Marketing Strategy Of Domino s Pizza
Domino s Pizza: A strategy to enter the Czech food service market
Introduction
Domino s Pizza is among America s favourite pizza chains and, although it ranked below well known
chains such as Papa John s and Pizza Ranch, the company still managed to have a slightly higher
loyalty score than its closest competitor Pizza Hut. Founded in 1960 by Tom Monaghan and his
brother James in the city of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Domino s experience a rapid growth and open its first
international restaurant in the early eighties and reached the number of more than 1000 stores
worldwide at the end of Nineties; the aim of the company, indeed, is the constant growth, as it is
declared in the mission statement: we want to be the number one . Almost half of Domino s Pizza
stores are located in the United States where consumers spend around $25 billion each year on pizza
delivery and take away (monthly visitors to the chain have been increasing for at least five years,
reaching 21 million in the spring of 2016) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The company continued to invest in technology that enhances the convenience in ordering,
preparation, and delivery, all aspects of the modern foodservice experience that consumers in all world
markets increasingly prefer; their vision, in fact, is to be the best pizza delivery in the world . Pizza
sales in 2014 2015 were buoyed by strong growth in Italy, India, Argentina, Brazil, the UK and the
US. Domino s Pizza has unlocked this potential in India, a key growth market and Domino s largest
international market to date, but has struggled to find similar success in China and Brazil, where it
trails chief competitor Pizza Hut. Domino s specifically leads the world in HDTA (Home Delivery and
Takeaway) with 9.4% of the global market in 2015 and 20.9% of chained operators. This can be
attributed to the company s domestic performance in the US, where it reaps huge profits from
supplying its many

Capital Punishment Is The Ultimate Irreversible Denial For...
The uptick of capital punishment in the United States keeps on being a conspicuous issue is the
domain of the criminal justice system. Capital punishment is a matter in which numerous people
contradict and challenge as it a contemporary type of the death penalty. There have been numerous
studies attempting to demonstrate or object a point in regards to capital punishment. Some have
viewed capital punishment as a deterrent, which is the utilization of discipline as a danger to deflect
individuals from offending. Capital punishment has been credited to social orders for many years.
More recently, capital punishment has been addressed to be the right stride toward equity. Over the
span of this paper I will review if capital punishment is the ultimate irreversible denial for human
rights, the history, the profile of the types of person put to death or sentenced, the means and methods
of putting to death or sentenced to death, the issues associated with those methods, the success and
failures of the death penalty, and a few historical cases.
The roots of the death penalty laws can be traced back to ancient Babylonia and The Code of
Hammurabi which highlighted 25 violations that were deserving of death, yet humorously murder was
excluded. The death penalty, in what is presently America, was a feature of England s correctional
framework that was received by the original states. The first recorded execution in the British
American Colonies was in the Jamestown Colony in 1608.

The Great Rift Valley Of Kenya And Tanzania
Their highly energetic and athletic style of dancing, tall stature as well as their signature bright red
clothing are just some of the unique things that define the Maasai. For many centuries, this indigenous
tribe who lives in the vast open spaces of Africa s Great Rift Valley found in the countries of Kenya
and Tanzania, believes that God entrusted them with the cattle. Their lifestyle reflects the natural
environment in which they live in as well as the rich ritual and traditions that they have managed to
preserve today. The Maasai people have a reputation of being brave, responsible and fierce. Their
community has its own way of hierarchal organization where the elder men and warriors are at the top
and the women and children are at the bottom. The core image Maasai people hold with respect to
themselves is that of itunga ana loo ngishu which means people of cattle or entelapu meaning those
who are under cattle (Galaty 4). Most of the rituals and values of the Maasai people depend on their
age and the relationship of the tribe is based on a strict set of rules. The Maasai s patriarchal society,
traditional rituals, and unique food system have made them unique among the other African
Pastoralists.
As I have previously mentioned, men are more dominant than women in the Maasai society. Maasai
men are supposed to protect their homes, maintain water sources, and protect their livestock ( Maasai
Tribe: True Reflection of Africa, 2013). Also, the warriors in the community have

To What Extent Were the Moscow Olympic Games of 1980...
A: Plan of investigation The purpose of this study is to analyze extensively the role that Cold War
tensions played in the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games. The analysis seeks to understand the effect that
politics, have on the organization, implementation and eventually success of sporting events such as
the Olympics. In order to do so, the analysis will address the events leading up to, during and after the
Moscow Olympic Games of 1980. The Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in 1979 will be addressed to
help place the games into perspective. Also, exchanges between the two nations before, during and
after the games will be analyzed to understand if and to what extent they affected the games. To

With all out war out of the question, President Jimmy Carter after careful consideration led a US
delegation to oppose the hosting of the Olympic Games of 1980, in Moscow (Bigelow). This attempt
however failed as the Olympic Organizing Committee refused to change the venue as it was so late in
the organization and planning of the games. Feeling aggrieved, the US sought the support of other
nations in boycotting the games. The US engaged in vigorous campaigns that involved sending
emissaries to countries all over the globe to explain to them why it was critical that they boycott the
games. The emissaries drew from renowned diplomats and sports personalities such as Muhammad
Ali. This attempt however did fail as most nations felt hat it was great disrespect that athletes and not
diplomats were sent. One such example was in the Tanzanian case; Tanzanian President Julius Nyerere
was insulted an athlete was sent instead of a diplomat, and Ali, disenchanted because he was accused
of being Carter s puppet, started to think of cutting himself loose from the job (Bigelow).
Ultimately, the campaign managed to reel in 60 other nations in boycotting the games in Moscow.
Back at home, while most supported the move to boycott the games, some felt that it was a gross
injustice to the athletes that had trained vigorously for the games. The athletes themselves, though not
vocal at the time, greatly suffered

Applying Leadership Principles Paper
Communication is Key: Strategies to effective leadership
Chontrese Haskins
Applying Leadership Principles: Research Paper: Dr. Amenyah
July 31st 2016
When asked to define a leader, most would define one by naming traits such as self confidence,
ambition, and determination. Although these are great qualities, this does not define a leader. A leader
is someone in a position of authority who has ability to influence a group through effective
communication reaching a common goal. (Robbins, DeCenzo, Coulter, 2015) Effective leaders work
diligently to motive and inspire groups through their actions. This paper is a synopsis of
communication and how effective leadership can drive an organization to success.
The study of leadership dates back as far as the late 20th century. ... Show more content on

Discovered by Dr. James McGregor Burns, Transformational Leadership relates to engagement and
connectivity. Dr. Bernard Bass expounded Burn s work with transactional leadership in his publication
Work Leadership. Burns and Bass suggest that leaders should raise consciousness to their followers by
sharing the importance of the values and goals of an organization, in turn, motivating followers to
address higher management level needs. In 1985, Bass released Leadership and Performance beyond
expectation breaking down transformational leadership into four parts.
1) Idealized Influence Gaining trust from their follower, the leader/supervisor acts like a role model.
2) Inspirational Motivation Whereas the leader sets high expectations, encouraging his subordinates to
achieve higher goals.
3) Intellectual Stimulation Followers are encouraged to become innovative

How Does Natasha Romanoff Present The Russian Language In...
As the first female Avenger, Natasha Romanoff s physical attractiveness and her Russian heritage have
been emphasized most in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the beginning of The Avengers, she is
interrogated by Russian thugs in a Russian warehouse. Donned in a short, revealing black cocktail
dress, Romanoff slyly gains information from the thugs, while feigning ignorance. Thus, the film
suggests that she is untrustworthy because she can easily trick others. In addition, Romanoff s spoken
Russian in this scene reflects the misrepresentation of the Russian language in The Avengers. For a
woman born and raised in the Soviet Russia, Natasha Romanoff has a notably American accent in
comparison to the thug speaking Russian. Minor, yet explicitly antagonistic and foolish Russian
characters are cast with Slavic actors who can properly speak the language, yet when ... Show more

Therefore, The Avengers uses the vilified Russian identity for entertainment. Furthermore, the scene
emphasizes Romanoff s characterization as a Russian beauty. During the conversation, the thug
comments on Romanoff s beauty: she is just a pretty face. Romanoff appears to question this
statement, with a quipped retort: You really think that I m pretty? However, the visual depiction of an
ensuing fight suggests that the one of the most important components of Romanoff s characterization
is her attractive face and bust. As she throws punches, including one seemingly from her bright red
hair, the camera angles frame to flaunt Romanoff s upper body. The final shot of the fight features her
glistening face and bust in the middle of the frame. Just as the dialogue suggests, Romanoff s physical
beauty is emphasized. Therefore, being a distinctly Russian woman in The Avengers entails the
highlighting of an appealing visual aesthetic, the misrepresentation of language, and an ability to trick

