The emerging concept of mobile edge clouds equips cellular network entities (such as basestations)
with servers, so that users can run cloud services with significantly lower latency
[2]. The introduction of femtocells allows users to buy their own cellular network devices based on
their needs, thereby reducing the operators expenditure and improving the network coverage [3]. All
these trends point to the same direction.
That is, in the future, there will be more businesses operating on a single networked platform, and the
interactions between them will become increasingly complex. The tradition that does not change
however is that, due to physical limitations, the amount of resources (such as communication
bandwidth, computational capability of servers, electricity, etc.) in the system remains limited.
Therefore, there is a growing need of studying how to efficiently allocate resources to different
business entities. x Q. Song is the corresponding author.
One fast and effective method of allocating resources at market value is using auctions. The classical
sealed price double auction1 is used in [4] and [5], where bids are made privately and truthfulness can
be ensured. References [6], [7], and [8] formulated the cloud resource pricing problem as a multi unit
combinational auction problem, which consider multiple types of computational resources for sale.

How Did John Lennon Influence Society
The Beatles, Yoko Ono, Imagine , war protester these are the things that come to most people s minds
when they hear the name John Lennon. He From the time he formed The Beatles in 1960 up until his
assassination on December 8th, 1980, John Lennon was a tremendous influence to society as an
antiwar activist and a musical legend.
John Lennon was what some people would call a hardcore hippy while he was part of The Beatles.
However, after his marriage to Yoko Ono in 1969 and The Beatles breakup the following year, his
main focus became fighting for peace. He had explored many religions, but decided love, peace and
music were his passions. Lennon expressed his feelings and beliefs through his lyrics. In 1975,

lyrics, but through his actions as well. For example, during his and Ono s honeymoon at the
Amsterdam Hilton in 1969, they had their first of two Bed Ins . During a Bed In the couple invited the

Reflection Paper On Flying High Performance Jets
Beyond the elementary definition of motivation, there is little agreement on the precise meaning of a
concept that is absolutely central to sport psychology (Cashmore, p. 175). I ll be honest. I m fascinated
by the study of motivation and I often reflect wondering why I do the things I do today and what
drove me in the past to do what I did. I figured that if I could discover what drove me then, perhaps I
could establish a more efficient and productive path to my future and also help others do the same.
I lost a lot of friends in the business of flying high performance jets. I m often motivated by the choir
of my dead friends to seek answers to the mystery of the human brain and why we make errors. Errors

We did it because we loved flying jets, period dot. Waving the flag is like tossing pompoms in the air
at a football game. They look good and get everyone s arousal moving upwards, but that was not what
was driving the core of the players. Elite athletes love their sport. They have a passionate drive to
succeed with competence, autonomy, and relatedness. We were all like a hungry rabbits chasing a
carrot and willing to die for it. Once someone discovers their purpose and then running toward it with
all their might, effort, and a solid action plan, absolutely nothing can stop someone like that who
would die in pursuit of that passion.
The purpose of my discussion is to explore, through reflection, the motivation that drove my past in
order to see if I can shed some light on the topic to enhance and supplement my motivational
interviewing (MI) techniques that I have learned this week. I want to take this same spirit of
motivation that is autonomous, internal, inspiring, and lasting to my family, friends, and future clients
who are seeking to perform in sports or other performance related endeavors with competence,
relatedness, and autonomy.
I believe the authors of Chapter 3 and 4 plus Dr. Woolsey s Positive Coaching workshop paper and his
Self determination Theory slide show were excellent sources to help guide me and get the juices
flowing in this process of taking my passion to transform someone into having the same type of
motivation to chase their

Appeals In Advertising
Newspapers, Magazines, Television, Online... advertising is everywhere. Within the myriad of
advertisements displayed in front of viewers every day, there are appeals. Society neglects and
overlooks these marketing strategies that toy with their minds, resulting in skyrocketing purchases
after the release of an advertisement. In Advertising s Fifteen Basic Appeals, Jib Fowles identifies the
appeals he believes are implemented in advertisements. These appeals include sexual innuendos,
powerful images, or comforting displays which draw the audience into the desired product. After
analyzing the ads within the Vogue January 2018 edition, an extremely popular fashion and lifestyle
magazine, the demographics can be determined as a market with expensive taste. The graphics are
extremely feminine and contain Fowles s previously mentioned appeals, like the need for prominence.
Although not all of the fifteen appeals apply to these advertisements, Fowles s list is still valid and
does not need revisions as the readership of Vogue magazine is just a small sample of the population.
Through the appeals of each advertisement, this clear readership is developed, rather than using all of
the Fowles s appeals and not addressing the correct audience. When initially looking at Vogue, one
would simply see beautiful women and lots of expensive products. However, referring to Fowles s
article, the advertisements in the magazine display appeals directed at women so they will be drawn

