sauce. Several vegetable dishes are provided to accompany the meat,
typically cucumber sticks. The diners spread sauce, and optionally sugar, over the pancake. The
pancake is wrapped around the meat with the vegetables and eaten by hand. The remaining fat, meat

Levy is shown in some scenes through Cliff s movie. Prof. Levy basically explains that life is a great
thing, and it s naturally neutral, but humans inflict their feelings onto life, and humans can live life
through making their own decisions and trying to be happy. Prof. Levy says that life is good, morality
is man s creation, and that people should strive to be happy. However, despite these positive ideas, the
professor ends up killing himself, leaving a note saying I ve gone out the window . This is an
incredible moment in the movie, showing that no matter what outlook and ideology a person has on
life, sometimes it can be too much. Prof. Levy killed himself because he understood how simple life
was. You are born, you survive, you live, you die, and that s it. Humans are not simple, we are born
and we survive, yet we seek love and affection, we create bad and good, we create God, we accept
God, we accept morality, we betray morality, we are no longer happy, and then we die. Humans make
life difficult and complex, and I think Woody Allen uses the professor to show this. Prof. Levy knew
this, and so he ended his life because it was the only way to avoid the complexity humans created. His
suicide note is simple and straightforward; the way death is. No matter what a person s belief, no

Compare And Contrast Dylan Thomas And Because I Could Not...
Two literary pieces, Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night by, Dylan Thomas and Because I Could
Not Stop for Death by, Emily Dickinson are both poems that discuss the topic of death. While there
are some similarities and comparisons between the two poems, when it comes to the themes, both
poets writing styles are quite different from one another which makes each poem unique. Thomas and
Dickinson both use identical figurative language devices and other literature symbolisms as they
explain their main themes which contrasts the differences to the concept of death. These distinct
variations between poems are apparent in both the form, and how the choice of words is used in the
poems. Both of the authors have presented two very different ideas on death. The poems are well
distinguished literature devices, they share minor similarities and differences between each other and
how they present the meaning of death to a toll. In each poem, the poets share distinct views on the
perception of death. While Dickinson s poem, Because I Could Not Stop for Death, structures her
poem to present her central theme of accepting death peacefully and agreeable. On the other hand, the
poem Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night by, Dylan Thomas uses rejection and denial in the
process to present his poem s theme. Both narrators distinguish death with detailed words or phrases.
For example, in Dickinson s poem she states, Because I could not stop for Death, he kindly stopped
for me (1 2).

Analysis of Skellig Essay
This story is about a young boy called Michael who was looking forward to moving house, but his
baby sister falls ill and he feels helpless. Michael s life changes forever when he finds a strange
creature in his garage and he confides in his new friend Mina. This book has a very interesting
storyline where issues such as death, life, friendship and love are examined carefully.
Comments and Reflections
When I first saw the book I was not sure what it was going to be about, although I did think that
Skellig was possibly an alien or creature. I had heard positive comments about the book so I was
looking forward to reading it.
I do not remember ever reading a book quite like this one before. I think it is different as it puts you

I liked David Almond s choice of characters. Skellig is a character that is not often found in children s
literature, he is gentle, yet spooky and human/non human. Michael the main character grows into a
stronger person by the end of the story, we watch him grow. I liked Mina as she is a strong minded
character who has certain beliefs which are explored in the story.
The narrative voice of this story is in the first person of Michael so we are automatically asked to
emphasise with him. I really liked the phrase `he laughed but did not smile . This phase was often said
throughout referring to Skellig. I thought the language used was effective however there was swearing
in the book which may not be appropriate to children and I thought it was irrelevant.
The passages that have stayed in my mind most vividly are chapter twenty where Michael takes Mina
to see Skellig and chapter thirty nine when Michael s mom described the dream she had had. I was
most touched by chapter twenty eight when Michael could not feel the heart beat, I thought the baby
had died and was relieved to find she had not.
I did not really dislike any part of this book but I did not like the pain the family had to go through
because of the baby s illness.
This book is the kind of book which gives you a lot of questions, but answers are hard to find. When
the character Skellig was introduced I immediately asked myself why was he in the