Bellocq s Ophelia Analysis
When one gazes at the posed risqué photos that the photographer E. J. Bellocq took during the
Storyville era many questions arise as to, who the female models were, where did they work, and
why? Storyville was a legalized red light district in New Orleans. Storyville was the answer to the
ongoing crime problem in New Orleans back in the late eighteen to early nineteen hundreds. After the
closure of Storyville, the so called embarrassment was almost wiped from history. Bellocq s photos, a
couple of rundown buildings, and very few tales about Storyville are left today. Natasha Trethewey
gave these forgotten women a voice in her collection of poems Bellocq s Ophelia. She granted her
readers a gaze into a forbidden world in a time that is long ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Even with the progression, women in the Edwardian Era still were seen as domestic house keepers and
caregivers. Getting a job during this time was very difficult because women were limited to what jobs
they were allowed to have. In Bellocq s Ophelia, Ophelia talks about a tragedy that occurred in 1911,
In the paper today, tragedy / in New York City a clothing factory, so many women / dying in a fire,
(Trethewey 22). Women could work in factories, mines, be maids for people with sizable incomes, and
on farms; however women rarely found respectable middle class jobs that allowed them financial
security without getting married. This information is also supported by the website article called
Striking Women. (http://www.striking women.org/module/women and work/19th and early 20th
century.) These glass ceilings were only part of the barriers preventing Ophelia from her intended job,
presumably as a secretary.
Ophelia s mother was black and her father was white. Albeit the thirteenth amendment was signed and
the south lost the Civil War, racism was a part of everyday life. In Bellocq s Ophelia, the Letter Home
poem states, I walk these streets / a white woman, or so I think, until I catch the eyes / of some
stranger upon me, and I must lower mine, / a negress again, (Trethewey 7). The Jim Crow laws were
just beginning, segregation was lawful, and horrendous acts of violence plagued black people. The one

Teaching Styles Of The Nurse Educators
Comparison of Teaching Styles The nurse educators are faced with the challenge of adapting their
teaching styles to accommodate a new generation of learners. An effective teacher should take into
account the intellectual, social, and cultural characteristics of each student, whereas the students
should identify that each teacher has a unique style of teaching. As part of the classroom online
teaching practicum course, I was privileged to shadow an instructor at the University of South Florida.
The instructor was giving lectures on both Mondays and Wednesdays for semester 1 students and had
fundamentals of nursing lab sessions on both Tuesdays and Thursdays. The teaching styles that I
attended in the classroom set up were plain lectures, group discussion with flipped classroom
(different instructor) whereas the teaching in the fundamentals lab were done with demonstrations on
the manikins (observed various instructors demonstrating various skills).
Discussion of Teaching Styles
Lecture
Lecturing is considered to be one of the oldest methods of teaching. Lectures need to bridge between
what is in the student s mind to the structures of the contents to be learned. Therefore the systematic
organization of the contents and the meaningful delivery of the lecture is very important for effective
learning. The nurse should formulate lecture adapting various steps such as; plan the body of the

Seven Steps to Solving the Housing Crisis
The crisis that America has found herself in, to be completely blunt and honest, all revolves around
stupidity and bad choices. American citizens that had absolutely no business even thinking of buying a
house flooded the market and were encouraged by greedy bankers that were out to make a profit,
without thinking of the consequences or morals involved. Now the government has over stepped their
boundaries and are spending this country into such deep debt, which makes one think that that light at
the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train with no hope of slowing down, let alone stopping. The
solution to this economic crisis is outlined in seven easy baby steps: 1. America needs to create a small
emergency fund (at least a million ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Houses would be paid for, jobs would open up, the stock market would probably not shift as much as
it does, welfare programs would become obsolete, over 70% of Americans would stop living pay

which would make us all winners, and broke people would stop buying houses that they can t afford.
If everyone bought houses that they could afford then there would be no more foreclosures; especially
if everyone had an emergency fund to give them an alternative if something happened. If businesses
weren t built on debt, especially sole proprietorships, then businesses wouldn t have to lay a bunch of
people off or cut down productivity. America needs to save to help take care of her people and
Americans need to take care of themselves so that we all win in the end.
Lastly, America needs to build a bunch of wealth and give a bunch of it away. This concept is for the
government and her people because when one gives and it becomes a habit, that person is forever
changed. It reminds them that it s not all about them. It s not about getting a bunch of stuff that they
can t afford to impress people that they don t even like. It s about taking care of your neighbor; it s
about being a selfless person and nation in a selfless world. America needs to invest in herself again,

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder ( Ptsd )
PTSD in Catcher in the Rye Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is most commonly thought of as an illness
men and women acquire from experiences while serving in the wars. Some do not even know what it
is or how much it affects people s lives. In the novel, The Catcher in the Rye, J.D. Salinger helps to
convey what Post Traumatic Stress Disorder really is. PTSD is a curable condition triggered by a
traumatic event with many types, causes, and symptoms displayed by Holden Caulfield.
All of the people who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder have described the events causing
this condition as frightening and stressful. PTSD develops in about 1 in 3 people who experience
severe trauma ( Post traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Causes ). It is a common disorder and different
people come upon it in a variety of ways. In most cases, events responsible for Post Traumatic Stress
Disorder occur in the person s early life and in people who have a history of mental illnesses such as
depression or anxiety. Also, most patients have always had trouble coping with tragedies and do not
have very much support around the time of the trauma ( Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) ).
This condition can develop in different amounts of time following the situation, depending on the
person. It can begin immediately after, weeks, months, or even years later ( Post traumatic Stress

JSF Program Analysis
The DoD communicated to Congress that the JSF program was essential to national security and
needed to continue. DoD was not the only corner of the iron triangle to influence Congress s decision
to continue the program. Lockheed Martin and various lobby groups highlighted the fact that the JSF
program supported 133,000 jobs many of them subcontractors and parts suppliers that were spread
across 45 states. Moreover, when full rate production was to begin, the employment figure would
grow to well over 250,000. With constituents in 45 states tied to the JSF program it was a given that

At times a strength can also be considered a weakness depending on the context. The JSF program has
a number of dual strength and weakness aspects to its program. The fact that the program is a joint
venture between the Navy and Air Force is theoretically a strength. The JSF is replacing the A 10, F
16, F/A 18A D, and the AV 8 which are airframes from the Air Force, Navy, and Marines. The original
idea was to use a common production line to produce three versions of a single aircraft thereby saving
money. The concept was that each version would share 70% similarities with the others. It is more
cost effective to produce one aircraft with three versions vice three distinct aircraft. Moreover, there
were eight nations that partnered with the U.S. in the JSF program providing significant financial
contributions especially as compared to what they typically spent on their military budget in a given
year. Partnering with other nations would reduce the overall cost of each

Great Depression Myth
The article compares the myths about the Great Depression and the reality about the depression.
According to the article, the Great Depression is viewed as one. However, the reality as indicated in
the article are that there were four factors that contributed to the Great Depression. Factors in this case
refer to the areas of the economy that failed all of which led to the Great Depression. They occurred in
phases and hence as opposed to the myth that it occurred as one Great, Great, Great, Great Depression,
it occurred in four phases (Reed, 2012).
As noted in the article, policies in the business cycle is one of the factors that aided the great
depression. In the article, it provided that from the year 1921 to mid of the year 1929 there is a 60%
increase in the money supply (Reed, 2012). As a result, there was an inflationary effect that was
considered by the then government of the United States of America a threat to the economy. The
government was thus to intervene to save the economy.
It utilized contractionary monetary policy with an aim of reducing the amount of money that was

accordingly and as a result, led to depression due to reduced investments and reduced productivity by
industries. In addition, can be determined from the article while the government appeared to be putting

Stonewall and his troops stood their ground and fought furiously pushing the Union troops into a

Stonewall s father died when Stonewall was very young, leaving him without a father figure to mold

and find more evidence, but know when the young man was getting moved to a better person he
would refuse to stop doing something and the police gentlemen shoot to injure not to kill. In the end it
was very sad because Atticus Finch knew that he was going to win the next trial. A couple days later
the kids Jem and Scout were hearing him from a school play and in the wood they were attacked by
Robert Ewell and he tried to kill them. But that one guy, Jem told the story about is true and he came
out and saved them both. His name was Boo Radley and he saves them. In conclusion, the whole town
is affected by the racial tension of the trial and how he was really not guilty. My favorite scene was
probably when it came to the trial because that part was just so good and it made me just want to keep

Cellulitis Case Study Essay
Cellulitis could be defined as an infection of the skin and tissues beneath the skin. It affects the deeper
and outer layer of the skin. The causative organisms could be staphylococcus and streptococcus or
methicillin resistant staphylococcus area (MRSA) or could be as a result of other types of bacteria like
pneumococcus or clostridium. (Medicinenet.com). Based on the given objective and subjective data,
Ms. G. has a non purulent cellulitis with the following cardinal signs and symptoms; pain, swelling,

The Bushwick Collective is the best collective in NYC. It is an experience once you walk out the train

