Lucifer Monologue
I can show you where the brimstone sun has no remorse
Where the shattered souls fall with the ashen rain
Where the robes of reapers bear symbols of well being
Yet they burn our homes And take our children,
And bury us
All.
Oh how I recall the drum of the gun They tried to flee, but died, each
One.
The deafening screams,
Like wails of a banshee
They haunt me so
For I was there, Amongst the damned
I was a fly on grimy prison walls
Circling decomposing mothers, fathers and children alike Retching and gagging
As an entire nation was fumigated
Clinging onto life
Like autumn leaves on hickory trees
But like a leaf
The human spirit crumbles
Under the iron fist.
My eyes transfixed on that pit of hell
Arranged in graves so grotesquely grand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
How was the world to know?
We were but walking ghosts,
Only numbers,
And blistered souls
Where were the flowers that used to bloom?
And the voices that once I knew?
There are no flowers here. No time to grieve,
Just abandoned spirits in knee deep dust
For I was there,
Amongst the damned
I was just a boy, or at least I was....for some time.
I once had a mother and a father, who made me smile
Why this bloodshed, I don t understand
Spilling blood as if for fun?
For thrill?
For what?
Where were the Gods,
While we trudged through the layers of our loved ones with blood stained heels?
Auschwitz,
The name, I cannot say
For I was there,
Amongst the damned
I try to sleep, but I cannot...
I always remember,
But I am lost,
The cost too much
A swollen heart and calloused feet,
Across a barren land of bleached white bones
For I was there,
Amongst the

The Effects And Effects Of The Industrial Revolution...
the Victorian years, some of the main characteristics we think of the industrial revolution and the
effects during the Victorian period. In this assignment I m going to explain the impact that the
industrial revolution had on people in
There are three main characteristics of the industrial revolution which most people would think of first
which are urbanization, suburb slums and agricultural revolution.
Urbanization is when people move from small towns and the countryside to live in cities for more job
opportunities. It developed to many people living in overcrowded houses, which lead to social classes
being organized into geographical zones. So, the working classes and under classes lived in the inner
city and the middle and upper classes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, the seed drill which is a machine that was able to plant seeds deeper and in regular rows,
and using the method of a crop rotation which is when crops were rotated on three fields instead of
two this kept soil fertile, so more crops could grow.
There were many effects during the industrial revolution some were economic, and some were social.
One of the economic effects was the leisure industry. Using new technology and transportation many
people were able to travel more using the national railway networks, people were able to travel for
days out to the seaside for a cheap fare and so many business people started to run hotels for mainly
the middle class to go for holidays. There were many places people could go for leisure like the
Vauxhall pleasure gardens it was a place for all to go to escape reality it had a small entrance fee, but
it was a place for all social classes to mix and socialise. With all these new places and businesses there
was more opportunities for regular and full time employment. Victorian leisure became a popular
culture in Britain and its modernization under the boost of the industrial revolution. As industrialism
and urban growth began to grind down traditional patterns of rural life. Music halls became very
popular by the 1800 s and succeeded as a prototype modern entertainment industry . The middle class
had more options of leisure than the working class as they had

Imaginary Revolution
In a time of fear, rebellion and possible revolution, drastic actions must be taken to ensure the stability
and safety of a country. Therefore the authorities were justified in their actions, as drastic as they may
have been. Order and stability is the most important element in a country. Without a set of guidelines
and rules, the foundations begins to crack, and it no longer is a sovereign country, but just a wasteland
of rioters and people doing whatever they feel is necessary. There is not always a guarantee that a
country will come with a positive outcome when revolutionary actions are taken, like Russia was.
There is possibility for both the collapse of government, the fall of economy, as well as a high risk of
danger. To prevent this, the government had to take action, not to kill a man and injure innocent
civilians, but to prove a point. A point that outbreak in a violent manner, and the stalling of the
economy is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The profiteering and change of resource output drastically affected the economy of Canada after the
war. Inflation was at an all time high, and business men were forced to fire their workers in factories
where war goods were being produced, as they no longer served a purpose. There is very little the
government can do to prevent capitalism, as you have a large majority of the general public who
support it, as well as entire parties who follow its ways. To prevent capitalism, work rights have to be
put in place, as well as taxes on those who make the greatest outcome. This of course happened later
on, which stabilized the country s economy. The government must put restrictions on the abilities the
factory owners have to prevent unjustified firing and treatment, and payment in order to thin the wage
gap and increase the quality of life in

Italian Film and Neorealism
Italian Neorealism, a movement that focused on the arts began in 19th century post war Italy and
became the repository of partisan hopes for social justice in the post war italian state. (Marcus, xiv)
Even before the war, Italy had been under the dictatorship of Benito Mussolini and his corrupt form of
government, Fascism, which caused oppression throughout the country. Neorealistic films allowed
filmmakers to use common styles and techniques to finally reveal the world filled with anguish and
misery that Mussolini had created. These films allowed the rebirth of Italy with the new ideals of
freedom and social order. Some directors choose to add melodramatic elements to their neorealistic
film which goes against Neorealism s goal to project the Italy in its real form. However, although
Rome Open City by Roberto Rossellini and Bitter Rice by DeSantis have classic hollywood narrative
characteristics, the portrayal of women and children represent neorealist principles that help us further
understand the struggles and conflicts of women and children during post war Italy.
The concept of Italian Neorealism includes location shooting, natural lighting, lengthy takes, the
superior use of medium and long shots, the use of non professional actors which would include the
individuals natural dialect, and the avoidance of any major editing to provide the viewer with a more
real quality. (Marcus 22) On the other hand, a classic hollywood narrative, also known as hollywood
realism,

Premarital Sex and Religion Essay
Premarital Sex and Religion
The Catholic Church teaches that premarital sex is wrong, yet it is still widely practiced around the
world. The reason marriage was created was to join two people of the opposite sex together in a holy
sacrament that would make the couple one. God s reason for marriage is quoted in the bible when he
said, For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother and be joined to his wife, and the two
shall become one flesh. The Sacrament of marriage is one of the most sacred Sacraments in the
Catholic Religion. By performing premarital sex, the couple is breaking a covenant with God and is
performing a sin. Marriage is the joining of a couple in the eyes of God and in the eyes of the State.

