Bell Curve Grading
Bell Curve Scoring Whenever you hear the phrase graded on a curve the class splits into two types of
people: the confident and the terribly stressed. In my school, there is an established grading scale
meaning whatever score an individual gets on an assignment is comparable to a rubric and gets a score
based on his sole abilities. Grading on a curve is a bit different. This grading method calculates the
average grade and determines how each student compared to the average. Bell curve grading doesn t
measure how much of the material a student retained, per say, but instead, how much more (or less)
they knew than their classmates. Bell curve grading is the most competitive type of assessing; each
student must not be concerned with doing his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are unfair , unjustly subjective, and just a bad tool in general to measure anyone s abilities. I see
their necessity in the face of extremely difficult tests in which the professor expects everyone to fail
on a regular grading scale; however, in day to day, averagely difficult assignments, this is too extreme
and harsh of a method of grading. There are many greater ways to help a student s grade, such as
raising every student s grade by the top score s difference from 100. Another viable option is to take
everyone s scores out of the highest score. Both of these and many more are safer and more beneficial
alternatives and still show how people relatively scored among one another. Bell curve grading seems
terrible; I am glad none of my teachers employ

Analysis Of The Book What Every Environmentalist Needs...
Student Name: Huanbing Zhang
Student Number: 999611503
JGE 331 Book Review (what every environmentalist needs to know about capitalism) To begin this
critical review of this book, the brief and precise introduction and summary of the whole book is
needed before discussing with the authors main arguments. However, this book is mainly emphasizing
the magic relations between the capitalism and current environmental problems. In the other words,
while there are some people who argued that the capitalism thinking is necessarily required for
addressing all of the problem, not just environmental ones, human are encountering the authors argued
for the opposite side of that, especially in terms of such all of environmental issues that the authors
have listed in chapter one as rapid speed of the melting glacier, ocean acidification due to the increase
in carbon dioxide emissions, loss of biodiversity, ground water pollution and deplete, changed natural
land pattern (p. 14), the capitalism instead is a rooted problem that makes these environmental issues
worse. Following that, the authors gave the enough amounts of evidences explaining why capitalism
thinking changed the way in which people lived from getting natural resources for their basic
necessity to unlimited calling for the never enough for luxury life. Therefore, as the needs for natural
resources grew infinitely the authors thought that it is no doubt that the environmental issues would be
worse with capitalism thinking

Siege Of Leningrad
In World War II, the crimes which stood out against humanity shook the foundations of the world.
From the rise of Hitler to the genocidal Holocaust, the war took the lives of more than 80 million
people over the course of 6 years. Today, North American education continues to pass down the
horrors of the war as a grim reminder of the past. However, what our history textbooks cover tend to
focus on the American side of things. Instead of learning important events which were going on in
other parts of the world, we recognize our triumphs and efforts in the war. The Siege of Leningrad, for
example, is not talked about frequently, although it was a catastrophic time for the Russians. The
Siege of Leningrad was a military blockade by Hitler in an attempt to take the city by letting
Leningrad (St. Petersburg today) starve to death. By surrounding ... Show more content on

Due to lack of food supplies, ration cards were handed out by officers very sparingly to the citizens of
the city. These cards were viewed as the key to survival during the siege; one use cards for providing
small amounts of food for the user. As cards were sought out by starving citizens, some turned to
crime and even cannibalism in an attempt to satiate their hunger. For example, there was a report of an
18 year old who murdered his two younger brothers for their ration cards or an instance where a man
used an axe to kill his grandma, then proceeded to boil her liver (dailymail.co.uk). The novel is similar
in regards to acts of immorality, an example being when Lev and Kolya encounter cannibals who tries
to lure them into their deaths, We need a dozen eggs (Kolya)... You re in luck. That s all I have... Into
our apartment first . Of course, it was a ruse and the pair were led into a trap which they get away

Bishop s Same Gender Couples Adoption
Bishop Disapproves Same Gender Couples Adoption Rights in Czech Republic
In response to a change in the Czech Republic s law now affirming the rights of LGB people adopting
children, Bishop Vaclav Maly chairman of the Justice and Peace Commission of the Czech Bishops
Conference stated:
The model of the family, constituted by a man and a woman, has been proved over thousands of years
and shown by numerous expert studies to serve a child s physical and psychological needs best,
according to an article on The Tablet.
In June of 2016, the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic struck down the law that kept LGB
people in same gender partnerships from adopting children. The Czech Republic, where Catholicism
is the dominant religion, has seen slow change from their landmark decision in 2006 that created a
registered partnership class for same gender couples. Registered partnerships are similar to marriages
but with less rights, such as until recently not having the right to adopt children. The previous law,
however, allowed LGB people not in registered partnerships to adopt and only restricted those in
registered partnerships. The court s June decision allows one member of a registered partnership to
adopt but does not yet allow both partners to hold joint custody.
In a statement, Bishop Vaclav Maly said that recent increases in child abuse and neglect in the Czech
Republic required increased dialogue on the country s adoption and foster care. After researching

Son Therapy Case Study
After completing ten session with the son, his mother informs me that their insurance panel did not
approve further treatment. Keeping in mind of the principle 1.11 from the AAMFT Code of ethics I
would not abandonment the client. Unless the client mother come up with alternative means of
payment for her son therapy, I would take the action of making reasonable arrangement for
continuation of treatment (Caldwell, 2015). But, due to the fact that insurance panel will approve
further treatment, I would not be able to space out other session.
The action that I would take based on my client circumstances with their insurance panel not
providing anymore treatment, would not be anything that would constitute client abandonment or

Once the therapist has made the determination of termination she/he must prepare the client for
termination by explaining the process and listen how the client feel about the termination process
(Shaw, 2015). Also, the therapist should include some benefits of the new service that has been
recommended through referral. This would help the client to transition to a new service in a more
healthy and therapeutic way (Caldwell, 2015).
After having one year of therapy with the mother son, I received a subpoena from the mother lawyer
asking me to be part of the court proceeding, with the mother asking the court to grant her sole
custody of her child. The subpoena was asking me to provide information concerning the divorce and
child custody as addressed in the previous therapy and that I will be called to testify. The action that I
would take is first thing that would probably do in my current dilemma dealing with the subpoena
would be to lawyer up myself seeking and obtaining legal advice from an attorney (Shaw, 2015). Also,
I would review the AAMFT Code of Ethics to see what it entail in reference to the concerns about
subpoena as well as finding out what the local, state, and federal laws about subpoena (Caldwell,
2015).