Essay On King George III
King George III did a lot of stuff to America for no reason. We shouldn t of put up with as long as we
did. George made people who owned house just let British soldiers come into their house and stay
there for as long as they want. Some people do not have room for these soldiers just to come into their
house like that. It was are for the people of America to just accept that. When the British troops
committed a crime they got away with it. None of this is fair. British cut off all trading with the world
and we are loosing everything we have because we can t make money or get different things to
survive. British is a bigger countries and far more developed than us at the moment so we can t make
money like they can. British thinks it s protecting their countries and job but it s not protecting or

We are trying to help shoulder the burden of payment. All the British armies was trying to keep the
peace between everyone. King George was just trying to protect their country and America by
stopping trade between countries. He had a very good strategy on how to keep money coming in
without trading though. It is completely acceptable and needed for military rule over military. We don
t want civil authority ruling over soldiers. King George was just trying to protect his country plus keep
our developing to get as good as his. I don t think he did anything out of harm. He didn t plan on
damaging the lands of the America and just wanted peace. King George was a very good king and had
very good reasons for everything he did. We don t need to be blaming everything on him. He was
trying to help our country. He taxed a lot of items in our country but every country has to survive

Beaver Research Paper
Beavers are known for their natural trait of building dams on rivers and streams, and building their
homes (known as lodges ) in the resulting pond. They are famously busy, and they turn their talents to
reengineering the landscape. They have thick fur, webbed feet and flattened, scale covered tails. With
powerful jaws and strong teeth. Average life span in the wild up to 24 years. Beavers are the second
largest rodent in the world after the capybara. There are two species of beavers, which are found in the
forests of North America, Europe, and Asia: American beaver and Eurasian beaver. The American
beaver (Castor canadensis) typically weighs from 11 to 32 kilograms (24 to 70.5 pounds) and are 74 to
90 centimeters (29 to 35 inches) long. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Beaver homes are called lodges and they are made from mud and branches. Lodges are positioned in
the middle of the pond, with hidden entrance (from the water), which prevents predators to get in
touch with them. Males and females beavers look very similar. The beaver is mainly a nocturnal
animal they hunt and work during the night. Beavers are herbivores, and prefer the wood of quaking
aspen, cottonwood, willow, alder, birch, maple and cherry trees. They also eat sedges, pondweed, and
water lilies. Beavers do not hibernate, but store sticks and logs in a pile in their ponds, eating the
underbark. Beavers are semi aquatic species, which means that they spend part of their life in the
water and part on the ground. The beaver has a good sense of hearing, smell, and touch. It has poor
eyesight, but does have a set of transparent eyelids which allow them to see under water. The large
front teeth of the beaver never stop growing. The beavers constant gnawing on wood helps to keep
their teeth from growing too

A Midsummer Night s Dream Puck
One of the most fascinating characters in William Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream is
Puck, also known as Robin Goodfellow. In English and Celtic folklore, the word Pouk was a medieval
term for the devil: Robin Goodfellow was also a nickname for the devil. Although Puck shows
antagonistic qualities, many critics believe Puck to be the closest thing to a protagonist A Midsummer
Night s Dream has.
Puck is the only character that is directly involved in all of the action that takes place throughout the
play. Although the action doesn t affect Puck personally, without him, the events of the play wouldn t
take place. According to critic Ana Isabel Bordas del Prado, Puck is completely crucial to the play,
although he appears to be a kind ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Puck s interference with the Athenian citizen s relationships and the love flower emphasizes the the
difficulties of love, the power of magic, the nature of dreams[,] and the relationships between fantasy
and reality (Bordas del Prado). When Oberon sends Puck to mess with Titania, Puck makes her fall in
love with Nick Bottom, a member of the Athenian working class, after giving him the head of a
donkey. When Titania professes her newfound love for Bottom, he admits, Methinks, mistress, you
should have little reason for that: and to say the truth, reason and love keep little company together
nowadays (Shakespeare). Bottom sees how illogical Titania s interest in him is, but he goes along with
it anyways. Puck creates such a strange relationship out of thin air, between two people that have
absolutely nothing in common. The theme of love being completely unpredictable is evident between
these two, as well as it is between the four Athenian lovers. Though Puck stirs up trouble, he is a
benevolent spirit, and can easily convey the message of love to the audience. Many times in
Shakespeare s play, the main protagonist ends the show with a recap of events and a goodbye blessing.
At the end of the play, Puck closes the show with a positive narration, We will make amends ere long;
else the Puck a liar