Premarital sex goes against God s law so our relationship with God is destroyed. Penance can heal our
relationship with God, but the emotional ties that go along with premarital sex can hurt a person for
life. Many couples that have premarital sex often do not stay together in marriage. Many people have
strong emotional hardships that they go through after having premarital sex. Premarital sex doesn t
just lead to sin; it leads to a separation of God and your family and friends. Sex is the sacred sigh of
the covenant with God, when a couple has sex they are sealing the covenant with God. Breaking this
sign of the covenant is one of the most harmful sins that we as a people can expose ourselves to. In
order for us to enter into heaven God says But among you there must not even be a hint of sexual
immorality, or of any kind of impurity...because these are improper for God s holy people.1 Breaking
the sign of the covenant with God is breaking God s law and going against everything God wants for
us. God doesn t ask much from us considering all that he has given us, he asks us only to follow his
laws, in Jesus said, If you love me, you will obey what I command.1 Premarital sex goes against God
s command and ruins our relationship with him.
Since the time of Christ, Christians have thought premarital sex to be a sin. Ancient Christians use to
believe that marriage was a second rate choice but if one lacked self control, he had to take

The Wage Gap Is A Conflict Within The Work Force
The occupational wage gap has always been and still continues to be a conflict within the work force.
The gender wage gap is defined as the average income of a male compared to the average income of a
female. There have been a few laws that were put into effect due to women s efforts to create fairness
in the workplace. The first law, called the Equal Pay Act of 1963 signed into law by President John F.
Kennedy, requires men and women in the same workplace be given equal pay for equal work (U.S.
Equal Employment Opportunity Commission). The Paycheck Fairness Act is a recent extension of the
Equal Pay Act, it gives workers added protection to take action in the wage discrimination (National
Women s Law Center). When comparing full time and year round workers, 23.5% is the gap between
the annual male earnings compared to women and that has not changed much since 2001 (Burns, 1).
In the profession I have chosen, there is quite a difference in dominant gender between dental
hygienists and dentists. Dental hygiene is a very female dominated field of work, although few male
dental hygienists exist. Due to the gender roles our society has molded, hygiene is usually compared
to nursing because it revolves around care giving service and many believe that is not a task men are
usually willing to do. Contrary to belief, men can be just as, if not more, nurturing than women. On
the other hand, women are perfectly capable of becoming dentists as well. The culture we were raised

The Importance Of Racial Inequality
Social inequality is a recurring problem throughout, not only the country, but the world. There are all
kinds of inequalities throughout the world, and without any person or thing creating awarenesses this
will induce more pandemonium. With that being said, in order to terminate racial inequality, people
that are capable of bringing awareness to it need to start producing familiarity locally because it will
suddenly erupt onto a more global impact. When analyzing how starting to bring awareness to social
inequities and raise awareness at a local level can turn global and change the world, one who explores
the specifics of racial discrimination can aware others about the dangers and results of this certain
inequality. Politics, professional athletes protesting, and media discrimination are ways people have
been making local awareness a global reality. In the end, with more and more awareness, more and
more people will help end inequalities throughout the world. To begin, awareness of global issues
within politics happen all of the time; therefore, bringing awareness to racial inequality within politics
will spread globally and change the world. Racial discrimination occurring inside of the American
government is between Donald Trump and the Mexican culture. The most emphasized facts Trump
stated throughout his campaign and carried through his presidency is to build a wall on the border of
the United States and Mexico, keeping all illegal immigrants out of the country.

Asbestos Betwee Case Study
Having already established the basis of a theoretical outlook as well as the social history of asbestos,
which is still produced and used in American manufacturing, we will now move on to explain the
methods we are using to collect our data. For our subject area, we have selected Oneida Herkimer,
Jefferson, Oswego, and Onondaga County Solid Waste Facilities located in Upstate New York, and we
will be exploring the differences in how asbestos is disposed of in each of these counties. We chose
these counties because our insider has had direct contact with the solid waste management bosses of
these counties and can easily obtain asbestos information. We believe this is best because it limits
under reporting of asbestos amounts in fear of public exposure. Furthermore, he has a case study we
hope to analysis on the differences in the removal of asbestos from Jefferson and Oswego. We plan to
find this out by using an interview process to collect our data. We will gather information by way of
interviews with leaders from the New York State Department of Labor as well as landfill operators in
each of the five counties listed above. We hope to analyze the discrepancies and pitfalls regarding
disposal of asbestos ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Reasons For Fuzzy Sets
1 Introduction
1.1 Definition
With the development of culture, communication has become more and more important. In order to
understand each other , most people focus on how to express themselves efficiently, they use language
which is clear and certain. It seems that in this way the meaning can be expressed accurately, while
fuzzy words must be avoided. But a lot of facts have proved that the uses of fuzzy words is very
common in our daily communication.
There are a lot of scholars and linguists try to find out the definition of fuzziness. In 1965,the
American scientist L.A.Zadeh published his famous article Fuzzy Sets on the Information and Control
Magazine . He is the first to raise the theory of fuzzy sets , with the help of this theory, he studied the
fuzzy problems of different aspects. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are different reasons for fuzzy language, but most linguists can not search for the consensus. In
communications, we have to admit that the reasons for fuzzy language are complicated.
1.3.1 Objective Reasons
In objective world , different things, phenomena and features compose the continuum, it is hard to
have a clear borderlines. Since the nature has fuzzy phenomena, language can also be fuzzy. For
example, color and time in nature are continua, people have to divide them into several stages, in the
small hours , morning , noon , afternoon , dusk , evening , night and so on, there is a transition area
between two stages, which leads to the uncertainty of borderline. These words that can express this
category is also fuzzy.
This world is full of mysteries, which makes thoughts complicated and language fuzzy.
1.3.2 Subjective Reasons
People s cognition is based on the partition of things. Nationality s partition of things is related with
the features, cognition and the demand of communication. Different nationality have different way to
know and divide things, such as semantic field about

Adventures Of An Engineer s Thumb Essay
In the short story The Adventures of an Engineer s Thumb , written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, a
hydraulic engineer named Victor Hatherley seeks the help of Dr. Watson and Sherlock Homes as he is
brought to them with a broken thumb. Hatherley then explains that he accepted a job offering from a
mysterious man named Colonel Lysander Stark. Stark tasked him to look at one of his hydraulic press
machines that he owns. He says that he uses this machine to process a specific type of clay which is
found on his land. Stark tells Hatherley that he himself can t be seen working on his property for fear
of his neighbors finding out that he had stuck into a gold mine. Even though Hatherley was
unconvinced of Stark s explanation, he decided to accept the job because he was in need of money. It
was only after examining the hydraulic press that Hatherley found out that the press was being used
for heinous purposes. Stark then realizes that Hatherley found out about his plans so he tries to kill
him but only manages to cut Hatherley s thumb. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though engineers have the ability to design and manufacture things that have the potential of
increasing productivity and proficiency, they can also lead to destructive inventions. Consider the state
of the art census machine IBM developed that sold to Germany in the 1930. These devices would
allow for the collection of population data that can be studied for positive purposes. Instead, the Third
Reich used it to identify Jews and other ethic minorities which lead to the Holocaust. Even though the
IBM engineers had not designed the machine to be used to discriminate, they will forever hold the
weight of all the lives of the people lost in the Holocaust. Even though Hatherley had suspicions of

