Personal Experience Essay
Crafting a Personal Experience Essay can be both a rewarding and challenging endeavor. The
difficulty lies in the delicate balance between introspection and effective communication. On
one hand, you need to delve into your own experiences, emotions, and reflections. On the other,
you must transform these personal insights into a coherent and engaging narrative that resonates
with your audience.
The challenge begins with selecting the right experiences to showcase, as not every personal
story may be suitable for an essay. There's a constant struggle to strike a balance between
authenticity and relevance, ensuring that the chosen anecdotes contribute meaningfully to the
overall theme. Additionally, the process of introspection can be emotionally taxing, requiring
you to revisit moments that might be deeply personal or even painful.
Then comes the intricate task of weaving these experiences into a well-structured essay.
Conveying the richness of your personal journey while maintaining clarity and coherence
demands careful consideration of language, pacing, and tone. It's a dance between revealing
enough to create a connection with the reader and holding back when necessary to maintain a
sense of mystery or suspense.
Editing adds another layer of complexity. Balancing the need for conciseness with the desire to
capture the nuances of your experiences requires a keen eye for detail. Revising and refining
your narrative may involve multiple iterations to ensure that each word serves a purpose and
contributes to the overall impact.
Despite the challenges, writing a Personal Experience Essay can be an enlightening process. It
encourages self-reflection, allowing you to gain deeper insights into your own life. Moreover,
successfully conveying your experiences can create a powerful connection with your readers, as
they may find elements of your story resonating with their own lives.
In conclusion, while the difficulty of writing a Personal Experience Essay is undeniable, the
potential for personal growth and the ability to connect with others through shared narratives
make the effort worthwhile. If you find yourself struggling or seeking assistance, various
resources are available, including online platforms likeHelpWriting.net, where you can explore
similar essays and find support in expressing your unique experiences.

It may be concluded that the reasons behind Costello s school having to choose a
reading program was that his school had low test score that was made public.
Costello stated, schools fell under scrutiny as test results were made public and
accountability resulted in search for improved school method of teaching(72). The
reading program that his school choose to implemented was the works of Fountas and
Pinnell so consequently Costello article mainly focuses on the Fountas and Pinnell.

Diversification And Diversification For International
Markets
Introduction:
Diversification and adapting to internationalisation is a way to survive in a
competitive business environment and is well researched and adopted in the
business world. It is possibly the most logical and secure way for companies to
avoid that their share of a given market will not be taken over by other competitors
when they try to diversify technologically, geographically or product wise. It also
helps reduce the risk by spreading it into different markets. There are many assorted
works written about diversification and internationalisation in order to theoretically
envisage the optimal level of diversification for international markets that generates
the highest growth rate with a minimum level of risk.
This study is an investigation of the strategic growth of a small company (Ravi

found difficulty in gaining more customers and it is localized in its certain area. This
was a big problem for the company affecting its sales and growth overtime,
management had to overcome this hurdle, because the company would not be able to
survive with its current customers, despite having a large production but limited
market share.

Additional Mathematics Chapter 1 Essay
Chapter One From chapter 1, I feel a very important contribution to the development
of mathematics is the Egyptian doubling method. The Egyptians came up with this
dyadic method when they realized that any integer can be written as a sum of
doubling numbers or powers of two without repeating any of them. By doubling a
numberenough to add up to the value of another, the Egyptians came up with an
approach to multiplication that we should purpose today. It is also an early
introduction to the distribution property that will be used in later mathematics such
as Algebra. I find this method of doubling numbers as a path to multiplying large
numbers that avoids the mistakes that can be made with multiplication in our current
method such as dropping the zeros for the next place value ; and I will surely teach
this method to my middle school students as they progress to mastering mutiplication.
Chapter Two The Babylonian formula from chapter 2 is what I feel is a very

Interesting that we actually get introduced to this theorem in our text earlier in time
in the Babylonian Era of chapter two. Plimpton 322 actually contained pairs of
numbers in which the square root of the difference of the pairs squares was a whole
number; what we know as today as Pythagorean Triples. But it was Pythagoras who
took this property beyond just a concept and applied it to right triangles; where the
sum of the two squares of the two shorter sides of a right triangle equals the square of
the hypotenuse. There is no way that I will teach mathematics and not come across
teaching any of my students the Pythagorean Theorem; whether it be Pythagorean
Triples, right triangles, or Trigonometry, the Pythagorean Theorem will be
Salt Solution Concentrations And Water On The Mass Of...
The Effect of Salt Solution Concentrations and Water On the Mass of Potatoes
Research Question
What happens to the mass of the diced potatoes when submerged in varying
concentrations of salt solutions and water in 10 minute intervals? This experiment
will compare the mass of the diced potatoes submerged in distilled water, 1% salt
solution, 5% salt solution, and 10% salt solution respectively in 10 minute intervals.
Background Information
Potatoes first originated in South America and were later introduced to Europe by
Spanish explorers. Now, potatoes have become an important staple food item to have
in the kitchen. They are packed with more energy than any other vegetable. A potato
is made of potassium, vitamin C, fiber, starch, water, and fat. The concentrationof
each component is as follows: 18% starch, 78% water, 2 5%protein, and 1% fat.
Hypothesis
If the concentration of the salt solution increases then, its mass will decrease. This is
because water molecules move from a higher concentration to a lower concentration
in a process called osmosis. Potatoes are made of mostly water and because of the salt
solution concentration the water molecules in the potato will move out of it. The
higher the concentration, the more water molecules move out of the potato.
Variables
The independent variable is the salt solution concentration. The dependant variable is
the mass of the potato. The control variable is the distilled water.

