Defination.
• Clinical teaching is a vehicle that provides students opportunity
to translate basic theoretical knowledge in to learning of
variety of intellectual and psychomotor skills needed to
provide patient centered quality nursing care.
Clinical education
Defination
• Clinical education is a patient centered targeted interview
specific 3 parts educational interection between a trainer,
student and patient .in clinical setting education is
challenging,complex and often daunting.in this setting nursing
student learn what real nursing mean.
Importance of clinical teaching
1. To develop high teaching and patient care skills.
2. To collect and analyze data.
3. To develop communication skills and maintain interpersonal
relations.
4. To develop cognitive, affective and psychomotor skills.
5. To maintain high standards of nursing practice .

Lecture method
• Teaching procedure consisting of clarification or explanation of
facts principles.lecture is derived from french meaning reading
is an oral presentation intended to present information or
teach people about a particular subject

aid of visuals such as flip charts posters power points ect.it is a
process of teaching someone how to make or do some thing in
a step by step process.

Advantages of role play
• Students immediately apply content in a relevant, real world
context.
• Students take on a decision making persona that might let
them diverge from the confines of their normal self-imposed
limitations or boundaries.
• Students can transcend and think beyond the confines of the
classroom setting
Disadvantages of role play
• The disadvantages of applying role-plays are: It requires expert
guidance and leadership. Sometimes participants may feel like
threatened. Strongly depends on students imagination.

• The project method is a teacher-facilitated collaborative
approach in which students acquire and apply knowledge and
skills to define and solve realistic problems using a process of
extended inquiry. Projects are student-centered, following
standards, parameters, and milestones clearly identified by the
instructor.

• The characteristics of project method are:
• 1. A project has a definite attainable goal.
• 2. It involves life-like and purposeful activities which
promote learning.
• 3. Students can plan and perform their learning activities.
• 4. It promotes learning by doing.

• 6. It provides a real and direct experience.

• 1. It helps to develop social skills and values among the students.