Why Was George Washington Important
George Washington was the most influential figure of his time, he lead our young nation to freedom
with little military experience. Most people were drawn to Washington s leadership and overall
humbleness, he was a typical southern gentleman who was propper and polished. Although he knew
he wanted to be a leader in his nation, he could have never known that roughly two hundred years
later, he would still be the most influential figure in the Revolutionary War. So many things
throughout his life shaped him into an excellent leader and he wouldn t have been the same without
these challenges. As a child Washington liked to do what all young southern boys did, he hunted,
fished and played in the stream. Washington s difficult mother, Mary Ball Washington, often
complained that her eldest child, George, was ungrateful and neglected his duties to his mother.
Washington s father, Augustine Washington, died when young George was eleven. His father s death
brought hardship on the family, leaving behind George and his five other brothers and sisters
(Badertscher). Due to his father s death, Washington never was able to receive a formal education
from England. He did although receive some form of education from a school in ... Show more

(3) List the objectives of the pharmacokinetic study. What can we learn from studying drugs in the
selected population?
The objective of this pharmacokinetic study was to evaluate the pharmacokinetics of prucalopride in
individuals with renal impairment. By studying drugs in patients with renal impairment, a greater
understanding of the effect of decreased drug renal clearance on drug doses can be made. This is
particularly important in the current aging population, whereby decreased renal function is a natural
consequent of old age, as is the increased prevalence of constipation associated with drug treatments
and lifestyle changes. Considering 60% of prucalopride is excreted unchanged in urine, renal
excretion is one of the most important routes of elimination for prucalopride. This further validates the
importance of this study in the selected population.
Although prucalopride is not currently approved for use in men, this pharmacokinetic study involved
both men and women. This enables results of the study to be applicable for potential future use in
men.

The Secretary Chant, By Marge Piercy
What attitudes does each of the three authors have about the consequences of work? The authors of
the three texts all share a similar attitude towards the consequences of work, which is that it can be
detrimental to one s physical and mental wellbeing. Author of text One The Secretary Chant, Marge
Piercy describes the stressful life of a secretary and how the accumulation of stressful events leads to
the secretary feeling mechanical and dehumanised. Piercy implies that, with overwork, people can
begin to lose a sense of who they are. In this instance, the Secretary believes she is no longer a human,
but instead a part of the office as her voice has been lost in the quantity of work that must be done.
Similarly, Steven Poole, who wrote text ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is further enhanced by the use of emotive language and a detached and melancholy tone. The use
of the verb, hang, and the noun, chains, acts as a possible allusion to other historical events of
oppression such as slavery. Such vocabulary choices emphasise the way in which the secretary feels
trapped and objectified in her own work environment. The secretary feels trapped because of the way
that she has been objectified, which suggests that she is only valued for her ability to work like other
office equipment, evident in line 1 where she states, my hips are a desk. The mechanical way that the
secretary is employed establishes how she no longer feels as though she is a human. Instead, she is
simply part of the office and the repetitive onomatopoeic, buzz, and, clicks, that define workplace
environments. This is supported by line 21, where the persona states, file me under W because I
wonce was a woman. In a similar way, text 2 considers the damaging effect of work through a satirical
narrative voice. This is achieved by exploring how humans are essentially slaves of the digital world.
When humans go on holiday; an event that epitomises quite the opposite of work, they are still
plagued by, the fear that catching up on a fortnight s email will be epically disgusting labour. Whilst
the prospect of reading one s emails is not the crux of the article, it acts as a humours anecdote that
reminds readers of the dangers of letting the digital world control them. The light hearted narrative
voice of the text is emphasised by the use of colloquial terms and inclusive language, such as, that first
volume of Karl Ove Knausgard you ve been meaning to read, as it appeals to the demographic of The
Guardian and encourages the

Mayan Calendar Research Paper
There are around forty different calendars used in the world today, usually for determining pious or
religious events. Many countries like the United States use the Gregorian calendar for their official
and modern activities which they are able to keep everyone organized. Over a thousand years ago in
the fifth century the Mayans came out with the first calendars. There are three types of basic calendars
that are being used today they are solar, lunar and the lunisolar/solilunar calendars. A solar calendar
can be identified by the Sun. This calendar is also based on Earth s orbit around the Sun. Lunar
calendars are based on the moon rotation around the Earth. This type of calendar is used usually for
religious dates or purposes (InpaperMagazine 2013). On the other hand, lunisolar or solilunar
calendars connect the two kinds and is basically solar calendars with dates indicating a moon phase.
The oldest known calendar was made by the Mayans. The Mayans of Central America relied not only
on the Sun and moon, but also on the planet Venus (Misiroglu 2010).

Leadership Styles Of Captain William Bligh
Compare and Contrast the Leadership Styles of Captain William Bligh verses Lieutenant Fletcher
Christian.
The topic of leadership evokes curiosity about our leaders and their approaches in decision making,
leadership styles and the effectiveness of their leadership. At time leaders are critiqued for their
actions or views on different business affairs. In today s working environment leaders set the tone,
vision, and goals of any organization. Leadership has a huge impact on the culture of an organization
and how people communicate within the organization (Northouse, 2009). The actions of leaders
should inspire and positively impact their followers. The approach of leaders in handling adversities
highlights many features of their character.
The renowned 1962 motion picture, Mutiny on the Bounty sheds light on the leadership styles of
Captain William Bligh (Captain Bligh) and Lt. Fletcher Christian (Christian) who were the two main
characters in the movie. Both men occupied positions on the ship that was bound for destination in
Jamaica, West Indies. Captain William Bligh throughout the film portrayed qualities of an autocratic
leader which is also called authoritarian leaders interchangeably. Lt. Fletcher Christian however, had
leadership styles of a democratic leader.

