Political Realism in Morgenthau s Six Points
Deviations from a coherent system of irrationality: Political Realism in Morgenthau s Six Points Hans
Morgenthau set out to present a theory of international politics (1948, revised 1985, p. 3) which would
be tested by its empiricism and ruthless pragmatism (Snyder, 2004, p. 3). This essay identifies
Morgenthau s definition of scope, purpose and concepts underlying a theoretical structure initially set
out in six points in Politics Among Nations, identifies the structure holding these components together
into a coherent realist theory of international politics (Morgenthau, 1985 p. 3) and discusses some of
the controversy Morgenthau s proposals have engendered. Morgenthau s empirical pragmatism
ultimately reduces to prudence, which produces moral political decisions, ethics of which are different
for the state than for individuals. Ever the empiricist, Morgenthau derived this from history rather than
inventing such a theory wholesale. The inherent location of this drive to interest through power sets
off what is now called classical realism from structural realism where institutional forces drive the will
to power rather than innate human tendencies as in Morgenthau et al. (Mearsheimer, 2006, p. 71).
Taliaferro (2006) sets classical realism off from neoclassical and modern neorealism in that
Morgenthau s original perspective focused more from the point of view of the state acting on its
perceived interests, while the offspring paradigms approach the balance of

Change In Mauro Senesi s Short Story The Giraffe
The moral of Mauro Senesi s short story, The Giraffe is that change is not widely accepted, even if it
will bring good. Many people assume change is bad, because it takes away familiarity and because
change is uncertain. In this short story, the group of boys who lead the Giraffe around town, act as
those who are willing to accept and take the risk of allowing change, whereas the rest of the town
reject change by not giving the Giraffe a chance to prove its worth. I believe Mauro Sensi intentionally
created a close relationship between the boys and the Giraffe because the purpose of the Giraffe, was
to act as a role model for the boys. By giving the Giraffe human characteristics, Senesi gives the boys
an example of what their future as adult

Stonewall Riot Historical Analysis
Research Question: My research question involves the history of the LGBTQ community s
relationship with law enforcement, particularly around the time when the community had little to no
support or protection under the jurisdiction of the United States. I am expanding my knowledge on the
Stonewall Riot s coverage within the media to discover if the framing of the protesters as militant was
used to rally support behind a police force with a heteronormative agenda, in order to point out the
biases that would have been overlooked in the original coverage of this event. Object Domain: The
object domain of this historical analysis would stem from American in the late 1960 s, in particular the
week of June 28th, 1969. The analysis would be centered ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This could be done using the primary photographs and interviews preserved from these nights of
rioting, as well as being supplemented by the commentary found within secondary reports of the
activities. Second, the actual riots would be addressed through interviews from both the LGBTQ
perspective and the view of the police force, bystanders, bar workers, as well as the individual(s)
responsible for allowing the raid. To address the second, more media involved, aspect of my research
question, I would analyze primary sources such as recordings, photographs, captions from
newspapers, headlines, and news broadcasted onto nationally available channels. Additional
Information: I would need to supply general definitions of the LGBTQ community, as well as show
that there was a significant population of these individuals living around the Stonewall Inn and
benefitting from its progressive modes of operation. Once that community has been established, I
would then take the time to explain the past tensions that members of the LGBTQ community have
faced due to unnecessary violence at the hands of law enforcement individuals, in particular how those
altercations would often turn

Pros And Cons Of Agriculture Subsidies
Agriculture subsidies are payments by the government to agriculture producers for the purpose of
stabilizing food prices, ensuring that food is in plentiful production, guaranteeing farmers basic
income, and generally strengthening the agriculture segment of our economy ( Legal Dictionary. ) No
policy is going to be perfect, and the majority of opinions lean more towards completely doing away
with this said policy. However by getting rid of the agriculture subsidy policy we in turn lose a
substantial way in feeding ourselves and not relying on other countries, being able to feed those who
cannot afford to feed their selves, and run the risk of having another major dust bowl. Before 1930 the
federal government had no role in regulating American farmers. It wasn t until Hoover s presidency
that we saw the beginning of agriculture subsidies. Hoover s program was the farm board, which
included that when certain crops fell below a certain price the government would step in, buy the crop,
pay for it to be stored, and hopefully resell it later at a decent price ( Brent.fm. ) Although hoover had
great intentions by doing this there were some major complications. Famers rushed into whatever crop
that was being protected because it was being supported and provided a secure income. After a few
years of the buying surpluses the government just gave up and began giving them away or sold them
to the world market at huge losses. Roosevelt also intervened in the farm business, he support

How Does Alison Bechdel Use The Labyrinth In Fun Home
In Fun Home, the author, Alison Bechdel uses Greek myths to allude to her relationship with her
father, Bruce, and the overarching theme of discovering and coping with their sexuality for both
Alison and Bruce. The myth of Daedalus infamous labyrinth was built to imprison the horrible
Minotaur, and the story of his son Icarus s death due to his father s desire to escape his prison.
Throughout the entire graphic novel, Bechdel intertwines references to these myths to reinforce the
turmoil within herself and her father, relating each of them to the mythical characters. The roles are
not set; there are times when Alison and Bruce represent different characters within the myth,
sometimes even playing two roles simultaneously. Alison uses the ... Show more content on

Or just disappointed by the design failure? (12). Alison assumes that Bruce cares more about how she
dresses, and how his house looks than about her. This leads into the use of the next myth, the myth of
the labyrinth, as it suggests that Bruce plays the role of Daedalus more than Alison. The most
prominent example of this is when Bechdel relates her house and how it s cared for to Daedalus
greatest feat of architecture. Early on Bruce is referenced as the Daedalus of décor (6), and performs
like Daedalus, with dazzling displays of artfulness (9). When Alison was a child, she felt herself to be
someone trapped in the labyrinth, slowly inching their way towards death, and impossible to escape
(12). As the story moves forward, Alison begins to realize that she isn t the one stuck in the labyrinth,
but it is Bruce himself. He built his mansion in a similar manner to the labyrinth; it demands fear,
intimidation to its attention to detail, and quite literally the ability to act as a labyrinth (20). In this
metaphor as Bruce as Daedalus, that means Alison plays the Minotaur, as by making Alison act and
dress a certain way, and always demanding the best care for his house, Bruce traps Alison within his

Impact Of The World Trade Organization ( Wto ) On The...
Few environmentalists have positive things to say on the impact of the World Trade Organization
(WTO) on the environment. WTO legal obligations are frequently cited as the most significant
impediment to a range of environmental initiatives, including notably meaningful international
coordination to combat climate change, particularly through carbon tax initiatives, and imposition of
electronic waste disposal export bans. In this vein, adverse findings of WTO dispute panels on
environmental conservation measures tend to attract the ire of international civil society. The tensions
between liberal trade and environmental protection can be traced back to the days of the General
Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) of 1947, which pre dated the WTO. Under the GATT 1947,
trade and environment disputes tended to be resolved through diplomatic channels. The WTO
Agreements were intended to provide a more predictable and legalistic means by which to resolve
such disputes, in exchange for deeper commitments on domestic regulation, a domain historically
deemed off limits to international disciplines. Two of these agreements in particular, the Agreement on
Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT Agreement) and the Agreement on Sanitary and Phytosanitary
Measures (SPS Agreement), introduced binding disciplines with serious implications for domestic
environmental decision making, a subset of domestic regulation. The expectation was that the
depolitization of WTO disputes would afford more

Essay On Pw Botha
According to Hermann Giliomee, President PW Botha s speech on 15 August 1985 to the National
Party (NP) of Natal was the turning point at which white rule in South Africa failed to turn. Botha was
expected to use the speech, broadcast to a huge international audience, to turn around the South
African crisis that had worsened after the outbreak of uprisings in the townships in September 1984.
Spurning the expectations of bold reforms, Botha projected himself as the uncompromising leader of a
white minority determined to fight to the end for its survival.
The speech triggered a massive outflow of capital and intensified sanctions against South Africa. A
line in Botha s speech, Today we have crossed the Rubicon , promptly became the object of scorn and
ridicule. Today it is still a major question why Botha refused to give a speech that the world would
have considered as a true crossing of the Rubicon (A Journal of Historical and Human Sciences for ...

