What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Japanese Food
Traditional Japanese cuisine is based on rice with miso soup and other dishes, with an emphasis on
seasonal ingredients. Side dishes often include; fish, pickled vegetables, and vegetables cooked in
broth. Fish is commonly served grilled but can also be served raw as sashimi or in sushi. Seafood and
vegetables are also deep fried in light batter as tempera. Apart from rice, important foods include
noodles such as soba and udon. The five most important ingredients are; 1. Rice. There are two main
types of rice. Uruchimai which is slightly sticky and is used for sushi and most japanese rice dishes
and Mochigome is a more sticky variety of rice that is used for mochi and mochi like foods. 2. Shoyu.
Shoyu (soy sauce) adds another dimension to taste known as umami. 3. Dashi. A type of Japanese
soup, sauce cooking stock with umami flavor that s critical to countless Japanese dishes. 4. Mirin.
Cooking sake that s typically higher in sugar and lower in alcohol than regular sake. 5. Miso. A type of
japanese cooking stock made by fermenting soybeans, rice or other grains. Miso has an addictive taste
as does most fermented ingredients. One of the most popular ... Show more content on

Papers On Irena Sendler
Irena Sendler
Over 400,000 Jews were imprisoned in the Warsaw ghettos. Tilar J. Mazzeo s Irena s Children
inspired further research. Irena Sendler was born February fifteenth, 1910 in Warsaw, Poland. Her
father was a small town doctor who helped everyone no matter of their religion. Helping others no
matter their religion was extremely rare during that time in Poland because there was a lot of hate
towards Jews. He taught her to be kind to everyone no matter what religion they were. Her father was
her biggest inspiration throughout her life. When she was faced option to leave or stay and help during
world war 2 she choose to stay. Her decision to stay allowed her to save over 2,500 Jewish lives. Irena

Children were separated from their parents. Once their parents were safe she believed that they should
be reunited with them. Irena wrote down every kids name and where they were staying. Sendler wrote
down all relevant information in a special code on used cigarette papers she collected, ( Irena Sendler,
[World Biography] 2). Using code allowed her to know where they were but no one else could get that
information. But just writing in code wasn t safe enough. These lists of names were then put in jars
and buried in the yard of a friend s house at 9 Ledarska Street in Warsaw, ( Irena sendler, [World

to reunite them with there parents but unfortunately were died. Most of the Ghetto families had died at
the Treblinka death camp, ( Irena Sendler, [World Biography] 3). Despite her best efforts she wasn t

that happen, but most of their parents died during the world. The effort she made was notable because

Perseverance Book Report
This year, I came across a book titled Perseverance! The Story of Thomas Alva Edison (Murray,
1997). This book is a short timeline of Thomas Edison that highlights his many achievements along
with his many failures in his pursuit of accomplishment. I read this to my students in hopes they
would recognize the importance of having the courage to take a risk and the resilience to keep trying.
My students loved this book and we referred back to it throughout the year. In combination with a
growth mindset, I encouraged them to take risk, even though it might result in failure, and learn how
to persevere. I agree that there is a decline in the measure of grit in today s classroom, but also
recognize that a teacher can promote and encourage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I will admit this is something I have expressed my opinion about as well. My kids are very involved in
sports, especially competitive baseball. I have mixed feelings about this. When competing in a
tournament, there are no participation medals or such thing as third place. I have two boys, both with
different levels of self confidence, and see not only the difference in their attitude, but also in how I
respond to their disappointments. Is this fair? I am not sure it is, but in one child I am still developing
resilience and determination, and in the other I am further building on his desire to achieve. I have
raised them both with the same values and have supported their self worth the same, however, where
one is lacking in courage and resilience, the other has endurance and drive. My eldest boy is not
confident and is afraid of failure. I often add yet when encouraging him to try again. He is prone to
give up and assume there is no chance of success. My youngest son is determined, confident, and
driven. I find myself using the term next time quite often and not really focusing on the individual
aspect. This begs to question, how is grit cultivated? As discussed in our text, the affective domain
represents a time for emotional development and coping strategies (Kostelnik, Soderman, Whiren,
Rupiper, 2015). During this time, it is essential that teachers are able to recognize a child s emotions,
help to develop resilience, and promote self worth. Providing an environment where children feel safe
to take a risk in the classroom and feel confident to try again in the face of

How Fashion Photography Has Changed Throughout The Years
In this essay I am going to discuss how fashion photography has evolved throughout the decades.
Some of the subjects I am going to discuss are; the beginnings of fashion photography, the different
styles of fashion photography, and fashion magazines.
Fashion photography is a genre of photography in which clothing and other material garments are
photographed for the purpose of displaying in a fashion magazine or for the use in an advertisement.
This style of photography has been around since the early days of photography itself, however the first
fashion photographs didn t surface until 1856. Photographer Adolphe Braun took the first fashion
photographs of Virginia Oldoini, Countess of Castiglione. These photographs were published into a
book which contained over 200 other photographs of the Countess. Due to these photographs the
Countess became the first ever fashion model. In the 1990 s printing advancements meant that
photographers could include their work in magazine spreads. This allowed fashion magazines like
Vogue and Harper s Bazaar (which were both founded in the 1800 s) to include photographs. These
magazines were initially hand illustrated but the new developments in printing meant that fashion
magazines were able to show photographs of what the clothing actually looked like ... Show more

Some of these can include catalogue/look book images, editorial images, and high fashion images.
Each genre requires a different approach because they each have a specific style requirement to fulfil.
For example, catalogue images need to show a set wardrobe of clothing so that the brand/company can
sell more of the items, the poses that the models are in are very simple and the images are very clean
cut. On the other hand, high fashion images are styled completely different. High fashion images are
made to look out of the ordinary with dramatic clothing and exaggerated