The Power Of Master And Slaves In The Antebellum Period
Throughout the Antebellum Period, masters and slaves had a relationship similar to an owner and a
piece of equipment today. Society viewed slaves as objects and the legal system viewed slaves as
property of their owners. In State v. Mann, a case in which John Mann shot and injured Elizabeth
Jones slave, Lydia. Mann had hired Lydia for a year. Judge Ruffin wrote, The power of the master
must be absolute, render the submission of the slave perfect. This shows that planters believed that
violence and complete power was the key to maintaining slavery, but rather this ideology accelerated
slave resistance and Northern abolitionism, ultimately leading up to emancipation. The extent to
which slave owners oppressed their slaves made it inevitable that slaves would attempt an escape or
openly revolt against their masters, as well as spark abolitionist ideas in the North.
The legal system saw slaves as property, as opposed to human which made it easy for slave owners to
punish their slaves however they pleased. In State v. Mann, the North Carolina Supreme Court ruled
that owners had full ownership over a slave and couldn t be guilty of punishing them in any way. In
Judge Ruffin s quote, The power of the master must be absolute, to render the submission of the slave
perfect, we can see that white planters thought the solution to preserve slavery was by shifting the
power dynamic between slaves and masters completely to the masters side. Although John Mann
injured the slave beyond

Thomas Book Report
Towards the end of the book, we find out that all of the Gladers were named after famous geniuses
(Dashner 303). W.I.C.K.E.D. did this to relate each of the kids to a smart namesake. When I read this,
I wondered if this somehow had a deeper meaning. Did the Creators give names out randomly or did
they match up each Glader with a name that fit their personality? THOMAS Thomas was named after
the late, great Thomas Edison. I realized that both of them share common traits. Thomas (Tom)

Thomas was so crucial to finding the Cure, they gave him a name that meant something. Like Edison,
Tom questioned why things were the way they were. As Tom becomes more involved in Maze, and

How Loss And Death Affect The Lyric And Sonnet
This source discussed the sonnet and lyric (the basis of my project.) It states that a lyric is the genre of
internal and individualized emotions. It s seen as a moment of personal experience. (33) The
traditional emotion that is associated with the sonnet is love. Both the lyric and the sonnet are
connected with song and music. I want to go more in depth on how loss and death can affect the lyric
and sonnet as well, without going into elegy land. This source was very informative on the basics of a
sonnet and a lyric such as how the sonnet has a twist and the lyric is more problematic than one would
think. What more goes into a lyric then? (MAYBE) The approach this source is taking is showing the
ways a sonnet represents and doesn t represent a lyric. How exactly are they different and the same?
Sonnets are a lyric because of the emotional base put into them. It mentions that in the Romantic
peiord, sonnets were not blank verse and strayed from the conventional form. They used everyday
language. That brings up the question as to how did that incorporate into Keats sonnets? This source
also begs the question, which I agree with, who determines when something is a lyric or a sonnet?
(28) The lyric was something that could be private or social. What made a sonnet more intimate
between reader and poet (though many sonnets were published in newspapers, especially during the
Romantic period.) The length can prove to be a problem for sonnets is an issue that this source

Essay Manual vs Automatic Transmission
Manual vs. Automatic Transmission
You want to get a new car, but you are not sure whether to get one with an automatic transmission or
one with a manual transmission. Well read on and perhaps this essay will help you out with your
decision. Cars have played a big role in my life. When I was a little kid my dad and I used to work on
his 197? Ford Granada. Every time something would go wrong with the car he would ask me to help
him fix it. Not because I knew much about cars, because I didn t know anything about the subject, but
because he wanted me to learn about cars and spend some time with me. Or maybe he just didn t want
me to get ripped off at a garage when something went wrong with my car. Either way, we spent a lot
of time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Automatic transmissions, however, do not have this problem; they do not roll back on hills. A benefit
of manual transmissions is acceleration. Cars with manual transmissions accelerate more rapidly and
evenly than automatic transmissions, if you know exactly when to shift. Automatic transmissions
accelerate a little slower. One very important con on automatic transmissions is that it gives much
lesser mileage. Manual transmissions do not use any power from the engine to change gears, because
you do that your self, thus saving you money. Another advantage on a car with a manual transmission
is that, if your battery dies, you do not need jumper cables and an additional car. All you have to do to
start up a car, with a manual transmission and a battery failure, is to push it to a reasonable speed
(walking speed) and then jump in and start the vehicle.
The manual gearbox just gives you a lot more control over your car. Like safermotoring.co.uk says, on
one of their reports, Many veteran drivers who have experience of both types of transmission systems
insist that a vehicle with a manual gearbox is safer because it gives them more control. I mean I don t
know about you, but for me the more control I have over my car the better. Another con on automatic
transmissions is that they are just boring to drive. I may be a little bias, because of the simple fact that
I like manual transmissions a lot better than automatics, but statistics never lie.

To make the circuit cold , what do you need to do? WHY?
Answer:
To make the circuit cold we have to adjust the voltage, because the v is proportional to i the current,
which is proportional to the temperature.
7. Describe the relationship between voltage and temperature.
Answer:
The higher the voltage, the hotter the temperature will be.

Resistance in a Wire :
1. In this sim, what variables are you seeing? Write the formula below, and indicate the units used to
measure each one.
Answer:
The variables been shown in the simulater are the voltage, current, and ressistance. V(volts) =
I(Ampers)* R(Ohms).
2. Try increasing the resistivity of the resistor, ρ. How does this change the look of the resistor?
Describe how that relates to the formula you just wrote (direct, indirect relationships, etc.). What
happens to the value of R (Resistance)? Is this something that can be changed in a resistor that you
would buy in a store to use in a circuit?
Answer:
Increasing the resistivity the resistor gets bigger, which directly effects the current by making it
smaller. Indirectly the voltage to push the current through has to be stronger to push the current
through. The value of R gets larger, you can change the resistance, but you would have to change out
the resistor element to do this.

Ballet Shot Analysis
Following this long shot we are shown a close up shot of Nina s foot, during this shot Nina is
practicing a fouetté. The purpose of this shot is to convey to the viewer how much pressure Nina is
placing on her body, in particular, her feet. A lot of ballet in danced en pointe (on the tip of a person s
toes), this sort of pressure can be detrimental to one s physical well being. A lot of members in the
audience will have prior knowledge of how painful and strenuous it can be to place all of your body
weight on just your toes, thus reinforcing to the audience the large amount of pressure Nina is forcing
upon herself.
The audience can also see the scuff marks on the floor, this effectively demonstrates just how much
time Nina dedicates to practicing at home. As an audience, we generally know from personal
experience and exposure that this is what wood looks like after it has been scratched and used
excessively. From this the audience is able to interpret the extent to which this area has been used.

intense and prolonged these practices really are. This reaffirms the idea of obsession to the audience,

Is The Vice President s Comments About Cost And Schedule...
1. Are the vice president s comments about cost and schedule variance correct?
Yes! As we have seen in the case study the Spokane industries are very particular about the earned
value reports, as we seen in the reports that the Franklin electronics provided is seemed to be a very
basic according their view. The values of cost variance at the 2nd month are like 6K, 2K, 3K, 3K, here
the total comes to 14k ($14,000) and the same cost variance in the following month are presented as
7K, 3K, 5K, 10K ($25,000) respectively, so here we can see that the values that were provided in the
2nd month are less than 3/4th of the 3rd month. Comes to the scheduling variance the values given to
the 2nd month are said to be 8K, 1K, 2K, 20K ($31,000), the 3rd month calculations are in the order
12K, 3K, 4K, 26K ($45,000), so by seeing this we can easily say that the scheduling variance is
overrated nearly 50% of its value in the previous month. So, whatever the sponsor said in the case
study is true.
I hope their main aim for the need of these earned value reports is to reduce the interchange meetings
and to finish the project within the basic 3 constraints of a project management. That is why they
opted a formalized project management. From the case study it is very easy for us to make sure that
they believed earned value reports are some techniques to avoid the interchange meetings. The
reduction in interchange meetings automatically reduces time for discussing the completed work

Qin Shi Huang Case Study
Qin Shi Huang was the first Emperor of China from 221 207 B.C. He was the founder of the Qin
dynasty. During his rule he ordered the construction of the Great Wall which was designed and built to
protect against invasions. Even though the Great Wall seems like a massive building project, and is
considered one of the Ancient Wonders of the World, the mausoleum he had built was far more
detailed than the Great Wall.
In March of 1974 located approximately 20 miles east of the Chinese city of Xi an, local farmers were
digging a well in a field. They stumbled upon a large pit which led to the discovery of over 6,000 life
size terra cotta statues. After researching they learned that the site they had discovered was the burial
place of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, and excavations began almost immediately.
The Emperor survived 3 separate assassination attempts, and was constantly looking for a way to live
forever. In his attempts to find a forever life, he regularly sent groups of men and women out to sea to
search for and explore a land where people lived forever. Eventually he gave in to the realization that
he would more than likely not live forever. Having understood this, he ordered that an elaborate tomb
be built. Thinking that if he had to die, he wanted his afterlife to be comfortable and lavish. The
mausoleum he had built turned out to be the largest burial ground in the world, the army of 6,000 life

