COLOUR SCHEMES
AND FONTS
Visual representation and analysis via style sheets
Colour schemes
■ The best way to obtain a colour scheme is to use adobe
colour wheel which can extract a colour scheme from an
image from select points or from preset variables, it also
gives the colour codes for them for easy access.
■ So, taking an image from my visual aesthetic style sheet I
was given this I was able to automatically obtain this colour
scheme which could work for backgrounds and other visual
assets/ post production. This process was repeated in order
to find the following appropriate with other style sheet
images to obtain a median colour scheme
Fonts
■ For the main copy of the fanzine generally any sans serif
fonts would be acceptable within reason. The fonts
represented here to the side would be used for less common
features like the masthead, pull quotes and section headers
etc.
■ These fonts were chosen in order to reflect my desired tone
and aesthetic for my project; that being retro, neon and
mechanical. I believe that a selection of these selected
options will be used in my final project as they would
effectively convey the aesthetics mentioned prior
PRODUCTION
PLANNING
Sourced content, locations, finance, equipment, pagination
Sourced content
■ Visual sourced content within my fmp would be edited screencaps taken from the live
action films (2007-2018) and the 1984 cartoon and 1986 animated movie. These
screencaps would be edited in order to make them more individual and less ‘lazy’
■ Some other visual sourced content might be general stock images of landscapes. (i.e
forests, rivers, cities) objects, visual effects (i.e. smoke, rain,) etc. These would be used as
the base/ background of digitally created pieces or to visually enhance pages.
Locations
■ For locations of any photograph shooting there shouldn’t be any issues as any photos
would be done in a studio setting rather than on locations which can be done at home
or at college so long as there is controllable lighting and a clear solid background
which would make post-production much easier.
Finance
■ Overall financing won’t be a large concern for myself within this project, however for
the imagery within the fanzine I will be using the original 80s figures so the more of
those I have the better for which I have set myself a £50 budget in order to acquire a
larger number which would give more variety and be more visually appealing to the
reader
Equipment
Equipment required :
■ High quality camera (i.e. cannon)
■ Tripod
■ Mini product photo studio
In terms of equipment there wouldn’t be too much that’s needed, and it all can be
acquired easily enough either from home or borrowed from college, although the latter
shouldn’t be necessary as at home I have a cannon 550D, a professional tripod and a mini
photo studio.