Bible And Leadership In The New Oxford Annotated Bible
Throughout the class Bible and Leadership we the class have learned of leaders that caused great
change. The greatest leader of the The New Oxford Annotated Bible the man who gave birth to the
New Testament, Jesus Christ. The class textbook The Art of Leadership by Manning and Curtis splits
leadership into three types teacher, Hero and Ruler. The book even describes Jesus as a teacher since
teachers and rule breakers. It is apparent that Jesus is a rule breaker since he values worship over
societal rules Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands
before they eat. Jesus answered them And why do you break the commandment of God for the sake of
your tradition? (New Revised Standard Version, Matthew 15.2,3) Jesus rocked the establishment
saying that the society should never trump the reason for society and that is the commandment. Jesus
was also a hero since he was responsible for great causes and noble works. In Jesus s time Judaism
and Jewish society was based around the concept of hierarchy, some people on top but most are on the
bottom. Jesus helped perpetuate egalitarian philosophy with a simple sentence Do to others as you
would have them do to you (New Revised Standard Version, Luke 6.31). This was and still is a great
cause to champion for, equality and fairness. Though the text described the concept of rulers as
aggressive, cold and calculative with the likes of Napoleon, Caesar and Hitler but even though Jesus
was none of those things he was still a ruler. A ruler that knew how to lead his disciples and followers.

How To Pursue My K-12 Magnet School
As I nervously walked off the bus, I looked towards my new family who beckoned me towards them
with signs and open arms. After hearing the Spanish sounding blur coming out of my new sister s
mouth, I could only produce a blank stare in response. I immediately came to the realization that
living in a Spanish speaking culture would not be as easy as I had expected, and my ten years of
classroom Spanish would not be enough. This was a living language that I would have to learn and
adjust to. Despite the preparation undergone for this trip of a lifetime, I quickly became overwhelmed

My K 12 magnet school is one of the very few schools in the country that teaches students at an early
age how to entertain multiple ideas by using Paideia seminars which incorporate open ended questions
centered around a thought provoking text. Understanding how to maintain my own ideas and opinions
while accepting others was an important skill for this journey. The idea that there is no right or wrong,
just different, was something I had not been able to fully understand until my foreign study
experience. For example, Argentineans ability to vote before they could drive seemed strange to me,
but I began to realize that Americans driving at 16 was just as strange. It became apparent that easing
my way in wouldn t be an option, having just six weeks to make my best attempt at cultural
immersion. Just drinking mate , the bitter, loose leaf tea nearly all of Argentina drinks, was an
experience. Overcoming the American perspective on sweetness and the sharing of drinks was
difficult, as I watched teachers and students drinking from the same metal straw and steaming gourd

Outline the possible reasons as well as how you would correct the problem.
Have you ever gone online to checkout a website? And as you browsed through, you add things to
your shopping cart as you go along. At the end you decide to go to your shopping cart and go through
the process as if you were going to check out, you look at your total and decide to come back later.

But there are ways that online stores can minimize shopping cart abandonment. They must ensure that
their store is user friendly. During the shopping process always allow your customer to review the
steps they have taking as well as the product at anytime (Tuttle, B., Sep 27, 2012). Using an online
comparison tool is always a great thing. Ensure that your online shopping process is clear and easy to
follow. You must keep a clear count of what you have in stock. This will allow the customer to
purchase more than one item. Using icons of the product in the shopping cart is also a great way to let
the customer see what they are purchasing when they are viewing their carts. Be clear on your return
policy. You can also send reminders to your customer to let them know that they have items in their
shopping cart. It is also a good idea not to empty the carts too soon. You want to try and keep them
active for at least 60 days (Tuttle, B., Sep 27, 2012).

Analysis Of The Winter Of 2013 A Sinkhole
Introduction In the winter of 2013 a sinkhole took the life of Jeffrey Bush in Seffner, Florida. He was
lying in bed when the ground collapsed beneath his bedroom. Death from sinkhole formation is rare,
but sinkhole collapses are a common occurrence throughout the state of Florida (Brinkmann, 2013,
p.1). Natural hazards, such as sinkholes, can detrimentally impact society and the environment.
Indeed, sinkholes can reroute surface runoff into aquifers; cause structural damage to roads and
buildings; drain wetlands; and as shown in the example above, have fatal consequences.
Florida s growing population corresponds with an increase in urbanization throughout the state, which
results in the accelerated development of groundwater and land resources. Sinkholes are naturally
occurring phenomena, but their increasing frequency throughout Florida correlates with the
accelerated development of these resources (Tihansky, 1999, p.121). Together, Figures 1 and 2
visually display the correlation between Florida s growing population and the increase in sinkhole
development from 1960 to 2000.
Anthropogenic factors such as groundwater pumping, combined with certain environmental conditions
associated with a lowered base water level (e.g. drought and hurricanes), can result in sinkhole
development. For example, the excessive pumping of groundwater can create subsurface voids
because of the lowering of the water table, which can lead to the development of sinkholes due to
gravity and the

World War One Essay
Question and answer format of everything in world war 1 1. Machine guns: These weapons were first
used in the American Civil War to devastating effect. But with World War One their effectiveness
reached frightening new levels. Firing up to 600 bullets a minute (the equivalent of 250 men with
rifles), Machine Guns were then deemed to be ‘weapons of mass destruction . Machine guns would
often be grouped together to maintain a constant defensive position. 2. Artillery: These were the new

The basic idea of a flamethrower is to spread fire by launching burning fuel. The earliest
flamethrowers date as far back as the 5th century B.C. These took the form of lengthy tubes filled with
burning solids (such as coal or sulphur), and which were used in the same way as blow guns: by
blowing into one end of the tube the solid material inside would be propelled towards the operator s
enemies. 11. Trench Mortars: As with the grenade the mortar was yet another old weapon which found
a new lease of life during World War One. A mortar is essentially a short, stumpy tube designed to fire
a projectile at a steep angle (by definition higher than 45 degrees) so that it falls straight down on the
enemy. From this simple description it will be immediately apparent that the mortar was ideally suited
for trench warfare, hence the common application of the trench prefix. 2. What is no man s land: No
Man s Land is the term used by soldiers to describe the ground between the two opposing trenches. Its

