1. Inductive Essays
Writing an essay on the topic of "Inductive Essays" can be a challenging endeavor, requiring a
deep understanding of the concept and the ability to effectively communicate it to the reader.
Inductive reasoning involves drawing general conclusions from specific observations or
examples, and crafting an essay on this subject demands a careful balance between providing
concrete instances and developing overarching principles.
One of the difficulties lies in selecting appropriate examples that not only illustrate the inductive
process but also engage the reader's interest. The challenge is to present a series of observations
in such a way that the reader can follow the logical progression towards a broader conclusion.
This requires a keen analytical mind and the ability to identify patterns within the examples
presented.
Furthermore, crafting a cohesive and persuasive argument in an inductive essay requires a strong
grasp of logic and the ability to guide the reader through the thought process. Ensuring that each
example contributes meaningfully to the overall thesis while maintaining clarity can be a delicate
task. Striking the right balance between specificity and generality is crucial, as an overreliance on
either can undermine the effectiveness of the essay.
Another aspect to consider is the potential for ambiguity in inductive reasoning. Since
conclusions are drawn from specific instances, there is always the risk of overlooking
counterexamples or making generalizations that do not hold universally. Addressing these
potential pitfalls requires a careful examination of the evidence and a nuanced approach to
presenting conclusions.
In summary, writing an essay on inductive reasoning poses challenges that go beyond typical
essays. It demands a sharp analytical mind, the ability to select compelling examples, and a
mastery of logical reasoning. However, with careful planning and thoughtful execution, one can
navigate the complexities of inductive essays and produce a piece that engages, informs, and
persuades.

2. Aristotle s Four Causes
The theory of the Four Causes refers to an influential Aristotelian principle whereby
the causes of movement and/or change are categorized allowing us to have
knowledge of our existence and everything around us. Aristotle wrote that we do not
have knowledge of a thing until we have grasped its why , that is to say, its cause. He
provided an account of the operation of various individual substances in the universe.
Distinctions were made between things of two sorts: those that are contingent on
something else s movement and those that necessary in their own movement. Aristotle
not only suggested a proper description of these but also attempted to answer
particular questions such as Why does this event happen? and Why is this object as...

The Final Cause causes movement and gives purpose to everything in the universe. It
could be argued that the final cause given by the Prime Mover is for everything to
simply change. However, Aristotle describes the prime mover as God, implying that
it obtaining goodness is our purpose. Therefore, it is God that attracts everything to
himself while remaining unaffected. Aristotle supposed God s existence to be
necessary, inferring that God does not depend on anything else for existence. He
lacks the potential and therefore does not change, exists outside our temporal reality,
making him eternal. Aristotle stated that eternal beings are essentially good; there
can be no imperfection in something that existing necessarily. Evil originates from a
lack of, something which should exist. This would have to be the mere absence of
actuality that Aristotle stated God
3. Those Winter Sundays Essay
Although the poems Those Winter Sundays, Catch, and Blackberry Eating all have
different themes and elicit different emotions, all three use visually dense words to
impact the reader. The first poem, Those Winter Sundays by Robert Hayden,
highlights the relationship between a child and his father through the description
of their typical Winter Sunday morning. The first clue to their relationship is the
setting of the poem itself: wintertime, which usually indicates an icy or poor
relationship. However, this analysis will focus on the strong and descriptive
onomatopoeia used to paint the picture of those Sunday mornings for both the
father and the child. For example, line 3 describes the dad using his cracked hands
that ached to warm the family s house (Hayden 3). The use of the words cracked
and ached elicit specific feelings in the audience in addition to contributing towards
the relationship between the father and the child. The use of these two words
indicate that the relationship may also be cracked, and the two may be aching due
to the loss of a wife or mother. A mother or a wife... Show more content on

The use of key visual words in this poem helps manifest a scene for the audience in
which the readers can easily place themselves in. One example of this is in lines 4
and 5 where the poem describes one of the boys, or readers, attempting to stoop
down and scoop up the poem s meaning while incorporating internal rhyme (Francis
4 5). Like Those Winter Sundays, Catch creates a visual of a reader working hard
to stoop down to the level of the author in order to pick up on, or scoop up, the
meaning of a poem. This shows that both poems have dual meanings behind their
dense, descriptive word choice; in Catch, the poem uses words that are easy to
visualize as a metaphor towards the methods used to read and interpret a