De Klerk calls this episode: probably the greatest communication disaster in South African history
(1998:103). This was typical for the leadership of PW Botha. His stubbornness and pride took over
and left reason behind. The years that followed the failed Rubicon speech became the most violent so
far (Sisk 1995:65). This did not help to increase the reform eagerness of the securocrat PW Botha. He
linked reform and security tightly together, the one required the other. Botha s political career got an
abrupt ending as he suffered from a stroke in the beginning of 1989. Even though he clenched the
presidential chair, he finally had to give in to the pressure from his fellow National Party politicians
and hand over the baton to FW De Klerk. A leadership change that produced a breakthrough in the
democratization of South Africa that had a political stalemate

Analysis Of The Poem The Tigers Aunt Jennifer s Tigers
In reference to the subordinate position of women in American society, Malala Yousafzai once
interestingly stated We cannot all succeed when half of us are held back. This idea of women being
held back and unable to exercise their individual identities in society is explored in Adrienne Rich s
Aunt Jennifer s Tigers. Specifically, the woman poet examines the marginalization of women in
society through the clear juxtaposition of Aunt Jennifer s desire to be powerful like the fearless tigers,
and the reality of her life as the subject of subjugation by her husband. In reading about the unfair
oppression of Aunt Jennifer by a man, I became extremely emotional because I have a younger sister
and involuntarily envisioned my own role in contributing to an American patriarchal society that
devalues women and strips them of influence because of my own status as a male. Through the first
stanza of the poem, the tigers Aunt Jennifer hopes to embody are quickly revealed and characterized
by their fearless and powerful qualities. Their unique attributes are revealed when the poet writes:
Aunt Jennifer s tigers prance across a screen... They do not fear the men beneath the tree; / They pace
in sleek chivalric certainty. Just as art is a manifestation of the human mind and spirit, the tigers Aunt
Jennifer creates through art are representative of the qualities she hopes to have in her own life. They
are powerful figures who do not fear the men beneath the tree and instead pace in

Goals Traits
There are many things that I would like to achieve before I reach retirement. The five goals that are
the most important to me are:
1. I would like to buy a house. I currently am renting which I feel is a waste of money.
2. I would like to complete my Bachelor s Degree shortly after I complete my Associate s Degree.
3. I would like to have had a job that I loved doing.
4. I would like to have visited Hawaii.
5. I would like to have paid off all of my debts and be debt free.
Three traits that should be helpful in reaching these goals are being determined, hard working, and
positive. Having these traits will be a good way to make these goals successful.
Three traits that could hinder my ability to reach my goals are ... Show more content on

My family has always been there to support me and motivate me to be a better person. Faith is
important to me because it helps me to believe that I can do anything I put my mind to and that when
something bad happens to me it will get better. Honesty is important to me because I do not think it is
right to lie and be misleading. People do not like to be lied to and do not like to be associated with
dishonest people. Ambition is an important value to me because it is something that I was raised to
have. I am known as an over achiever and I always try to do my best at everything I do. I try hard to
be the best that I can possibly be. Thankfulness is important to me because so many people take things
and people for granted. Sometimes I may think that times are hard, but the reality is that it could be so
much worse and a lot of people have life a lot harder than I do. Courtesy is a value I have because it is
important to be nice to people. I think that being polite to people can turn their bad day into a good
day. Accuracy is also important to me because I like to do things the right way. I would rather work
hard to do my very best rather than take a short cut to not give my all. Financial Independence is
important because I do not want to have to depend on anyone else to pay for my things. Another
important value to me is affection, whether it is with words or physically. Showing people affection

Adam Lanza Case
As a child Adam lanza had little contact with his father and was not properly nurtured by his mother
and the school he attended. As a result, his mental issues were allowed to get out of control and he
ended up committing a horrendous crime. Everyone remembers the events that occurred at Sandy
Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012. Before Adam Lanza decided to go to Sandy Hook
with a gun, he attended there as a child. In 1998, Lanza began first grade and received speech and
language services along with occupational therapy. When Lanza arrived in second grade he was
removed from occupational therapy and in fourth grade was removed from all special education. This

Lanza wrote to friends she clearly addressed that her husband wasn t spending enough time with their
father. The only time Mr. Lanza wanted to be a father to Adam and Ryan Lanza was when it was fun
and the actual parenting wasn t needed. Mr. Lanza gradually became an aloof father, with him being a
fairweather father, Adam wasn t allowed the type of nurturing a boy needs from a father. Mr. Lanza
never imagined the kind of nurturing his son Adam would need as he was developing and growing.
The influential lack of nurturing was present consistently in the early years of Adam Lanza s life.
Even though most of it occurred when he was a child, the lack of nurturement in Adam s life was
there, slightly or considerably, while he was developing and growing. Nurturement wasn t only
lacking from his father and his school, his mother also couldn t imagine how much nurturing it would
take to nurture Adam. As an adolescent, Adam had mental problems which were diagnosed by doctors,
but these problems were never nurtured. HIs mother was a key component to never having his
problems nurtured. At 13 years old Adam was taken to the Emergency Room by his mother for a crisis
evaluation . The only reason to bring Adam to the Emergency Room was to get a medical note saying
he could stay out of school.

world, due to his race. Little acts of kindness will barely help his tremendous amount of pain he will

Shattered Glass Character Analysis
As I finish watching the movie, shattered glass, I saw that Stephan glass is a unique person when it
comes to writing. The way that Stephan took the The New Republic and fabricated all those stories
tells you something about his unique personality. Stephan has a way to get the attention of people
through his stories and how he fabricated them to seem like these events had occurred. He thrives for
the attention and is a person in need of gaining trust from these people to be accepted in that certain
environment. Stephan is a person who assumes the identity of the writer he is and starts to make these
certain stories come realistic.
Stephan is a superior writer and is very talented when it comes in the use of imagery, but fails in
hiding specific details in the story. Being a good writer must come with priorities in writing and the
big mistake he did was leave clues behind that lead him to be caught. The idea of him fabricating

The Waco Incident Essay
The Waco Incident My name is Jim, just Jim it s easier this way, and I was one of the nine survivors in
the Waco compound standoff. Before I go into what I think went wrong to our religious sanctuary, let
me tell you how I met David and a little about our great deciple. Back in the early 90 s I had been
drumming in a nowhere rock band when I met and befriended David Koresh. I needed some new
drum sticks, and on the way to a gig stopped in at a local music shop. Seeing the sticks in my hand the

