Ansleigh Oakley is a nursing major who enjoyed assignments that allowed her to get to know her classmates better and learn practical skills. Her favorite assignments included a scavenger hunt around campus, a discussion on creating resumes, and sharing quotes from readings. She also enjoyed journals that encouraged self-reflection, such as assessing her strengths and weaknesses, exploring how writing impacts emotions, and examining her inner critic versus inner defender. Oakley found the first week of class the most engaging because it helped students get comfortable participating. Through the course, she improved her emotional intelligence and commitment to lifelong learning. Her future goals center around faith, relationships, career and family.