Florida International University Tying Neurological Research to Readings
In Oliver Sacks The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat, he denotes a deficit is
an impairment or incapacity of neurological function; such as loss of speech, loss
of language, loss of memory, loss of vision loss of dexterity, or loss of identity
(Sacks, 1985). The specific neurological disorder that is highlighted in chapter one is
Visual Agnosia, which is a deficit associated with poor primary visual processing that
affects shape perception, figures, object, face and letter recognition (Serino, et al.,
2014). Other subtypes of visual agnosia that also seemed to fit the descriptions that
Sacks shared is prosopagnosia, which is the inability to recognize human faces (Shah,
2016), and pantomime agnosia, characterized as the inability to understand gestures
(Gonzalez, Mack, Heilman, K., 1986).
In chapter one, Sacks talks about a patient dubbed Dr P, who was a musician,
singer, artist, and a teacher at the Local of Music. Dr P had problems recognizing
his students faces, which is when his problems were first recognized. He could not
recognize people until they started talking or moving, and would see faces where
there were none, such as in furniture, water hydrants, and parking meters. However,
this did not seem to trouble him, and did not seek any sort of medical help, until
years later when he developed diabetes. He went to an ophthalmologist, who told him
his vision was fine, but that there was something the matter with the visual part of his
brain. That was when he was referred to Oliver Sacks, a neurologist.
Sacks did not think that the issue was dementia, but did notice something odd
about the man. Sacks noticed that Dr P would fixate on details about his face, but
not on the face or expressions as a whole. After an initial neurological exam, Sacks
noticed that the man s reflexes were a bit abnormal on his left side, as he had taken
off his shoe, but failed to realize that he did not have it on. He also had trouble
looking at a pin on the floor, but only if it was put on his left side. It is interesting to
note that the left hemifield of both eyes is sent to the right
5. Ladakh Road Essay
Ladakh generally remains cut off from the rest of Indian mainland during winters
as these roads gets closed after the start of the winter snow in November/December
and open in end May or June depending on the weather forecast. The Border Roads
Organization (BRO) is responsible for operation and maintenance of these
highways. Earlier, these routes used to be closed officially after October 31.
However, an account of post winter opening of Leh Ladakh Road via Rohtang pass

late in December and continuing till end May. However, in the last winter, secondary

The snow accumulation at Zojila pass is generally about 40 60 feet. Some of the
captions below provide an account of snow in these regions. In 2017, BRO
provided an annual snow clearance grant of INR 70 per cum for 2 lane roads in
altitudes above 2400m. Considering that both these routes fall in these altitudes,
and assuming on average 5 m of snow cover on two 2 lane roads (7 m wide). The
cost of snow clearance operations combined for these two routes (474 km + 424
km) is around INR 2,200 Mn, besides there are additional grants for air support
provided to ground staff for airlifting persons, supplying fuel and spare parts and
other things by helicopter. High altitude roads in heavy snowfall areas experience a
major drainage problem during spring thaw. The snow melt water flows with
tremendous velocity over the pavement, causing its erosion covered on either side by
snow accumulated on berms during snow clearance operations. The water released
by thawing collects in the centre of the pavement and the road itself acts as a drain.
At times, this running snow melt water freezes on the pavement and causes skidding.
Thaw water penetrates through the potholes and crevices in the pavement. When
subsequent freezing occurs, this thaw also freezes and expands causing damage to
the pavement. This alternative cycle of road thawing and freezing is one of the
major causes of damage to the pavement in snow bound areas. BRO

