A String In The Harp Analysis
Welsh History, Geography, and Culture A String in the Harp, by Nancy Bond, is a fantasy about an
American family overcoming the devastating loss of their mother. To help cope with the pain, the
children s father relocates the family to the wild, mysterious landscape of Wales. Peter, distressed by
the sudden changes in culture, landscape, and lifestyle, feels stuck, homesick, and is unable to change
his father s mind. When he finds a tuning key from the 6th century, he is drawn in by its magical
ability to transport him back to that time. He discovers he must go on a journey to save a legendary
bard called Taliesin. As he travels between the past and present, he begins to see connections between
the Welsh past and present occurrences and must ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wales has two official languages, Welsh and English. The name Wales is an old Saxon word meaning
foreigner or outsider. The country is often referred to as the land of the song, because Welsh people
are often known for their love of singing. The Welsh flag, emblazoned with a red dragon, is often
debated over where it originated. Many people think the symbol dates back to the flags carried by
Roman armies, while others connect it to the Arthurian times. Wales is also home to the longest place
name in the world: Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwyllllantysiliogogogoch. Many of the
Welsh people enjoy activities like visiting the pub, watching rugby, gardening, and going on outings.
Many of them are able to trace their ancestry back to some of the first settlers of the country. Wales is
one of the four countries that make up the United Kingdom. Its is a small country of about 3.063
million. Its landmass is about 20, 674 kilometers squared. Most Welsh people live in or around large
cities or the industrial valleys of southeast Wales. The northern parts are mostly moorland and
countryside, made up of rolling hills and mountains. northern and southern coasts are flat and sandy
while the western coastline is made of rocky cliffs. The land has been inhabited for about 28,000
years, largely influenced by the English and Celts, who were some of the first

Essay On Konark Sun Temple
What is the most iconic religious monument in India?
In the small city of Konark, rests one of the most unique and iconic religious monuments of India the
Konark Sun Temple. Built during the 13th century under the rule of Narasimhadeva I, this imposing
Hindu shrine is an amazing example of ancient Kalinga architecture and engineering.
Architecture and symbolism behind a giant chariot
Khondalite rock was used to erect the temple. The structural scheme pays homage to Surya the Hindu
Sun god whose figurative representation consists of a chariot pulled by seven horses. There are 12
pairs of three meter diameter wheels carved on the bottom lateral sides of the audience hall structure
(Jaga mohan), while the dance hall structure in front (Nata mandir) faces East to receive sunrise s first
rays of light. The wheels are particularly interesting: each one exhibits impressively intricate carvings
that can reveal the exact hour of the day down to the minute. These giant wheels are high precision
sundials.
Kalinga architectural style features prominent decoration, and ... Show more content on

Tort Reform Essay
Tort Reform Tort reform is very controversial issue. From the plaintiff s perspective, tort reforms
seems to take liability away from places such as insurance companies and hospitals which could at
times leave the plaintiff without defense. From the defendant s perspective, tort reform provides a
defense from extremely large punitive damage awards. There seems to be no median between the two.
Neither side will be satisfied. With the help of affiliations such as the American Tort Reform
Association and Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse, many businesses and corporations are working to
change the current tort system to stop these high cash awards. Various organizations working in favor
of tort reform include the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Association). The ATRA and CALA are trying to stop minor cases from receiving enormous sums of
money which will dampen the economy. The subject matter of these cases varies to some length
including but not limited to medical and car insurance. In a case against Rich Mountain Nursing and
Rehabilitation Center of Mena, jurors found the defendant, Mena, guilty of malpractice in the death of
Margaretha Sauer, a ninety three year old woman. The non economic punitive damages cash award for
the suffering and pain of the Sauer family to be paid by Mena was seventy eight million dollars.
Punitive damages is one of the issues that the ATRA is trying to combat. If nursing homes continue to
have pay large sums for punitive damages, they will not be able to survive. The premium average
liability offered by nursing homes has increased from $820,000 in 1999 to $11.6 million in 2001. With
the liability premiums continuing to rise, the prospects of profits continue to dwindle. They will have
no chance at retaining a profit and thus will have to close. It will also mean that doctors will charge

White Privilege Sociology
White privilege is a form of structural racism where whites are routinely advantaged while producing
adverse outcomes for people of color such as Blacks and Hispanics. White privilege is a historically
based system which still exists in the United States (US). In my view, white privilege system marked
the beginning of racial inequality in the US. White privilege exists in the United States and is one of
the contributing factors to the injustices people with color are facing in the US.
White privilege is a unique form of racism given its fascinating characteristic of not involving
hostility. Therefore, it cannot be directly blamed on someone (Pludo, 2015). The lack of blame does
not cause any discomfort on the white persons enjoying the privileges. ... Show more content on

For instance, in a scenario when an injustice occurs when a white is favored against a nonwhite who is
in a similar situation as the white person (same social class, same education or same job skills).
Neoliberalism has partly contributed to racial inequality in the US. The concept that the free market is
the best way to organize a society greatly favors the white (Pludo, 2015). However, the social
formation needs not to be considered racist.
Although efforts have been made to fight white supremacy, nonwhites continue to face injustices
based on their color. The US has made efforts towards liberal multicultural era whereby white
supremacy is obscured by certain events. The election of President Obama was a step towards liberal
multicultural era (Melamed, 2011). Obama s government made efforts to empower people with color
in the US.
Whites are less likely to encounter with the police compared to African Americans. African Americans
are twice likely to be arrested and almost four times likely to experience the use of force during police

attribute the high number of Black arrests to race. Poverty is known to be a predisposing factor for
criminal acts according to the strain theory of

The Study Of Buddhism And Hinduism
The Study of Buddhism and Hinduism
Hinduism and Buddhism are both main religions in Ancient India, both share similar beliefs, but have
many differences as well. The relationship between both religion is similar to those of Christianity and
Judaism. Buddha was born into the Hindu tradition, similar to how Jesus was born into the Jewish
faith. Both religions have goals of teaching happiness and have similar backgrounds and beliefs. Some
argue that Buddhism is just another type of Hinduism, but others argue that Buddhism became large in
India because of those trying to seek happiness in a society in a caste system. In all, Buddhism and
Hinduism are both very two religions despite their commonalities.
Hinduism is the third largest religion in the world, followed by Islam and Christianity. It has been
called the oldest religion and is referred to as the eternal way beyond human origins. Hinduism
represents the way of life and faith of the many people in India. It is unknown as to how it came about,
and where Hinduism was originated, but the beliefs of the Hindu s is very different than the beliefs of
the Christians and Islam. Hinduism is the belief in reincarnation, dharma and in three main gods.
No one knows where Hinduism came from, or who started it. It is thought that Hinduism was
originated from the Vedas. The Vedas, is the oldest written documents copied onto paper in 1000 B.C.,
but has existed long before that. Hinduism has greatly changed and developed

But in the long term the distribution channels would be clear and without interferences again. Also it
would be possible to have a clear marketing direction and therefore planning is possible again in the
future without interferences of the different distributors with each others. That would practicably mean
that Vreni should decide to get out of the contract of Asal Products, Inc. even when there would be

Another alternative should be to create a plant in Europe so now they don t have top ay all the taxes

The last alternative could be to create a better marketing about their products, to compare their brand

Finally we think that a great alternative also could be to open a new market, for example if the

Geoffrey Chaucer Research Paper
This is a story about an author with an unfinished story that survived the passage of time. I will be
discussing the life, the works, and the impact of Geoffrey Chaucer. Geoffrey Chaucer was born in
1340, London, England. He is the son of John and Agnes de Copton Chaucer. Chaucer s family were
wine merchants. Chaucer s first job was as a page for Elizabeth, the countess of Ulster. Elizabeth was
the wife of Prince Lionel, the third son of Edward III.
Chaucer was in King Edward s army during early parts of the Hundred Years War in 1359.
Unfortunately he was captured during an unsuccessful siege of Rheims. Luckily the king contributed
to his ransom. By 1366, Chaucer married Philippa Pan, who was another courtier that attended the