as being a minor child by law. Therefore the minor child which is son must have the

The Witchcraft Trials And The Impact Of The Salem Witch...
In 1692, a gloomy and horrendous time in American History occurred, especially for the people in the
small village of Salem. This dark time in history was known as the Salem Witch Trials. In the Salem
Witch Trials more than 200 people in the Salem village were accused of practicing witchcraft and
twenty innocent people were killed during the frightening time of the trials. The Salem Witch Trials
was a series of cases due to witchcraft brought before local judges in the village in the Massachusetts
Bay colony in the seventeenth century. The trials officially began in February of 1692, when three
women named Tituba, Sarah Good and Sarah Osborne, were accused of witchcraft by four girls who
intentionally started the witchcraft . The Salem Witch Trials finally ended in May of 1693, when the
judges decided to let all of the inmates accused of witchcraft out of jail. Although the trials did not
occur for a long period of time, the trials did have a major impact on American History. The Salem
Witch Trials began when three girls were accused of witchcraft. In Massachusetts in the seventeenth
century, many people had much fear of the devil, and always thought that the devil was trying to find
ways to tear apart their community and their friends along with their family members. Salem was a
strongly religious community. Tituba, one of the girls who was accused of being witch, confessed that
she and the other three girls were witches, said that she, along with the others worked for the

of all of the children you are the only albino. Your skin and hair are white as snow, and your eyes are

Children And Youth Of Prince George s County
Problem Identification: As African American moved to Prince George s County to be part of a
phenomenon that has been rare in American history: a community that grew more upscale as it
became more black. The county became a national symbol of the American Dream with a black twist
(Michael, 2015). However, their dreams were shattered. Moreover, when white families departed as
the black population grew, one of the consequences of this action was the quality of education in the
public school system, declined which cause many affluent black families to turn away from the public
school system. Summary of case/describe the particular: Experts say the trend in Prince George s is
similar to what has happened in other large school systems that have struggled academically: The loss
of middle class families has led to a higher percentage of poor students using the public school
system, less local accountability and waning community involvement. Also, Russ (2013) stated,
children and youth of Prince George s County face many challenges, and the solution requires action
on the part of the entire community. Philanthropists, Businesses, School Leaders, and Policymakers
are called to take action to end our disconnected youth crisis and ensure all students graduate high
school, college and career ready. In addition, educating our youth must begin early in a child s
development life, simply because this period provides a foundation for learning and social

That is ahuge loss in value. What if instead you had a multi currency account and were actuallyholding
your savings in Swiss francs as opposed to the US Dollar? Now the shoe is on the other foot! Instead
of loosing money you would have made a huge return on your money. The above example clearly
shows why most hard working Americans can not get ahead. You are saving your money in US
Dollars and the US Dollar is consistently loosing value. Furthermore, the paltry interest that most
accounts pay can barely keep up with inflation let alone the dollars depreciation. In all of my years as
a financial advisor I have never met a single middle class or affluent client that had a multi currency
account. Every thing they owned and invested in was in American dollars. In the above example, not
only would you have earned interest on your money you also would have made a substantial amount
of money simply based on the rising value of the Swiss Franc and the declining value of the US
Dollar. It was not until I met and started talking to some multi millionaires that I became aware of the
power of multi currency accounts. Just like a stock market, or any other investment, foreign currency

Importance Of Choosing A Business Entity
Monique Desir Choosing a Business Entity The Importance of Choosing a Business Entity As an
accountant and Tax Preparer in New York, Monique Desir works with many tax payers who require a
business entity. There are many factors that go into the choosing of a business entity, and the
implications for the business can be large. If you are working towards a new business, find a tax
professional who knows the ins and out of business entities in your area. What is a Business Entity? A
business entity is not only the identity of the company you are creating, but also determines the type of
legal structure your new business will have. This decision is complicated, and possibly the most
important item you will decide when you start a new business venture. There is no single type of
entity that is better than the rest. Your choice will have to be made based upon your requirements and
future desires. There are five commonly used business entities; partnerships, sole proprietorship, C
corporations, S corporations, and Limited Liability Companies. To pick the business entity that will
suit your needs, you should consult a local Tax Preparer or accountant. What Your Entity Will Effect
Choosing a business entity has long reaching considerations. One of the most important aspects of this
choice is the resulting taxes that your business (and you) will have to pay. Each type of business entity
is subject to a different form of taxation. Some entity forms have better opportunities to

Prevention And Treatment Of Athletic Injuries
Prevention and Treatment of Athletic Injuries Participation in sports can be beneficial for people, they

Injuries can take a person from doing something they love to sitting the bench for extended periods of

heat illness can be prevented by both athletes and coaches with the right form of knowledge on
treatment and prevention. Overuse injuries are caused by continuous mini traumas to an athletes

Exercise is beneficial for bones, ligaments, muscles, and tendons, but when the body undergoes the
process of remodeling there is a fine line between breakdown and buildup. When breakdown of tissues
occurs more than buildup of tissues the body is more likely to experience an overuse injury. Training
errors are the most common cause of overuse injuries. Errors occur in training frequency, intensity,
and length as many people try to increase their workouts too quickly. Previous injuries can also lead to
more injuries as athlete s may push to train too hard so they can return sooner.
Learning proper exercise technique may help prevent overuse injuries. An athlete must learn to listen
to their bodies to prevent overuse injuries, No pain, no gain, might not be right, if in extreme amounts
of pain it is important limit or even stop exercise until the problem feels better. The ten percent rule
might benefit athletes as it requires an athlete only increase the intensity of their workout regime by
ten percent each week. To treat an overuse injury one must, cut down the intensity of a work out, or
even stop it completely. One can maintain their fitness level while treating an overuse injury by
varying hard and easy workouts and adding cross training for extra strength. Learning proper workout
technique is important, it may have caused the injury so it is vital to treat it and prevent the injury