The Catholic Church During The Middle Ages And Through The...
Beginning in the Middle Ages and through the seventeenth centuries, witch trials occurred in Europe.
Many people were accused of being witches some of these people were accused of being witches for
not following Christian beliefs at that time and others followed witch prosecutions for goods and
money. Furthermore, the stereotypes of witches at this period also had a role in causing witch
prosecutions. In this essay I argue how these three components led to the death of so called witches.
Firstly, I will discuss how the Catholic Church had an impact on most prosecutions. Secondly, I will
explain how social stereotypes of that period have also influenced with the causes of prosecution of
many alleged witches. Thirdly, I will discuss how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is important to understand the meaning of witchcraft to be able to identify what caused the massive
witch hunt in Europe. During the medieval to the early modern period witchcraft was identified as the
practice of harmful, black or maleficent magic caused by a witch (Levack, 1987, p. 4). They also
describe them as evildoers that associate with the Devil, kidnap children, and murder others. These
accusations were untrue rumors made by the Catholic Church to promote Christianity and punish
those who did not follow the church beliefs. (Levack, 1987, p. 7)
Furthermore, Witches were commonplace all over the world with different stigmas and stereotypes
attached to them from each respectful culture that contained them (Girard, 1986). It was not until the
rise of the Catholic Church that witches soon became associated with black magic and the Devil,
leading to mass prosecutions. In the Middle Ages there was a popular belief that demons walked the
Earth, leaving disease and devastation in their wake. The church, feeling threatened by the ideologies
of Witchcraft, decided to link the old Pagan religion with that of Satanism (Levack, 1987). By doing
so, they were able to gather favor from the masses by taking advantage of the fear of the Devil by the
public and using it to prosecute those who

AAmethyst Night It was late afternoon, a tuscan sunset Idyllwild ablaze as it neared dusk. With doors

the door suddenly burst open, hitting the snowy peach walls with a resounding thud. That will leave a

as well as eyes containing terror and confusion. Chasing after her, I frantically tried to think of rational
reasons for her to be in this state of distress. She was one to overreact but this seemed real. As I caught

Beowulf is a great book to read if you are interested in the differences between dark and light inside of

The Ethics Of The English Marine Insurance System
1. Introduction
While in recent years, more and more self help motivational books or websites may be encouraging an
All or Nothing attitude towards life in general, one would indisputably agree that when an assured is
taking up a policy, in this context, a Marine Policy, one is trying to protect against risks of the
unknown, and definitely not signing up for a All or Nothing lottery game. However, two judgments in
the English Courts for rules on proximate causation, particularly cases with a combination of perils to
be considered, seemed to suggest the notion of Do you feel lucky today? thus raising doubts on the
justice of the rules on proximate causation in the English marine insurance system.
Hence, this paper aims to discuss in greater depth the reasoning and outcome of the two judgments i.e.
the judgment of the Court of Appeal in The Miss Jay Jay [1987] 1 Lloyd s Rep 32, and of the Supreme
Court judgment in The Cendor MOPU [2011] 1 Lloyd s Rep. 560, to see if they are an arguably
sufficient justification for the view that the English marine insurance system rules on proximate
causation should be repealed and replaced by a system similar to that used in the Nordic Marine
Insurance Plan.
2. Proximate Causation
2.1 Predominant or Efficient Cause
The concept of proximate causation has a critical role in Marine Insurance Law. A connection between
the covered perils and the loss is required to determine causation and therefore liability.

The Wages For Equal Wages
Mind the (Pay) Gap Men in Travis Country, and all over the United States, are almost always paid
higher wages than their female coworkers for doing the same work. Women have been fighting for
equal rights and equal pay since the 19th century and it is about time women and men doing the same
job are paid the same amount. The solution to this is simple: pay women and men equal wages for
equal work. This would seem to be common sense, but it is still something we are fighting for. Census
data shows median yearly income for men in Travis County is approximately $10,000 higher than for
women (kxan.com). Freda Bryson, a Texas State doctoral student and equal pay advocate said, When I
go to buy food or groceries, I don t get a woman s discount, I pay the same thing as a male pays. So
why shouldn t my wages be the same? This quote should send a message: by paying women less than
men, many women simply cannot afford the same basic living expenses as men can. One in four
households with children is headed by a single woman (austincf.org). If a single mom is making
significantly less than a man doing the same work, it is almost impossible to provide a child with a life
above the poverty level. Many women in Travis County are living more than 100% below the line of
poverty, and over half of these women have children to take care of as well. How can you take care of
a child if you cannot even afford to take care of yourself? The gender pay gap is unacceptable and

Answering these basic questions may summarize much of the information regarding Quasar.
What is the definition of a quasar? When radio telescopes were first turned on the heavens, point
sources of radio waves were discovered (along with spread out regions of emission along our Milky
Way). Astronomers using ordinary visible light telescopes turned toward these radio points and looked
to see what was there. In some cases a supernova remnant was found, in others, a large star birth
region, in others a distant galaxy. But in some places where point sources of radio waves were found,
no visible source other than a stellar looking object was found (it looked like a point of a star).
These objects were called the quasi stellar radio sources or quasars for short. Later, it was found these
sources could not be stars in our galaxy, but must be very far away as far as any of the distant galaxies
seen. We now think these objects are the very bright centers of some distant galaxies, where some sort
of energetic action is occurring, most probably due to the presence of a supermassive black hole at the
center of that galaxy.

Types Of Communications And Establishing A Standard Format...
integrating the different cultures. It will come as no surprise the communication style at each of the
organizations need to be clearly identified. The two groups coming together could have very different
styles of communicating to not only staff but customers as well. One organization may use electronic
communication means as the main way they communicate within the organization. Maybe most of the
communication is done via email instead of direct conversation. Where another company may prefer
having direct communication face to face or via the telephone. As you can see, this could create a
significant challenge for both organizations because as they merge they will become frustrated or
could even misinterpret an email whereas the staff that is meeting face to face may feel neglected or

final part of the chapter (vs. 15 28) are about the interpretations of his visions. In the first section,
Daniel has a vision of four beasts. These beasts appear in the form of different animals. The first beast,
was like a lion and had eagle s wings, represented Babylon. This image brings the reader back to the
time of Babylonian captivity. The second beast, was like a bear, represented the Medes. The third
beast, was like a winged leopard, represented the Persians. The fourth and final beast represented the
Greeks. This beast ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An angel explains to Daniel what the four beasts represent. Daniel is visibly worried about these
beasts and is told that the fourth beast will be overcome by the Most High. The beast will be judged
and will be put away. The temporary kingdom set up by this beast will be conquered by the everlasting
kingdom. For the people reading Daniel, they saw the faith of him and his friends in the earlier
chapters. These stories reinforce the idea of having faith under great persecution. Daniel would not
give in to the oppressors, and that is what the people under the Greek oppression are being called to do
as well. They must not change their customs, simply because they are told to. They must not bow
down to other Gods. This chapter, and the whole book is a call to those people. The readers are able to
see Daniel rewarded for doing what he knows is right in the eyes of the Lord. The people are also able
to see that there will eventually be an end to all their suffering. This gives them hope for a future. God
will judge their oppressors. This hope alludes not only to the people living right now but to future
times. The hope would bring the people to think about the nation of Israel overcoming the oppressors
with the help of people like the

The Rise Of The People s Republic Of China
The rise of the People s Republic of China (China) in today s world has evolved into a new reality. In
this essay, it will be noted that although China is increasing its prominence in international politics,
China will not be a dominant global actor in the near future. In this evaluation, the phrase dominant
global actor will be defined, and the parameters for near future will be set to the next two decades
from now. This essay will then outline examples on how China has increased its presence to affirm its
increasing prominence in international politics before considering the many arguments that will show
why China will not be a dominant global actor in the near future. A dominant global actor is defined as

This supports the concept that the US is an example of a dominant global actor that has competencies
to exercise their influence and power internationally. Throughout the essay, China s material and
ideational powers will be compared to the US s material and ideational powers to prove that although
China is increasingly prominent in international politics, it will not be a dominant global actor like the
US in the near future.
China has been swiftly revolutionizing its military strength and have racked in persistent growths in
defence expenditures. In 2014, a defence budget of USD132 billion was proposed (Perlo Freeman
2014). This was a staggering increase of 12.2% from the 2013 defence budget of USD117.65 billion
(Perlo Freeman 2014). Furthermore, Chipman (2013) proclaimed the Chinese s People s Liberation
Army (PLA) to constitute the biggest military in the world. Chipman (2013) also enforced that China s
defence budgets is larger than that defence budgets of Taiwan, South Korea and Japan jointly, and that
its budgets may exceed the US defence budgets in 2025. Moreover, China has intensified their
participation in the United Nations (UN) peacekeeping operations and has troops stationed in Haiti,
Liberia, and Sudan (Gill 2009). These statistics of the PLA s size, military spending and their active