Chaucer is generally considered the father of English poetry, and The Canterbury Tales has been
required reading for countless students over the generations. The influence of his work on generations
of English language writers is undisputed. Some critics have worried that such wide and shallow
exposure of the reading public to Chaucer s work has diluted full appreciation for his complex
contribution to literature. Critic Derek Traversi says, The appreciation of Geoffrey Chaucer has
suffered a good deal in the past from his reputation as the Father of English poetry. It has been easy to
think of him as a naif, the possessor of a charming simplicity of outlook which tends to convey itself,
for a modern reader, through language considered picturesque or simply childish, alternately quaint or
redolent of innocence for readers who think of themselves as more sophisticated and more
psychologically complex. However, this view is not correct, Traversi argues: His early poems show
him engaged in exploring the possibilities of the English language as an instrument for sophisticated
literary creation. As poet William Blake put it, over four hundred years after the book s first
publication: Of Chaucer s characters, as described in his Canterbury Tales, some of the names are
altered by Time, but the Characters themselves for ever remain unaltered and consequently they are

Analysis Of Robert E. Lane
Eric, come right inside, a note posted on the door of Robert Lane s apartment informs me. The air
conditioning clicks on as I enter. Two large bookshelves line one wall while faded posters supporting
Howard Dean and Barack Obama are tacked up in the adjacent kitchen. Professor Lane? I ask the
empty den. No answer. I drop my backpack on a chair and walk down a hallway, past a modern
looking painting, toward the one room with the lights turned on.
Professor Lane? I ask again.
I ll be right with you, a quiet voice responds, I m just finishing up now.
Robert E. Lane is the Eugene Meyer Professor Emeritus of Political Science at the Yale University. He
arrived at Yale in 1950, where he taught full time until 1987. In 2003, Lane and his wife Helen moved

few miles from Yale s campus.
When I meet him, Lane is wearing a gray cardigan; he has thick, saucer like glasses and a hearing aid
in each ear. As he guides me back to the den, he moves with a sure footedness that belies the 96

The Characteristics Of Tropical Rainfocosystems
Tropical Rainforest If I were to travel anywhere in the world, I would choose to go somewhere
tropical. Not necessarily a beach but more like a tropical rainforest. My reasoning is that there are so
many different things that go into the functioning of a tropical rainforest, and there are still plants and
animals that haven t even been discovered yet. As this ecosystem is one of the oldest ecosystems in the
world many can believe this to be true. Although there may be some plants and animals that have not
been discovered, tropical rainforests hold the largest variety of plants and animals on Earth. Tropical
rainforests have many plants and animals in them, and in order for this ecosystem all of these
organisms need to work together to survive together. An ecosystem this large and so diverse,
organisms need to be able to adapt so they can survive. As many people know, tropical rainforests
usually have very large tall trees. This is because the foliage is in competition with each other, trying
to get the most sun light. With rainforest only covering about 6% of the Earths land, they account for
around 40% of the oxygen on Earth. Many animals have adapted as well, many monkeys have
prehensile tails that are strong enough to swing from branches and even hang on. While some
organisms compete, many others have symbiotic relationship. The acacia tree provides the Azteca ant

on a large canvas by Édouard Manet created in between 1862 and 1863. The painting represents the
contrast between a female nude with fully clothed men in a rural setting. By that time, normally

Also because the two clothed men are wearing dark clothes, the nude female obviously pops out from
the background and grabs viewers attention. I can see where the light hits in different areas, but the
nude female takes the main light source, and therefore, the landscape background smoothed out the
light. Tradition to this time era, Manet s techniques were extraordinary and brush strokes become
much less developed. Most of his brush strokes have been done in free handed. Focusing on the nude
female, her skin is not smoothed out with value of color and brush techniques. Also the background is
containing a rough brush strokes. During this time period, most of the artists are hiding brush strokes
for their technique, but Manet did the opposites. It is obvious to see each brush stroke in nude female
giving a rough complexion. In the background, also this style of rough brush strokes are made
noticeable, and this even seems unfinished. Manet was free with technique. He did not try to hide or to
follow the trends; indeed, some scenes in the painting seem unfinished. Through the composition, the
figures are positioned in central. The interesting thing is that through this composition, I can draw
myself a direct pyramid from. From the foreground nude female figure rises up to the lady in the
water. With this compositional sense, attention falls between the two men. Men seem very odd and
just stuck to be posing because compare to the women two men seems very dull

The Number Of Mobile Cellular Networks Operators Who Can...
The work has been able to verify that the number of mobile cellular network operators who can
effectively share infrastructure on a base station is limited by the following parameters:
Sensitivity degradation threshold
E field threshold or radiation limit
Allowable BTS noise floor limit
Require antenna isolation
Interference level (from spurious emission, leakages, etc.)
Tower wind loading
From the result, it was observed that six (6) GSM operators can share infrastructure for a passive
infrastructure sharing scheme without severe and unacceptable degradation of system performance.
For number of BTS operators greater than six (6), the noise floor becomes larger than 110dB, which is
not acceptable. However, as the number of users of a tower increase, the wind loading and tower
bending moment increases. Therefore, when designing towers, wind loading analysis for collocation
scenario should be carried out.
Among the parameters, the level of sensitivity degradation should be monitored closely, since its value
aid in determining system performance for a specific interference level and BTS noise floor, which
depends on the number of collocating operators. When the sensitivity degradation is greater than 3dB
it indicates that the interference threshold is larger than the noise floor limit, which is temperature and
bandwidth dependent.
It was also observed that the higher the antenna gain, the longer the antenna separating distance.
The coverage radius is affected by

Staging Photojournalism In Believing Is Seeing
Staging Photojournalism Mostly the reason for staging a journalism photo is to get an idea across to
the person viewing it. The main reason for photojournalism is be able to capture a picture that can tell
the audience a story, and photographers have to figure out how to make their photos more interesting
to the viewer´s eye. Some may argue that the staging of the photo can change the meaning of it, which
is true. However, this depends on how a photographer decides to stages a photo. There are two ways
of staging that I see most often; moving an object that was already supposed to be in the photo around,
and adding or removing that object from the photo. Moving objects around to stage photojournalism
does not change the meaning of the photo as well as adding or removing the object. The meaning of
the photo means what the viewer sees and makes out of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The photographer, Ben Curtis, in chapter five of, Believing Is Seeing , makes it clear that he did not
create that scene himself, but rather he stumbled upon the Mickey Mouse toy lying on the ground and
decided to take photos of it (Morris p. 190). However, in a way, Curtis was staging the photo because
he had decided to snap a photo of not just the Mouse toy by itself, but also with the destruction of the
buildings in the background. During class, it was brought to our attention that the photo s meaning
would have been different if the Mickey Mouse had not been included in the photo. The Mouse brings
a sense of humanity to the photo. It gets the viewer to realize that there are humans in that area,
something that wouldn t have been accomplished if the Mouse would have been left out. The staging
technique that Curtis used to take the photo was the adding or removing the object technique. He
decided to have the toy take a part in his photography, and therefore giving the photo a bigger

