Grizzly Man Documentary Analysis
Grizzly Man is a more than a documentary than a film. It recorded the real life of Timothy
Treadwell who lived among wild bears in Alaska without any acting. What touched me most is his
unselfish love to wild animals. Not only to bears but also to other animals. These animals became
the most important part in his life. He smiled because of bears. He cried because of bears. He spent
13 years to live with bears without any measures to protect himself. They are bears. That can kill
and tear him into pieces! He said to his friends if he dead someday, that is the way he wanted.
However, he still choose to love them, protect them and fight for them. He loved bears with his
life and he and his girlfriend died because of those bears in the end.

The Use of Birds in Chronical of a Death Foretold by...
In the novel, Chronicle of a Death Foretold by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, birds are used as motifs
intentionally in the imagery of scenes to convey sentiments, ideas and messages to the reader. Some
of the roles taken by the symbolism of birds include indicating signs of the future and afterlife,
supporting character portrayal and development throughout the text. The symbolism of birds is
discussed in the essay because the recurring images of birds have a pertinent significance to the
novella.
In literature, birds are commonly viewed as signs of freedom while in flight, yet while they are
entrapped in cages, they symbolize the struggle for freedom. Gabriel Garcia s usage of birds has
both common and uncommon roles in the novel. The birds ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Santiago seemed happy with his father until the latter died suddenly, three years before,
(Marquez 7). In this sense, the dream about floating through a grove of timber trees where a
gentle drizzle was falling, [...] but [...] he awoke [...] spattered with bird shit, (Marquez 3) ties
into Santiago s life. The birds hold significance in this passage in the metaphor comparing bird
shit to life ruining events. The reader learns more about Santiago when the narrator reveals that
Nasar gained the good arts of valor and prudence (7) from his father and is a merry, peaceful, and
openhearted (8) individual. Furthermore, Santiago is an aggressive wealthy individual that is
compared to a sparrow hawk [...] just like his father, nipping the bud of any wayward virgin who
began showing up in those woods, (90). In the text, falcons are associated with entertainment and
displaying one s status of wealth, and the opening quote by Gil Vicente, the pursuit of love is like
falconry (1) compares the persistent nature of pursuing love to the recreational activity of hunting
with falcons.
Subsequently, the reader becomes aware of Santiago s innocence and naivety. Nahir Miguel
reveals to the narrator that Santiago looked like a little wet bird, (114). Because Marquez
specifically chose a bird as the animal for this image, the birds must hold a certain importance to the

Comparison Of Malcolm X
On the other hand, Malcolm X had a different approach in providing African Americans equality.
Malcolm X believed anything must be done to provide equality for African Americans. For
Malcolm, anything would also be violence, unlike Dr. King who favored on non violence ways
to achieve equality. During 1950 s and early 1960 s Malcolm became a speaker for the Nation of
Islam. Malcolm created newspapers and organized several temples to get his message out. For
Malcolm, whites were devils because they oppressed blacks. Malcolm was one of the leaders that
motivated racial dignity, black power, and economic opportunities for blacks. As the lines in PBS
states Brothers and sisters, the white man has brainwashed us black peopleto fasten our gaze on a
blond haired, blue eyed Jesus! We re worshipping a Jesus that doesn t even look like us! ... The
white man has taught us to shout and sing and pray until we die... it explains that Christianity is
not a religion that Black people can follow. He felt that Christianity is a religion followed by
Whites and we as African Americans cannot follow this religion. Also, Malcolm believed that
nonviolence was a realistic concept as he states, I don t favor violence. If we could bring about
recognition and respect of our people by peaceful means, well and good. Everybody would like
to reach his objectives peacefully. But I m also a realist. The only people in this country who are
asked to be nonviolent are black people (PBS). In other words for him being violent is not needed
but has become necessary. In these lines Malcolm believes that Whites are not peaceful and they
continue to be violent and as a result African Americans are asked to be nonviolent.
Like, Martin Luther King. Malcolm X delivered a speech known as Message to the Grassroots on
November 10th 1963 in Detroit. This speech clearly reflects the differences in viewpoints that
these two men carried and how they believed in different ways of bringing equality for blacks.
Malcolm believed that there could not be a revolution without violence because that is the only
way whites would understand. As stated by Malcolm X, in his speech, To understand this, you
have to go back to what [the] young brother here referred to as

Coffee rust disease is the greatest threat to the coffee...
Coffee rust disease is the greatest threat to the coffee industry worldwide and has the potential to
improve or hurt Brazil s economy while having a significant impact on the United States. Coffee
is second only to petroleum for exports in developing countries. Over 500 billion cups of coffee are
consumed globally each year. The worldwide coffeesupply comes primarily from Central and
South America accounting for 67 percent of production (Goldschein, 2011). Coffee rust disease is
a wind borne fungus that spreads quickly. Once infected, crop yields are significantly reduced
(Arneson, 2000). In their annual reports from recent years, Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts both list
increases in coffee commodity prices and shortages due to increased... Show more content on

As the coffee industry in Brazil grew so did the infrastructure of the country. By the 1900 s
coffee made up 70 percent of exports from Brazil. The increased productivity led to an excess in
the market that coupled with diminished demand caused a Brazilian depression and created
discontent with the current political system that led to dictatorship control (E, 2008) (The
Library of Congress, 2010). With the emergence of a more democratic political system and
deregulation other crops developed as important exports. This was further encouraged by the
government due to a need to have a more diversified economy (The Library of Congress, 2010).
Even with shifting production to other crops Brazil remains an important part of the world s coffee
supply as shown in figure 1.
Figure 1 Worldwide Coffee Exports November 2013 (Statista, 2014)
The coffee grown in Vietnam is Robusta leaving Brazil and Columbia as the two largest sources
of Arabica. Brazil has the largest market share of all coffee production and the largest share of
Arabica production. Arabica coffee plants are more susceptible to coffee rust disease (International
Coffee Organization). In 1869 an outbreak occurred in Ceylon, present day Sri Lanka. This
outbreak affected 90 percent of their crops and shifted their production to tea. Britain, a major
coffee importer and grower in Ceylon at the time, shifted their

Don John Character Analysis
When thinking about the well known comedy Much Ado About Nothing, by William Shakespeare
the audience is quick to focus on the wit and comedy that the play has to offer, rather than the
understated villain who easily disappears in the background. While reading the play, one can posit
that Don John is not the typical villain who acts with a specific motive in mind, rather, he is acting
out of an obligation he feels to serve as an antagonist considering his position as a bastard. This is
demonstrated in his dialogue, which reveals his inner turmoil on being chained to the villainous
role and his willingness to act on any malicious opportunity that presents itself to him. This is
significant in that, it provides another layer to our villain and causes the audienceto think beyond
the first layer that is easily presented, and into the true inner motives of the character.
Don John claims that the resentment people have towards him is rooted in the fact that he is a
bastard and any friendly intentions towards him are fraudulent ones. From the beginning of the play
Don John does not come across as a friendly figure, especially compared to the rest of the soldiers
that come with the party to Messina in a flourish of good and excitement. As Leonato welcomes the
party he seems to implicate that he is extending the welcome on to Don John, because of his
relationship with Don Pedro, the prince and his brother. Don John remarks in a conversation, ...it
better fits my blood to