The Influence of Paul the Apostle
Paul the Apostle is considered to be the most influential of the early members of the Christian church,
along with Simon Peter and James the Just. Saint Paul is said to have been born around AD 5, and
considered to have died about AD67, though the Bible does not record his death specifically. The
epistles written by Paul to the churches were plainly and sharply worded. Paul s writings make up a
good portion of the New Testament and demonstrate his position of prominence as an apostle of the
early Church. Saint Paul was a significant contributor to the spreading of the Gospel through the early
Christian communities, particularly through his Epistles, that were established across the Roman
Empire. Paul s letters make up some of the earliest of Christian documents and, as such, they are a
window into early Christianity, with all of its controversies and unpolished beliefs. The authoritative
rule of the New Testament is considered to derive from Saint Paul s works Before his conversion, Paul
used the name Saul and he was engaged in the persecution of Jesus early disciples in the area around
Jerusalem. In the book of Acts, the narrative tells about Saul traveling from Jerusalem to Damascus
when he encountered the resurrected Jesus in a great light that blinded him for three days, until
Ananias of Damascus restored his sight. Following that powerful experience, Paul began his preaching
about Jesus of Nazareth as the Son of God and the Jewish Messiah. Saint Paul s influence

Critical Appreciation Of Judith Decapitating Holofernes
From Whitney Chadwick third edition of Women, Art, and Society, the piece of artwork that engaged
me deeply from this book is the 17th Century Italian Baroque painting Judith Decapitating Holofernes
c. 1618 by Italian artist Artemisia Gentileschi. This painting is oil on canvas painting in the style of
classical Italian Baroque characteristics of chiaroscuro, dramatic realism, naturalistic, and rich vivid
colors. What I see physically at first from the painting is at the center of the work a violent action is
being played out by two young women using a sword to behead a man s head while he s in bed. I can
see the arm strength of Judith and her maidservant in the way they re holding the man down to keep
him still while their killing him and in the way the artist arranges the women s arms. I also see the
amazement, terror, and vulnerability Holofernes is feeling by the way Artemisia painted in such detail
in the look in his unnaturally wide eyes due to shock, his mouth is open like he s either screaming for
help or in pain, and how his body is contorted in an uncomfortable arrangement almost like he s trying
to get up to stop this assault. What mostly draws me and holds my attention to this painting is the raw
intensified emotion Artemisia can show of the three characters in this dramatic climatic scene, how
theatrical she is with the blood when Judith cuts into Holofernes neck, raw emotions, and how to me
other paintings seem so tame compared to Artemisia Judith. I

The Ethics Of Group Counseling
Ethics in Group Counseling According to the American Counseling Association (ACA, 2014) Code of
Ethics, ethical principles are based on a set of values that include autonomy, nonmaleficence,
beneficence, justice, fidelity, and veracity. These ethics apply to all types of counseling, including both
group and individual therapy; however, different aspects of these ethical guidelines must be
considered based on the therapeutic approach. This paper will identify several of these ethical issues
as they relate specifically to group counseling, while also evaluating how these differences compare to
ethical guidelines within an individual approach. Based on this information, a final analysis will be
provided on when therapists should choose group versus individual for a client.
Identifying Ethical Issues in Group Counseling
According to the American Counseling Association (2014) Code of Ethics, ethical principles are based
on a set of values that include autonomy, nonmaleficence, beneficence, justice, fidelity, and veracity.
As an editor with International Journal of Group Psychotherapy, Virginia Brabender (2006) further
clarifies these principles as they relate to group therapy through focusing on four of these values:
beneficence, nonmaleficence, respect for autonomy, and fidelity.
Beneficence and Nonmaleficence Beneficence is a caregiver s responsibility to promote work that will
benefit the welfare of the client, while also preventing or removing harm. For

Media Violence And Its Effects On Society
Media Violence in Current Society
Yanan Yu
Abstract
This article reviews evidence of the media impact on interpersonal violence internationally. Media
violence always is a controversial topic. There are several factors that demonstrate this impact: (1) A
recognition that electronic media use now dominates most of young people s time; (2) Evidence
demonstrating violent media has multiple harmful effects on children, adolescents, and young adults;
(3) The growing impact of media violence on the media economy and media regulation; (4) Other
factors, such as new technology, globalization, and regulation influence the media violence; and (5)
broad economic and social impacts of the media violence. The following analysis of these factors can
provide further insight into this topic and potentially define some actions to reduce the impact to
society.
Nature and Causes of Media Violence
Media violence generally considered including film, television, video games, newspapers and other
media containing or violent content that causes a bad influence on people s normal life phenomenon
of violence. The influence between media violence and teenagers always can be the subject of
extensive debate. The causes of youth violence are multifactorial. It can be congenital or nurture. For
example, it can be poverty, family psychopathology, child abuse, exposure to domestic and
community violence, substance abuse, media violence, and other psychiatric disorders (Beresin, n.d).

Notes On Sumo Style Deadlift
Sumo Style Deadlift
The sumo style deadlift is easier to learn than the conventional style and although the concept is the
same, the exercise works different body parts. In this lift style, the lifter grabs the grip bar with arms
placed on the inside of legs and maintains a wider stance than the conventional lift. A sumo style lift
may not be the best way to pick up the most weight, but it is an easier position to learn the basics of
deadlifting (Roberts). Sumo style lifters need groin flexibility because in this stance, the hips are
closer to the bar and many push their knees out to get to the bar, rather than pushing the hips back. The
sumo stance also requires lifters to be much more upright, this adds an extra layer of muscle
engagement. In addition to the muscles worked out by a conventional deadlift, which include the
hamstrings, quads, and gluts, the sumo style lift also adds muscle engagement in the lower back and
some adductors (Roberts). Each stance comes with its problems and benefits for different body types.
In the sumo stance, there is a lower starting hip position. The sumo position allows for a more rounded
back to get the bar off the floor, but lifters often struggle at lockout in this position. Also, the sumo
deadlift has a smaller back angle compared to the conventional deadlift, which allows for more weight
to be lifted with a lesser degree of lower back strength. In the sumo lift, the barbell travel is minimized
because there is a shorter stroke. This

Braveheart Speech: In depth Analysis Regarding Figurative Language Braveheart is a historical drama
epic film from 1995. The film was nominated for ten Academy Awards and won five. The film is non
fictional and depicts the events of William Wallace, a Scottish hero who led the Scots during the First
War of Scottish Independence against England. However, despite the historical inaccuracies cited by
critics, the film was intriguing and successful considering the box office success and award