The Effect Of Monetary Policy On Determination Of Coal Prices
To examine the effect of monetary policy on determination of coal prices in the U.S., we rely on a
dynamic framework of cointegrated vector autoregression (CVAR). The prerequisite requirement for
the application of the CVAR approach is that the selected variables must be nonstationary (i.e., I(1)
series). The presence of a unit root in the variables is thus tested using the Dickey Fuller generalized
least squares (DF GLS) test (Elliott et al., 1996). Panel A of Table 1 reports the results of the DF GLS
test. Since the null hypothesis of a unit root cannot (can) be rejected for any of the levels (first
differences) of the three variables at the 5% level, all the series are found to be nonstationary I(1)
processes.
It should be emphasized, however, that because of inability of the DF GLS to capture the possibility of
a structural break, the power of the test is likely to decrease with an undetected structural break in the
series, thereby providing misleading results. For completeness, therefore, we investigate unit roots in
the presence of a structural break using the Perron Vogelsang (PV) test. The results of the PV test are
summarized in Panel B of Table 1. As seen in the DF GLS test, the null cannot (can) be rejected for all
the levels (first differences) of the variables, confirming that all the three variables are I(1) series.
Hence, it is certain that the underlying series are apparently all I(1) processes even after taking into
account a structural break in the series,

reasonably good shape. Nonetheless, lots of work remains to be done . As the saying goes, there is
always room for improvement. The article, Archaeology, Ethics, and Character is written by several
authors who go into detail about using archaeology to teach ethics, character, and citizenship. The goal

Manslaughter And Involuntary Manslaughter
dangerous resulting in a death of another human being. Manslaughter is the opposite of murder,
manslaughter can also be described in two different ways, being either voluntary or involuntary.
Voluntary manslaughter is when the act of murder is committed in either the heat of the passion or in
the defense of yourself or others (Benish). Meaning if somebody broke into a house and had a gun,
then the owner of the home could shoot the man, because he or she is defending themselves in the
situation. Involuntary manslaughter is when a killing is unintentional resulting from an unlawful
misdemeanor act or a low level felony (Benish), such as a drunk driver wrecking a car, killing the
passengers in the vehicle. Both these class A felonies result in death of another human being, therefore
being the reason why the sentence is automatically 25 years to life. Rape also falls in the category of
class A, considering it can lead to murder or manslaughter and is considered a severe felony. Rape is a
type of sexual assault, either in the form of sexual intercourse or other forms of sexual penetration
carried out against a person without the persons consent (Rape). Some people may argue that rape
should fall more into the class B category, mainly because it is not as severe as murder or
manslaughter because it is not resulting in a dead human being. In the United States there is reported
rape every 6.2 minutes , adding up to tens of millions of rape victims (Solnit). How many of

Essay On School Shootings
There have been many horror stories in the news about mass shootings at schools. The public, and
even the president of the United States, is asking if anything can be done to prevent these tragedies.
There are many theories on why students kill their peers at schools; these range from increased
violence in video games and movies to bullying troubles at school. Almost always, the perpetrator
suffers from some form of mental illness (Khadaroo). Because of this, motives for these crimes are
extremely difficult to discern. Although the theories for the causes of this dilemma are tenuous at best,
the effects are very perceptible. Can anything be done to prevent these massacres? School shootings
are a complex problem that cannot always ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By investigating possible causes, schools can establish policies and programs to help prevent school
massacres.
Whereas the causes of school violence are mostly theoretical, the effects of mass school shootings are
stark and terrible. In the past twenty years there have been many incidents, both small and large scale,
of shooting in schools. Two of the most well known of these are the Columbine shooting in 1999 and
the Sandy Hook shooting in 2012. Twenty six people were killed in the Sandy Hook shooting and
thirteen in the Columbine shooting ( School Safety Timeline. ). One boy described his experience at
the Sandy Hook shooting as, I saw some of the bullets going past the hall that I was right next to, and
then a teacher pulled me into her classroom ( What Happened in Newtown ). It is hard to imagine the
terror and life long effects that such an incident would cause among children. These stories cause a
fear in many students that makes it difficult to create an environment for learning. It is obvious that
something must be done to protect children of all ages in public school.
The first possible solution is to pass stringent gun control laws in order to remove the weapon from a
perpetrator s hand. This seems to be a very logical solution, but, when investigated more closely, it is
not. Although few people are lobbying for complete gun prohibition, many want

the 16th centuries, William Shakespeare must be the undeniable greatest writer of his time. Even
though centuries passed, people never forgot his unique language and those vivid characters he
created. But as more advanced technique and new knowledge access our daily life and studies
nowadays, some might think the remain place for Shakespeare that has been kept for hundreds of
years seems to be unnecessary. However, the modern recomposed works of Shakespeare has proved
that his place in the modern society can still sustain steady for a long period of time.
Looking back at the 16th centuries, Shakespeare was one of the most important representative of
literature and drama during the time of the Renaissance. All of his personal thoughts and the figures he
created cannot leave the major historical themes of the Renaissance, which is the progress of
humanism, secularism and individualism. The society in the plays were based on the life and
community during this period of time. Identically, the character s personality and their attitude of
matters were the reflection of life during the Renaissance, and so does Shakespeare. Their clothings,
their status, identity and the way people communicate...... As it incarnates, the historical value of
studying the backgrounds of Shakespeare s

Islam Is A Religion Of Islam Essay
Islam is one of the oldest religions in the world, and with that has one of the biggest populations of
followers and worshipers. However, it is also a very misunderstood religion. Muslims are extremely
religious people, and they strictly follow the Qur an, however in the past there have been incidences,
in which Arabs have done harm. These acts of few had a negative impact on the lives of many. After
these events terroristic events took place, non Muslims began to fear all Arabs and target them as
terrorists because of the false belief that all Arabs are Muslim, and Islam is a warlike religion. Being
afraid of the religion and its followers, Westerners became afraid of all Arabs and others from the
Middle East, targeting and stereotyping them as terrorists because of how they look. Being afraid of
these people and their religion, the Western countries termed all Middle Eastern countries and the
religion of Islam as terroristic and violent, reasoning that Islam promotes violence and killing. Further,
when events of women being burned with acid by men in some Middle Eastern countries for refusing
marriage, wanting to get educated or not wearing a hijab properly, people of western countries began
speculations that women are oppressed, mistreated, and forced to wear hijabs and burqas. The people
who are not familiar with Islam, and do not know anything about the religion, knowing about these
events, and being influenced by media, put the blame for these events on the religion,

Remittance Flow Of Bangladesh And Bangladesh
Abstract In Bangladesh, remittance is one of the most important economic variables in recent times as
it helps in balancing balance of payments, increasing foreign exchange reserves, enhancing national
savings and increasing velocity of money. Moreover, it is greater than foreign aid and thus helps in
lessening dependence on foreign aid. Remittance gets momentum in recent time in Bangladesh and is
the second largest sector of foreign exchange earnings after the garments sector. If cost of imported
raw materials is deducted from the foreign exchange earning of the garments sector, remittance
becomes the single largest sector of foreign exchange earnings. Remittance earning is increasing day
by day but at a lower rate than the increase in emigration from Bangladesh due to the increasing share
of unskilled or semi skilled labors than the professionals in international migration. The share of
remittance in GNI (Gross National Income) is increasing day by day. It affects almost all the macro
economic indicators of a country positively. Though there are also negative sides of remittance
earning e.g. brain drain, its overall contribution to Bangladesh economy is very much effective.
Appropriate and timely government policies and initiatives can boost up the amount of remittance and
can rectify the problems related to it. Remittance has created a new dimension in the economic
development of Bangladesh. We have to properly unlock the potentialities of remittances and utilize it

project. After each of these objectives have been tackled and overcome, I would utilize incremental
commitment to review what has just been accomplished, what is left to be accomplished and whether
or not the project team is meeting its goals and if those goals are still in line with the companies goals.
6. If you were assigned to Jim s team for this project, when in the project schedule (in what phase of

that it lacked branding . Similarly, the advertisement to promote Levi s low rise jeans which was

chocolate agar plates incubated at 35 °C for up to 45 days. DNA was extracted from bacterial colonies,
blood, and pools of ectoparasites, and initially screened by real time PCR assays targeting rpoB and
the 16S 23S ITS. Conventional PCR amplifying gene regions from gltA and rpoB was also performed
on all diagnostic samples. All bat fly species were identified as Cylcopodia greefii and the 148
captured bats were comprised of five species: straw colored fruit bats (Eidolon helvum), epauletted
fruit bats (Epomophorus spp.), dwarf epauletted fruit bats (Micropteropus spp.), horseshoe bats
(Rhinolophus spp.), and Nigerian free tailed bats (Chaerephon nigeriae) (Table 2). When using qPCR
on bat blood samples, 76 (51.4%) positively amplified ITS and 28 (18.9%) amplified rpoB. Of the
conventional PCR assays, however, only 14 (9.5%) were positive for gltA and none for rpoB.
Bartonella DNA was detected in 10 (41.7%) and seven (29.2%) of the tested ectoparasites when
targeting the 16S 23S ITS and rpoB, respectively. With conventional PCR, both the gltA and rpoB