The League Of Nations By Woodrow Wilson
The league of nations was started after World War I to try to bring peace to this world after this
horrid war we had just been in. It was proposed by Woodrow Wilson, to the allied forces to join
in this league to use arbitration to make decisions on other nations matters so it can be solved
before they try to start a war. This might sound all well but if you think about it, it is impossible
to achieve world peace in general. The League s goals included disarmament, preventing war
through collective security, settling disputes between countries through negotiation and diplomacy,
and improving global welfare. Despite these bold aims, the League proved incapable of
preventing aggression by the fascist powers in late 1930s. The United Nations effectively replaced
it after World War II and inherited a number of agencies and organizations founded by the League.
The opposition to the League of Nationscomes from four sources: The extreme Socialists and
radical revolutionists who look on all measures devised by government as at present constitution as
capitalistic and as bourgeois makeshifts ; from constitutives who considers any change as
dangerous and revolutionary; from Republican party leaders who want to make political capital
against Wilson a democrat, and from those who believe in an extreme nationalism and who feel that
any international agreement will curb American s nationalistic aspirations. The League of Nations
has its roots in a popular support far deeper and

The Socialization Of Lesbian Clients
One of the issues that should be addressed in treatment is the socialization that lesbian clients
participate in. In treatment, it is necessary to give any client tools for recovery. These tools should
include alternative activities that do not revolve around the getting and using of alcohol and drugs.
This may be a difficultly task when dealing with LGBTclients especially since there are not many
options for socialization besides bars, clubs, or parties. In Oklahoma there are about 333 thousand
same sex couples per the 2010 Census (The Williams Institute, 2011). Oklahoma has some
programs and organizations that give the LGBT community different opportunities where they can
meet other members without being surrounded by alcohol and drugs. Two main organizations are
specific geared towards lesbians. Herland offers social and educational services that focus on
lesbian issues but is offer to all women (Herland, 2008). Herland is an excellent organization to
recommend to lesbian clients located in Oklahoma. The second organization is known as
OKCLesbian. Additionally, OKCLesbian offers substitutions for socializations at bars, clubs, and
church. They often have large dinner events called Lez Eat where local lesbians can get together,
have fun, and enjoy a nice meal together. Giving clients different choices to socialize in sobriety
may perhaps increase their likelihood of staying sober and finding new friends to enjoy it with.

In What Ways Does Shakespeare Create Sympathy for Romeo...
During the play Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare manages to effectively depict the tragedy of
Romeo and Juliet s relationship. One way he achieves this is by creating sympathy for Romeo
and Juliet, which consequently affects the reader and audience of the play. Three ways in which
Shakespeare is able to create sympathy for them is through the general setting and plot structure,
the language used, and also the characterisation of Romeo and Juliet. From the very beginning of
the play (in the prologue), Shakespeare begins to create a sense of sympathy for Romeo and
Juliet. Here, the audience is told that these two lovers are star cross d meaning that their love goes
against the stars and is therefore doomed to end in disaster. As a... Show more content on

It is from this rhyming, oxymoronic phrase that the audience can gage how this soft spoken man
was not a figure of hate in reality, but a loving man. Juliet s character is also contrasted to the
frosty nature of Tybalt and the rest of the Capulets she epitomises the innocence of their
relationship. From the start of Act 1 Scene 3, we learn from Lady Capulet that Juliet is still
thirteen years old she s not fourteen . From this, this audience can assume that she is still at that
age of naivety and immaturity, again showing that she does not belong in such a violent feud.
Due to her age, Juliet evidently is a vulnerable character and one that likely does not have the
mental ability to make intelligent choices, such as the decisions against her father s will to not
marry Paris, but to secretly marry Romeo instead a decision that was to become a key factor in
both Romeo and Juliet s death. In addition, Shakespeare creates sympathy for Juliet through her
innocence and good will. Her innocence and good will which is left worthless as she is left in a
situation she cannot to anything about a situation revealed in the prologue as being one that is fated
to end tragically. Throughout the play, Shakespeare uses many different methods to enable the
reader to feel sympathetic towards Romeo and Juliet. The various plot twists provide a dramatic

Descriptive Essay On Hiking
Over the summer, my family and I drove up to Maine in order to visit my grandpa and relax. For
the past couple of years, my dad and I have planned a few days to go hiking. We got into hiking a
couple of years ago when we first discovered Tumbledown Mountain. After our first hike together,
we were entranced by the beauty of nature and peacefulness that we were eager to plan more. This
became a tradition because my dad and I rarely get to spend a lot of time together due to our busy
schedules.
When arriving at Tumbledown Mountain, I was surrounded by brown and reddish leaves that were
scattered on the ground. The trees around me were filled with luscious, vibrant, green leaves that
enchanted my eyes. In addition to the leaves and trees, there was a lot of moss growing on tree
stumps that looked like a small blanket covering an infant. Wild, white mushrooms were also
growing out of the ground, which gave the ground a pop of color. Taking a step out of the car
and onto the leaves, sounded like fire crackling at a camp fire. The sound of the leaves made the
hairs on my arm stick up and filled my skin with small goose bumps. At first the smell of the woods
was unfamiliar, but I soon got used to it and felt at ease. It felt like I was in my own fantasy
where I could escape my troubles and focus on each little detail in the woods.
The path leading up the mountain looked like a never ending hallway. With our hiking shoes and
backpacks, we looked like explorers ready to face our

Loving Two Leading Ladies in The Marriage of Figaro Essay
My happiness is in your hands. 1 This is the Countess plea as Susanna enters the Count s study.
She is about to accept the Count s offer to meet after her wedding at her mistress s request. This
riveting scene in The Marriage of Figaro premiered on the stage of the Burgtheater in Vienna on
May 1st, 1986.2 With the music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozartand the libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte

She was intelligent and compassionate and insightful. This insight is clear to us from the
beginning, as the curtains open on a bedroom, in which Figaro is measuring and Susanna is
preparing her headdress for the ceremony later that day. Their duet begins and Figaro is
measuring dimensions of furniture to a bourree pattern 6 with strong beats, while Susanna sings
a gavotte 7 which is quick and lively, about her beautiful headdress. She calls to Figaro to admire
it, and breaks his pattern. The third beat accent of her melody unsettles Figaro s deliberate
downbeat... interfere[ing] with the valet s concentration... throwing his vocal tallying out of
sync. 8 She fills in his space with a delicate melody that gets him back on tempo and turns his
attention towards her, where he finally acknowledges her headdress and remarks about the
practicality of the room, leading into the second duet. Here we draw the parallel between Figaro s
masculine rhythm and his rationality. His steady downbeats match the logic he uses to take the
Count s gift of the room as an advantage, because it is close to both the Count and Countess s
quarters. Similar to the way Susanna was able to sing Figaro back into place, she uses her global
perspective of the situation to realize the Count wants her close to his room for easier access.
Susanna leads Figaro to this realization, and brings him to the reality of the situation. Using her
insight, Susanna demonstrates

Similarities Between The Song Of Roland And Perceval
The concept of honor and the connection of living our life with honor has been pondered by
philosophers, intellectuals, and the common people. Even as far back as medieval times, the idea
of honor is a key factor in what shapes the rules of society. Knights would try their best to apply
the Code of Chivalryto their everyday lives. The Code of Chivalry is a compilation of rules that
guide the knightto be what was considered honorable in their time. Most knights would try to live
to the code, but it could be seen that knights would violate the code which create a horrible
consequence for him and the people around him. An example could be seen with Roland in The

In medieval times it was called the Code of Chivalry. The knights, who used the Code of
Chivalry, were living in a much different time period than ours; as they lived in a time period
without a strong central power. What this shows, for knights that honor for them is much more
focused on the individual . As Roland and Perceval fails to upheld their version of the code as
their internal conflicts were too much for them to handle. While in the modern era, which is
much more centralized, focuses more on the wellbeing of the group. In our society, being able
to work together with people and make decision based on the welfare of the common people is
an important rule for our people to live with. People in our modern era works based off that
important idea and it is in their nature to work with cooperation and for the welfare of the group.
The knights version of the code in a time era where centralization was lacking was based off
himself ,while in the modern era our focus is shifted from ourself to cooperation and the welfare of

