Charlotte Reflection
During my first semester at UNC Charlotte, I experienced various circumstances that negatively
impacted my academic progress. Prior to moving to Charlotte, I was charged with a traffic infraction
in Montgomery County. Knowing this, I decided to move to Charlotte anyways and enroll in the
spring semester of 2016. I also found a job before moving to Charlotte to help pay off my court fees
and other necessities that I required. Later in the month of January, I received another infraction.
During the month of February, I managed to pay off my court fees from my first infraction and
manage my grades fairly. Whenever I had to pay off my second infraction, everything started to go
downhill. This ticket was more expensive and the time frame was much

A Brief Note On Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting
Introduction and background
Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is a surgical procedure performed on patients with coronary
artery disease to improve their survival and quality of life. (1) It remains to be the gold standard
treatment for patients requiring multivessel coronary revascularization despite recent advances in
medical therapies and Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI). (2) There are two forms of CABG.
Traditionally, CABG is performed with a cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) machine (aka heart lung
machine or the pump ) which maintains circulation while the heart is temporarily stopped. (1) This
creates a bloodless and motionless operating field for the surgeons. (3) The body is then weaned from
CPB and the heart is restarted with the completion of grafting. (1) Alternatively, a relatively newer
technique called off pump CABG or beating heart surgery can be performed. With this procedure,
CPB is not utilized and the surgeon grafts the blood vessel on the pumping heart after the area around
the blocked coronary artery is stabilized. (1)
Ever since the introduction of off pump CABG, clinicians all over the world have been interested in
finding out whether off pump CABG can help patients avoid the deleterious effects associated with
CPB and a large amount of research has been undertaken to investigate the potential advantages of off
pump CABG over the conventional on pump CABG. Adequate knowledge in this field will allow
surgeons to select an optimal surgical

The African Freedom Movement
Caleb Renfroe
History of Civilization II
Ch.22 Question
Freedom is defined as the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or
restraint, and this idea of freedom is arguably one of the most sought after privileges throughout the
history of human existence. Wars have been fought over it, lives have been lost, song and poems and
works of literature have been written about it. Freedom is what defines our country here in America
today and it is the desire of the entirety of the human race. Although we may desire freedom and we
may take it for granted in today s society, it hasn t always been so easy to come by. The Indian
freedom movement and the African freedom movement both had their fair share of struggles before
achieving their desired state of freedom. Some of these struggles were common to both countries but
each also experienced difficulties unique to their own country as well.
One common thing between both India and Africa s freedom movements is their success in becoming
free nations under the rule of their own government rather than by a foreign countries. In India, the
movement began its success in 1885 with the establishment of the Indian National Congress (INC)
gained further traction under the leadership of Mohandas Gandhi and by 1947 colonial India became
independent. In Africa, the struggle against apartheid was one of success as well. The African freedom
movement gained began in 1912 with the African National Congress (ANC) and gained

Archetypal Journey In Little Miss Sunshine And As I Lay Dying
Seven year old Olive Hoover gets a call saying she has qualified for a pageant in California. The entire
family comes together and sets off from Albuquerque to the Little Miss Sunshine pageant. Her family,
which consists of her mother Sheryl, her father, Richard who is a motivational speaker, brother
Dwayne who is quiet, her grandfather Edwin, who has trained her for the pageant, and her uncle Frank
who just came who from attempting to kill himself. On their journey, they face difficulties that
challenge them on completing their journey. The film, Little Miss Sunshine, is an effective modern
interpretation of the archetypal journey, modeled in As I Lay Dying, because of its use of situational
and character archetypes. The situational archetype ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The hero of this film is the father, Richard Hoover. his purpose for going on this journey is to change.
He has put his work life in front of his family, and through this his goal is to get closer to his family. In
comparison to our model, he is most similar to Jewel Bundren. Both characters are abusive towards
their family, one of the strongest members, and something is above their family; for Jewel it is his
horse, and as stated earlier, Richard it is his job (Typeset World). Sheryl Hoover can be looked at as a
shape shifter, in relation to her loving her husband, but then at times be completely frustrated with him
and wanting a divorce (Archetypes). She is most relatable to Anse Bundren, the father of the Bundren
s. Both of them are quite and can never stick with their decisions. Both of them promised their family
members, and also take their children on their crazy journey. Looking at Olive Hoover, she would be
considered the child since she is innocent and completely unaware of her surrounding, like when Stan
attempted to kill himself (Character Archetypes). Olive is quite similar to the youngest Bundren,
Vardaman. Both children are innocent and are naive to what is going on in their lives. For example,
Olive s innocence is shown when she asks about Stan s bandages; she says, Why did you want to kill
yourself unaware of his situation (Little Miss Sunshine Script). This is similar to Vardaman asking
Why ain t I a town boy since he is not cognisant of the outside world (Faulkner 66). One of the most
closely related characters in Little Miss Sunshine and our archetypal model, As I Lay Dying, is
Grandpa Edwin Hoover and Addie Bundren. Both are a curse to their family in their traveling (Typeset
World). They would both be considered the world; they are showing the an ending of a cycle of life ,
passing away, and