A Comparison Of The Taj Mahal And Palace Of Versailles
Ever since man began building structures and settling land, art has manifested itself
in our architectural creations. Whether it be to celebrate or worship a God or Gods,
a grand sculpture to bury a powerful leader or remember them by, or to show a
culture s dedication to specific values, our architectural constructions have led to
some of the finest art this Earth has ever seen. The Taj Mahaland Palace of Versailles
are two great examples of such art. By examining each of these individually, and then
comparing and contrasting them, it will become clear that no matter how different
looking these buildings may be, they still serve the same purpose to the civilizations
that erected them. The first piece of architectural art to look at is the Taj Mahal. It
was constructed as a mausoleum for the wife of Shah Jahans favorite wife after her
death following complications of childbirth (Kapadia, n.d.). It became so famous that
its design was even replicated as a casino in Atlantic City, although that became a
mausoleum for the cash of its investors. When someone looks at the Taj Mahal for the
first time, the thing that stands out the most is the use of white marble in its
construction. Almost everything in the Taj Mahal was created with white marble.
Next to be noticed would be both the domes and minarets that make up the
monument. These are key tenets of the Mughal style that was used in building it. So
too is the calligraphy that adorns almost all of the gateways and
John Taylor s Treaty Signing At Medicine Creek Lodge
I find the comparison of these two pieces, John Taylor s Treaty Signing at
Medicine Creek Lodge, and Howling Wolf s Treaty Signing at Medicine Creek

eye exploring type of worldly view, and the other John Taylor is that of a trained
major league ball player. The tools used to make the pieces of work for one it is his
chosen, Taylor, and for Wolf it is what he is allowed to possess. It is not even just a
matter of training, the artist have different cultural views and definitely different
views when drawing, Taylor is on the scene recording his representational view and
Explosive Traces and Forensic Analysis
Explosives are used for a variety of applications from military operations to
mining. However, these materials can also be used in criminal investigations such
as terrorists who threaten harm or cause death and destruction. Explosives can be
categorised into two main forms: high explosives and low explosives. High
explosives are explosive materials that detonate. This means that the explosive
shock passes through the material at a speed, faster than the speed of sound. High
explosives generally detonate with an explosive velocity ranging from 3 to 9 km
/s. Low explosive are compounds where the rate of decomposition proceeds
through the material at a speed less than the speed of sound. The decomposition is
spread by a flame. This is known as deflagration. Under normal conditions, low
explosives undergo deflagration at rates varying from a few centimetres per second
to roughly 400 metre per second. It is possible for low explosives to deflagrate
extremely quickly producing an effect which is similar to detonation of high
explosives. This usually occurs when ignited in a confined space and can happen due
to high pressure or high temperatures. The detection and/or identification of trace
amounts of explosives is an important aspect of forensic investigations. Some
methods of detection can also identify the explosives, some cannot for example the
use of canine detection, and the dog can smell the explosive but cannot say what it is.

Seven Years War
The Seven Years War was a series of conflict between several countries including
the colonies, Britain, France, Spain, Austria, Russia, Sweden, and Persia (Brinkley,
2012). While the war officially began in 1756, many of the colonists predicted the
French and Indian war in the early 1750 s. Although Great Britain was still in
control of the colonies, they provided very little help and support. This eventually
worsened matters, especially when many colonists were constantly fighting off
Indian tribes who were in alliance with the French. In fact, nearly every Indian tribe
had ties to the France, excluding the Iroquois tribe due to the fear imposed by the
British (History, 2014). As previously stated, the Seven Years War officially began in

Frustrations in England also increased when it became known that American
merchants were exporting goods to the French colonies during the war. In
America, however, the consists finally witnessed how England handled affairs in
the New World, England s inability to continue to enforce unfair policy proved to
many colonists that the English were simply unable to appropriately control the
colonies (U.S. History, 1999). Furthermore, the colonists gained confidence and
recognized the unity of their army, which was much different than the arrogant
reputation the English Army held. Though England may be seen the territory
acquisition beneficial at the time, the French and Indian war was a stepping stone
to the American Revolution (History, 2014). England was in a great deal of debt as
a result of the French and Indian War. In 1763, policy was about to once again
change with the new leadership of George Grenville. Much like the majority of
key English leaders, Grenville believed that the colonies were partially responsible
for the debt in England (Brinkley, 2012). He began to enact a series of new, unfair
taxes and regulations on the colonies, eventually causing several crises, rebellions,
and revolts within the colonists. In the eyes of the colonies, Grenville s plan was
seen as an unfair retaliation (U.S. History, 1999). As the taxes increased, so did the
violence, eventually leading to the Boston Tea

Essay on the Devil in Paradise Lost, Holy Bible, Faust,...
The Devil s Role in Paradise Lost, The Bible, Faust, and The Devil and Tom Walker
The devil s role as the inspiration for rock and roll is already well documented and
commonly understood. Perhaps less well documented is the role of the Devil as
inspiration for literature. The Devil has played an active role in literature for quite a
while with his name appearing in stories for centuries.
The historical devil has not always been personified. Initially, in religious settings, he
was represented as a feeling or power, in attendance as the force of evil, an antagonist
to goodness and divinity, and temptation for humans. Although not always
represented as human, he has always been represented. In fact, demonstrating that he

No longer just a religious being, under the direction of artists, the devil assumed the
shape of a fleshed out character.4 Representations of the devil changed first from
feared supernatural force to a god of grace, 5 and next to a prankster and satirist6
and, at worst, a monster in appearance. With this final development, the devil was
almost ready for the Charlie Daniels Band, but first he had to be fine tuned.
The first important literary work in the devil s modern development was Milton s
Paradise Lost. Although the devil s battle takes place in his earliest arena, Heaven, he
is somewhat anthropomorphic, suspiciously human in anatomy but also bearing
wings, horns, and hooves. Next was Goethe s Faust, whose title character is tempted
by an under demon, Mephistopheles, to whom he submits. Later, just as his contract
with the devil is about to run out, Faust turns to God to escape damnation and repents.
Although it had drawn from Theophilus, a medieval text, Faustus originality lies in
its non biblical plot (unlike Paradise Lost).7 The devil had taken a new form in
literature and other storytellers took to this incarnation.
By characterizing the devil as a person (most commonly a man), authors endowed
him with significant qualities signifying qualities, really, many of which are recycled
in The Devil Went Down to Georgia. The devil is frequently wealthy, a sharp

Uncontrollable environment, PESTL
Political forces
Landscapes r us, are faced by several political forces that may influence the amount
of work and the way business will operate. There is a trend of new suburbs being
divided into smaller blocks then older suburbs. In the 1950 s the average block
size was 810sqm 910 sq m, and block divided in 2012 average between 200 350 sq

suburbs isn t as profitable as before, because there is less work required on each
block. Because there are a greater number of blocks it creates a large number of
opportunities to win quotes. When there are more quotes in an area it will attract
more businesses competition.