Analysis Of Esmerelda Santiago s Life
It s hard to say that comparing two individual s lives is an easy task. When looking at my life and
Esmerelda Santiago s life, the sociological imagination could be used to assist in doing that. The
following concepts will be used to better understand the surprising similarities and differences:
immigration, doing gender, conformist, double consciousness, deviance and traditional authority. I
will start by analyzing Esmerelda Santiago s life. Following that, I will analyze my life and will finish
with a conclusion that draws out the comparisons and differences of both. To begin, Esmerelda
Santiago and her family immigrated into the United States from Puerto Rico. Immigration means, the
movement of persons into a non native country. At this point in time the family only consisted of
Esmerelda, her seven younger siblings, Mami, Tata, Tío Chico, and Don Julio. After moving around
from apartment to apartment, they finally settled down in Brooklyn, New York. Esmerelda explains
that they came to Brooklyn, in search of medical care for my youngest brother, Raymond, whose toes
were nearly severed by a bike chain (Santiago 1998: 3). Mami hoped for better medical attention for
her child than she would have received in Macún, Puerto Rico. Esmerelda also describes the
apartment they currently lived in on McKibbin Street, in New York as, more substantial that any of
our houses in Puerto Rico (Santiago 1998: 6). This shows her level of living back in Puerto Rico was a
worse living

brought light to a movement that was able to fly under the national radar until that fateful day in
August, the removal of the Confederate flag and monuments. This paper will demonstrate the need to

The centrality of slavery as a cause of the Civil War was written out of the collective memory of the
war. The process by which that happened is significant and important. It happened through a concerted
effort to first forget the causes of the war, then to focus on the war as an effort to protect the
homeland. (Brophy)
It took less than 30 years for the truth of why the war began to be undermined, in other words it took
less than one generation to change the course of peace and equality our nation was headed down, to a
radically divisive path that left an entire race of people marginalized, pushed to the sidelines of civil
society, and locked out of the bastions of power. Brophy offers a unique view on how this happened
by looking at history through a legal lens. In a field like law, which draws so much upon cultural
values, it is no surprise that judges like historians, novelists, and filmmakers reflected an incorrect
view of history and built upon. (Brophy) There are three notable cases that came before the Supreme
Court between, 1873 1896 The Slaughter house cases, United States v. Cruikshank, and Plessy v.
Ferguson. (Brophy)
The Slaughterhouse Cases are important because of how the court changed the meaning and function
of the Fourteenth Amendment.
the U.S. Supreme Court in 1873, ruled that a citizen s privileges and immunities, as protected by the
Constitution s Fourteenth Amendment against the states, were limited to those spelled out in the

He explains eight developmental stages in which physical, cognitive, instinctual, and sexual changes
combine to trigger an internal crisis whose resolution results in either psychosocial regression or
growth and the development of specific virtues (Erikson, 2012). Since studies show that the develop
of schizophrenia around the ages of 16 through 30 and John was in graduate school at the time of
development it is safe to say that he was in his 20 s. In Erikson eight stages of development John is in
stage six of the eight stages of development which is intimacy versus isolation. Erikson stated that a
person who, as a result of sever disturbances in the earliest dyadic relationships, fails to develop a
basic sense of trust or the virtue of hope may be predisposed as an adult to the profound withdrawal
and regression characteristic of schizophrenia (Erikson, 2012). Due to earlier difficulties in
development intimacy versus isolation may be impacted by schizophrenia in adulthood. Since this
stage is contributed to love it is obvious that John is having problems in this stage (Reitan, 2013). Due
to the development of schizophrenia at an early stage in the lifespan development it is easy to say the
people with schizophrenia will need support during the later stages of development to ensure that they
will be able to continue with developmental skills and wellness (Reitan,

fear and prejudice keep many highly qualified people from serving. This weakened every branch of
the military by limiting it to a less diverse and therefore less flexible fighting force. 1. History of the