And I see a whole army of my countrymen here in defiance of tyranny (Braveheart). In this statement,
Wallace uses rhetoric to address the crowd. Metonymy is used in this sentence, the use of the term
tyranny substitutes what they are actually fighting against on the battlefield, which are the English.
Wallace uses the word tyranny because in the film, the English were ruling over the Scottish and the
customs in which they ruled, the Scottish saw it as tyranny. The term tyranny establishes logos
because it provides the audience reason for what they are about to fight and possibly die for. There is
also an appeal to pathos in this sentence because a term like tyranny carries a negative connotation
along with it. Kenneth S. Zagacki, a professor in communications at North Carolina State University
and Patrick Boleun Fitzgerald, a professor in philosophy at Lawrence University explain this
phenomenon: Emotions like anger are important to Aristotle s theory of Rhetoric, although it is
important to understand that there is a distinction between the emotional state of anger and angry
rhetoric. Angry rhetoric, however it is performed publicly, tries to evoke anger in one s audience, as
Aristotle himself demonstrates (4). In this case, a powerful term like tyranny creates that anger
because of its meaning and

President James A. Garfield
President James A. Garfield was and still is one of the most respected presidents to serve in the White
House. Millard s book is split into parts, each part a significant chunk from Garfield s life. Millard
wrote of Garfield becoming president in the first two parts, then focuses more on his death in parts
three and four of her book, and I found what she wrote to be fascinating. The book switched between
telling the main events mainly from three people perspectives, which were Alexander G. Bell,
Garfield, and Charles Guiteau. I liked that Millard incorporated the perspectives from the men and
women that were instrumental in the downfall of Garfield. Her book is inspiring and very well written.
Garfield had served in Congress for seventeen years, but had absolutely no interest in being president.
When at the Republican National Convention, he was to give a speech to nominate a candidate for the
Republican nominee in the presidential race. However, the people voted for him and to his dismay,
Garfield became the nominee. As Garfield had no desire to be president, he did not campaign. He did
give speeches to the people who showed up to his home, but that was it. Garfield won the election and
was sworn in March 4, 1881. Charles Guiteau, the man who assassinated Garfield was, in short, a
lunatic. A few days before Garfield s inauguration, he survived the ship wreck of the Stonington. He

My Book Of Mormon 121 Class Essay
For my Book of Mormon 121 class, I wanted to choose a lesson that could possibly help me prepare
for a mission. We only have one boy in our family and he is the very last of 7 children. My three older
sisters didn t go on a mission and I was confused when I had the sudden urge and desire to do so. I
thought it was just curiosity, to fit in with the new norm of woman going on a mission, and therefore
have not done anything serious to pursue those feelings. But it came to pass that whosoever did not
belong to the church of God began to persecute those that did belong to the church of God, and had
taken upon them the name of Christ. (1:19). I will be applying the scripture block Alma 1:19 26 which
describes how the people of the Church had to face many trials in order to test their faith.
Living in Utah my whole life, I never had to worry about feeling pressured because of my religion.
My sister who is currently in the army, describes Utah as a bubble that has it s benefits until you leave
it. When I was first introduced to the wonders and horrors of the internet, I realized that there was
world outside of Utah. A world that encompassed swearing, suggestive material, and cruel riles against
my church. I believe that if I had the chance to experience the world, my testimony would be able to
strengthen and therefore I would not have the urge to crack my screen when some youtube video
rashes my Heavenly Fathers and Savior s church. In Alma 1:19 25 it describes the hardships

Skepticism About a Refutation of Skepticism Essay
Skepticism about a Refutation of Skepticism
In The Refutation of Skepticism , Jonathan Vogel establishes an Inference to the Best Explanation
(hereafter, IBE ) as a means to refute skepticism about the external world. In this refutation, Vogel
acknowledges that skepticism about IBE still remains a possibility, but that this kind of skepticism
would be rather outlandish in character and thus could be ignored. This paper shall both establish and
evaluate Vogel s reasoning as to why he confidently dismisses any skepticism pertaining to his IBE,
and furthermore will illuminate some points as to why Vogel may have mischaracterized potential
threats to his method, leaving his refutation of skepticism vulnerable to doubt that is not as ... Show

So how is this supposed to serve as a successful refutation of skepticism? To make sense of this, it
should first be understood exactly how IBE qualifies its requirement for simplicity, and also what
Vogel understands both mundane propositions and skeptical arguments to be comprised of. The
assumption that the world works in ways that are simple, implied from the principle of induction, is
construed by Vogel to mean that the better explanation would be the belief involving the fewest
complexities and least number of parts to argue. Vogel is under the impression that skeptical
arguments involve much more complexity in order to make them parallel the ordinary beliefs they aim
to compete with, and cites the example that for ordinary properties such as shape and location that
could be involved in a mundane proposition, the skeptic would have to invoke a much more elaborate
explanation for why we are experiencing pseudo shapes and pseudo locations. This leaves the
skeptical argument at a major disadvantage when assessed by IBE s requirement for simplicity,
allowing for the mundane proposition to be deemed the better explanation because of its capability to
explain things as they are instead of why they appear to be as they are but really are

Essay on The Process of Adoption and the Need for Change
I am a 31 yr. old adoptee, I was adopted at birth it was prearranged prior to my birth, my sister who is
3 yrs younger also a prearranged adoption at birth...actually we were picked up by our adopted parents
around six to nine weeks but my understanding is I was never with my birth mother I was either in the
hospital or at the agency until they came to get us ( Open Adoption ).
Adoption is the process by which people take a child who was not born to them and raise them as a
member of their family (Fanshel). Adoption is sometimes used as an easy way to get out of a
pregnancy or raising a child. It is a very emotional process that people sometimes spend their whole
lives trying to figure more information about the event. Other times ... Show more content on

