This document discusses the penetration test used to measure the consistency of asphalt cement. It describes how the test is conducted by loading a standard needle into an asphalt cement sample submerged in a water bath at 77°F for 5 seconds. The penetration reading is recorded in 1/10 mm units and repeated three times to get the average. Higher penetration values indicate softer asphalt grades. Five standard penetration grades - 40-50, 60-70, 85-100, 120-150, 200-300 - are used to classify asphalt cement based on this test.

Modification of Asphalt by the Use of Crumb RubberIJERA Editor
Health aspects enforced to ponder a study on asphalt which incorporate rubber crumbs to increase strength and flexibility of asphalt. Disposal of waste tires is a menace and it’s a serious problem globally because it is not easily biodegradable as these tires consume large spaces, open burning cause serious problems. By the use of rubber tires, this scrap is utilized efficiently and reduces the cost of asphalt to produce economical system. The asphalt is absorbed by the rubber particles which swells at high temperature allowing greater concentration of liquid asphalt. The partial replacement of crumb rubber in asphalt is 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% (D05, D10, D15, and D20). The analysis of incorporated asphalt was done in hot mix asphalt. The generated results showed that the value for resilient modulus and creep stiffness is more as compared to the conventional asphalt and in the accumulated strain the values are much lesser which is positive approach.

HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL & PRACTICE
Age hardening is a result of a number of factors, the principal ones being
Oxidation. The reaction of oxygen with the asphalt binder.
Volatilization. The evaporation of the lighter constituents of asphalt binder. It is primarily a function of temperature and occurs principally during HMA production.
Polymerization. The combining of like molecules to form larger molecules. These larger molecules are thought to cause a progressive hardening.
The important role of bitumen testing in construction for durable, reliable infrastructure. Construction is a complex symphony of various materials and techniques orchestrated to build durable and safe structures. Among these materials, bitumen stands as a cornerstone, especially in the realm of road construction. However, the importance of ensuring the quality and reliability of bitumen before its application cannot be overstated. Bitumen testing plays a pivotal role in this regard, serving as the bedrock for sturdy, long-lasting roads and infrastructure.

This ppt is based on Sampling of cement and two of its tests.
Sampling is the removal of a portion from a given lot of material which is then a representative of the whole lot and of a convenient size for further testing.
It is done either by hand or by an equipment.
Hand sampling is usually expensive, slow, and inaccurate, (so that it is generally applied only where the material is not suitable for equipment sampling or where machinery is either not available or too expensive to install.
Many different sampling devices are available, including shovels, pipe samplers, and automatic machine samplers.

Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.

Asphalt Cements
Asphalt cement is obtained by the distillation process from
crude petroleum using different refining techniques.
At ambient temperatures asphalt cement is a black, sticky,
semisolid, and a highly viscous material.
The largest use of asphalt cement is in the production of
Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA), which is primarily used in the con-
struction of flexible pavements throughout the world.
The asphalt cement can readily be liquefied by applying
heat for mixing with mineral aggregates to produce HMA.
Being very sticky, it adheres to the aggregate particles and
binds them together.

Asphalt Consistancy and grade
Several standard grades of asphalt cement, based on con-
sistency, are available commercially.
Three methods have been primarily used to classify asphalt
cements: penetration, viscosity, and performance grade.
The penetration grading of asphalt cement is specified in
ASTM D946 and IS 1203-1978 and is primarily controlled
by the penetration test.
Five standard penetration graded asphalt cements, 40-50,
60-70, 85-100, 120-150, and 200–300, are used for paving
grade asphalt.

Asphalt Consistancy and grade (cont.)
Obviously, the higher the penetration, the softer the asphalt
cement.
Therefore, a 40-50 pen grade is the hardest grade, and a
200-300 pen grade is the softest grade.

Consistancy
Consistency describes the degree of fluidity of asphalt ce-
ment at any particular temperature.
Since asphalt cement is a thermoplastic material, its con-
sistency varies with the temperature.
Therefore, it is necessary to measure the consistency of dif-
ferent asphalt cements at the same temperature and shear
loading conditions if comparisons are to be made.
These tests are not normally used much today since the
adoption of the latest testing methodologies.

Penetration Test
The penetration test is an empirical test used to measure
the consistency of asphalt cement.
Usually penetration is measured at 77◦F (25◦C) which also
approximates average service temperature of the HMA pave-
ments.
At this temperature no simple test method is currently avail-
able to measure the consistency of asphalt cement in terms
of viscosity
Although viscosity is the preferred form of measurement, so
the penetration test is used.