attaining the rank of major general and holding advisory posts in the Pentagon and briefly in the
Department of Energy. He next served at Fort Carson, Colorado, and at Fort Leavenworth before
becoming military assistant to Weinberger, then secretary of defense in the Reagan administration, in
1983. While Powell was assisting Weinberger, the National Security Council (NSC) began looking at
the possibility of sending American missiles to Iran in the hope of expediting the release of American
hostages in the Middle East and turned to Powell to provide certain information about the missiles
desired by Iran. Powell complied but subsequently questioned the scheme in writing, reminding the
NSC leadership that there was a legal obligation to inform Congress of the proposed arms transfer.
When it was pointed out that the plan had presidential authorization, Powell did what was requested of
him. The illegal missile transfer was later exposed as a key element in the controversial Iran Contra
scandal. Powell s demonstrated record of opposition to the illegality of the transfer and his excellent
demeanor in testifying before congressional investigating

The Role Of Immigrants In A Summers Reading
From the information we can understand that in the beginning of the 20th century large numbers of
immigrants came to New York City searching for more desirable life for themselves and their future
generations, the American middle class dream. In addition, these people believed that if they work
hard and have faith in themselves, they will be able to achieve a great life full of satisfaction.
This idea is clearly reflected in A Summers Reading, the story is set in a poor immigrant neighborhood
in New York City. We know the characters are immigrants from their names. (Cattanzara is Italian and
Stoyonovich is probably Slavic). George wants to attain the American Dream. He wants a nice house
with a porch on a street with trees. He is, however

Relationship Between Societies Of Today And The Environment
An interdisciplinary program presented is an investigation of the relationship between societies of
today and the environment they/we live in. In my focus particularly are societies of the Westernized
parts of the world. Their activities within, attitudes towards, values regarding and comprehensiveness
of the complexity of the environment they live and operate in. Consequently, my personal goal is to
gain a deep knowledge of the interconnectedness of human activity and alterations it does to the
environment. Equally, I also aim to understand how attitudes and values (towards the environment)
are passed from generations to generations. After successfully accomplishing studies, my goal is to
collaborate with the representatives of the younger generations to and promote awareness of their
deportment on the more global scale. Academically, my strategy is to pursue Individualized Major in
Environment and Society and to successfully accomplish Minor in Psychology withal. Environment
and Society as a traditional Major is offered at the University of California, Berkley and at the
University of Minnesota. To enhance the experience of the Individual Major, during the Junior and
Senior years at Emmanuel College, I aspire to attend Environmental Forum provided every spring by
Colleges of Fenway. As a capstone experience I foresee myself undergoing an internship in a locally
based Education Outreach Program2. On this matter, I would like to accentuate that driven by my
interest I am

The “Taxi Driver” Starring Robert Di Niro, Directed By
The Taxi Driver starring Robert Di Niro, directed by Martin Scorsese, remains to be a classic film that
continues to be recognized as a cinematographic masterpiece. This psychological thriller released in
1976, highlights Travis Binkle s life as a taxi driver in New York City. Scorsese brilliantly captures his
struggle with his own thoughts and effort to reintegrate into society as an ex US. Marine. However,
Travis is known to be a complex character that is somewhat misunderstood by others because of his
obscure thoughts and fragile psychological state, which worsens throughout the movie. Therefore, this
essay will focus on a psychological analysis of Travis personality with the help of the Big Five
Personality Factor Model along with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, he still decides to converse with others, in order to create a personal relationship, like with
Betsy or Iris. These are the only two relationships the audience view in the movie. He always decides
to be left alone in his taxi and this striking quote certainly demonstrates how being alone affects him,
Loneliness has followed me my whole life, everywhere. In bars, in cars, sidewalks, stores,
everywhere. There s no escape. I m God s lonely man (Phillips Scorsese,). Travis would not
necessarily be considered the most agreeable person since he does struggle with fitting into society. It
might seem that he does not agree with the views of others, nor put the needs of others first (Deacon,
p.78, 2013). People with low agreeableness, ... are less friendly, do not trust so easily and are less
responsive to other people s distress (Deacon, p.79, 2013). He is lonely, perhaps making him seem to
be less friendly, but also he never trusts anyone since he barely has any relationships. However, he
does want to be in a relationship with Betsy and is willing to help Iris, thus this proves that he does not
only care for himself (Deacon, p.78, 2013). Therefore, these two plot elements can demonstrate that
his score of agreeableness is in the low to middle of the spectrum for the Big Five Personality Traits.

Negative Effects of Smoking on Human Health and the Economy
Moreover, smoking particularly adversely affects women s reproductive health, and smoke exposure
on children has had detrimental and some sometimes fatal effects on children. Many studies have
examined and outlined the adverse effects of maternal smoking on both the mother as well as on the
baby and/or infant ( Hofhuis, de Jongste, Merkus, 2003 Woolbright 1994). Many states such as
Alabama required documentation on birth certificates of tobacco use of mothers (Woolbright, 1994).
Despite the Surgeon general s warning that maternal smoking may result in premature birth, fetal
injury, or dangerously low birth rate, fifteen to thirty seven percent of pregnant women still smoke

as well as other countries have filed lawsuits against the tobacco industry as a result of increased
healthcare costs induced by smoking tobacco. Many smokers within the United States depend on
financial assistance from state governments through Medicaid, a healthcare system that assists low
income families. Eventually, the tobacco industry settled the various state lawsuits in Mississippi,
Minnesota, Florida and Texas and agreed to pay thirty six billion dollars within a twenty five year
period (Bloch, Daynard, Roemer, 1998). The medical literature Warner, Hodgson, and Carroll (1999)
examined regarding the medical costs of smoking related ailments reveal that approximately eight
percent of a person s personal medical care costs is used to treat illnesses, diseases and deadly
conditions attributed to smoking, mainly lung cancer, COPD, and heart disease. These numbers,
however, do not reflect the costs of other less severe ailments that result from exposing to smoking
tobacco. Nonetheless, they reveal that medical costs represent one strain of the financial burden
smoking puts on people not only in the United States but worldwide. Despite the abundance of
literature that supports the notion that smoking burdens

Adam And Eve In The Garden Of Eden Plot
Fact: One fact that I found particularly interesting is the concept that one of the main characters of this
story, Lizzie, never altered or fell into the temptation of the Goblin s fruit. Even with the variety of
fruit the Goblin s were offering the two, Lizzie was always adamant that there was something not to
trust. On the other hand, Laura was extremely enticed by what they had to offer. Lizzie witnessed her
sister give into the temptation and the great pleasure she initially gained from indulging, and she still
never budged in her judgment of not trusting the Goblins. I find this personally interesting because
often society tends to follow what everyone else is doing and give into temptation even when we
know it is wrong. I hate to admit it, but I have given into these pressures more than once. After reading
this story I was left with a great admiration for Lizzie s strength.