One irony of the Waco disaster, is that the right wing extremists and racists looked to Mount Carmel
as a beacon; if they realized that so many of us were Black, Asian, and Latino, and that we despised
their hateful politics and anger, they would probably feel bitterly betrayed. It was as if the community
was an isolated bubble of a perfect world, where all races, colors, and creeds, lived and worshiped
God together in perfect harmony, and I was glad to be a part of it. Now that is how I met my best
friend, and the man who turned my life around and directed me toward God. Many a times he told me
stories of his life before, his talks with God, and before becoming a deciphile of Jesus Christ. David
was born in 1955 in a small town on the outskirts of Houston, Texas, to a single mother. Never
knowing his father and his mother not wanting the responsibility he was mainly raised by his
grandparents. He said his childhood was lonely, greatly contributed from the fact that he dropped out
of high school at a very early age. Most of his days were of studying music and the Bible by himself.
At the age of 20, he started going to different churches speaking his mind, which was slightly different
than what these churches were used to, and was eventually asked to leave. After this he roamed, taking
spot jobs for cash to get him to Hollywood so that he could become a rock star, but this also failed. He

Application And Specification Of A Computer Network
On December 6, 1967, the Department of Defense awarded a contract with the purpose of the design
and specification of a computer network . Four months later, the Advanced Research Projects Agency
(ARPANET) was created. By October 15, 1969, computers at the University of California Los
Angeles and Stanford were connected and communicating (Internet History from ARAPNET to
Broadband, 2007) . Thus was the birth of the internet. Now, the internet is an indispensable tool that
provides us with an active connection to everyone and nearly everything. However, we ve evolved the
internet and moved forward to the internet of things (IoT). The IoT is connecting man to machine,
machine to machine, and machine to man all through smart devices, ... Show more content on

Also of note are the new wearable devices. Today, instead of pulling out our wallet to pay for
groceries, we can simply scan our Apple Watch in front of an Apple Pay terminal and have the funds
immediately deducted from our account. When arriving at the airport, your connected device can
sense your current location and immediately let your bank know you are preparing for a trip. As you
drive, your connected vehicle can download real time traffic and make suggested route changes before
you get stuck in traffic. More importantly, many modern vehicles are equipped with sensors that can
detect a collision and immediately dispatch help. The connected world has far exceeded our
expectations. One area of concern that revolves around the IoT is cyber security. Throughout the 2016
presidential primaries, cyber security has become an increasingly hot topic. During the January 17th,
2016 Democratic Primary Debate, cyber security was discussed no less than six times (Leatherby,
2016). As the IoT continues to expand, hackers have expanded their attacks as well. In July of 2015,
hackers were able to remotely take control of the systems onboard a Jeep Cherokee and completely
disable the vehicle (Kerner, 2015). Unfortunately, this is not an isolated event. Both the FBI and

Analysis Of Tidal Wetlands
In the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service s 130 year assessment of Status and Trends of Wetlands in the
Long Island Sound Area, the results indicated that there was a 48% loss of Tidal Wetlands from the
1880s to 2000s in New York. Even after protective legislation was passed in the 1970s, wetland
decline increased by 19% decrease in New York from 1970 to present day. (Basso, 6)
This decline in wetlands should be of concern to ____ as wetlands provide a variety of ecosystem
services to the general populace. They provide provisioning services by the providing habitats to
different marine organisms such as shellfish, finfish, and waterfowl, some of which provide humans

However, too much nitrogen is leading to the wetland s demise. While the main concern for the loss of
wetlands up until the 1970s was draining and filling, and while the laws created then focused on
reducing wetland destruction through urbanization, wetlands are still being deteriorated. Today, the
main concern is wetland loss created by increased amounts of open water on the marsh surface. The
literature suggests that on average, healthy New England marshes have 9% permanent open water on
their surface. However, an open water assessment indicates an average of 47% permanent open water
on the marshes studied (Kirwan 2013).
In Long Island, the marshes are wetter and vegetated areas are shifting from high marsh to low marsh
or to mud flat, which are far less productive and give fewer services than the salt marshes and other
high marshes that are supposed to be there. (Kirwan 2013

While there are plenty of human created stressors that are creating this conversion, such as invasive
species, sediment deprivation, hydraulic modification, pollution and climate change (Smith 2009,

Living in Tooth Ville
Tooth Ville is a very enjoyable place; I would consider living in Tooth Ville if I was you. Tooth Ville is
an island that is a shape of a tooth, hence the name Tooth Ville . Tooth Ville has two site factors; Tooth
Ville has 3 natural harbours where food is shipped in from other countries or cities, also many people
come to Tooth Ville by water. Also since there is a lot of food being sent in from the other countries
and cities Tooth Ville has some natural resources, also Tooth Ville is surrounded by water we have a
lot of fresh water. All we have to do is filter it and we have our fresh water. As for Tooth Ville s
situation factor, Tooth Ville has markets that are usually full since they are really close to residential
areas. And we have a lot of roads and highways that connect everything, Tooth Ville even has 2
bridges that connect to the mini islands around Tooth Ville.
You could say that Tooth Ville is kind of like a suburban area; Tooth Ville has a lot of natural
resources so we are not like rural areas. We also don t have that much apartment building like they do
in urban areas, Tooth Ville isn t really busy that much maybe only twice in a week. Tooth Ville has
different kinds of houses; we have detached houses near the north west of Tooth Ville, there are

Naturalism In Cythera
On looking closely at her sculpture it is seen that cupid s arrows are tied to her along with a garland of
flowers. These are clear connotations of love. Cupid can be seen sitting below the sculpture with his
quiver down almost as though nothing has to be done to bring love in that area. He is seen tugging the
skirt of the lady sitting near him, as though he is urging her to fall in love with the man on her right,
who seems to be trying too. On following the coupled figures down towards the boat, is a conspiracy
whether the boat bought the figures to Cythera or is taking them to the island of Cythera. On closely
observing the body language of the figures, it is noticed how they get closer and closer towards a state
of intimacy. As observed towards the boat a couple is seen where the women is holding the man s arm
of her own volition, she doesn t have to be coaxed anymore. The progression of the figures almost
looks like a form of dance. The second figured couple hold hands similar to the dance form in the 18th
century.

The French crowd desired more dramatic and realistic art which led to the birth of this art form. The
favourite themes the realism artists liked to paint was scenes of urban life , scenes of rural life, street

movement moved away from what was ideal to what was simply ordinary . Artists preferred painting

Elevated NLR, is a strong predictor of stable coronary artery disease (CAD), its development,
progression and mortality.52,53,54,55 The predictive superiority of NLR may be due to the fact that
NLR is a ratio integrating the deleterious effects of Ns, which are responsible for innate immunity and
lymphopenia, which is a marker of poor general condition.56 Coronary artery anatomy: Left Main
Coronary Artery The left main coronary artery (LMCA) arises from the left aortic coronary sinus
ranging in diameter from 3 to 6 mm and up to 10 to 15 mm length. It courses behind the right
ventricular outflow tract and usually bifurcates into the left anterior descending artery (LAD) and left
circumflex (LCx) branches. Rarely, the LMCA artery is absent, and the LAD and LCx arteries arises
from separate ostia. In some patients, the LMCA trifurcates into the LAD, LCx and the ramus
intermedius which arises between the LAD and the LCx arteries. Left Anterior Descending Artery The
left anterior descending (LAD) artery passes along the surface of interventricular groove anteriorly
toward the cardiac apex. It gives several septal perforators and diagonal branches. Most patients have
one to three diagonal branches. In most patients the LAD rounds along the left ventricular apex and
ends at the diaphragmatic surface of the left ventricle.

