importance of the Colosseum, otherwise known originally as the Flavian Amphitheatre, was that

The emperor of Rome at the time, Vespasian, began building the Colosseum (Flavian
Amphitheatre) in 72 AD. They believed that in ancient Rome the patron was more noble and

I think that a majority of people, as do I, would agree that there is something wrong with what
was done to Truman. We would all tend to believe that it would be a sad existence for any person
to be so fooled by his environment and be so oblivious to the truth for his whole life. However,
Truman?s situation is a metaphor for the current media climate that we live in today. The world
has become something of a dome in which reality seems to be whatever we see and hear in the

brick wall. The characteristics of brick walls are strong, firm and robust which is ironic, as the
wall in the cartoon is shown curved and deteriorating. Another element of irony in the cartoon is

In the graphic novel, Persepolis, Marjane Satrapi creates a visual representation of what life was
like in Iran, being a girl growing up there during the Islamic Revolution. Transitioning from a child
to an adult, Marjane comes to many realizations about her life. She sees how women are
