Parent Child Relationships Essay
The purpose of this paper is to observe the interactions of a parent child dyad and apply aspects of the
theories studied in class to the observation. Since my experience working with families is limited to
brief interactions with infant children and their mothers, I have chosen to base my analysis off of With
or Without You: A Memoir by Domenica Ruta (2013). This is a relevant topic because the parent child
relationship provides significant context for human development. In order to understand its influences,
we must view parenting contributions from a variety of theoretical perspectives of development,
keeping in mind the role of context and the role of biology. It has been interesting to read Domenica
Ruta s childhood story and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each stage has its own developmental task, unique to each individual experience, that must be faced
and resolved in order to achieve healthy outcomes. For Dominica, her mother would constantly ask
her to fetch things for her (i.e. soup, matches, chocolate milk, etc.), which would distract Domenica
from her school work and assignments. The family also didn t own many books other than those
Domenica brought home from the library. Even though Dominica grew up in a household that was
strewn with garbage and drug paraphernalia, where she was repeatedly told that she was unattractive,
she still developed a love for learning, reading, and was driven to succeed. This event can be
connected to Erikson s fifth stage of developing one s identity or experiencing role confusion. Even
though Dominica faced challenges, she still made an effort in her adolescent and young adult years to
discover her true self and find meaning relevant to her own personhood. While attempting to discover
her own unique identity, Dominica was also influenced by her mother s actions and behavior, which
she mimicked in addition to responding to her mother s requests. In Social Learning Theory, Albert
Bandura proposed that children acquire many skills in the absence of rewards/punishments by
watching and imitating behaviors of others. The premise of this model is based on the idea of
observational learning and modeling, through the parent child relationship.

My Greek And Chinese Zodiac Signs
You could ask me to write about my best friends and I would be able to comprise a fair essay about
them, but ask me to write an essay about myself, that s where it gets difficult for me. So to assist me in
describing my personality I will use my Greek and Chinese zodiac descriptions. I think that both of
these signs matches my personality. Even though I think that horoscopes are useful l, I m not the kind
of person that would check my daily horoscope in fear that if I don t I ll die or something. It s just
something that I enjoy reading. The Chinese zodiac had determined that snakes are, sensitive,
humorous, and soft spoken. I know these are mostly true because sometimes I get offended easily, I

Travel And Transportation Region At Asia Pacific Airlines...
According to (Ramchandi 2015), last March there was an increase percentage of demand passengers
with an average of 12 percent in the Asia Pacific region and it describes the Asia Pacific airlines
recorded the strongest increase of passengers. Most of the civil aviation members both internationally
and domestic agreed that the Asia Pacific states as fastest growing travel and transportation region in
the world. Since they are now the largest region of passengers in the world, there are chances that they
provide a framework plan for better infrastructure development in airlines particularly more on high
quality maintenance and engines for high standard safety. The question is how the Asia Pacific made it
successfully, reaching a billion dollars profit from Asia Pacific airline companies. Why people travel
and what are their relationship between an airline and in a destination? There are some purpose why
people travel but we must understand also why some passengers choose to book an expensive flight.
Not all, majority of the passengers prefer to book a flight in low cost airlines. For instance, it is
necessary to think and understand why Asian travellers love to travel and their purposes to visit in a
destination. Travel demand refer to the amount number and type of people who are seeking for an
experience and outstanding service from the airline and the destination that they re going to visit that
would purchase at a given price and quality. International Civil Aviation

HBo s The Wire
When Randy first appears in the series, one cannot help but notice his kind heart and pleasant smile.
He is good natured and cheerful, with a flair for business. He sells candy to his peers by changing his
grade specific uniform to blend in to different lunch periods, catches homing pigeons to pick up some
extra cash, and knows how to get back at bullies by using urine and water balloons. He is quick to
learn when taught in an accessible way and is eager to apply it to his everyday life. Randy also has
ambitions of running his own business. He truly enjoys school, whether he is learning in the classroom
or selling his wares, and opens himself up to teachers like Prez that take a genuine interest in his well
being. Randy adores his foster mother Miss Anna, and is always grateful for her time and care.
Whenever Miss Anna s house is shown it seems to be well taken care of, despite the less than ideal
location. Though he has no interest in getting involved with drugs, Randy, trying to keep himself out
of trouble with Miss Anna, is labeled a snitch by his peers for talking about a murder. After being
pulled out of school for reasons of safety, he is still pursued and eventually attacked by those he was
believed to have snitched on. Miss Anna is caught in the cross fire and deemed no longer able to take
care of him, thus leaving Randy to fend for himself in a group home. The last time we encounter
Randy in the series he is still in the group home. He is being questioned by police

The aim of this report is to provide the company with a feasibility report for the proposal expansion.
The proposed expansion will require the company to have access to muesli, machinery and labour in
Japan in order to produce health foods, muesli bars and other confectionary products. This report will
analyse the political, economic, socio cultural, technological and legal environments (PESTL) that
exists in Japan, which will then be recommended to Carmen Fine Foods whether to expand their
business into Japan. The proposed expansion strategy is by exporting required resources from
Australia to Brazil, because they do not have the experience in working overseas.

Investigation: How does the number of maggots in the mass affect the temperature of maggot mass
and development of maggots in the mass?
Abstract
The aim of this investigation is to find a correlation between the number of maggots in the mass and
the temperature of maggot mass. To find the correlation the different number of maggots in each mass
was placed in (the isolated by glass beakers) polystyrene cups. The internal temperature of masses was
obtained regularly every 10 minutes during 30 minutes time period under the same temperature of
surroundings. The experiment was repeated several times and all results were recorded, averages were
calculated and the graph showing the correlation was plotted. The result of the investigation is ...

How the number of maggots in mass affects the temperature of the mass and development of the
mass?
Larvae can form feeding masses on a corpse and can generate an enormous amount of heat. They
develop slower at lower temperatures and more rapidly at higher temperatures because metabolic rate
is more active at higher temperatures and slower at lower temperatures. As larvae are poikilothermic
(cold blooded) the major factor which can increase the metabolic activity of them is external
temperature.
How temperature affects enzymes?
Enzymes are very large globular proteins with three dimensional shapes which is vital for enzyme
activity as natural catalyst in chemical reactions within the living organisms (7).
The rate of enzyme catalyzed reaction increases as the temperature is raised (). An increase of
temperature by 1 2 degrees may introduce changes of 10% 20% in the results. As the temperature
increases the kinetic energy that molecules possess increases as well. This results in more random
collisions of substrate and enzymes increasing rate of the chemical reaction, more product is formed
(6). The metabolic rate of an organism increases, hence it develops faster. However metabolic activity
of the larvae cannot be responsible for high mass temperatures which affect larval development. The
heat produced by larvae is normally heat to regulate body temperature.
Increasing in temperature also increases the vibrating energy in molecules. High temperatures can
denature

Career Progression And The Career Development
The above quote by Confucius is often quoted, yet job happiness isn t as easily achieved. One of the
reasons behind job dissatisfaction is often the lack of planning. But career progression and the ability
find a job that doesn t feel like work requires meticulous research and focus.
In this guide, we ll explain career progression and the reasons why it s so important. We ll provide a
four step plan to help you develop a plan that guarantees you don t feel left behind when it comes to
achieving your career goals.
What is career progression?
The concept of career progressing is closely tied to the idea of career development. Career
development is the lifelong process of managing your circumstances in order to move forward to
achieving your personal goals. It s the management of your education, work and leisure activities in a
way that helps you achieve the kind of future you want.
As the definition of progress states, progress is a process developing gradually towards a more
advanced state . Career progression sees you working towards your ultimate professional goals, little
by little.
In essence, career progression determines and outlines the route you should follow in order to reach
the career development goals you ve set out for you. For example, your dream career goal might be to
own your own business. A career progression plan will help identify the educational and work related
steps you should take in order to get closer to this goal and ultimately, to achieve