Spotlight Movie Essay
The movie Spotlight is about a group of journalist who work at the Boston Globe. The film follows
the journalist as they investigate allegations against John Geoghan, a priest accused of molesting
over 80 boys. During their investigation, the team of writers discover that there are over 80 more
priests in Boston who have molested children. The journalists are faced with opposition from the

The first quadrant of the graph was used so the shaded portion goes to the origin before it stops at
the two axes.
The point on the graph in the shaded area would be (50, 40). That would mean that 50 feet would
be used for classic rockers and we would use 40 feet for the modern rocker that would be needed.
So to see if the order could be filled we will plug them in to the equation: 15c (50) = 750c for
classic 12m (40) = 480m which equals 750 + 480 = 1230. We can fill the order.
Another point on the graph that is outside the shaded area would be (150, 100). 150 would be for
the classic rocker and 100 for modern. Now, we plug them in to the equation to see if the order can
be filled. 15c (150) = 2250 for classic 12m (100) = 1200 which equals 2250 + 1200 = 3450 which
means the order can t be filled. Now if we use the point on the line we will have (124, 95). So 124
for the classic and 95 for the maple. Let plug them in the equation. 15c (124) = 1860 for classic.
12m (95) = 1140 which equals 1860 + 1128 = 3000, which means we will have enough to fill the
order. Now to see if we can fill the order from the fax we have received. Which was 125 for the
classic and 175 for modern. Let us plug them into the equation. 15c (125) = 1875, 12m (175) =

On the other hand we have real GNP which measures the value of output in two or more different
years by valuing the goods and services adjusted for inflation.
Problems with GNP/GDP
GNP is merely a gross measure of market activity which counts only money transactions and
excludes goods and services (like taking care, cleaning, food preparation) that people provide
each other free. In terms of developed economies like United Kingdom it would not be a huge
difference, however in less developed countries much of its production takes place in the household
economy like growing crops and farming animals for the purpose of the household not selling.
Therefore it would not be included in countries GNP/GDP.
The World Bank itself recognizes many of these problems. Although they reflect the average
incomes in a country, GNP per capita and GDP per capita have numerous limitations when it
comes to measuring people #8217;s actual well being. Taking as example countries which dig oil,
where sheikhs earn millions and other live in poverty, the GNP per capita will count them equal
dividing their income and not showing how equitably income is distributed.
They do not account for pollution, environmental degradation, and resource depletion. As a result
of the problems outlined above, much of GDP can be composed of: fixing

Popularised Explanation Of Memory
Memory is a complicated topic to describe, as its role, theory and application differs from person
to person. A popularised explanation of memory involves a tiered or levelled approach, ranging
from a holistic to a reductionist description (Bilkey, 2016). The Social and cultural level of memory
refers to information stored in museums, libraries and oral history. Individual memoryis another
level of description, and is specific to the person; what they did that day, or ate for example. At the
reductionist spectrum of memory is the biological level, describing the fundamental process in the
body that lead to memory formation, such as synaptic modulation and information encoding in
DNA (Bilkey, 2016). Whichever level is adopted, three processes

Essay The Thought Process of Shakespeare s Hamlet
The Thought Process of Shakespeare s Hamlet
If Hamlet from himself be ta en away,
And when he s not himself does wrong Laertes,
Then Hamlet does it not, Hamlet denies it.
Who does it then? His madness. If t be so,
Hamlet is of the faction that is wrong d;
His madness is poor Hamlet s enemy.
(V.ii.230 235)
Hamlet s self description in his apology to Laertes, delivered in the appropriately distanced and
divided third person, explicitly fingers the greatest antagonist of the play‹consciousness. The
obligatory cultural baggage that comes along with Hamlet heeds little attention to the incestuous
Claudius while focusing entirely on the gloomy Dane s legendary melancholia and his resulting

The chief definition of thought revolves around the basic concept of the mental process: The
action or process of thinking; mental action or activity in general, esp. that of the intellect; exercise
of the mental faculty; formation and arrangement of ideas in the mind (OED, 1a). A further subset
of definitions can be catalogued into a Manichean vision of positives and negatives and which
equally apply to Hamlet s central consideration of consciousness as a blessing or a curse. There is a
stress on thought s potentiality which fits with Hamlet s obsession with the infinitude of man:
Conception, imagination, fancy (OED, 4c). But following this comes the negative view of thought
as quasi action, a direct link to Hamlet s stall tactics: The entertaining of some project in the mind;
the idea or notion of doing something, as contemplated or entertained in the mind; hence, intention,
purpose, design; esp. an imperfect or half formed intention; with negative expressed or implied =
not the least intention or notion of doing something (OED, 4d). Similarly, the past neutral sense of
Remembrance, Е’mind (OED, 5e) is countered by the negative anticipatory connotation of: Anxiety
or distress of mind; solicitude; grief, sorrow, trouble, care, vexation (OED, 5a). This current of
duality is important to keep in mind as we explore its

Gram Stain Lab Report
Purpose: The purpose of a Gram Stain procedure is to distinguish bacteria into two fundamental
groups of cells. There are the Gram positive cells and the Gram negative cells. By staining the
cells either violet or red, we can see the two types and their arrangements on the smear. Theory
and Background: 1.After swabbing some microbes from my cheek, I spread the bacterial smear
on the slide. In order to make them stick to the slide, I hold it near a heat source so they can
attach. Then I flood crystal violet on the smear. The color of violet binds to the Gram positive cell
membranes and to the outer membrane of Gram negative. After waiting about a minute for the dye
to be stain both cells violet, iodine is added to form a strong bond... Show more content on

Some of them were in short chains. I also notices that the Gram negative cells, which were
stained red, are rod shaped. They were spread out across the slide and did not seem to cluster.
Conclusion: 1.After viewing the end result of the Gram Stain, I saw that the Gram positive
bacterial cells were stained violet, while the Gram negative cells were stained red. In the mixed
culture under the microscopes, I was able to notice that the Gram positive cells, Enterococcus
durans, were in clusters of short chains. The Gram negative, Proteus mirabilis, were in rod
shaped forms that were spread across the slide. These cells did not seem to cluster. 2.I came to
this conclusion of which cells were on my slide after I compared my microbes to the physical
and chemical characteristics of the microbes in the textbook. The Gram positive characteristics in
the Gram stain matched up with those of an Enterococcus durans cell. There were some
diplococcic or short chains across the smear. These cells also had the same circular shape. I figured
the Gram negative cells were Proteus mirabilis because of the rod shaped cells that were spread
across the slide

Arete In The Golden Age ) Art, Architecture And Art
The concept of aretГ© in Classical Greek (AKA Golden Age) art, architecture, or thought wc. 249
Arete is an ancient Greek term that describes a man s effectiveness at reaching his full potential
and quality of being best. The arete of something is the highest quality state it can reach. Using
arete as a principle for living life means that you are focused on the quality of everything you do
and experience. Take actions that focus on arete and avoid actions that lack arete. The Golden age
is typically defined as a time of great prosperity and learning. Significant contributions by
philosophers, scholars, and politicians created advancements in thought, art, technology, literature,
and science. As a result, society experienced a period of great excellence and virtue that is still seen
today. Art and architecture during the golden age emphasized the accomplishments of human
beings. Although most art and architecture were meant to commemorate the gods, they were
created in the image of people. Sculpting was a huge influence during this time, artists began to
sculpt people in more relaxed postures with more defined features. The sculptures were meant to
create lifelike images of near perfection like the statue of Zeus at Olympia and the statue of Athena
at Parthenos. The architecture was intertwined with their art detailed and to perfection to the human
eye. A big part of their architecture was the column that can be seen in more infrastructure, like the

