Armenian Genocide Causes
What caused the Armenian Genocide? There were many reasons that could be tied to why the
Armenian Genocide happened, but there is no reason bigger than the fact that the Turkish Government
was unsatisfied with the religious state of the Armenians. The Armenians had established their
national religion as Christianity unlike Turkey who was mostly Muslim. The main group that enforced
this was called the Young Turks. The Young Turks were a group that had taken control of Turkey.
According to the United Human Rights Council, [The Turkish Government] exploited the religious,
cultural, economic and political differences between Turks and Armenians so that the average Turk
came to regard Armenians as strangers among them. It started with the Armenians ... Show more

The Turks gave Christian Armenians the brand of Infidels. The Turks favored the Turkish peasants so
much more than Armenians that Armenians were turned into pariahs or outcasts. According to Rachel
Beecroft, Although Armenians were allowed the freedom to practice their faith, mass persecution of
Armenian citizens was a regular occurrence and Armenians were often scapegoated for the Ottoman
Empire s problems. The Turks continually put on anti Armenian demonstrations (Beecroft). Armenian
Christians were not given as many rights as Muslims in the Ottoman Empire, but they still succeeded
in the Ottoman Empire. The Young Turks also put together killing squads called Special Organizations
These killing squads were put in place to carry out the liquidation of Christian elements. Christian
Armenian children were also kidnapped and converted to Islam. After the children were converted to
Islam, they were given to Turkish families. Muslim families moved into the homes of deported
Armenians and seized their property ( Armenian Genocide

The Importance Of Collective Punishment
Look into a classroom and one would see that collective punishment has long been used to elicit good
behavior from students, but it is time for a closer look. Using tactics of peer pressure to try to enforce
rules on surrounding students does not tend to work. Teachers who use collective punishment usually
find more resentment from their students rather than the good behavior they are looking for, which
begs the question, why do we still think of collective punishment as an effective way to make people
conform? Using collective punishment goes against equality between students, and the equity of the
classroom. Schools should not enforce collective punishment as a technique to correct behavior, since
it can be harmful to innocent students, is ineffective at correcting behavior long term, and can help
instruct students to manipulate others with peer pressure.
In classrooms around the world, students are being held back from leaving class, eating lunch, or
going to recess due to one reason; collective punishment. Collective punishment can be detrimental to
students, and can even be overwhelming to children who did nothing wrong, I started noticing just
how devastating group punishments can be to the type of child who wants to please and is determined
to follow the rules , (Watson) as the students don t understand why they are being punished because
they didn t do anything wrong. It can cause resentment in students who did nothing wrong to suddenly
be punished for their peers

Tragic Events During The Holocaust
During the time of the Holocaust, The Jews were persectuted and brutally killed by Adolf Hitler;
because of their beliefs. This event has shaken Jewish religion and still had some after effects. Jews
say that the Holocaust is the most shattering event in history. Because, some of those Jews still alive
today still remember the killing hurt that were brought upon to their people. The Jews view this time
as the most painful time in their history.
There is no explanation to these tragic events; there are some theories. Like for example; maybe Hitler
was crazy and he hated the Jews. So he orderd them all to be killed. Some, say that they were Christ
killers and deserved to die. Raoul Hilberg wrote a book called; The Destruction of the European

The Problems Of Urban Rot
For many years, Detroit has been described as the Come Back City . A presumption will be made that
the significant reasons for urban rot are, among potential others are evolving demographics,
deindustrialization, political disappointment, poor urban arranging, and racial separation. Detroit can
still be viewed as a beautiful city full of culture and art, both in its stately decay and in its growing
natural abundance. Indeed, Detroit remains to be one of the finest sights to be seen with a little
investing from the people. Chartier (2005) of Cambridge University make a valid point by stating
people will not invest the requisite level of care into their resources if they believe their investments
will be lost . (p 374).

Around 1910 and 1980 Detroit s African American populace expanded in excess of 100 times. Ryan
(2008) a faculty member of Harvard University reports that The City of Detroit, Michigan was a
natural subject for the study. Like many other cities in the American Midwest and West, Detroit grew
rapidly, expanding from a population of essentially in 1850 to over 1,800,000 by 1950 . (p 2) The
breakdown of the Big Three automakers has quickened Detroit s decay, and occupants have been
consistently escaping since the 1950s. In that time, the populace has dwindled from around 2 million
to somewhat more than 700,000 individuals; aside from that, there are more than 70,000 deserted
structures and numerous empty lots. Individuals have been relentlessly streaming out of the city for
quite a long time, leaving behind empty homes and scantily populated neighborhoods, leaving vacant
neighborhoods an invitation to more crime and other wrongdoing.
By the mid twentieth century, real changes in the American economy were underway, and the auto
business was on the front line. It wasn t the automotive industry alone that demolished Detroit. It was
urbanization that also played its hand in the demise of Detroit. The city was destroyed by
deindustrialization, and decentralization amid the post World War II spread and when the interstates,
and disinvestments in the urban communities started to dissolve. The auto makers such as Ford,
General Motors, and Chrysler, drove almost

Theories About The Conceptual Nature Of Institutions...
Introduction:
Sociologists have various theories about the conceptual nature of institutions throughout Sociology,
One such institution is family. Some concepts include; The Nuclear Family; The privatisation of the
Family; and Structural Functionalism. These three concepts coincide with one another. Families can
be found in various cultures and society in some form or another. Schaefer (2009) defines the family
as a set of people related by blood, marriage or some other agreed upon relationship, or adoption, who
share the primary responsibility for reproduction and caring for members of society. The family serves
different functions in society, depending upon which sociological theory is applied to it, even though
the family itself remains the same, despite operating under alternating perspectives.
Speaking in a broader sense, the functionalist perspective has mainly focused on the operations of
family within society, and the way it s functions affect various members. It looks at family as an
institution, regarding how it maintains itself, including key aspects such as order, stability, and its
personal significance of individual members. Two of the more well known functionalists are George.
P. Murdock and Talcott Parsons.
Murdock (1949). conducted a sociological study of the family involving 250 different families from
around the world. Using the analysis from this study he argues that the family operates using four
basic functions, for each of the individual