Tissue Replacement
2.0 Conventional Methods of Tissue Replacement
This section will discuss the current methods of tissue replacement. We will look at the strengths and
weaknesses of these methods. The conventional methods in use today are Biological Replacement
such as organ donation, and Artificial Replacement such as Pacemakers.
2.1 Biological Replacement
There are four main types of tissue in the body; muscle, connective, epithelial, and nervous tissues [].
In this paper, I will be covering the replacement of both hard and soft tissues. As organs are the most
frequently replaced body part I will be covering them separately
2.1.1 Organ Donation
Organ Donation is the most widely used methods of replacing tissues. Many cities and Countries have
programs that encourage donating your body after death, many with the phrase One organ donor can
save up to eight lives. The same donor can also save or improve the lives of up to 75 people by

Organs are in short supply and the demand is growing, there are more patients worldwide needing
organs than registered donors [2]. The wait time for organs differs between organs such as three weeks
for a heart, but 15 months for a kidney [3]. Another risk is infection or rejection. Rejection is where
the body s own cells attack the new tissue as it does not recognize the tissue as part of the body.
Depending on the organ rejection rates can range from fifty to just seven percent [][]. Many recipients
will see symptoms of organ rejection, however, this is routinely caught and treated before full
rejection can occur. Infection is also a risk of organ transplantation, while eighty percent of patients
have no reaction, fifteen percent have chronic viral infections, and 10 percent have frequent rejection
episodes caused by infection

Where Atoms Come From We Are All Star Stuff
Chapter Four: Where Atoms Come From: We Are All Star Stuff
1. How are elements with atomic numbers greater than iron s atomic number formed? (1 mark)
Elements with atomic numbers greater than iron s atomic number form during the formation of a
supernovae, also known as a mini bang. The process begins when a massive star has depleted its
supply of magnesium and silicon, and only has a bare iron ore remaining. Now, the star no longer has
the energy to maintain its immense mass against the force of gravity, and as a result, the entire star
collapses. This process fuses together electrons and protons in the core, which forms neutrons. After
neutrons build up in the ore, the star recoils in the form of an explosion. During the explosion, the
neutrons attach to iron atoms in the ore, and begin converting back to protons and electrons. As a
result, iron atoms are able to become different elements with greater atomic numbers.
2. Explain how Patterson determined the age of the Earth (4.55 billion years old)? (2 marks)

When a massive star depletes all of its magnesium and silicon supply, it will only have an iron ore
remaining. At this point, they will not have enough energy to sustain the inner pull of gravity, and the
star will collapse. During this process, electrons and protons will combine to form neutrons in the ore.
When the ore is filled with neutrons, a rebound will occur, and everything will explode outwards,
during which the neutrons will surround the iron atoms and will separate into protons and electrons.
Now, the iron atom has excess of protons and electrons, which means that it is a different and heavier
element, as the number of protons have increased. Heavier elements like gold get made during this
process, when iron atoms gain

The Segregation Of African American Culture
I feel for the most part the characteristics in this united or consistent with my experience in the African
American culture. Slavery did set us back some years, but I have to say it has made us stronger. Most
of us had to face great obstacles to get in a good place, but no matter what we keep making it through
the adversity. After slavery, we as a culture had to make it through the jim crow laws. This sparked the
civil right movement that gave blacks a voice to speak out against the injustice that had been quietly
dealt with for years. In most of these different processes blacks had to face a criminal justice system
that never seemed to be on their side. Blacks had to literally practice before the went up to testify in
court in the justice system because of the very rigid injustice presented in courts. Blacks did earn their
right to vote in the justice system, and they did earn their freedom in the justice system, but the justice
system was geared for whites and not blacks, but through actual quoting the actual law, blacks was
able to fight for their freedom. The actual law did protect its people. but it is what people inject into
laws the are discriminating. Later, came the muslim movement that made blacks realise that they
control their own destiny. African Americans has even came up as for in the middle class, but the
problem is that it is a big gap between the low class and the middle. Most Blacks feel they cannot trust
the police, and I believe it is from the past.

There are few cases with why the Guam has ended in the shortage of the water. The first reason is
because the Guam is located near to the equator, which makes the humidity very high leading to the
evaporation of the water into the air. The climate of Guam is average 80 degrees Fahrenheit and the
highest temperature ever recorded was 96 degrees Fahrenheit, meaning that Guam is very hot island
enough to evaporate the water. The second reason is the wastes created by the humans. According to
Pacific Daily News who wrote How to Conserve Water During the Drought it stated that the wastes

Fast Food And Obesity
FOOD MATTERS: RESEARCH Obesity in children increases the more hours they watch television.
Children s exposure to TV ads for unhealthy food products (i.e., high calorie, low nutrient snacks, fast
foods and sweetened drinks) are a significant risk factor for obesity. In very young children, research
has found that for every one hour increase in TV viewing per day, there are higher intakes of sugar
sweetened beverages, fast food, red and processed meat, and overall calories (48.7 kcal/day). Excess
weight can be gained by the addition of only 150 calories a day. Other research has found that children
who watch more than three hours of television a day are 50 per cent more likely to be obese than
children who watch fewer than two hours. Food and beverage advertising targeted at children
influences their product preferences, requests and diet. The food and beverage industry has resolved to
self regulate their marketing to children, but this has not resulted in significant improvement in the
marketing of healthier food (i.e., fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low fat or non fat milk or dairy
products, lean meats, poultry, fish and beans) to children. Almost three out of every four foods
advertised to children falls into the unhealthy categories that contribute to the obesity epidemic. Food

