The Kadayawan Celebration is a yearly celebration in the city of Davao in the Philippines every
August. Its name gets from the agreeable welcome "Madayaw", from the Dabawenyo word
meaning great, important, predominant or delightful. The celebration is a festival of life, a
thanksgiving for the blessings of nature, the abundance of culture, the bounties of gather and
quietness of living. This celebration held in the third seven day stretch of August consistently
which was featuring the 11 tribes of Davao City namely Sama, Kagan, Maranao, Maguindanao,
Iranun, Tausug, Klata Bagobo, Obo Manobo, Ata, Matigsalug, and Tagabawa.