Ethical Dilemmas In What About Bob
What About Bob tells a comical story of a Therapist, Dr. Marvin, and his new patient Bob. Desperate
for help, Bob feels he cannot manage four weeks without his new therapist and decides to crash his
therapist s vacation. The movie depicts many different ethical dilemmas throughout the movie such as
dual relationships, boundaries, and standard of care. Dual Relationships Dr. Leo Marvin, because of
the family s fondness of Bob and his own personal desire for his family members to like and admire
him, he repeatedly continues to let Bob spend time with him and his family. Dr. Marvin should have
been more straightforward with his family about the importance of being overly friendly to a patient
and the implications that could follow. Boundaries In the beginning, Dr. Leo Marvin tries to set clear
boundaries with Bob in a calm manner, but it does not work. In observing the conversations between
Bob and Dr. Leo Marvin, it seemed like the therapist was in too much of a rush to start his vacation
and not enough time to really set up Bob to feel prepared with a plan for his month departure.
Unfortunately, if Dr. Leo Marvin could have been set up for failure as Bob s previous therapist did not

Marvin s reputation was also at steak, trying to commit a man whom everyone else seems to get along

5 Paragraph Reconstruction Essay
Paragraph Reconstruction Ballerinas can tell a story like no other. They are known for being graceful,
having such beauty, and poise in the way they care themselves. When given a part or role they commit
to it, because they are great storytellers it is easy to draw or paint them with a raw and emotional
background. A ballerina is known for having pain inflicted lives. Everything a dancer does is shown
through through their body. A dancer s body is well formed, toned, and defined, but more importantly
it s in their eyes and in their performance. The painting that I am analyzing show s exactly how dark a
dancer s can get.
The background is what sets the mood in a painting. The subtle, yet impressionable brush strokes with
the well blended color. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From a woman s point of view, she looks as if she has reached her breaking point. Trying to stay
strong, her emotions overwhelm her while she dances and it becomes a little too much for her. A cry
for help is upon her. Her hair is also free and in a mess; normally when ballerinas perform their hair is
nice tight and in a bun. Her muscle so defined, and still pale as if she had seen a ghost. You can tell a
lot of work has been put into achieving the body she has. It stands out with the white, flowy, soft
dress.
Her clothing is white. It seems as if she is trying to still maintain her innocence; maybe the dress is
white because it symbolizes who she once were, or someone she longed to be. White coloring is
supposed to symbolize something pure; maybe with how the background is contrast the white coloring
can still show even though darkness is surrounding her, she can still maintain or be the person the
thought she lost. It is very easy for ballerinas to be painted as a tragedy figure because they are great
storytellers. They tend to capture every emotion and every aspect of a tragedy in one s life. The
appearance is everythings, and how they dance. From facial features to silhouette, even down to their
hair. Everything about their appearance makes them the perfect candidate to be drawn as the tragedy

Age Of Reform Dbq
The Age of Reform started in 1820 and ended in 1860. The reform was to try to get rid discrimination
against many things or to improve conditions of life. People wanted life to become more fair and
everyone to be equal. In the Age of Jackson democracy became more popular, democracy is what
influenced the reform. Without these movements the US would not be the same today. One of the
many movements in the reform is the women s rights movement. Women could not vote, attend
schools, or have certain jobs. They were expected to take care of the house, cook, and clean. Two
women named Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Stanton impacted this movement in many ways. They had
the idea to create a convention after they were told women could not take part in the proceedings .
Their convention discussed many things such as, social, civil, and religious rights of women. This was
the first gathering aimed toward women. Later Stanton wrote The Declaration of Sentiments. The
Declaration of Sentiments talked about full equality for women. This document changed society and
women were now allowed to do things they were not allowed to do before. ... Show more content on

The Consumption Of Dairy Products From My Diet Essay
Eliminating Dairy People often times attempt to practice healthy behaviors, but usually, it s difficult to
sustain these goals. Some may pursue a healthy lifestyle, by either incorporating healthy habits or
eliminating unhealthy behaviors. Given my case, I intend to eliminate the consumption of dairy
products from my diet. Some may wonder what exactly is unhealthy about dairy products, others
might be informed about the high amounts of fat within dairy products, and a few might be aware of
the long list of side effects from the consumption of dairy. Oftentimes, people need to be informed on
how their habits have an effect in order to make a few changes in their lifestyle. Initially, I became
aware of the dairy industry from documentaries, but through time I learned more significant and
shocking facts. For this experience, I began to eliminate dairy from my diet since September and
continue this processed until present day. Throughout this process I came across a lot of surprises,
obstacles, and achievements. In class, we were told change or eliminate a health behavior to improve
our overall lifestyle. Most students shared their interest in being more active, quit smoking, or eating
more healthy foods. Personally, I wanted to focus on something that not only affected me but also
others. Therefore, I decided to eliminate dairy products from my diet. At first, I felt like it made no
sense to others, but I remained confident in my decision. Besides, I felt like this was an

Abstract Western Blotting can be used to detect the Myosin actin light chain in different species of fish
and is used to distinguish from different species based on variation, commonality, or evolutionary
divergence. First, proteins are extracted from the tissue and loaded into a gel matrix. The matrix will
separate the proteins according to size using an electric current. Proteins that are separated after are
blotted from the gel and onto a paper membrane. An antibody is then added to the membrane paper