Reflection Paper On Cheers
It was March 2017, and the tryout cheers had just been put on Moodle. I had already been practicing
my tumbling skills at Corner House for about five months, but I still wasn t confident with my skills.
We had cheer camp for the next week to go over the cheers and how the tryout process was going to
go. During the week I had gotten pretty good at the cheers but I lost my running tumbling from being
so nervous. This made me so scared for tryouts and I thought for sure I wasn t going to make the team,
especially compared to other girls who had outstanding tumbling skills. I knew that now I couldn t
rely on my tumbling to get me on the team so I focused on my jumps and cheers. It was the night
before tryouts and I couldn t sleep because of my nerves. Later that night at around 3:00 AM, I threw
up from thinking about it so much. I stayed up the rest of the night practicing my cheers as quietly as I
could without waking my sister or my parents up.
When it was finally time to go to the tryouts I was getting ready and now I was worried I was going to
be late even though I had plenty of time. While I was putting my hair up in a ponytail, I wasn t able to
get it up without hair sticking out on the sides. Once I realized I was just going to have to deal with it,
I started putting my bow in. I was rushing because I lost a lot of time with all the times of trying to get
my ponytail perfect. I was twisting my bow around for the third time to get a tight fit and the rubber

Investigating The Spatial Difference Between The East...
AIM:
The investigate the spatial difference between the east coast and west cost of New Zealand.
Comparing Muriwai Beach with Eastern Beach
HYPOTHESIS:
A west coast beach is a destructive environment compared to an eastern coast environment which is
constructive.
Introduction:
Muriwai Beach is a coastal community on the west coast of the Auckland region, in the north island of
New Zealand. Muriwai is approximately 17ilometer m west of kumeu and 42 kilometre northwest of
Auckland. Muriwai draws lots of surfers and fisherman.
Eastern beach is a suburb of Auckland New Zealand. It is located on the eastern city of the city centre.
Its most common attraction is a popular palm fringed beach, in summer, the temperature attracted
thousands of people around Auckland.
In this internal I would like to investigate whether there is a spatial difference between Eastern Beach
and Muriwa, and find out what caused the two beaches to be different. To achieve this I will use
different equipment s to help collect the data I need
Methodology:
Equipment

Persuasive Essay About The Superhero
Growing up we often find ourselves talking about realistic and fictional heroes at some point in
our lifetime. Most of us can remember being asked questions like who s your favorite superhero or if
you could be a superhero which would you choose. Those were always hard questions to me because
my interest at the time consisted of watching the latest Hannah Montana episodes. Although I never
went out of my way to watch or read about the fictional superheroes, I knew things like what kind
of powers they had and how their costume looked. I never based my opinion on their actual character
and their mission as a hero. Avoiding the names like Superman and Batman was nearly impossible.
They were on t shirts, book bags, and even took up a whole aisle in the toy section at our local grocery
store. Just recently I started watching the superhero movies like Captain America: The First
Avenger and Iron Man. Unlike the others, there was a connection I had in the beginning with the
characters because before they transformed into the superhero that is known today, we met the person
underneath the costume and became familiar with their imperfections and strengths as a normal
human
being like you and me. As the viewers, we develop different expectations superheroes should meet,
like their powers, their costume, and even their characters personality. We could change who we are to
be like those seen in the movies or simply find the superhero in us. Captain America and

Saudi Arabi An Arab Nation
Saudi Arabia Saudi Arabia is an Arab nation located on the Arabian Peninsula. Though there is
evidence that this peninsula has been inhabited for over 15,000 years, Saudi Arabia is a very young
country. Since King Abdulaziz Al Saud established the modern Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1932, its
transformation has been astonishing. In a few short decades, the Kingdom has turned itself from a
desert nation to a modern, sophisticated state and a major player on the international stage.

Saudi Arabia s geographic location made it a strategic dream during the liberation of Kuwait. In 1991,
Saudi Arabian, American and allied forces were involved both in bombing raids on Iraq and in the
land invasion that helped to liberate Kuwait. The Saudi military consists of the Royal Saudi Land
Forces, the Royal Saudi Air Force, the Royal Saudi Navy, the Royal Saudi Air Defense, the Saudi
Arabian National Guard (SANG, an independent military force), and paramilitary forces, totaling
nearly 200,000 active duty personnel (lcweb2.loc.gov). Saudi Arabia, once a country of small cities
and towns, has become increasingly urban; traditional centers such as Jiddah, Mecca, and Medina
have grown into large cities, and the capital, Riyadh, a former oasis town, has grown into a modern
metropolis. Many of the region s traditional nomads, the Bedouin, are in cities or agrarian
communities. The sedentary population of the country views those few Bedouin who maintain the
traditional desert lifestyle with deep ambivalence. They are, at the same time, the link to the country s
past and its solid foundation (Teitelbaum). Although most of Saudi Arabia is uninhabited, it still boasts
a population of more than 27.3 million people. They use modern forms of communication such as
cellular phones, satellite television, and the internet. Broadcast media is state controlled and internet
use is limited, but in 2009, there were nearly 10 million internet users in the country.

Time Value of Money Paper
Time Value of Money Paper In order to understand how to deal with money the important idea to
know is the time value of money. Time Value of Money (TVM) is the simple concept that a dollar that
someone has now is worth more than the dollar that person will receive in the future, this is because
the money that the person holds today is worth more because it can be invested and earn interest (Web
Finance, Inc., 2007). The following paper will explain how annuities affect TVM problems and
investment outcomes. The issues that impact TCM will also be discussed: Interest rates and
compounding (with two problems), present value, future value, opportunity cost, annuities and the rule
of 72. The idea of TVM allows managers or investors the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Opportunity cost is another important concept in making financial decisions. For example, if an asset
such as capital is used for one purpose, the opportunity cost is the value of the next best purpose the
asset could have been used for (Web Finance, Inc., 2007). Opportunity cost can also be referred to as
rate of return. A rate of return is the total income per period per dollar invested (Brealey, Myers
Marcus, 2003). To do this the formula i = ( FV / PV) (1/n) 1 can be used (Getobjects.com, 2004).
Opportunity cost is the benefit or cash flow forgone as a result of an action (Brealey, Myers Marcus,
2003). An annuity is a sequence of equally spaced levels of cash flows (Brealey, Myers Marcus,
2003). Some examples are car payments, loans, mortgages, or utilities. Annuities can be set monthly,
bi monthly, weekly, quarterly or annually. The payments or receipts occur at the end of each period for
an ordinary annuity while they occur at the beginning of each period for an annuity due
(Getobjects.com, 2004). There are two places that annuities fall under, present and future. The present
value of an ordinary annuity is the value of equally spaced payments in the future (Brealey, Myers
Marcus, 2003). Which can be calculated as PVoa = PMT [(1 (1 / (1 + i)n)) / i] PVoa = Present Value of
an Ordinary Annuity, PMT = Amount of each payment, i = Discount Rate per Period, and n = Number
of Periods (Getobjects.com, 2004). The present value of an annuity

Krasner notes that by facilitating accords, international legal sovereignty offers the possibility for
rulers to secure external resources that can enhance their ability to stay in power and promote the
security, economic, and ideational interest of their constituents. (Krasner, pg 17) Interdependence
sovereignty is the ability of a state to regulate the flow of information, goods, ideas and people into
and out of its country. States try to hold on to this type of sovereignty because their ability to do this is
directly related to their ability to effectively take control and organise their own polity, which in
essence is domestic sovereignty which states must hold on to by definition i.e. in order to be a state in
the first place. We shall consider reasons which prompt states to relinquish some of their sovereignty
later in our discussion. We have thus far acknowledged, via several examples, based on the politics
involved in the process of mutual recognition of states, that the issue of international legal sovereignty
or international legal validation is a de facto versus de jure consideration. Is this, however, a trend in
the legal procedures in international relations? The law, based on our previously defined definition,
must be applicable to the actors in the community in which it is operating. If, in the realm of
international relations, the law can be voluntarily and regularly flouted by