The announcement of the current federal budget by the Abbot government is
driving the message of cutting Australia s debt. There are threats of lots of job cuts

The Presidential Candidate Of Education Reform
I for one believe Hillary Rodham Clinton is the best presidential candidate of
education reform in the 2016 election. Mrs. Clinton has an impeccable record on this
issue and consistently fought for the rights of all American s access to quality
education. Her crusade as a public servant for quality educationbegan thirty three
years ago in 1983.The Arkansasschool system ranked 50th in the nation. Mrs. Clinton
was appointed by Governor Bill Clintonto chair the Educational Standards
Committee, to recommend reforms. It is not an exaggeration to say the state s
educational system remains broken. TIME Magazine dubbed Arkansas the long time
Dogpatch of the nation s school system However, this crisis in education extended
from coast to coast. In pushing for higher standards, Mrs. Clinton stated, Our schools
are not doing as good as they must. While there may be many causes for our dilemma,
there is only one solution. We Arkansans have to quit making excuses and accept
instead the challenge of excellence once and for all. (ED Reform,2016) The newly
established committee solicited advice from the public, in all of Arkansas 75
counties. Following this extensive research, Mrs. Clinton came up with a
comprehensive set of regulations aimed at overhauling the state s failing education
system. The Education Standards committee s recommendations included: Upgrading
curriculum standards and course requirements. Increasing teacher salaries and
possible merit pay. Establishing a
Dance On The Water Analysis
The Devil That Danced on the Water, a memoir written by the talented Modern
World Literature author, Aminatta Forna made its debut in 2002; just in time to
contribute to healing the brokenness of a society and their leftover open wounds
from the aftermath of the civil war in Sierra Leone. In this analysis research paper,
I will discuss how the author extends her writing to address an entire society, as well
as ordinary families and individuals that have experienced the horror and corruptness
that broken politics can bring upon a group of people. More narrowed, I will focus
on my particular interpretation and argument of the reading; not the author s work to
honor her father by tracking down the truth, but rather her ability to use her personal
experiences in a way that inspires a more hopeful, courageous, educated and
independent population throughout all of the world affected by war and hate,
particularly West Africa.
Aminatta, a woman of many cultural backgrounds, contributes multiple perspectives
of her writing, which helps readers understand differing cultures. Her mother was
Scottish, her father was from Sierra Leone and finally her influential step mother
fled with Aminatta and her siblings to make a life for them in England as the
downfall of democracy began in Sierra Leone. This two part book evolved as a
collection of piecing together memories and discoveries leading to the uncovered
mystery behind Mohamed Forna s public execution during Aminatta s childhood.

severity of the disease in order to decide an appropriate treatment.1 One of the
tools that are often used to assess the severity of CD is the Crohn s Disease
Activity Index. (CDAI).11 It determines the current severity of CD based on the
patients signs and symptoms of the past 7 days.11 CDAI score less than 150 is a
marker of remission (no active inflammation and has no symptoms of CD) of Crohn
s disease.11 In the meantime, CDAI score more than 450 is a marker of severe Crohn
s disease and usually warrant a rapid investigations.11
The drugs used to treat CD are mostly identical as those used for UC, however, drug

The new generation drugs may be considered to be used for the treatment of CD in
case the conventional therapy is ineffective.13 These drugs are biological agents that
act more vigorously to combat the inflammation in CD.13 They are licensed for use
in Australi but are costly, and government subsidy is only available to those who met
the criteria.13 Biological agents suppress the immune systems, therefore prior starting
them, patients are required to be screened for certain infections, and they need to take
extra precautions regarding vaccinations, infections, and travel while on this agents.13
There are currently two tumour necrosis factor alpha (TNFО±) antagonist available
on the PBS for treatment of IBD: infliximab and adalimumab.1 Another biological is
vedolizumab which is a gut specific humanised monoclonal antibody that binds to
and inhibits О±4ОІ7 integrin expressed on the surface of lymphocytes preventing
their binding to mucosal addressin cell adhesion molecule 1 expressed on vascular
endothelial cells within the GI tract.16 Blocking this binding prevents lymphocyte
migration into intestinal tissue thus reduce inflammation.16 Lastly, the most recent

Unaccompanied Child Refugees in the United States
Introduction
More than any country in the world, the United States has been a haven for refugees
fleeing religious and political persecution in their home countries. Linked forever to
the phrase inscribed on the Statue of Liberty, Give me your tired, your poor, your
huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the United States, in the eyes of persecuted
people throughout the world, has been idealized as a land of freedom and new
beginnings. However, the changing face of refugees seeking asylum in the United
States in the past several decades has exposed stark gaps in the legal, administrative,
and social treatment of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The United States Response
Administratively and legally, the United States has been slow in responding to the
changes in refugee and asylum seeking patterns. Until very recently, United States
federal policy toward undocumented aliens and refugees was still largely influenced
by post World War II United Nations conventions, including the International
Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (1976) and the Convention Relating to the
Status of Refugees (1954). As dated guidelines for dealing with the asylum claims of
refugees, these international norms treat all refugees according to adult standards of
proof. The Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) refugees guidelines,
however, have for many years failed to account for the growing numbers of
unaccompanied children entering the United States. United States domestic family
law and juvenile justice have recognized that children should be held to different
standards of proof, evidence, and culpability than adults. This standard of dual proof
is not evident in United States policy regarding immigrant asylum seekers. United
States immigration policy has only in the past year begun to think of children as
different from adults.3 Due to the relative newness and slowness of reform, children
asylum seekers in the United States continue to be routinely detained, like adults, in
INS and INS contracted state detention facilities as they await hearings before

The French revolution began in the late 18th century. It started out quite peacefully
when commoners, feeling oppressed by the Monarchy and high society, began to
challenge tax reformation proposed by the King s ministers. They joined together to

The National Assembly had just been established and had set out to convene in order
to form their own constitution. Unfortunately, as they arrived at their meeting hall
they encountered royal guards and locked doors preventing their entry. Having no
other choice, the deputies of the National Assembly gathered at a nearby indoor
tennis court.
Here, a crowd of 577 deputies took a pledge to stay together until they were able to
compose and implement their own constitution. This moment can be seen in Jacques