completely dominated by unhealthy food products (34 percent for

The Charity Organization Society
1. The Charity Organization Society was based in the scientific movement of organizations. Workers
believed that charity work needed more definition and organization and that charity should be focused
more on individual need rather than as a whole population. Focusing on individual need was intended
to improve relief operations while making resources more efficient. They also intended to eliminate
public outdoor relief. With the promotion of more organization and efficiency the new Charity
Organization Societies were born. Trattner states that these new requirements for organization and
efficiency spread so rapidly that within 6 years 25 cities had such organizations and by the turn of the
century there were some 138 of them in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This evidence made it clear that dependency was linked to misfortune rather than misconduct
(Trattner, 1999). The new conclusions about poverty made way for reform in poverty relief; within
this reform where the roots of the Settlement House Movement lie.
The Settlement House Movement was a response to the Charity Organization Society who had made
little efforts to improve living and working conditions of the poor. Where C.O.S had friendly visitors
Settlement House workers considered themselves social reformers rather than charity workers
(Trattner, 1999). Their approach was to prevent ails that the poor suffered from such as urban living
and working conditions. They also attempted to bridge the gaps between classes and races. These
workers were not interested in just giving out financial or verbal relief they were trying to reform
society and the way the poor were viewed.
This new ideology of the Settlement House Movement was very different from that of the C.O.S who
had focused on individual need rather than looking at society as a whole as a cause of poverty. Where
C.O.S provided spiritual uplift the Settlement House Movement promoted social and economic
change (Trattner, 1999). C.O.S workers focused on dependency while Settlement House workers were
concerned with the reasons behind poverty. Settlement House workers focused on equality within their

Relationship Between Media And Social Networks
Whether you want to or not, it is essential to engage in relationship marketing now. It is important to
build relationships with people who are actively talking about your niche and looking for answers to
their problems. While many people are still searching for answers through the search engines, most
people are hanging out in forums and on social networks. If you can create relationships with the right
people, then your business has a much higher chance of being successful.
The problem is that most of us don t have a lot of time to market on both forums and social networks,
so it is important to find the most effective place to actively participate and build relationships. Which
one is right for you? There are a few things to consider.
You Have To Enjoy Using The Platform
Whether you choose to do marketing through forums or social networks, it is important that you enjoy
the atmosphere and the way you interact with others. If you don t, then you will not willingly devote
your time to interacting and building relationships on that platform, and the people you interact with
will feel as though they are being marketed to, which is not what relationship marketing is all about.
For instance, social networking requires you to not only interact with your stuff, but also interact with
other people s stuff a lot. If you don t really enjoy commenting on relevant posts, interacting with
relevant people, or promoting other people s relevant content, then you may find a

The Balanced Scorecard ( Bsc ) Essay
The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) is a great invention in the business area due to the utility. This essay
will demonstrate the feature and the usage of the Balanced Scorecard, the historical development and
the usefulness of BSC. Then the essay will analyse why BSC is suitable for the company to acquire
another company. What is the Balanced Scorecard? The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) is a powerful
diagnostic tool which provides managers with a vision and strategy of the organization to completely
value the performance of the organization(Roussas Mccaskill 2015). BSC integrates financial
measures with several crucial factors to create a long or short term plan(Huang 2009). This system
emphasizes leading and lagging indicators, internal performance perspectives, and quantitative and
qualitative objectives (Roussas Mccaskill 2015). BSC works by four perspectives:  How do
customers see us? (customer perspective)  What must we excel at? (internal perspective)  Can we
continue to improve and create value? (innovation and learning perspective)  How do we look to
shareholders? (financial perspective)(Kaplan Norton 1992) Each aspect should be put into a table with
goals and measures. Companies should translate goals into specific measures. AS the result companies
could know how the results are achieved(Kaplan Norton 1992). Briefly describe its historical
development. BSC was firstly introduced by Kaplan and Norton in 1992(Kaplan Norton 1992).
However, original BSC has its

Voter Id Laws
Voter ID Laws Fraud or Fraud Prevention?
Voter ID Laws, now present in some form or another in thirty states, require individuals to show
government issued identification in order to cast a ballot on Election Day. The debate over the need
for such laws has never been more important. Voter ID laws were brought to the forefront of American
politics in the most recent presidential election as a result of President Elect Donald Trump s
insistence that the election process in America is riddled with wide spread voter fraud. His claims of a
rigged election were printed, broadcast, and proliferated through social media for the majority of his
campaign. Such claims, if factual, should certainly be immediately rectified. The United States is built
on the integrity of its election process and maintaining that integrity is paramount. The issue at hand
is: Are these claims of widespread voter fraud fact or fiction? The key driver in the debate over Voter
ID laws is whether or not such laws are intended to prevent voter fraud or whether the laws
themselves are a form of government endorsed fraud intended to suppress the vote of specific
populations. The fact remains that neither the President Elect nor the states implementing Voter ID
laws have been able to produce evidence of election rigging or widespread voter fraud. As such,
without evidence of the need for the supposed protection from fraud that these laws are intended to
provide, we can only conclude that such laws are not

Nursing Documentation Essay

quality assurance . Documentation is a material that provides official information or evidence or that
serves as a record. It is also known as record keeping. Documentation helps to protect the welfare of
patients and clients which is the fundamental aim of nurses everywhere (Nursing and midwifery
council 2002). Documentation in nursing involves a full description of assessment and care given. It
includes information about the patient needs and all the necessary care that was rendered and the
response to the actions. 8.2 PERSONAL CONTEXT Documentation has been of great relevance in
the line of my duty. When actions or care are rendered to patients or client without been documented,

Documentation also improves better care by facilitating effective communication between nurses and
other caregivers. 8.5 CURRENT RESEARCH In a record study, quality nursing documentation was
discovered to improve communication between caregivers which helped to facilitate continuity of care
and individually of care (Bjorwell et al 2000, Voutilainen et al 2004). The quality of documentation
was measured by using various audit instruments. A systematic review of quantitative and qualitative
studies about nursing documentation audits and reports was undertaken. Audit approaches focused on
three natural dimensions of nursing documentation/structure or format, process and content. Flaws of
nursing documentation were identified. Researchers should pay more attention to accuracy in
documentation, focus on factors leading to differences in practice and also the faults in quality of
documentation and it s effect in nursing

