This document defines power, authority, and influence and identifies their key characteristics. It discusses six sources of power according to French and Raven's framework: position, control of resources, social connections, expertise, control of information, and personal characteristics. Six influence strategies ("6 Ps") are also identified: position, push, pull, persuasion, preparatory, and preventative.