Like most Orange Bloods, I fondly remember my first encounter with the Texas Cowboys
organization. It was an August Sunday at Darrell K Royal and it was time for Longhorn football to get
underway. I spent my morning like most at the 40 acres, eating barbeque, hopping from tailgate to
tailgate while feeling slightly anxious for what was to come against the tenth ranked Fighting Irish. I
found my seat, enjoyed the pregame atmosphere and tried to prepare myself for what was to come. It
was now time for kickoff, Mitchell Becker prepared to kick the ball off. He started into his kick and

Franciscans Vs Jesuits
Christianity is widely known as being one of the largest and fastest spreading religions in the world. A
unique aspect of Christianity is its ability to accommodate many different ways of thinking and living.
In just Catholicism alone, there are multiple different religious institutes, orders, and congregations,
one of which being the Society of Jesus, or the Jesuits. In the 16th century, evangelization the
spreading of the word of Jesus along with the expansion of Europe to Africa, Asia, and the Americas,
are reason for the vast amount of missionaries and practicing Christians around the globe. The

The many aspects of the outside of this church alone reveal that it is a Jesuit Church. The use of
baroque architecture is a major factor in distinguishing buildings of this time from one another. The
Gesu is the first major building featuring Baroque, which is significant to the Counter Reformation,
and it is also the template for Jesuit churches around the world. Baroque architecture followed
renaissance art from the Middle Ages. The many aspects of this style make it feel as if it is going
against the norm. Architects aspire to make baroque buildings look as if they are sculpted and
contoured, rather than mathematically planned. Using techniques to make walls look curved together
as one single entity is a way baroque artists integrated movement into architecture. Unique ground
plans of oval or ellipse shape are a distinguished aspect of baroque, in contrast to the circles, squares,
and Greek crosses used in the renaissance. Architecturally, the Gesu is a marvel. It is the second
largest in size, following St. Peters Basilica, and also has one of the largest domes in Rome. The
baroque aspect of the dome is its inability to be seen from the front of the church, it is only viewable
from the sides. In addition, the pillars on the exterior are in even pairs of two lining the front wall,
however they are carved out of the stone, not standing independently. Despite this, the pillars still

The Church Is Holy Through Complete Devotion And Love For God
The church is holy through complete devotion and love for God. Because the church is holy, the
church has the duty to love and take care of all people. Holiness is a dedication to God. This
dedication is formed individually by the people of God, who are the church. However, not every
person of God is one hundred percent holy. Only Jesus Christ had complete dedication to God, but the
church strives for this dedication. Throughout time, there has been role models of holiness within the
church known as saints. Throughout the church s history, there has been many saints that lived their
life in complete devotion to God. For example, Joan of Arc was known as a Fool for God. As a
teenager, she trusted the Lord and followed her call to lead a French army to victory. She went against
all odds but continued to put her faith in the Lord. Even when she was captured and burned at the
stake, the saint never lost her faith. James Martin writes in his book, My Life with the Saints, Joan was
devoted to Jesus Christ, to prayer, to the sacraments, to the church, and to its saints. She believed in
God even when God asked her to accomplish the seemingly impossible, (My life with the Saints, 25).
Pedro Arrupe, another saint studied within the book stated the following about devotion to God, He or
she is a person who hast the conviction that Gods knows, can do, and will do what is best for mankind,
(My Life with the Saints, 91). Throughout life, the people of God face many setbacks, but

Webster, Twain connects his story to real life events and people. In this short story twain points out the
flaws of humanity and how we are slaves to our money. The characters in the jumping frog portray
realism by representing real life counter parts. The bull pup named Andrew Jackson is in fact very like

he became a young Tennessee lawyer. Jackson became a rising star in the political world and was

Unlike those aforementioned, pop rock artists had an entirely different vision when they heard do it

developed as a way for artists to avoid clashing with the mainstream music industry. Pop rock bands

Personal Ethics Philosophy Paper
Ethics Philosophy A personal ethics philosophy helps a person to maintain and employ good morals
and values that are important in a one s life. Understanding the importance of ethics is critical in order
to consciously work to develop and effectively utilize ethics. Therefore, accepting the importance of
one s ethical philosophy will result in ethical decision making, therefore developing the ability to put
ethical theory into practice create ethical conditions albeit, personal and professional situations.
Therefore, ethical processes lead to better personal ethics with the emphasis in creating better
organizations and societies. This paper attempts to explore my ethics philosophy.

Metaethics. According to DeLapp (n.d.) Metaethics is a branch of analytic philosophy that explores
the status, foundations, and scope of moral values, properties, and words. DeLapp (n.d.) continues by

itself, or vice versa (DeLapp, n.d.). Metaethics is considered a second level or second order because of
its philosophically abstract way of thinking about morality. For this, DeLapp (n.d.) writes, The reason,
metaethics is referred to as second order moral theorizing is to distinguish it from the first order level
of normative theory (DeLapp, n.d.).

Vaults In Roman Architecture
With the invention of concrete, the Romans perfected making the arches and were able to create
domes and vaults. The arch was and is still used as design for openings, entryways, doors and bridges.
The vault is simply and arch with an increased in depth as seen in construction of their ceilings. The
construction of vaults was used in the construction of imperial palaces and public buildings to create
vast interior spaces. The Union Station in Washington D.C. is an example modern architecture with
vaulted ceilings. The Roman basilica was a building in which judicial, commercial and governmental
activities took place. It became the primary model for architectural design of modern Christian
churches. These buildings usually has center nave with porticos along an aisle at each ... Show more

The center of the dome in Pantheon has an opening of 27 feet, which is enough for sunlight to enter as
it lights the earth and it also allows rain and air to enter to provide cooling inside the building. The

The Setia Corporate Headquarters in Shah Alam, Malaysia is an example of modern building with

Harappan Stone Bead Making And Pottery
Harappan stone bead making and pottery are important aspects in identifying different archaeological
time periods. Craft specialization is an indicator of societies becoming more complex. Stone bead
making and pottery are both different types of craft specialization which indicate that the early of
cities and villages of the Harappan period have become more aware of society and economy. In
Kenoyer, Vidale, and Bhan s Contemporary stone bead making in Khambat, India, the stone
beadmaking industry is studied and described as important for supporting the state, (Kenoyer, Vidale,

that was closely monitored. Although there are many references to multiple craft specializations at
different sites, this article focuses on craft specialization that appears to be identified with highly
ranked societies. The fact that some scholars associate craft specialization with these highly ranked
societies is incorrect because in all societies technology was important and required individuals to be
able to produce items efficiently. The ability to create specific and efficient technology requires
specialization which is a sign of economic and social adaptions, (Rice 1984). Craft specialization was
an adaptive process because the ability to gather raw materials and produce special objects required a
high level of competence and ability to work together. These individuals had to learn how to