Should A Motorcycle Be An Outlaw That Is The Question
To Be or Not To Be an Outlaw That Is the Question As a result of many years of growing up around
fast cars and motorcycles, I became very interested in learning how to ride a motorcycle. Of course,
once I was old enough to learn to ride my parents feared the idea of their oldest child being on a bike
because of the risk of being hurt or even at the worst case of death. But, that never changed my mind
on getting a motorcycle. So once I saved for several years. The day had finally come; I was so excited
I could not wait to purchase a motorcycle. So my husband and I went to go look at a gorgeous 2007
GSXR 600; in which I purchased. After, about a year of riding the bike my husband introduced the
idea of being a part of a motorcycle club. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first type of signal that is used to indicate that someone sees a cop is to pat the top of their head;
anytime someone sees a cop they will do this to warn others in the group. A second type of signal is
the hand signals to show the people riding in the group on if they are turning left or right. The hand
sign for turning left is to hold your left arm straight out and the signal for turning right is extend the
left upper arm out to the left horizontally and angle your forearm vertically. The hand signs for left
and right are almost always done when the patch member has a passenger. In addition the rider will
also use his or her turn signals on the bike. The reason for the extra signals are to ensure others on the
road can see what the members on the motorcycles are intending to do. I learned the values and norms
of the MC world. As a patch member the club is a second family. The members in the group are your
brothers and sisters. In addition to them being your family respect is a big deal when being in the club.
Respect is earned and not giving to anyone. Also in an MC there are guidelines for how the group is
supposed to ride. In the MC world the club will either ride two bikes side by side or in a stagger style.
The reason for having a certain way to ride is for the safety of the people in the group. The stagger
style is more known in the motorcycle club that

I do but I can t (Herdt, G., Kertzner, R., 2006), the inequalities of marriage are not issues that are new
or just starting to make the news in this recent decade. There have been centuries upon centuries of
individual fighting for the right to marry. What do these individuals look like and why can t they be

Term Limits Essay
Term Limits There is a movement sweeping the United States that state legislatures, by virtue of the
Tenth Amendment, have the constitutional power to establish a new qualification for federal office,
specifically, a restriction on the number of terms their congressional delegations may serve in
Washington. The legal battleground covers two sections of the Constitution. Proponents of term limits
will highlight Article I, Section 4, which they say gives each state the authority to prescribe the time,
place and manner of congressional elections, therefore delegating to the local level the rules of who
gets to run. Opponents will counter that such an interpretation of the Constitution is much too broad.
They will also point out that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Constitution requires a specified period of citizenship, residency in the state represented, and
attainment of a certain age. The Convention also established the length of terms for all elective offices,
but voted against any limits on re eligibility or the number of consecutive terms that would be
allowed. The absence of term limits in the Constitution was not an oversight, Proposals to limit
elected officers to a specified number of terms were introduced at least three times during the 1787
Convention but were rejected, not because anyone deemed term limits to be a state prerogative, but
because terms limitation would be redundant, For the most part, short terms would encourage more
accountability than limited terms. In his notes on the Convention, James Madison records: Frequent
elections are necessary to preserve the good behavior of rulers. They also tend to give permanency to
the Government, by preserving that good behavior, because it ensures their re election. Two year terms
for the House and other constitutional restraints limited the amount of mischief federal officers might
be inclined to indulge in. Federal powers, being few and defined, were well understood, and elected
officials who exceeded their mandate, or who abused those

1984
In the face of pain there are no heroes George Orwell s 1984 is a brilliant commentary on the dangers
of totalitarianism, mind control, technology and both physical and psychological manipulation. The
novel s protagonist, Winston Smith, is a very pensive and curious man. He is desperate to uncover the
roots behind the twisted caste system that has been set in place by an organization called the Party.
The Party demonstrates absolute control over every aspect of life in Oceania (formerly London). They
are a totalitarian organization using language as a mind control device as well as psychological and
physical intimidation and manipulation in order to keep its citizens, or effectively its slaves, in line.
One thing always holds true ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He goes to unbelievable lengths in order to rebel against the Party. He commits various crimes
throughout the book ranging from simply writing, Down with Big Brother in is illegal diary to having
a forbidden love affair with a woman named Julia and everything in between. He even gets himself
accepted into the anti Party brotherhood. However, it is only through the great efforts that Winston
goes through carrying out his rebellion that the true effect of the power of the party can be seen. The
beginning of the parties control stems from their ability to use language as a mind control device. In
Oceania, if you want to keep a secret, you must also hide it from yourself. The Party implements a
new language called Newspeak which simply eliminates any potentially disloyal words from the
vocabulary. Orwell uses this to illustrate the point that language is the most crucial part in the
generation of unique and original human thought. Without language, the formation of thought is
nearly impossible. Even the conceptualization of an idea questioning the Party s absolute power is
made impossible by Newspeak. Therein lies another issue; once the Party controls language they have
the ability to exercise psychological and physical intimidation and manipulation over the society.
Winston comes to a terrifying realization, nothing is worse than physical pain, for after all, how do we
know that two and two make four? Or, that they force of gravity works? Or that they