Since then, company underwent a massive expansion strategy and was operating 575 stores towards
the end of year 2003. BBBY s growth was also fueled by adjoining business segments; it owned and
operated beauty store and specialty Christmas shopping stores. In 2003, BBNY owned 30 Harmon
stores and 24 Christmas Tree Shops stores by 2003.
BBNY followed a niche strategy to create differentiation benefit over the competition. Founder s
strategic focus on creating good customer experience resulting in high productivity and decentralized
BBNY store operations were some of the key reasons BBNY enjoyed high margins on its profit and
low cost structure. Since BBNY went public in 1992, BBNY was a Wall Street s darling stock and was
favored by investors over other retail companies. BBNY stock was trading at $37 per share at the
beginning of year 2004, an impressive 118% gain over its IPO price of $17 per share.
BBNY s Present Challenge Holding large Cash and selecting optimal capital structure
BBNY s business philosophy thus far was based on the cash is king notion and BBNY has strayed
away from leveraging debt in its business operations. BBNY was sitting on $400 million dollars

African American Vernacular English Language Essay
African American Vernacular English African American Vernacular English can be described as an
assortment of American English that is mostly used by urban working class and mostly bi dialectical
middle class black Americans. The language is also commonly known as Black Vernacular English or
Black English. In some cases, particularly outside the academic community, it is referred to as
Ebonics given its distinctive features and similarities with other non standard English varieties. The
similarities with other varieties are evident when compared to various standard and non standard
English languages that are commonly used in the United States and the Caribbean. In the past few
years, African American Vernacular English has been the subject of various public debates and
attracted considerable attention among sociolinguists. This paper examines the development of this
language, its distinctive features, cultural context, and socio economic implications of the use of
African American Vernacular English.
Roots of African American Vernacular English The history and origin of African American Vernacular
English and other varieties associated with it has been an issue of increased controversy (Sidnell, n.d.).
However, the roots of this language were undoubtedly established in the rural South whereas its 20th
Century development as a socio cultural variety is strongly linked to its use in non Southern urban
regions. In essence, the emergence of urban Black English is a

were violent and brutal in their journey to expand and conquer. Mongolians were extremely violent,

violence and war has conquered more land than any other known commander. Genghis Khan himself
has conquered approximately 4,860,000 square miles (Document 1 Table) compared to all the other

Mongols so violent is the stories of their deeds. Document 4 tells a story about an army of 300

The International Monetary Fund ( Imf )
Introduction
In the statement of the 2015 Article IV Consultation Mission to China, the International Monetary
Fund (IMF) concluded that the Chinese economy was transitioning to a safer and higher quality
growth. In particular, the IMF highlighted that China had made good progress in recent years in
reducing its large current account surpluses and its huge accumulation of foreign exchange reserves.
Although undervaluation of the yuan was a major factor causing the large imbalances in the past, the
appreciation of the yuan over the past few years had brought the yuan USD exchange rate to a level
that was no longer undervalued.
Exchange rate, the price of a nation s currency in terms of another currency, indicates the value of a
currency: a higher exchange rate is associated with a relatively lower value of its corresponding
currency. Since Chinese goods are usually valued in yuan, the only currency that is valuable for
Chinese is yuan. That is, a Chinese is only interested in selling and purchasing goods in yuan. Foreign
consumers, such as Americans, have to use yuan rather than dollars to purchase goods from Chinese
sellers. Specifically, an American must exchange his dollars into yuan at first and then uses yuan to
purchase Chinese goods. In other words, the yuan USD exchange rate works as a tool to measure the
price of the dollar in yuan.
Facing the threat of trade sanctions by the U.S. Congress, China announced that it would replace its
decade old currency peg with a

Tone Of Howl By Allen Ginsberg
Allen Ginsberg in his work, Howl tries to present a social commentary and a revolution. Allen
presents the struggle of the time when social pressures were quickly building up, and a revolution was
necessary which would free people from all forms of oppression. Allen presents his experiences which
is an encounter with his friend whom he met in a mental institution. Allen uses several literary
techniques to present the insanities in life and how people continue to struggle with it in life which
ends up in tragedies and cries. Throughout the poem, Allen uses an elegiac tone which is a tone of
mourning. From the very first line, the reader is prepared for what will follow in the subsequent lines
and stanzas. In the first line, Allen says he is outraged, and that is why is crying out to the world to
stop the destruction of a generation. In general, Allen is crying about the oppression and subjugation
in the society. The speaker in the poem appears to be smart. The speaker s words do not come out in a
proper order which makes the reader imagine that he was from a long sleep and he has been awakened
by the reality of things and he wants us to join him through his lane and tell us what he saw. The
speaker does not use proper English, and there is a lot of syntax in the verses which help the reader in
understanding that the person speaking is drugged or has some mental illness. For Allen, he embodies
the mental illness of his friend he is dedicating the poem too in a mental

The Impressionistic Style Of Monet
Monet is a master of the impressionist advancement that rose during the nineteenth century. His
elegant style and vigilant brush strokes tested the structure and set up guidelines of contemporary
workmanship. Unmistakably, in any case, his work was subject to much examination and criticism
from his partners. No ifs ands or buts, Monet s style, as depicted in his delineation titled Water Lillies,
was not a sudden jump forward; rather, it was a transformative strategy of reliable progression.
Nevertheless, it is basic to research to what degree Monet changed his style every through hello