Advantages Of Dispensationalism
1. Dispensationalism A Legitimate Theological System
Dispensationalism is a word that most theologians would sneer at because it is seen as a perversion of
the Scriptures. These theologians would not recognize the history of dispensationalism purely because
it would be seen as a relatively new system of interpreting Scripture. Dispensational theology receives
a lot of criticism because it is not properly understood.
Dispensationalism is mainly conservative in biblical interpretation and while there seems to be a
negative connotation to the word Evangelical ; those who subscribe to a dispensational view point are
evangelical Christians in a sense.

The Holocaust And The Treatments Of The Holocaust
Imagine being in a place with horror, abandonment, torture, suffering, famine, and misery; in a place
of death, abuse, a hopeless state of mind; dying is better than going through something like this. This
is the exact portrayal of what the victims of the Holocaust have gone through. The Holocaust was the
mass slaughter of (mostly) Jews prior to World War II. They put them into concentration camps and
more than six million Jews were killed. The Nazi Party were heartless, immoral, and inhumane people
who treated the Jews like animals. They thought that the Jews were the reason for the failing economy
of Germany. The Nazi party believed they were doing the right thing to annihilate the race of Jews, but
no one ever has an excuse to torture people who have done nothing wrong; Jews were experimented
on, enslaved, brutalized, and killed; no one should ever go through something like the Jews have
during the Holocaust.
The Nazis performed sadistic experiments on victims during the holocaust without their consent for
the Nazi party advantages. Some victims were froze and heated to death with hypothermia and
sunlamp experiments. Two main ways they used to freeze the victim were to put the person in a icy
vat of water or to put the victim outside naked in sub zero temperatures. (Medical Experiments of the
Holocaust and Nazi Medicine, n.d.) To heat victims, they would put them under sunlamps and waited
until their skin was burned. One victim was repeatedly cooled to unconsciousness

From the turmoils of establishing a stable political and religious identity in all of Europe, and England

. At the expense of the English colonies, the employment of mercantilist policies permitted the British
Empire to prosper in wealth and power.
Although religion wasn t a major incentive in the formation of the Restoration colonies as it was in the
New England colonies, it still played a major role in the types of people that migrated to there.
Maryland, founded by Lord Baltimore, served as a refuge for Catholics. Nonetheless, Catholics
eventually lost control due the influx of other religious groups. Pennsylvania, in the other hand, served
as a refuge for the Quakers, who sought out the New World to avoid further persecution for their
beliefs in England. Their beliefs were extremely unconventional in regards to the dogmas of the time.
For instance, they believed God speaks to one and all through inner light including women, equality
for all, challenge the idea of hierarchy, were against slavery, were pacifist, and were very tolerant and
liberal minded. The implementation of mercantilist policies as a result of the Restoration, promoted
self sustained economy in the colonies. As a result, rice, cotton, and indigo harvesting

Healthy Eating Unhealthy Ogden
HEALTHY EATING
INTRODUCTION
Ogden (2017) has defined health behavior as any behavior that has a positive or negative impact on
that individual s health status. For example, healthy eating, physical activity, safe sex, and wearing
seat belts are behaviors that would positively impact a person s health, while the opposite behaviors,
unhealthy eating, sedentary lifestyle, unsafe sex and desisting from wearing seat belts, can negatively
impact the health of an individual. This written assignment will discuss healthy eating habits that my
family has vigilantly engaged in for the last several years and the beliefs that have motivated us to
adapt this behavior. Before we got engaged in this behavior, we had no idea that an individual s health
outcome is largely determined by what they eat and how they eat it. Constantly seeking information
about diet and healthy eating in general, we gradually changed our behavior concerning our eating
habits. We strongly believed that we could take control of our health status by deliberately choosing
what to and what not to eat.
DISCUSSION
French and British Psychological Society (2010) have stated that health behavior may be categorized
into two: risk increasing behaviors and health promoting behaviors. To live a healthy lifestyle, we
resolved to avoid the former and adapt the latter, and the behavior that we felt was crucial to pay
attention to was healthy eating. French British Psychological Society have emphasized that the

Essay on Power of Nuclear Energy
Abstract
The use of nuclear energy is a big topic for debate. Many countries have fully embraced it while
others, such as the U. S., haven t. Nuclear energy is feared for its danger and scorned because of its
wastes. On the other hand, nuclear energy does have some pros like cheaper cost of energy and
environmentally safe. Reactor breeders show great promise in nuclear waste, but are it enough to
convince the nation?
Introduction
Nuclear knowledge has existed for a long time. Nuclear Engineering U.S. Department of Energy
relates, ―By 1900, the physicists knew the atom contains large quantities of energy‖ (par 11). Many
others formed good theories, such as Ernest Rutherford and Einstein s contribution with his equation

Nuclear Engineering U.S. Department of Energy explains that, ― It [self sustaining chain] would
happen if enough uranium could be brought together under proper conditions‖ (par 19).
The result of all this talk was that in 1942 Fermi gathered scientists at the University of Chicago to
discuss their theories and possibly create a self sustaining chain reaction. By November of that year
they had constructed plans and were prepared to build this new model known as Chicago Pile 1.
Nuclear Engineering U.S. Department of Energy describes the model as, ―In addition to uranium and
graphite, it contained control rods made of cadmium. Cadmium is a metallic element that absorbs
neutrons. When the rods were in the pile, there were fewer neutrons to fission uranium atoms. This
slowed the chain reaction. When the rods were pulled out, more neutrons were available to split
atoms. The chain reaction sped up‖(par 21). In December of 1942 the scientists were ready to
demonstrate their hard work. This was a huge break through in the nuclear world.
Most of the early research done on nuclear energy consisted of trying to make nuclear weapons. The
experiments were performed in New Mexico under the name of the Manhattan Project. Their efforts
were a success with the creation of the first atom bomb. After World War II though, the use of nuclear
energy was turned more peaceful uses. In 1946 Congress created the Atomic Energy

A Critique
REGGIO EMILIAAPPROACH A EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY I fully support the Reggio Emilia
Approach model which was found by Loris Malaguzzi. This model became associated with
mainstream educational practices in 1945 when the first parent run preschool of the common people
opened in Reggio Emilia, Italy. The Reggio Emilia Approach is an educational philosophy focused on
preschool and primary education. The destruction from the war, parents believed, necessitated a new,
quick approach to teaching their children. I enjoy the fact that this is a child centered educational
program that features working with art. In the Reggio Emilia School, children are viewed as powerful
and capable. Children are validated as unique individuals ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Much of what occurs in the class reflects a constructivist approach to early education. Reggio Emilia s
approach does challenge some conceptions of teacher competence and developmentally appropriate
practice. Teachers in Reggio Emilia assert the importance of being confused as a contributor to
learning; thus a major teaching strategy is purposely to allow mistakes to happen, or to begin a project
with no clear sense of where it might end. Another characteristic that is counter to the beliefs of many
Western educators is the importance of the child s ability to negotiate in the peer group. I think that
one of the most challenging aspects of the Reggio Emilia approach is the solicitation of multiple
points of view regarding children s needs, interests, and abilities, and the mutual faith in parents,
teachers, and children to contribute in meaningful ways to the determination of school