This helps minimize negative impact to the surface/ground water reservoirs in two
different ways.
One, this reduces the risk of algal blooms in the surface waters. Algal blooms occur
due to the excess amount of nutrients in the water, causing eutrophication.
Eutrophication causes huge plant and algae growth because of the increased amount
of nutrients. Then the plants and algae die and bacteria causes the plants/algae to
decompose, using up dissolved oxygen. This results in a lack of oxygen, hypoxia
and anoxia, in the water. Therefore, many organisms such as the fish die due to the
lack of dissolved oxygen in the water.
Two, this increases the potential of infiltration. Water flows from impermeable areas
like buildings to the settling pond where it can infiltrate into the ground. Rip rap is
the surface cover of the water retention pond. Rip rap creates channels for water to
flow through, giving its high infiltration rate. Even though most of the water would
be drained by the drainage pipes, some would be infiltrated into the soil.
Another water control feature is having a vegetative surface cover on the hillsides of
the venue. As seen in Figure 2, grass, a vegetative cover, covers the southern hill and
trees cover the northern hill. The vegetation stabilizes the soil, preventing erosion and
gulleys. The vegetative surface cover on the hillsides also increases the potential for
infiltration. Grass has a high infiltration rate because the roots and the

Disclaimer: This article is not going to be serious, but after you finish reading it,
you will understand why recruiters are paranoid beings, why we sometimes act
strange, and you will find out why it s not our fault. And if you are recruiter reading
this article, do not take this article personally. It s all in good fun. :)
In this world only the paranoid survive. Dean Koontz
There are two types of recruiters out there: recruiters working for staffing agencies
(including headhunters/freelancers) and recruiters working for companies. Their
state of paranoia is very similar but there are a few slight differences.
Agency Recruiter
Most recruiters around me start in agencies. This is where you learn more about the

This lets you know what the candidate is planning to do so you are not surprised.
You will be more present during your discussion with the candidate and when you
hear the same story that you heard many times before, you are going to know how
the discussion ends. Paranoia makes you a much more efficient and detailed
recruiter. It will affect your pipeline and time to fill, because if you have gut feeling
that at the end the candidate is not going to join your company, you are not going to
stop your search. You will continue to build a strong pipeline so you don t have to
start the search from the scratch when the candidate calls you with the bad news that
you already know.
The longer you spend in recruitment, the less you say to your colleagues I never saw
it coming and the more you say I told you so.
In our life, we are candidates many times and as candidates we should be honest
with our recruiters and not make them more paranoid. If you have more offers, if
you are not sure if this is the right job for you, etc., do not be afraid to speak up. Call
and tell your recruiter the truth about what is going

12. Persuasive Essay On Coming To America
I believe there will be a rainbow after a thunderstorm. As any living thing, we go
through many different occasions. Most of them being difficult situations that
require a bit more than some fine tuning to resolve. We usually try to avoid these
situations, because they are trouble and bothersome. But still sometime these
decisions are made for us, we do not get to decide what happens. Whether it s
another hard day of work to support your family or making anxious and pressuring
decisions that will decide the fate of a company. They are all rewarding experiences
whether the rewardis minimum wage or landing million dollar contracts. I have
never experienced what people might call hardship before, not until I became 12.
Before that, the only thing I saw as problems were school and the occasional fights
at my school. It was never anything serious, just some scratches. A few years before
I was 12, the year I immigrated here to America, my dad has talked about his
thoughts and plans about it. I can remember him putting his hand on my shoulder
with a firm yet gentle grip and speaking Chinese, which roughly translates to You ve

The concert took place on November 4, 2016 in Meymandi Concert Hall, Raleigh.
In concert, I had enjoyed a lot. Especially the Saxophone and a piano subsequently
switched the tune of the tune as if they were dancing like two lovers. As the
saxophone took the airs as well as the piano and other instruments within the
ensemble were in accompaniment for the love of the tune the texture altered within
the tune. The tempo, which was always steady appeared to get quicker like a pulse
by the climax of the tune. It was also at this point the dynamics of the tune were
increasingly becoming louder until all instruments met using a bag on top and then
altered the dynamics again to a reasonable degree until the tune ended. Billy the Kid,

The tune was hot and enthusiastic and shown dialogue without using any words.
The ensemble played this piece by Cassia Lee supplied the drawn out conversation
that sounded like twirling and dancing in the moonlight with the solo as well as
steadiness. This tune reminded me of My Heart Will Go On in that a story is told
of the instrumental nature of it, just as much as when the lyrics are being sung by
Celine Dion. I found listening to this tune a rewarding experience, and it turned out
to be a wonderful start to the jazz concert in that it was not unfamiliar to the crowd.
Waltz for Debby got me question why someone would write this kind of old and
whom Debby was sounding tune for someone he or she loved. It s really difficult for
me to advocate this song to anybody, for I lacked the depth of the other tunes through
the entire evening and believed it was boring. Ancient Memories was a piece that is
wonderful. The tune was enjoyment and I loved listening to the changes over and
over again, although the tune had lots of repetition. The Jazz Ensemble concert at
Tarleton was an enjoyable evening full of intellectually exciting encounters of music
and excellent music that I wouldn t have listened to if not for this duty.