Dentistry Field
What Magnetizes People To Dentistry Field Becoming a dentist was always my
dream and going to a dentistry school is my ideal and long term goal. Although
dentistry field is a really high prestige job, but also involves a lot of studying, hard
working, special programs and trainings. Average people s perspective, specially my
own family and the environment that I was raised in, toward this job is that they
think it s a perfect high paying job with not much working hours, which is not
wrong, but their perspective is mostly narrow about this major and that s usually all
they know about this field. According to U.S.News website the average salary of
dentists was $172.350 in 2015. However, there are much more requirements for
becoming a dentist, and that s where people are not informed about it. Furthermore,
dentistryis a field that is desirable to everyone but not everyone knows much about

More than 75% of McDonald s restaurants worldwide are owned and operated by
independent local men and women (McD Annual Report, 09). Most standalone
McDonald s restaurants offer both counter service and drive through service. They

FAST FOOD INDUSTRY ANALYSIS
Fast food restaurants represent one of the largest segments of the food industry with
over 200,000 restaurants and $120B in sales in the U.S. alone. Fast food restaurants,
which are also known as quick service restaurants (QSRs), are noted for their short
food preparation time. Some of the largest companies in the fast food restaurants
category include McDonald s, Yum! Brands, Wendy s, Burger King

and Sonic.
Since late 2006, the fast food industry s growth has been slowed by rising food and

Swot Analysis Of Mac Ride
1.0Introduction
In this capstone integrated project report, the project team explored the firm Ride
More Innovations Ltd. (RMI) and its first product, Mac Ride . Mac Ride is a unique,
front mounted, child seat for mountain bicycles. This report begins by analyzing the
child bike seat industry. Subsequently, RMI s current strategy, potential markets and
competitors across various geographical locations are investigated in detail. Based on
this analysis, different strategies are analyzed before a final recommendation is
suggested. The report also includes an implementation guide for the recommended
strategy as well as a description of the finance required to execute the strategy and
expected results of the strategy execution.

Accordingly, the child can participate in the ride, stand on the stirrups, all while
having fun and learning about balance and speed. Additionally, parents benefit by
having the opportunity to have a real conversation with his/her child without
distractions or having to continually look back. Mac Ride facilitates a closer
connection between parents and children in their bicycle riding experience.
Mac Ride seats are easy to set up and suitable for off road riding, and, therefore,
support an active, engaged experience for children. Once the Mac Ride seat is
removed, the only thing left on the bike is a small spacer ring which blends into the
bicycle design and may go completely unnoticed. Easy removal and installation also
allows parents to exchange the Mac Ride child seat quickly so parents may take turns
exploring and sharing their bicycling adventure with their child.
There do exist conventional front mounted bicycle children s seats. However, they
have limited space and children quickly outgrow the plastic seats which are usually
clunky, aesthetically unpleasing, and difficult to maintain. However, Mac Ride has
extendable legs and a movable seat, allowing children to use the seat for a longer
duration than other conventional front mounted seats. Depending on the size of the
bike and height of the rider, children as old as 6 can easily use and have fun with
Mac Ride.
Furthermore, other front mounted child carriers often force the

Heart rate zone training is a great way to train. This training method involves
tracking heart rate and determining heart rate zones in order to maximize workout

Using a HR monitor and linking it to a heart rate fitness app like MOTIFIT will

John Wilkes Booth, The Killer And His Plans Essay
The book essentially goes over Lincoln s killer and his plans and what his thoughts
were before, during and after the shooting of President Lincoln. It is a book that
mainly focuses on John Wilkes Booth , the killer, and his plans and how it panned
out. John Wilkes Booth was an actor and lived a wealthy life, he was someone who
was considered very handsome by many and someone with fine clothes. His tactics
per se were not well planned out. John Wilkes Boothhad tried to kidnap President
Lincoln before, but he failed to do so he planned on bringing Lincoln to the South
and demanding peace, Boothe had recently heard about the appearance the
Lincolns would be given at the Ford s theatre, he knew the Lincoln s would have a
box inside the theatre where he would sit . Although he committed the act of
assassinating President Lincoln he did not plan on how he was going to get through
to him,the obstacles he would have to overcome, he just knew he would do
whatever he needed to do to get the task done. Booth was someone who did not like
Lincoln s plans for America, especially the south. He yelled The South is avenged
after killing the president of the United States. Not only were his thoughts on ending
the President but also the Vice President and the Secretary of State because of what
they stood for.

SOPA, DMCA, and HIPAA
With the introduction of computers and the internet opens limitless possibilities for
the world to become so much more interconnected and interactive. However, that
same limitless potential is both a blessing and a curse. The open internet is a system
that allows for unlimited access to almost any sort of information. That same
openness makes security for one s self difficult and there isn t anyone who is
completely secure. The introduction of the internet for broad use and public
consumption also came with the federal government s attempts to prevent the theft of
personal information. In the late 1990s, President Bill Clinton signed into law two
provisions to protect copyright and affordability of healthcare: the Digital Millennium
Copyright Act (DMCA) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
In 2011, a bill was introduced into the United States House of Representatives called
the Stop Online Privacy Act (SOPA) to combat online copyright infringement and
online trafficking in counterfeit goods. Obviously the DMCA and SOPA have much
more in common as they deal with copyright infringement. As such, they also have a
profound impact on information security. HIPAA is important as well as it keeps
confidential information like medical records to only be accessed by patients and
medical professionals. All three of them touched on an important subject, information
security, that warrants the

However, there is no evidence proving the existence of the devil, but there are
certainly testimonials of people who have claimed to see Hell. So lets
hypothetically say that the devil is real. That would mean that the horrifying
testimonials are actually true, which may lead one to wonder why people call

Even though structurally Satanists just like Protestants, were essentially a protest or

Satanist and Protestants share the same beliefs, because they are completely

There are many ways to rebel of course, but what seem to be on the news are

February 11th of this year. Jose was a high school dropout out who was using drugs
such as marijuana. From the start, Jose separated himself from all of his friends at

involvement is linked to antisocial behavior (Swatos 161). However, before he
dropped out, he already showed signs of rebellion. Another younger girl claims that
Jose Reyes attacked her, and raped her (lodhia 1). If Jose s parents would have
stepped in at that point, it would have prevented the second crime from occurring.
Sadly, the parents negligence of their own child only set the stage for what was about
to happen. Jose Reyes killed a fifteen year old girl with a buddy of his to sell his soul
to the devil (Spellman 1). Not only did Jose kill her, but he raped the girl and at the
end of it all an upside down cross was carved in her abdomen (Spellman 1). Jose