What makes adopting a kid that easy? Are people really sure they want to give their kid up for
adoption, or adopt a kid? The adoption process should be changed extremely, fitting the lives of the
people that need the adoption program the most and fitting the lives of the kids that need homes and
families.
Parents place their children up for adoption for many reasons. Some parents feel that they cannot care
for the child. A parent that is not married may not want to care for a child being a single parent. Other
couples have many reasons for wanting to adopt a child. Adoption gives couples who have not given
birth to children, an opportunity to raise a family (Fanshel).
Lisa, a small town cowgirl, was 15 and pregnant. It was far past the abortion state, so adoption went
through her mind very often, since she knew she couldn t handle the baby. She thought about raising
the baby, but with absolutely no support from her parents or family members. Without the help, she
knew she could not raise the baby, especially if she planned to complete high school and then go on to
college. To Lisa, adoption seemed like the most logical and available option, but she was still scared in
making her decision. In this situation, the child of the mother would be better off, and be able to live a
better life, rather than if it would have been raised by a mother who could not possibly raise a baby.
This is when adoption can be used, but for

Essay On Cost Drivers
Implementation of similar drivers occur during Maintenance and Service Operations. As with new
fabrication, labor is a key prime cost associated with service and regular maintenance of aircraft.
Though this cost is easy to allocate to specific airframes by hour, it is also important to note that
service and maintenance require a higher percentage of Support Costs through inspections, analysis,
and customer involvement activities. As such, implementation of ABC methods in this sector requires
more detailed analysis of support and labor costs to identify cross activity correlations. Finally,
Training and Support Activities would be the most difficult to clarify prior to implementation. Cost

ABC Cost Structure Cessna has a fairly straightforward product set that lends itself to ABC fairly
easily. Regardless if the airframe is being designed, assembled, or serviced, the ABC activities and
associated cost drivers are applicable to all operating activities. Product promotion and advertising
utilize similar mediums and sales of all types of airframes are handled using similar cost drivers.
Moving into the Design and Engineering phase, employees can again combine these tasks into an
activity center that runs off of design hours as their primary cost driver. Airframe Fabrication covers
the physical production and construction activities and would be budgeted based on multiple cost
drivers depending on the hourly requirement per item. The most logical cost driver in this category is
the number of parts requiring assembly or fabrication. Once assembly is complete,
Inspection activities assess the quality and integrity of the finished airframe to prevent failures and
possible catastrophic consequences. Similar to fabricating, where the number of parts determine cost,
the cost driver for inspections are the number of inspections necessary to obtain the required
airworthiness certifications. The final overhead costs

Human Rights Violations In Saudi Arabia
Universal human rights are guaranteed to all humans, regardless of their gender, religion, ethnicity, or
background. They also apply to prisoners. Detailing human rights violations in Saudi Arabia, The
United States Department of State explains, The following significant human rights problems were
reported: no right to change the government peacefully; torture and physical abuse; poor prison and
detention center conditions; arbitrary arrest and incommunicado detention; denial of fair and public
trials and lack of due process in the judicial system; political prisoners; restrictions on civil liberties
such as freedoms of speech (including the internet), assembly, association, movement, and severe
restrictions on religious freedom; and corruption and lack of government transparency (United States).
Saudi Arabia is violent towards prisoners and speaking freely against the state is a punishable crime.
Therefore, the power of the individuals at the top of the vertical power structure have the threat of
violence as a weapon in ensuring absolute compliance by citizens.
In order to promote a peaceful global climate, global accountability from outside countries is
necessary to keep Saudi Arabia from infringing on the rights of individuals both within and outside
their borders. The overall sociopolitical ideology of Saudi Arabia, operating culturally under a
patriarchal system of absolute power, is dangerous to the fabric of humanity. Militant intervention into

The Effects Of School Violence On Today s Youth
Abstract
This research investigates definitions of school violence in general and as a subset of youth violence
in particular and investigates and the core environmental factors and the individual student risk factors
found to contribute to school violence. The research also includes investigation into the effects of
school violence on today s youth in general and the negative outcomes of school violence including
poor physical health, poor mental health, poor academic achievement, and a decreased sense of
safety/well being in particular. The research concludes with an exploration of some of the prevention
and intervention strategies proven to be effective in reducing violence in other countries from a school
based bullying/victimization intervention program implemented in Norwegian schools, to a South
African social development curriculum to cognitive behavioral training programs to community and
school based media campaigns developed for teaching social skills around anger management,
impulse control, and empathy that need to be implemented in American schools to keep our children
safe.
From physical, mental and sexual abuse to theft and vandalism to murder, violent acts in American
schools continue to be a growing problem. In a 2011 survey of high school aged youth, 12 percent
reported being in a physical fight on school property in a 12 month period (NCIPC, 2012). Between
2011 and 2013, this increased to 25 percent (Child Trends Data Bank, 2014b). In

Disease Essay Examples
Thought Paper: Pathogens Are Rare Virulence Varies Greatly Less than 1% of bacteria can invade our
bodies and making us ill [5]. Such bacteria are pathogenic and have the potential to be disease
causing. This means that the remaining 99% are rather ubiquitous in nature and serve beneficial
purposes or have no effect on humans. Pathogens vary in complexity and those that remain are a direct
result of successfully adapting to their environments and evolving over time to overcome selective
evolutionary pressures. A more specific example of how disease causing pathogens can vary in
virulence involves the mention of antibiotics and their ability throughout history to temporary

Therefore, virulence varies among isolated cultures, although the origins of these evolutionary
adaptations on a molecular level are all interconnected and can be studied though tracing genetic
elements of between bacterial populations and those found in animals and humans [3]. Studies in the
past tried to directly tie the two phenomena together and confirmed that increased usage of antibiotics
were directly correlated with increased resistance to those specific antibiotics. A finding was
additionally mentioned that diversifying the antibiotics used to eliminate bacterial populations and
reduction in overall use of antibiotics would minimize the levels of resistance in certain bacterial
species most commonly found in hospitals [8]. Additionally, Studies found that certain bacterial
species with increased exposure to antibiotics are highly prevalent in waste water of hospitals. High
levels of resistance displayed in these populations pose as a major risk to environmental health if
released beyond clinical waste water systems. Untreated wastewater is therefore an immediate cause
of concern [8]. Thus, with this data from past and current studies, pathogens are not in themselves
rare, but virulence does vary due to increased exposure to antibiotics and gained resistance that has