Essay about Love and Person
Love has a definition a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person but yet has so many
different meanings. Thesauruscoping demonstrates the different meanings in which the word Love can
deliver. The synonym of Love, Adoration, does not necessarily mean that these words have the same
meaning. The definition of Adoration is the act of paying honor, as to a divine being or to worship.
These words can be isolated from each other by meaning because they are two different descriptions.
Love is an emotion and Adoration is a way of acting towards another. For example, there may be
someone who loves to go to church every Sunday, being a part of their daily routine, but has adoration

Personification is the method in which a certain emotion is given a human like quality. There are
endless numbers of ways in which Love can be personified. Love is used and/or seen in a person s

Police Interrogations And False Confessions
Police Interrogations and False Confessions
Introduction
Police interrogation is a technique that police have used to gather information from anyone involved
with a crime for hundreds of years. Police interrogations can last a few minutes to several hours. The
police have a right to continue questioning the suspect until they ask for a lawyer (Kassin, 2013). The
suspects call for a lawyer is a right under the Miranda Rights. In the process of interrogation, the
police are not allowed to use cruel or any unusual methods to collect information, the law agents are
trained with techniques to get the suspects to answer all the questions. However, this is not usually the
case because sometimes the police go overboard in getting the suspects to answer their questions. This
interrogation in some cases has led to false confessions leading to the wrong charging of the suspects.
An approximate of one out of four confessions includes false confessions (Redlich, 2009). The false
confessions made by suspects beg the question on how the police influence false confessions. This
research will discuss the various techniques used by the police in interrogating suspects and how they
misuse the systems to influence false confessions.
Police Tactics and False Confessions
From the recent times, there have been various high profile cases of people being exonerated, often by
DNA evidence, after falsely giving false confessions to a crime or offence that they did not commit.

The Sacred Space And Sacred Spaces Forged By The Divine
Since their creation, humans have sought to find meaning from the mundane existence of mortality.
This quest for answers has motivated many to seek out the divine and sacred spaces forged by the
divine. Biblical scholar and historian Mircea Eliade argues that, man becomes aware of the sacred
because it manifests itself [and] to designate the act of manifestations of the sacred [is the] proposed
term hierophany (Eliade 1959: 11). In other words, a hierophany exists when the divine chooses to
reveal himself, by defining a space or object as sacred through the divine s presence. After a
hierophany occurs, the chosen object or space is deemed an axis mundi. Eliade defines axis mundi as,
a universal pillar which at once connects and supports heaven and earth and whose base is fixed in the
world below (Eliade 1959: 36). Using a comparative analysis of biblical texts and scholarly articles,
this paper will discuss how a sacred space, specifically Jerusalem, manifests itself through God s
choosing. Therefore Jerusalem is the holy dwelling place of the divine, because God chose it through
his application of multiple hierophanies and his establishment of axes mundi within the city s walls.
Jerusalem as a sacred dwelling place is reflected though its similarities to the Garden of Eden, where
God created the first human beings on earth. In Genesis 2, God had planted a garden in the east, [and]
a river watering the garden flowed from Eden, there it was separated into four

Art of Near East Royalties
Many people speculate on ancient artifacts with an eye towards its aesthetic value of contemporary

anachronistic spectators of a so called unknown ancient society , the interesting historical and cultural
aspects are embedded within every art piece throughout the ancient world. The ancient near east

The first art piece called Ashurnasirpal II and a Winged Deity, discovered in Northern Iraq, Nimrud, in
9th century BC opens our exhibition of ancient near east art. The presence of many contents such as
artistic canon, hierarchy of scale and composite view is most correspondent to the characteristics of
Old Kingdom period of Egyptian art. The subject depicted in the panel is king Ashurnasirpal II on the

both king and the winged deity fully occupies the entire panel in absence of background features, and
the deity is shown to be slightly taller than king Ashurnasirpal ii, to clarify its identity. The hair, wings
and clothes in both subjects are very much stylized, not very naturalistic, with circular spots

How Did Classical Roman Culture Influence Western Culture
The western world would not be as it is today if it were not for Christianity and Ancient Rome. Many
cultures take ideas from past culture and change them to fit their own. As time progressed, Roman
culture and the bible became prominent in western culture and a direct influence on many social and
political aspects of life. Classical Roman culture significantly influenced western culture and
continues to this day with its politics and art, while the Biblical Judeo Christian tradition influenced
religion and art. Politics were a very important part of the Roman culture and their republican
government directly influences most of politics today. Aspects of the U.S. government today could be
influenced by the Roman culture. For example, the Judicial, Executive, and Legislative branches of

Christianity is one of the most popular religions in the western world. Judaism is the backbone of
Christianity because many ideals in Christianity were developed from Judaism. For example, Judaism
and Christianity involves the Old Testament, specifically the first five books of the bible, but
Christianity also accepts the New Testament. Another aspect of religion that is prominent today is
volunteerism in Christianity. It was one of the reasons the religion grew in popularity so quickly in the
western world. Many churches have various drives to collect food and clothes for the less fortunate in
their community, raise money, and offer prayers to those in need. The biblical Judeo Christian
tradition remains relevant in the Western world and its teachings continue to influence