A Very Old Man With Wings, by Gabriel Garcia Marquez...
In the story A Very Old Man With Wings , Gabriel Garcia Marquez writes about the discovery of
a big winged old man by a crab hunter named Pelayo. As the world became cloudy, the
appearance of a magical man with wings would scare, excite and bring hope to a neighborhood
for the foreseeable future. This man looked old and defeated, while Pelayo looked at him with a
confused expression, or a mute stupor . Gabriel Garcia Marquez describes the old man as bald
with fading hairs, almost toothless and huge buzzard wings. How can someone like this exist, look
the way he looks but possess such restraint and internal power? They tried speaking to the angel but

That s when the priest was suspicious of the angel and even considered the fact that he could be
an imposter of some kind, simply because he did not understand the language of God or know
how to greet his ministers . Gabriel Garcia Marquez would keep readers wondering what this
creature was; a man or an angel? Meanwhile as most came to ridicule, some actually would come
to seek the help of the angel, by hoping he really was magic and could cure all of their health
issues. The angel would take no part in this act, so with human tendencies Gabriel Garcia
Marquez would illustrate that the angel had a form of magic but also possessed a human soul.
Why would Gabriel Garcia Marquez use magic in this story? Maybe magic symbolizes faith in a
higher power that possesses powers a normal human being would know nothing about. Gabriel
Garcia Marquez describes the characters in this story as being greedy and wanting resolutions
from the angel. Pelayo and his wife wanted money, the priest wanted proof and other villagers
wanted answers. It wasn t fair and that s why Gabriel Garcia Marquez would say that the angel
didn t involve himself in his own circus, as he would ignore the crowds and crawl into the dirty
hot corner and do his best to lay in peace. The question still remained is he an angel or not? George

Goldman Sachs Case
It was announced Friday April 16, 2010 that Goldman Sachs is now under review by the SEC
regarding fraudulent practices. The short of it is that Goldman Sachs may have been one of the
biggest players in the sub prime mortgage decline, due to their lending of these types of loans. An
investigation is being launched to see if and how they may have defrauded customers.
Unfortunately, the investigation is going to take time, so anyone who had dealings with Goldman

The question is, Is this the right decision? Should you be betting your personal finances on loans
that are considered every bit as bad as a fraudulent mortgage company loan?
Here is why you might want to avoid the payday loans if you are in dire debt troubles. A payday
loan is a short term loan with little regulation. In other words, the companies have found a loop
hole that allows them to charge you high interests in a short period of time. There is also a fee
associated with the cash advance. If you are in a situation where you cannot pay the loan back on
the due date, and in full, you are just creating more debt for yourself.
On the other hand, if it is possible to pay it all back and avoid the hefty interest fees, it could be a
sound decision to get you through the month. The reality is that most individuals seeking payday
loans are already behind in payments and obtaining this type of loan could make it even worse.
You have other personal finance decisions you could make. You could seek a debt consolidation
loan through a bank or consolidation loan company. You could sell your car to raise the needed

The Expectations For A Nursing Home
Nursing homes are places where people go who either can no longer care for themselves or
never were really able to without special professional care. With this being said, the expectations
for nursing homes are set high because no one wants their loved one to be left alone in a place far
from home that isn t healthy for them. My visit to The Renaissance wasn t at all like I expected it
to be. The expectations for a nursing homeshould be clean, in a safe and quiet area, and also I
think it should have the some of the best nurses working for them. As I was walking outside
looking at the building before I walked in I can tell that everything is very well kept to maintain
a good appearance to the outsiders. Then I walked in to speak with the receptionist for the
visitors pass, the lobby looked very nice, the smell was amazing, and everything was very
organized and clean. There was only one flaw about the lobby; the receptionist was on the phone
the whole time I was trying to speak to her about the work there. Usually, there s an exception
when the lady behind the desk answers the phone for a customer but she obviously had to have
been speaking with a friend or family member because of the way she spoke to them. This was
extremely rude and inappropriate.
I received my visitor s pass and made my way to the other door to where everyone is. The first
thing the hits you when your open the door is the smell. This smell was very bad; it was a smell of
urine and bowel movements.

encounters Behrani s reminiscent nature, regarding his old life of luxury and status,

The Political Definition Of Fascism
For the average citizen of a nation, the political definition of fascism and even the word itself
has been left out of people s everyday vernacular. The most recent extent of fascism that people
can remember is Adolf Hitler s era of political control over seventy two years. In recent decades,
however, European Countries and even the United States of America have seen a recent rise in
fascist leaning ideologies and political parties due in part to online development, Immigration and
elections trends, and a paradoxical view of tolerance. These recent trends have signaled that fascism
is still a problem and presents a clear danger to society and democratic principles at large. While
the general ideology was technically developed by Italian Dictator and ally to Hitler, Benito
Mussolini, it is Adolf Hitler himself who is best known as the face of fascist movements of the
past and movements today. In early 1930 s Germany, Hitler was able to capitalize on the social
and economic woes of a country who felt disenfranchised and left behind by the world. By
promoting ideas of German nationalism including a strong German military, a strong pure
German culture and nation, and using minority groups such as the Jew s as a scapegoat, Hitler
was able to take control of Germany and institute a Fascist system of government and create the
similar ideological trends we see in Fascist idea s and similar groups today. Today fascism as an

The Pros And Cons Of Being Against Open Marriage
Reasons why everyone should be against open marriage is because you married the person that
you wanted to love and spend the rest of your life with. You are breaking the marital vows. When
marrying someone you are making a commitment to be loyal. According to J.B. Chachila, What we
commit to be not just to take on that person, to uphold that person s dream, and to meet that person
s needs. We actually commit to becoming one that person. When people have a open marriageis
when one companion breaks the pre established rules of marriage. Open marriages show that
your love and commitment should be questioned because why marry someone when all they
want to do is go out and do things with other people while married. If two people are perfect for
each other than they shouldn t be in an open marriage because they are together because they are
supposedly perfect for each other. If you aren t happy with the person you are currently married
to then what was the point of marrying them in the first place. Before you are officially you say
special marital vows to each other to promise that you be there for better or for worse, in sickness
and in health. According to Romans 7:3, Accordingly, she will be called an adulteress if she lives
with another man while her husbandis alive. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law, and
if she marries another man she is not an adulteress. The reason everyone says vows is because

Enzymes Essays
Enzymes Enzymes are complex proteins that carry out essentially every chemical reaction in the
human body. Enzymes function as biological catalyst, regulating the rate at which chemical
reactions proceed without themselves being altered in the process.
In this particular experiment we recognized benzoquinone and examined two numbers of factors to
determine their effects on enzyme action. The factors were temperature and specificity (how
discriminating the enzyme is in catalyzing different potential substrates). The enzyme that we
examined was catechol oxidase also known as tyrosinase.

DISCUSSION
1. We know that the substrates of catechol oxidase are catechol and oxygen. The substrates react
with one another within the active site of the enzyme. The products formed by this reaction are
benzoquinone and water. In this exercise we mixed the ingredients, stirred them, and incubate them
at 40В°C. We formed in tube 2a the product benzoquinone, observed its color change, and
established a color intensity scale.
2. In our second exercise we determined the ability of the enzyme cathecol oxidase to catalyze the
oxidation of two different but structurally similar substrates: cathecol and hydroquinone. Examining
their chemical structure we noticed that both are ring structures with two hydroxyl groups attached.
The question was if the enzyme could also convert it to benzoquinone. We observed how
discriminating cathecol oxidise is for particular substrates by comparing the color intensity of the
solutions in each test tubes with the standards produced in the first section (Table 1). We recorded
them in Table 2.
After 10 min we recorded the color intensity in Table 3. Our conclusion was that cathecol is stronger
enzyme than hydroquinone and that the enzyme is simply too specific to interact with the similar
but not identical molecule.

