In my first six sessions, it seemed to me the mindset of the counselor in the session is one of the
tantamount elements in dictating the outcome of the client s experience. The first session I
experienced brought on nervousness and uncertainty which led to insecurity. However, the more time I
spent listening to my client the more comfortable I became with the role of counselor. Such feelings of
comfort brought with it the ability to be more self aware and client focused in the session. When I was
uncomfortable I asked confusing questions, focused too much on how I looked, and lost the ability to
attend to my client. I believe I came into these sessions strong in my nonverbal skills and encouragers.
Nevertheless, I struggled with focused counseling, reflection of emotions, and setting goals.
Intentionality seems to be significant in the growth process; therefore, one of my first actions in
response to these reflections will be to create a plan to address my opportunities for growth. The
discomfort I experienced in my first couple of sessions stemmed from several different issues.

Visual motifs are defined as irregular placed objects, objects in the foreground, vertical/horizontal
lines, water and claustrophobic devices. A visual motif used often in this film is the shadows of the
curtains creating horizontal lines on the actors/actresses. When the chief goes into a house to

His freshman year in high school Tillman tried out for baseball, however after making the JV team he

I Enjoy The Forest
I enjoy the forest. I liked walking through the forest and taking in the sunlight, the oxygen, the sight of

Absurdity In The Stranger By Albert Camus
In the book The Stranger, by Albert Camus, the use of absurdity is at a great extent. Throughout the
book, Camus gives plenty of absurd scenarios that are carried out by the characters. This essay will
point out many of the parts from the book which are great examples of this topic. In the beginning of
the book, the main character and narrator, Meursault, is notified that his mother has passed away. She
lived in an old people s home because she was sick and Meursault could not afford to take care of her.
The absurd part about this event, is the fact that Meursault did not even shed a tear at his own mother s
funeral. Another ridiculous part is that he did not even know her age! He was asked by one of the
undertakers, Was she old? And Meursault replied, Fairly, then after stating, because I didn t know the
exact number, (p.16). It is completely absurd to not know your own mother s age. Meursault also didn
t want to look at his mother in the casket. Instead, he drank coffee and smoked during the funeral. That
is purely absurd to do at one s own mother s funeral. Another example of absurdity in the book, The
Stranger, would be Meursault s feelings towards his girlfriend, Marie. They have a very intimate
relationship and Marie even tells Meursault that she loves him. However, when Marie asked if he
loved her back, he replied that he did not. As strong and intimate their relationship is, it is almost
absurd for Meursault to say that he doesn t love her. He even fantasizes

Ethos Pathos Logos Disadvantages
Ethos and pathos are rhetorical techniques Knopf uses to successfully deliver his argument. Knopf
effectively uses ethos to prove to the reader the credibility of his piece. One way Knopf goes about
doing this is he uses several creditable sources to back up his points. These sources include, Unites
States Department of Agriculture, Working Group s Farm Subsidies Database, and the New York
Times. By using a variety of different sources, Knopf is able to enhance his paper. Pathos is used when
Knopf mentions the extra seventy calories associated with whole milk and the disadvantages that
come from those extra calories. Knopf implores these extra calories are linked to heart disease and

calories might seem like a large number to people who are trying to loose weight. By distinguishing

known to the reader which can be an advantage because it could potentially cause the reader to think
about the dairy products they use and realize what they are made