Migrant Workers and Xenophobia
In addition, the continued increase of the migrant workers in Singapore might lead to xenophobia in
the country. According to Khan, Rola and Ruxandra migrant workers continue to suffer economic
prejudice because government employment policies operate in favor of national workers (1). In
Singapore, migrant workers make up a larger percentage of the population thereby leading to
competition over employment with the natives. As such, the possibility of xenophobia prevailing in
Singapore is high. This is because competition between natives and foreigners over meager economic
resources has always led to xenophobia in many other countries. For example, xenophobia has been a
problem in South Africa because the residents accuse African immigrants from the horn of Africa for
stealing their jobs (Slier, para. 3). The xenophobia problems come from unemployed South Africans.
Nonetheless, most of the immigrants struggle to earn a living in the same way the natives do but the
natives view them as competitors. For instance, most successful immigrant groups are Somalis. The
reason for the success of the Somalis is their entrepreneurial skills as well as their strong intra ethnic
ties that resemble those of the Indians. Each slum has an isolated Somali neighborhood where most
Somali refugees live and work (Abdi, para. 7). Nonetheless, most Somali refugees and immigrants
face insecurity from the local vigilante groups and gangs because they view them as aliens. However,

The Laws Of Same Sex Marriage
Advice to a U.S. State Senator on whether natural law might determine whether passing a statute
prohibiting same sex marriage is an appropriate legislative act? State marriage laws are generally
defined as the union between one man and one woman. However, a law is in the process of being
passed in an effort to banned same sex marriage. The senate must examine this law with the general
appropriateness of the law and with strict scrutiny. The question is whether passing a natural law
statute prohibiting same sex marriage would be an appropriate legislative act? I will advise the senator
based on Blackstone s law of nature and its relevance to God. King s how just and unjust laws affect
society and finally Aquinas how unjust law should be rooted in eternal law. As stated by William
Blackstone, man is considered to be a creature that must necessarily be subject to the laws of his
creator, for he is entirely a dependent being. [A]s man depends absolutely upon his maker for
everything, it is necessary that he should in all points conform to his maker s will (Brauch). In other
words, God s creation should be directed by the will of God our creator. Blackstone suggests that the
law of nature relevant to God has full reliance on God. For as God, when he created matter, and
endued it with a principle of mobility, established certain rules for the perpetual direction of that
motion; so when he created man and endued him freewill to conduct himself in all parts of life, he laid

We now realize that, sure, the whole death camp thing was not the way to go, but Hitler was an
extremist. He really believed that these people were causing major problems, and he convinced many
younger people of Germany so that they would have an impact on the next generation. Even though
all of this was sickening, his other strategies really helped the economy that was having major
problems during this time period. Hitler wanted a New Germany he wanted to focus on making a new
Germany a place where there are no mistakes, and everyone was perfect, and remember his form of
perfect was white, blonde with blue eyes, Christian and straight. He didn t accept anyone else. He didn
t want people like gypsies and homosexuals, he also felt like the Jews were the reason for Germanys
defeat in WWI so he needed to do something about them too. Hitler s extremist beliefs resulted in all
of these horrible things we still mourn about today. He loved his country like a nationalist but went to
extremes to save it. The devotion he put in his country helped when it came to economic possibilities.
Hitler had used his appearance in the courtroom to send a message to the General Staff that there
would be no attempt to replace the regular Army with an army of storm troopers and that once in
power, the Nazis would raise the German Army to new heights of greatness. This was exactly what the

or drink certain drinks, I get breathless and go blotchy all over my body, but I continue to drink until I
am so exhausted I fall asleep.... I am not sure that I am strong enough to quit my stupidity (What is
Binge). Binge Drinking does not make anyone cool, it makes them repulsive and mortifying. Drinking
excessive amounts of alcohol until passing out is not a smart idea because they can die from alcohol
poisoning. Alcohol overdose causes even more severe depressant effects, inability to feel pain, toxicity
where the body vomits the poison, and finally unconsciousness or, worse, coma or death from severe
toxic overdose (What is). The solution to binge drinking would be is do not do it. It is not safe and
very dangerous. The smart idea about drinking would be counting the drinks that have been
consumed, drinking water constantly so that they do not dehydrate and making the right decision of
not driving. Others tend to make the decision to drive and things do not end up so