The initial management team will comprise of only a few members, as we grow, we

to run our executive management through a small board of directors (Armstrong et
al., 2014). We will not add additional directors until absolutely necessary. This will
mean that the initial management team will have to work extra. By doing this, we will
keep our overhead as low as possible, allowing us to adequately staff our outlets.
This will also allow us to recoup investments as quickly as possible and enjoy a

24. Examples Of Psychological Contract Breach
Psychological Contract Breach (PCB) Psychological contract breach is the cognitive
perception that an employee has not received everything that was promised formally
or informally by the organization (Morrison Robinson, 1997). Psychological contract
breach is perceptual and subjective in nature (Rousseau, 1989). That is, an employee
may determine that contract breach has occurred even in the absence of a real breach
(Morrison Robinson, 1997). An employee s belief that a contract breach has occurred
may influence attitudes, behaviours and performances, even though the belief may
not be justifiable or the breach may never have happened (Robinson, 1996).
Perceptions of psychological contract breach are quite common. Conway and Briner

25. Patricia Hill Collins Matrix Of Domination
In order to understand the meaning of what Patricia Hill Collins calls the matrix of
domination it is necessary to consider how identity politics; such as civil rights,
feminism, and the LGBT movement could be considered a response to domination.
Domination are forms of power evident in control, exclusion, and discrimination.
Patricia Hill Collins ideas of intersectionality and the matrix of domination are
important because they present an analysis claiming that systems of race, social class,
gender, sexuality, ethnicity, nation, and age form mutually constructing features of
social organization, which shape Black women s experiences and, in turn, are shaped
by Black women (Collins, 2000).

There are two main parts to any matrix. The first would include the specific systems
by which a person experiences oppression, for black women it would be, race and
gender. The way these two systems come together is historically and socially specific.
(Collins, 2000). The second part of the matrix would include the intersecting systems
of oppression and how they are specifically organized through four domains of power:
structural, disciplinary, hegemonic, and interpersonal.
The structural domain consists of social structures such as law, polity, religion, and
the economy. One example is the right to vote, denied to blacks. History has shown
that structural domain changes very slowly. More often than not it only changes
when there has been a large social movement, such as the Civil War and the crisis of
the 1950s and 1960s in the United States.
The disciplinary domain is about oppression and refers to the bureaucracy and
established organizations in our society that basically control human behavior.
Racism and sexism is covered up by these organizations in our

We have identified four basic types of reaction to organizational change. Where do
your change recipients sit? Enthusiasts| These change recipients are intrinsically
wedded to the change idea. They may agree dispassionately that the change will be
of benefit to the organization, or they may stand to receive some personal gain
from the change, such as a guarantee of job security, more status or a higher salary.
Enthusiasts will use opportunities to broadcast approval for the change and will try
to convince others of its merits. They will also model the new behavior early and
will volunteer for membership of teams. These early adopters may also make good

Many studies show that the correct planned vegetarian diet increases longevity and

The biggest concern for all vegetarians is vitamin B12. The studies show that two in
three vegetarians were vitamin B12 deficient compared to one in twenty meat eaters
(ProCon.org). The fact is that B12 is contained only in animal products; therefore,
vegetarians can obtain adequate amount of vitamin B12 only from fortified food or
supplements. Many proponents of a vegetarian diet recommend additional
supplementation of vitamins and minerals, especially for children, on a daily basis.
However, Lindsay S. Nixon referred to Dr. Campbell, who wrote in his book Whole:
Recent reductionist research has shown that supplementation doesn t work. As it
turns out, an apple does a lot more inside our bodies than all the known apple
nutrients ingested in pill form (111). Davis and Melina also pointed out the fact that
supplements rarely contain the complete mix of protective compounds naturally
found in foods...Some evidence suggests that high dose supplements could even
increase cancer risk (49). Simultaneously, there are some other problems with raising
a vegetarian child. Young children may not be able to eat large amounts of fruits and
vegetables because their stomachs are simply too small. Also, they may form strong
feed and eating preferences and are likely to reject unfamiliar foods (Messina) The
next step that often brings another issues is school. Children may be aware of
alternative eating options, but still feel uncomfortable during the lunch time, when