Fair M. A. et al, 2012 used the HBM and EPPM to understand how the interaction of perceived risk

Persuasive Essay On Keeping The Driving Age
Learning to drive is one of the most exciting times in a young person s life. For most, this begins
around the age of fifteen. Also at this time, many teens are beginning high school and becoming
accustomed to more responsibilities. The driving age has been sixteen years old for many years. Many
learn how to safely drive during this time before going off to college where they no longer have
parental supervision. Raising the driving age would only make college car crashes more likely than if
they learned when they were younger. The driving age should remain the same because it allows teens
to fulfill responsibilities, learn safe driving more easily, and reduce the risk of car crashes among
college students.
First, the current driving age allows busy teens to keep up with their full schedules and fulfill
responsibilities. Many parents do not have the time to keep up with their own schedules as well as
their children s. For this reason, having a license allows teens to be more independent, allowing them
to learn responsibility for themselves. As teens learn to drive, they learn valuable life skills. They learn
safety, awareness, and maturity. These are all very important life skills that one should have before
they reach adulthood. If the driving age was raised, many would not ... Show more content on

why Little Bo Peep wanted to become the next queen on Red Riding Hood Kingdom. I was going to

she otherwise might not have been able to without the help of his idea. Rook and Alex did have a

I Really Enjoyed This Podcast By Rogier Van Der Heide
I really enjoyed this podcast by Rogier van der Heide. I am forever wandering around my house
turning lights off and it s not just a money/planet saving action. Darkness is wonderful and important,
it is the reason I put dimmers on almost every light switch on the plans for our new home.
Without darkness, the concept of light doesn t exist or at best without the contrast of darkness, light is
not recognisable. The beauty of light could not be seen. Furthermore, the beauty and peace that comes
from darkness wouldn t be so if it weren t for the contrast of light. I have also just watched the TED
talk about introversion, identifying that the yings and the yangs are both required to have a complete
experience.
Heide speaks holistically of light quality. Light quality is not just about the bland, measurable
approach we take ensuring we meet the imposed standards required for lighting particular spaces. I am
left wondering why it is that we choose to power up a building with artificial light rather than use the
light from the sun where possible. There are so many ways in which we can do this, why are we so
reluctant? Is it easier to just thoughtlessly do what was once probably considered amazing and
innovative? The more I think about it the more I would consider grid like lighting design senseless,
unhealthy and unimaginative! Also, the sunlight is free, if that s not good enough reason to utilise it
then I don t know what is!
Furthermore, are we actually doing our eye

Pulp Fiction Film Analysis
Pulp Fiction is a black comedy crime film written and directed Quentin Tarantino (1994). The film s
narrative follows the unpredictable actions and reflections of two hit men who philosophically
meditate out loud about the Bible, loyalty, and McDonald s hamburgers (Corrigan, White, 368). The
movie goes against the three act structure of classic films as the story is told out of chronological order
making the film so memorable to its viewers. Tarantino s film begins in a coffee shop and also ends in
the same shop. In the beginning of the film, it appears to be a soft, moist, shapeless matter of mass but
as the movie progresses the audience can take away much more from the mundane acts they view on
screen. The film s odd narrative ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pulp Fiction employs various devices such as dialogue and visual motifs that provide narrative clarity
and unity along the lines associated with classical Hollywood cinema (Bailey, 52). The dialogue in the
coffee shop indicates that the film has more to do with the mundane aspects of a life of crime than it
does with the glamour, danger, and intrigue typical of thrillers or film noir (Howley). The film s
dialogue can range from absolutely pointless to completely captivating moments. These conversation
establishes character and character relations early in the film in an entertaining fashion. This is
depicted when Vincent and Jules are having a normal conversation about Amsterdam and foot
massages directly before they are about to commit multiple murders. This organic conversation
establishes the characters as reasonably ordinary people to the audience till they arrive at the
apartment and appear stone cold. Tarantino s Pulp Fiction clarity illustrates the style of mundane
versus the extreme. A motif that remains constant in the film is the bathroom. Various of the film s
major events occur while someone is using the restroom. For a majority the film this phenomenon
occurs to Vincent. When he uses the restroom in the diner, Jules has a heart to heart with the robbers,
Pumpkin and Honey Bunny. Next, Vincent is using the bathroom at Mia s and she comes across his

And it should differentiate itself from others. It is indeed expensive and cannot be mass distributed

David B. Truman Lobby Groups Essay
Lobby Groups
In this comparison between David B. Truman and V.O. Key, Jr. s views on lobby groups they have
different interpretations on role and interaction of these groups in government. In a democratic system
there is bound to be resentment and desire for change because it is impossible to satisfy everybody.
Truman and Key describe how those individuals try to be recognized while forming groups for
strength in numbers . In the comparison of interest and pressure groups it is apparent that although
they created resentment in the inner layers of government, they were necessary to the development
and progress of the political system.

Truman states that the National Government and the State Legislatures take notice when the interest
groups consolidate and tend to accept compromises over common goals. When they are verified of an
increasing amount of support for a particular policy or deceit against it, they usually take action. In
this manner, the interest groups are beneficial to the government because their opinions were created
by an individual and therefore they give the government a greater ability to facilitate the lifestyle of
their citizens. The interest groups can be very misleading in their size because of their pressure to
convert and convince impressionable people. Truman believes that the formation of interest groups
and political parties was inevitable because we offered elections as a means of representation and also
in a large, complex, diverse society there will always be people who are longing for change.
From this section of Truman s work it shows that lobby groups were helpful in modifying the National
Government to perform at a more responsive level. The Government could not have survived based
solely on the impact of interest groups. They survived and thrived for power in a symbiotic
relationship benefiting both groups.
Even if the political parties are added to the list, the result could properly be designated as a view
which seems hardly compatible with the relative stability of

Exploring the Therapeutic Effects of Yogic Techniques for...
The topic I chose to focus on for my research Masters Project is Exploring the therapeutic effects of
yogic techniques for stress management . I choose this topic because I am particularly interested in
stress and anxiety related mental and physical disorders with the use of yogic techniques. I also choose
this topic as little is known about the beneficial effects of a yoga practice and self care as an
alternative to medication interventions. Within the area of Social Care, the use of yogic techniques can
be extremely beneficial through creative approach for both service users and social care workers. The
need for alternative approaches to self care in the field of social care can be achieved through the use
of yogic techniques to help with stress management. The health benefits of yoga can help to reduce
stress and anxiety, enhancing mood and wellbeing and reduce the risk factors for chronic disorders.
Yogic techniques relocate focus and attention to the body and breath and can help to calm anxiety
while releasing physical tension. Overall, the use of yogic techniques can be used over a wide
population of people, varying in all ages, gender and physical limitations. The need for alternative
medicines in which individuals can learn self care rather than the use of medications is needed. Stress
and anxiety falls under the category of non communicable conditions. They are not infectious but are
long in duration and usually slowly progressive. They are estimated to account

