Welding Is ?
Purpose of Welding
The primary purpose of a welding machine is to
supply electrical power to a welding gun. This
electricity is used to strike an arc between the
welding gun and the piece to be welded. The
current is then converted to heat, which melts
the metal to produce the weld.
Equipment of Welding
How To Use of Welding Machine ?
Step 1 : First, turn on the welding machine. And than
select the correct amperage for the application.
Step 2 : Load an electrode in the welding gun and
ensure that the electrode clamps is touching the bare
metal of the electrode.
Step 3 : Prepare your metal. And arrange the
position of the metal.
Step 4 : If you feel the position the metal is ready.
You can welding now.
Step 5 :Finally, you must refrigerate the metal with
water. After that clean slag in the metal with
hammer.
SAFETY ANALYSIS
Danger Points / Hazards
• Electric shock
• Radiation
• Fire & explosion
• Fumes
• Burns
• Confined spaces
During Welding
1. PPE appropriate to the process being conducted
must be worn at all times
2. Maintain a distance of at least 6m from
flammable or combustible material
3. Protect gas supply lines and electrical leads from
hot metal & abrasion
• CHECK EVERYTHING YOURSELF before
starting welding, no matter who was using the
welding equipment before you
• DON'T START WELDING if you are unsure about
welding procedures for any reason
• REPORT ANY PROBLEMS with any of the
welding equipment to your Supervisor
Caution
