to change my mind at the last minute and switch over to blogging so I could write
articles instead of a novel?
Yes, that was me, and I have a blog to prove. I did write over 20,000 words all
together in 30 days, but not a novel, which, after all, is the purpose of the contest. It
did prove to me that I could turn out that many words, and maybe that has something
to do with my new resolution to really write a novel in 2016.

a sense of growing up with Doodle and Brother, since the story ranges through a
number of years. Flashback lets the reader know that Doodle is no longer alive, lets
them be empathetic, and the atmosphere of the narrator talking about his past
experiences as a child leads one to believe his lesson being taught. Therefore,
flashback adds a special element of trust, since the reader is aware of about the
character s past, personal emotions, and regrets.

However, interrupting someone in the middle of his speech would be
something a person with gentillesse would be hesitant to do. The arguments
that the Franklin s actions were rescuing the Squire from an awkward
predicament (Specht 154) in which his tale was threatening to go on far
too long point out that in such a scenario the Franklin s actions would be
a masterpiece of tact (Spearing, 7). I would argue with this theory for
two reasons. First of all, the Squire gives no indication he wishes to be
rescued. In his tale at the end of telling of Canace and the magic ring,
he proceeds to say he will tell how the other three gifts affected the
lives of other characters. Clearly the Squire could have cut his story
short then if he had been so inclined. Therefore I do not think it is fair
to claim the Franklin was rescuing the Squire. Secondly, if the Franklin

were indeed interrupting the Squire to end his story, he could have
apologized for interrupting. Obviously the Squire has not completed his
tale, he has just announced he has three more parts and is two lines into
the telling of the next section. For the Franklin to begin speaking at
this point he would clearly be interrupting the Squire. To preserve
gentillesse it would be necessary for him to apologize for the break in.

All-Ceramic Restorations in Dental Work
Superior aesthetics and biocompatibility of dental ceramics has driven the increasing
use of all ceramic restorations over the past decade (1). However, the brittleness and
low fracture strength of ceramics can initiate crack propagation causing fracture of
the restoration. Clinical studies have demonstrated that all ceramicdental restorations
have an increased resistance to fracturein service when adhesively cemented to the
prepared tooth structure with resin based composite cements (2). It is thought that the
cement interacts and penetrates ceramic surface defects, preventing crack
propagation. However, strengthening is dependent on sufficient resin cement
polymerisation via free radical photo polymerisation in response to blue light (450
500nm). Adequate polymerisation (DC) depends on appropriate light transmission
(LT) to the resin cement, which is affected by the opacity and the thickness of the
ceramic and the resin cement layer. Consequently, this will influence the mechanical
properties of the resin cement together with the strength and longevity of the
restoration (3, 4, 5). The aim of this current study is to analyse LT through ceramics
of different shade and thicknesses; measure and map DC; and correlate the results to
the degree of reinforcement achieved.
Specimen preparation
Twenty ceramics discs (4 ceramic shades (A1, A2, A3, A3.5)) were prepared by
mixing 0.73g of Base Dentine VM7 powder (Vita, Bad SГ¤ckingen, Germany)

1.Introduction
1.1 Aim
During the 6 hands on individual labs before this mini project, we have learnt the
design and implementation of filter and oscillator, together with applied
characterization of different components. The objective of Mini Project was for
students to demonstrate their innovative design skills and implement knowledge
learnt in lectures to real life product design. Therefore, we aimed to integrate what
we learnt in individual labs into one single product, which is a Voice
Disguiser that can solve practical problems of witness protection.

2.2 Microphone Unit
The microphone was implemented to allow the user to transmit speaker s voice as
analog voice signal from the audio socket. The analog voice signal captured by the
microphone is then needed to pass through an amplifier circuit. The amplitude of this
voice signal can be amplified from millivolts to volts so that the signal becomes easier
to for us work with in following implementations. As figure 2 shown, this amplifier
circuit is built by firstly connecting the microphone input through the positive input
terminal of the LM358 chip. Secondly, a feedback loop is built through the output and
negative terminal. Then the analog voice signal captured by the microphone is,
therefore, amplified.

The resistance values of R4 and R3 is purposely chosen for an amplifier gain of 5.7.
As shown in Figure 3, a significant amplifying effect of the microphone voice signal
can been seem afer passing through the amplifier.

Based on oscilloscope detection, the peak to peak value of microphone voice
signal before amplifier is 220mV, while the one after the amplifier is 1.28V. The
actual amplifier gain is therefore 5.8 (1.28/0.22), which is very close to the designed

value of 5.7.