The Battle of Britain and Sir Winston Churchill Essay
The Battle of Britain and Sir Winston Churchill
Shortly after the Battle of Britain Sir Winston Churchill, the prime minister of Great Britain, is quoted
as exclaiming, Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few. The few
that Churchill was referring to were the brave aircrew that undertook the daunting task of repelling the
massive offensive by the dreaded German air corps, the Luftwaffe. In the year 1940 Adolf Hitler
ordered an offensive in coordination with an attempted invasion of the isle of Britain. The only way
Hitler was going to accomplish this great feat was the assert the power of his Air Force. In November
of 1940 after months of constant bombardment of the English coastal cities, the ... Show more content

Lastly, the least know function of the RCAF was the defense and institution of the Canadian Home
War Establishment. These three roles of the RCAF were the basis for the Allied forces air corps. The
British Commonwealth Training Plan (BLATP) was the program started in a joint effort by the United
Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. The agreement was signed in 1939 to form what
Roosevelt would call, the aerodrome of democracy. In April of 1940 the first air school opened in
Canada. The task of opening this school fell to four thousand aircrew that needed to form dozens of
schools to train airmen. The original school was able to produce 520 pilots with elementary education
in air combat. Out of every hundred pilots that graduated from the school anywhere between sixty and
sixty five were Canadian.ii When the program ended at the conclusion of the war they had opened a
total of ninety seven schools and had successfully trained 82,000 airmen in three years. The Canadian
trained pilots were the backbone of the Allied offensive battles and defensive support of World War II.
The defense of Canada fell under the command of two division of the RCAF, the Eastern Air
Command and the Western Air Command. The purpose of the Eastern Air Command was to defend
the Canadian and American coasts against German U Boat. The first 18 months of the war were
relatively quiet, but from the spring of 1941, the resources of EAC were taxed to their utmost limits in

Mexican American Stereotypes
Mexican Americans are an essential part of the United States diverse mix of cultures. Although a
prominent part of American culture, they are often repressed into stereotypes in literature. More often
than not characteristics delegated to Mexican Americans have negative connotations: poor, violent,
alien, etc. This stems from years of tension between Mexico and America, whose relationship seems
to be a never ending cycle of highs and lows. Cultural critics recognize these problems and work
towards equality within both literary and real culture. With each passing generation, the demographics
of the United States progresses towards being a country without a majority race. Despite this, authors
of realistic literature remain stagnant in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They live in an underprivileged section of Chicago in a raggedy house. This produces the single
narrative s misconception that Mexican American people are lazy. Esperanza defends her unfavorable
housing situation using trees, who do not belong here but are here. Four raggedy excuses planted by
the city (Cisneros 74). The trees act as a representation of the confines society has placed on Latinxs;
there is no possible way for the trees or the people to leave. Though moving away may seem
voluntary, decades of governmental discrimination, such as redlining, keep them trapped in
impoverished areas. Any group would rather live in a pleasant suburb to obviate the humiliation that
Esperanza exemplifies when someone asks her, You live there (Cisneros 5)? This is unfair because the
aesthetic appearance of her house is something she cannot control. Reading these inequalities allows
Mexican Americans to become familiar with their historic oppression, which lets them know their
living conditions are not their fault (Hughes Hassell 215).
Soto delivers a powerful message about being born into discrimination as a minority in Fresno,
California. His novel centers around Eddie, a Latino teenager who grapples with the day to day
obstacles society places in front of him. In this novel, Soto showcases the institutionalized
discrimination he faces through his relationship with law enforcement. Even though he is

The Negative Speech On Famine And Drought
Introduction: (Charlotte)
We would like to begin by thanking the United Nations for giving us this opportunity to speak. Joining
me today are Julia Antony, Ian Rose, and Ryan Amer. We are here to discuss the large topic of famine
and drought. Drought is defined as, A long period of time during which there is very little or no rain
(First picture). These two problems alone are some of the largest overarching issues that our world is
facing right now and have been for centuries. At this stage, no one can ignore the fact that 110 people
have died in the last 48 hours at the hand of famine and drought. (Second picture) Not to mention that
in Somalia, more than 900,000 children are malnourished; that alone is more than the entire
population of children in Connecticut. Now over to you, Julia. *transition to next slide. Body 1: (Julia)
Thanks Charlotte. Extreme rain loss in areas all over the world causes intense droughts. Multiple
complications occur when water is no longer abundant. One of the most severe conflicts caused by
this terrible drought is famine. Famine, described as an extreme scarcity of food, affects over 6.2
million people in Somalia alone. We are still trying to work out how we ended up here, what we
missed, what we did wrong , announced UNICEF senior nutrition manager Peter Harris. ( A Famine
We Made , researchIT CT) Additionally, if not helped, it is said that over 100,000 Somalis will die in
the next few weeks. Little aid is being received in this region,

Over The Many Years Pigs Have Developed And Evolved Into
Over the many years pigs have developed and evolved into what they are today, 30 differing species of
exotic and wild hogs that we know today, all around the planet. Wild pigs, even though not native to
America still pose and ecological and economic risk to the nation. Feral swine, as descendants from
domestic pigs, still pose considerable challenges in population control efforts. (Ditch off 2007, P. 149)
Through strict wildlife management plans, monitoring and follow through actions, we can work to