Transgender Identity
Transgenders have been a part of the LGBT community ever since continuously growing in
representation most especially mainstream culture. Popular transgender people such as Laverne Cox
and Caitlin Jenner are cultural representatives of this group. Filipino society has also experienced an
emergence of LGBT and gender non conformity. As reported by the United States Agency of
International Development (USAID), reference was made to transvestism and crossing gender in the
16th and 17th century with the babaylan (Tan 8). Even if modern Filipino society tolerates trans
personalities such as congresswoman Geraldine Roman, and Jake Zyrus, a trans male singer formerly
known as Charice, there has yet to be true justice and respect for the trans community in even the
smallest of circumstances.
A transgender as defined by Cambridge Dictionary is, someone who feels that they are not the same
gender (= sex) as the physical body they were born with, or who does not fit easily into being either a
male or a female. Given their gender identity differing from their sex assigned at birth, a lot of the
behavioral aspects in their lifestyle coordinate with the gender they identify with. A specific aspect of
this would be the restroom that these trans people use, that being the opposite gender to what sex they
were born as, or in short the gender of which they identify with. However, it is not as easy as simply
entering the comfort room, in fact the rest room to this day still holds as a

Not True Love in William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet Essay
Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet popularly considered by many to be the quintessential love story of
all time is a play that we are all familiar with in one way or another. Whether it be through the plethora
of portrayals, adaptations and performances that exist or through your own reading of the play,
chances are you have been acquainted with this tale of tragic love at some point in your life. Through
this universal familiarity an odd occurrence can be noted, one of almost canonical reverence for the
themes commonly believed to be central to the plot. The most widely believed theme of Romeo and
Juliet is that of the ideal love unable to exist under the harsh social and political strains of this world.

.
From the moment we first hear about Romeo, it is in the context of his suffering at the hands of love.
Romeo s father, Montague, perplexed by his son s behavior states that, Many a morning hath he there
been seen, / With tears augmenting the fresh morning s dew, / Adding to clouds more clouds with his
deep sighs (1.1.124 26). While this may be the first time we encounter Romeo s melancholy humour,
it certainly isn t the last. In fact, one of the primary sources of our infatuation with Romeo rests in our
sympathy for him. From the very start this poor boy is plagued by affections for girls that fate, it
seems, will not let him be with. At first, it s Rosaline, a girl who has sworn that she will still live
chaste (1.1.210), a vow that sets Romeo reeling and complaining because from love s weak childish
bow she lives unharmed (1.1.204). His depression over Rosaline is enough to draw the attention of his
father, Montague, who has observed that Romeo shuts himself up in his room all day in order to
wallow in the darkness. These are the actions of someone who is undeniably quite

The Formal Relationship And Usage Of An Organization s...
Structure defines the formal relationship and usage of people to accomplish all of an organization s

this structure is because they require large numbers of technical people with different skills to work in

Pornography Viewed by The Four Ethical Standards Essay
The word Pornography is defined as writings, photographs, movies, etc., intended to arouse sexual
excitement . With each year that passes pornography has been more and more accepted, it can be seen
in books, magazines, cable television and most of all through the internet. Many religions go against
it, but at the same time people know that there is a reason why people go into the business and
accepted it an other people just like it. In this paper I will talk about pornography and how it is viewed
by the four ethical standards (Utilitarian, Kant, Human Rights and Justice is Fairness). Utility
(Utilitarian) is measured by the amount of benefits for all people or greatest number of people. By this
pornography is accepted since it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Off course there are exemptions on which people are brought into the business against there own will.
By this standard if you choose to go into the business then by K 2 standards it is ethical. K 1 applies
the Universality principle, which asks the question Would a person in a similar circumstance do the
same thing? Most of the people who are in the pornography business know that they could be making
money in another way. And if asked, they would not like their son or daughter to follow their steps. By
this it would flunk the K 1 standard. K 3 applies the publicity test, which asks Would I be willing to
tell my grandmother? By majority nobody would tell their grandmother about it, if he or she is
working in pornography. It would flunk the publicity test. Human Rights are what more people are
concerned with. Pornography fits in where people have the freedom of speech, life and the right to
pursue happiness. While people are doing it by their own means and have the adequate age then
pornography is all right. In my opinion pornography does violate welfare rights, since pornography is
not considered a moral and ethical way of living because it is not a descent environment. Pornography
under the principle of equal liberty it is accepted since it gives liberty to choose. But the only thing is
that not everyone respects the people who work in pornography, because they don t think it is right to
make their living in that way. Under the

agencies/social services should have fully investigated the man s past, he should have gone through

Relationship Between Economic Growth And Economic Development
Introduction Economic development is a new concept that came about in the early twentieth century.
Although, theorists argue that Karl Marx has alluded to the concept earlier in 1887 . Historically, the
increasing importance of the concept can be traced back to the needs approach of the ILO , World
Bank and Amartya Sen s Capability approach (Sen, 1993). Gerald Meier defines economic
development as the process whereby the real per capita income of a country increases over a long
period of time subject to the stipulation that the number below an absolute poverty line does not
increase and that the distribution of income does not become more unequal . Wherein, there is
evidently a strong relationship between economic growth and development. This essay analysis the
concept of the two terms economic growth and economic development by examining their
characteristic approaches. In turn, understanding the relationship between them. Economic Growth
Economic growth aims at removing obstacles that could come in the way of increasing an economy s
productive capacity, like removing market imperfections that exist in an economy. Supplying the
missing components like capital, foreign exchange, technology, skills, and management, which is
needed for improving an economy s productive capacity. Consequently, expecting that the increased
capacity of the economy would somehow reach the masses. Economic Development Economic
development, on the other hand, aims at increasing the

Limited Liability
Discussion Assignment
You own and operate a small store. Currently, you are a single proprietor.
What kinds of risks and liabilities are you facing?
When a business is run as a single proprietor means that the owner is solely responsible and liable for
the actions of the company. The risk and the liability are that the personal assets such as house, car,
land, or bank savings are also part of the business. There is no legal separation of the assets between
the business and the owner of the business. For example, if the single proprietor defaults on a bank
loan or there is an accident on one of the employees, the owner is the sole responsible. The bank can
seize and liquidate the personal assets for the debts. In addition, the employee who suffered injury for
in a work related accident can sue and held the owner liable. The sole proprietor risks all the personal
assets if there is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, this risk can be addressed by incorporating the business. There are various options of
incorporation depending on the type of business and goals. The most common are the Limited
Liability Company (LLC), Limited Partnership (LP), Limited Liability Partnership (LLP), or
Nonprofit Corporation.
When the sole proprietor incorporates, it gives advantages and disadvantages. The advantage is that
the owner can sales shares to investors and raise capital. Moreover, with an incorporated business the
owner and the employees can benefit from health insurance, workers compensation, insurance against
accidents, etc. Another advantage of incorporating the business is that it guarantees the safety of the
personal assets. For example, if there is an accident or the business defaults on the bank loan, only the
business will be liable. The personal assets such as your house or car will not be

First, I believe that cather s overall view is naturalistic. There s a few romatic points of view. The story

The Density Den ( Experiment 4.3 )
The Density Den (Experiment 4.3)
Taken from Obook (aim, materials and method)
Date: Monday 15th June
Partners: Nicole and Grace
Introduction:
When people think of Archimedes they often think of the famous tale of his bath, and how he helped
discover density whilst unknowingly using the displacement method.
Density is the mass and volume of substances which is different in the 3 states of matter. The density
of the 3 matters can often be affiliated with the amount of space in between the particles. In the matter
gas particles are quite spread out so they have a low density whether as in the matter Solid particles
are tightly packed together and have a higher density.
Density is often used when comparing the heaviness of two objects.