This simple act should not be overlooked. It was possibly the first time that any high ranking political
figure had gone out their way to ensure that blacks were not mistreated and was seen by many as a
bold and risky move on Lincoln s part. Not everyone was welcome in the U.S. military. Women in
particular were heavily restricted. Women could only serve as nurses and then nowhere near an active
combat zone. Black women, who could not formally join the Army, nonetheless served as nurses,
spies, and scouts, the most famous being Harriet Tubman. When the Civil War began, Tubman worked
for the Union Army, first as a cook and nurse, and then as an armed scout and spy for the 2nd South
Carolina Volunteers. She was the first woman to lead an armed expedition in the war for America. She
led a Union raid on the Combahee River in the interior of South Carolina on June 2, 1863. This single
raid was credited with freeing over 750 slaves was a humiliating blow to the Southern cause and a
major morale booster for the North. Tubman will always be remembered for her role in the
Underground Railroad but her service to the military in a time of war should never be forgotten. The
history of black soldiers did not change much until December 7th 1941. On that terrible day forces of
the Japanese Imperial Navy attacked the United States Naval Base at Pearl Harbor. This single attack
plunged the U.S. into the Second World War and changed

Challenges Of Decentralization In Japan
Prefecture oriented decentralization system in Japan:
Feudal clan oriented decentralization had been employed in Japan earlier. Local Culture and
prefecture system are heavily dependent on the feudal clan system. But the Comprehensive Local
Autonomy Law was adopted as the first volley of decentralization reform in 2000. The main
provisions of the law are as outlined below.
1. Elimination of the system of delegated functions
The backbone of a decentralized system is to eliminate 561 agency delegated functions, this functions
government ministries delegate to prefectural governors, municipal mayors, and local governments;
and replace many of them with local autonomy functions.

Challenges of Decentralization:
Challenges of Decentralization in Japan common in fiscal federalism literature are the view that
decentralization can fundamentally entail gains in government efficiency and social welfare. However,
in Japan, conflicts of interests among stakeholders have impeded the promotion of decentralization. In
fact, the goal of decentralization seems to vary among Japan s numerous interested parties and
stakeholders. There are some fundamental challenges for decentralization in Japan.
Challenge regarding Administration:
In Japan, although the central government performs relatively few direct functions it remains heavily
involved in local government administration. Demarcation of roles between the central and local
governments is institutionally unclear. In many fields, there is role duplication in various levels of the
government. For example, even though public services are self governing functions (SGF, Jichi
Jimu);147 the central government takes part in providing local public services via laws or through

Discoveries, Inventions, and Technology
The 1960s was a decade where many Americas found a new life and way of living, it was the time of

we use the internet for everything we do.
Some of the first discoveries during 1960s was the first ever successful kidney transplant between non