(Sleeman 2012) All of the initial Eurasian wild boars were released on fenced properties, later, some
escaped there confinement, resulting in more wild pigs throughout the environment. (Mayer and
Brisbin, 2008). The life cycle of these animals entails many characteristics including disease,
predation and even mortality by means of hunters. The free roaming pig population of the U.S. is at an
estimated 4 million. The reproductive strategy of wild hogs predominantly in the southeastern U.S. is
considered very aggressive with high frequencies, intervals and offspring.
Species Description Feral Hogs are a species that evolved in a relatively short period of time on the
North American Continent. Even though there genetics are very similar if in most cases are the same
to domesticated swine, there are noticeable differences. Feral swine over the current domesticated pig

dorsally from the neck to the backend, a straight heavily tufted tail, and ears covered with hair. (NSRL
2016) Even though the physical attributes of these wild boars differ greatly from their counterparts,
the characteristics of feral hogs are still very much varied, depending upon the breed of the ancestral
stock. European wild hogs and feral hogs interbreed readily, with traits of European wild hogs

Battle Of The Santa Cruz Islands Research Paper
The Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands was a naval battle between the United States Navy and the
Imperial Japanese Navy. This was one of a hand full of naval battles that happen within visual range
of each other. The first strikes of the battle took place on 26 October 1942. The two fleets pulled out of
range from each other on 27 October 1942. The battle took place in the Pacific Ocean around the
Solomon Islands. This battle was labeled as a Japanese tactical victory, but later to prove that it was an
American strategic victory. Due to the amount of damage and loses that the Japanese Navy took. It
took away from the fleets involvement in the battle for Guadalcanal, contributing to the Allied victory
in that campaign. The battle took place ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But with the fleets being so close to each other it was hard for them to move about for more tactical
placement. So, with the size of the Japanese fleet and the fact that they got off with the attack first lead
them to sink one of the Allied carriers. But also with the amount of damage the Japanese fleet took,
the Allied forces used that to push harder and win battles against the naval fleets of Japan. So on the
grand scale of things this battle was a Japanese tactical victory, but later to prove that it was an
American strategic victory. So most Naval expert have the argument that overall battle was a win for
the Allied fleet, due to the heavy loss of aircraft from the Japanese fleet. When other s stand by the lost
carrier of the Allied to the Japanese fleet. I believe that when you look at total damage to both fleets to
include aircraft. I still think that the Japanese fleet won this battle. When you look more into larger
scale the information that is present yes it was a strategic victory for the Allied forces. With being able
to repair and push the ships back into battles and the fact that they still had many of their seasoned
aircraft crews. Helped down the road for an overall victory over the Japanese. In many Naval books
this battle is used as an example on how a small battle can still affect the overall victory and how in
this case it did. It also is

Metamorphosis In Metamorphosis
Metamorphosis is often described as a change of the form or nature of a thing or a person into a
completely different one, by natural or supernatural means. Gregor Samsa led an ordinary and rather
mundane life as a traveling salesman who spent the majority of his time on the road with little time to
form friendships or relationship with anyone outside of his small family. Once filled with gratitude by
providing for his family, he is soon filled with resentment and obligation as his family adjusts to their
newfound income. All of which comes to a halt when Gregor wakes up late to work and is horrified by

Prior to the metamorphosis Gregor led a physically isolating life with little time for anything other
than superficial relationships. Hinted at the beginning of the piece he longed to break free from his
traveling salesman s job and shrug off the financial burden placed on his back. The metamorphosis
was equally as mentally imprisoning as to what it was physically. Gregor was unable to express his
emotions or even communicate his needs to his family this ultimately led to the family s gradual shift
of resentment towards him solely because they were unable to see how much of their once family
member remained. While the weeks and months passed Grete and his mother and father struggled to
give little any compassion or concern for Gregor as their finances plummeted to the ground. Prior to
his metamorphosis Gregor was physically alienated from any semblance of a social life due to his job
and financial obligation to his family afterward the transformation and he was deemed a burden to his
family that he had provided for countless months he was psychologically isolated from them as well.
Notably while Gregor had finally been emancipated from his dreaded job as a salesman, he had
become a parasitic to his family without being labeled as a provider they slowly began to turn against
him only worsening his mental state and exile. Sympathy just as any other emotion has limits and

Design For Environment, Manufacture And Assembly

Assembly: 2016 Assignment 2: Design for Manufacture and Assembly SHUO WANG 201089902
Summary of DFE output from Ass. 1 (15%)*, DFE aims to reduce the environmental impacts
associated with products. In theory, this encompasses all the processes which occur during the lifetime
of the product, starting with the extraction of raw materials needed for parts of the product and ending
with the final disposal in landfills or through incineration. In between, a huge number of processes
take place even with the simplest of products, from refining the materials to production of parts,
assembly, packaging, distribution, use by the customer, possibly recycling, etc. In my opinion, Design
for Environment (DFE) methods and tools are umbrella term describing techniques used to
incorporate an environmental component into products and services before they enter the production
phase. In recent years, Design for Environment (DFE) has become more and more important for
companies. DFE seeks to find product innovations that will meet cost and performance objectives
while reducing pollution and waste throughout the lifecycle. In recent years, there has been a trend
towards the rapid development of DFE methods and tools. In the process of DFE analysis, it uses four
methods to analyse the design of coffeemaker, it includes MET, BIRCH, MACDONALD SMITH and