Cable tells Tally, Then I ll make you a promise too, Tally Youngblood. Until you help us, to the very
best of your ability, you will never be pretty (Loc 1309). After hearing this, Tally reluctantly agrees to

human nature. Sometimes, we are willing to go against someone we love if it benefits ourselves. Tally
wants to be perfect so badly that she is willing to turn her friend in to the authorities to get the
operation she wants. Dr. Cable gives Tally supplies to get to the Rusties and a heart shaped locket that
she is to activate when she finds Shay. Once Tally activates it, Special Circumstances will be able to
find the location of the Rusties and arrest any outlaws living there. Tally travels for several days and
nights and finally gets to the Rusties. Shay is happy to see her, and immediately introduces her to all
of her new friends. These friends include David, a sixteen year old that ran away from the surgery
because he wanted to stay pure. When Tally meets him, she thinks to herself, He was an ugly, but he
had a nice smile. And his face held a kind of confidence Tally had never seen in an ugly before (Loc

Weight Loss Classification
Billions of dollars per year are made from the weight loss industry. There are so many different types
of products to choose from, that it can be confusing to choose the right one. This article s purpose is to
break down some of those choices for you, so that you can make the best decision. First, we must
realize that there are two different categories of weight loss pills. On one side, we have weight loss
supplements, and on the other side, we have diet pills. Usually, supplements can be bought over the
counter at a GNC or other nutritional supplement retailer. Diet pills, however, must be bought with a
prescription at a pharmacy, or from a trusted source online. One very important factor to realize is that

However, not being regular can leave you looking bloated and a few pounds heavier. Being regular is
the sure way to know that your metabolism is working and that your body is flushing out the waste
and is prepared to take on more nutrition. Constipation does happen to the best of us. While it can be a
serious medical problem, most constipation is caused by what we eat and can be cured by what we eat.
Add Fat: Healthy fats are essential to losing weight and staying regular. It helps keeps the intestines
and colon lubricated and healthy. Fats from junk food work exactly the opposite against your body.
The body cannot use bad fats for their benefits, so they basically just sit there waiting to be disposed
of. The best way to add healthy fat to your diet to aid constipation is to have the oil raw. This means
that instead of sautéing your food in olive oil, drizzle olive oil in a salad. Raw and organic coconut oil
is also delicious on toast in replace of butter. Fill Up On Fiber: Fiber is the best way to get your bowel
movements going. Aiming for 25 to 29 grams of fiber a day will easily fill you up without causing you
to gain weight. Many people who focused on reaching their daily limit with healthy fiber lost weight
more easily than those trying to stay within their allowed calorie count. This is because when you only
count calories, there is room for a few cookies and other junk food. When you focus on getting a fiber

Disadvantages Of Contract Employment Versus At-Will...
What are the comparative advantages and disadvantages of contract employment versus at will
employment for an employer and employee?
There are advantages and disadvantages for both the employee and the employer with contract
employment.
For the employer, it gives them a way to keep their best employees around, along as they can provide
terms that the employee finds advantageous. However, by the same token, a good employee could be
offered a more attractive contract by another employer when it comes contract renewal time, having a
contract doesn t mean you own that employee, but it gives each of the parties involved a measure of
comfort.
As an employer and an employee having a contract spells out the terms of employment, it gives each
of you a clear expectation of the job that should be performed, the benefits such as health insurance,
sick days and even protection for any trade secrets that the employee may be privy to. Moreover, it
can limit the reasons that an employee can leave the company and terminate the contract early
(Findlaw, n.d.).
Furthermore, as an employee you can have your pay with subsequent raises included in the terms as
well as know exactly what could be grounds for dismissal.
All in all a contract can provide each of you with an equitable premise to keep each party happy and
the employment relationship healthy.
Is it appropriate for governments to interfere with private businesses to prevent discrimination? In
what situations do you believe the government should intervene to prevent discrimination?
While each company and corporations have a lot of freedom to choose the employees they feel is right
for the company, and should have choices, in many cases excellent candidates could be looked over
because of their skin color, age or disability (EEOC, n.d.) (Lau Johnson, 2011). Subsequently, the
government has based various laws to protect people that fall into specific classes, Lau and Johnson,
(2011, p.213) named these classes as race, color, religion, sex, national origin, and then later, age and
disability were added to these protected classes.
Moreover, discrimination can and does still happen, General Electric, Ambercrombiue and Fitch,
Walmart and even Denny;s have all been sued

The Impact Of Bitcoin On The World Of Currency And Forex
Article 1 The History of Bitcoin In the world of currency and forex, the core credentials of what
makes up the market seldom changes. However, in 2008 a brand new currency arrived in the form of
bitcoin, with this cryptocurrency certainly working to upset the apple cart. Widely considered to be the
most volatile currency in the world, during 2015 over 100,000 bitcoin based transactions took place,
which shows that usage levels of the cryptocurrency is growing. Considering how the commodity is
maturing, many sectors (including retail and gambling) are now warming up to the idea of adopting
bitcoin. Looking back through time it is clear that this cryptocurrency has been on quite the journey,
with the following taking an in depth look at the rich history of bitcoin. The foundations of bitcoin
were created all the way back in 2008, when three men came together to create and eventually patent a
new form of digital encryption. Taking this base, Satoshi Nakamoto would go on to create the
cryptocurrency we know today as bitcoin. This vision was one of true digital innovation, something
that had the potential to create a currency that was strictly electronic in execution. Working off of a
mining system, the very first block of currency created was dubbed Genesis . Just a few weeks later
the first bitcoin transaction would take place between Nakamoto and Hal Finney, a noted
cryptographic activist and program developer. In 2009, bitcoin would become a more legitimate