  • 2. Market Failure Of The Pharmaceutical Industry Market failure appears when there is a failure in allocation of goods and services. When the market is unsuccessful, the government is called to intervene and correct the failure. Over the years, government participation in the pharmaceutical market has been more wide ranging than any other good or service. With the government s ability to regulate, mandate, inform, finance and provide, their intervention to overcome market failure can be beneficial for the economy. Market failure plays a significant role in today s economy. Pharmaceutical industries are a prime example. There are several possible reasons as to why and how market failures might lead to such high prices for drugs. Information asymmetry is the most critical form of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Moreover, patients often have less knowledge than the prescriber does about the appropriateness of the drug, where it can be very misinforming for the consumer. Lastly, drug efficacy is a problem in all contexts. Since stakeholders are likely, less informed than manufacturers it causes both the consumer and prescriber to depend on the manufacturer for information of the effectiveness of the drug (Bennett, Quick, Velasquez, 2016). Externalities, also viewed as the negative spillover effect, plays a role in market failures associated with pharmaceuticals. In the pharmaceutical sector, externalities take place when consumers affect the utilization of a drug s value. Externalities typically stop consumers from receiving cheaper costs for drugs because they normally don t carry the complete costs of drug expenses. Negative externalities induce a cycle of ongoing sales, more profits and more subsidies. Thus, if externalities are left to be controlled by a market then the implications will lead to high pricing on products. Recently, there had been a controversy over the rise in pharmaceutical costs involving the EpiPen in the United States. The EpiPen, also known as adrenaline/epinephrine, is a widely used injection that is used to treat allergic reactions. This generic drug has been available for many years. The EpiPen controversy is a prime example of how monopoly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Should Canada To Maintain World Peace Canada needed to go to Afghanistan to maintain world peace for many reasons. First, Afghanistan needed assistance after becoming overwhelmed with terrorist groups such as al Qaeda which had set up training camps in Afghanistan. Secondly, people around the world were starting to doubt the effectiveness of international organizations like NATO and the UN s. Finally, Afghanistan was becoming a training ground for al Qaeda and Canada had to help in the fight against terrorism by going to Afghanistan. Sending ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is because people around the world were starting to doubt and question the effectiveness of the UN. However, the UN plays a vital role in trying to achieve world peace. Lastly, efforts in Afghanistan involved the UN. The Telegraph states that the UN has been responsible for failures such as; Rwanda Genocide, rape and child sex abuse in the Congo, spreading cholera in Haiti, Iraq oil for food programme, and the massacre in Srebrenica. (Telegraph). Ambassador Richard Butler... says it would be absolutely wrong to declare the U.N. a failure, but to the extent that it is failing it s because the body s most powerful members are breaking the very rules that they say they support. (Aljazeera). These articles help bring light to some of the UN s failures and show that the world has started to question the integrity of the UN. However, the world needs the UN to maintain world peace. As claimed by MUNPlanet At a time when our security is seemingly under threat from every threat from every side... the UN remains a vital instrument of international governance. (MUNPlanet). This quote demonstrates why we still need groups like the UN to maintain world peace; to protect us from the plethora of threats that continue to threaten the world s safety. Finally, Canada needed to go to Afghanistan to support the NATO/UN sanctioned mission. Canada was part of a larger NATO led United Nations sanctioned mission...focused on helping the Government of Afghanistan assume responsibility... rebuild their nation as a stable, democratic, self sufficient society. (Forces). This quote shows that Canada needed to go to Afghanistan to prove that international collaboration is needed to maintain world peace. The Author known as, Scott Fitzgerald is considered a notable writer in the Jazz Age time period for his novels, short stories such as The Great Gatsby. Throughout the life of Scott Fitzgerald his works have proven to be of high merit that have impacted the world of literature In 1898 at Saint Paul, Minnesota, born into a middle upper class family, Fitzgerald was named after his famous second cousin Francis Scott Key but he finally went by the familiar name Scott Fitzgerald. There he became friends with future critics and writers Edmund Wilson and John Peale Bishop, and wrote for the Princeton Triangle Club, the Nassau Lit, and the Princeton Tiger. He also was involved in the American Whig Cliosophic Society, which ran the Nassau Lit. His attraction in the Triangle led to his offer of a novel to Charles Scribner s Sons where the editor admired the writing but ultimately rejected the book. He was a member of the University Cottage Club, which still displays Fitzgerald s desk and writing materials in its library. His writing pursuits at Princeton came at the cost of his assignments. He was placed on academic probation, and in 1917 he dropped out of school to join the U.S. Army. Afraid that he might die in World War I with his literary dreams unsatisfied, weeks before reporting for duty Fitzgerald quickly wrote a novel called The Romantic Egotist . Although the publisher Charles Scribner s Sons rejected the