Small Engine Repair Essay
Imagine after a long day of work going home and finding that your yard needs to be mowed. Your
lawn mower is not starting, your weed whacker is broken, and nothing is going your way. You do not
have a clue what is wrong with your equipment and it is only minutes before the store closes. Now
you need to load all of your equipment up into the back of the truck or on the trailer. You are speeding
down the road to get to the store before they flip the closed sign but you do not make it in time. Not
only have you wasted valuable time, but you have to start the whole process over tomorrow. Being a

(Source B). Small engine mechanics work on a range of equipment from motorcycles to weed
whackers. A mechanic will figure out what the problem is with the engine, buy replacement parts if
needed, fix it, then return it to the customer good as new. Machines do work on a wide variety of
things, and on many different difficulty levels. Small engine mechanics do not use computers as much
as larger vehicle mechanics. The only time that a small engine mechanic would use a computer with
the engine is to do some fine tuning on racing motorcycles. Even though the employer will supply
large equipment like the computer, the employee is responsible for their own handy tools. Some
people have thousands of dollars in to their tools. Some people are a small engine repair man as a
hobby or as a career. To make a career out of small engine repair one would have to attend school.
Finding small engine mechanics are hard to do now days. Many small engine mechanics do not attend
college but receive a high school diploma. Most employers will teach a less experienced person on the
job. Employers will still have to see how well you are in basic reading, math, science, and mechanics.
Training to be a full time mechanic anywhere is a lot of work. Trainees will have to retain a lot of
information at once depending on what they are doing. One would start out by simply replacing spark
plugs to highly advance mechanical experience to overhauling

Employee Engagement Is Essential For Any Productive And...
Employee engagement in the workplace is essential for any productive and successful business. It is a
level of commitment and involvement an employee has towards their organization and its values. An
engaged employee feels a sense of purpose and belonging, and has the drive to improve performance
for the overall benefit of the organization. Effective engagement of one employee will motivate others,
inspiring the entire atmosphere of the workplace to where all employees are focused on their
organization s success. According to Gallup s 2013 State of the Global Workplace study, only 13
percent of employees across 142 countries are engaged at work. The study also revealed that 63
percent are disengaged and almost a quarter of all employees are actively disengaged (Gallup, 2013).
Engaged employees are crucial to protecting the competitive positioning of an organization. Bolman
and Deal (2013) state how a skilled and motivated workforce is a powerful source of competitive
advantage (p. 133). However, recognizing a strong and highly motivated workforce that is committed
to a company s mission and objectives can be a challenge. This paper will focus on best practices to
effectively engage employees, analyze the effectiveness at Hoag Hospital, provide recommendations
for further enhancement, and describe ways to improve leader effectiveness.
Best Practices Organizations must work to develop and nurture employee engagement. With the strong

Art And Culture, 1920-1945, An Exhibition Curated By Dr....
Between February 13 and July18, 2015 the Brigham Young University Museum of Art is exhibiting
Deco Japan: Shaping Art and Culture, 1920 1945, an exhibition curated by Dr. Kendall Brown. The
exhibit was collected in an attempt to detail the cultural transformation that took place in Japan from
the Roaring Twenties all the way through the end of World War II. The exhibit displays the tension
between the deep national culture and the up and coming cosmopolitan lifestyle. Dr. Brown gathered
art of all variations, ranging from paintings to sculptures to ordinary household objects.
Deco Art itself is a reflection of changing world cultures. It was born in France post World War I as a
sort of marriage between craft motifs and the industrial age, characterized by wealthy and bold
looking colors and shapes. The art form is well depicted in the decoration of the Rockefeller Center in
New York or any of the art and decor found in the movie The Great Gatsby. This striking form
represented the glamour of the age. In a great sense, the period represented a change from
conservative to a more liberal view on life. This was no different in Japan.
The period observed through the art pieces is one of extreme tension between two very different
lifestyles. During this time, many Japanese youth were reaching out to Western Modernism and the
allure of the big city and Jazz culture. The Moga, short for Modan Gaaru (modern girl) and the Mobo,
the modern boy, were paving the way for a new

Nike Of Samothrace
During the Hellenistic Period, there were remarkable pieces of art and architecture created to represent
the Greek Gods, culture, and art. Each piece had represented their own story whether it be from a
battle or life. In April of 1863, the French expedition led by the amateur archaeologist Charles
Champoiseau, had founded a beautiful piece of art (Just Fun Facts). This sculpture is called the Nike
of Samothrace. The Nike of Samothrace represents the winged Victory (p.78).
The Nike of Samothrace is located in the Sanctuary of the Great Gods on the island of Samothrace.