the temptation of the fruit while the other sister finds the strength to hold back. No, said Lizzie: No,
no, no; Their offers should not charm us, Their evil gifts would harm us . Lizzie is struggling to get
Laura to understand that the Goblin s fruit is something of an evil spirit and it will only do harm.
Sadly, her warning isn t enough to keep Laura from giving into the Goblin s persuasion. Everyone is
tempted by the fruit leaving the reader left with the idea that the fruit is a representation or symbol of

Snowflakes could be made out of water particles, it could have ice crystals, and it could have to do

about snowflakes. Snowflakes are beautiful and enjoyable because of their marvelous formations,
unique creations, and their extraordinary causes. To begin with, the formation and the way snowflakes
are created are absolutely fascinating. According to Tabitha Walker who wrote the article Snow Day,

In the article Snow Day, by Tabitha Walker, she explains the ways of how the snowflake s process can
be complete. Precipitation only falls as snow when the air temperature is 32 degrees Fahrenheit or
below. However, if the air is 15 degree Fahrenheit or below, the snowflakes might not generate
because they need moisture to generate. When the temperature is freezing, the more heavy snow will
fall. If you want bigger snowflakes then you need more moisture in the air, if you want smaller
snowflakes you need less moisture and more freezing temperature. Another important factor needed
for snowflakes is ground temperature. Ground temperature is needed to be able to determine whether
the snowflakes will stick to the ground. Ground temperature is often more warmer because the ground
absorbs more heat from Sun than the air. This is how the process of the magical causes gets
snowflakes to the

Mongol Influence On Russia
The unification of the Mongol tribes by Chinggis Khan resulted in a powerful army and a series of
military campaigns that constructed the Mongol Empire. The Mongol Empire, lasting from the 13th to
the 14th centuries, exerted considerable political, social, and economic influence on conquered regions
such as Eastern Asia and Russia. For example, as a result of the Mongols revitalizing long distance
trade networks such as the Silk Road, both China and Russia experienced the exchange of cultures,
technologies, and diseases. However, Mongol influence on China quickly diminished after the
collapse of the Mongol Empire whereas the influence of Mongol expansion on Russia was more
consequential and far reaching albeit inadvertently. The Mongol Empire ... Show more content on

After Mongol rule over China ended in 1368 CE by rebel forces, the renewal of Confucian values and
a patriarchal social structure in the following Ming Dynasty signifies the refusal by the native Chinese
to assimilate Mongol practices into their native culture. This adamant refusal can be attributed to
discrimination against the Chinese in Mongol law and conflicting ideologies concerning the role of
women and the social status of merchants and artisans. On the other hand, the impact of Mongol
expansion to Russia continued to be influential even after the collapse of the Mongol Empire.
Linguistically, амбар in Russian and амбаар in Mongolian both translate to barn. Overall, there are
thousands of borrowed words, phrases, and other characteristics from the Mongol and Turkic language
that are featured in the Russian language because of interactions between the two during the Mongol
Empire. Moreover, the Golden Horde s occupation of Eastern Europe inadvertently resulted in the
unification and strengthening of Russia. Prior to Mongol rule, Russia was divided into city states ruled
by various independent princes. A weak economy and the lack of a strong centralized power made it
easy for the Mongols to conquer Russia. However, under Mongol rule, princes attained wealth through
siphoning off taxes as tribute collectors and learned to centralize their power from the Mongols while
the Orthodox Church was able to flourish and rise as a unifying force through tax exemptions. The
Russian state found strength in a common religion and in an allegiance towards a grand prince later
called the Tsar; overthrowing the Mongols. The reason between these differences in China and Russia
is due to different methods of administration. China was mostly governed by foreign officials, only
Mongols were allowed to hold high posts, and the Chinese held little

R. A. Lafferty s Nine Hundred Grandmothers
When one thinks about what a typical science fiction story would be about, one would typically
imagine a story that is focused on futuristic places and gadgets with some form of hard science to back
it up. However, that is not always going to be true. Psychology, a soft science, is a major part of the
science fiction genre that can be found in Nine Hundred Grandmothers by R. A. Lafferty, The Byrds
by Michael G. Coney, and Stable Strategies for Middle Management by Eileen Gunn. All three of
these stories provide the reader a look into a character s mind and how might others affect it. In Nine
Hundred Grandmothers by R. A. Lafferty, we follow a character named Ceran and his quest to find the
answer to the creation of life. He quickly becomes obsessed with finding out the answer. The names in
this story, greatly affect the opinion that each character has about themselves. This ultimately leads to
Ceran s failure in obtaining his answer as it says, if Ceran had taken on a tough personality and a
tough name he d have done it (Lafferty p. 150). This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Essential Role of the Federal Reserve
The Federal Reserve was established as the Central bank of the United States in late 1913. Commonly
referred to as the Fed, it is responsible for managing currency, money supply, and interest rates
(Lecture, 10/6). While the bank is given much autonomy over its actions, it is not independent from
the US government in that the legislature is responsible for allowing the Federal Reserve to act freely,
and elected officials appoint central bankers. These are two primary mechanisms for keeping the Fed
in check, insuring that it is acting in the nation s best interest (O, 286). Countries with central banks
that are independent from their governments tend ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the onset of the war, the stability of the relationship between Britain, France, and Germany
which the Gold Standard was dependent on crippled (lecture, 10/13). During the interwar period, 1914

floating exchange rate. The interwar period saw a breakdown in international monetary coordination
proving that a floating economy was doomed for failure (FLB 264). Outside of the lack of
international coordination, the Gold Standard had other downfalls leading to its demise. For example,
national governments had no authority to stimulate their country s economies in times of need.
Moreover, the fixed economy limits foreign trade, hurting the country s industries (lecture,

Quality Education Critical for Advancement of Informal Leadership
Most people perceive leadership only in terms of positions of power, where they can exert their
influence in either achieving their personalized desires or making things done their way. However,
there are other forms of leadership, which invaluably lead to not only personal, but also organizational
and national progress. Consider expertise as a guide to venturing into leadership. One is able to
influence change anywhere only through acquiring superior skills, which could be applied in a
vocation or profession.
Another excellent example is moral authority. People who are honest, trustworthy and thus believable