Literature Review On Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation
Literature Review
Introduction
Every day, men and women suffer from a stroke, when the arteries that bring blood to the brain are
clogged, essentially suffocating the brain. This then damages the brain, leaving the victim unable to
walk or speak properly. Oftentimes, these stroke patients can become hemiparetic, meaning that part
of their brain was damaged, and half of their body became disabled or unusable. However,
neuroscientists and physical therapists have developed a way to train the gait of these hemiparetic
stroke patients, allowing them to walk properly again, using Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation(Cha,
2013, Habib, 2009, McIntosh, 2010, Schneider, Suh, Thaut, 2010). As brain plasticity is damaged
severely during stroke, therapists must consider increasing the plasticity of the brain using repetition,
which RAS utilizes(Cesqui, 2017, Gloag, 1985, Habib, 2009, McIntosh, 2010,Särkämö, 2008,
Schneider, 2010, Suh). Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation utilizes repetitive rhythms in order to develop
specific connections between the auditory and motor functions (Cha, 2013, Habib, 2009, McIntosh,
2010, Schneider, Suh, Thaut, 2010). The direct links between the auditory and motor functions
become critical in RAS, as the stimulation of the auditory functions directly benefit the motor areas of
the brain throughout RAS, benefiting gait in hemiparetic stroke patients (Cha, 2013, Gloag,
1985,Habib, 2009, McIntosh, 2010, Morris, 2009, Särkämö, 2008, Schneider, 2010, Suh, Thaut,
2010).

Anthropogenic Carbon Dioxide On The Southern Ocean Essay
Anthropogenic Carbon Dioxide Uptake and Physical Transport Mechanisms in the Southern Ocean
Introduction
One third of the carbon dioxide (CO2) that is in the atmosphere as a result of human activity has been
absorbed by oceans where it can remain as carbon for tens to hundreds of years (Ma et al., 2015).
Anthropogenic CO2 (ACO2) primarily enters the ocean though differences in partial pressure between
the atmosphere and ocean boundary, although uptake by marine organisms is also a significant
dissolved carbon contributor (Millero, 1995). Once the ACO2 is dissolved into seawater however, the
path it takes from dissolution to sequestration is less clear. Millero (1995) found that ACO2 in the
ocean is often transported to a different area of the ocean through physical mechanisms that include
wind driven Ekman transport, eddy fluxes, and lateral transport. Each of these mechanisms contribute
to the transportation of masses of water, and therefore dissolved ACO2, around the Southern Ocean
(Millero, 1995).
Carbon Uptake
Anthropogenic Carbon dioxide is taken up into the ocean in numerous ways, like non anthropogenic
carbon, and ACO2 is considered a component of the total global CO2 (Millero, 1995). The mechanism
of uptake of CO2 is through the differences in partial pressure between the atmosphere and ocean
interface. The flux of CO2 across the atmosphere ocean boundary is largely controlled by the partial
pressure of CO2 in the atmosphere compared to the CO2 in the ocean

Chinese Triads Research Paper
Threat: Chinese Triads pose threats to U.S. national security in relation to drug and human trafficking.
In the United States, these groups are active in most metropolitan areas that have a large Chinese
population, and typically keep their activities limited to those areas. Within these areas they are often
responsible for heroin and methamphetamine trafficking, human trafficking and
intimidation/protection practices. While documented triad activity in the United States reached a peak
in the 1990s, it is not clear if activity has truly been curbed or if the nature of privacy within the
Chinese subculture is preventing the threat from being properly documented. Although Triads are
active within the United States, their involvement in allied states poses an additional threat to U.S.
security and its interests.
Background: The history of Chinese Triads within the United States is closely linked with the history
of Chinese and Hong Kong based triads. The original Chinese Triad formed during the 17th century,
and wanted to overthrow the Qing dynasty and bring back the Ming dynasty. However, by the early
1900s had broken into several smaller splinter groups. Currently, major ... Show more content on

Disputed Territory of Israel and Palestine
The territory of Israel and Palestine has been disputed since 1947, and the conflict in this region
continues to this day. It has become an international conflict as it has spread outside the boundaries of
those nations involved, associating other countries such as Syria, Jordan and Egypt with the
contentions. Other countries have also become involved, with the aim of generating peace and
stability throughout the region, but as of yet, the unrest remains. The recent conflict originally arose
after world war two as a result of the UN (United Nations) allowing the division of the Palestine
region into Jewish and Arab sectors because of the migration of many Jews into the region, in 1930
alone 230,000 Jews moved into this location to avoid the negative attitudes and actions that were
brought about as a result of the Hitler Regime. The Palestinians believe that Israel belongs to them,
and that the UN s decision is wrong, whereas the Jews believe that parts of the land belong to them
because of the religiously important history related to the location, a movement known as Zionism
also encouraged Jews to move to Palestine as they saw it as the natural location to create a Jewish
state. One location that was proven in court to religiously belong to the Jews is the Sheik Jarrah
neighbourhood, where Jews are now being allowed to settle, with the other parts of the population
being forcefully evicted from their homes.

man. The paper will be discussing the results of the Atomic Bombs, along with the effects years after
the initial explosion. People always wonder how many people actually died in the two
Atomic Bombs which were dropped in Japan. This question will be answered, along with the method
that citizens were actually killed by the bomb. Besides the initial blast winds that an Atomic Bomb
gives off, people may be killed by several other things including heat rays, radiation and the implosion
of their home.