Harmonization Of International Patent Law
Today, business often crosses the boundaries and thus inventors are required to protect their inventions
in the countries where they wish to operate. Patent systems of different countries are different and this
creates much problem. They are often very reluctant to do business in countries where protection is
very less or almost nil for their invention. Thus, neither inventor nor the countries enjoy the benefit of
patent. If we examine rules of different countries then many differences can be found but at the same
time many similarities can also be traced out. However, by effort and cooperation many of these
differences can be minimized. Harmonization is considered as a tool for minimizing these differences
of patent system of different countries.
The term harmonization can be defined in many ways. In its narrow sense, it can be defined as,
countries negotiating agreement to follow the same substantive regulation . Hansson has given a
broader definition of harmonization as the coordination of economic policy actions and measures in
order to reduce international differences in such actions.
Harmonization of international patent law means creation of uniform patent laws around the world. It
can be said that it means the patent rules which are streamlined and made equal in all national and
regional patent system. Thus, we can say that the term harmonization is a very broad concept and
includes every measure to bring patent system of different countries together so

Managers perform a crucial role in organizations because they interpret company policy, execute

employee feedback up the chain. They are probably the most important ingredient in an organization s
success and they are frequently the most overlooked. But make no mistake about it managers are the

Brief History Of Computers Essay
The history of computers is a long and fascinating one. The computer was initially born out of
necessity, not just for entertainment, which is more or less how much people utilize computers these
days. In fact, computers were born out of a need to solve a serious number crunching crisis. By 1880,
the U.S. population had grown so large that it took more than seven years to tabulate the U.S. Census
results. The government sought a faster way to get the job done, giving rise to punch card based
computers that took up entire rooms. (Zimmermann) Today, we carry more computing power on our
smartphones than was available in these early models. The following brief history of computing is a
timeline of how computers evolved from their humble beginnings to the machines of today that surf
the Internet, play games and stream multimedia in addition to crunching numbers. (Zimmermann)
1801: In France, Joseph Marie Jacquard invents a loom that uses punched wooden cards to
automatically weave fabric designs. Early computers would use similar punch cards. 1822: English
mathematician Charles Babbage conceives of a steam driven calculating machine that would be able
to compute tables of numbers. The project, funded by the English government, is a failure. More than
a century later, however, the world s first computer was actually built. 1890: Herman Hollerith designs
a punch card system to calculate the 1880 census, accomplishing the task in just three years and
saving the government $5