29. Diary Of A Mad Black Woman Essay
Afrocentricity is based on the ideology that African Americans need to re assert a
sense of agency in order to achieve sanity. Agency refers to the capacity of
individuals to act independently and make their own choices. Afrocentricity looks
at the history of the agents and the people that they interact with rather than
economic status. This theory is about the black perspective of society opposed to
the white perspective that society has deemed the one and only way to view
things. The afrocentric theory had five characteristics: a phenom must be studied
and analyzed in a relationship in to psychological time and space. Phenomena is
diverse and in motion, so the person must be able to locate and record the
phenomena and where they stand in that process. This theory is a form of cultural
criticism, this allows for intersection of actions and ideas. The theory seeks to
unmask the rhetoric of power and privilege. Lastly, the theory locates the
imaginative structure of a system of economics (Asante, 2009). Diary of a Mad

30. How Did The Neolithic Revolution Affect The Human Body
The Neolithic Revolution occurred about 12,000 years ago and is arguably the
biggest event in humankind. It lead to the formation of larger communities that
abandoned their hunter gatherer lifestyles for a more sedentary and agricultural life.
Plants were cultivated, meat was cooked, and humans began settling in large groups.
This change in lifestyle created an alteration in diet and a decrease in activity level.
These factors ultimately affected physical features on the human body. Despite
popular belief that the adoption of agricultureimproved human life because of the
growth in population, it actually created several biological changes in the human
body which lead to an overall decline in health due to various skeletal and dental
pathologies and an increased spread of disease among the community. One of the
first regions of the world to have agriculture was Southwest Asia (Flannery 1973).
According to archaeological findings, several regions in Asia seemed to have some
form of a village lifestyle before agriculture even began (Flannery 1973). When
people began settling in villages instead of constantly shifting from place to place, the
population size of groups increased. An... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The first essay, The Roles of Women in British Drama, represents my first exposure
to a new genre of literature. The essay was also one of my first formal and
interpretative essays at the college level. As a woman and a student of literature, I
feel a special connection to this essay s topic of women s roles in literature. In
addition, this essay shows my knowledge of the social, political, philosophical, and
religious forces that influence authors and the people they write about (Oral
/Portfolio). After reading some of the most prominent British plays of the twentieth
century, I observed a discontinuity in the roles of women in this genre. Sadly,
women s roles in literature were very similar to their role in society. During the
twentieth century, women were still trying and failing to emerge out of the roles
they had been cast in by a male dominated society. Even though women were almost
always portrayed as inferior to men, I found a strong exception to this stereotype
through the role of Thomasina. I admire Thomasina s intelligence and wit, but I
truly admire Tom Stoppard for creating this character. As a senior revising and
expanding this essay, I realized how much I have grown as a writer and a student of
literature. When I began revising, I realized that the focus of the paper needed to be
narrowed and focused more on the play Arcadia, in which Thomasina is the exception
to the types of women characters stereotypically
36. The Federalist Papers By Alexander Hamilton
The Federalist papers are essays written by Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and
John Jay with the main purpose to show the pros of officially confirming the
constitution. The essays show an overall pessimistic view to mankind, emphasizing
the reliance men need on government, and the importance of having the best fit
government. They give a great base for understanding the intentions of the
constitution that we, as a nation, still attempt to follow today. Although these papers
were written in 1787, you can find many similarities in today s government, and the
vision we strive for as a nation. Obviously, times have changed, but the ideas behind
our country, and the goal for the United Statesto be the most successful it can be,
remains very similar. The essays starts with Hamilton addressing the people of New
York. Federalist Paper No. 1 focuses on introducing the idea of the constitution, and
why it would lead the United States to the best fitting government. Hamilton is
persuading the people to be open minded. He comes across as if he is selling the
constitution. A major point that Hamilton does not ignore is that many people
disagree with the ideas in the constitution. A perfect example of why someone may
disagree with the constitution is because they simply benefit from the government
without any changes. Among the most formidable of the obstacles which the new
Constitution will have to encounter may readily be distinguished the obvious interest
of a certain class of

his place in those events, but he did have an impact on the society around him. At
the basis of the movie, it is a love story, between Forest and Jenny. While he spends
nearly the whole movie mooning over Jenny, she spends the whole movie trying to