Oedipus the King, a Tragic Hero Essay
Oedipus, a tragic hero
Sophocles s Oedipus Rex is probably the most famous tragedy ever written. Sophocles s tragedy
represents a monumental theatrical and interpretative challenge. Oedipus Rex is the story of a King of
Thebes upon whom a hereditary curse is placed and who therefore has to suffer the tragic
consequences of fate (tragic flaws or hamartia). In the play, Oedipus is the tragic hero. Even though
fate victimizes Oedipus, he is a tragic figure since his own heroic qualities, his loyalty to Thebes, and
his fidelity to the truth ruin him.
In The Poetics, the greatest statement of classical dramatic theory, Aristotle cites Oedipus as the best
example of Greek tragedy. According to Aristotle, Oedipus is a tragic hero because ... Show more

As outlined in the proposal, Oedipus is a tragic hero even though he didn t die because of the facts
described by Aristotle satisfies the character of Oedipus. In this story the character s egotism and self
centrism has caused him a different fate, drawing attention of the audiences on the issues that the
human behaviors directly affect the human emotions as Oedipus blinded his eyes by himself after
finding out the truth. Here the hunger for the truth overshadowed by his grandiosity as explained by
Miller has made Oedipus to find out what he hadn t expected. He was just willing to help somebody
but as it was overcame from his confidence and proud, the story is able to manipulate the audience s
feeling and make feel sorry for the character even though it is already known to the audiences that
Oedipus was wrong, as seen from his confident and proud actions. While in Thelma and Louise, the
feelings generated to the audience are different. Unlike Oedipus, in Thelma and Louise the human
feelings were not played ironically but instead were diverted from characters actions from one wrong
action to series of others. Oedipus ends in misery and sorrow of his past but Thelma and Louise ends
up surrounded by the results of their wrong activities, which they tried to overcome by running away
from it rather than facing it like Oedipus. At the end too, both tragedy shows the different perspective
of life. One is with full of pride and

Poverty and Children Education In this time and age the United States contains a high number of
students in the public schools who are under the poverty line. Poverty is defined as the state of being
really poor financially. Poverty in the United States has become a complicated problem that causes a
variety of diverse challenges for children and their families. Although the economy of the United
States is showing great signs of improvement, poverty remains a serious issue. While examining
poverty and children education in several articles all authors seem to agree with the fact that poverty
does have an affect in the academic development of a child. However, there are several disagreements
in other areas. The authors that this essay will be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When a child s early experiences are chaotic and one or both parents are absent these causes the brain
to become stressed and make the child feel insecure. The NCCP states, Many children whose mothers
suffer from depression lack healthy brain development (NCCP). This can lead the child to have
trouble connecting with classmates and lack of social skills. The article also mentions, Daily
interaction plays an important role in a child s emotional and mental development (NCCP). Positive
interactions not only with classmates but also parents or adults can also help a child become more
secure of themselves and allow them to ambition greater things than that of their parents. Overall,
relationships between teachers and students are important. Poverty is a factor to the lack of social

Nintendo s Disruptive Strategy
Nintendo Disruptive Strategy Video game industry is synonymous with names like Sony, Microsoft,
and Nintendo. A number of changes have been witnessed in the video game industry with respect to
competition and technology. Atari, a U.S. based company, and Namco from Japan are some of the
undisputed initial players in the video game industry. They literally brought the video games to
teenagers who accessed them in the shopping malls and video games arcades. Home consoles however
made it possible for video game lovers to play video games within the confines of their homes. The
introduction of personal computers in the 80s nearly revolutionized the video game industry. However,
the introduction of personal computers had no significant impact on the video game industry as the
proprietors still achieved steady growth. Video game consoles client base was kind of confined to
teenagers. Sony managed to penetrate the video gaming market save for their insightful targeting and
positioning, image conscious branding, and super graphic technologies. These made PS very popular
in the mid 90s. In fact, the entry of Sony into the video gaming market spelt some doom to video
game consoles because they captured new players. The industry subsequently grew substantially.
Video gaming became the ultimate entertainment especially among the young adults who had
disposable incomes (Farhoomand, 2009). When SONY launched PS2 in 2000, Microsoft felt that it
could also eat part of the cake and

John Calvin s Teachings Essay
It seems that from all of John Calvin s teachings, it s quite possible that this debate over his doctrine of
predestination has been argued more than any other in history. In this essay I will explore Calvin s
view of predestination, giving special attention to the justice of predestination. Secondly, I will explain
the purpose of election as understood by Calvin. Third, I will discuss the purpose of reprobation.
So what is the basis of Calvin s view of predestination? It would be most simply stated that
predestination is the doctrine that before God created humankind God chose some for eternal life and
sentenced others to eternal damnation. At the core of the argument is Calvin s view of predestination
as completely unconditional in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Calvin asks, How can it be consistently said that things derived from election are the cause of
election?
It is important to point out that Calvin appears to be certain of the capability of God s election. The
Israelites, God s elect people, could fall out of election because they don t have a spirit of regeneration
that would give perseverance in the covenant, until the end. Although individual elected persons will
persevere. Those God has chosen for eternal life will certainly receive it, and those God has rejected
will face destruction. What s the reasoning behind God s election of some and rejection of others?
This explanation is simple, but may require some defending, which I intend to do. God elects and
rejects so that he will be glorified. The challenge lies in the destruction of some, not in the grace that is
demonstrated. Either way, Calvin affirms that God is just to the reprobate, that through them God s
glory may be revealed.
Throughout history many people have attributed Calvin of conceptualizing an arbitrary and unjust
God. There are some that would suggest that God elects those whom, in his foreknowledge, he knows
will choose to follow God through Jesus Christ. In doing so they try to clarify and reinforce the justice