novel, the reviewer noted its originality and encouraged Fitzgerald to submit more work in the future. In the race for the Wild Card, the deficit was even higher. By the end of the season, the Marlins were 26 games back. The offseason was a rather quiet one for the Marlins. Miami seems content moving forward with its young cast of players. The Marlins only moves were a few free agency additions to the pitching staff. Their biggest haul was the signing of Wei Yin Chen to a five year, $80 million contract, while the Marlins also signed pitcher Edwin Jackson, who could bounce back from bullpen duties in 2015 to earn a rotation spot. Unfortunately for the Phillies, they finished below the Braves last year in the NL East. Philadelphia wasn t only last in the division, the Phillies also had the worst record in MLB at 63 99. However, the dreadful season earned Philadelphia the first pick in this year s MLB Draft in June. The Phillies rebuild began when they finally decided to dismantle the old core that won the World Series in 2008. From that title team, the Phillies traded the middle infielders who began their careers with the organization. Philadelphia traded shortstop Jimmy Rollins after the 2014 season and second baseman Chase Utley in August of last season. Both players were traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers and brought back a few pitching prospects. The Phillies biggest return came from trading pitcher Cole Hamels to the Texas Rangers in an eight player deal at the deadline last year. Philadelphia sent Hamels and reliever Jake Diekman to the Rangers for pitchers Matt Harrison and Jake Thompson, minor league pitching prospects Jared Eickhoff and Alec Asher, catcher Jorge Alfaro and outfielder Nick Williams. However, Harrison has battled back issues, so his castoff was merely a way for the Rangers to get the contract off their books. As this offseason began, it was new Phillies general manager Matt Klentak s job to continue the rebuild. Klentak s first move was trading closer Ken Giles and shortstop Jonathan Arauz to the Houston Astros for former No. 1 overall pick Mark Appel and pitchers Thomas Eshelman, Brett Oberholtzer, Vincent Velasquez and Harold Arauz. The Phillies deals have replenished their farm system after years of being trade deadline buyers depleted it. Although terrorism was not developed recently but rather has been around for a while, the rapid and new forms of technology and communication as well as the availability of weapons made the issue more prominent and devastating. Especially after the devastating 9 11 terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers in New York and the Pentagon. Since then the war on terror has spread too much of the Middle East, and the already tense atmosphere was made worse with Sunni and Shi ite civil wars, terrorism was a fear that was all too real and possible. With such a devastating lost after 9 11 and over 3000 civilians killed, many artists commemorated those who died in the tragic attack with paintings or eulogies, such as Johns Adams, On the Transmigration of Souls (p.505) or paintings of people leaping to their death just moments before the towers collapsed. It wasn t until years later where literary reflections of the incident were starting to be created that a stronger voice spoke up regarding what was seen as a moral urgency as terrorist attacks were beginning to occur in other parts of the world and were unfortunately becoming a common thing. Online channels recently included social networking services Facebook and Twitter take a majority share of the web advertising market. Second portion of that share is still spent for ads on search sites. With major decline in money spent on TV campaigns, Priceline is one of the companies still heavily vested in TV ads and continues to use that promotion channel to raise brand awareness. • 14. Caryl Phillips The Nature of Blood Essay Caryl Phillips The Nature of Blood On its most immediate level, Caryl Phillips The Nature of Blood narrates several stories of the Jewish Diaspora, using the familiar Shakespearean character Othello to provide a counterpoint to the others experiences of displacement. The Nature of Blood thus initially seems to fit awkwardly among texts by other West Indian authors who use the Caribbean as the setting of their work or incorporate West Indian characters into their work. Through his multi stranded narrative, however, Phillips creates a geographical setting that mirrors the multi regional influence of the Caribbean. The triangular space of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa shaped by the character s stories parallels the historical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This triangular situation of spaces in turn allows Phillips, while not specifically addressing the region, to explore the condition of the Caribbean diaspora. The first narrative of The Nature of Blood unsettles the existence of geographical home by questioning optimistic views of settlement. Stephan opens the novel, explaining plans for the creation of the new state of Israel to Moshe, a Romanian Holocaust survivor. Their dialogue reveals Moshe s unease with the claim to Israel as a new Jewish state, even as Stephan expresses optimism: Tell me, what will be the name of the country? Our country, I said. The country will belong to you too (Phillips 3). While Stephan insists upon claiming Israel both for himself and Moshe, Moshe resists this possessiveness, hence his inquiry about the country rather than his country. Even after Stephan asserts that Moshe has as much stake in Israel as the other settlers, Moshe hesitates, failing even to remember the name of the new country. At the same time that Stephan and Moshe s dialogue questions resettlement, the prose of the novel s opening establishes Moshe as part of a diasporic population. The narrator describes Moshe as one of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This contributes to one of the