39. Comparing Velazquez And Picasso s Paintings
Velazquez and Picasso made two similar painting s, both named las meninas. Both
of the painting s represent a princess being helped by her maids or helpers. While
Picasso s was very abstract, Velazquez s was very realistic. While Picasso s painting
focused more on the princess, Velazquez s painting focused more on the maids
/helpers.
Picasso s painting is the thought of the first paragraph. Picasso was a very abstract
artist. He almost made his painting s with stain glass. In the painting he made he
made the princess very big and beautiful. The maid stood by making her look
beautiful. I think Picasso was portraying that real beauty comes from the ones you
least expect. Although the princess was, well a princess, she could only become
beautiful with the help of her maids, if her maids weren t there then she wouldn t be
pretty. Although her maids aren t pretty that doesn t mean that true beauty comes
from the outside, and that s what I think picasso was trying to portray. ... Show more

Now Velazquez s painting is far different than Picassos. Velazquez s painting is
focused on the princess. It shows maids running around grabbing things and putting
them on the princess to get her ready for the day. It also shows Velazquez, standing
in the room looking at the chaos in front of him. There is also a dog and many maids
surrounding the dog and bowing to the princess. While the princess stands there and
has no emotion. This painting was titled las meninas. A very fitting title because the
princess does nothing while all the detail is set on the maids that are attending to the

Goal 2: Jasmine and her family will engage in treatment. Jasmine s mother stated,
Yes, I think it would be good to continue with therapy after IIH services is over, but
I want Jasmine to have an input in what type of service she steps down to because
she would be the one participating. Jasmine and her mother listened as the QP
explained OPT is with one therapist once a week, whereas, OPT plus is a two
person team with 3 4 contacts per week. Jasmine commented, I want OPT once a
week. Jasmine s mother reported, IIH services have been very helpful because last
week when Jasmine was doing her homework I took her phone and she said
something mean, but it wasn t a blow out like it usual is. Jasmine confirmed, I am
doing much better with accepting consequences. Jasmine shared, I still feel like
people are watching, but it is not to the point where I want to leave or sit in the care
41. Androids And Blade Runner Essay
Androids/Blade Runner Plot Philip K. Dick s Do Androids Dream of Electric
Sheep (1968) is a dark Science Fiction novel illustrating a future of android slavery
on Mars and a post World War III Earth. Rick Deckard is a Blade Runner assigned
to retire the androids that escape to Earth. Working for the San Francisco Police
Department, he tracks down and retires all of the Androids previously assigned to the
Chief Bounty Hunter, Dave Holden. Along the way he faces several internal battles
about his personal life and empathizing with Androids. Ridley Scott s 1982 adaptation
Blade Runnerdoes not follow the novel exactly. Instead of focusing more on the
ideology of what is humanand Mercerism, Blade Runner is about the chasing and
retiring of these androids. Doing this makes it easier to film and produce an action
movie, but there are several plot points that had to be change to accommodate to the
new theme. The first plot point to be changed was in the beginning, when... Show