  • 2. Political Realism in Morgenthau s Six Points Deviations from a coherent system of irrationality: Political Realism in Morgenthau s Six Points Hans Morgenthau set out to present a theory of international politics (1948, revised 1985, p. 3) which would be tested by its empiricism and ruthless pragmatism (Snyder, 2004, p. 3). This essay identifies Morgenthau s definition of scope, purpose and concepts underlying a theoretical structure initially set out in six points in Politics Among Nations, identifies the structure holding these components together into a coherent realist theory of international politics (Morgenthau, 1985 p. 3) and discusses some of the controversy Morgenthau s proposals have engendered. Morgenthau s empirical pragmatism ultimately reduces to prudence, which produces moral political decisions, ethics of which are different for the state than for individuals. Ever the empiricist, Morgenthau derived this from history rather than inventing such a theory wholesale. The inherent location of this drive to interest through power sets off what is now called classical realism from structural realism where institutional forces drive the will to power rather than innate human tendencies as in Morgenthau et al. (Mearsheimer, 2006, p. 71). Taliaferro (2006) sets classical realism off from neoclassical and modern neorealism in that Morgenthau s original perspective focused more from the point of view of the state acting on its perceived interests, while the offspring paradigms approach the balance of ... • 3. Change In Mauro Senesi s Short Story The Giraffe The moral of Mauro Senesi s short story, The Giraffe is that change is not widely accepted, even if it will bring good. Many people assume change is bad, because it takes away familiarity and because change is uncertain. In this short story, the group of boys who lead the Giraffe around town, act as those who are willing to accept and take the risk of allowing change, whereas the rest of the town reject change by not giving the Giraffe a chance to prove its worth. I believe Mauro Sensi intentionally created a close relationship between the boys and the Giraffe because the purpose of the Giraffe, was to act as a role model for the boys. By giving the Giraffe human characteristics, Senesi gives the boys an example of what their future as adult ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Stonewall Riot Historical Analysis Research Question: My research question involves the history of the LGBTQ community s relationship with law enforcement, particularly around the time when the community had little to no support or protection under the jurisdiction of the United States. I am expanding my knowledge on the Stonewall Riot s coverage within the media to discover if the framing of the protesters as militant was used to rally support behind a police force with a heteronormative agenda, in order to point out the biases that would have been overlooked in the original coverage of this event. Object Domain: The object domain of this historical analysis would stem from American in the late 1960 s, in particular the week of June 28th, 1969. The analysis would be centered ... This could be done using the primary photographs and interviews preserved from these nights of rioting, as well as being supplemented by the commentary found within secondary reports of the activities. Second, the actual riots would be addressed through interviews from both the LGBTQ perspective and the view of the police force, bystanders, bar workers, as well as the individual(s) responsible for allowing the raid. To address the second, more media involved, aspect of my research question, I would analyze primary sources such as recordings, photographs, captions from newspapers, headlines, and news broadcasted onto nationally available channels. Additional Information: I would need to supply general definitions of the LGBTQ community, as well as show that there was a significant population of these individuals living around the Stonewall Inn and benefitting from its progressive modes of operation. Once that community has been established, I would then take the time to explain the past tensions that members of the LGBTQ community have faced due to unnecessary violence at the hands of law enforcement individuals, in particular how those altercations would often turn ... • 5. Pros And Cons Of Agriculture Subsidies Agriculture subsidies are payments by the government to agriculture producers for the purpose of stabilizing food prices, ensuring that food is in plentiful production, guaranteeing farmers basic income, and generally strengthening the agriculture segment of our economy ( Legal Dictionary. ) No policy is going to be perfect, and the majority of opinions lean more towards completely doing away with this said policy. However by getting rid of the agriculture subsidy policy we in turn lose a substantial way in feeding ourselves and not relying on other countries, being able to feed those who cannot afford to feed their selves, and run the risk of having another major dust bowl. Before 1930 the federal government had no role in regulating American farmers. It wasn t until Hoover s presidency that we saw the beginning of agriculture subsidies. Hoover s program was the farm board, which included that when certain crops fell below a certain price the government would step in, buy the crop, pay for it to be stored, and hopefully resell it later at a decent price ( Brent.fm. ) Although hoover had great intentions by doing this there were some major complications. Famers rushed into whatever crop that was being protected because it was being supported and provided a secure income. After a few years of the buying surpluses the government just gave up and began giving them away or sold them to the world market at huge losses. Roosevelt also intervened in the farm business, he support ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. How Does Alison Bechdel Use The Labyrinth In Fun Home In Fun Home, the author, Alison Bechdel uses Greek myths to allude to her relationship with her father, Bruce, and the overarching theme of discovering and coping with their sexuality for both Alison and Bruce. The myth of Daedalus infamous labyrinth was built to imprison the horrible Minotaur, and the story of his son Icarus s death due to his father s desire to escape his prison. Throughout the entire graphic novel, Bechdel intertwines references to these myths to reinforce the turmoil within herself and her father, relating each of them to the mythical characters. The roles are not set; there are times when Alison and Bruce represent different characters within the myth, sometimes even playing two roles simultaneously. Alison uses the ... This leads into the use of the next myth, the myth of the labyrinth, as it suggests that Bruce plays the role of Daedalus more than Alison. The most prominent example of this is when Bechdel relates her house and how it s cared for to Daedalus greatest feat of architecture. Early on Bruce is referenced as the Daedalus of décor (6), and performs like Daedalus, with dazzling displays of artfulness (9). When Alison was a child, she felt herself to be someone trapped in the labyrinth, slowly inching their way towards death, and impossible to escape (12). As the story moves forward, Alison begins to realize that she isn t the one stuck in the labyrinth, but it is Bruce himself. He built his mansion in a similar manner to the labyrinth; it demands fear, intimidation to its attention to detail, and quite literally the ability to act as a labyrinth (20). In this metaphor as Bruce as Daedalus, that means Alison plays the Minotaur, as by making Alison act and dress a certain way, and always demanding the best care for his house, Bruce traps Alison within his greatest ... • 7. Impact Of The World Trade Organization ( Wto ) On The... Few environmentalists have positive things to say on the impact of the World Trade Organization (WTO) on the environment. WTO legal obligations are frequently cited as the most significant impediment to a range of environmental initiatives, including notably meaningful international coordination to combat climate change, particularly through carbon tax initiatives, and imposition of electronic waste disposal export bans. In this vein, adverse findings of WTO dispute panels on environmental conservation measures tend to attract the ire of international civil society. The tensions between liberal trade and environmental protection can be traced back to the days of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) of 1947, which pre dated the WTO. Under the GATT 1947, trade and environment disputes tended to be resolved through diplomatic channels. The WTO Agreements were intended to provide a more predictable and legalistic means by which to resolve such disputes, in exchange for deeper commitments on domestic regulation, a domain historically deemed off limits to international disciplines. Two of these agreements in particular, the Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT Agreement) and the Agreement on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS Agreement), introduced binding disciplines with serious implications for domestic environmental decision making, a subset of domestic regulation. • 8. Essay On Pw Botha According to Hermann Giliomee, President PW Botha s speech on 15 August 1985 to the National Party (NP) of Natal was the turning point at which white rule in South Africa failed to turn. Botha was expected to use the speech, broadcast to a huge international audience, to turn around the South African crisis that had worsened after the outbreak of uprisings in the townships in September 1984. Spurning the expectations of bold reforms, Botha projected himself as the uncompromising leader of a white minority determined to fight to the end for its survival. The speech triggered a massive outflow of capital and intensified sanctions against South Africa. A line in Botha s speech, Today we have crossed the Rubicon , promptly became the object of scorn and ridicule. Today it is still a major question why Botha refused to give a speech that the world would have considered as a true crossing of the Rubicon (A Journal of Historical and Human Sciences for ... He linked reform and security tightly together, the one required the other. Botha s political career got an abrupt ending as he suffered from a stroke in the beginning of 1989. • 9. Analysis Of The Poem The Tigers Aunt Jennifer s Tigers In reference to the subordinate position of women in American society, Malala Yousafzai once interestingly stated We cannot all succeed when half of us are held back. This idea of women being held back and unable to exercise their individual identities in society is explored in Adrienne Rich s Aunt Jennifer s Tigers. Specifically, the woman