Social Hierarchy In Lord Of The Flies Quote Analysis
Though the general principles of statecraft have survived the rise and fall of empires, every increase of
knowledge has brought about changes in the political, economic, and social structure John Boyd Orr.
A social hierarchy has been present since the earliest of times, and is still relevant today. When a plane
crash lands on an island in the middle of the ocean and only twelve and six year old boys are left to
fend for themselves, they begin to start over and the reader watches them change from proper young
men to uncivilized savages. Throughout the story Lord of the Flies by William Golding, the reader
watches the boys that have started over on the island develop into a classic example of social
hierarchy without any guidance or outside influence. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the first meeting, all of the characters are meeting each other, figuring out personalities and the
logistics of their new predicament. When the boys come to the realization that there are no adults and
there are no rules, they decide that they need a to elect a ruler, or chief. I ought to be chief, said Jack
with simple arrogance... Let s have a vote .... Vote for chief ... Ralph raised a hand for silence. All
right, who wants Jack for chief (22 23)? The main idea of Lord of the Flies is starting civilization over
and observing the direction that it takes. In this scene, it can be observed that in human nature and
instinct there is a desire for a social hierarchy and order, because that is what is comfortable and most
natural. Without an adult or person of more life experience than twelve years providing guidance, the
adolescents are able to cultivate their own structured environment to fill their needs, which happens to
be an arrangement of social

Nowadays, because of the fast evolution of electronic device, The recent developments in permanent
magnet materials, solid state devices and microelectronic have led to the appearance of a new energy
efficient drives using permanent magnet brushless direct current motors (PMBLDCM). Brushless
direct current (BLDC) motors are preferred as small horsepower control motors because their
efficiency is very high, the operation is in a silent mode, has a compact form, contains high precision,
low maintenance, Its structure is simple, and has a large torque, etc. Hence, it is extensively used in
national defense, aerospace, robotics, industrial process control, precision machine tools, automotive
electronics, household appliances and office automation [1]. However, the problems are found in these

semiconductors, microprocessors, adjustable speed drivers control schemes and permanent magnet
brushless electric motor production have been joined to enable reliable, cost effective solution for a
wide area of adjustable speed applications. As the name reveals, Brushless motors have no brushes
and commutators. In direct current (brushed) motors, the switching of current in coils of the armature
is done using the combination of brushes and commutators but in the brushless, the commutation
process is achieved with the help of electronic circuit, which diminishes the mechanic losses and the

Chapter 2:
1. This was an example of Folkways because in the first segment of the eight, the natives showed
talked about how they do stuff in their island. While they were talking about coming to the U.S., I saw
the way they were all dressed by only covering their groin area and having the rest of their body
exposed especially their buttocks. Even the women only had their groin area cover not even the breast
area was cover. While they were getting ready to come to America, they realized that they would have
to wear clothes to cover their whole body and they were not use to that and the other natives were
laughing. This is part of a Folkway because it shows the way their culture is and how they live day to
day. 2. This is an example of Non material Culture because in all the segments, you can see that when
the Natives talk about how they have chickens and a few pigs that they own and that they feed off of
the plants or stuff that they grow in the garden. Their custom idea that they have in their culture is to
have joy and peace and love. 3. This is a example of Cultural Diffusion because when the Natives