In the two bombings there was a large gap in the number of people that died. In Hiroshima the city
population at the time of the bombing was 310,000, The estimated deaths was
90,000 140,000 people. As for the Nagasaki bombing, the city population before the bombing was
250,000. The estimated number of deaths was 60,000 80,000 people.
Notice that the word, quot;estimated quot;, was used for both amounts of deaths. The reason for this is
because, the number of deaths cannot be precisely known because records of military personnel in
each city were destroyed.
There have been several comparisons between the damage capabilities of the two bombs. First of all,
it was said that to achieve maximum blast effect, the bomb had been set to detonate 1800 feet over
Hiroshima. This is approximately
548 meters. The bomb in Hiroshima reached a height of
580+/ 15 meters. As for the bomb in Nagasaki, it reached a height of 500+/ 10 meters. The radius in
which ceramic roof tiles melted was 600m in the Hiroshima bombing and 1000m in the Nagasaki
bombing. The radius in which granite stone melted was 1,000m for the Hiroshima bomb and 1,600m
for the Nagasaki bomb. What can be determined from these statistics is that the Nagasaki bomb has
much stronger heat rays in it, and in turn would destroy more territory and kill more people. As said
earlier in this essay, the location of
Nagasaki prevented that. It was said that when

Women In The Antebellum Period
In this short paper, we will speak about the role women had in society in the antebellum south and
how it was affected.
The Antebellum period, also known as the plantation era, which was happened before the civil war but
after the war of 1812. According to history.net, it was characterized by thee rise of abolition and the
gradual polarization of the country between abolitionists and supporters of slavery ( Antebellum
Period | HistoryNet , 2017). We also saw during this time thee shift in manufacturing from the south to
the north and the beginning of the industrial revolution. The economy was booming in the south due
to the demand of cotton and implementation of the cotton gin which made manufacturing cotton easier
( Antebellum Period | HistoryNet , 2017).
During the Antebellum period, women were not seen as equal citizens compared to men. Social
attitudes did change during this period and most women seemed to benefit from it. Women could

The nature of industrialisation in the 1930s
The nature of industrialisation changed in the 1930s. In the 1920s industrialisation had occurred
because of free enterprise and big business. But with the onset of the Depression, industrial output fell
dramatically. (statistics needed). To combat this, the federal government adopted a role of directly
stimulating industrial growth. The Public Works Administration (PWA) instituted in began many large
industrial projects with the aim of spurring the economy and providing many jobs. The Tennessee
Valley Authority (TVA) was a federal project to energise the economy through a massive industrial
scheme sponsored by the federal government. Twenty five dams were built to reshape the land and
generate hydro electricity, which could further contribute to industrial growth. Another example of
government leadership of industry was the National Recovery Administration (NRA), which
attempted to foster industrial growth through the creation of codes for each industry. These federal
programs fundamentally changed the nature of industrialisation. In the 1930s, the government s
approach to industrialisation was more akin to socialist state style industrialisation than it was to the
American capitalism style industrialisation of the 1920s. Further, the federal government s

What Are The Similarities Between Ancient Greece And Rome
The Classical Periods of China, Greece, and Rome had complex, organized political structures due to
being notably expansive. The development of each civilization s government systems varied based on
location, economy, and cultural values. A successful government required maintaining the service to
the people, stability and urban growth. Whereas, the downfall of an empire was usually caused by
economic recessions, internal rebellions, or outside invasions. While China s pattern of political
control was strengthened by a series of dynasties containing emperors and bureaucrats, Greece and
Rome were dominated by the ruling of aristocrats with democratic components as well as tyrannies.

Overtime, a dynasty grew weaker and tax revenues declined which developed social divisions. As
China expanded, it became harder to secure boundaries. The most significant vulnerability of China s
political structure was allowing excessive power. The Zhou dynasty collapsed due to relying on
alliances with regional princes and noble families which caused the central government to be ignored.
The Qin dynasty weakened because of Shi Huangdi s brutal attacks on culture and high taxes which
lead to an enormous peasant rebellion. The central control of the Han dynasty fell to the expansion of
corrupt bureaucrats causing invasions by the Huns. China required a balance of authority. Greece had
a mountainous landscape so it was hard to develop a single central government. Greece s typical
political organization were city states that used direct democracies. Each city state had a different
governing style. A main factor that led to Greece s fall was the lack of community due to the rise of
feudalism in society, independence, and competitiveness. Alliances shifted constantly while tension

Offshore Drilling Research Paper
Minimizing the hazards of offshore drilling has always been an area of concern. Other than looking at
the dangerous hazards, another approach to minimize danger is to try and minimize the vulnerability
of the system. Oil and different contaminations are scattered more quickly in aquatic environment than
onto land, bringing a major ecological disaster. Money related vulnerability is high and more noticed
due to the fact that oil organizations need to contribute extensive totals of cash to develop these
offshore assets and on the grounds as different commercial enterprises also rely upon the sea
environment, for example, fishing and tourism.

Essay On Minorities In The Civil Rights Movement
Minorities face oppression in any society, each minority having a perspective and situation unique to
their own experience. The complex relationship between the Asian Americans and other people of
color s opinions regarding affirmative action, an outcome of the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960 s,
act as a stark reminder of the different effects of past injustices and current inequalities depending on
the particular ethnic group. Affirmative action, essentially a policy designed to

Essay on Natural Gas Fracking Risks
Natural gas is said to be one of the most popular forms of energy today. In the past, often left
undeveloped and wasted, it was once considered unusable and worthless , compared to oil. In order to
try to break our country s dependence on foreign oil supplies, we have begun to dip into our own
natural gas supply. Natural gas is found underground, and is produced when trapped gas is released
above ground. Hydraulic fracturing or fracking is a process that extracts natural gas from the ground.
As harmless as the billion dollar producing oil companies would want us to believe, environmental

As more and more natural gas locations are sprouting up so close to home, it makes sense to explore
the risks proven to be associated with fracking. Groundwater polluting of communities near natural
gas drilling sites, has been linked to fracking. At least 15 water wells in Rosebud, Alberta, have gone
bad since EnCana Corporation fracked into their aquifer in search of shale gas in 2004 (Nelson 25).
By fracking into the aquifer, the chemicals used in the process undoubtedly contaminated the drinking
water of the area. Nelson also reports of Rosebud resident, Jessica Ernst and her family s experience
with fracking. Ms. Ernst stated that Encana gas told her family that they would never fracture near her
family s aquifer. By 2005, Ms. Ernst says that her water started going bad, she was receiving horrible
burns and rashes from showering, and her dogs refused to drink the water so that is when she began to
pay attention (Nelson 25). It is a horrible thought that a person could get burnt taking a shower in their
own home or not be able to provide their pets safe water to drink. In 2006, Ernst decided to go public,
showing reporters how she could set fire to her tap water, and speaking out about the industry (Nelson
25). One gas company recently bought out the town of Dimock, Pennsylvania, for $4.1 million
because fracking made the water completely undrinkable (Nelson 26). It makes one wonder how large

