KADY DUFF
MASTER OF BUSINESS
ADMINISTRATIONPersonal Affirmation: I am a strong, intelligent,
confident woman.
FAVORITE IN-CLASS ASSIGNMENTS
•Scavenger hunt- I enjoyed doing the scavenger hunt because as
a new student it really helped me learn my way around campus.
It helped me realize all of the resources that we had on campus
and how I can put them to use.
•The Power of Saying “No”- This was one of my favorite lessons
because I do have a problem with not saying no to people. This
lesson showed me how it was okay to say no and gave me ways
to tell people no without being rude.
•Identifying a College Network of Support- This was one of my
favorite lessons because it shows you all the support you have
as a person, and as a college student you can feel stressed at
times and feel like you can not talk to anybody, so it helped
having this paper to show us all the different people we could
talk to.
FAVORITE JOURNALS
• Self-Assessment- The self-assessment was on of my favorite journals
because it helped me realize a lot of stuff about myself. I realized that I need
to work better at letting other people help me when I need it because most
of the time there will be a positive outcome. I always thought taking
assessments like this were interesting, so being able to do it for a class was
really cool.
•Journal Entry 11- I liked this journal because it was literally what I do in my
free time, I constantly think about the future and what it will be like, and
how the decisions I am making now will effect me later in life. Being able to
visualize a goal that you have set and accomplishing it is one of the best
feelings, so being able to visualize a goal and seeing it be accomplished is a
great feeling.
•Journal Entry 13- This journal really helped me realize where I was spending
my time, and how I could be spending it to achieve my goals. Time
management was one of the lower scored areas on my self-assessment, so
this journal really put how I’m spending my time into perspective for me.
FAVORITE MODULE
My favorite module we have talked about was module two,
Accepting Personal Responsibility and Metacognition. This was
my favorite module because I had never heard of metacognition
before and found it really interesting. I for one am always one
to overthink things, so actually reading about why we do this
and why it affects us was really cool.
LESSONS THAT I WILL CARRY WITH
ME
•When Gretchen Huff talked to us about Career Services
•Mastering Self-Management
•Adopting lifelong learning
GROWTH IN PERSONAL
RESPONSIBILITY
Before: I scored a 54.
After: I scored a 56.
My growth: I did not notice
much of a change over the
semester as it was happening,
but now looking back I can
see how I’ve changed. I now
take more responsibility for
more actions then I did before
with my school work. If I do
not understand something I
make sure to find someone
that can explain it differently
to me so I will understand it.
LETTER TO THE NEXT CLASS
In my letter to the next class I talked about:
• My time in high school
•How I worked with balancing my school work and personal life
•What I had problems with during high school
•My expectations in college
LETTER TO THE NEXT CLASS
•What college is really like
•How my habits changed from the beginning of the semester to
the end
•Description of Learning Frameworks
•Advice for the future