Barbaric Nomads Analysis
There are many ancient sources stating that the Huns themselves were barbaric
nomads. Ammianus Marcellinus, a Roman writer states in the History of Rome, that
The nation of the Huns surpasses all other barbarians in wildness of life... They fight
in no regular order of battle... It must be owned that they are the most terrible of
warriors because they fight at a distance with missile weapons having sharpened
bones admirably fastened to the shaft. When in close combat with swords, they fight
without regard to their own safety . Marcellinus sees how the Hunsfighting style is
completely different to that of the Romans and therefore finds it to be extremely
terrible. The exaggerated language and bias of this piece is clear and as a Roman

For example, Jordanes, a 6th Century Roman bureaucrat, describes how [Attila]
was indeed a lover of war, yet restrained in action; mighty in counsel, gracious to
suppliants, and lenient to those who were once received under his protection .
Furthermore, Attila refused to be seduced by wealth as Priscus explains how Attila
ate nothing but meat on a wooden trencher... his cup was of wood, while to the
guests were given goblets of gold and silver. His dress, too, was quite simple,
affecting only to be clean. The sword he carried at his side, the latchets of his
Scythian shoes, and the bridle of his horse were not adorned, like those of the other
Scythians, with gold or gems or anything costly . Both of these accounts document
how humble Attila could be, Huns valued gold, and would often brag about their
wealth, but, as these two accounts document, Attila acted modestly about his wealth.
Furthermore, Priscus observed Attila with his son and noted a tenderness, as he
wrote: He drew him close... and gazed at him with gentle eyes . As Roman writers
Priscus and Jordanes gain nothing by writing positively about Attila, and therefore we
can assume that these accounts are fairly
A Map Of Langley High School Map Essay

Colgate s campus due to its large scale compared to my high school campus. I

and the overall dynamic of the school, both socially and culturally. Now that I am a

important spaces by drawingthem to a larger scale, and less important spaces to a

a comical confrontation between Sosicles and Menaechmus wife. When
Menaechmus wife sees Sosicles carrying her dress, thinking he is Menaechmus, she

Oh my goodness woman, what wicked impudence! Do you really claim that this

Plautus ends the play with the reunion of Sosicles and Menaechmus. The reunion of
the brothersis made humorous by the commentary of Messino. While the brothers are
discussing the freedom of Messino he comments, Thank you sirs... but it ll need more
than congratulations to keep me a free man for life (146). Although Plautus play is
mainly for humorous entertainment, the play discusses the universal problems of the
role of women, the effects of greed on man, and human servitude.

Brian Hu, the Asian Film the Supernatural.
Fuck this shit. See you next year Cannes. Out . Is a bold twitter quote from the
very famous Brian Hu which gave a lecture at CSU San Marcos film class October

Asian Film Foundation who received his PhD in Cinema and Media Studies at
UCLA. His lecture presented grave insight into National cultural specifics but
emphasized mostly on China and Hong Kong. He also broke down genres as they
play a role in the film industry. Martial arts as a genre are very specific to Chinese
cinema and Japan has samurai films of loyalty and justice. As a genre, martial arts
take place at a temples or a forest and is very culturally specific. Other genres like
body genres are specific to a body reacting to a film and no mater were you are in
the world you have a body. In Latin America they have mellow dramas called
telenovelas that people want to cry to and in Korea they have their own form of
drama shows that they cry to as well. Horror films often have us react with our
bodies, for example: if you see something gross you feel it in your body, and at the
same time your body is reacting to the way the characters are. Other body genres
like comedy can have a reactional impact on your body as well. For example: if you
see something funny and you laugh, that is a body reaction.
Brian Hu emphasized that classic Hong Kong action films come from the massive

Statistics are impressive.
The Internet had given people broad number of expanding opportunities, literally
wiping away boundaries and distances. It is also a massive source of data. Most of
us can not see the life without the internet, others underestimate its value. Some
people view it as a great evil, other see it as a great good. But the Internet proves to
be neither of those.
The Internet is a global system, a huge cyberspace serving to thousands of users
worldwide. It is a network of networks with different levels of access and different
levels of security. And still, there are always people behind what happens in the
cyberspace the internet is what we make of it and how we use it.
Common users are not always safe from the dangers they are exposed to. And while
there are numerous helpful and beneficial features one can find there, these good
things are balanced out by the dangers one can encounter in the cyberspace.
Another point of concern is how people are absorbed by the Internet culture, how the
concept of virtuality migrates into alternative kind of reality.
The goal of this paper is to explore and find ways to make the internet an optimal
tool, for everybody.
2. Statement of Controlling Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to define the impact of internet communications on our
daily lives and compare its positive and negative effects on social relationships and
personal characteristics of users.

Description Of An Old Railway Station Essay
Scenario:
A property developer is converting an old railway station into retail and office
accommodation. The client is keen to make the working environment for the staff as
comfortable as possible. As a consultant, explain how this can be done by addressing
the relevant grading criteria.
To begin with this assignment I will have a look at and discuss an old railway station.
I hope to change this railway station into a small office block with a small spar
shop also in the building. Now I will begin and work through the assignment always
bearing in mind the changes required from railway station to retail office. The
railway station is very old and is hard to heat, so there will have to be a lot of work
done to make the building a comfortable space for people to work. There is also not
great lighting in the area so I will have to consider that when I am contracting the
building plan.

second generation Chinese Americans be truly happy as completely assimilated
American for in this they are denying their heritage which runs much deeper than
sallow skin and almond shaped eyes? Undoubtedly, the most profound struggle for the
second generation Chinese American will be to seek out their identity and to find
some fusion between the polarized worlds in their lives.
The second generation Chinese American s search for identity is indeed a challenge;
however, the second generation Chinese American woman search for identity is
magnified. For not only does the Chinese American woman struggle to find her
ethnic identity, she must also find her strength and power as a woman. It is a dual
struggle. But not only is it a dual struggle, it is a dual reality. The two entities cannot
be separated. As Shirley Geok Lim and Amy Ling stated so eloquently in their
introduction the Reading the Literatures of Asian America, race and gender
categories are never unitary and separate but are historically and socioculturally