Strategic Planning For Not For Profit Organizations
Introduction R. Henry Migliore, Robert E. Stevens, David L. Loudon, and Stan Williamson wrote the
book titled Strategic Planning for Not for Profit Organizations. In their book, Migliore et al. explain
how nonprofit firms must use both strategy and planning to secure an advantage over the long term. It
should further be noted that All Bible references in this paper come from the New International
Version of the Bible, except where clearly noted by the student (Skorupa 2010). Beginning with
chapter one and extending through chapter seven, Migliore et al. discuss the operational design for
enhancing the profitability and competitiveness of nonprofits. As a result, this paper will summarize,
analyze, and evaluate the material presented by Migliore et al. (Newburgh Theological Seminary
College of the Bible 2016, 1). Making this type of an examination should enhance the knowledge of
both the business and academic communities.
Summary of Chapter One In chapter one, Migliore et al. discuss how planning strategically can
increase the efficiency and growth of nonprofit firms. Migliore et al. further list five areas that
promote this process: 1) The adoption of successful business practices from the for profit sector to
nonprofit firms, 2) improvements each year in managerial and planning practices, 3) pro active leaders
who believe that planning strategically is necessary, 4) nonprofit firms who learn from their past

Generation questioned the American Dream after seeing the conditions of work places. This was a
change because before this time rarely ever did anyone ever question the American Dream or even the
way of American living. Another, change that took place in the Modern Era was Jazz Age. The Jazz
Age was a tim when the younger generation started questioning a lot of things. The younger and older
generation also started conflicting with each other because they were acting out, being more new
school / modern rather than old school. Change especialy took off during this time with Flappers, who
started to be more rebellious withe there clothes, hair, etc.; Speakeaises, underground clubs that served

The Chemistry Within Oncology And Cancer
Cancer has become an epidemic across America. About 13 million Americans have cancer and a little
over 1 million are diagnosed every year. For years Oncologist have been looking for treatments to cure
this horrible disease(American Cancer Society, 2013). Chemistry has such a major impact on the
research of cancer. The chemistry within Oncology Cancer Research has greatly increased our
knowledge and capabilities for developing new treatments or actually finding a significant cure
(American Cancer Society,2013). This paper is explaining how chemistry is used to seek out cancer
cells, treat, and also inform how the different chemicals are affecting our body.
Firstly, Temperatures can have a significant effect on cancer. A cold environment can speed up the
growth of cancer cells within the body. When your body is cold it starts to react differently by
gradually going into survival mode, making your blood vessels narrow in order to
maintain body heat or our extremities will start to suffer. (Nordqvist, 2013) The process of
hyperthermia is used in two different ways. Local hyperthermia or Whole body
hyperthermia(American Cancer Society,2013). Local hyperthermia uses very high temperatures that
can destroy the DNA of tumors that are cancerous. High temperatures can also kill or injure normal
cells and tissues in your body. Regional or whole body hypothermia is raising the temperature, to part
or the whole body,by a few degrees than normal. The BX Energy Catalyst is

Female Characters Restrictions In The Age Of Innocence
Wharton and Morrison focus on their female characters restrictions in society, and the ways in which
they combat this repression. Within the stringent upper class New York City setting of The Age of
Innocence, the women are judged harshly. Society views them as their husband s counterpart, who
must dress and behave in a specific manner. As seen through May Welland, wives played the role of a
loyal and dutiful trophy for their husbands to show off. Even her own husband, Newland Archer,
views her as property, And he contemplated her absorbed young face with a thrill of possessorship in
which pride in his own masculine initiation was mingled with a tender reverence for her abysmal
purity, (Wharton 13). His pride in possessorship of his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yet, because of the inverse socioeconomic setting, the judgement of beauty is different. In Lorain,
Ohio, a woman s life choice is confined to marrying and having children, working for a white family,
or become a prostitute. Women in this community aspired to whiteness because society s perception of
beauty promotes this and leads the women to believe they can gain more opportunity. Women presume
that this would bring them beauty, and therefore respect. Adults, older girls, shops, magazines,
newspapers, window signs all the world had agreed that a blue eyed, yellow haired, pink skinned doll
was what every girl treasured. Here, they said, this is beautiful, and if you are on this day worthy you
may have it, (Morrison 20). It is this view in society that causes Pecola, a thirteen year old girl, to
drive herself to the point of insanity. Morrison emphasizes Pecola s deep wish for blue eyes, through
her consumption of three whole quarts of milk, just to gaze upon Shirley Temple s beautiful eyes.
Pecola concludes that if she has blue eyes, she will then be beautiful, so therefore she will gain love,
affection, and respect. She believes people often don t look at her or listen to her, especially her
parents and school teachers, because she is ugly. Pecola s desire blue eyes, her desire for people to
notice her, is what she drives her to the point of insanity. Morrison communicates the harm and
disdain that is inflicted upon women by society focusing on their

Regulations Of Capital Investment Products
2. Analyze Regulations in Venture Capital
2.1 In this part, we will put up some typical regulations to analyze whether they are available or
necessary. If possible, we may give some advices to develop these regulations.
BASEL III Requirements and REPO Availability
On Jan 1st, 2014, Basel III regulations show the effectiveness on banks with more than $250B in total
consolidated assets or greater than $10B in foreign exposure. These large banks are important issuers
of repurchase agreements, the capital investment vehicle for the overmuch funds in venture capital
firms. Generally, the US government or a Federal Agency issue or guarantee collateral used in these
transactions, and the agreements reset each day.
In addition, the supply of this high quality collateral has reduced because of the asset purchase plan of
the Federal Reserve. Totally, high quality collateralizes the availability of repo, low risk securities may
diminish over the near term, resulting in a shift towards lower quality, higher risk collateral for longer
terms. We might see the development of alternative interest bearing investment products as a result of
this potential shortfall in repo inventory.
Know Your Customers (KYC) and Anti Money Laundering (AML)
Based on the estimation from the International Monetary Fund, the amount of global money
laundering is approximately 2.1 3.6 trillion a year, accounting for about 3 to 5 percent of global GDP.