American Schools
American Schools in Crisis American schools have a big problem on their hands and that would be
keeping kids in the classroom. Year after year students are failing to graduate and deciding to drop out
of school. The reasons for this are far and in between, but actions need to be taken so that this no
longer happens. Staying in school is the only way to success unless you are extremely lucky. Higher
levels of education can only help you in your future. As little fun as school is students need to fight
their way through because there is a light at the end of the tunnel. That shining light is a bright future
with success in anything you want. The dropout rates over the years have seen little or no movement
in numbers. Students are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though these are harder situations there can still be action taken. Such action could be
implementing learning programs in these schools. For example, in these schools they can have special
programs for underachieving students. They can have classes dedicated to just students that have
difficulty learning. In these classes they would have teachers that work at a slower pace so that they all
can understand. They can also have AP classes to help students earn some credits for college. Also
another big problem in these types of schools is attendance. Many kids would much rather stay home
or on the streets getting into trouble. But if they reward these students for attending class much more
of them would decide to come to, school. Even if they are only getting a few points here and there,
they would show up. The goal of teachers should be to help students pass and want to come to school
not just barely squeeze. Making changes in these lower level high schools will help the improvement
of these very poor graduation rates. Another thing to help students graduate is to balance out the
schools systems. These days there are high schools that only accept well educated students. There is
no problem in this; however they should not accept students so easily. If all the smart students attend
these private schools then all of the less smart kids will be forced to attend worse institutions. Granted,
not all smart students can afford to attend these private

Persuasive Essay On Donating Children
Having a child can be one of the most exciting experiences for a parent. However, bringing a child
into the world can also be a very scary experience. Every parent s wish is to have a healthy baby, but
sadly this is not always a reality. When a child is born with a disease the whole dynamic of a family
changes, doctor visits and medication become the new norm. Sometimes families are even faced with
the difficult decision of life or death for their child, which can only be cured by using donations from
a close match. Depending on the person, the likelihood of finding your perfect match from the donor
list can be slim. With that having been said, many parents turn to the decision of conceiving another
child to be the donor for their already living ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are many people who are opposed to conceiving a child to be used as a donor, so it is important
we acknowledge their oppositions. There are three main points against the conception of children for
the use of stem cell donations. The first is explained by Elaine R. Morgan, from an article titled
Having a child to save a sibling, the emotional endangerment of the child because of the motivation
for its conception. (Morgan, ET.AL, 1). Morgan brings up a very valid point, often times the child who
is donating begins donations from birth. As a very young donor, the child may not fully understand the
procedures. It is also a very heavy concept to weigh on a child, that their sibling could die without
their help. Jennifer P. D Auria adds to Morgans findings on emotional endangerment of a child, in an
article titled Through the eyes of young sibling donors, she described children remembering immense
pressure and emotions they felt to be that perfect match . Although it can be extremely taxing on a
child to have life or death weighing on them, D Auria assessed 44 children and majority felt there was
no question in whether or not they wanted to step up to save their sibling, To me there was no choice.
It was you can either have a brother or you cannot have a brother. That was my choice . Morgan and D
Auria can both agree that there are emotional risks when going through a procedure like this, there is
no guarantee that it will work so if it didn t the child may certainly be emotionally unstable. But what
D Auria explains through the research with many patients, is that the child willingly wants to help
their sibling, they would do anything for them. Every medical procedure has risks and as medical
technology continues to advance, the risk of procedures has been decreasing. When Morgan claims
that children

Persuasive Speech On Whaling
Known for being the main attraction at SeaWorld, whales are often admired by tourists and locals.
Some may call whales fish, but they aren t, whales are considered mammals due to the fact that they
breathe air. They re apart of the group called Cetaceans which also includes dolphins and porpoises
and they can be found throughout many oceans. We hardly shed light on commercial whaling because
it doesn t seem to affect us as humans; however, knowing that we could be the solution to this problem
may change many views on this horrid topic. Whales have many different species, but the biggest of
them all is the Blue Whale weighing in at about 150 tons and growing up to 110 feet long. The earliest
record of whaling as an organized business is dated about 875 , these aquatic mammals have been
hunted for thousands of years now. In the 20th century, they often hunted whales for their blubber, oil
and wax, most of which were important ingredients for many things like soap, lamps and lipstick. A
list of endangered species includes whales such as, Bowhead whales, Gray whales, Blue whales,
Humpback whales, Right whales, Sei whales, Beluga whales, Finback whales, Sperm whales, etc. Not
only has whaling, the act of killing whales for their resources, affected the list of endangered species,
but so has the loss of their territory. Certain species like the Beluga have become endangered due to
the loss of habitat as mankind has corrupted their territory.
Whaling started off with the crewman on a ship rowing themselves in a separate boat towards the
whale. Once they were close enough, they would throw a harpoon attached to a long rope and impale
the whale. The long rope was necessary to tire out the whale as it tried to swim away, dragging it back
and killing it with lances. But times have changed and so has technology, in today s society, the
weapons they used before have improved drastically. The harpoons are mechanically propelled
meaning, they explode on impact. Whales that were too fast for the hunters are now subjects to kill.
The International Whaling Commission (IWC), has changed commercial whaling since it was created
in the 1940s. If commercial whaling were to go unchecked, unregulated hunting of whales would ve

To Kill A Mockingbird Psychology
One of the most renowned elements of entertainment was the theatre. Getting the chance to see a
movie was a great experience not easily forgotten. In the book To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee,
Dill, a small child, is able to see the movie Dracula. Shortly after seeing the movie he runs away from
home, and knowing that his friends understand his love of the movies, he tells Jim, a close friend,
Think they re still searchin all the picture shows in Meridian. Dill grinned (140). A level of pride is
developed in Dill when he can gloat to everyone that he has watched a picture show. For the more
mature audience during the Dust Bowl Era, attending a movie was a simple diversion. Claire Ellerton

Giving In To Kill A Mockingbird
The definition of giving is to present voluntarily and without expecting compensation; bestow. There
is something powerful in giving, and there is something powerful in receiving. We can t have giving
without receiving. We can t have receiving without giving. They both require each other. But giving
has a different meaning than others would expect. Giving is something you do for someone you
admire or care about. It s showing that person how much they mean to you. It doesn t matter if you
give lots or little. What matters most is the thought. In the book To Kill a Mockingbird, Boo Radley is
stereotyped as a monster, a beast, and a freak. People said he ate dead animals, his teeth were yellow,
his eyes popped, and he drooled all the time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She goes from being an innocent and naïve little girl, to being a strong and brave young lady. She
begins by showing a greater depth of understanding about other townspeople. Towards the end she
loses much of her innocence due mostly to the trial of Tom Robinson. She witnessed and learned so
much from it and it helped her tremendously. She understands more about life and people. The biggest
thing she saw and learned was how cruel people can be when they are racist and bigots. Throughout
the course of tbe book she also learned about other peoples thoughts and feelings. She finds this out by
seeing how nice of a man Boo Radley is at the end of the novel. At the very end of the book when
Scout says of Boo Radley: ... neighbors give in return. We never put back into the tree what we took
out of it: we had given him nothing, and it made me sad it made me realize that this was the immature
Scout coming out of her. She was finally able to put herself into other peoples shoes and think about
their feelings, but she wasn t putting that to use now. In her mind, she felt bad about it and thought
they didn t give him anything in return. But in all reality, they did give him the things I mentioned
earlier. This comment definitely comes from the child Scout narrator. A child would think that Boo
received no material objects from the Finches, but an older and more mature person would realize that
Boo received new friends and the joy and pleasure of helping someone who needed it. Scout also
doesn t realize how much this would help Boo in the future. As a child, Scout would feel so bad, but
as an adult, Scout feels so helpful. For once, Boo wasn t a scary monster; he was a real human to the

Teaching Alternative Behavior
DeRosa, Roane, Doyle and McCarthy conducted a 2013 study on the use of alternative behaviors to
target different behaviors within the same response class. Swearing, talking out and yelling can all be
considered part of the same response class that are used as a method to gain attention from others.
Through the use of differential reinforcement, the students can be taught to produce more appropriate
methods of obtaining the desired responses. According to DeRosa, et al (2013), this method of
teaching alternative responding has been proven effective in decreasing the likelihood of more severe
behaviors from occurring. In this study, the alternative behavior was prompted by the use of a visual
cue, which was a red card being placed on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Data is being sent to the BCBA at the end of the school day by his teacher on Mondays, Wednesdays
and Fridays, and on the same days by his parents after Joey has gone to bed for the evening. The data
is being collected by recording the antecedent, behavior and consequence (ABC) for the occurrence of
swearing. Swearing is operationally defined as the use of any form of inappropriate language that is
said out loud by Joey. A premade data sheet as been made and distributed to his teacher and his
parents. The data sheet was explained and allowed for the teacher and parents to check the appropriate
box that fit the situation. Each person was trained on how to collect data, and the importance of being
honest and accurate was discussed.
Intervention evaluation The reduction of the problem behavior will be monitored to see if there is a
decrease in swearing and an increase in the use of the replacement behavior. If there is a not a
noticeable change in behavior over the course of two weeks, then the procedure will be reevaluated
and the intervention will be altered. Possible alterations that could be made would be for an additional
cue to be provided on the prompt card that had the phrase on it that was to be said. The phrases would
be intermixed and delivered upon any outward, visible sign of frustration such as tears, clenched fists

