POWER
 It’s the ability of individual or groups to induce or influence the beliefs or actions of
other persons or groups
 Although there are many different BASES OF POWER:
1.Legitimate power
2.Expertness
3.Reward power
4. Coercive power
AUTHORITY
 It is the power to exercise discretion in decision making, it almost arises from the
power of position or legitimate power.
 Whenever people speak about “authority” in managerial settings ,they are usually
referring to power of the position.