Community based Corrections
Another tool used to help with the overcrowding issue facing prisons and jails is the court s
utilization of community based corrections. This type of sentencing is utilized for lesser
offenses when a judge feels that an offender may not warrant prison or jail time. One popular
tool within community based corrections is electronic incarceration, also referred to as house
arrest (Schmallager, 2011). The offender is fitted with an electronic device, usually around the
ankle. The device sends a signal to officials monitoring the offender if they violate the electronic
radius that the device is programmed to (Schmallager, 2011). This is a good way to incarcerate an
offender while not adding to the overcrowding of the jails and prisons. Two other community based
corrections programs are probation and parole.
Probation and Parole
Some offenders are sentenced to parole instead of being sentenced to jail or prison. The goal of
probation is maintain some type of control and supervision over criminal offenders while
rehabilitating them through community programs (Schmallager, 2011). As was stated before,
some offenders are sentenced to parole instead of being sentenced to jail or prison. However, in the
majority of cases, offenders are in fact sentenced to a jail or prison sentence only to have that
sentence suspended and then placed on probation (Schmallager, 2011). There are certain conditions

America was founded on several principles to include, that all men are created equal. However,
throughout history, it has been made clear through the various social classes that this is not the case
within the realm of monetary value. It is for reasons such as this that the entitlement programs were
born. Entitlementprograms were created to provide security and assistance to those in need. They
would allocate basic necessities for eligible persons and families to live comfortably until they are
no longer necessary. Though a great deal of people across the country have benefited from these
programs, it has come at a high cost to the government and the taxpayers. Because of the apparent
success and high expenses, there are a number of arguments both for and against entitlement
programs. This includes the extent of their benefits and costs, the amount spent to fuel them, and
even their entire existence. On one hand, they have proven value by significantly reducing the
national poverty level and other similar successes; on the other, they cost the country millions and
have been adding to the ever increasing national deficit. Another common school of thought, is that
an increasing number of individuals or families have become completely dependent on them as they
create an avenue to stability at no cost to them. The overwhelming and unnecessary volume of
goods and services including medicaid, unemployment compensation, and food stamps that
entitlement programs supply to many

Define Worldview And What Happens To A Human Being
INTRODUCTION Waking up in the morning thinking about why, how, when and what is the
importance of the world we live in and the interactions with others mean to us. Defining worldview
is essentially a commitment, a fundamental orientation of the heart, that can be expressed as a story
or in a set of presuppositions that we hold about the basic constitution of reality, and that provides
the foundation on which we live and move and have our being (Sire, 2016).On the other hand
spirituality holds the essence of our existenceon this earth. Spirituality makes someone feel the
connection to something. This is where our beliefs comes in. It depends on which religionyou
belong to, to define spirituality better. Spirituality is the wellspring of divinity that pulsates, dances,
and flows as the source and essence of every soul.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Believing that God created man in His own image is what I believe. Some people view the human
being as a highly complex machine, a sleeping god, a person made in the image of God, a naked
ape (Sire, 2016, p12). Whatever people believe, God is the answer to this question and they is no
doubt that God created a human being.
What Happens to a Person at Death? Most religions do not believe life after death. Most of them
believe in incarnation. But as a Christian, I believe they is heaven and hell. If you are living right
with God, your soul goes back to heaven but if not, you go hell. As the bible says in Revelation
20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the
beast and the false prophet [are], and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever (King
James Bible, 2016, p.6).
Why is it Possible to Know Anything at All? You understanding about the existence of God and
the world depends on what you believe. As bible talks about the creation of the world and that
God exists is what I have been taught and know since I was

Analysis Of Alfred Hitchcock s Use Of Mis En Scene
The story line of a film can be regarded as an important criterion when selecting an audience s
preference. Yes, the plot is critical when it comes to sitting still for 2 3 hours straight. However,
the excellence of that, sparks from daring and theatrical ideas that directors build on through
detailed and carefully constructed forms of art. Mis en scene forms the basis of a films
captivating ability, which can be furthered through auteuristic skill that a director projects. It is a
combination of these key forms of art that allow us, as an audience to grasp exactly what it is we
are viewing, and why we find ourselves fighting that mid movie urge for a bathroom break. Mis en
scene simply refers to the setting and surrounding of an event within film. This element of a film is
another way for a director to add more detail to an important scene, or to simply enhance an
atmospheric understanding. Alfred Hitchcocks use of mis en scene within a film accompanies his
rich portrayal of suspense, avidly depicted throughout the majority of his films. Mis en scene
incorporates a large number of features including costume design, actors, lighting, props, colour
and sound. A good director knows how to use Mis en scene to create a better all round picture
and story line for his/her film. If a directors use of mis en scene is successful, the audience is able
to have a clear understanding of even the subtlest features of the story line. It is through the control
of mis en scene that the

Essay Present Day Macroeconomy
After nearly two years of sluggish economic growth, the pace of economic expansion has finally
began to accelerate. Today the U.S. economy is strong and getting stronger. After experiencing a
series of significant shocks during the previous years recession, dot com collapse and stock market
meltdown, terrorist attacks, and corporate wrongdoing, the American economy has managed to
remain optimistic. Over the past three quarters, real GDP has grown at the fastest pace in nearly
twenty years. Job creation is moving into full gear. The economy has posted steady job gains for
each of the last ten months creating more than 1.5 million new jobs since August. Inflationremains
low by historical standards, with the CPI (Consumer Price... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

One explanation for this deceleration is due in part to the increased number of imports the United
States had during the second quarter.
To comprehend GDP as an indicator of economic activity, we must fully understand each of its
four sub categories. Consumption is the spending by households on goods and services, with the
exception of purchases of new housing. Personal consumption expenditures are broken down into
durable goods, nondurable goods, and services. The Bureau of Labor Statistics states that personal
consumer expenditures have been increasing every quarter from August of 2003 to August of 2004
with a gradual deceleration. The percent change from August 2003 to August 2004 on all item
expenditures is 2.1%. The majority of these expenditures are found in services. According to The
Heritage Foundation, Policy Research and Analysis, the workforce is transitioning. Already over
80 percent of United States workers are in the service industry, mostly with high skills and pay.
Manufacturing jobs have declined from 17 million in the late 1990s to 14.4 million jobs today.
Knowing that our economy is putting continual emphasis on service business, it easy to understand
why this area of the economy is where most of Americans money is spent. Nondurable goods follow
close behind; as they seem to contain the necessities and fundamental expenditures every household
endures. These include food,

We have always dreamed about reaching the heavens. From ancient civilizations to the modern
day world, our obsession of going into space has grown from studying the stars to actual
exploration of space. We have come a long way since primitive charts of constellations. From
telescopes to satellites, we as a population have progressed greatly in the world of technology. In a
mere forty years, we have had more technological advancesthan the Industrial Revolution. The
Space Race has affected our everyday lives; we use the same technology that the astronauts used
during their missions for example digital clocks (Dismukes http://spaceflight.nasa.gov). Many

As the Germans were advancing in their knowledge, technology, and expertise in the field of
rocketry, the purpose of rockets had shifted from military to a civilian project. The government had
deemed the project unacceptable, and terminated it.
When the Germans showed the world that reaching the stars was not a far fetched idea, it was
possible to do an unbelievable feat of science and engineering. Although the German rocket project
was terminated, they had started the basis of modern day rocketry. The dream was growing to
enormous proportions. Various nations were interested in this technology, especially the U.S.S.R.
and later the United States of America (Snedden 9).
At Approximately the same time the government terminated the rocket project World War II was
coming to an end. The Soviets had captured Germany; and seized the technology, physicists, and
engineers, who had been working on the rocket project and later forced to work for the Russians
(Neal 39). With the material seized during World War II, the U.S.S.R. established a space program.
Twelve years later Russia launched the first successful satellite, Sputnik 1.
Sputnik consisted of a sphere the size of a basket, with four antennae transmitting various amounts
of information. As news of Sputnik spread throughout the world, it shocked and astounded the