Why Is Population Control Wrong
The idea of population control is one that ignites people to talk about and explore. Some countries
have implemented population control for quite some time now. There are many attributes that go
against the argument, but there are also some potential positives that could come from it. No matter
what religion or background people come from, each person has their own view on if population
control is right or wrong. Many people choose to see certain positives over the negatives while others
look at things the other way around. One of biggest and controversial topics within population control
is issues of the environment.
The environmental gain of population control shows that there are many positives to this regulation.
With an ever increasing population, scientists are not sure that the earth can provide for the growing
population. Humanity has been the sole reason for air pollution and population control is a way to
curb that. Because having clean air is one of the basic demands of human health and prosper, having
clean air for generations to come is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If population control were put into place it would limit the diversity and essentially shrink the gene
pool. If any population were to be control, the lack of diversity would a main issue of debate.
Diversity matters because it means that we value the difference in everyone around us, and not just
one type of person. Population control would take that and completely abolish and tell people which
kind of person is the right kind of person. Diversity is also a good thing because it gives people a
chance to experience different attributes of each other, and broaden their norms. Diversity gives us the
opportunity to learn from people who view things differently and population control would suppress
that. Diversity teaches us to respect one another and to learn from one another, population control
teaches us the

Essay on Exegesis of Matthew
Exegesis of the Gospel according to Matthew Chapter 5:3 12
The Eight Beatitudes
In Matthew s Gospel, starting with Chapter five verses three through twelve, Jesus tells us of the Eight
Beatitudes. These verses are much like The Ten Commandments in nature, but more philosophical:
· Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
· Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
· Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the Earth.
· Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
· Blessed are those who are merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
· Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
· Blessed are the peacemakers, for they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The beatitudes are just a sample of the many teachings that this book has to offer. The text itself
written by Matthew, one of Jesus disciples, does coincide with the beatitudes written by another of
Jesus disciples; Luke. Only Luke writes the beatitudes a little differently than Matthew. One example
of the differences is in the first beatitude where Matthew writes, Blessed are the poor in spirit where
as Luke recorded Jesus as saying only, Blessed are the poor By annexing in spirit Luke suggests that
only the monetarily poor belong in God s kingdom, where Matthew seems to state that material status
or social poverty alone are not the standards for faith. All throughout the beatitudes there seems to be
the theme that it does not matter what is on the outside, but God sees and is only concerned with the
inside of his children. Their hearts and their souls. It doesn t appear God cares much for material
wealth or success in the world, but more so for what is in mans heart. Luke suggests ‘the poor should
be monetarily poor, and if they have any wealth they should give it all up to those more needy to give
glory to God. Money and wealth may be seen by some as a sign of being in God s favor with darker
signs and adversity a sign of some sort of punishment. Which should not be the case at all, Matthew
seems to add in spirit more to identify wealth and social status is not the standard by which God will
judge. Money and wealth do have an

  • 2. Marketing Strategy Of Domino s Pizza Domino s Pizza: A strategy to enter the Czech food service market Introduction Domino s Pizza is among America s favourite pizza chains and, although it ranked below well known chains such as Papa John s and Pizza Ranch, the company still managed to have a slightly higher loyalty score than its closest competitor Pizza Hut. Founded in 1960 by Tom Monaghan and his brother James in the city of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Domino s experience a rapid growth and open its first international restaurant in the early eighties and reached the number of more than 1000 stores worldwide at the end of Nineties; the aim of the company, indeed, is the constant growth, as it is declared in the mission statement: we want to be the number one . Almost half of Domino s Pizza stores are located in the United States where consumers spend around $25 billion each year on pizza delivery and take away (monthly visitors to the chain have been increasing for at least five years, reaching 21 million in the spring of 2016) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The company continued to invest in technology that enhances the convenience in ordering, preparation, and delivery, all aspects of the modern foodservice experience that consumers in all world markets increasingly prefer; their vision, in fact, is to be the best pizza delivery in the world . Pizza sales in 2014 2015 were buoyed by strong growth in Italy, India, Argentina, Brazil, the UK and the US. Domino s Pizza has unlocked this potential in India, a key growth market and Domino s largest international market to date, but has struggled to find similar success in China and Brazil, where it trails chief competitor Pizza Hut. Domino s specifically leads the world in HDTA (Home Delivery and Takeaway) with 9.4% of the global market in 2015 and 20.9% of chained operators. This can be attributed to the company s domestic performance in the US, where it reaps huge profits from supplying its many ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Capital Punishment Is The Ultimate Irreversible Denial For... The uptick of capital punishment in the United States keeps on being a conspicuous issue is the domain of the criminal justice system. Capital punishment is a matter in which numerous people contradict and challenge as it a contemporary type of the death penalty. There have been numerous studies attempting to demonstrate or object a point in regards to capital punishment. Some have viewed capital punishment as a deterrent, which is the utilization of discipline as a danger to deflect individuals from offending. Capital punishment has been credited to social orders for many years. More recently, capital punishment has been addressed to be the right stride toward equity. Over the span of this paper I will review if capital punishment is the ultimate irreversible denial for human rights, the history, the profile of the types of person put to death or sentenced, the means and methods of putting to death or sentenced to death, the issues associated with those methods, the success and failures of the death penalty, and a few historical cases. The roots of the death penalty laws can be traced back to ancient Babylonia and The Code of Hammurabi which highlighted 25 violations that were deserving of death, yet humorously murder was excluded. The death penalty, in what is presently America, was a feature of England s correctional framework that was received by the original states. The first recorded execution in the British American Colonies was in the Jamestown Colony in 1608. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Great Rift Valley Of Kenya And Tanzania Their highly energetic and athletic style of dancing, tall stature as well as their signature bright red clothing are just some of the unique things that define the Maasai. For many centuries, this indigenous tribe who lives in the vast open spaces of Africa s Great Rift Valley found in the countries of Kenya and Tanzania, believes that God entrusted them with the cattle. Their lifestyle reflects the natural environment in which they live in as well as the rich ritual and traditions that they have managed to preserve today. The Maasai people have a reputation of being brave, responsible and fierce. Their community has its own way of hierarchal organization where the elder men and warriors are at the top and the women and children are at the bottom. The core image Maasai people hold with respect to themselves is that of itunga ana loo ngishu which means people of cattle or entelapu meaning those who are under cattle (Galaty 4). Most of the rituals and values of the Maasai people depend on their age and the relationship of the tribe is based on a strict set of rules. The Maasai s patriarchal society, traditional rituals, and unique food system have made them unique among the other African Pastoralists. As I have previously mentioned, men are more dominant than women in the Maasai society. Maasai men are supposed to protect their homes, maintain water sources, and protect their livestock ( Maasai Tribe: True Reflection of Africa, 2013). Also, the warriors in the community have ... With all out war out of the question, President Jimmy Carter after careful consideration led a US delegation to oppose the hosting of the Olympic Games of 1980, in Moscow (Bigelow). This attempt however failed as the Olympic Organizing Committee refused to change the venue as it was so late in the organization and planning of the games. Feeling aggrieved, the US sought the support of other nations in boycotting the games. The US engaged in vigorous campaigns that involved sending emissaries to countries all over the globe to explain to them why it was critical that they boycott the games. The emissaries drew from renowned diplomats and sports personalities such as Muhammad Ali. This attempt however did fail as most nations felt hat it was great disrespect that athletes and not diplomats were sent. One such example was in the Tanzanian case; Tanzanian President Julius Nyerere was insulted an athlete was sent instead of a diplomat, and Ali, disenchanted because he was accused of being Carter s puppet, started to think of cutting himself loose from the job (Bigelow). Ultimately, the campaign managed to reel in 60 other nations in boycotting the games in Moscow. Back at home, while most supported the move to boycott the games, some felt that it was a gross injustice to the athletes that had trained vigorously for the games. The athletes themselves, though not vocal at the time, greatly suffered ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Applying Leadership Principles Paper Communication is Key: Strategies to effective leadership Chontrese Haskins Applying Leadership Principles: Research Paper: Dr. Amenyah July 31st 2016 When asked to define a leader, most would define one by naming traits such as self confidence, ambition, and determination. Although these are great qualities, this does not define a leader. A leader is someone in a position of authority who has ability to influence a group through effective communication reaching a common goal. (Robbins, DeCenzo, Coulter, 2015) Effective leaders work diligently to motive and inspire groups through their actions. • 7. How Does Natasha Romanoff Present The Russian Language In... As the first female Avenger, Natasha Romanoff s physical attractiveness and her Russian heritage have been emphasized most in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the beginning of The Avengers, she is interrogated by Russian thugs in a Russian warehouse. Donned in a short, revealing black cocktail dress, Romanoff slyly gains information from the thugs, while feigning ignorance. Thus, the film suggests that she is untrustworthy because she can easily trick others. In addition, Romanoff s spoken Russian in this scene reflects the misrepresentation of the Russian language in The Avengers. For a woman born and raised in the Soviet Russia, Natasha Romanoff has a notably American accent in comparison to the thug speaking Russian. Minor, yet explicitly antagonistic and foolish Russian characters are cast with Slavic actors who can properly speak the language, yet when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, The Avengers uses the vilified Russian identity for entertainment. Furthermore, the scene emphasizes Romanoff s characterization as a Russian beauty. During the conversation, the thug comments on Romanoff s beauty: she is just a pretty face. Romanoff appears to question this statement, with a quipped retort: You really think that I m pretty? However, the visual depiction of an ensuing fight suggests that the one of the most important components of Romanoff s characterization is her attractive face and bust. As she throws punches, including one seemingly from her bright red hair, the camera angles frame to flaunt Romanoff s upper body. The final shot of the fight features her glistening face and bust in the middle of the frame. Just as the dialogue suggests, Romanoff s physical beauty is emphasized. Therefore, being a distinctly Russian woman in The Avengers entails the highlighting of an appealing visual aesthetic, the misrepresentation of language, and an ability to trick ... • 8. Bellocq s Ophelia Analysis When one gazes at the posed risqué photos that the photographer E. J. Bellocq took during the Storyville era many questions arise as to, who the female models were, where did they work, and why? Storyville was a legalized red light district in New Orleans. Storyville was the answer to the ongoing crime problem in New Orleans back in the late eighteen to early nineteen hundreds. After the closure of Storyville, the so called embarrassment was almost wiped from history. Bellocq s photos, a couple of rundown buildings, and very few tales about Storyville are left today. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even with the progression, women in the Edwardian Era still were seen as domestic house keepers and caregivers. Women could work in factories, mines, be maids for people with sizable incomes, and on farms; however women rarely found respectable middle class jobs that allowed them financial security without getting married. In Bellocq s Ophelia, the Letter Home poem states, I walk these streets / a white woman, or so I think, until I catch the eyes / of some stranger upon me, and I must lower mine, / a negress again, (Trethewey 7). • 10. Teaching Styles Of The Nurse Educators Comparison of Teaching Styles The nurse educators are faced with the challenge of adapting their teaching styles to accommodate a new generation of learners. An effective teacher should take into account the intellectual, social, and cultural characteristics of each student, whereas the students should identify that each teacher has a unique style of teaching. As part of the classroom online teaching practicum course, I was privileged to shadow an instructor at the University of South Florida. The instructor was giving lectures on both Mondays and Wednesdays for semester 1 students and had fundamentals of nursing lab sessions on both Tuesdays and Thursdays. The teaching styles that I attended in the classroom set up were plain lectures, group discussion with flipped classroom (different instructor) whereas the teaching in the fundamentals lab were done with demonstrations on the manikins (observed various instructors demonstrating various skills). Discussion of Teaching Styles Lecture Lecturing is considered to be one of the oldest methods of teaching. Lectures need to bridge between what is in the student s mind to the structures of the contents to be learned. Therefore the systematic organization of the contents and the meaningful delivery of the lecture is very important for effective learning. The nurse should formulate lecture adapting various steps such as; plan the body of the lecture (appropriate content/relevant to the topic), provides examples ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