Personal Experience Essay. Personal Experience Essay Sample Templates at allbusinesstemplates.com

  • 1. Personal Experience Essay Crafting a Personal Experience Essay can be both a rewarding and challenging endeavor. The difficulty lies in the delicate balance between introspection and effective communication. On one hand, you need to delve into your own experiences, emotions, and reflections. On the other, you must transform these personal insights into a coherent and engaging narrative that resonates with your audience. The challenge begins with selecting the right experiences to showcase, as not every personal story may be suitable for an essay. There's a constant struggle to strike a balance between authenticity and relevance, ensuring that the chosen anecdotes contribute meaningfully to the overall theme. Additionally, the process of introspection can be emotionally taxing, requiring you to revisit moments that might be deeply personal or even painful. Then comes the intricate task of weaving these experiences into a well-structured essay. Conveying the richness of your personal journey while maintaining clarity and coherence demands careful consideration of language, pacing, and tone. It's a dance between revealing enough to create a connection with the reader and holding back when necessary to maintain a sense of mystery or suspense. Editing adds another layer of complexity. Balancing the need for conciseness with the desire to capture the nuances of your experiences requires a keen eye for detail. Revising and refining your narrative may involve multiple iterations to ensure that each word serves a purpose and contributes to the overall impact. Despite the challenges, writing a Personal Experience Essay can be an enlightening process. It encourages self-reflection, allowing you to gain deeper insights into your own life. Moreover, successfully conveying your experiences can create a powerful connection with your readers, as they may find elements of your story resonating with their own lives. In conclusion, while the difficulty of writing a Personal Experience Essay is undeniable, the potential for personal growth and the ability to connect with others through shared narratives make the effort worthwhile. If you find yourself struggling or seeking assistance, various resources are available, including online platforms likeHelpWriting.net, where you can explore similar essays and find support in expressing your unique experiences. • 6. Diversification And Diversification For International Markets Introduction: Diversification and adapting to internationalisation is a way to survive in a competitive business environment and is well researched and adopted in the business world. It is possibly the most logical and secure way for companies to avoid that their share of a given market will not be taken over by other competitors when they try to diversify technologically, geographically or product wise. It also helps reduce the risk by spreading it into different markets. There are many assorted works written about diversification and internationalisation in order to theoretically envisage the optimal level of diversification for international markets that generates the highest growth rate with a minimum level of risk. • 8. Additional Mathematics Chapter 1 Essay Chapter One From chapter 1, I feel a very important contribution to the development of mathematics is the Egyptian doubling method. The Egyptians came up with this dyadic method when they realized that any integer can be written as a sum of doubling numbers or powers of two without repeating any of them. By doubling a numberenough to add up to the value of another, the Egyptians came up with an approach to multiplication that we should purpose today. It is also an early introduction to the distribution property that will be used in later mathematics such as Algebra. I find this method of doubling numbers as a path to multiplying large numbers that avoids the mistakes that can be made with multiplication in our current method such as dropping the zeros for the next place value ; and I will surely teach this method to my middle school students as they progress to mastering mutiplication. Chapter Two The Babylonian formula from chapter 2 is what I feel is a very important contribution to the development of mathematics. They Babylonians came up with the formula and they did not even know it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Interesting that we actually get introduced to this theorem in our text earlier in time in the Babylonian Era of chapter two. Plimpton 322 actually contained pairs of numbers in which the square root of the difference of the pairs squares was a whole number; what we know as today as Pythagorean Triples. But it was Pythagoras who took this property beyond just a concept and applied it to right triangles; where the sum of the two squares of the two shorter sides of a right triangle equals the square of the hypotenuse. There is no way that I will teach mathematics and not come across teaching any of my students the Pythagorean Theorem; whether it be Pythagorean Triples, right triangles, or Trigonometry, the Pythagorean Theorem will be
  • 9. Salt Solution Concentrations And Water On The Mass Of... The Effect of Salt Solution Concentrations and Water On the Mass of Potatoes Research Question What happens to the mass of the diced potatoes when submerged in varying concentrations of salt solutions and water in 10 minute intervals? This experiment will compare the mass of the diced potatoes submerged in distilled water, 1% salt solution, 5% salt solution, and 10% salt solution respectively in 10 minute intervals. Background Information Potatoes first originated in South America and were later introduced to Europe by Spanish explorers. Now, potatoes have become an important staple food item to have in the kitchen. They are packed with more energy than any other vegetable. A potato is made of potassium, vitamin C, fiber, starch, water, and fat. The concentrationof each component is as follows: 18% starch, 78% water, 2 5%protein, and 1% fat. Hypothesis If the concentration of the salt solution increases then, its mass will decrease. This is because water molecules move from a higher concentration to a lower concentration in a process called osmosis. Potatoes are made of mostly water and because of the salt solution concentration the water molecules in the potato will move out of it. The higher the concentration, the more water molecules move out of the potato. Variables The independent variable is the salt solution concentration. The dependant variable is the mass of the potato. Whether it be to celebrate or worship a God or Gods, a grand sculpture to bury a powerful leader or remember them by, or to show a culture s dedication to specific values, our architectural constructions have led to some of the finest art this Earth has ever seen. The Taj Mahaland Palace of Versailles are two great examples of such art. By examining each of these individually, and then comparing and contrasting them, it will become clear that no matter how different looking these buildings may be, they still serve the same purpose to the civilizations that erected them. The first piece of architectural art to look at is the Taj Mahal. It was constructed as a mausoleum for the wife of Shah Jahans favorite wife after her death following complications of childbirth (Kapadia, n.d.). It became so famous that its design was even replicated as a casino in Atlantic City, although that became a mausoleum for the cash of its investors. When someone looks at the Taj Mahal for the first time, the thing that stands out the most is the use of white marble in its construction. Almost everything in the Taj Mahal was created with white marble. Next to be noticed would be both the domes and minarets that make up the monument. These are key tenets of the Mughal style that was used in building it. So too is the calligraphy that adorns almost all of the gateways and

