Population explosion is a boon or a curse? For
the European developed countries like Spain and
Italy, where the population is decreasing, this
might be considered as a boon. However, for the
developing countries like India, population
explosion is a curse and is damaging to the
development of the country and it’s society.
• POPULATION : Population is a group of individuals of a
particular species, sharing a common gene pool and
occupying a particular area at a specific time.

rapid rise in the size of the human population.
Population explosion is a global phenomenon but it is
more prominent in under developed and developing
countries.
– India is second populous country with 1.36 billion (2019).
and by 2025 India will overtake China.