When confronted with a taxidermy owl placed on the ground, brown thorn bills mimic the alarm
calls that other bird species make in response to predators on the ground. *Although mimicry
may have survival benefits in the wild, in the safety and shelter of our homes, a pet bird learns to

The Trade Networks And The Persian Civilizations
1.Which had a larger impact on the Persian civilizations trade networks, diffusion of food and
goods, spread of religion, or spread of disease? Please explain all 4 and choose one overall. I
think the trade networks had a larger impact on the Persian civilizations. I believe the promotion of
trade and economic integration by building and maintaining roads and issuing currencies
determines the empire s success. The trade network linked lands from India to Egypt in a vast
commercial zone. Various regions of the Persian empires contributed to the larger imperial economy
and specialization of production. The trade growth was promoted by promoted by: relative political

Therefore, the trade networks had a larger impact on the Persian civilizations. 1.Explain the basics
of Zoroastrianism. How did it shape Persian cutlure? How did Persian culture shape it?
Zoroastrianism is a religion that influenced the development of Christianity and Manichaeism. It
believes in the role of individuals determining their own fate and emphasizes the duality of good
and evil. Early Aryan influences on Persian religious traditions. Zarathustra (late 7th early 6th
centuries BCE) is the founder of Zoroastrianism. He believes that Ahura Mazda had chosen him to
be a prophet. In the sixth century BCE, Zoroastrianism attracted Persian aristocrats and ruling elites.
It also influenced Judaism, Christianity and later, Islam. When Alexander of Macedonia defeated
Darius III in battle, Alexander conquered most of the Persian territories. This caused Zoroastrianism
to receive a huge blow since many priests were killed and texts were destroyed. Most Zoroastrians
in Persia during this time fled to India to escape prosecution. 1.Compare the political method(s) that
allowed the Seleucids, Parthians, and Sasanids to maintain strong imperial rule. The Seleucus
inherited most of Achaemenid when Alexander died. They retained the Achaemenid system of
administration The Parthians, based in Iran, extend to Mesopotamia. They were seminomadic
Parthians that drove the Seleucus out of Iran. They had a federated governmental structure and had

World War Two Causes and Effects Essay
World War II: Causes, and Affects In the history of the world there are many occurrences that
have changed life and the world, as we know it. The history of conflicts in the world is just as
long as the histories of man have bee recorded. From the beginning the human species survived
off of conflict (between various predators and the environment) and has been nourished by the
fruits of war since before the rise of the Roman Empire. World conquest has been the goal of
many great generals and a great many Kings. Through the years there were many conflicts that
were thought to be the worst that ever was and the worst that would ever be (World War I in
particular). World war two is said to be the war to end all wars, because of the leaders,... Show more

The rise of the Nazi party can be linked to the growing bitterness of the German people, and the
economic struggles the country was going through at the time. The Nazi party promised to
protect Germany from Communism while promising employment for all. These ideals soon
attracted armies of people to the Nazi party. They continued to grow in power organizing a
private army of dissatisfied, ambitious, and angry people. The League of Nations that was
created in 1920 recognized them as a threat. The idea behind the League was to settle disputes
before they could come to blows. It was however ineffective in the extreme because it was only
political forum and didn t have any military power to back up it s policy. The Axis collation was
formed after Hitler came to power in Germany. He came to power when the Reichtag (capital
building) of Germany burned down he suspended the constitution and crushed all opposition. Both
Italy and Germany were secretly rearming, but at this time they were still too weak to challenge
Britain, and France. During this time the US had been practicing Isolationism and was withdrawn
from European problems. The Axis came about when the Fascists Nazis and the Japanese
totalitarians came together to form an alliance. This was known as the Berlin Rome Tokyo Axis in
October of 1936. Japan and Italy formally quit the League of Nations at this time. The purpose of
the Axis was to unite the three countries