  • 2. Bell Curve Grading Bell Curve Scoring Whenever you hear the phrase graded on a curve the class splits into two types of people: the confident and the terribly stressed. In my school, there is an established grading scale meaning whatever score an individual gets on an assignment is comparable to a rubric and gets a score based on his sole abilities. Grading on a curve is a bit different. This grading method calculates the average grade and determines how each student compared to the average. Bell curve grading doesn t measure how much of the material a student retained, per say, but instead, how much more (or less) they knew than their classmates. Bell curve grading is the most competitive type of assessing; each student must not be concerned with doing his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They are unfair , unjustly subjective, and just a bad tool in general to measure anyone s abilities. I see their necessity in the face of extremely difficult tests in which the professor expects everyone to fail on a regular grading scale; however, in day to day, averagely difficult assignments, this is too extreme and harsh of a method of grading. There are many greater ways to help a student s grade, such as raising every student s grade by the top score s difference from 100. Another viable option is to take everyone s scores out of the highest score. Both of these and many more are safer and more beneficial alternatives and still show how people relatively scored among one another. Bell curve grading seems terrible; I am glad none of my teachers employ ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Student Name: Huanbing Zhang Student Number: 999611503 JGE 331 Book Review (what every environmentalist needs to know about capitalism) To begin this critical review of this book, the brief and precise introduction and summary of the whole book is needed before discussing with the authors main arguments. However, this book is mainly emphasizing the magic relations between the capitalism and current environmental problems. In the other words, while there are some people who argued that the capitalism thinking is necessarily required for addressing all of the problem, not just environmental ones, human are encountering the authors argued for the opposite side of that, especially in terms of such all of environmental issues that the authors have listed in chapter one as rapid speed of the melting glacier, ocean acidification due to the increase in carbon dioxide emissions, loss of biodiversity, ground water pollution and deplete, changed natural land pattern (p. 14), the capitalism instead is a rooted problem that makes these environmental issues worse. Following that, the authors gave the enough amounts of evidences explaining why capitalism thinking changed the way in which people lived from getting natural resources for their basic necessity to unlimited calling for the never enough for luxury life. Therefore, as the needs for natural resources grew infinitely the authors thought that it is no doubt that the environmental issues would be worse with capitalism thinking ... • 4. Siege Of Leningrad In World War II, the crimes which stood out against humanity shook the foundations of the world. From the rise of Hitler to the genocidal Holocaust, the war took the lives of more than 80 million people over the course of 6 years. Today, North American education continues to pass down the horrors of the war as a grim reminder of the past. However, what our history textbooks cover tend to focus on the American side of things. Instead of learning important events which were going on in other parts of the world, we recognize our triumphs and efforts in the war. The Siege of Leningrad, for example, is not talked about frequently, although it was a catastrophic time for the Russians. The Siege of Leningrad was a military blockade by Hitler in an attempt to take the city by letting Leningrad (St. Petersburg today) starve to death. By surrounding ... These cards were viewed as the key to survival during the siege; one use cards for providing small amounts of food for the user. As cards were sought out by starving citizens, some turned to crime and even cannibalism in an attempt to satiate their hunger. For example, there was a report of an 18 year old who murdered his two younger brothers for their ration cards or an instance where a man used an axe to kill his grandma, then proceeded to boil her liver (dailymail.co.uk). • 5. Bishop s Same Gender Couples Adoption Bishop Disapproves Same Gender Couples Adoption Rights in Czech Republic In response to a change in the Czech Republic s law now affirming the rights of LGB people adopting children, Bishop Vaclav Maly chairman of the Justice and Peace Commission of the Czech Bishops Conference stated: The model of the family, constituted by a man and a woman, has been proved over thousands of years and shown by numerous expert studies to serve a child s physical and psychological needs best, according to an article on The Tablet. In June of 2016, the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic struck down the law that kept LGB people in same gender partnerships from adopting children. The Czech Republic, where Catholicism is the dominant religion, has seen slow change from their landmark decision in 2006 that created a registered partnership class for same gender couples. Registered partnerships are similar to marriages but with less rights, such as until recently not having the right to adopt children. The previous law, however, allowed LGB people not in registered partnerships to adopt and only restricted those in registered partnerships. The court s June decision allows one member of a registered partnership to adopt but does not yet allow both partners to hold joint custody. In a statement, Bishop Vaclav Maly said that recent increases in child abuse and neglect in the Czech Republic required increased dialogue on the country s adoption and foster care. Keeping in mind of the principle 1.11 from the AAMFT Code of ethics I would not abandonment the client. Unless the client mother come up with alternative means of payment for her son therapy, I would take the action of making reasonable arrangement for continuation of treatment (Caldwell, 2015). But, due to the fact that insurance panel will approve further treatment, I would not be able to space out other session. Once the therapist has made the determination of termination she/he must prepare the client for termination by explaining the process and listen how the client feel about the termination process (Shaw, 2015). Also, the therapist should include some benefits of the new service that has been recommended through referral. This would help the client to transition to a new service in a more healthy and therapeutic way (Caldwell, 2015). After having one year of therapy with the mother son, I received a subpoena from the mother lawyer asking me to be part of the court proceeding, with the mother asking the court to grant her sole custody of her child. The subpoena was asking me to provide information concerning the divorce and child custody as addressed in the previous therapy and that I will be called to testify. The action that I would take is first thing that would probably do in my current dilemma dealing with the subpoena would be to lawyer up myself seeking and obtaining legal advice from an attorney (Shaw, 2015). • 7. The Witchcraft Trials And The Impact Of The Salem Witch... In 1692, a gloomy and horrendous time in American History occurred, especially for the people in the small village of Salem. This dark time in history was known as the Salem Witch Trials. In the Salem Witch Trials more than 200 people in the Salem village were accused of practicing witchcraft and twenty innocent people were killed during the frightening time of the trials. The Salem Witch Trials was a series of cases due to witchcraft brought before local judges in the village in the Massachusetts Bay colony in the seventeenth century. The Salem Witch Trials finally ended in May of 1693, when the judges decided to let all of the inmates accused of witchcraft out of jail. Although the trials did not occur for a long period of time, the trials did have a major impact on American History. The Salem Witch Trials began when three girls were accused of witchcraft. In Massachusetts in the seventeenth century, many people had much fear of the devil, and always thought that the devil was trying to find ways to tear apart their community and their friends along with their family members. • 10. Children And Youth Of Prince George s County Problem Identification: As African American moved to Prince George s County to be part of a phenomenon that has been rare in American history: a community that grew more upscale as it became more black. The county became a national symbol of the American Dream with a black twist (Michael, 2015). However, their dreams were shattered. Moreover, when white families departed as the black population grew, one of the consequences of this action was the quality of education in the public school system, declined which cause many affluent black families to turn away from the public school system. Summary of case/describe the particular: Experts say the trend in Prince George s is similar to what has happened in other large school systems that have struggled academically: The loss of middle class families has led to a higher percentage of poor students using the public school system, less local accountability and waning community involvement. Also, Russ (2013) stated, children and youth of Prince George s County face many challenges, and the solution requires action on the part of the entire community. Philanthropists, Businesses, School Leaders, and Policymakers are called to take action to end our disconnected youth crisis and ensure all students graduate high school, college and career ready. There are many factors that go into the choosing of a business entity, and the implications for the business can be large. If you are working towards a new business, find a tax professional who knows the ins and out of business entities in your area. What is a Business Entity? A business entity is not only the identity of the company you are creating, but also determines the type of legal structure your new business will have. This decision is complicated, and possibly the most important item you will decide when you start a new business venture. There is no single type of entity that is better than the rest. Your choice will have to be made based upon your requirements and future desires. There are five commonly used business entities; partnerships, sole proprietorship, C corporations, S corporations, and Limited Liability Companies. To pick the business entity that will suit your needs, you should consult a local Tax Preparer or accountant. What Your Entity Will Effect Choosing a business entity has long reaching considerations. One of the most important aspects of this choice is the resulting taxes that your business (and you) will have to pay. Each type of business entity is subject to a different form of taxation. • 14. The Influence of Paul the Apostle Paul the Apostle is considered to be the most influential of the early members of the Christian church, along with Simon Peter and James the Just. Saint Paul is said to have been born around AD 5, and considered to have died about AD67, though the Bible does not record his death specifically. The epistles written by Paul to the churches were plainly and sharply worded. Paul s writings make up a good portion of the New Testament and demonstrate his position of prominence as an apostle of the early Church. Saint Paul was a significant contributor to the spreading of the Gospel through the early Christian communities, particularly through his Epistles, that were established across the Roman Empire. Paul s letters make up some of the earliest of Christian documents and, as such, they are a window into early Christianity, with all of its controversies and unpolished beliefs. The authoritative rule of the New Testament is considered to derive from Saint Paul s works Before his conversion, Paul used the name Saul and he was engaged in the persecution of Jesus early disciples in the area around Jerusalem. In the book of Acts, the narrative tells about Saul traveling from Jerusalem to Damascus when he encountered the resurrected Jesus in a great light that blinded him for three days, until Ananias of Damascus restored his sight. Critical Appreciation Of Judith Decapitating Holofernes From Whitney Chadwick third edition of Women, Art, and Society, the piece of artwork that engaged me deeply from this book is the 17th Century Italian Baroque painting Judith Decapitating Holofernes c. 1618 by Italian artist Artemisia Gentileschi. This painting is oil on canvas painting in the style of classical Italian Baroque characteristics of chiaroscuro, dramatic realism, naturalistic, and rich vivid colors. What I see physically at first from the painting is at the center of the work a violent action is being played out by two young women using a sword to behead a man s head while he s in bed. I can see the arm strength of Judith and her maidservant in the way they re holding the man down to keep him still while their killing him and in the way the artist arranges the women s arms. I also see the amazement, terror, and vulnerability Holofernes is feeling by the way Artemisia painted in such detail in the look in his unnaturally wide eyes due to shock, his mouth is open like he s either screaming for help or in pain, and how his body is contorted in an uncomfortable arrangement almost like he s trying to get up to stop this assault. What mostly draws me and holds my attention to this painting is the raw intensified emotion Artemisia can show of the three characters in this dramatic climatic scene, how theatrical she is with the blood when Judith cuts into Holofernes neck, raw emotions, and how to me other paintings seem so tame compared to Artemisia Judith. • 18. Notes On Sumo Style Deadlift Sumo Style Deadlift The sumo style deadlift is easier to learn than the conventional style and although the concept is the same, the exercise works different body parts. In this lift style, the lifter grabs the grip bar with arms placed on the inside of legs and maintains a wider stance than the conventional lift. A sumo style lift may not be the best way to pick up the most weight, but it is an easier position to learn the basics of deadlifting (Roberts). Sumo style lifters need groin flexibility because in this stance, the hips are closer to the bar and many push their knees out to get to the bar, rather than pushing the hips back. The sumo stance also requires lifters to be much more upright, this adds an extra layer of muscle engagement. In addition to the muscles worked out by a conventional deadlift, which include the hamstrings, quads, and gluts, the sumo style lift also adds muscle engagement in the lower back and some adductors (Roberts). Each stance comes with its problems and benefits for different body types. In the sumo stance, there is a lower starting hip position. The sumo position allows for a more rounded back to get the bar off the floor, but lifters often struggle at lockout in this position. Also, the sumo deadlift has a smaller back angle compared to the conventional deadlift, which allows for more weight to be lifted with a lesser degree of lower back strength. In the sumo lift, the barbell travel is minimized because there is a shorter stroke. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