The massive unemployment then must have been an indication of a bigger problem, as we have now
come to learn.
The results for the Kenya certificate of Secondary Education for 2016 (KSCE) seem to have revealed
the genesis of the unemployment and unemployabilty challenges. There is no way that students with
poor or compromised grades would end up becoming better during their university education, or
thereafter in life. Further, no amount of education or certificates can improve their chances of being
productive in the future. It is like feeding a Boran cow with daily bran and expecting it to increase the
milk yield.
Meanwhile, the principles of Total Quality Management (TQM) advocate a concept termed as Quality
First Deployment (QFD). It is about ensuring quality input during the initial stages of the production
process. In the school system context, it means admitting only the best students for university
education. When this condition is observed, it is highly likely that only a few of the best students will
end up becoming mediocre along the education path and thereafter. The converse is also true. When
we feed the university education system with students who have benefited from leaked examinations,
continued mediocrity in the economy and entire national spectrum is guaranteed.
Thus, based on the Kenya Certificate of Secondary education (KCSE) results for last year, it s clearly
evident that innumerable students with compromised grades have been

The Arizona v. Fulminante Case
The center of a circle can never be located with only one line running through the shape. There must
be multiple lines, each one making it more clear where the center of the circle is. Analogously, the
murderer of a case can never be indicted with only one piece of evidence pointing at them. There must
be multiples indications, each one making it more clear who the murderer is. When Oreste Fulminante
confessed to the first degree murder of his stepdaughter, Jeneane Fulminante, the trial court used his
confession as evidence to sentence him to death. However, since his confession was coerced , the
Supreme Court decided to retry Fulminante s case without the use of the coerced confession as
evidence. Arizona v. Fulminante manifests ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The constitutional issue later appealed to the United States Supreme Court, where they discussed the
case s two separate issues, a voluntariness issue regarding a confession and a harmless error issue, as
stated by Mr. Jarrett during the trial at the United States Supreme Court ( Arizona v. Fulminante.
Oyez.org ). In Arizona v. Fulminante, the Supreme Court voted 5 to 4 to uphold the Arizona Supreme
Court s decision: Fulminante would receive a new trial and the confession would not be allowed; this
would be for future law reference. The Supreme Court, profoundly, ruled that a coerced confession
could not account as evidence against the person being tried ( Arizona v. Fulminante . Lawschool).
Arizona v. Fulminante was one of the few cases in law history with justices shifting from the majority
to the minority and vice versa. However, an advantageous vote of 5 to 4 at the Supreme Court settled
the majority and minority of the case. Highly qualified Chief Justice Rehnquist wrote for the majority,
The admission of an involuntary confession...is similar in both degree and kind to the erroneous
admission of other types of evidence ( Arizona v. Fulminante . Lawschool). If there were an adequate
supply of evidence supporting the conviction of Fulminante, it would have incontrovertibly apparent
that he did murder his stepdaughter. Fulminante s method for murdering Jeneane involved excessive
physical behavior. If he were

  • 2. Lucifer Monologue I can show you where the brimstone sun has no remorse Where the shattered souls fall with the ashen rain Where the robes of reapers bear symbols of well being Yet they burn our homes And take our children, And bury us All. Oh how I recall the drum of the gun They tried to flee, but died, each One. The deafening screams, Like wails of a banshee They haunt me so For I was there, Amongst the damned I was a fly on grimy prison walls Circling decomposing mothers, fathers and children alike Retching and gagging As an entire nation was fumigated Clinging onto life Like autumn leaves on hickory trees But like a leaf The human spirit crumbles Under the iron fist. My eyes transfixed on that pit of hell