The emerging concept of mobile edge clouds equips cellular network entities (such as basestations) with servers, so that users can run cloud services with significantly lower latency [2]. The introduction of femtocells allows users to buy their own cellular network devices based on their needs, thereby reducing the operators expenditure and improving the network coverage [3]. All these trends point to the same direction. That is, in the future, there will be more businesses operating on a single networked platform, and the interactions between them will become increasingly complex. The tradition that does not change however is that, due to physical limitations, the amount of resources (such as communication bandwidth, computational capability of servers, electricity, etc.) in the system remains limited. Therefore, there is a growing need of studying how to efficiently allocate resources to different business entities. x Q. Song is the corresponding author. One fast and effective method of allocating resources at market value is using auctions. The classical sealed price double auction1 is used in [4] and [5], where bids are made privately and truthfulness can be ensured. References [6], [7], and [8] formulated the cloud resource pricing problem as a multi unit combinational auction problem, which consider multiple types of computational resources for sale. He From the time he formed The Beatles in 1960 up until his assassination on December 8th, 1980, John Lennon was a tremendous influence to society as an antiwar activist and a musical legend. John Lennon was what some people would call a hardcore hippy while he was part of The Beatles. However, after his marriage to Yoko Ono in 1969 and The Beatles breakup the following year, his main focus became fighting for peace. He had explored many religions, but decided love, peace and music were his passions. Lennon expressed his feelings and beliefs through his lyrics. • 6. Reflection Paper On Flying High Performance Jets Beyond the elementary definition of motivation, there is little agreement on the precise meaning of a concept that is absolutely central to sport psychology (Cashmore, p. 175). I ll be honest. I m fascinated by the study of motivation and I often reflect wondering why I do the things I do today and what drove me in the past to do what I did. I figured that if I could discover what drove me then, perhaps I could establish a more efficient and productive path to my future and also help others do the same. I lost a lot of friends in the business of flying high performance jets. I m often motivated by the choir of my dead friends to seek answers to the mystery of the human brain and why we make errors. Errors are what kill most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We did it because we loved flying jets, period dot. Waving the flag is like tossing pompoms in the air at a football game. They look good and get everyone s arousal moving upwards, but that was not what was driving the core of the players. Elite athletes love their sport. They have a passionate drive to succeed with competence, autonomy, and relatedness. We were all like a hungry rabbits chasing a carrot and willing to die for it. Once someone discovers their purpose and then running toward it with all their might, effort, and a solid action plan, absolutely nothing can stop someone like that who would die in pursuit of that passion. The purpose of my discussion is to explore, through reflection, the motivation that drove my past in order to see if I can shed some light on the topic to enhance and supplement my motivational interviewing (MI) techniques that I have learned this week. I want to take this same spirit of motivation that is autonomous, internal, inspiring, and lasting to my family, friends, and future clients who are seeking to perform in sports or other performance related endeavors with competence, relatedness, and autonomy. I believe the authors of Chapter 3 and 4 plus Dr. Woolsey s Positive Coaching workshop paper and his Self determination Theory slide show were excellent sources to help guide me and get the juices flowing in this process of taking my passion to transform someone into having the same type of motivation to chase their ... • 7. Appeals In Advertising Newspapers, Magazines, Television, Online... advertising is everywhere. Within the myriad of advertisements displayed in front of viewers every day, there are appeals. Society neglects and overlooks these marketing strategies that toy with their minds, resulting in skyrocketing purchases after the release of an advertisement. In Advertising s Fifteen Basic Appeals, Jib Fowles identifies the appeals he believes are implemented in advertisements. These appeals include sexual innuendos, powerful images, or comforting displays which draw the audience into the desired product. After analyzing the ads within the Vogue January 2018 edition, an extremely popular fashion and lifestyle magazine, the demographics can be determined as a market with expensive taste. The graphics are extremely feminine and contain Fowles s previously mentioned appeals, like the need for prominence. Although not all of the fifteen appeals apply to these advertisements, Fowles s list is still valid and does not need revisions as the readership of Vogue magazine is just a small sample of the population. Through the appeals of each advertisement, this clear readership is developed, rather than using all of the Fowles s appeals and not addressing the correct audience. When initially looking at Vogue, one would simply see beautiful women and lots of expensive products. However, referring to Fowles s article, the advertisements in the magazine display appeals directed at women so they will be drawn into a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

