 I enjoyed working on the Grayson Link Career assignment the most in this class. I was able to
take the Holland assessment. I found out my Holland Code is IAS (Investigative 29, Artistic 23,
Social 21). Of the careers listed that fit my code I recognized two of the careers listed that I
would greatly enjoy Veterinarian and Archeologists. However, despite the two listed I do not
plan to continue my education in either of those careers.
 The Scavenger Hunt assignment was challenging. I had a difficult time locating all of the
required information. I actually learned a lot about what this college has to offer the students. I
didn’t know that tutoring services, writing assistance and the math hub services are all offered
free to students.
 Completing the assignment How the Brain Learns helped me to understand that there are
many factors that effect the way I learn. I learned ways to improve my concentration and focus.
I have tried to incorporate “brain brakes” and self-care. However, I haven’t had time to dedicate
to improve my self-care.
Three Favorite Assignments
 Week one journal entry was actually very interesting to me. I enjoyed learning about myself
by using the self-assessment. I did not know the results would be so low in most of the
sections. I was sad to see my scores, I felt a little discouraged at first but after reading that I
am in the medium range, I felt slightly better. After completing this journal, I began working
on improving different aspects of myself.
 The journal entry for week 2 really peeked my interest in this course. Initially I was skeptical
about whether I would get anything out of this class. I really had to take a hard look at
myself and put on paper my self-criticism. I really didn’t have an inner guide until this
journal entry.
 The final journal entry 33 from chapter 9 was also one of my favorites. I liked taking the self-
assessment questionnaire again to compare my scores from earlier on in the semester. I was
glad to see that most of my scores increased in a majority of the sections.

Favorite Module
 I would have to say my favorite week of this course would have to
be week one. I really was not looking forward to this class and after
completing week one I discovered that I was really interested in the
material. I really got into doing the self-assessments and learning
about myself. I realized I had several areas I can improve on. I also
learned for the first time how to upload a photo. The TypeFocus
discussion was very thought-provoking as well. I learned a lot about
myself within the very first week of this course.
 Three lessons I have learned and hope to carryon with me to the next
semester are how I can improve my study and work habits. I didn’t
really have an idea about how to better my abilities to study until I
learned several different methods. Secondly, I learned how to really
look at myself and not only critique/criticize myself but create ways to
improve or overcome some of my self-defeating thoughts and
behaviors. Lastly, I would have to say I was surprised to learn how my
thought's, emotions, and actions are tied together. When I changed the
way I talked to myself it also changed the way I felt, leading to me
getting my work completed on time. I have learned a significant
amount about myself throughout this course and am glad I took it. I
hope to carry on these lessons not only to the next semester but
throughout my life.
Three Lessons to Carryon
 I never thought I could make anything of myself
or that I would be able to better myself. However,
this class has really helped me see the thought
process behind most of the decisions I make. Fear
has held me back most of my life. This class has
also taught me that I don’t have to be afraid of
challenging myself. I have been able to really
looked at myself and see my flaws and also create
a game plan of how to overcome those flaws and
be successful.