  • 5. The Effects And Effects Of The Industrial Revolution... the Victorian years, some of the main characteristics we think of the industrial revolution and the effects during the Victorian period. In this assignment I m going to explain the impact that the industrial revolution had on people in There are three main characteristics of the industrial revolution which most people would think of first which are urbanization, suburb slums and agricultural revolution. Urbanization is when people move from small towns and the countryside to live in cities for more job opportunities. It developed to many people living in overcrowded houses, which lead to social classes being organized into geographical zones. So, the working classes and under classes lived in the inner city and the middle and upper classes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, the seed drill which is a machine that was able to plant seeds deeper and in regular rows, and using the method of a crop rotation which is when crops were rotated on three fields instead of two this kept soil fertile, so more crops could grow. There were many effects during the industrial revolution some were economic, and some were social. One of the economic effects was the leisure industry. Using new technology and transportation many people were able to travel more using the national railway networks, people were able to travel for days out to the seaside for a cheap fare and so many business people started to run hotels for mainly the middle class to go for holidays. There were many places people could go for leisure like the Vauxhall pleasure gardens it was a place for all to go to escape reality it had a small entrance fee, but it was a place for all social classes to mix and socialise. With all these new places and businesses there was more opportunities for regular and full time employment. Victorian leisure became a popular culture in Britain and its modernization under the boost of the industrial revolution. As industrialism and urban growth began to grind down traditional patterns of rural life. Music halls became very popular by the 1800 s and succeeded as a prototype modern entertainment industry . • 6. Imaginary Revolution In a time of fear, rebellion and possible revolution, drastic actions must be taken to ensure the stability and safety of a country. Therefore the authorities were justified in their actions, as drastic as they may have been. Order and stability is the most important element in a country. Without a set of guidelines and rules, the foundations begins to crack, and it no longer is a sovereign country, but just a wasteland of rioters and people doing whatever they feel is necessary. There is not always a guarantee that a country will come with a positive outcome when revolutionary actions are taken, like Russia was. There is possibility for both the collapse of government, the fall of economy, as well as a high risk of danger. To prevent this, the government had to take action, not to kill a man and injure innocent civilians, but to prove a point. A point that outbreak in a violent manner, and the stalling of the economy is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The profiteering and change of resource output drastically affected the economy of Canada after the war. Inflation was at an all time high, and business men were forced to fire their workers in factories where war goods were being produced, as they no longer served a purpose. There is very little the government can do to prevent capitalism, as you have a large majority of the general public who support it, as well as entire parties who follow its ways. To prevent capitalism, work rights have to be put in place, as well as taxes on those who make the greatest outcome. This of course happened later on, which stabilized the country s economy. The government must put restrictions on the abilities the factory owners have to prevent unjustified firing and treatment, and payment in order to thin the wage gap and increase the quality of life in ... • 7. Italian Film and Neorealism Italian Neorealism, a movement that focused on the arts began in 19th century post war Italy and became the repository of partisan hopes for social justice in the post war italian state. (Marcus, xiv) Even before the war, Italy had been under the dictatorship of Benito Mussolini and his corrupt form of government, Fascism, which caused oppression throughout the country. Neorealistic films allowed filmmakers to use common styles and techniques to finally reveal the world filled with anguish and misery that Mussolini had created. These films allowed the rebirth of Italy with the new ideals of freedom and social order. Some directors choose to add melodramatic elements to their neorealistic film which goes against Neorealism s goal to project the Italy in its real form. However, although Rome Open City by Roberto Rossellini and Bitter Rice by DeSantis have classic hollywood narrative characteristics, the portrayal of women and children represent neorealist principles that help us further understand the struggles and conflicts of women and children during post war Italy. The concept of Italian Neorealism includes location shooting, natural lighting, lengthy takes, the superior use of medium and long shots, the use of non professional actors which would include the individuals natural dialect, and the avoidance of any major editing to provide the viewer with a more real quality. (Marcus 22) On the other hand, a classic hollywood narrative, also known as hollywood realism, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Premarital Sex and Religion Essay Premarital Sex and Religion The Catholic Church teaches that premarital sex is wrong, yet it is still widely practiced around the world. The reason marriage was created was to join two people of the opposite sex together in a holy sacrament that would make the couple one. God s reason for marriage is quoted in the bible when he said, For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. The Sacrament of marriage is one of the most sacred Sacraments in the Catholic Religion. By performing premarital sex, the couple is breaking a covenant with God and is performing a sin. Marriage is the joining of a couple in the eyes of God and in the eyes of the State. When ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Premarital sex goes against God s law so our relationship with God is destroyed. Penance can heal our relationship with God, but the emotional ties that go along with premarital sex can hurt a person for life. Many couples that have premarital sex often do not stay together in marriage. Many people have strong emotional hardships that they go through after having premarital sex. Premarital sex doesn t just lead to sin; it leads to a separation of God and your family and friends. Sex is the sacred sigh of the covenant with God, when a couple has sex they are sealing the covenant with God. Breaking this sign of the covenant is one of the most harmful sins that we as a people can expose ourselves to. In order for us to enter into heaven God says But among you there must not even be a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity...because these are improper for God s holy people.1 Breaking the sign of the covenant with God is breaking God s law and going against everything God wants for us. God doesn t ask much from us considering all that he has given us, he asks us only to follow his laws, in Jesus said, If you love me, you will obey what I command.1 Premarital sex goes against God s command and ruins our relationship with him. Since the time of Christ, Christians have thought premarital sex to be a sin. Ancient Christians use to believe that marriage was a second rate choice but if one lacked self control, he had to take ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Wage Gap Is A Conflict Within The Work Force The occupational wage gap has always been and still continues to be a conflict within the work force. The gender wage gap is defined as the average income of a male compared to the average income of a female. There have been a few laws that were put into effect due to women s efforts to create fairness in the workplace. The first law, called the Equal Pay Act of 1963 signed into law by President John F. Kennedy, requires men and women in the same workplace be given equal pay for equal work (U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission). The Paycheck Fairness Act is a recent extension of the Equal Pay Act, it gives workers added protection to take action in the wage discrimination (National Women s Law Center). When comparing full time and year round workers, 23.5% is the gap between the annual male earnings compared to women and that has not changed much since 2001 (Burns, 1). In the profession I have chosen, there is quite a difference in dominant gender between dental hygienists and dentists. Dental hygiene is a very female dominated field of work, although few male dental hygienists exist. Due to the gender roles our society has molded, hygiene is usually compared to nursing because it revolves around care giving service and many believe that is not a task men are usually willing to do. Contrary to belief, men can be just as, if not more, nurturing than women. On the other hand, women are perfectly capable of becoming dentists as well. The culture we were raised in ... • 10. The Importance Of Racial Inequality Social inequality is a recurring problem throughout, not only the country, but the world. There are all kinds of inequalities throughout the world, and without any person or thing creating awarenesses this will induce more pandemonium. With that being said, in order to terminate racial inequality, people that are capable of bringing awareness to it need to start producing familiarity locally because it will suddenly erupt onto a more global impact. When analyzing how starting to bring awareness to social inequities and raise awareness at a local level can turn global and change the world, one who explores the specifics of racial discrimination can aware others about the dangers and results of this certain inequality. Politics, professional athletes protesting, and media discrimination are ways people have been making local awareness a global reality. In the end, with more and more awareness, more and more people will help end inequalities throughout the world. To begin, awareness of global issues within politics happen all of the time; therefore, bringing awareness to racial inequality within politics will spread globally and change the world. Racial discrimination occurring inside of the American government is between Donald Trump and the Mexican culture. The most emphasized facts Trump stated throughout his campaign and carried through his presidency is to build a wall on the border of the United States and Mexico, keeping all illegal immigrants out of the country. ... For our subject area, we have selected Oneida Herkimer, Jefferson, Oswego, and Onondaga County Solid Waste Facilities located in Upstate New York, and we will be exploring the differences in how asbestos is disposed of in each of these counties. We chose these counties because our insider has had direct contact with the solid waste management bosses of these counties and can easily obtain asbestos information. We believe this is best because it limits under reporting of asbestos amounts in fear of public exposure. Furthermore, he has a case study we hope to analysis on the differences in the removal of asbestos from Jefferson and Oswego. It seems that in this way the meaning can be expressed accurately, while fuzzy words must be avoided. But a lot of facts have proved that the uses of fuzzy words is very common in our daily communication. There are a lot of scholars and linguists try to find out the definition of fuzziness. In communications, we have to admit that the reasons for fuzzy language are complicated. 