Knights And Knighthood Research Paper
The Development of Knights and Knighthood
Knighthood started in Western Europe in the 11th century and ended in the 14th century. To become a
knight was a long process and had many requirements. A lot of different qualities were essential for a
knight and there were numerous steps to take until really becoming one. Knights were very popular in
the Middle Ages and their outfit was much more than just shining armor. They were similar to
celebrities in the modern world and their attire was very detailed and complicated. Knights were the
professional soldiers in the Middle Ages who possessed characteristics such as bravery and chivalry.
Knighthood started in the 11th century and ended in the 14th century. It was originally a professional
association. Its members were nobles, small landholders, free men and craftsmen. Anyone who, by
luck or effort, managed to acquire the training and equipment to be a knight, could eventually enter
that class. By the 11th century, the institution of knighthood was well established in Western Europe

someone who could afford weapons, armor, and a war horse. These items weren t cheap and only the

Your plans for planting flowers should begin in the middle of winter. Landscaping for the birds is
begun by trees and bushes. Some flowers attract birds of certain types. The birds are not always in
need of the blossoms themselves. They are in need of the seeds which come later. The different types
of daisies form seeds which are generous and nutritious. The seeds are then left for the birds to feed
on. When the seed heads have been dried, you will get sparrows, finches, cardinals, and towhes. This
is why you should avoid deadheading all the blossoms once blooming is over. The blossoms will

Tourism Is A Tool Of Cultural Colonisation
Tourism should be considered a tool of cultural colonisation because it paints a way of life as a
national identity to be explored; this includes Maori customs as well as the relatively laid back nature
of New Zealanders. Travel guides date back to the 1830s and continue to be among the first things
foreigners peruse regarding a place they are visiting. Travel guides also exist as a snapshot of the
social context within which they were written. In 1959, New Zealand had a Labour led government
and a population of 2,395,700 people. This government had a focus on maintaining this clean, green
image through tax increases on alcohol, cigarettes and petrol though it was not explicitly for the
purposes of tourism. This essay will explore the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Amoamo and Thompson, tourism strips Maori of the choice in how they represent their
own identity. This method of colonising Maori culture negatively impacts comfortable Maori
entertainers feel in expressing their identity and diminishes the authenticity of whatever experience

Tourism is a tool of cultural colonisation as well as being a source of income for each country.
Margaret McClure wrote that tourism as an industry didn t thrive until the 1960 s because New
Zealanders at the time were possessive over their country and the Treasury didn t think the industry
could general national profits. Travel posters in the decade preceding the fifties somewhat negate that
notion. While McClure represents mid century New Zealanders as snobbish guardians on the vista,
Hardingham writes them as welcoming tourists who were happy to share the country with foreigners.
Acknowledging the different agendas behind advertising and academia, the stark difference between
these accounts of 1950 s New Zealanders is interesting. McClure claims that the tourism industry
picked up speed in the 1960 s before becoming profitable in the 1980 s; therefore, it s possible that
Hardingham s travel guide is a product of Tourism Hotel Corporation. McClure commented that the
New Zealand way of life in the 1950 s, referring to shutting down over the weekends as well as strict

Mise En Scene Essay
Introduction of Mise en Scene
Mise en Scene are used in every aspects of filmmaking. The term refers to the overall look and feel of
a film. It is what the viewers sees, hears and experiences while watching a film. A film s Mise en
Scene subtly influences viewer s mood as they watch a film, much like decor, lighting, smells and
sounds can influence our emotional response to an actual place. In Film Art: An Introduction,

A major key element in the film comprises of settings. It is where the actions takes place and helps
viewers to understand where and when the film is set. Settings not only create mood, it has social,
psychological, emotional and cultural significance in which the film are able to portray. Settings used
in the film are very rarely just backgrounds to the characters dialogue. Viewers are often seen shots of
places, without any action taking place. They can be used to influence viewers by building certain
expectations and then the actions takes a different turn. Gibbs (2002) mention that, Mise en scene
therefore encompasses both what the audience can see and the way in which we are invited to see it .
For example, the scene where Mrs. Chan goes to get noodles where she is seen to be walking along a
dark alley down the stairs, gives viewers a certain expectation to emphasize the character s emotional
state. Viewers are also made to see Mr. Chow going down the same stairs as Mrs. Chan walks back up

daily routine of doing the same thing over and over again, going to work, getting noodles and
accepting the unfaithfulness of their spouses. It also gives viewers a sense of developing bond

heart for missions. Graham reached out to Pierce and began to desire to hear all of his mission stories.
Pierce shared his experience with Graham and became like a mentor to him. Graham was inspired,
and in 1975, Pierce and Graham went on a tour to see the world s neediest places ( About Us ). It was
on this trip that Graham s heart was exposed and called to meeting the needs of the people in these

Robert Pierce died in 1978 of leukemia. Only a year after his death, Franklin Graham took over and

Koch Snowflake Investigation Angus Dally
Koch Snowflake Investigation Angus Dally
Background:
In 1904, Helge von Koch identified a fractal that appeared to model the snowflake. The fractal was
built by starting with an equilateral triangle and removing the inner third of each side, building another
equilateral triangle where the side was removed, and then repeating the process indefinitely. The
process is pictured below, showing the original triangle at stage zero, and the resulting figures after
one, two and three iterations.
Method:
Let Nn=the number of sides, Ln=the length of a single side, Pn= the length of the perimeter and An=
the area of the snowflake, all for the nth stage. Using an initial side length of 1, create a table that
shows the exact values of N_n,〖 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Consequently, the area of each of these triangle is 1/9 of the original triangles.
Therefore the total area added is:
Area added=3×1/9
=1/3
Therefore, to find the area of snowflake n=1, these two area ratios must be multiplied by the area of
the original triangle at n=0.
A_1=√3/4 (1+1/3)
A_1=√3/3
For snowflake n=2, twelve additional triangles are added onto the initial triangle, with side lengths of
1/9. Consequently, the area of each of these triangle is 1/81 of the original triangles.
Therefore the total area added is:
Area added=12×1/81
=12/81
=4/27
Therefore, to find the area of snowflake n=2, this area ratio, as well as the previous two, must be
multiplied by the area of the original triangle at n=0.
A_2=√3/4 (1+1/3+4/27)
A_2=(10√3)/27
At n=3, following the previous pattern:
48 triangles with side length 1/81, and area 1/729 are added.
Area added=48×1/729
=16/243
Therefore, to find the area of snowflake n=3, this area ratio, as well as the previous three, must be
multiplied by the area of the original triangle at n=0.
A_3=√3/4 (1+1/3+4/27+16/243)
A_3=(94√3)/243

Critical Analysis Of Evidence Based Practice
Critical Analysis of Evidence
Pressure ulcers occur over bony prominences when skin is compressed for long periods of time,
affecting the blood supply to certain areas, leading to ischaemia development (Waugh and Grant,
2001). Compression of skin is caused by pressure, shearing and friction, but can also occur due to
pressure exerted by medical equipment (Randle, Coffey and Bradbury, 2009). NICE (2014) states that
the prevalence of pressure ulcers in different healthcare settings in December 2013 was 4.7%, taken
from data available for 186,000 patients. The cost of treating ulcers can vary depending on severity
from £43 up to £374 (NICE, 2014). Evidence based practice skills are essential in nursing as it allows
the best available evidence to be used to improve practice and patient care, while improving decision
making (Holland and Rees, 2010). I will be critiquing two research papers; qualitative and
quantitative, using a framework set out by Holland and Rees (2010), and will explore the impact on
practice. Using a framework provides a standardised method of assessing quality and reduces
subjectivity.
What influences the impact of pressure ulcers on health related quality of life? A qualitative patient
focused exploration of contributory factors (Gorecki, Nixon, Madill, Firth and Brown, 2012)
The article topic should be an area in which there is a gap between knowledge and practice, and in
qualitative research, emphasises the experience of a condition (Holland and Rees,