American citizens that had absolutely no business even thinking of buying a house flooded the market and were encouraged by greedy bankers that were out to make a profit, without thinking of the consequences or morals involved. Now the government has over stepped their boundaries and are spending this country into such deep debt, which makes one think that that light at the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train with no hope of slowing down, let alone stopping. The solution to this economic crisis is outlined in seven easy baby steps: 1. America needs to create a small emergency fund (at least a million ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Everyone could get themselves educated, which would make us all winners, and broke people would stop buying houses that they can t afford. If everyone bought houses that they could afford then there would be no more foreclosures; especially if everyone had an emergency fund to give them an alternative if something happened. If businesses weren t built on debt, especially sole proprietorships, then businesses wouldn t have to lay a bunch of people off or cut down productivity. America needs to save to help take care of her people and Americans need to take care of themselves so that we all win in the end. Lastly, America needs to build a bunch of wealth and give a bunch of it away. This concept is for the government and her people because when one gives and it becomes a habit, that person is forever changed. It reminds them that it s not all about them. It s not about getting a bunch of stuff that they can t afford to impress people that they don t even like. The original idea was to use a common production line to produce three versions of a single aircraft thereby saving money. The concept was that each version would share 70% similarities with the others. It is more cost effective to produce one aircraft with three versions vice three distinct aircraft. However, the reality as indicated in the article are that there were four factors that contributed to the Great Depression. Factors in this case refer to the areas of the economy that failed all of which led to the Great Depression. They occurred in phases and hence as opposed to the myth that it occurred as one Great, Great, Great, Great Depression, it occurred in four phases (Reed, 2012). • 24. The Power Of Master And Slaves In The Antebellum Period Throughout the Antebellum Period, masters and slaves had a relationship similar to an owner and a piece of equipment today. Society viewed slaves as objects and the legal system viewed slaves as property of their owners. In State v. Mann, a case in which John Mann shot and injured Elizabeth Jones slave, Lydia. Mann had hired Lydia for a year. Judge Ruffin wrote, The power of the master must be absolute, render the submission of the slave perfect. This shows that planters believed that violence and complete power was the key to maintaining slavery, but rather this ideology accelerated slave resistance and Northern abolitionism, ultimately leading up to emancipation. The extent to which slave owners oppressed their slaves made it inevitable that slaves would attempt an escape or openly revolt against their masters, as well as spark abolitionist ideas in the North. The legal system saw slaves as property, as opposed to human which made it easy for slave owners to punish their slaves however they pleased. In State v. Mann, the North Carolina Supreme Court ruled that owners had full ownership over a slave and couldn t be guilty of punishing them in any way. In Judge Ruffin s quote, The power of the master must be absolute, to render the submission of the slave perfect, we can see that white planters thought the solution to preserve slavery was by shifting the power dynamic between slaves and masters completely to the masters side. This source was very informative on the basics of a sonnet and a lyric such as how the sonnet has a twist and the lyric is more problematic than one would think. What more goes into a lyric then? (MAYBE) The approach this source is taking is showing the ways a sonnet represents and doesn t represent a lyric. How exactly are they different and the same? Sonnets are a lyric because of the emotional base put into them. It mentions that in the Romantic peiord, sonnets were not blank verse and strayed from the conventional form. They used everyday language. That brings up the question as to how did that incorporate into Keats sonnets? This source also begs the question, which I agree with, who determines when something is a lyric or a sonnet? (28) The lyric was something that could be private or social. Automatic transmissions, however, do not have this problem; they do not roll back on hills. A benefit of manual transmissions is acceleration. Cars with manual transmissions accelerate more rapidly and evenly than automatic transmissions, if you know exactly when to shift. Automatic transmissions accelerate a little slower. One very important con on automatic transmissions is that it gives much lesser mileage. Manual transmissions do not use any power from the engine to change gears, because you do that your self, thus saving you money. Another advantage on a car with a manual transmission is that, if your battery dies, you do not need jumper cables and an additional car. All you have to do to start up a car, with a manual transmission and a battery failure, is to push it to a reasonable speed (walking speed) and then jump in and start the vehicle. The manual gearbox just gives you a lot more control over your car. Like safermotoring.co.uk says, on one of their reports, Many veteran drivers who have experience of both types of transmission systems insist that a vehicle with a manual gearbox is safer because it gives them more control. I mean I don t know about you, but for me the more control I have over my car the better. Another con on automatic transmissions is that they are just boring to drive. I may be a little bias, because of the simple fact that I like manual transmissions a lot better than automatics, but statistics never lie. As you can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As we have seen in the case study the Spokane industries are very particular about the earned value reports, as we seen in the reports that the Franklin electronics provided is seemed to be a very basic according their view. The values of cost variance at the 2nd month are like 6K, 2K, 3K, 3K, here the total comes to 14k ($14,000) and the same cost variance in the following month are presented as 7K, 3K, 5K, 10K ($25,000) respectively, so here we can see that the values that were provided in the 2nd month are less than 3/4th of the 3rd month. Comes to the scheduling variance the values given to the 2nd month are said to be 8K, 1K, 2K, 20K ($31,000), the 3rd month calculations are in the order 12K, 3K, 4K, 26K ($45,000), so by seeing this we can easily say that the scheduling variance is overrated nearly 50% of its value in the previous month. So, whatever the sponsor said in the case study is true. I hope their main aim for the need of these earned value reports is to reduce the interchange meetings and to finish the project within the basic 3 constraints of a project management. They also describe them as evildoers that associate with the Devil, kidnap children, and murder others. • 36. Descriptive Essay On AAmethyst Night AAmethyst Night It was late afternoon, a tuscan sunset Idyllwild ablaze as it neared dusk. With doors exposing the symphony of music and chatter emanating from the common room, I stood admiring the scene before me. Chloe, a light blonde haired girl with coral cheeks a year younger than me, peeked her head into the room with pleading eyes which bore into my soul. Oh no this little freshman is a little too happy, I m guessing its another boy in her jazz band. She was desperately begging me to come with her on a walk to discuss someone at camp who she was fond of. I unenthusiastically replied yes, forfeiting the opportunity to participate in activities with fellow campers. Struggling to move from my comfortable place on the plushy couch, I told her I need to get my phone from my room. Ok, hurry and get your stuff, I m going to be on the deck she laughing replied as she repressed a grin of success. Grumbling as I grabbed my phone from my room and strolled back to the common room, the door suddenly burst open, hitting the snowy peach walls with a resounding thud. That will leave a mark. Before I can fully process who it might have been, out storms Chloe, with tear streaked cheeks as well as eyes containing terror and confusion. Chasing after her, I frantically tried to think of rational reasons for her to be in this state of distress. She was one to overreact but this seemed real. As I caught up to where she sat down carrying a heavy heart, I knew she had experienced ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The purpose of the book really tells you about how you can defeat the evil and use good in a good way to help others. As of Beowulf he used his weaknesses from evil and overcame them for good. So what the statement of the book is to really tell you that you should use good and defeat evil or darkness. For example, Quite so, said Wealhtheow. He admits his weaknesses and in admitting them they become strengths. This is no usual hero. page.29 As Beowulf had made the best of all he had, putting each imperfection to work in the service of his integrity, he had some evil in him but had more good that he used for the better. The way he used good was for not only himself but for other without being asked, like when he fought off Grendel, Grendel s Mother, and the