1.3.1 Objective Reasons In objective world , different things, phenomena and features compose the continuum, it is hard to have a clear borderlines. Since the nature has fuzzy phenomena, language can also be fuzzy. For example, color and time in nature are continua, people have to divide them into several stages, in the small hours , morning , noon , afternoon , dusk , evening , night and so on, there is a transition area between two stages, which leads to the uncertainty of borderline. These words that can express this category is also fuzzy. This world is full of mysteries, which makes thoughts complicated and language fuzzy. 1.3.2 Subjective Reasons People s cognition is based on the partition of things. Nationality s partition of things is related with the features, cognition and the demand of communication. Most people were drawn to Washington s leadership and overall humbleness, he was a typical southern gentleman who was propper and polished. (3) List the objectives of the pharmacokinetic study. What can we learn from studying drugs in the selected population? The objective of this pharmacokinetic study was to evaluate the pharmacokinetics of prucalopride in individuals with renal impairment. By studying drugs in patients with renal impairment, a greater understanding of the effect of decreased drug renal clearance on drug doses can be made. This is particularly important in the current aging population, whereby decreased renal function is a natural consequent of old age, as is the increased prevalence of constipation associated with drug treatments and lifestyle changes. Considering 60% of prucalopride is excreted unchanged in urine, renal excretion is one of the most important routes of elimination for prucalopride. This further validates the importance of this study in the selected population. Although prucalopride is not currently approved for use in men, this pharmacokinetic study involved both men and women. This enables results of the study to be applicable for potential future use in men. (4) Briefly describe the study design including information about the dosage and the route of administration. The authors of the three texts all share a similar attitude towards the consequences of work, which is that it can be detrimental to one s physical and mental wellbeing. Author of text One The Secretary Chant, Marge Piercy describes the stressful life of a secretary and how the accumulation of stressful events leads to the secretary feeling mechanical and dehumanised. Piercy implies that, with overwork, people can begin to lose a sense of who they are. The use of the verb, hang, and the noun, chains, acts as a possible allusion to other historical events of oppression such as slavery. Such vocabulary choices emphasise the way in which the secretary feels trapped and objectified in her own work environment. The secretary feels trapped because of the way that she has been objectified, which suggests that she is only valued for her ability to work like other office equipment, evident in line 1 where she states, my hips are a desk. The mechanical way that the secretary is employed establishes how she no longer feels as though she is a human. Instead, she is simply part of the office and the repetitive onomatopoeic, buzz, and, clicks, that define workplace environments. This is supported by line 21, where the persona states, file me under W because I wonce was a woman. When humans go on holiday; an event that epitomises quite the opposite of work, they are still plagued by, the fear that catching up on a fortnight s email will be epically disgusting labour. Whilst the prospect of reading one s emails is not the crux of the article, it acts as a humours anecdote that reminds readers of the dangers of letting the digital world control them. This story uses the psychological aspect of the need for power to show how one is willing to do whatever it takes to rise ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Federal Reserve Autonomy Samantha Minkowitz EID: smm4958 November 5, 2015 The Essential Role of the Federal Reserve The Federal Reserve was established as the Central bank of the United States in late 1913. Commonly referred to as the Fed, it is responsible for managing currency, money supply, and interest rates (Lecture, 10/6). While the bank is given much autonomy over its actions, it is not independent from the US government in that the legislature is responsible for allowing the Federal Reserve to act freely, and elected officials appoint central bankers. These are two primary mechanisms for keeping the Fed in check, insuring that it is acting in the nation s best interest (O, 286). Countries with central banks that are independent from their governments tend ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With the onset of the war, the stability of the relationship between Britain, France, and Germany which the Gold Standard was dependent on crippled (lecture, 10/13). During the interwar period, 1914 1945, the lack of coordination between economies led to a liquidity shortage while the nations held a floating exchange rate. The interwar period saw a breakdown in international monetary coordination proving that a floating economy was doomed for failure (FLB 264). Outside of the lack of international coordination, the Gold Standard had other downfalls leading to its demise. For example, national governments had no authority to stimulate their country s economies in times of need. Moreover, the fixed economy limits foreign trade, hurting the country s industries (lecture, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 34. Quality Education Critical For Advancement Of Informal... Quality Education Critical for Advancement of Informal Leadership Most people perceive leadership only in terms of positions of power, where they can exert their influence in either achieving their personalized desires or making things done their way. However, there are other forms of leadership, which invaluably lead to not only personal, but also organizational and national progress. Consider expertise as a guide to venturing into leadership. One is able to influence change anywhere only through acquiring superior skills, which could be applied in a vocation or profession. Another excellent example is moral authority. People who are honest, trustworthy and thus believable tend to positively create their own sphere of influence, not only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The massive unemployment then must have been an indication of a bigger problem, as we have now come to learn. The results for the Kenya certificate of Secondary Education for 2016 (KSCE) seem to have revealed the genesis of the unemployment and unemployabilty challenges. There is no way that students with poor or compromised grades would end up becoming better during their university education, or thereafter in life. Further, no amount of education or certificates can improve their chances of being productive in the future. It is like feeding a Boran cow with daily bran and expecting it to increase the milk yield. Meanwhile, the principles of Total Quality Management (TQM) advocate a concept termed as Quality First Deployment (QFD). It is about ensuring quality input during the initial stages of the production process. In the school system context, it means admitting only the best students for university education. When this condition is observed, it is highly likely that only a few of the best students will end up becoming mediocre along the education path and thereafter. The converse is also true. When we feed the university education system with students who have benefited from leaked examinations, continued mediocrity in the economy and entire national spectrum is guaranteed. Thus, based on the Kenya Certificate of Secondary education (KCSE) results for last year, it s clearly evident that innumerable students with compromised grades have been ... • 35. The Arizona v. Fulminante Case The center of a circle can never be located with only one line running through the shape. There must be multiple lines, each one making it more clear where the center of the circle is. Analogously, the murderer of a case can never be indicted with only one piece of evidence pointing at them. There must be multiples indications, each one making it more clear who the murderer is. When Oreste Fulminante confessed to the first degree murder of his stepdaughter, Jeneane Fulminante, the trial court used his confession as evidence to sentence him to death. However, since his confession was coerced , the Supreme Court decided to retry Fulminante s case without the use of the coerced confession as evidence. Arizona v. Fulminante manifests ... The constitutional issue later appealed to the United States Supreme Court, where they discussed the case s two separate issues, a voluntariness issue regarding a confession and a harmless error issue, as stated by Mr. Jarrett during the trial at the United States Supreme Court ( Arizona v. Fulminante. Oyez.org ). In Arizona v. Fulminante, the Supreme Court voted 5 to 4 to uphold the Arizona Supreme Court s decision: Fulminante would receive a new trial and the confession would not be allowed; this would be for future law reference. The Supreme Court, profoundly, ruled that a coerced confession could not account as evidence against the person being tried ( Arizona v. Fulminante . Lawschool). Arizona v. Fulminante was one of the few cases in law history with justices shifting from the majority to the minority and vice versa. However, an advantageous vote of 5 to 4 at the Supreme Court settled the majority and minority of the case. Highly qualified Chief Justice Rehnquist wrote for the majority, The admission of an involuntary confession...is similar in both degree and kind to the erroneous admission of other types of evidence ( Arizona v. Fulminante . Lawschool). If there were an adequate supply of evidence supporting the conviction of Fulminante, it would have incontrovertibly apparent that he did murder his stepdaughter. • 37. The Hatchet Character Analysis If I could change the life of a story character to make it more like Zane s, I would change Brian s from The Hatchet. I would change his life by putting him in Zane s situation (even though it is not positive). In The Hatchet, Brian is going on a trip to see his father (who was divorced with his mother) in the North Canadian woods. He was going in a two seater plane. While in the air, the pilot had a fatal heart attack. The plane crashed into a lake, with Brian still in it. Brian was forced to fend for himself in the harsh woods for a couple of months with nothing but a hatchet (hence the title of the book). When a rescue force finally saved him, he had already suffered a tornado, getting rammed by a moose, and getting stuck in the leg ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