  • 2. Grizzly Man Documentary Analysis Grizzly Man is a more than a documentary than a film. It recorded the real life of Timothy Treadwell who lived among wild bears in Alaska without any acting. What touched me most is his unselfish love to wild animals. Not only to bears but also to other animals. These animals became the most important part in his life. He smiled because of bears. He cried because of bears. He spent 13 years to live with bears without any measures to protect himself. They are bears. That can kill and tear him into pieces! He said to his friends if he dead someday, that is the way he wanted. However, he still choose to love them, protect them and fight for them. He loved bears with his life and he and his girlfriend died because of those bears in the end. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Use of Birds in Chronical of a Death Foretold by... In the novel, Chronicle of a Death Foretold by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, birds are used as motifs intentionally in the imagery of scenes to convey sentiments, ideas and messages to the reader. Some of the roles taken by the symbolism of birds include indicating signs of the future and afterlife, supporting character portrayal and development throughout the text. The symbolism of birds is discussed in the essay because the recurring images of birds have a pertinent significance to the novella. In literature, birds are commonly viewed as signs of freedom while in flight, yet while they are entrapped in cages, they symbolize the struggle for freedom. Gabriel Garcia s usage of birds has both common and uncommon roles in the novel. The birds ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Santiago seemed happy with his father until the latter died suddenly, three years before, (Marquez 7). In this sense, the dream about floating through a grove of timber trees where a gentle drizzle was falling, [...] but [...] he awoke [...] spattered with bird shit, (Marquez 3) ties into Santiago s life. The birds hold significance in this passage in the metaphor comparing bird shit to life ruining events. The reader learns more about Santiago when the narrator reveals that Nasar gained the good arts of valor and prudence (7) from his father and is a merry, peaceful, and openhearted (8) individual. Furthermore, Santiago is an aggressive wealthy individual that is compared to a sparrow hawk [...] just like his father, nipping the bud of any wayward virgin who began showing up in those woods, (90). In the text, falcons are associated with entertainment and displaying one s status of wealth, and the opening quote by Gil Vicente, the pursuit of love is like falconry (1) compares the persistent nature of pursuing love to the recreational activity of hunting with falcons. Subsequently, the reader becomes aware of Santiago s innocence and naivety. Nahir Miguel reveals to the narrator that Santiago looked like a little wet bird, (114). Because Marquez specifically chose a bird as the animal for this image, the birds must hold a certain importance to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Comparison Of Malcolm X On the other hand, Malcolm X had a different approach in providing African Americans equality. Malcolm X believed anything must be done to provide equality for African Americans. For Malcolm, anything would also be violence, unlike Dr. King who favored on non violence ways to achieve equality. During 1950 s and early 1960 s Malcolm became a speaker for the Nation of Islam. Malcolm created newspapers and organized several temples to get his message out. For Malcolm, whites were devils because they oppressed blacks. Malcolm was one of the leaders that motivated racial dignity, black power, and economic opportunities for blacks. As the lines in PBS states Brothers and sisters, the white man has brainwashed us black peopleto fasten our gaze on a blond haired, blue eyed Jesus! We re worshipping a Jesus that doesn t even look like us! ... The white man has taught us to shout and sing and pray until we die... it explains that Christianity is not a religion that Black people can follow. He felt that Christianity is a religion followed by Whites and we as African Americans cannot follow this religion. Also, Malcolm believed that nonviolence was a realistic concept as he states, I don t favor violence. If we could bring about recognition and respect of our people by peaceful means, well and good. Everybody would like to reach his objectives peacefully. But I m also a realist. The only people in this country who are asked to be nonviolent are black people (PBS). In other words for him being violent is not needed but has become necessary. In these lines Malcolm believes that Whites are not peaceful and they continue to be violent and as a result African Americans are asked to be nonviolent. Like, Martin Luther King. Malcolm X delivered a speech known as Message to the Grassroots on November 10th 1963 in Detroit. This speech clearly reflects the differences in viewpoints that these two men carried and how they believed in different ways of bringing equality for blacks. Malcolm believed that there could not be a revolution without violence because that is the only way whites would understand. As stated by Malcolm X, in his speech, To understand this, you have to go back to what [the] young brother here referred to as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Coffee rust disease is the greatest threat to the coffee... Coffee rust disease is the greatest threat to the coffee industry worldwide and has the potential to improve or hurt Brazil s economy while having a significant impact on the United States. Coffee is second only to petroleum for exports in developing countries. Over 500 billion cups of coffee are consumed globally each year. The worldwide coffeesupply comes primarily from Central and South America accounting for 67 percent of production (Goldschein, 2011). Coffee rust disease is a wind borne fungus that spreads quickly. Once infected, crop yields are significantly reduced (Arneson, 2000). As the coffee industry in Brazil grew so did the infrastructure of the country. By the 1900 s coffee made up 70 percent of exports from Brazil. The increased productivity led to an excess in the market that coupled with diminished demand caused a Brazilian depression and created discontent with the current political system that led to dictatorship control (E, 2008) (The Library of Congress, 2010). With the emergence of a more democratic political system and deregulation other crops developed as important exports. This was further encouraged by the government due to a need to have a more diversified economy (The Library of Congress, 2010). Even with shifting production to other crops Brazil remains an important part of the world s coffee supply as shown in figure 1. Figure 1 Worldwide Coffee Exports November 2013 (Statista, 2014) The coffee grown in Vietnam is Robusta leaving Brazil and Columbia as the two largest sources of Arabica. Brazil has the largest market share of all coffee production and the largest share of Arabica production. Arabica coffee plants are more susceptible to coffee rust disease (International Coffee Organization). In 1869 an outbreak occurred in Ceylon, present day Sri Lanka. This outbreak affected 90 percent of their crops and shifted their production to tea. Britain, a major coffee importer and grower in Ceylon at the time, shifted their ... • 8. Don John Character Analysis When thinking about the well known comedy Much Ado About Nothing, by William Shakespeare the audience is quick to focus on the wit and comedy that the play has to offer, rather than the understated villain who easily disappears in the background. While reading the play, one can posit that Don John is not the typical villain who acts with a specific motive in mind, rather, he is acting out of an obligation he feels to serve as an antagonist considering his position as a bastard. This is demonstrated in his dialogue, which reveals his inner turmoil on being chained to the villainous role and his willingness to act on any malicious opportunity that presents itself to him. This is significant in that, it provides another layer to our villain and causes the audienceto think beyond the first layer that is easily presented, and into the true inner motives of the character. Don John claims that the resentment people have towards him is rooted in the fact that he is a bastard and any friendly intentions towards him are fraudulent ones. From the beginning of the play Don John does not come across as a friendly figure, especially compared to the rest of the soldiers that come with the party to Messina in a flourish of good and excitement. As Leonato welcomes the party he seems to implicate that he is extending the welcome on to Don John, because of his relationship with Don Pedro, the prince and his brother. Don John remarks in a conversation, ...it better fits my blood to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The League Of Nations By Woodrow Wilson The league of nations was started after World War I to try to bring peace to this world after this horrid war we had just been in. It was proposed by Woodrow Wilson, to the allied forces to join in this league to use arbitration to make decisions on other nations matters so it can be solved before they try to start a war. This might sound all well but if you think about it, it is impossible to achieve world peace in general. The League s goals included disarmament, preventing war through collective security, settling disputes between countries through negotiation and diplomacy, and improving global welfare. Despite these bold aims, the League proved incapable of preventing aggression by the fascist powers in late 1930s. The United Nations effectively replaced it after World War II and inherited a number of agencies and organizations founded by the League. The opposition to the League of Nationscomes from four sources: The extreme Socialists and radical revolutionists who look on all measures devised by government as at present constitution as capitalistic and as bourgeois makeshifts ; from constitutives who considers any change as dangerous and revolutionary; from Republican party leaders who want to make political capital against Wilson a democrat, and from those who believe in an extreme nationalism and who feel that any international agreement will curb American s nationalistic aspirations. The League of Nations has its roots in a popular support far deeper and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. The Socialization Of Lesbian Clients One of the issues that should be addressed in treatment is the socialization that lesbian clients participate in. In treatment, it is necessary to give any client tools for recovery. These tools should include alternative activities that do not revolve around the getting and using of alcohol and drugs. This may be a difficultly task when dealing with LGBTclients especially since there are not many options for socialization besides bars, clubs, or parties. In Oklahoma there are about 333 thousand same sex couples per the 2010 Census (The Williams Institute, 2011). Oklahoma has some programs and organizations that give the LGBT community different opportunities where they can meet other members without being surrounded by alcohol and drugs. Two main organizations are specific geared towards lesbians. Herland offers social and educational services that focus on lesbian issues but is offer to all women (Herland, 2008). Herland is an excellent organization to recommend to lesbian clients located in Oklahoma. The second organization is known as OKCLesbian. Additionally, OKCLesbian offers substitutions for socializations at bars, clubs, and church. They often have large dinner events called Lez Eat where local lesbians can get together, have fun, and enjoy a nice meal together. Giving clients different choices to socialize in sobriety may perhaps increase their likelihood of staying sober and finding new friends to enjoy it with. Alcoholics Anonymous is one of the ... • 11. In What Ways Does Shakespeare Create Sympathy for Romeo... During the play Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare manages to effectively depict the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet s relationship. One way he achieves this is by creating sympathy for Romeo and Juliet, which consequently affects the reader and audience of the play. Three ways in which Shakespeare is able to create