  • 2. A String In The Harp Analysis Welsh History, Geography, and Culture A String in the Harp, by Nancy Bond, is a fantasy about an American family overcoming the devastating loss of their mother. To help cope with the pain, the children s father relocates the family to the wild, mysterious landscape of Wales. Peter, distressed by the sudden changes in culture, landscape, and lifestyle, feels stuck, homesick, and is unable to change his father s mind. When he finds a tuning key from the 6th century, he is drawn in by its magical ability to transport him back to that time. He discovers he must go on a journey to save a legendary bard called Taliesin. As he travels between the past and present, he begins to see connections between the Welsh past and present occurrences and must ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Wales has two official languages, Welsh and English. The name Wales is an old Saxon word meaning foreigner or outsider. The country is often referred to as the land of the song, because Welsh people are often known for their love of singing. The Welsh flag, emblazoned with a red dragon, is often debated over where it originated. Many people think the symbol dates back to the flags carried by Roman armies, while others connect it to the Arthurian times. Wales is also home to the longest place name in the world: Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwyllllantysiliogogogoch. Many of the Welsh people enjoy activities like visiting the pub, watching rugby, gardening, and going on outings. Many of them are able to trace their ancestry back to some of the first settlers of the country. Wales is one of the four countries that make up the United Kingdom. Its is a small country of about 3.063 million. Its landmass is about 20, 674 kilometers squared. Most Welsh people live in or around large cities or the industrial valleys of southeast Wales. • 4. Essay On Konark Sun Temple What is the most iconic religious monument in India? In the small city of Konark, rests one of the most unique and iconic religious monuments of India the Konark Sun Temple. Built during the 13th century under the rule of Narasimhadeva I, this imposing Hindu shrine is an amazing example of ancient Kalinga architecture and engineering. Architecture and symbolism behind a giant chariot Khondalite rock was used to erect the temple. The structural scheme pays homage to Surya the Hindu Sun god whose figurative representation consists of a chariot pulled by seven horses. There are 12 pairs of three meter diameter wheels carved on the bottom lateral sides of the audience hall structure (Jaga mohan), while the dance hall structure in front (Nata mandir) faces East to receive sunrise s first rays of light. The wheels are particularly interesting: each one exhibits impressively intricate carvings that can reveal the exact hour of the day down to the minute. From the plaintiff s perspective, tort reforms seems to take liability away from places such as insurance companies and hospitals which could at times leave the plaintiff without defense. From the defendant s perspective, tort reform provides a defense from extremely large punitive damage awards. There seems to be no median between the two. Neither side will be satisfied. With the help of affiliations such as the American Tort Reform Association and Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse, many businesses and corporations are working to change the current tort system to stop these high cash awards. It consists of people living in communities joining together to try to stop the high cost and injustice in our legal system (American Tort Reform Association). Located throughout the United States, the CALA is fighting to eliminate the high payouts for circumstantial cases (American Tort Reform Association). The ATRA and CALA are trying to stop minor cases from receiving enormous sums of money which will dampen the economy. The subject matter of these cases varies to some length including but not limited to medical and car insurance. In a case against Rich Mountain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Mena, jurors found the defendant, Mena, guilty of malpractice in the death of Margaretha Sauer, a ninety three year old woman. The non economic punitive damages cash award for the suffering and pain of the Sauer family to be paid by Mena was seventy eight million dollars. Punitive damages is one of the issues that the ATRA is trying to combat. If nursing homes continue to have pay large sums for punitive damages, they will not be able to survive. The premium average liability offered by nursing homes has increased from $820,000 in 1999 to $11.6 million in 2001. With the liability premiums continuing to rise, the prospects of profits continue to dwindle. They will have no chance at retaining a profit and thus will have to close. • 6. White Privilege Sociology White privilege is a form of structural racism where whites are routinely advantaged while producing adverse outcomes for people of color such as Blacks and Hispanics. White privilege is a historically based system which still exists in the United States (US). In my view, white privilege system marked the beginning of racial inequality in the US. White privilege exists in the United States and is one of the contributing factors to the injustices people with color are facing in the US. White privilege is a unique form of racism given its fascinating characteristic of not involving hostility. Therefore, it cannot be directly blamed on someone (Pludo, 2015). The lack of blame does not cause any discomfort on the white persons enjoying the privileges. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For instance, in a scenario when an injustice occurs when a white is favored against a nonwhite who is in a similar situation as the white person (same social class, same education or same job skills). Neoliberalism has partly contributed to racial inequality in the US. The concept that the free market is the best way to organize a society greatly favors the white (Pludo, 2015). However, the social formation needs not to be considered racist. Although efforts have been made to fight white supremacy, nonwhites continue to face injustices based on their color. The US has made efforts towards liberal multicultural era whereby white supremacy is obscured by certain events. The election of President Obama was a step towards liberal multicultural era (Melamed, 2011). Obama s government made efforts to empower people with color in the US. Whites are less likely to encounter with the police compared to African Americans. African Americans are twice likely to be arrested and almost four times likely to experience the use of force during police encounters (Costly, 2011). As stated earlier, other sociological factors need to be eliminated to attribute the high number of Black arrests to race. • 7. The Study Of Buddhism And Hinduism The Study of Buddhism and Hinduism Hinduism and Buddhism are both main religions in Ancient India, both share similar beliefs, but have many differences as well. The relationship between both religion is similar to those of Christianity and Judaism. Buddha was born into the Hindu tradition, similar to how Jesus was born into the Jewish faith. Both religions have goals of teaching happiness and have similar backgrounds and beliefs. Some argue that Buddhism is just another type of Hinduism, but others argue that Buddhism became large in India because of those trying to seek happiness in a society in a caste system. In all, Buddhism and Hinduism are both very two religions despite their commonalities. Hinduism is the third largest religion in the world, followed by Islam and Christianity. It has been called the oldest religion and is referred to as the eternal way beyond human origins. Hinduism represents the way of life and faith of the many people in India. It is unknown as to how it came about, and where Hinduism was originated, but the beliefs of the Hindu s is very different than the beliefs of the Christians and Islam. Hinduism is the belief in reincarnation, dharma and in three main gods. No one knows where Hinduism came from, or who started it. It is thought that Hinduism was originated from the Vedas. Some critics have worried that such wide and shallow exposure of the reading public to Chaucer s work has diluted full appreciation for his complex contribution to literature. Critic Derek Traversi says, The appreciation of Geoffrey Chaucer has suffered a good deal in the past from his reputation as the Father of English poetry. It has been easy to think of him as a naif, the possessor of a charming simplicity of outlook which tends to convey itself, for a modern reader, through language considered picturesque or simply childish, alternately quaint or redolent of innocence for readers who think of themselves as more sophisticated and more psychologically complex. However, this view is not correct, Traversi argues: His early poems show him engaged in exploring the possibilities of the English language as an instrument for sophisticated literary creation. As poet William Blake put it, over four hundred years after the book s first publication: Of Chaucer s characters, as described in his Canterbury Tales, some of the names are altered by Time, but the Characters themselves for ever remain unaltered and consequently they are the Physiognomies or lineaments of ... • 10. Analysis Of Robert E. Lane Eric, come right inside, a note posted on the door of Robert Lane s apartment informs me. The air conditioning clicks on as I enter. Two large bookshelves line one wall while faded posters supporting Howard Dean and Barack Obama are tacked up in the adjacent kitchen. Professor Lane? I ask the empty den. No answer. I drop my backpack on a chair and walk down a hallway, past a modern looking painting, toward the one room with the lights turned on. Professor Lane? I ask again. I ll be right with you, a quiet voice responds, I m just finishing up now. Robert E. Lane is the Eugene Meyer Professor Emeritus of Political Science at the Yale University. He arrived at Yale in 1950, where he taught full time until 1987. In 2003, Lane and his wife Helen moved into an apartment in the Whitney Center, a continuing care retirement community in Hamden, just a few miles from Yale s campus. • 12. The Characteristics Of Tropical Rainfocosystems Tropical Rainforest If I were to travel anywhere in the world, I would choose to go somewhere tropical. Not necessarily a beach but more like a tropical rainforest. My reasoning is that there are so many different things that go into the functioning of a tropical rainforest, and there are still plants and animals that haven t even been discovered yet. As this ecosystem is one of the oldest ecosystems in the world many can believe this to be true. Although there may be some plants and animals that have not been discovered, tropical rainforests hold the largest variety of plants and animals on Earth. Tropical rainforests have many plants and animals in them, and in order for this ecosystem all of these organisms need to work together to survive together. An ecosystem this large and so diverse, organisms need to be able to adapt so they can survive. As many people know, tropical rainforests usually have very large tall trees. This is because the foliage is in competition with each other, trying to get the most sun light. With