What are the weak and strong sides of the competition?
What are the best ways for gaining the dominance in the competition?

  • 2. Armenian Genocide Causes What caused the Armenian Genocide? There were many reasons that could be tied to why the Armenian Genocide happened, but there is no reason bigger than the fact that the Turkish Government was unsatisfied with the religious state of the Armenians. The Armenians had established their national religion as Christianity unlike Turkey who was mostly Muslim. The main group that enforced this was called the Young Turks. The Young Turks were a group that had taken control of Turkey. According to the United Human Rights Council, [The Turkish Government] exploited the religious, cultural, economic and political differences between Turks and Armenians so that the average Turk came to regard Armenians as strangers among them. It started with the Armenians ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Turks gave Christian Armenians the brand of Infidels. The Turks favored the Turkish peasants so much more than Armenians that Armenians were turned into pariahs or outcasts. According to Rachel Beecroft, Although Armenians were allowed the freedom to practice their faith, mass persecution of Armenian citizens was a regular occurrence and Armenians were often scapegoated for the Ottoman Empire s problems. The Turks continually put on anti Armenian demonstrations (Beecroft). Armenian Christians were not given as many rights as Muslims in the Ottoman Empire, but they still succeeded in the Ottoman Empire. The Young Turks also put together killing squads called Special Organizations These killing squads were put in place to carry out the liquidation of Christian elements. Christian Armenian children were also kidnapped and converted to Islam. After the children were converted to Islam, they were given to Turkish families. Muslim families moved into the homes of deported Armenians and seized their property ( Armenian Genocide ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. The Importance Of Collective Punishment Look into a classroom and one would see that collective punishment has long been used to elicit good behavior from students, but it is time for a closer look. Using tactics of peer pressure to try to enforce rules on surrounding students does not tend to work. Teachers who use collective punishment usually find more resentment from their students rather than the good behavior they are looking for, which begs the question, why do we still think of collective punishment as an effective way to make people conform? Using collective punishment goes against equality between students, and the equity of the classroom. Schools should not enforce collective punishment as a technique to correct behavior, since it can be harmful to innocent students, is ineffective at correcting behavior long term, and can help instruct students to manipulate others with peer pressure. In classrooms around the world, students are being held back from leaving class, eating lunch, or going to recess due to one reason; collective punishment. Collective punishment can be detrimental to students, and can even be overwhelming to children who did nothing wrong, I started noticing just how devastating group punishments can be to the type of child who wants to please and is determined to follow the rules , (Watson) as the students don t understand why they are being punished because they didn t do anything wrong. It can cause resentment in students who did nothing wrong to suddenly be punished for their peers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. The Problems Of Urban Rot For many years, Detroit has been described as the Come Back City . A presumption will be made that the significant reasons for urban rot are, among potential others are evolving demographics, deindustrialization, political disappointment, poor urban arranging, and racial separation. Detroit can still be viewed as a beautiful city full of culture and art, both in its stately decay and in its growing natural abundance. Indeed, Detroit remains to be one of the finest sights to be seen with a little investing from the people. Chartier (2005) of Cambridge University make a valid point by stating people will not invest the requisite level of care into their resources if they believe their investments will be lost . (p 374). Ryan (2008) a faculty member of Harvard University reports that The City of Detroit, Michigan was a natural subject for the study. Like many other cities in the American Midwest and West, Detroit grew rapidly, expanding from a population of essentially in 1850 to over 1,800,000 by 1950 . (p 2) The breakdown of the Big Three automakers has quickened Detroit s decay, and occupants have been consistently escaping since the 1950s. In that time, the populace has dwindled from around 2 million to somewhat more than 700,000 individuals; aside from that, there are more than 70,000 deserted structures and numerous empty lots. Individuals have been relentlessly streaming out of the city for quite a long time, leaving behind empty homes and scantily populated neighborhoods, leaving vacant neighborhoods an invitation to more crime and other wrongdoing. By the mid twentieth century, real changes in the American economy were underway, and the auto business was on the front line. It wasn t the automotive industry alone that demolished Detroit. It was urbanization that also played its hand in the demise of Detroit. The city was destroyed by deindustrialization, and decentralization amid the post World War II spread and when the interstates, and disinvestments in the urban communities started to dissolve. • 7. Theories About The Conceptual Nature Of Institutions... Introduction: Sociologists have various theories about the conceptual nature of institutions throughout Sociology, One such institution is family. Some concepts include; The Nuclear Family; The privatisation of the Family; and Structural Functionalism. These three concepts coincide with one another. Families can be found in various cultures and society in some form or another. Schaefer (2009) defines the family as a set of people related by blood, marriage or some other agreed upon relationship, or adoption, who share the primary responsibility for reproduction and caring for members of society. The family serves different functions in society, depending upon which sociological theory is applied to it, even though the family itself remains the same, despite operating under alternating perspectives. Speaking in a broader sense, the functionalist perspective has mainly focused on the operations of family within society, and the way it s functions affect various members. It looks at family as an institution, regarding how it maintains itself, including key aspects such as order, stability, and its personal significance of individual members. Two of the more well known functionalists are George. P. Murdock and Talcott Parsons. Murdock (1949). conducted a sociological study of the family involving 250 different families from around the world. • 9. Ethical Dilemmas In What About Bob What About Bob tells a comical story of a Therapist, Dr. Marvin, and his new patient Bob. Desperate for help, Bob feels he cannot manage four weeks