He was grabbing a bite to eat when being stopped by two police officers, saying
Captain Bryant sent them there to arrest him. After a series of shot reverse shots
between Rick, the police officer, and the food worker, there is a longshot of
Deckard getting into the police car. As it flies away, the viewer is met with a low
angle shot of the police cruiser flying along with non diegetic music for the
futuristic appeal. Then several moving wide shots capture the mis en scene of Los
Angeles in 2021 with the dark rainy street. Once in the police station, there is a
medium shot of Deckard barging into Bryant s office. The rest of the scene is
comprised of shot reverse shots between Deckard and Bryant. The main plot
difference in this scene is Bryant asking Deckard to come back, portraying him as an
accomplished Blade Runner who is already quit. It takes some convincing but
Deckard eventually
42. Sentinal Fire Protection Ltd ( Sfp )
TITLE
BLANK
Summary
Sentinal Fire Protection Ltd (SFP) is a company that design and specialises in the
design and manufacture of fire detection and extinguishing systems for aircrafts. SFP
have been tasked with carrying out tests on a new fire extinguishant named Agent H3.
Due to the findings conducted in 1994 as per the Montreal Protocol (a protocol to the
Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer), the commonly used fire
extinguishing agent Halon 1301 ceased production. Halon 1301 is a CFC
(chlorofluorocarbon) gas, which the Montreal Protocol concluded, had a tendency to
significantly breakdown the earths ozone layer. The termination of Halon 1301
prompted the need for a CFC free replacement fire extinguishing agent.
The replacement extinguishant, Agent H3 was tested by SFP under controlled
conditions which simulated a bulk load cargo fire inside a compartment with a
volume of 58m3. The effectiveness of Agent H3 was constantly monitored through
thermocouples and data loggers. It s efficiency as a fire suppressant was based on
two criterion set by the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration), the temperature
acceptance criterion and the maximum time/temp criterion, with the outcome of a
lower result being more effective. These results would then be compared with the
known results of Halon 1301 being subjected to the same tests.
The results concluded that Agent H3
43. Good And Evil In Fyodor Dostoyevsky s Crime
Dostoyevsky on Good and Evil in Crime and Punishment
For hundreds of years, man has walked the earth and for all that time, man has
struggled. Fedor Dostoyevsky was an author who worked with that idea within the
novel Crime and Punishment. Dostoyevsky conveys the theme of man s struggle
with good and evil through diction, interactions between characters, and character
development. Diction, the choice of words in a piece of writing. When Dostoyevsky
created Crime and Punishment, he chose certain words to portray a character in a
certain light, evil or good. An example of an evil character is the old pawn broker,
Alyona Ivanovna, The old women...She was diminutive, withered up old women of
sixty, with sharp malignant eyes and a sharp nose. ... Show more content on

In Crime and Punishment, that was true for the character Raskolnikov, I have
come for your cross, Sonia. It was you who told me to come to the cross
roads;...You see, Sonia, I ve decided that it will be better so. (Dostoyevsky 407)
Within their interactions, Raskolnikov chose to go and turn himself in even
though he had tried very hard to keep himself hidden. Why? He did this because he
was exposed to the true good side, Sonia s side. Throughout the novel, Raskolnikov
justified his actions by saying that the pawn lady was a drain on the world and he
was doing the world a favor, yet once he saw Sonia s reaction to the news, he
repented. Since Raskolnikov had gone and trusted Sonia, developed a relationship
with her, he could finally see the error of his ways. Sonia, also, followed him to the
area of his confession, She had followed him his painful way. Raskolnikov at the
moment felt and knew once and for all that Sonia was with him for ever.
(Dostoyevsky 410) Sonia was there, there for him to make sure he did it, to make
sure he ended up doing the right thing. Therefore, interactions between characters
helped get the message of man s struggles with good and evil
44. Research Paper On Giant Panda Feces
WHAT?
The problem is that giant pandas are eating their way to extinction. For around 7
million years, giant pandas have been eating bamboo and it has been their only
source of food for around 2 million years. Studies have proven through a genetic
analysis that tested samples of their feces that giant pandas have microbes living
within them that allow them to actually eat meat. However, over the course of their
lifetime, giant pandas half adapted to primarily eating just bamboo. Researchers are
worried that because of the declining rates of bamboo, that the species will go
extinct. There are only around 1,600 giant pandas still living in the forest areas of
China. The scientists who developed the study of examining giant panda feces said,
The peculiar characteristics of its gut microbiota may put it at high risk of extinction.
Although their microbes allow giant pandas to eat meat, they have been so used to
eating bamboo that they cannot just switch their food source to something else.
SO WHAT?... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bamboo is their only food source, and as humans we use bamboo for building
materials, clothings, weapons, instruments and many more things. I personally care
about this issue of giant pandas eating their way to extinction because I feel like I
have a responsibility to help them. People, although not including myself, are taking
about the one food giant pandas eat. Bamboo is necessary for the giant panda
species, but is not necessary to the human species. If the giant pandas are not causing
any harm to us, why should not be causing any harm to