  • 12. Explosive Traces and Forensic Analysis Explosives are used for a variety of applications from military operations to mining. However, these materials can also be used in criminal investigations such as terrorists who threaten harm or cause death and destruction. Explosives can be categorised into two main forms: high explosives and low explosives. High explosives are explosive materials that detonate. This means that the explosive shock passes through the material at a speed, faster than the speed of sound. High explosives generally detonate with an explosive velocity ranging from 3 to 9 km /s. Low explosive are compounds where the rate of decomposition proceeds through the material at a speed less than the speed of sound. The decomposition is spread by a flame. This is known as deflagration. Under normal conditions, low explosives undergo deflagration at rates varying from a few centimetres per second to roughly 400 metre per second. It is possible for low explosives to deflagrate extremely quickly producing an effect which is similar to detonation of high explosives. This usually occurs when ignited in a confined space and can happen due to high pressure or high temperatures. The detection and/or identification of trace amounts of explosives is an important aspect of forensic investigations. Some methods of detection can also identify the explosives, some cannot for example the use of canine detection, and the dog can smell the explosive but cannot say what it is. • 13. Seven Years War The Seven Years War was a series of conflict between several countries including the colonies, Britain, France, Spain, Austria, Russia, Sweden, and Persia (Brinkley, 2012). While the war officially began in 1756, many of the colonists predicted the French and Indian war in the early 1750 s. Although Great Britain was still in control of the colonies, they provided very little help and support. This eventually worsened matters, especially when many colonists were constantly fighting off Indian tribes who were in alliance with the French. The Devil s Role in Paradise Lost, The Bible, Faust, and The Devil and Tom Walker The devil s role as the inspiration for rock and roll is already well documented and commonly understood. Perhaps less well documented is the role of the Devil as inspiration for literature. The Devil has played an active role in literature for quite a while with his name appearing in stories for centuries. The historical devil has not always been personified. Initially, in religious settings, he was represented as a feeling or power, in attendance as the force of evil, an antagonist to goodness and divinity, and temptation for humans. No longer just a religious being, under the direction of artists, the devil assumed the shape of a fleshed out character.4 Representations of the devil changed first from feared supernatural force to a god of grace, 5 and next to a prankster and satirist6 and, at worst, a monster in appearance. With this final development, the devil was almost ready for the Charlie Daniels Band, but first he had to be fine tuned. The first important literary work in the devil s modern development was Milton s Paradise Lost. Although the devil s battle takes place in his earliest arena, Heaven, he is somewhat anthropomorphic, suspiciously human in anatomy but also bearing wings, horns, and hooves. Next was Goethe s Faust, whose title character is tempted by an under demon, Mephistopheles, to whom he submits. Later, just as his contract with the devil is about to run out, Faust turns to God to escape damnation and repents. Although it had drawn from Theophilus, a medieval text, Faustus originality lies in its non biblical plot (unlike Paradise Lost).7 The devil had taken a new form in literature and other storytellers took to this incarnation. By characterizing the devil as a person (most commonly a man), authors endowed him with significant qualities signifying qualities, really, many of which are recycled in The Devil Went Down to Georgia. The devil is frequently wealthy, a sharp

In this analysis research paper, I will discuss how the author extends her writing to address an entire society, as well as ordinary families and individuals that have experienced the horror and corruptness that broken politics can bring upon a group of people. More narrowed, I will focus on my particular interpretation and argument of the reading; not the author s work to honor her father by tracking down the truth, but rather her ability to use her personal experiences in a way that inspires a more hopeful, courageous, educated and independent population throughout all of the world affected by war and hate, particularly West Africa. As dated guidelines for dealing with the asylum claims of refugees, these international norms treat all refugees according to adult standards of proof. The Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) refugees guidelines, however, have for many years failed to account for the growing numbers of unaccompanied children entering the United States. United States domestic family law and juvenile justice have recognized that children should be held to different standards of proof, evidence, and culpability than adults. This standard of dual proof is not evident in United States policy regarding immigrant asylum seekers. Sopa, Dmca, And Hipaa Alexander Lau ITP 125 Final Paper May 7, 2016 SOPA, DMCA, and HIPAA With the introduction of computers and the internet opens limitless possibilities for the world to become so much more interconnected and interactive. However, that same limitless potential is both a blessing and a curse. The open internet is a system that allows for unlimited access to almost any sort of information. That same openness makes security for one s self difficult and there isn t anyone who is completely secure. The introduction of the internet for broad use and public consumption also came with the federal government s attempts to prevent the theft of personal information. In the late 1990s, President Bill Clinton signed into law two provisions to protect copyright and affordability of healthcare: the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. In 2011, a bill was introduced into the United States House of Representatives called the Stop Online Privacy Act (SOPA) to combat online copyright infringement and online trafficking in counterfeit goods. Obviously the DMCA and SOPA have much more in common as they deal with copyright infringement. As such, they also have a profound impact on information security. HIPAA is important as well as it keeps confidential information like medical records to only be accessed by patients and medical professionals. All three of them touched on an important subject, information security, that warrants the