sympathy for them is through the general setting and plot structure, the language used, and also the characterisation of Romeo and Juliet. From the very beginning of the play (in the prologue), Shakespeare begins to create a sense of sympathy for Romeo and Juliet. Here, the audience is told that these two lovers are star cross d meaning that their love goes against the stars and is therefore doomed to end in disaster. As a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is from this rhyming, oxymoronic phrase that the audience can gage how this soft spoken man was not a figure of hate in reality, but a loving man. Juliet s character is also contrasted to the frosty nature of Tybalt and the rest of the Capulets she epitomises the innocence of their relationship. From the start of Act 1 Scene 3, we learn from Lady Capulet that Juliet is still thirteen years old she s not fourteen . From this, this audience can assume that she is still at that age of naivety and immaturity, again showing that she does not belong in such a violent feud. Due to her age, Juliet evidently is a vulnerable character and one that likely does not have the mental ability to make intelligent choices, such as the decisions against her father s will to not marry Paris, but to secretly marry Romeo instead a decision that was to become a key factor in both Romeo and Juliet s death. In addition, Shakespeare creates sympathy for Juliet through her innocence and good will. Her innocence and good will which is left worthless as she is left in a situation she cannot to anything about a situation revealed in the prologue as being one that is fated to end tragically. Throughout the play, Shakespeare uses many different methods to enable the reader to feel sympathetic towards Romeo and Juliet. The various plot twists provide a dramatic ... For the past couple of years, my dad and I have planned a few days to go hiking. We got into hiking a couple of years ago when we first discovered Tumbledown Mountain. After our first hike together, we were entranced by the beauty of nature and peacefulness that we were eager to plan more. This became a tradition because my dad and I rarely get to spend a lot of time together due to our busy schedules. When arriving at Tumbledown Mountain, I was surrounded by brown and reddish leaves that were scattered on the ground. The trees around me were filled with luscious, vibrant, green leaves that enchanted my eyes. In addition to the leaves and trees, there was a lot of moss growing on tree stumps that looked like a small blanket covering an infant. Wild, white mushrooms were also growing out of the ground, which gave the ground a pop of color. Taking a step out of the car and onto the leaves, sounded like fire crackling at a camp fire. The sound of the leaves made the hairs on my arm stick up and filled my skin with small goose bumps. At first the smell of the woods was unfamiliar, but I soon got used to it and felt at ease. It felt like I was in my own fantasy where I could escape my troubles and focus on each little detail in the woods. The path leading up the mountain looked like a never ending hallway. This riveting scene in The Marriage of Figaro premiered on the stage of the Burgtheater in Vienna on May 1st, 1986.2 With the music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozartand the libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte , the Italian opera was an adaption of Pierre Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais play The Follies of a Day or, The Marriage of Figaro. This insight is clear to us from the beginning, as the curtains open on a bedroom, in which Figaro is measuring and Susanna is preparing her headdress for the ceremony later that day. Their duet begins and Figaro is measuring dimensions of furniture to a bourree pattern 6 with strong beats, while Susanna sings a gavotte 7 which is quick and lively, about her beautiful headdress. She calls to Figaro to admire it, and breaks his pattern. The third beat accent of her melody unsettles Figaro s deliberate downbeat... interfere[ing] with the valet s concentration... throwing his vocal tallying out of sync. 8 She fills in his space with a delicate melody that gets him back on tempo and turns his attention towards her, where he finally acknowledges her headdress and remarks about the practicality of the room, leading into the second duet. Here we draw the parallel between Figaro s masculine rhythm and his rationality. His steady downbeats match the logic he uses to take the Count s gift of the room as an advantage, because it is close to both the Count and Countess s quarters. Similar to the way Susanna was able to sing Figaro back into place, she uses her global perspective of the situation to realize the Count wants her close to his room for easier access. Susanna leads Figaro to this realization, and brings him to the reality of the situation. Using her insight, Susanna demonstrates ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Even as far back as medieval times, the idea of honor is a key factor in what shapes the rules of society. Knights would try their best to apply the Code of Chivalryto their everyday lives. The Code of Chivalry is a compilation of rules that guide the knightto be what was considered honorable in their time. The letters, from the Archdiocese addressed to John Geoghan, describe the crimes Geoghan committed. Instead of publishing the story and letters immediately, Mike s boss, Robby, wants him to wait. This prompts arguably, the best monologue of the film. Mike says This is not just Boston. This is the whole country, the whole world. They knew and they let it happen! • 19. Ozark Furniture Inequailtiy Essay Ozark Furniture Inequality Mat: Introduction to Algebra Ozark Furniture Inequality For this assignment we are use two rockers that Ozark Furniture makes and assign variable to them then and then write a linear inequality for them. The linear inequality I will be solving is: a store faxes an order of 175 modern rocking chair and 125 classic rocking chair to Ozark Furniture and so will they be able to fill it. I will demonstrate my solution and include the mathematical work to solve it. I am going to use a graph, which I will not be able to attach to my document, but will show you how to use them and the findings. Inequality has been hard for me to understand but I hope for this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first quadrant of the graph was used so the shaded portion goes to the origin before it stops at the two axes. The point on the graph in the shaded area would be (50, 40). That would mean that 50 feet would be used for classic rockers and we would use 40 feet for the modern rocker that would be needed. So to see if the order could be filled we will plug them in to the equation: 15c (50) = 750c for classic 12m (40) = 480m which equals 750 + 480 = 1230. We can fill the order. Another point on the graph that is outside the shaded area would be (150, 100). 150 would be for the classic rocker and 100 for modern. Now, we plug them in to the equation to see if the order can be filled. 15c (150) = 2250 for classic 12m (100) = 1200 which equals 2250 + 1200 = 3450 which means the order can t be filled. Now if we use the point on the line we will have (124, 95). So 124 for the classic and 95 for the maple. Let plug them in the equation. 15c (124) = 1860 for classic. 12m (95) = 1140 which equals 1860 + 1128 = 3000, which means we will have enough to fill the order. Now to see if we can fill the order from the fax we have received. Which was 125 for the classic and 175 for modern. Let us plug them into the equation. 15c (125) = 1875, 12m (175) = 2100, which equals 1875 + 2100 = ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Studying development is essentially about measuring how developed one country is compared to other countries or to the same country in the past. It is common knowledge that each country is aiming to be defined as developed. For us is to determine which measure is a better representative of how country is developed HDI or GNP per capita. Firstly, we will define what economic development is. Secondly we will compare Gross National Product and Gross Domestic Product. Thirdly, we will outline the problems with these indicators. On the other hand we have real GNP which measures the value of output in two or more different years by valuing the goods and services adjusted for inflation. Problems with GNP/GDP GNP is merely a gross measure of market activity which counts only money transactions and excludes goods and services (like taking care, cleaning, food preparation) that people provide each other free. In terms of developed economies like United Kingdom it would not be a huge difference, however in less developed countries much of its production takes place in the household economy like growing crops and farming animals for the purpose of the household not selling. Therefore it would not be included in countries GNP/GDP. The World Bank itself recognizes many of these problems. Although they reflect the average incomes in a country, GNP per capita and GDP per capita have numerous limitations when it comes to measuring people #8217;s actual well being. Taking as example countries which dig oil, where sheikhs earn millions and other live in poverty, the GNP per capita will count them equal dividing their income and not showing how equitably income is distributed. They do not account for pollution, environmental degradation, and resource depletion. As a result of the problems outlined above, much of GDP can be composed of: fixing ... The chief definition of thought revolves around the basic concept of the mental process: The action or process of thinking; mental action or activity in general, esp. that of the intellect; exercise of the mental faculty; formation and arrangement of ideas in the mind (OED, 1a). A further subset of definitions can be catalogued into a Manichean vision of positives and negatives and which equally apply to Hamlet s central consideration of consciousness as a blessing or a curse. There is a stress on thought s potentiality which fits with Hamlet s obsession with the infinitude of man: Conception, imagination, fancy (OED, 4c). But following this comes the negative view of thought as quasi action, a direct link to Hamlet s stall tactics: The entertaining of some project in the mind; the idea or notion of doing something, as contemplated or entertained in the mind; hence, intention, purpose, design; esp. an imperfect or half formed intention; with negative expressed or implied = not the least intention or notion of doing something (OED, 4d). There are the Gram positive cells and the Gram negative cells. By staining the cells either violet or red, we can see the two types and their arrangements on the smear. Theory and Background: 1.After swabbing some microbes from my cheek, I spread the bacterial smear on the slide. In order to make them stick to the slide, I hold it near a heat source so they can attach. Then I flood crystal violet on the smear. In the mixed culture under the microscopes, I was able to notice that the Gram positive cells, Enterococcus durans, were in clusters of short chains. The Gram negative, Proteus mirabilis, were in rod shaped forms that were spread across the slide. These cells did not seem to cluster. 2.I came to this conclusion of which cells were on my slide after I compared my microbes to the physical and chemical characteristics of the microbes in the textbook. The Gram positive characteristics in the Gram stain matched up with those of an Enterococcus durans cell. There were some diplococcic or short chains across the smear. The products formed by this reaction are benzoquinone and water. In this exercise we mixed the ingredients, stirred them, and incubate them at 40В°C. We formed in tube 2a the product benzoquinone, observed its color change, and established a color intensity scale. 2. In our second exercise we determined the ability of the enzyme cathecol oxidase to catalyze the oxidation of two different but structurally similar substrates: cathecol and hydroquinone. Examining their chemical structure we noticed that both are ring structures with two hydroxyl groups attached. The question was if the enzyme could also convert it to benzoquinone. We observed how discriminating cathecol oxidise is for particular substrates by comparing the color intensity of the solutions in each test tubes with the standards produced in the first section (Table 1).