rainforest only covering about 6% of the Earths land, they account for around 40% of the oxygen on Earth. Many animals have adapted as well, many monkeys have prehensile tails that are strong enough to swing from branches and even hang on. While some organisms compete, many others have symbiotic relationship. The acacia tree provides the Azteca ant with shelter, water, and even food while the ant protects the acacia tree from other ... It is painted with oil on a large canvas by Édouard Manet created in between 1862 and 1863. The painting represents the contrast between a female nude with fully clothed men in a rural setting. By that time, normally woman in paintings didn t look at viewers straight, especially with nudes. Traditionally, nude models mostly looked away from the view. I can see where the light hits in different areas, but the nude female takes the main light source, and therefore, the landscape background smoothed out the light. Tradition to this time era, Manet s techniques were extraordinary and brush strokes become much less developed. Most of his brush strokes have been done in free handed. Focusing on the nude female, her skin is not smoothed out with value of color and brush techniques. Also the background is containing a rough brush strokes. During this time period, most of the artists are hiding brush strokes for their technique, but Manet did the opposites. It is obvious to see each brush stroke in nude female giving a rough complexion. In the background, also this style of rough brush strokes are made noticeable, and this even seems unfinished. Manet was free with technique. He did not try to hide or to follow the trends; indeed, some scenes in the painting seem unfinished. Through the composition, the figures are positioned in central. • 14. The Number Of Mobile Cellular Networks Operators Who Can... The work has been able to verify that the number of mobile cellular network operators who can effectively share infrastructure on a base station is limited by the following parameters: Sensitivity degradation threshold E field threshold or radiation limit Allowable BTS noise floor limit Require antenna isolation Interference level (from spurious emission, leakages, etc.) Tower wind loading From the result, it was observed that six (6) GSM operators can share infrastructure for a passive infrastructure sharing scheme without severe and unacceptable degradation of system performance. For number of BTS operators greater than six (6), the noise floor becomes larger than 110dB, which is not acceptable. However, as the number of users of a tower increase, the wind loading and tower bending moment increases. Therefore, when designing towers, wind loading analysis for collocation scenario should be carried out. Among the parameters, the level of sensitivity degradation should be monitored closely, since its value aid in determining system performance for a specific interference level and BTS noise floor, which depends on the number of collocating operators. When the sensitivity degradation is greater than 3dB it indicates that the interference threshold is larger than the noise floor limit, which is temperature and bandwidth dependent. It was also observed that the higher the antenna gain, the longer the antenna separating distance. The coverage radius is affected by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The main reason for photojournalism is be able to capture a picture that can tell the audience a story, and photographers have to figure out how to make their photos more interesting to the viewer´s eye. Some may argue that the staging of the photo can change the meaning of it, which is true. However, this depends on how a photographer decides to stages a photo. There are two ways of staging that I see most often; moving an object that was already supposed to be in the photo around, and adding or removing that object from the photo. Moving objects around to stage photojournalism does not change the meaning of the photo as well as adding or removing the object. However, in a way, Curtis was staging the photo because he had decided to snap a photo of not just the Mouse toy by itself, but also with the destruction of the buildings in the background. During class, it was brought to our attention that the photo s meaning would have been different if the Mickey Mouse had not been included in the photo. The Mouse brings a sense of humanity to the photo. It gets the viewer to realize that there are humans in that area, something that wouldn t have been accomplished if the Mouse would have been left out. • 16. The Effect Of Monetary Policy On Determination Of Coal Prices To examine the effect of monetary policy on determination of coal prices in the U.S., we rely on a dynamic framework of cointegrated vector autoregression (CVAR). The prerequisite requirement for the application of the CVAR approach is that the selected variables must be nonstationary (i.e., I(1) series). The presence of a unit root in the variables is thus tested using the Dickey Fuller generalized least squares (DF GLS) test (Elliott et al., 1996). Panel A of Table 1 reports the results of the DF GLS test. Since the null hypothesis of a unit root cannot (can) be rejected for any of the levels (first differences) of the three variables at the 5% level, all the series are found to be nonstationary I(1) processes. It should be emphasized, however, that because of inability of the DF GLS to capture the possibility of a structural break, the power of the test is likely to decrease with an undetected structural break in the series, thereby providing misleading results. For completeness, therefore, we investigate unit roots in the presence of a structural break using the Perron Vogelsang (PV) test. The results of the PV test are summarized in Panel B of Table 1. As seen in the DF GLS test, the null cannot (can) be rejected for all the levels (first differences) of the variables, confirming that all the three variables are I(1) series. Hence, it is certain that the underlying series are apparently all I(1) processes even after taking into account a structural break in the series, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 18. Manslaughter And Involuntary Manslaughter dangerous resulting in a death of another human being. Manslaughter is the opposite of murder, manslaughter can also be described in two different ways, being either voluntary or involuntary. Voluntary manslaughter is when the act of murder is committed in either the heat of the passion or in the defense of yourself or others (Benish). Meaning if somebody broke into a house and had a gun, then the owner of the home could shoot the man, because he or she is defending themselves in the situation. Involuntary manslaughter is when a killing is unintentional resulting from an unlawful misdemeanor act or a low level felony (Benish), such as a drunk driver wrecking a car, killing the passengers in the vehicle. Both these class A felonies result in death of another human being, therefore being the reason why the sentence is automatically 25 years to life. Rape also falls in the category of class A, considering it can lead to murder or manslaughter and is considered a severe felony. Rape is a type of sexual assault, either in the form of sexual intercourse or other forms of sexual penetration carried out against a person without the persons consent (Rape). Some people may argue that rape should fall more into the class B category, mainly because it is not as severe as murder or manslaughter because it is not resulting in a dead human being. Almost always, the perpetrator suffers from some form of mental illness (Khadaroo). Because of this, motives for these crimes are extremely difficult to discern. Whereas the causes of school violence are mostly theoretical, the effects of mass school shootings are stark and terrible. In the past twenty years there have been many incidents, both small and large scale, of shooting in schools. Two of the most well known of these are the Columbine shooting in 1999 and the Sandy Hook shooting in 2012. Twenty six people were killed in the Sandy Hook shooting and thirteen in the Columbine shooting ( School Safety Timeline. ). One boy described his experience at the Sandy Hook shooting as, I saw some of the bullets going past the hall that I was right next to, and then a teacher pulled me into her classroom ( What Happened in Newtown ). It is hard to imagine the terror and life long effects that such an incident would cause among children. These stories cause a fear in many students that makes it difficult to create an environment for learning. It is obvious that something must be done to protect children of all ages in public school. The first possible solution is to pass stringent gun control laws in order to remove the weapon from a perpetrator s hand. Remittance Flow Of Bangladesh And Bangladesh Abstract In Bangladesh, remittance is one of the most important economic variables in recent times as it helps in balancing balance of payments, increasing foreign exchange reserves, enhancing national savings and increasing velocity of money. Moreover, it is greater than foreign aid and thus helps in lessening dependence on foreign aid. Remittance gets momentum in recent time in Bangladesh and is the second largest sector of foreign exchange earnings after the garments sector. If cost of imported raw materials is deducted from the foreign exchange earning of the garments sector, remittance becomes the single largest sector of foreign exchange earnings. The share of remittance in GNI (Gross National Income) is increasing day by day. It affects almost all the macro economic indicators of a country positively. Maryland, founded by Lord Baltimore, served as a refuge for Catholics. Nonetheless, Catholics eventually lost control due the influx of other religious groups. Pennsylvania, in the other hand, served as a refuge for the Quakers, who sought out the New World to avoid further persecution for their beliefs in England. Their beliefs were extremely unconventional in regards to the dogmas of the time. For instance, they believed God speaks to one and all through inner light including women, equality for all, challenge the idea of hierarchy, were against slavery, were pacifist, and were very tolerant and liberal minded. The implementation of mercantilist policies as a result of the Restoration, promoted self sustained economy in the colonies. As a result, rice, cotton, and indigo harvesting ... • 32. Healthy Eating Unhealthy Ogden HEALTHY EATING INTRODUCTION Ogden (2017) has defined health behavior as any behavior that has a positive or negative impact on that individual s health status. For example, healthy eating, physical activity, safe sex, and wearing seat belts are behaviors that would positively impact a person s health, while the opposite behaviors, unhealthy eating, sedentary lifestyle, unsafe sex and desisting from wearing seat belts, can negatively impact the health of an individual. This written assignment will discuss healthy eating habits that my family has vigilantly engaged in for the last several years and the beliefs that have motivated us to adapt this behavior. Before we got engaged in this behavior, we had no idea that an individual s health outcome is largely determined by what they eat and how they eat it. Constantly seeking information about diet and healthy eating in general, we