major themes which is, Sometimes, it is hard to learn from anything other than the pain of self experience. Examples that support this theme are shown in all three stages of Great Expectations. In the first stage of Pip s expectations, Pip asks Miss Havisham where Estella went. Through Agriculture in Schools, students ages 10 14 and their teachers receive training in best practices, including compost making, proper sowing and cultivation. Students who participate learn to appreciate the great importance and dignity of agricultural work. Agriculture will help with fresh ingredients; young people often have a poor opinion of agricultural work. Clearly, this could be the answer to teach students, how to be able to grow more food of better nutritional quality. Agriculture should be an elective or even a requirement at schools. Many students who has grow in farms specially, do not want to have agriculture as a courses, because they aspire to break away from what they consider a financially and morally impoverishing vocation. So, an option could be to have agriculture, as a club where student interested on learning more about agriculture, which is the cultivation and breeding of animals, plants and fungi (fungus) for food, fiber, biofuel, medicinal plants and other products used to sustain and enhance human life. So with this information, do you believe agriculture can help schools? First and foremost it would create fresh ingredients, because they could cook with fresh vegetables like garlic, carrots, and corn. They could help with fruits like apples and oranges. They wouldn t have to order the fruits and vegetables. They would be able to get it while saving money. They can get it whenever they need it once it s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Prof. Levy basically explains that life is a great thing, and it s naturally neutral, but humans inflict their feelings onto life, and humans can live life through making their own decisions and trying to be happy. Prof. Levy says that life is good, morality is man s creation, and that people should strive to be happy. However, despite these positive ideas, the professor ends up killing himself, leaving a note saying I ve gone out the window . This is an incredible moment in the movie, showing that no matter what outlook and ideology a person has on life, sometimes it can be too much. Prof. Levy killed himself because he understood how simple life was. You are born, you survive, you live, you die, and that s it. Humans are not simple, we are born and we survive, yet we seek love and affection, we create bad and good, we create God, we accept God, we accept morality, we betray morality, we are no longer happy, and then we die. Humans make life difficult and complex, and I think Woody Allen uses the professor to show this. Prof. Levy knew this, and so he ended his life because it was the only way to avoid the complexity humans created. His suicide note is simple and straightforward; the way death is. While there are some similarities and comparisons between the two poems, when it comes to the themes, both poets writing styles are quite different from one another which makes each poem unique. Thomas and Dickinson both use identical figurative language devices and other literature symbolisms as they explain their main themes which contrasts the differences to the concept of death. These distinct variations between poems are apparent in both the form, and how the choice of words is used in the poems. Both of the authors have presented two very different ideas on death. The poems are well distinguished literature devices, they share minor similarities and differences between each other and how they present the meaning of death to a toll. In each poem, the poets share distinct views on the perception of death. While Dickinson s poem, Because I Could Not Stop for Death, structures her poem to present her central theme of accepting death peacefully and agreeable. On the other hand, the poem Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night by, Dylan Thomas uses rejection and denial in the process to present his poem s theme. I liked Mina as she is a strong minded character who has certain beliefs which are explored in the story. The narrative voice of this story is in the first person of Michael so we are automatically asked to emphasise with him. I really liked the phrase `he laughed but did not smile . This phase was often said throughout referring to Skellig. When Titania professes her newfound love for Bottom, he admits, Methinks, mistress, you should have little reason for that: and to say the truth, reason and love keep little company together nowadays (Shakespeare). Puck creates such a strange relationship out of thin air, between two people that have absolutely nothing in common. The theme of love being completely unpredictable is evident between these two, as well as it is between the four Athenian lovers. The following concepts will be used to better understand the surprising similarities and differences: immigration, doing gender, conformist, double consciousness, deviance and traditional authority. I will start by analyzing Esmerelda Santiago s life. Following that, I will analyze my life and will finish with a conclusion that draws out the comparisons and differences of both. To begin, Esmerelda Santiago and her family immigrated into the United States from Puerto Rico. Immigration means, the movement of persons into a non native country. At this point in time the family only consisted of Esmerelda, her seven younger siblings, Mami, Tata, Tío Chico, and Don Julio. After moving around from apartment to apartment, they finally settled down in Brooklyn, New York. Esmerelda explains that they came to Brooklyn, in search of medical care for my youngest brother, Raymond, whose toes were nearly severed by a bike chain (Santiago 1998: 3). Mami hoped for better medical attention for her child than she would have received in Macún, Puerto Rico.