Speech On Owning A Kitten
Across the globe, cats are admired as loyal and entertaining house pets. While some pet owners prefer
fostering an adult cat, most feel it would be best to own a kitten, mainly since they are so adorable. Yet
simple steps must be followed, such as making your home secure, collecting supplies, and keeping an
eye on your kitten. No matter the breed, appearance, or size of your kitten, all require care. Despite the
large amount of money you will spend purchasing your kitten, your currency will be well spent on a
fun, new housepet. While it can be a challenge at times, make sure you follow specific guidelines and
you will succeed with your new pet.
Just like with a human baby, kitten proofing your house is an easy, quick process. Firstly, secure any
sharp objects, such as knives or forks, to prevent your pet from impaling itself. Since cats are very
curious, especially at a young age, ensure toilet bowls are closed; your kitten could fall in and be
unable to escape. Cover sharp corners of tables or chairs. Lastly, restrict other pets, such as dogs,
that may attempt to harm your kitten. However, this is not the only procedure ... Show more content

Record any abnormal actions; for example, if it occasionally scratches or bites at its fur, it may be a
sign of fleas, tiny bugs that latch to the pelts of mostly dogs and cats and give them a very problematic
itch. Kittens have a tendency to teethe and scratch at whatever they can find, so simply nudge it when
it does this to you. If their habit gets too severe, you could purchase a small scratching post and teach
your kitten to claw at it. Never harm your kitten if it does bite or scratch; you could intimidate it or
possibly injure it, making it difficult to bond. For example, when your cat makes a mistake in learning
a trick, encourage it to try again. As one of the steps essential to maintaining a kitten, observation of
behavior is

Sexual Orientation And Gender Orientation Essay
e Henry
Paper 4
Sexual orientation
The theme that we have been focusing on in class for the past two weeks is sexual orientation. Sexual
orientation is more complex than just the gender a person is attracted to. Instead sexual orientation is
on more of a spectrum. On one end of the spectrum a person can be solely heterosexual and on the
opposite side a person can be completely homosexual. This also means that a person can be bisexual if
they identify more in the middle of the spectrum. The spectrum allows for all individuals of all
different sexualities to have a place on the spectrum. In the films Chasing Amy and XXY we see two
individuals who are more fluid with their sexuality and do not identify with being solely homosexual
or solely heterosexual.
The movie Chasing Amy is about a woman named Alyssa. Alyssa faces many judgments from her
friends when she tells them that she is now seeing a man. Alyssa s friends who were all lesbians
judged her for now dating a man. This is because they thought that Alyssa was a lesbian. Her friends
were judging her because she was maybe becoming a bi sexual and not a lesbian like she thought she
had been, Biphobia, like homophobia, is prejudice based on negative stereotypes. It is often born of
ignorance (Diehl, Ochs p.385). Throughout the movie Alyssa had to explain her sexual past because of
her sexual orientation. She was judged and belittled due to being a bi sexual, and when her past
relationships were brought up they were

Mothers Work Case
1.What facts in this case appear to be the most important to you?
When I think about Mothers Work and the firing of one of their pregnant employees, Papageorge,
what I find most alarming is that some members of Mothers Work management felt that she could not
do her job efficiently because she was pregnant. I find this disheartening considering the founder of
the company started the company while she was pregnant and marketed the company to working
class, pregnant women. Another fact that I deem important would be that another member of the
management team, be it lower, refused to fire Papageorge stating that it was against the law to do so.
The same manager informed her that there were ways around the law and to fire her anyways. When

I believe the publicity from this case has damaged the reputation of Mothers Work because even the
suggestion of discrimination tarnishes the reputation of a company. Employees may not want to work
for a company that they feel will discriminate against them. Investors may not want to invest in
Mothers Work if they feel like they are a company that discriminates or has a bad public image.
Women may choose to shop elsewhere because of the how Mothers Work chooses to treats their
female employees.
3. What actions (if any) should Mothers Work, Inc. take? What message should the company send to
the public? Who is Mothers Work s target audience?
In my opinion Mothers Work needs to seriously and immediately address the issue. They needed to
send an immediate announcement to all management that there will be diversity training. They needed
to make public a flex schedule that is beneficial to pregnant employees and show that they support
their employees. While their target audience may be their customers I will always love a quote from
Richard Branson that I believes sums up who your audience should always be take care of you
employees and they will take care of your

Police Taser Research Papers
Police officers are faced with many tasks and encounters with the public each and everyday. Most
encounters are non threatening where the individual or individuals are compliant. But however, there
are some encounters where the individual is non compliant and can pose a threat to the officer. When
an individual is non complaint and resisting arrest, an officer will use force, and how much force used
depends on the officer and the situation he or she is in. How much force is determined by what the
officer uses. An officer has many weapons and tools they can use to get a situation under control. The
most common weapons a officer could use include their gun, taser, baton, and mace. Out of these
weapons, one of the most controversial weapons is the taser. The taser has become one of the most
beneficial items law enforcement has to offer due to many reasons. However, there are still few
questions that need to be answered to some who are skeptical of the taser. The taser is a less than
leathal weapon where it will more than likely not kill the individual being tassered. The taser is
ultimately there to help officer safety and decrease injuries to officers. Just like anything else, the taser
does have disadvantages, but the advantages ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The taser helps the police gain control of what could be endangering situations. Tasers are a non lethal
weapon police can use without having to use too much force on an individual. Taser also help police
when it comes to the public s perception. Due to the taser, police do not necessarily need to fight an
individual where they are using weapons such as their fists, batons, or even flashlights to strike an
individual. Tasers help reduce police using these weapons, which helps cause less tension between the
police and community because the individual is not dying or being

The Effect Of Noble s Technique And Ta Training On Reducing
Proposal: Effect of Two Different Exercises on Reducing IRD in DRA
Research Question: What is the effect of Noble s Technique and TA training on reducing
Abstract
Background and Significance By the third trimester, 2 in 3 pregnant women develop diastasis rectus
abdomen (DRA). Although the DRA onset is painless, it is associated with other complications
including low back pain, pelvic dysfunction and altered abdominal strength. Despite the high
prevalence of DRA, there is little research on conservative therapy treatments. Purpose This study
aims to determine the effectiveness of two exercises, TA training and Noble s Technique, on reducing
inter recti distance (IRD) in post partum women and to secondarily look at changes in pain. Methods

Although the development of DRA is often painless,4 DRA is associated with other complications.
DRA causes disruption in the abdominal wall, which may affect core stability, posture, trunk motions
and low back pain.1,5 Because of the painless nature of a DRA,4 women s health PTs found most of
their patients with DRA were referred with other diagnoses, the most being low back pain followed by
floor dysfunction, pelvic pain, and urinary incontinence.2
One study found that women with DRA have higher chance of increased pelvic and abdominal pain
compared to women without DRA.6 Another study looking at urogynecological patients found
prevalence of DRA in 52% of those patients.7 Although this has not been determined to be a causal
relationship, an association has been demonstrated between the presence of DRA and increased
number of pelvic floor dysfunctions (including myofascial pelvic pain, incontinence and prolapse)
compared to patients without DRA.7 In addition to having pain, subjects with IRD over 3.5 cm were
less successful at performing pelvic tilt and trunk curls than subjects without DRA.8 DRA presence
alters the line of force of the RA and this change in biomechanics results in reduced torque production