without his new therapist and decides to crash his therapist s vacation. The movie depicts many different ethical dilemmas throughout the movie such as dual relationships, boundaries, and standard of care. Dual Relationships Dr. Leo Marvin, because of the family s fondness of Bob and his own personal desire for his family members to like and admire him, he repeatedly continues to let Bob spend time with him and his family. Dr. Marvin should have been more straightforward with his family about the importance of being overly friendly to a patient and the implications that could follow. Boundaries In the beginning, Dr. Leo Marvin tries to set clear boundaries with Bob in a calm manner, but it does not work. In observing the conversations between Bob and Dr. Leo Marvin, it seemed like the therapist was in too much of a rush to start his vacation and not enough time to really set up Bob to feel prepared with a plan for his month departure. They are known for being graceful, having such beauty, and poise in the way they care themselves. When given a part or role they commit to it, because they are great storytellers it is easy to draw or paint them with a raw and emotional background. A ballerina is known for having pain inflicted lives. Everything a dancer does is shown through through their body. A dancer s body is well formed, toned, and defined, but more importantly it s in their eyes and in their performance. The painting that I am analyzing show s exactly how dark a dancer s can get. Her muscle so defined, and still pale as if she had seen a ghost. You can tell a lot of work has been put into achieving the body she has. It stands out with the white, flowy, soft dress. Her clothing is white. It seems as if she is trying to still maintain her innocence; maybe the dress is white because it symbolizes who she once were, or someone she longed to be. White coloring is supposed to symbolize something pure; maybe with how the background is contrast the white coloring can still show even though darkness is surrounding her, she can still maintain or be the person the thought she lost. • 11. Age Of Reform Dbq The Age of Reform started in 1820 and ended in 1860. The reform was to try to get rid discrimination against many things or to improve conditions of life. People wanted life to become more fair and everyone to be equal. In the Age of Jackson democracy became more popular, democracy is what influenced the reform. Without these movements the US would not be the same today. One of the many movements in the reform is the women s rights movement. Women could not vote, attend schools, or have certain jobs. They were expected to take care of the house, cook, and clean. Two women named Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Stanton impacted this movement in many ways. They had the idea to create a convention after they were told women could not take part in the proceedings . Their convention discussed many things such as, social, civil, and religious rights of women. This was the first gathering aimed toward women. Later Stanton wrote The Declaration of Sentiments. Some may pursue a healthy lifestyle, by either incorporating healthy habits or eliminating unhealthy behaviors. Given my case, I intend to eliminate the consumption of dairy products from my diet. Some may wonder what exactly is unhealthy about dairy products, others might be informed about the high amounts of fat within dairy products, and a few might be aware of the long list of side effects from the consumption of dairy. Oftentimes, people need to be informed on how their habits have an effect in order to make a few changes in their lifestyle. Initially, I became aware of the dairy industry from documentaries, but through time I learned more significant and shocking facts. For this experience, I began to eliminate dairy from my diet since September and continue this processed until present day. Throughout this process I came across a lot of surprises, obstacles, and achievements. In class, we were told change or eliminate a health behavior to improve our overall lifestyle. Most students shared their interest in being more active, quit smoking, or eating more healthy foods. Personally, I wanted to focus on something that not only affected me but also others. • 14. Literature Review On Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation Literature Review Introduction Every day, men and women suffer from a stroke, when the arteries that bring blood to the brain are clogged, essentially suffocating the brain. This then damages the brain, leaving the victim unable to walk or speak properly. Oftentimes, these stroke patients can become hemiparetic, meaning that part of their brain was damaged, and half of their body became disabled or unusable. However, neuroscientists and physical therapists have developed a way to train the gait of these hemiparetic stroke patients, allowing them to walk properly again, using Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation(Cha, 2013, Habib, 2009, McIntosh, 2010, Schneider, Suh, Thaut, 2010). As brain plasticity is damaged severely during stroke, therapists must consider increasing the plasticity of the brain using repetition, which RAS utilizes(Cesqui, 2017, Gloag, 1985, Habib, 2009, McIntosh, 2010,Särkämö, 2008, Schneider, 2010, Suh). Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation utilizes repetitive rhythms in order to develop specific connections between the auditory and motor functions (Cha, 2013, Habib, 2009, McIntosh, 2010, Schneider, Suh, Thaut, 2010). The direct links between the auditory and motor functions become critical in RAS, as the stimulation of the auditory functions directly benefit the motor areas of the brain throughout RAS, benefiting gait in hemiparetic stroke patients (Cha, 2013, Gloag, 1985,Habib, 2009, McIntosh, 2010, Morris, 2009, Särkämö, 2008, Schneider, 2010, Suh, Thaut, 2010). ... • 15. Anthropogenic Carbon Dioxide On The Southern Ocean Essay Anthropogenic Carbon Dioxide Uptake and Physical Transport Mechanisms in the Southern Ocean Introduction One third of the carbon dioxide (CO2) that is in the atmosphere as a result of human activity has been absorbed by oceans where it can remain as carbon for tens to hundreds of years (Ma et al., 2015). Anthropogenic CO2 (ACO2) primarily enters the ocean though differences in partial pressure between the atmosphere and ocean boundary, although uptake by marine organisms is also a significant dissolved carbon contributor (Millero, 1995). Once the ACO2 is dissolved into seawater however, the path it takes from dissolution to sequestration is less clear. Millero (1995) found that ACO2 in the ocean is often transported to a different area of the ocean through physical mechanisms that include wind driven Ekman transport, eddy fluxes, and lateral transport. Each of these mechanisms contribute to the transportation of masses of water, and therefore dissolved ACO2, around the Southern Ocean (Millero, 1995). Carbon Uptake Anthropogenic Carbon dioxide is taken up into the ocean in numerous ways, like non anthropogenic carbon, and ACO2 is considered a component of the total global CO2 (Millero, 1995). The mechanism of uptake of CO2 is through the differences in partial pressure between the atmosphere and