gradually changed our behavior concerning our eating habits. We strongly believed that we could take control of our health status by deliberately choosing what to and what not to eat. DISCUSSION French and British Psychological Society (2010) have stated that health behavior may be categorized into two: risk increasing behaviors and health promoting behaviors. To live a healthy lifestyle, we resolved to avoid the former and adapt the latter, and the behavior that we felt was crucial to pay attention to was healthy eating. French British Psychological Society have emphasized that the modern food ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Cryptocus Neoformans Cryptococcus neoformans is a fungus that lives in the environment around the world. This fungus can be found in bird droppings, on rotted wood, or hollowed trees. C. neoformans is mostly contracted by children, since they play outside around areas where the cohabitate. In order to be infected with the fungus, one just needs to breath in or around it. However, this fungus is not harmful to those who are healthy. It is especially harmful to anyone with a weak immune system, such as those with HIV/AIDS. Once infected with the fungus, it usually targets the lungs and central nervous system, but may also affect other parts of the body. The infection is called Cryptococcosis. • 34. Essay on Power of Nuclear Energy Abstract The use of nuclear energy is a big topic for debate. Many countries have fully embraced it while others, such as the U. S., haven t. Nuclear energy is feared for its danger and scorned because of its wastes. On the other hand, nuclear energy does have some pros like cheaper cost of energy and environmentally safe. Reactor breeders show great promise in nuclear waste, but are it enough to convince the nation? Introduction Nuclear knowledge has existed for a long time. Nuclear Engineering U.S. Department of Energy relates, ―By 1900, the physicists knew the atom contains large quantities of energy‖ (par 11). Many others formed good theories, such as Ernest Rutherford and Einstein s contribution with his equation E=mc^2. In 1934 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nuclear Engineering U.S. Department of Energy explains that, ― It [self sustaining chain] would happen if enough uranium could be brought together under proper conditions‖ (par 19). The result of all this talk was that in 1942 Fermi gathered scientists at the University of Chicago to discuss their theories and possibly create a self sustaining chain reaction. By November of that year they had constructed plans and were prepared to build this new model known as Chicago Pile 1. Nuclear Engineering U.S. Department of Energy describes the model as, ―In addition to uranium and graphite, it contained control rods made of cadmium. Cadmium is a metallic element that absorbs neutrons. When the rods were in the pile, there were fewer neutrons to fission uranium atoms. This slowed the chain reaction. When the rods were pulled out, more neutrons were available to split atoms. The chain reaction sped up‖(par 21). In December of 1942 the scientists were ready to demonstrate their hard work. This was a huge break through in the nuclear world. Most of the early research done on nuclear energy consisted of trying to make nuclear weapons. The experiments were performed in New Mexico under the name of the Manhattan Project. Their efforts were a success with the creation of the first atom bomb. After World War II though, the use of nuclear energy was turned more peaceful uses. In 1946 Congress created the Atomic Energy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. A Critique REGGIO EMILIAAPPROACH A EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY I fully support the Reggio Emilia Approach model which was found by Loris Malaguzzi. This model became associated with mainstream educational practices in 1945 when the first parent run preschool of the common people opened in Reggio Emilia, Italy. The Reggio Emilia Approach is an educational philosophy focused on preschool and primary education. The destruction from the war, parents believed, necessitated a new, quick approach to teaching their children. I enjoy the fact that this is a child centered educational program that features working with art. In the Reggio Emilia School, children are viewed as powerful and capable. Children are validated as unique individuals ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Much of what occurs in the class reflects a constructivist approach to early education. Reggio Emilia s approach does challenge some conceptions of teacher competence and developmentally appropriate practice. Teachers in Reggio Emilia assert the importance of being confused as a contributor to learning; thus a major teaching strategy is purposely to allow mistakes to happen, or to begin a project with no clear sense of where it might end. Another characteristic that is counter to the beliefs of many Western educators is the importance of the child s ability to negotiate in the peer group. I think that one of the most challenging aspects of the Reggio Emilia approach is the solicitation of multiple points of view regarding children s needs, interests, and abilities, and the mutual faith in parents, teachers, and children to contribute in meaningful ways to the determination of school ... • 37. Migrant Workers and Xenophobia In addition, the continued increase of the migrant workers in Singapore might lead to xenophobia in the country. According to Khan, Rola and Ruxandra migrant workers continue to suffer economic prejudice because government employment policies operate in favor of national workers (1). In Singapore, migrant workers make up a larger percentage of the population thereby leading to competition over employment with the natives. As such, the possibility of xenophobia prevailing in Singapore is high. This is because competition between natives and foreigners over meager economic resources has always led to xenophobia in many other countries. For example, xenophobia has been a problem in South Africa because the residents accuse African immigrants from the horn of Africa for stealing their jobs (Slier, para. 3). The xenophobia problems come from unemployed South Africans. Nonetheless, most of the immigrants struggle to earn a living in the same way the natives do but the natives view them as competitors. For instance, most successful immigrant groups are Somalis. The reason for the success of the Somalis is their entrepreneurial skills as well as their strong intra ethnic ties that resemble those of the Indians. Each slum has an isolated Somali neighborhood where most Somali refugees live and work (Abdi, para. 7). Nonetheless, most Somali refugees and immigrants face insecurity from the local vigilante groups and gangs because they view them as aliens. However, there has been ... • 38. The Laws Of Same Sex Marriage Advice to a U.S. State Senator on whether natural law might determine whether passing a statute prohibiting same sex marriage is an appropriate legislative act? State marriage laws are generally defined as the union between one man and one woman. However, a law is in the process of being passed in an effort to banned same sex marriage. The senate must examine this law with the general appropriateness of the law and with strict scrutiny. The question is whether passing a natural law statute prohibiting same sex marriage would be an appropriate legislative act? I will advise the senator based on Blackstone s law of nature and its relevance to God. King s how just and unjust laws affect society and finally Aquinas how unjust law should be rooted in eternal law. As stated by William Blackstone, man is considered to be a creature that must necessarily be subject to the laws of his creator, for he is entirely a dependent being. [A]s man depends absolutely upon his maker for everything, it is necessary that he should in all points conform to his maker s will (Brauch). In other words, God s creation should be directed by the will of God our creator. Blackstone suggests that the law of nature relevant to God has full reliance on God. For as God, when he created matter, and endued it with a principle of mobility, established certain rules for the perpetual direction of that motion; so when he created man and endued him freewill to conduct himself in all parts of life, he laid ... So with that in mind, what is the true belief system behind the Nazi party? We all know that it was probably, in many people s opinions, one of the most discriminated times in history as well. But through a lot of research I found out that even though it was a really bad time for Jews, gypsies, homosexuals, and colored people, it wasn t that bad on the economy, so with that in mind, what is the true belief system behind the Nazi party? Why did he do what he did, and what was his point? Hitler cared about Germany immensely and tried to show that he wanted what was best for the country. So I will discuss some of his beliefs throughout what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We now realize that, sure, the whole death camp thing was not the way to go, but Hitler was an extremist. He really believed that these people were causing major problems, and he convinced many younger people of Germany so that they would have an impact on the next generation. Even though all of this was sickening, his other strategies really helped the economy that was having major problems during this time period. Hitler wanted a New Germany he wanted to focus on making a new Germany a place where there are no mistakes, and everyone was perfect, and remember his form of perfect was white, blonde with blue eyes, Christian and straight. He didn t accept anyone else. He didn t want people like gypsies and homosexuals, he also felt like the Jews were the reason for Germanys defeat in WWI so he needed to do something about them too. Hitler s extremist beliefs resulted in all of these horrible things we still mourn about today. He loved his country like a nationalist but went to extremes to save it. The devotion he put in his country helped when it came to economic possibilities. Hitler had used his appearance in the courtroom to send a message to the General Staff that there would be no attempt to replace the regular Army with an army of storm troopers and that once in power, the Nazis would raise the German Army to new heights of greatness. This was exactly what the generals wanted to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Others tend to binge drink because it is fun and cool. When in reality it is not cool to binge drink. Binge drinking is when a person consumes a large amount of alcohol in one taking. This is not good because just about 90% of the alcohol consumed by youth under the age of 21 in the United States is in the form of binge drinks (What is Binge). This is not healthy for under age minors to be consuming this much of alcohol this can affect them in their health such as liver failure, and to making bad choices such as driving while intoxicated. A bad example of binge drinking is when Allem says, I binge drink every chance I get and to be honest I am disgusted with myself, but I cannot control my desire to do it.... If I drink too much or drink certain drinks, I get breathless and go blotchy all over my body, but I continue to drink until I am so exhausted I fall asleep....