And I see a whole army of my countrymen here in defiance of tyranny (Braveheart). In this statement, Wallace uses rhetoric to address the crowd. Metonymy is used in this sentence, the use of the term tyranny substitutes what they are actually fighting against on the battlefield, which are the English. Wallace uses the word tyranny because in the film, the English were ruling over the Scottish and the customs in which they ruled, the Scottish saw it as tyranny. The term tyranny establishes logos because it provides the audience reason for what they are about to fight and possibly die for. There is also an appeal to pathos in this sentence because a term like tyranny carries a negative connotation along with it. Kenneth S. To make sense of this, it should first be understood exactly how IBE qualifies its requirement for simplicity, and also what Vogel understands both mundane propositions and skeptical arguments to be comprised of. The assumption that the world works in ways that are simple, implied from the principle of induction, is construed by Vogel to mean that the better explanation would be the belief involving the fewest complexities and least number of parts to argue. Vogel is under the impression that skeptical arguments involve much more complexity in order to make them parallel the ordinary beliefs they aim to compete with, and cites the example that for ordinary properties such as shape and location that could be involved in a mundane proposition, the skeptic would have to invoke a much more elaborate explanation for why we are experiencing pseudo shapes and pseudo locations. This leaves the skeptical argument at a major disadvantage when assessed by IBE s requirement for simplicity, allowing for the mundane proposition to be deemed the better explanation because of its capability to explain things as they are instead of why they appear to be as they are but really are ...