Gun Safety At Home And Gun Control
Many people never think about the safeness of their child at home without a safe for their guns and
think that their child or other family members will get a hold of their guns to cause harms to others. A
better gun safety at home and gun control would prevent school shootings because many school
shootings could have been prevented with safety measures in the homes and in 2005 study shows that
1.69 million of children under the age of 18 lived with loaded and unlocked firearms at home. So,
about 89 percent of unintentional shootings of children in homes are caused by children playing with
loaded guns without their parents present. Many parents at home never think about the location of
their guns and always think that putting a weapon somewhere high will fix the problem of their child
getting a hold of the guns. Also, thinking that your child knows not to touch a weapon can prevent an
accident but that is not the case because nowadays guns are being shown all around the world and in
movies that cause children, wanting to be like them and act like them. The problem of passing laws on
gun control that would help prevent school shootings is that many Congress don t have the courage to
take that step, Senator wouldn t pass it and the House wouldn t even consider it. Having a good safe
for your guns at home will solve all problem with children getting a hold of a gun and bring it to the
school to cause harms to other and family members. Guns safe is something that keeps the

  • 2. Parent Child Relationships Essay The purpose of this paper is to observe the interactions of a parent child dyad and apply aspects of the theories studied in class to the observation. Since my experience working with families is limited to brief interactions with infant children and their mothers, I have chosen to base my analysis off of With or Without You: A Memoir by Domenica Ruta (2013). This is a relevant topic because the parent child relationship provides significant context for human development. In order to understand its influences, we must view parenting contributions from a variety of theoretical perspectives of development, keeping in mind the role of context and the role of biology. It has been interesting to read Domenica Ruta s childhood story and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Each stage has its own developmental task, unique to each individual experience, that must be faced and resolved in order to achieve healthy outcomes. For Dominica, her mother would constantly ask her to fetch things for her (i.e. soup, matches, chocolate milk, etc.), which would distract Domenica from her school work and assignments. The family also didn t own many books other than those Domenica brought home from the library. Even though Dominica grew up in a household that was strewn with garbage and drug paraphernalia, where she was repeatedly told that she was unattractive, she still developed a love for learning, reading, and was driven to succeed. This event can be connected to Erikson s fifth stage of developing one s identity or experiencing role confusion. Even though Dominica faced challenges, she still made an effort in her adolescent and young adult years to discover her true self and find meaning relevant to her own personhood. While attempting to discover her own unique identity, Dominica was also influenced by her mother s actions and behavior, which she mimicked in addition to responding to her mother s requests. In Social Learning Theory, Albert Bandura proposed that children acquire many skills in the absence of rewards/punishments by watching and imitating behaviors of others. The premise of this model is based on the idea of observational learning and modeling, through the parent child relationship. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to (Ramchandi 2015), last March there was an increase percentage of demand passengers with an average of 12 percent in the Asia Pacific region and it describes the Asia Pacific airlines recorded the strongest increase of passengers. Most of the civil aviation members both internationally and domestic agreed that the Asia Pacific states as fastest growing travel and transportation region in the world. Since they are now the largest region of passengers in the world, there are chances that they provide a framework plan for better infrastructure development in airlines particularly more on high quality maintenance and engines for high standard safety. The question is how the Asia Pacific made it successfully, reaching a billion dollars profit from Asia Pacific airline companies. Why people travel and what are their relationship between an airline and in a destination? There are some purpose why people travel but we must understand also why some passengers choose to book an expensive flight. Not all, majority of the passengers prefer to book a flight in low cost airlines. For instance, it is necessary to think and understand why Asian travellers love to travel and their purposes to visit in a destination. Travel demand refer to the amount number and type of people who are seeking for an experience and outstanding service from the airline and the destination that they re going to visit that would purchase at a given price and quality. He sells candy to his peers by changing his grade specific uniform to blend in to different lunch periods, catches homing pigeons to pick up some extra cash, and knows how to get back at bullies by using urine and water balloons. He is quick to learn when taught in an accessible way and is eager to apply it to his everyday life. Randy also has ambitions of running his own business. He truly enjoys school, whether he is learning in the classroom or selling his wares, and opens himself up to teachers like Prez that take a genuine interest in his well being. Randy adores his foster mother Miss Anna, and is always grateful for her time and care. Whenever Miss Anna s house is shown it seems to be well taken care of, despite the less than ideal location. Though he has no interest in getting involved with drugs, Randy, trying to keep himself out of trouble with Miss Anna, is labeled a snitch by his peers for talking about a murder. After being pulled out of school for reasons of safety, he is still pursued and eventually attacked by those he was believed to have snitched on. Miss Anna is caught in the cross fire and deemed no longer able to take care of him, thus leaving Randy to fend for himself in a group home. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... How the number of maggots in mass affects the temperature of the mass and development of the mass? Larvae can form feeding masses on a corpse and can generate an enormous amount of heat. They develop slower at lower temperatures and more rapidly at higher temperatures because metabolic rate is more active at higher temperatures and slower at lower temperatures. As larvae are poikilothermic (cold blooded) the major factor which can increase the metabolic activity of them is external temperature. How temperature affects enzymes? Enzymes are very large globular proteins with three dimensional shapes which is vital for enzyme activity as natural catalyst in chemical reactions within the living organisms (7). The rate of enzyme catalyzed reaction increases as the temperature is raised (). An increase of temperature by 1 2 degrees may introduce changes of 10% 20% in the results. As the temperature increases the kinetic energy that molecules possess increases as well. This results in more random collisions of substrate and enzymes increasing rate of the chemical reaction, more product is formed (6). The metabolic rate of an organism increases, hence it develops faster. However metabolic activity of the larvae cannot be responsible for high mass temperatures which affect larval development. The heat produced by larvae is normally heat to regulate body temperature. Increasing in temperature also increases the vibrating energy in molecules. High temperatures can denature ... I had already been practicing my tumbling skills at Corner House for about five months, but I still wasn t confident with my skills. We had cheer camp for the next week to go over the cheers and how the tryout process was going to go. During the week I had gotten pretty good at the cheers but I lost my running tumbling from being so nervous. This made me so scared for tryouts and I thought for sure I wasn t going to make the team, especially compared to other girls who had outstanding tumbling skills. I knew that now I couldn t rely on my tumbling to get me on the team so I focused on my jumps and cheers. It was the night before tryouts and I couldn t sleep because of my nerves. Later that night at around 3:00 AM, I threw up from thinking about it so much. I stayed up the rest of the night practicing my cheers as quietly as I could without waking my sister or my parents up. When it was finally time to go to the tryouts I was getting ready and now I was worried I was going to be late even though I had plenty of time. While I was putting my hair up in a ponytail, I wasn t able to get it up without hair sticking out on the sides. Once I realized I was just going to have to deal with it, I started putting my bow in. • 12. Persuasive Essay About The Superhero Growing up we often find ourselves talking about realistic and fictional heroes at some point in our lifetime. Most of us can remember being asked questions like who s your favorite superhero or if you could be a superhero which would you choose. Those were always hard questions to me because my interest at the time consisted of watching the latest Hannah Montana episodes. Although I never went out of my way to watch or read about the fictional superheroes, I knew things like what kind of powers they had and how their costume looked. I never based my opinion on their actual character and their mission as a hero. Avoiding the names like Superman and Batman was nearly impossible. They were on t shirts, book bags, and even took up a whole aisle in the toy section at our local grocery store. Just recently I