United Airlines 811 On February 24th, 1989 United Airlines 811 (UA811) took off from Honolulu International Airport, Hawaii (HNL) for a regularly scheduled 8 hour flight to Auckland, New Zealand. UA811 departed Gate 10, at HNL, 3 minutes late with 3 flight crew, 15 flight attendants and 337 passengers onboard (NTSB, 1992, p. 1). • 14. The International Monetary Fund ( Imf ) Introduction In the statement of the 2015 Article IV Consultation Mission to China, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) concluded that the Chinese economy was transitioning to a safer and higher quality growth. In particular, the IMF highlighted that China had made good progress in recent years in reducing its large current account surpluses and its huge accumulation of foreign exchange reserves. Although undervaluation of the yuan was a major factor causing the large imbalances in the past, the appreciation of the yuan over the past few years had brought the yuan USD exchange rate to a level that was no longer undervalued. Exchange rate, the price of a nation s currency in terms of another currency, indicates the value of a currency: a higher exchange rate is associated with a relatively lower value of its corresponding currency. Since Chinese goods are usually valued in yuan, the only currency that is valuable for Chinese is yuan. That is, a Chinese is only interested in selling and purchasing goods in yuan. Foreign consumers, such as Americans, have to use yuan rather than dollars to purchase goods from Chinese sellers. Specifically, an American must exchange his dollars into yuan at first and then uses yuan to purchase Chinese goods. In other words, the yuan USD exchange rate works as a tool to measure the price of the dollar in yuan. Facing the threat of trade sanctions by the U.S. Congress, China announced that it would replace its decade old currency peg with a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Allen uses several literary techniques to present the insanities in life and how people continue to struggle with it in life which ends up in tragedies and cries. Throughout the poem, Allen uses an elegiac tone which is a tone of mourning. From the very first line, the reader is prepared for what will follow in the subsequent lines and stanzas. In the first line, Allen says he is outraged, and that is why is crying out to the world to stop the destruction of a generation. In general, Allen is crying about the oppression and subjugation in the society. The speaker in the poem appears to be smart. The speaker s words do not come out in a proper order which makes the reader imagine that he was from a long sleep and he has been awakened by the reality of things and he wants us to join him through his lane and tell us what he saw. The speaker does not use proper English, and there is a lot of syntax in the verses which help the reader in understanding that the person speaking is drugged or has some mental illness. The suspects call for a lawyer is a right under the Miranda Rights. In the process of interrogation, the police are not allowed to use cruel or any unusual methods to collect information, the law agents are trained with techniques to get the suspects to answer all the questions. This quest for answers has motivated many to seek out the divine and sacred spaces forged by the divine. Biblical scholar and historian Mircea Eliade argues that, man becomes aware of the sacred because it manifests itself [and] to designate the act of manifestations of the sacred [is the] proposed term hierophany (Eliade 1959: 11). In other words, a hierophany exists when the divine chooses to reveal himself, by defining a space or object as sacred through the divine s presence. After a hierophany occurs, the chosen object or space is deemed an axis mundi. Eliade defines axis mundi as, a universal pillar which at once connects and supports heaven and earth and whose base is fixed in the world below (Eliade 1959: 36). Using a comparative analysis of biblical texts and scholarly articles, this paper will discuss how a sacred space, specifically Jerusalem, manifests itself through God s choosing. Therefore Jerusalem is the holy dwelling place of the divine, because God chose it through his application of multiple hierophanies and his establishment of axes mundi within the city s walls. Design For Environment, Manufacture And Assembly School of Engineering TDS Appliances Ltd MNFG413 Design for Environment, Manufacture and Assembly: 2016 Assignment 2: Design for Manufacture and Assembly SHUO WANG 201089902 Summary of DFE output from Ass. 1 (15%)*, DFE aims to reduce the environmental impacts associated with products. In theory, this encompasses all the processes which occur during the lifetime of the product, starting with the extraction of raw materials needed for parts of the product and ending with the final disposal in landfills or through incineration. In between, a huge number of processes take place even with the simplest of products, from refining the materials to production of parts, assembly, packaging, distribution, use by the customer, possibly recycling, etc. In my opinion, Design for Environment (DFE) methods and tools are umbrella term describing techniques used to incorporate an environmental component into products and services before they enter the production phase. In recent years, Design for Environment (DFE) has become more and more important for companies. DFE seeks to find product innovations that will meet cost and performance objectives while reducing pollution and waste throughout the lifecycle. In recent years, there has been a trend towards the rapid development of DFE methods and tools. In the process of DFE analysis, it uses four methods to analyse the design of coffeemaker, it includes MET, BIRCH, MACDONALD SMITH and LUTTROP. Based on MET method,we can ... • 33. Social Hierarchy In Lord Of The Flies Quote Analysis Though the general principles of statecraft have survived the rise and fall of empires, every increase of knowledge has brought about changes in the political, economic, and social structure John Boyd Orr. A social hierarchy has been present since the earliest of times, and is still relevant today. When a plane crash lands on an island in the middle of the ocean and only twelve and six year old boys are left to fend for themselves, they begin to start over and the reader watches them change from proper young men to uncivilized savages. Throughout the story Lord of the Flies by William Golding, the reader watches the boys that have started over on the island develop into a classic example of social hierarchy without any guidance or outside influence. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the first meeting, all of the characters are meeting each other, figuring out personalities and the logistics of their new predicament. When the boys come to the realization that there are no adults and there are no rules, they decide that they need a to elect a ruler, or chief. I ought to be chief, said Jack with simple arrogance... Let s have a vote .... Vote for chief ... Ralph raised a hand for silence. All right, who wants Jack for chief (22 23)? The main idea of Lord of the Flies is starting civilization over and observing the direction that it takes. In this scene, it can be observed that in human nature and instinct there is a desire for a social hierarchy and order, because that is what is comfortable and most natural. Without an adult or person of more life experience than twelve years providing guidance, the adolescents are able to cultivate their own structured environment to fill their needs, which happens to be an arrangement of social ... • 34. A New Energy Efficient Drives Using Permanent Magnet... Nowadays, because of the fast evolution of electronic device, The recent developments in permanent magnet materials, solid state devices and microelectronic have led to the appearance of a new energy efficient drives using permanent magnet brushless direct current motors (PMBLDCM). Brushless direct current (BLDC) motors are preferred as small horsepower control motors because their efficiency is very high, the operation is in a silent mode, has a compact form, contains high precision, low maintenance, Its structure is simple, and has a large torque, etc. Hence, it is extensively used in national defense, aerospace, robotics, industrial process control, precision machine tools, automotive electronics, household appliances and office automation [1]. However, the problems are found in these motor for variable speed operation over last decades keeping technology growth in power semiconductors, microprocessors, adjustable speed drivers control schemes and permanent magnet brushless electric motor production have been joined to enable reliable, cost effective solution for a wide area of adjustable speed applications. As the name reveals, Brushless motors have no brushes and commutators. In direct current (brushed) motors, the switching of current in coils of the armature is done using the combination of brushes and commutators but in the brushless, the commutation process is achieved with the help of electronic circuit, which diminishes the mechanic losses and the efficiency ... While they were talking about coming to the U.S., I saw the way they were all dressed by only covering their groin area and having the rest of their body exposed especially their buttocks. Even the women only had their groin area cover not even the breast area was cover. While they were getting ready to come to America, they realized that they would have to wear clothes to cover their whole body and they were not use to that and the other natives were laughing. This is part of a Folkway because it shows the way their culture is and how they live day to day. 2. This is an example of Non material Culture because in all the segments, you can see that when the Natives talk about how they have chickens and a few pigs that they own and that they feed off of the plants or stuff that they grow in the garden. Their custom idea that they have in their culture is to have joy and peace and love. 3. This is a example of Cultural Diffusion because when the Natives arrive to the ranch in Montana that they will be staying at for a while in segment 2 and 3, they see how the couple in Montana has different cultural elements than they do because the women just don t do all the cooking, the men also help out the grown women told ...