Side dishes often include; fish, pickled vegetables, and vegetables cooked in broth. Fish is commonly served grilled but can also be served raw as sashimi or in sushi. Seafood and vegetables are also deep fried in light batter as tempera. Apart from rice, important foods include noodles such as soba and udon. The five most important ingredients are; 1. Rice. There are two main types of rice. Uruchimai which is slightly sticky and is used for sushi and most japanese rice dishes and Mochigome is a more sticky variety of rice that is used for mochi and mochi like foods. 2. Shoyu. Irena Sendler was born February fifteenth, 1910 in Warsaw, Poland. Her father was a small town doctor who helped everyone no matter of their religion. Helping others no matter their religion was extremely rare during that time in Poland because there was a lot of hate towards Jews. He taught her to be kind to everyone no matter what religion they were. Her father was her biggest inspiration throughout her life. When she was faced option to leave or stay and help during world war 2 she choose to stay. Her decision to stay allowed her to save over 2,500 Jewish lives. Irena Sendler had a notable effect on ... Irena wrote down every kids name and where they were staying. Sendler wrote down all relevant information in a special code on used cigarette papers she collected, ( Irena Sendler, [World Biography] 2). Using code allowed her to know where they were but no one else could get that information. But just writing in code wasn t safe enough. These lists of names were then put in jars and buried in the yard of a friend s house at 9 Ledarska Street in Warsaw, ( Irena sendler, [World Biography] 3). The list was safe from the Naxis hands because she buried it. She kept this list in order to reunite them with there parents but unfortunately were died. Most of the Ghetto families had died at the Treblinka death camp, ( Irena Sendler, [World Biography] 3). Despite her best efforts she wasn t successful at reuniting them. • 4. Perseverance Book Report This year, I came across a book titled Perseverance! The Story of Thomas Alva Edison (Murray, 1997). This book is a short timeline of Thomas Edison that highlights his many achievements along with his many failures in his pursuit of accomplishment. I read this to my students in hopes they would recognize the importance of having the courage to take a risk and the resilience to keep trying. My students loved this book and we referred back to it throughout the year. In combination with a growth mindset, I encouraged them to take risk, even though it might result in failure, and learn how to persevere. I agree that there is a decline in the measure of grit in today s classroom, but also recognize that a teacher can promote and encourage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I will admit this is something I have expressed my opinion about as well. My kids are very involved in sports, especially competitive baseball. I have mixed feelings about this. When competing in a tournament, there are no participation medals or such thing as third place. I have two boys, both with different levels of self confidence, and see not only the difference in their attitude, but also in how I respond to their disappointments. Is this fair? I am not sure it is, but in one child I am still developing resilience and determination, and in the other I am further building on his desire to achieve. I have raised them both with the same values and have supported their self worth the same, however, where one is lacking in courage and resilience, the other has endurance and drive. My eldest boy is not confident and is afraid of failure. I often add yet when encouraging him to try again. He is prone to give up and assume there is no chance of success. My youngest son is determined, confident, and driven. I find myself using the term next time quite often and not really focusing on the individual aspect. This begs to question, how is grit cultivated? As discussed in our text, the affective domain represents a time for emotional development and coping strategies (Kostelnik, Soderman, Whiren, Rupiper, 2015). During this time, it is essential that teachers are able to recognize a child s emotions, help to develop resilience, and promote self worth. • 5. How Fashion Photography Has Changed Throughout The Years In this essay I am going to discuss how fashion photography has evolved throughout the decades. Some of the subjects I am going to discuss are; the beginnings of fashion photography, the different styles of fashion photography, and fashion magazines. Fashion photography is a genre of photography in which clothing and other material garments are photographed for the purpose of displaying in a fashion magazine or for the use in an advertisement. This style of photography has been around since the early days of photography itself, however the first fashion photographs didn t surface until 1856. Photographer Adolphe Braun took the first fashion photographs of Virginia Oldoini, Countess of Castiglione. These photographs were published into a book which contained over 200 other photographs of the Countess. Due to these photographs the Countess became the first ever fashion model. In the 1990 s printing advancements meant that photographers could include their work in magazine spreads. This allowed fashion magazines like Vogue and Harper s Bazaar (which were both founded in the 1800 s) to include photographs. These magazines were initially hand illustrated but the new developments in printing meant that fashion magazines were able to show photographs of what the clothing actually looked like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some of these can include catalogue/look book images, editorial images, and high fashion images. Each genre requires a different approach because they each have a specific style requirement to fulfil. For example, catalogue images need to show a set wardrobe of clothing so that the brand/company can sell more of the items, the poses that the models are in are very simple and the images are very clean cut. On the other hand, high fashion images are styled completely different. High fashion images are made to look out of the ordinary with dramatic clothing and exaggerated ... The greatest leader of the The New Oxford Annotated Bible the man who gave birth to the New Testament, Jesus Christ. The class textbook The Art of Leadership by Manning and Curtis splits leadership into three types teacher, Hero and Ruler. The book even describes Jesus as a teacher since teachers and rule breakers. It is apparent that Jesus is a rule breaker since he values worship over societal rules Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands before they eat. Jesus answered them And why do you break the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? (New Revised Standard Version, Matthew 15.2,3) Jesus rocked the establishment saying that the society should never trump the reason for society and that is the commandment. Jesus was also a hero since he was responsible for great causes and noble works. In Jesus s time Judaism and Jewish society was based around the concept of hierarchy, some people on top but most are on the bottom. Jesus helped perpetuate egalitarian philosophy with a simple sentence Do to others as you would have them do to you (New Revised Standard Version, Luke 6.31). This was and still is a great cause to champion for, equality and fairness. Though the text described the concept of rulers as aggressive, cold and calculative with the likes of Napoleon, Caesar and Hitler but even though Jesus was none of those things he was still a ruler. After hearing the Spanish sounding blur coming out of my new sister s mouth, I could only produce a blank stare in response. I immediately came to the realization that living in a Spanish speaking culture would not be as easy as I had expected, and my ten years of classroom Spanish would not be enough. This was a living language that I would have to learn and adjust to. My K 12 magnet school is one of the very few schools in the country that teaches students at an early age how to entertain multiple ideas by using Paideia seminars which incorporate open ended questions centered around a thought provoking text. Understanding how to maintain my own ideas and opinions while accepting others was an important skill for this journey. The idea that there is no right or wrong, just different, was something I had not been able to fully understand until my foreign study experience. For example, Argentineans ability to vote before they could drive seemed strange to me, but I began to realize that Americans driving at 16 was just as strange. It became apparent that easing my way in wouldn t be an option, having just six weeks to make my best attempt at cultural immersion. Using an online comparison tool is always a great thing. Ensure that your online shopping process is clear and easy to follow. You must keep a clear count of what you have in stock. This will allow the customer to purchase more than one item. Using icons of the product in the shopping cart is also a great way to let the customer see what they are purchasing when they are viewing their carts. Be clear on your return policy. You can also send reminders to your customer to let them know that they have items in their shopping cart. It is also a good idea not to empty the carts too soon. • 9. Analysis Of The Winter Of 2013 A Sinkhole Introduction In the winter of 2013 a sinkhole took the life of Jeffrey Bush in Seffner, Florida. He was lying in bed when the ground collapsed beneath his bedroom. Death from sinkhole formation is rare, but sinkhole collapses are a common occurrence throughout the state of Florida (Brinkmann, 2013, p.1). Natural hazards, such as sinkholes, can detrimentally impact society and the environment. Indeed, sinkholes can reroute surface runoff into aquifers; cause structural damage to roads and buildings; drain wetlands; and as shown in the example above, have fatal consequences. Florida s growing population corresponds with an increase in urbanization throughout the state, which results in the accelerated development of groundwater and land resources. Sinkholes are naturally occurring phenomena, but their increasing frequency throughout Florida correlates with the accelerated development of these resources (Tihansky, 1999, p.121). Together, Figures 1 and 2 visually display the correlation between Florida s growing population and the increase in sinkhole development from 1960 to 2000. Anthropogenic factors such as groundwater pumping, combined with certain environmental conditions associated with a lowered base water level (e.g. drought and hurricanes), can result in sinkhole development. For example, the excessive pumping of groundwater can create subsurface voids because of the lowering of the water table, which can lead to the development of sinkholes due to gravity and the ... But with World War One their effectiveness reached frightening new levels. Firing up to 600 bullets a minute (the equivalent of 250 men with rifles), Machine Guns were then deemed to be ‘weapons of mass destruction . Machine guns would often be grouped together to maintain a constant defensive position. 