started watching the superhero movies like Captain America: The First Avenger and Iron Man. Unlike the others, there was a connection I had in the beginning with the characters because before they transformed into the superhero that is known today, we met the person underneath the costume and became familiar with their imperfections and strengths as a normal human being like you and me. As the viewers, we develop different expectations superheroes should meet, like their powers, their costume, and even their characters personality. We could change who we are to be like those seen in the movies or simply find the superhero in us. Captain America and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For example, if an asset such as capital is used for one purpose, the opportunity cost is the value of the next best purpose the asset could have been used for (Web Finance, Inc., 2007). Opportunity cost can also be referred to as rate of return. A rate of return is the total income per period per dollar invested (Brealey, Myers Marcus, 2003). To do this the formula i = ( FV / PV) (1/n) 1 can be used (Getobjects.com, 2004). Opportunity cost is the benefit or cash flow forgone as a result of an action (Brealey, Myers Marcus, 2003). An annuity is a sequence of equally spaced levels of cash flows (Brealey, Myers Marcus, 2003). Some examples are car payments, loans, mortgages, or utilities. Annuities can be set monthly, bi monthly, weekly, quarterly or annually. The payments or receipts occur at the end of each period for an ordinary annuity while they occur at the beginning of each period for an annuity due (Getobjects.com, 2004). There are two places that annuities fall under, present and future. The present value of an ordinary annuity is the value of equally spaced payments in the future (Brealey, Myers Marcus, 2003). Which can be calculated as PVoa = PMT [(1 (1 / (1 + i)n)) / i] PVoa = Present Value of an Ordinary Annuity, PMT = Amount of each payment, i = Discount Rate per Period, and n = Number of Periods (Getobjects.com, 2004). (Krasner, pg 17) Interdependence sovereignty is the ability of a state to regulate the flow of information, goods, ideas and people into and out of its country. States try to hold on to this type of sovereignty because their ability to do this is directly related to their ability to effectively take control and organise their own polity, which in essence is domestic sovereignty which states must hold on to by definition i.e. in order to be a state in the first place. We shall consider reasons which prompt states to relinquish some of their sovereignty later in our discussion. Popular transgender people such as Laverne Cox and Caitlin Jenner are cultural representatives of this group. Filipino society has also experienced an emergence of LGBT and gender non conformity. As reported by the United States Agency of International Development (USAID), reference was made to transvestism and crossing gender in the 16th and 17th century with the babaylan (Tan 8). Even if modern Filipino society tolerates trans personalities such as congresswoman Geraldine Roman, and Jake Zyrus, a trans male singer formerly known as Charice, there has yet to be true justice and respect for the trans community in even the smallest of circumstances. A transgender as defined by Cambridge Dictionary is, someone who feels that they are not the same gender (= sex) as the physical body they were born with, or who does not fit easily into being either a male or a female. Given their gender identity differing from their sex assigned at birth, a lot of the behavioral aspects in their lifestyle coordinate with the gender they identify with. A specific aspect of this would be the restroom that these trans people use, that being the opposite gender to what sex they were born as, or in short the gender of which they identify with. From the moment we first hear about Romeo, it is in the context of his suffering at the hands of love. At first, it s Rosaline, a girl who has sworn that she will still live chaste (1.1.210), a vow that sets Romeo reeling and complaining because from love s weak childish bow she lives unharmed (1.1.204). K 1 applies the Universality principle, which asks the question Would a person in a similar circumstance do the same thing? Most of the people who are in the pornography business know that they could be making money in another way. And if asked, they would not like their son or daughter to follow their steps. By this it would flunk the K 1 standard. K 3 applies the publicity test, which asks Would I be willing to tell my grandmother? By majority nobody would tell their grandmother about it, if he or she is working in pornography. It would flunk the publicity test. Human Rights are what more people are concerned with. Pornography fits in where people have the freedom of speech, life and the right to pursue happiness. While people are doing it by their own means and have the adequate age then pornography is all right. In my opinion pornography does violate welfare rights, since pornography is not considered a moral and ethical way of living because it is not a descent environment. • 21. Relationship Between Economic Growth And Economic Development Introduction Economic development is a new concept that came about in the early twentieth century. Although, theorists argue that Karl Marx has alluded to the concept earlier in 1887 . Historically, the increasing importance of the concept can be traced back to the needs approach of the ILO , World Bank and Amartya Sen s Capability approach (Sen, 1993). Gerald Meier defines economic development as the process whereby the real per capita income of a country increases over a long period of time subject to the stipulation that the number below an absolute poverty line does not increase and that the distribution of income does not become more unequal . Wherein, there is evidently a strong relationship between economic growth and development. This essay analysis the concept of the two terms economic growth and economic development by examining their characteristic approaches. In turn, understanding the relationship between them. The fractal was built by starting with an equilateral triangle and removing the inner third of each side, building another equilateral triangle where the side was removed, and then repeating the process indefinitely. The process is pictured below, showing the original triangle at stage zero, and the resulting figures after one, two and three iterations. Method: Let Nn=the number of sides, Ln=the length of a single side, Pn= the length of the perimeter and An= the area of the snowflake, all for the nth stage. Using an initial side length of 1, create a table that shows the exact values of N_n,〖 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Consequently, the area of each of these triangle is 1/9 of the original triangles. Therefore the total area added is: Area added=3×1/9 =1/3 Therefore, to find the area of snowflake n=1, these two area ratios must be multiplied by the area of the original triangle at n=0. A_1=√3/4 (1+1/3) A_1=√3/3 For snowflake n=2, twelve additional triangles are added onto the initial triangle, with side lengths of 1/9. Consequently, the area of each of these triangle is 1/81 of the original triangles. Therefore the total area added is: Area added=12×1/81 =12/81 =4/27 Therefore, to find the area of snowflake n=2, this area ratio, as well as the previous two, must be multiplied by the area of the original triangle at n=0. A_2=√3/4 (1+1/3+4/27) A_2=(10√3)/27 At n=3, following the previous pattern: 48 triangles with side length 1/81, and area 1/729 are added. The most success is achieved from a combination of medication and CBT, which utilizes behavioral and cognitive therapy as well as medication in order to prevent depressive thinking and behavior and learn new coping strategies and an enhanced outlook on life. Combining CBT with medication emphasizes to users that a pill isn t the answer to their problems, but it is an effective tool in improving their life. Antidepressants should not be administered freely; there should be a recognized need, diagnosable by a qualified doctor, in order for medication to be prescribed. In place of medication, CBT should be administered despite its costly nature. A compromise must be made in order to allow depressed individuals to take control of their lives, while at the same time not have to depend on a substance to provide happiness and ... • 40. Critical Analysis Of Evidence Based Practice Critical Analysis of Evidence Pressure ulcers occur over bony prominences when skin is compressed for long periods of time, affecting the blood supply to certain areas, leading to ischaemia development (Waugh and Grant, 2001). Compression of skin is caused by pressure, shearing and friction, but can also occur due to pressure exerted by medical equipment (Randle, Coffey and Bradbury, 2009). NICE (2014) states that the prevalence of pressure ulcers in different healthcare settings in December 2013 was 4.7%, taken from data available for 186,000 patients. The cost of treating ulcers can vary depending on severity from £43 up to £374 (NICE, 2014). Evidence based practice skills are essential in nursing as it allows the best available evidence to be used to improve practice and patient care, while improving decision making (Holland and Rees, 2010). I will be critiquing two research papers; qualitative and quantitative, using a framework set out by Holland and Rees (2010), and will explore the impact on practice. Using a framework provides a standardised method of assessing quality and reduces subjectivity. What influences the impact of pressure ulcers on health related quality of life? A qualitative patient focused exploration of contributory factors (Gorecki, Nixon, Madill, Firth and Brown, 2012) The article topic should be an area in which there is a gap between knowledge and practice, and in qualitative research, emphasises the experience of a condition (Holland and Rees, ... • 41. Speech On Owning A Kitten Across the globe, cats are admired as loyal and entertaining house