This document defines IoT and its components. IoT uses internet connectivity to automate devices and systems. By 2020, it is predicted there will be over 50 billion connected devices. IoT has applications in home automation, healthcare, and infrastructure management. The key components are sensors, actuators, and connectivity. Arduino Uno is a common hardware component that has inputs/outputs, memory, and works with the Arduino IDE software. Applications of IoT include monitoring devices in homes, tracking health metrics, and detecting infrastructure problems.

3. Definition:-
 IoT tries to establish advanced connectivity (with the aid of
internet) among the device or systems or services in order
to little by little make automation in all areas.
1) The first presence of IoT was felt through the ATM’s, and
goes as back as the year 1974.
2) The year 2016 was estimated to have 4.9 billion
connected things and it is predicted that by the year 2020
, the connected devices will reach or even exceed 50
billion.
3) Google bought smart thermostat maker, Nest Labs ,for
$3.2 billion, and Samsung purchased connected home
company SmartThings for $200 million

4. Scope of IoT:-
1.Building and Home Automation:-
It is related to everything in home which have the potential to
• monitor and remote control such as air condition, security
lock lightening, heating, ventilation, telephone system, TV
to make a comfort , secure, with low energy consumption
2.Health Care systems:-
Health care Systems helps to improve patient state better by
monitoring and controlling their heart rate or blood pressure or
even for their diet. Smart tablet which show us how much does
with which gradient can helps patient to get better
3.Infrastructure Management:-
Infrastructure Management is useful for monitoring and tracking
if there is any problem in urban or rural Infrastructure such as
bridges, railway lines or etc. to diminish and reduce risk of
danger and any failure in strength would be tested and alarm as
soon as possible to repair it.

8. Software components :-
 The IDE which is required for Arduino Uno is Arduino IDE. It is an
open software, freely provided by the Arduinocommunity.
 Arduino Uno works on programming language embedded C, which
is similar to C.
 The Arduino Integrated Development Environment – or Arduino
Software (IDE) - contains
 a text editor for writing code,
 a message area,
 a text console,
 a toolbar with buttons for common functions and
 a series of menu.