2. Artillery: These were the new and upgraded versions of cannons. Never in the history of man, where there so many cannons used in one war alone. For four years the British had been using artillery and firing 170 million shells in that time. But Germany had a plan up their sleeve. For ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The basic idea of a flamethrower is to spread fire by launching burning fuel. The earliest flamethrowers date as far back as the 5th century B.C. These took the form of lengthy tubes filled with burning solids (such as coal or sulphur), and which were used in the same way as blow guns: by blowing into one end of the tube the solid material inside would be propelled towards the operator s enemies. 11. Trench Mortars: As with the grenade the mortar was yet another old weapon which found a new lease of life during World War One. A mortar is essentially a short, stumpy tube designed to fire a projectile at a steep angle (by definition higher than 45 degrees) so that it falls straight down on the enemy. From this simple description it will be immediately apparent that the mortar was ideally suited for trench warfare, hence the common application of the trench prefix. 2. What is no man s land: No Man s Land is the term used by soldiers to describe the ground between the two opposing trenches. Its width along the Western Front could vary a great deal. The average distance in most sectors was about 250 yards (230 metres). No Man s Land contained a considerable amount of barbed wire. In the areas most likely to be attacked, there were ten ... We will look at the strengths and weaknesses of these methods. The conventional methods in use today are Biological Replacement such as organ donation, and Artificial Replacement such as Pacemakers. 2.1 Biological Replacement There are four main types of tissue in the body; muscle, connective, epithelial, and nervous tissues []. In this paper, I will be covering the replacement of both hard and soft tissues. As organs are the most frequently replaced body part I will be covering them separately 2.1.1 Organ Donation Organ Donation is the most widely used methods of replacing tissues. Many cities and Countries have programs that encourage donating your body after death, many with the phrase One organ donor can save up to eight lives. Depending on the organ rejection rates can range from fifty to just seven percent [][]. Many recipients will see symptoms of organ rejection, however, this is routinely caught and treated before full rejection can occur. • 12. Where Atoms Come From We Are All Star Stuff Chapter Four: Where Atoms Come From: We Are All Star Stuff 1. How are elements with atomic numbers greater than iron s atomic number formed? (1 mark) Elements with atomic numbers greater than iron s atomic number form during the formation of a supernovae, also known as a mini bang. The process begins when a massive star has depleted its supply of magnesium and silicon, and only has a bare iron ore remaining. Now, the star no longer has the energy to maintain its immense mass against the force of gravity, and as a result, the entire star collapses. This process fuses together electrons and protons in the core, which forms neutrons. After neutrons build up in the ore, the star recoils in the form of an explosion. During the explosion, the neutrons attach to iron atoms in the ore, and begin converting back to protons and electrons. As a result, iron atoms are able to become different elements with greater atomic numbers. 2. Explain how Patterson determined the age of the Earth (4.55 billion years old)? When a massive star depletes all of its magnesium and silicon supply, it will only have an iron ore remaining. At this point, they will not have enough energy to sustain the inner pull of gravity, and the star will collapse. During this process, electrons and protons will combine to form neutrons in the ore. When the ore is filled with neutrons, a rebound will occur, and everything will explode outwards, during which the neutrons will surround the iron atoms and will separate into protons and electrons. Now, the iron atom has excess of protons and electrons, which means that it is a different and heavier element, as the number of protons have increased. Slavery did set us back some years, but I have to say it has made us stronger. Most of us had to face great obstacles to get in a good place, but no matter what we keep making it through the adversity. After slavery, we as a culture had to make it through the jim crow laws. This sparked the civil right movement that gave blacks a voice to speak out against the injustice that had been quietly dealt with for years. Children s exposure to TV ads for unhealthy food products (i.e., high calorie, low nutrient snacks, fast foods and sweetened drinks) are a significant risk factor for obesity. In very young children, research has found that for every one hour increase in TV viewing per day, there are higher intakes of sugar sweetened beverages, fast food, red and processed meat, and overall calories (48.7 kcal/day). Excess weight can be gained by the addition of only 150 calories a day. Other research has found that children who watch more than three hours of television a day are 50 per cent more likely to be obese than children who watch fewer than two hours. Food and beverage advertising targeted at children influences their product preferences, requests and diet. The food and beverage industry has resolved to self regulate their marketing to children, but this has not resulted in significant improvement in the marketing of healthier food (i.e., fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low fat or non fat milk or dairy products, lean meats, poultry, fish and beans) to children. • 22. Voter Id Laws Voter ID Laws Fraud or Fraud Prevention? Voter ID Laws, now present in some form or another in thirty states, require individuals to show government issued identification in order to cast a ballot on Election Day. The debate over the need for such laws has never been more important. Voter ID laws were brought to the forefront of American politics in the most recent presidential election as a result of President Elect Donald Trump s insistence that the election process in America is riddled with wide spread voter fraud. His claims of a rigged election were printed, broadcast, and proliferated through social media for the majority of his campaign. Such claims, if factual, should certainly be immediately rectified. The United States is built on the integrity of its election process and maintaining that integrity is paramount. The issue at hand is: Are these claims of widespread voter fraud fact or fiction? The key driver in the debate over Voter ID laws is whether or not such laws are intended to prevent voter fraud or whether the laws themselves are a form of government endorsed fraud intended to suppress the vote of specific populations. The fact remains that neither the President Elect nor the states implementing Voter ID laws have been able to produce evidence of election rigging or widespread voter fraud. As such, without evidence of the need for the supposed protection from fraud that these laws are intended to provide, we can only conclude that such laws are not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, it is only through the great efforts that Winston goes through carrying out his rebellion that the true effect of the power of the party can be seen. The beginning of the parties control stems from their ability to use language as a mind control device. In Oceania, if you want to keep a secret, you must also hide it from yourself. The Party implements a new language called Newspeak which simply eliminates any potentially disloyal words from the vocabulary. Orwell uses this to illustrate the point that language is the most crucial part in the generation of unique and original human thought. Without language, the formation of thought is nearly impossible. Even the conceptualization of an idea questioning the Party s absolute power is made impossible by Newspeak. Therein lies another issue; once the Party controls language they have the ability to exercise psychological and physical intimidation and manipulation over the society. By 1880, the U.S. population had grown so large that it took more than seven years to tabulate the U.S. Census results. The government sought a faster way to get the job done, giving rise to punch card based computers that took up entire rooms. (Zimmermann) Today, we carry more computing power on our smartphones than was available in these early models. The following brief history of computing is a timeline of how computers evolved from their humble beginnings to the machines of today that surf the Internet, play games and stream multimedia in addition to crunching numbers. (Zimmermann) 1801: In France, Joseph Marie Jacquard invents a loom that uses punched wooden cards to automatically weave fabric designs. Early computers would use similar punch cards. 1822: English mathematician Charles Babbage conceives of a steam driven calculating machine that would be able to compute tables of numbers. The project, funded by the English government, is a failure. More than a century later, however, the world s first computer was actually built. 1890: Herman Hollerith designs a punch card system to calculate the 1880 census, accomplishing the task in just three years and saving the government $5 ...