poet examines the marginalization of women in society through the clear juxtaposition of Aunt Jennifer s desire to be powerful like the fearless tigers, and the reality of her life as the subject of subjugation by her husband. In reading about the unfair oppression of Aunt Jennifer by a man, I became extremely emotional because I have a younger sister and involuntarily envisioned my own role in contributing to an American patriarchal society that devalues women and strips them of influence because of my own status as a male. Through the first stanza of the poem, the tigers Aunt Jennifer hopes to embody are quickly revealed and characterized by their fearless and powerful qualities. Their unique attributes are revealed when the poet writes: Aunt Jennifer s tigers prance across a screen... They do not fear the men beneath the tree; / They pace in sleek chivalric certainty. Just as art is a manifestation of the human mind and spirit, the tigers Aunt Jennifer creates through art are representative of the qualities she hopes to have in her own life. Tooth Ville is an island that is a shape of a tooth, hence the name Tooth Ville . Tooth Ville has two site factors; Tooth Ville has 3 natural harbours where food is shipped in from other countries or cities, also many people come to Tooth Ville by water. Also since there is a lot of food being sent in from the other countries and cities Tooth Ville has some natural resources, also Tooth Ville is surrounded by water we have a lot of fresh water. All we have to do is filter it and we have our fresh water. As for Tooth Ville s situation factor, Tooth Ville has markets that are usually full since they are really close to residential areas. And we have a lot of roads and highways that connect everything, Tooth Ville even has 2 bridges that connect to the mini islands around Tooth Ville. You could say that Tooth Ville is kind of like a suburban area; Tooth Ville has a lot of natural resources so we are not like rural areas. We also don t have that much apartment building like they do in urban areas, Tooth Ville isn t really busy that much maybe only twice in a week. Tooth Ville has different kinds of houses; we have detached houses near the north west of Tooth Ville, there are apartment buildings near the east of Tooth Ville, and some townhouses near the north of Tooth Ville surrounding a park. Cupid can be seen sitting below the sculpture with his quiver down almost as though nothing has to be done to bring love in that area. He is seen tugging the skirt of the lady sitting near him, as though he is urging her to fall in love with the man on her right, who seems to be trying too. On following the coupled figures down towards the boat, is a conspiracy whether the boat bought the figures to Cythera or is taking them to the island of Cythera. On closely observing the body language of the figures, it is noticed how they get closer and closer towards a state of intimacy. As observed towards the boat a couple is seen where the women is holding the man s arm of her own volition, she doesn t have to be coaxed anymore. The Gesu is the first major building featuring Baroque, which is significant to the Counter Reformation, and it is also the template for Jesuit churches around the world. Baroque architecture followed renaissance art from the Middle Ages. The many aspects of this style make it feel as if it is going against the norm. Architects aspire to make baroque buildings look as if they are sculpted and contoured, rather than mathematically planned. Using techniques to make walls look curved together as one single entity is a way baroque artists integrated movement into architecture. Because the church is holy, the church has the duty to love and take care of all people. Holiness is a dedication to God. This dedication is formed individually by the people of God, who are the church. However, not every person of God is one hundred percent holy. Only Jesus Christ had complete dedication to God, but the church strives for this dedication. Throughout time, there has been role models of holiness within the church known as saints. Throughout the church s history, there has been many saints that lived their life in complete devotion to God. For example, Joan of Arc was known as a Fool for God. As a teenager, she trusted the Lord and followed her call to lead a French army to victory. She went against all odds but continued to put her faith in the Lord. Even when she was captured and burned at the stake, the saint never lost her faith. James Martin writes in his book, My Life with the Saints, Joan was devoted to Jesus Christ, to prayer, to the sacraments, to the church, and to its saints. She believed in God even when God asked her to accomplish the seemingly impossible, (My life with the Saints, 25). Pedro Arrupe, another saint studied within the book stated the following about devotion to God, He or she is a person who hast the conviction that Gods knows, can do, and will do what is best for mankind, (My Life with the Saints, 91). Also at this time, many teens are beginning high school and becoming accustomed to more responsibilities. The driving age has been sixteen years old for many years. Many learn how to safely drive during this time before going off to college where they no longer have parental supervision. Raising the driving age would only make college car crashes more likely than if they learned when they were younger. The driving age should remain the same because it allows teens to fulfill responsibilities, learn safe driving more easily, and reduce the risk of car crashes among college students. First, the current driving age allows busy teens to keep up with their full schedules and fulfill responsibilities. I am forever wandering around my house turning lights off and it s not just a money/planet saving action. Darkness is wonderful and important, it is the reason I put dimmers on almost every light switch on the plans for our new home. Without darkness, the concept of light doesn t exist or at best without the contrast of darkness, light is not recognisable. The beauty of light could not be seen. Furthermore, the beauty and peace that comes from darkness wouldn t be so if it weren t for the contrast of light. Light quality is not just about the bland, measurable approach we take ensuring we meet the imposed standards required for lighting particular spaces. I am left wondering why it is that we choose to power up a building with artificial light rather than use the light from the sun where possible. There are so many ways in which we can do this, why are we so reluctant? Is it easier to just thoughtlessly do what was once probably considered amazing and innovative? The more I think about it the more I would consider grid like lighting design senseless, unhealthy and unimaginative! When they are verified of an increasing amount of support for a particular policy or deceit against it, they usually take action. In this manner, the interest groups are beneficial to the government because their opinions were created by an individual and therefore they give the government a greater ability to facilitate the lifestyle of their citizens. The interest groups can be very misleading in their size because of their pressure to convert and convince impressionable people. Truman believes that the formation of interest groups and political parties was inevitable because we offered elections as a means of representation and also in a large, complex, diverse society there will always be people who are longing for change. From this section of Truman s work it shows that lobby groups were helpful in modifying the National Government to perform at a more responsive level. The Government could not have survived based solely on the impact of interest groups. They survived and thrived for power in a symbiotic relationship benefiting both groups. Even if the political parties are added to the list, the result could properly be designated as a view which seems hardly compatible with the relative stability of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sophocles s tragedy represents a monumental theatrical and interpretative challenge. In the play, Oedipus is the tragic hero. Even though fate victimizes Oedipus, he is a tragic figure since his own heroic qualities, his loyalty to Thebes, and his fidelity to the truth ruin him. In The Poetics, the greatest statement of classical dramatic theory, Aristotle cites Oedipus as the best example of Greek tragedy. According to Aristotle, Oedipus is a tragic hero because ... Oedipus ends in misery and sorrow of his past but Thelma and Louise ends up surrounded by the results of their wrong activities, which they tried to overcome by running away from it rather than facing it like Oedipus. Atari, a U.S. based company, and Namco from Japan are some of the undisputed initial players in the video game industry. They literally brought the video games to teenagers who accessed them in the shopping malls and video games arcades. Home consoles however made it possible for video game lovers to play video games within the confines of their homes. The introduction of personal computers in the 80s nearly revolutionized the video game industry. John Calvin s Teachings Essay It seems that from all of John Calvin s teachings, it s quite possible that this debate over his doctrine of predestination has been argued more than any other in history. At the core of the argument is Calvin s view of predestination as completely unconditional in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Calvin asks, How can it be consistently said that things derived from election are the cause of election? It is important to point out that Calvin appears to be certain of the capability of God s election. The Israelites, God s elect people, could fall out of election because they don t have a spirit of regeneration that would give perseverance in the covenant, until the end. Although individual elected persons will persevere. Those God has chosen for eternal life will certainly receive it, and those God has rejected will face destruction. What s the reasoning behind God s election of some and rejection of others? This explanation is simple, but may require some defending, which I intend to do. God elects and rejects so that he will be glorified. The challenge lies in the destruction of some, not in the grace that is demonstrated. Either way, Calvin affirms that God is just to the reprobate, that through them God s glory may be revealed. Throughout history many people have attributed Calvin of conceptualizing an arbitrary and unjust God. There are some that would suggest that God elects those whom, in his foreknowledge, he knows will choose to follow God through Jesus Christ. In doing so they try to clarify and reinforce the justice ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