However, there is no evidence proving the existence of the devil, but there are certainly testimonials of people who have claimed to see Hell. So lets hypothetically say that the devil is real. That would mean that the horrifying testimonials are actually true, which may lead one to wonder why people call themselves Satanist. Contrary to what one might think, Satanist do not actually believe that the devil is something of pure evil, nor do they view him as an actual person. Satanists view the devil as an actual deity or force that is to be worshiped. Surprisingly, people started claiming to have sold their souls to the devil before the existence of the... This doesn t mean that Satanist and Protestants share the same beliefs, because they are completely different; instead, it proves that both of the religions is a example of rebellion There are many ways to rebel of course, but what seem to be on the news are murders . A recent high school dropout named Jose Reyes was on the news February 11th of this year. Jose was a high school dropout out who was using drugs such as marijuana. From the start, Jose separated himself from all of his friends at school, which is a very antisocial thing to do. It is a proven fact that Satanic involvement is linked to antisocial behavior (Swatos 161). However, before he dropped out, he already showed signs of rebellion. Another younger girl claims that Jose Reyes attacked her, and raped her (lodhia 1). If Jose s parents would have stepped in at that point, it would have prevented the second crime from occurring. Sadly, the parents negligence of their own child only set the stage for what was about to happen. Jose Reyes killed a fifteen year old girl with a buddy of his to sell his soul to the devil (Spellman 1). Not only did Jose kill her, but he raped the girl and at the end of it all an upside down cross was carved in her abdomen (Spellman 1). Jose Reyes is a very sadistic twisted person who was very aware of
  • 37. Barbaric Nomads Analysis There are many ancient sources stating that the Huns themselves were barbaric nomads. Ammianus Marcellinus, a Roman writer states in the History of Rome, that The nation of the Huns surpasses all other barbarians in wildness of life... They fight in no regular order of battle... It must be owned that they are the most terrible of warriors because they fight at a distance with missile weapons having sharpened bones admirably fastened to the shaft. When in close combat with swords, they fight without regard to their own safety . Marcellinus sees how the Hunsfighting style is completely different to that of the Romans and therefore finds it to be extremely terrible. The exaggerated language and bias of this piece is clear and as a Roman writer,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, Jordanes, a 6th Century Roman bureaucrat, describes how [Attila] was indeed a lover of war, yet restrained in action; mighty in counsel, gracious to suppliants, and lenient to those who were once received under his protection . Furthermore, Attila refused to be seduced by wealth as Priscus explains how Attila ate nothing but meat on a wooden trencher... his cup was of wood, while to the guests were given goblets of gold and silver. His dress, too, was quite simple, affecting only to be clean. The sword he carried at his side, the latchets of his Scythian shoes, and the bridle of his horse were not adorned, like those of the other Scythians, with gold or gems or anything costly . Both of these accounts document how humble Attila could be, Huns valued gold, and would often brag about their wealth, but, as these two accounts document, Attila acted modestly about his wealth. Furthermore, Priscus observed Attila with his son and noted a tenderness, as he wrote: He drew him close... and gazed at him with gentle eyes . As Roman writers Priscus and Jordanes gain nothing by writing positively about Attila, and therefore we can assume that these accounts are fairly
  • 38. A Map Of Langley High School Map Essay High School Map I decided to sketch a map of Langley High School, which is the high school I attended from 2011 2015 in McLean, Virginia. While I have lived on the Colgate campus for almost two years, I find that I am not as familiar with Colgate s campus due to its large scale compared to my high school campus. I attended Langley for four years, and I often spent a majority of my days at school, both during school hours and after for sport s practices and games. As a result, I became very familiar with the layout of the campus, the function of different areas, and the overall dynamic of the school, both socially and culturally. Now that I am a Langley alumni, I went back to visit during Thanksgiving break 2015 and 2016, and was able to observe the school from an outside perspective. Through my observations, I became aware of different aspects of Langley that I had not noticed as a student. For example, the different in the tense and stressful dynamic of the second floor, and the more relaxed feeling of the bottom floor was something I did not notice until I walked through the halls after graduating. Additionally, the clear hierarchy and social divisions that exist as a result of grade differences was more prominent as a non student. In my sketch of Langley, I represented more socially important spaces by drawingthem to a larger scale, and less important spaces to a smaller scale. I also indicated the changing role of a space throughout the school day by using different

Is a bold twitter quote from the very famous Brian Hu which gave a lecture at CSU San Marcos film class October 20th 2015. He is the artistic director of Pacific Arts Movement and of the San Diego Asian Film Foundation who received his PhD in Cinema and Media Studies at UCLA. His lecture presented grave insight into National cultural specifics but emphasized mostly on China and Hong Kong. He also broke down genres as they play a role in the film industry. Martial arts as a genre are very specific to Chinese cinema and Japan has samurai films of loyalty and justice. As a genre, martial arts take place at a temples or a forest and is very culturally specific. Other genres like body genres are specific to a body reacting to a film and no mater were you are in the world you have a body. In Latin America they have mellow dramas called telenovelas that people want to cry to and in Korea they have their own form of drama shows that they cry to as well. Horror films often have us react with our bodies, for example: if you see something gross you feel it in your body, and at the same time your body is reacting to the way the characters are. Other body genres like comedy can have a reactional impact on your body as well. For example: if you see something funny and you laugh, that is a body reaction. Brian Hu emphasized that classic Hong Kong action films come from the massive influx

Now I will begin and work through the assignment always bearing in mind the changes required from railway station to retail office. The railway station is very old and is hard to heat, so there will have to be a lot of work done to make the building a comfortable space for people to work. There is also not great lighting in the area so I will have to consider that when I am contracting the building plan. The basic factors that will influence human comfort in the office accommodation in thermal, acoustic and visual terms. Thermal: Activity Level As humans we produce excess heat all the time, this heat is a by product of the metabolic process that we all go through every minute of every day, we must lose excess heat to keep the body temperature at 37oC. As we lose this heat it enters the outer environment and raises the room temperature .We lose most body heat by convection, by radiation and by evaporation of sweat. We lose very little body heat by conduction. When the sweat evaporates from

The Search for Identity in Amy Tan s The Joy Luck Club Essay The Search for Identity in The Joy Luck Club When Chinese immigrants enter the United States of America, it is evident from the start that they are in a world far different than their homeland. Face to face with a dominant culture that often times acts and thinks in ways contrary to their previous lives, immigrants are on a difficult path of attempting to become an American. Chinese immigrants find themselves often caught between two worlds: the old world of structured, traditional and didactic China and the new world of mobile, young and prosperous America. The second generation is busy assimilating absorbing American beliefs and practices even if those beliefs are negative views of their own race. But can the second generation Chinese Americans be truly happy as completely assimilated American for in this they are denying their heritage which runs much deeper than sallow skin and almond shaped eyes? Undoubtedly, the most profound struggle for the second generation Chinese American will be to seek out their identity and to find some fusion between the polarized worlds in their lives. The second generation Chinese American s search for identity is indeed a challenge; however, the second generation Chinese American woman search for identity is magnified. For not only does the Chinese American woman struggle to find her ethnic identity, she must also find her strength and power as a woman. It is a dual struggle. But not only is it a dual struggle, it is a dual reality. The two entities cannot be separated. As Shirley Geok Lim and Amy Ling stated so eloquently in their introduction the Reading the Literatures of Asian America, race and gender categories are never unitary and separate but are historically and socioculturally embedded