ocean interface. The flux of CO2 across the atmosphere ocean boundary is largely controlled by the partial pressure of CO2 in the atmosphere compared to the CO2 in the ocean ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 16. Chinese Triads Research Paper Threat: Chinese Triads pose threats to U.S. national security in relation to drug and human trafficking. In the United States, these groups are active in most metropolitan areas that have a large Chinese population, and typically keep their activities limited to those areas. Within these areas they are often responsible for heroin and methamphetamine trafficking, human trafficking and intimidation/protection practices. While documented triad activity in the United States reached a peak in the 1990s, it is not clear if activity has truly been curbed or if the nature of privacy within the Chinese subculture is preventing the threat from being properly documented. Although Triads are active within the United States, their involvement in allied states poses an additional threat to U.S. security and its interests. Background: The history of Chinese Triads within the United States is closely linked with the history of Chinese and Hong Kong based triads. It has become an international conflict as it has spread outside the boundaries of those nations involved, associating other countries such as Syria, Jordan and Egypt with the contentions. Other countries have also become involved, with the aim of generating peace and stability throughout the region, but as of yet, the unrest remains. The recent conflict originally arose after world war two as a result of the UN (United Nations) allowing the division of the Palestine region into Jewish and Arab sectors because of the migration of many Jews into the region, in 1930 alone 230,000 Jews moved into this location to avoid the negative attitudes and actions that were brought about as a result of the Hitler Regime. The Palestinians believe that Israel belongs to them, and that the UN s decision is wrong, whereas the Jews believe that parts of the land belong to them because of the religiously important history related to the location, a movement known as Zionism also encouraged Jews to move to Palestine as they saw it as the natural location to create a Jewish state. One of my best assets that I could see me using to be a great helper is my patience and my knowledge of how to detect a hacker. I have noticed that many staff members are really unsure on if the person is hacking or is just really good. I could help to ensure that the person being watched is not banned falsely or let go when they were actually hacking. I am familiar with common screenshare tools such as Blsquad and Sarefine SS tool. I know where to/how to find hacks and/or illegal mods. If placed in a situation where I need to screenshare, I am able to easily control and complete the screenshare in a timely manner. The paper will be discussing the results of the Atomic Bombs, along with the effects years after the initial explosion. People always wonder how many people actually died in the two Atomic Bombs which were dropped in Japan. This question will be answered, along with the method that citizens were actually killed by the bomb. Besides the initial blast winds that an Atomic Bomb gives off, people may be killed by several other things including heat rays, radiation and the implosion of their home. Robert S. In the two bombings there was a large gap in the number of people that died. In Hiroshima the city population at the time of the bombing was 310,000, The estimated deaths was 90,000 140,000 people. As for the Nagasaki bombing, the city population before the bombing was 250,000. The estimated number of deaths was 60,000 80,000 people. Notice that the word, quot;estimated quot;, was used for both amounts of deaths. The reason for this is because, the number of deaths cannot be precisely known because records of military personnel in each city were destroyed. There have been several comparisons between the damage capabilities of the two bombs. First of all, it was said that to achieve maximum blast effect, the bomb had been set to detonate 1800 feet over Hiroshima. This is approximately 548 meters. The bomb in Hiroshima reached a height of 580+/ 15 meters. As for the bomb in Nagasaki, it reached a height of 500+/ 10 meters. The radius in which ceramic roof tiles melted was 600m in the Hiroshima bombing and 1000m in the Nagasaki bombing. The radius in which granite stone melted was 1,000m for the Hiroshima bomb and 1,600m for the Nagasaki bomb. What can be determined from these statistics is that the Nagasaki bomb has much stronger heat rays in it, and in turn would destroy more territory and kill more people. The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) was a federal project to energise the economy through a massive industrial scheme sponsored by the federal government. Twenty five dams were built to reshape the land and generate hydro electricity, which could further contribute to industrial growth. Another example of government leadership of industry was the National Recovery Administration (NRA), which attempted to foster industrial growth through the creation of codes for each industry. • 41. Female Characters Restrictions In The Age Of Innocence Wharton and Morrison focus on their female characters restrictions in society, and the ways in which they combat this repression. Within the stringent upper class New York City setting of The Age of Innocence, the women are judged harshly. Society views them as their husband s counterpart, who must dress and behave in a specific manner. As seen through May Welland, wives played the role of a loyal and dutiful trophy for their husbands to show off. Even her own husband, Newland Archer, views her as property, And he contemplated her absorbed young face with a thrill of possessorship in which pride in his own masculine initiation was mingled with a tender reverence for her abysmal purity, (Wharton 13). In Lorain, Ohio, a woman s life choice is confined to marrying and having children, working for a white family, or become a prostitute. Women in this community aspired to whiteness because society s perception of beauty promotes this and leads the women to believe they can gain more opportunity. Women presume that this would bring them beauty, and therefore respect. Adults, older girls, shops, magazines, newspapers, window signs all the world had agreed that a blue eyed, yellow haired, pink skinned doll was what every girl treasured. Here, they said, this is beautiful, and if you are on this day worthy you may have it, (Morrison 20). It is this view in society that causes Pecola, a thirteen year old girl, to drive herself to the point of insanity. Morrison emphasizes Pecola s deep wish for blue eyes, through her consumption of three whole quarts of milk, just to gaze upon Shirley Temple s beautiful eyes. Pecola concludes that if she has blue eyes, she will then be beautiful, so therefore she will gain love, affection, and respect. She believes people often don t look at her or listen to her, especially her parents and school teachers, because she is ugly. Pecola s desire blue eyes, her desire for people to notice her, is what she drives her to the point of insanity.