pets. While some pet owners prefer fostering an adult cat, most feel it would be best to own a kitten, mainly since they are so adorable. Yet simple steps must be followed, such as making your home secure, collecting supplies, and keeping an eye on your kitten. No matter the breed, appearance, or size of your kitten, all require care. Despite the large amount of money you will spend purchasing your kitten, your currency will be well spent on a fun, new housepet. While it can be a challenge at times, make sure you follow specific guidelines and you will succeed with your new pet. Just like with a human baby, kitten proofing your house is an easy, quick process. Firstly, secure any sharp objects, such as knives or forks, to prevent your pet from impaling itself. Since cats are very curious, especially at a young age, ensure toilet bowls are closed; your kitten could fall in and be unable to escape. Cover sharp corners of tables or chairs. Lastly, restrict other pets, such as dogs, that may attempt to harm your kitten. However, this is not the only procedure ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Record any abnormal actions; for example, if it occasionally scratches or bites at its fur, it may be a sign of fleas, tiny bugs that latch to the pelts of mostly dogs and cats and give them a very problematic itch. Kittens have a tendency to teethe and scratch at whatever they can find, so simply nudge it when it does this to you. If their habit gets too severe, you could purchase a small scratching post and teach your kitten to claw at it. Never harm your kitten if it does bite or scratch; you could intimidate it or possibly injure it, making it difficult to bond. For example, when your cat makes a mistake in learning a trick, encourage it to try again. As one of the steps essential to maintaining a kitten, observation of behavior is ... • 42. Sexual Orientation And Gender Orientation Essay e Henry Paper 4 Sexual orientation The theme that we have been focusing on in class for the past two weeks is sexual orientation. Sexual orientation is more complex than just the gender a person is attracted to. Instead sexual orientation is on more of a spectrum. On one end of the spectrum a person can be solely heterosexual and on the opposite side a person can be completely homosexual. This also means that a person can be bisexual if they identify more in the middle of the spectrum. The spectrum allows for all individuals of all different sexualities to have a place on the spectrum. In the films Chasing Amy and XXY we see two individuals who are more fluid with their sexuality and do not identify with being solely homosexual or solely heterosexual. The movie Chasing Amy is about a woman named Alyssa. Alyssa faces many judgments from her friends when she tells them that she is now seeing a man. Alyssa s friends who were all lesbians judged her for now dating a man. This is because they thought that Alyssa was a lesbian. Her friends were judging her because she was maybe becoming a bi sexual and not a lesbian like she thought she had been, Biphobia, like homophobia, is prejudice based on negative stereotypes. It is often born of ignorance (Diehl, Ochs p.385). Throughout the movie Alyssa had to explain her sexual past because of her sexual orientation. She was judged and belittled due to being a bi sexual, and when her past relationships were brought up they were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Mothers Work Case 1.What facts in this case appear to be the most important to you? When I think about Mothers Work and the firing of one of their pregnant employees, Papageorge, what I find most alarming is that some members of Mothers Work management felt that she could not do her job efficiently because she was pregnant. I find this disheartening considering the founder of the company started the company while she was pregnant and marketed the company to working class, pregnant women. Another fact that I deem important would be that another member of the management team, be it lower, refused to fire Papageorge stating that it was against the law to do so. The same manager informed her that there were ways around the law and to fire her anyways. When ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I believe the publicity from this case has damaged the reputation of Mothers Work because even the suggestion of discrimination tarnishes the reputation of a company. Employees may not want to work for a company that they feel will discriminate against them. Investors may not want to invest in Mothers Work if they feel like they are a company that discriminates or has a bad public image. Women may choose to shop elsewhere because of the how Mothers Work chooses to treats their female employees. 3. What actions (if any) should Mothers Work, Inc. take? What message should the company send to the public? Who is Mothers Work s target audience? In my opinion Mothers Work needs to seriously and immediately address the issue. They needed to send an immediate announcement to all management that there will be diversity training. They needed to make public a flex schedule that is beneficial to pregnant employees and show that they support their employees. While their target audience may be their customers I will always love a quote from Richard Branson that I believes sums up who your audience should always be take care of you employees and they will take care of your ... • 44. Police Taser Research Papers Police officers are faced with many tasks and encounters with the public each and everyday. Most encounters are non threatening where the individual or individuals are compliant. But however, there are some encounters where the individual is non compliant and can pose a threat to the officer. When an individual is non complaint and resisting arrest, an officer will use force, and how much force used depends on the officer and the situation he or she is in. How much force is determined by what the officer uses. An officer has many weapons and tools they can use to get a situation under control. The most common weapons a officer could use include their gun, taser, baton, and mace. Out of these weapons, one of the most controversial weapons is the taser. The taser has become one of the most beneficial items law enforcement has to offer due to many reasons. However, there are still few questions that need to be answered to some who are skeptical of the taser. The taser is a less than leathal weapon where it will more than likely not kill the individual being tassered. The taser is ultimately there to help officer safety and decrease injuries to officers. Just like anything else, the taser does have disadvantages, but the advantages ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Effect Of Noble s Technique And Ta Training On Reducing Proposal: Effect of Two Different Exercises on Reducing IRD in DRA Research Question: What is the effect of Noble s Technique and TA training on reducing Abstract Background and Significance By the third trimester, 2 in 3 pregnant women develop diastasis rectus abdomen (DRA). Although the DRA onset is painless, it is associated with other complications including low back pain, pelvic dysfunction and altered abdominal strength. Despite the high prevalence of DRA, there is little research on conservative therapy treatments. Methods ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although the development of DRA is often painless,4 DRA is associated with other complications. DRA causes disruption in the abdominal wall, which may affect core stability, posture, trunk motions and low back pain.1,5 Because of the painless nature of a DRA,4 women s health PTs found most of their patients with DRA were referred with other diagnoses, the most being low back pain followed by floor dysfunction, pelvic pain, and urinary incontinence.2 One study found that women with DRA have higher chance of increased pelvic and abdominal pain compared to women without DRA.6 Another study looking at urogynecological patients found prevalence of DRA in 52% of those patients.7 Although this has not been determined to be a causal relationship, an association has been demonstrated between the presence of DRA and increased number of pelvic floor dysfunctions (including myofascial pelvic pain, incontinence and prolapse) compared to patients without DRA.7 In addition to having pain, subjects with IRD over 3.5 cm were less successful at performing pelvic tilt and trunk curls than subjects without DRA.8 DRA presence alters the line of force of the RA and this change in biomechanics results in reduced torque production ... • 46. Gun Safety At Home And Gun Control Many people never think about the safeness of their child at home without a safe for their guns and think that their child or other family members will get a hold of their guns to cause harms to others. A better gun safety at home and gun control would prevent school shootings because many school shootings could have been prevented with safety measures in the homes and in 2005 study shows that 1.69 million of children under the age of 18 lived with loaded and unlocked firearms at home. So, about 89 percent of unintentional shootings of children in homes are caused by children playing with loaded guns without their parents present. Many parents at home never think about the location of their guns and always think that putting a weapon somewhere high will fix the problem of their child getting a hold of the guns. Also, thinking that your child knows not to touch a weapon can prevent an accident but that is not the case because nowadays guns are being shown all around the world and in movies that cause children, wanting to be like them and act like them. The problem of passing laws on gun control that would help prevent school shootings is that many Congress don t have the courage to take that step, Senator wouldn t pass it and the House wouldn t even consider it. Having a good safe for your guns at home will solve all problem with children getting a hold of a gun and bring it to the school to cause harms to other and family members.