Firedrake, later on then becoming king. I think the author s technique was to compare between the darkness of Grendel to the good in Beowulf. Also I think the author used the background of the scene of the story to get the reader s idea of how the story is to make it feel dark in some parts or light. Also when the author compares between good and bad giving each scene a lesson. For example when Beowulf killed Grendel s mother with only the bold strong good words of himself. ... • 38. The Ethics Of The English Marine Insurance System 1. Introduction While in recent years, more and more self help motivational books or websites may be encouraging an All or Nothing attitude towards life in general, one would indisputably agree that when an assured is taking up a policy, in this context, a Marine Policy, one is trying to protect against risks of the unknown, and definitely not signing up for a All or Nothing lottery game. However, two judgments in the English Courts for rules on proximate causation, particularly cases with a combination of perils to be considered, seemed to suggest the notion of Do you feel lucky today? thus raising doubts on the justice of the rules on proximate causation in the English marine insurance system. Hence, this paper aims to discuss in greater depth the reasoning and outcome of the two judgments i.e. the judgment of the Court of Appeal in The Miss Jay Jay [1987] 1 Lloyd s Rep 32, and of the Supreme Court judgment in The Cendor MOPU [2011] 1 Lloyd s Rep. 560, to see if they are an arguably sufficient justification for the view that the English marine insurance system rules on proximate causation should be repealed and replaced by a system similar to that used in the Nordic Marine Insurance Plan. 2. Proximate Causation 2.1 Predominant or Efficient Cause The concept of proximate causation has a critical role in Marine Insurance Law. • 39. The Wages For Equal Wages Mind the (Pay) Gap Men in Travis Country, and all over the United States, are almost always paid higher wages than their female coworkers for doing the same work. Women have been fighting for equal rights and equal pay since the 19th century and it is about time women and men doing the same job are paid the same amount. The solution to this is simple: pay women and men equal wages for equal work. This would seem to be common sense, but it is still something we are fighting for. Census data shows median yearly income for men in Travis County is approximately $10,000 higher than for women (kxan.com). Freda Bryson, a Texas State doctoral student and equal pay advocate said, When I go to buy food or groceries, I don t get a woman s discount, I pay the same thing as a male pays. So why shouldn t my wages be the same? This quote should send a message: by paying women less than men, many women simply cannot afford the same basic living expenses as men can. One in four households with children is headed by a single woman (austincf.org). If a single mom is making significantly less than a man doing the same work, it is almost impossible to provide a child with a life above the poverty level. Many women in Travis County are living more than 100% below the line of poverty, and over half of these women have children to take care of as well. Answering these basic questions may summarize much of the information regarding Quasar. What is the definition of a quasar? When radio telescopes were first turned on the heavens, point sources of radio waves were discovered (along with spread out regions of emission along our Milky Way). Astronomers using ordinary visible light telescopes turned toward these radio points and looked to see what was there. In some cases a supernova remnant was found, in others, a large star birth region, in others a distant galaxy. But in some places where point sources of radio waves were found, no visible source other than a stellar looking object was found (it looked like a point of a star). These objects were called the quasi stellar radio sources or quasars for short. Later, it was found these sources could not be stars in our galaxy, but must be very far away as far as any of the distant galaxies seen. We now think these objects are the very bright centers of some distant galaxies, where some sort of energetic action is occurring, most probably due to the presence of a supermassive black hole at the center of that galaxy. It will come as no surprise the communication style at each of the organizations need to be clearly identified. The two groups coming together could have very different styles of communicating to not only staff but customers as well. One organization may use electronic communication means as the main way they communicate within the organization. Maybe most of the communication is done via email instead of direct conversation. Where another company may prefer having direct communication face to face or via the telephone. As you can see, this could create a significant challenge for both organizations because as they merge they will become frustrated or could even misinterpret an email whereas the staff that is meeting face to face may feel neglected or ignored because they are not having direct interactions. Identifying the different types of communications and establishing a standard format that meets the needs of the employees without comprising the effectiveness of the message must be one of the first steps when integrating multiple cultures. The second fundamental challenge is conflict resolution within organizations. Just as each entity has its own way of communicating so are their approaches to conflict resolution. There are many people who are opposed to conceiving a child to be used as a donor, so it is important we acknowledge their oppositions. There are three main points against the conception of children for the use of stem cell donations. The first is explained by Elaine R. Morgan, from an article titled Having a child to save a sibling, the emotional endangerment of the child because of the motivation for its conception. (Morgan, ET.AL, 1). Morgan brings up a very valid point, often times the child who is donating begins donations from birth. As a very young donor, the child may not fully understand the procedures. It is also a very heavy concept to weigh on a child, that their sibling could die without their help. Jennifer P. D Auria adds to Morgans findings on emotional endangerment of a child, in an article titled Through the eyes of young sibling donors, she described children remembering immense pressure and emotions they felt to be that perfect match . Although it can be extremely taxing on a child to have life or death weighing on them, D Auria assessed 44 children and majority felt there was no question in whether or not they wanted to step up to save their sibling, To me there was no choice. It was you can either have a brother or you cannot have a brother. That was my choice . Morgan and D Auria can both agree that there are emotional risks when going through a procedure like this, there is no guarantee that it will work so if it didn t the child may certainly be emotionally unstable. But what D Auria explains through the research with many patients, is that the child willingly wants to help their sibling, they would do anything for them. Some may call whales fish, but they aren t, whales are considered mammals due to the fact that they breathe air. They re apart of the group called Cetaceans which also includes dolphins and porpoises and they can be found throughout many oceans. We hardly shed light on commercial whaling because it doesn t seem to affect us as humans; however, knowing that we could be the solution to this problem may change many views on this horrid topic. Whales have many different species, but the biggest of them all is the Blue Whale weighing in at about 150 tons and growing up to 110 feet long. The earliest record of whaling as an organized business is dated about 875 , these aquatic mammals have been hunted for thousands of years now. In the 20th century, they often hunted whales for their blubber, oil and wax, most of which were important ingredients for many things like soap, lamps and lipstick. A list of endangered species includes whales such as, Bowhead whales, Gray whales, Blue whales, Humpback whales, Right whales, Sei whales, Beluga whales, Finback whales, Sperm whales, etc. Not only has whaling, the act of killing whales for their resources, affected the list of endangered species, but so has the loss of their territory. Certain species like the Beluga have become endangered due to the loss of habitat as mankind has corrupted their territory. Whaling started off with the crewman on a ship rowing themselves in a separate boat towards the whale. Once they were close enough, they would throw a harpoon attached to a long rope and impale the whale. The long rope was necessary to tire out the whale as it tried to swim away, dragging it back and killing it with lances. But times have changed and so has technology, in today s society, the weapons they used before have improved drastically. The harpoons are mechanically propelled meaning, they explode on impact. Whales that were too fast for the hunters are now subjects to kill. The International Whaling Commission (IWC), has changed commercial whaling since it was created in the 1940s. One example of the differences is in the first beatitude where Matthew writes, Blessed are the poor in spirit where as Luke recorded Jesus as saying only, Blessed are the poor By annexing in spirit Luke suggests that only the monetarily poor belong in God s kingdom, where Matthew seems to state that material status or social poverty alone are not the standards for faith.