Analysis Of Bon Voyage
Visual/Object Analysis Project One Greg Olson s Bon Voyage is a framed print painting. It measures
13.50 x 11.88 . This image was submitted to Fine Art America in 2012. I find Olson created a quite
busy, yet intricate image that evokes many different thoughts and feelings as to its meaning. One can
make a connection with God, others can say the image represents the expansive imagination of
children. Less than a quarter of a bed finds itself sitting in the right section of the frame. The blankets
were blue with hints of purple. A singular white pillow lays against the wooden bedframe. Above the
bed rests a variety of purple and blue shades blended inside a golden picture frame. The walls
containing the room are the same mix of blue but with the lightest part of the image being the middle,
with it getting subtly darker as the viewers eyes stray left or right from the center. Just to the left of the
bed, a young boy, perhaps six years of age, holding open a sturdy wooden chest for a large array of
animals. The image looks to be representing post 2000. The boy was a pale skin tone with rosy cheeks
and blond hair. He wore a loose, long sleeve red pajama shirt, accompanied by red pajama pants. He
wore a heavier blue robe over his shirt. The robe consisted of two vertical white lines tracing the
opening of the robe in the front from top to bottom. There were also horizontal white lines reaching
across of the form of the body. The boy held a blue umbrella with a blue handle and

Sixth-Grade Math Teacher
Seventh grade mathematics teacher Mrs. Megan Ortinau at Van Buren Middle School begins lesson
planning by thinking about her learning objectives and standards she would like to cover. She thinks
about what she wants her students to take away from the lesson and moves forward from there. Before
beginning, Mrs. Ortinau considers what her students have learned in previous grades, and she tries to
expand on that as much as possible. She tries to compare the new material to material the students
have learned in the past. This can be done by reviewing standards covered in sixth grade as well as
communicating with sixth grade teachers. Also, communicating with sixth grade teachers can be

Ortinau s favorite teaching strategy is to relate mathematics to students lives or to get them up and
moving with activities. I have not been present for one of these activities, however, for example, one
Friday she led an activity that was an introduction to their unit on statistics and probability. The
students were broken up into small groups and were each handed a small box of Sun Maid raisins. The
students had to empty the box and count the number of raisins, which differed from box to box. Then,
she created a line plot on a piece of green paper. On the bottom of the paper, there was a number line
ranging from twenty five to forty. The students had to glue their raisin box above the number that
corresponded with the number of raisins that were in their box. Mrs. Ortinau feels that students
remember the lessons more when they are given the opportunity to make the discovery of a rule or
formula on their own instead of just being told what it is. This can be seen when Mrs. Ortinau ties in
life examples into her lessons. For example, her examples do not talk about Joey buying 700
watermelons, but her examples include a family of four trying to figure out how much change they
will have after leaving a 20% tip on their $50 bill. This also creates a purpose for their math by
explaining that adults must calculate every single time they leave a tip for a

The Mystery Of Capital By Hernando De Soto
Efficient institutions are essential factors that enhance the economic growth, especially real estate is
an important sector of the overall economic growth. However, real estate investment and development
various from countries to countries. For example, there is a huge difference between real estate
development in the west and elsewhere. In this paper, I will discuss about Hernando de Soto s, the
author of The Mystery of Capital, arguments regarding real estate development in the West and
elsewhere. Also, I will discuss four key points from this book regarding the importance of property
rights. Lastly, I agree with de Soto s main argument that capital is the main forces that drives
productivities, and public policies promotes legal economic activities and settlements. According to
Soto, property ownership is essential in a capitalism where it create economic growth.
1. What is the difference between development in the West and elsewhere?
First, I will discuss the difference between development in the West and elsewhere. In the book The

Battle Of The Bulge Essay
The Battle of the Bulge
The battle of the bulge was Hitler s last chance to win the war or at least make the allies go for a
treaty. He did this because his forces were being pushed back into Germany and soon they would run
out of supplies and other resources for war. Hitler thought of this bold plan when he recalled how a
German hero Frederick the great was facing defeat, Frederick went on a offensive attack at his foe
who had superior numbers but the bold moved worked and Hitler thought he could do the same thing.
The Battle of the bulge took place on December sixteenth 1944. More than a million men participated
in this battle including some 600,000 Germans, 500,000 Americans, and 55,000 British which made it

It was the place were they had great success against the French people in the beginning of the war. The
Germans also selected it because it was easy to hide troops in the hills which they did at the first major
offensive. Hitler code named this attack as the watch am Rein The Americans the area were in a thin
line because they wanted to give support to the flank were the attack was expected so they thought.
During the War Eisenhower and his staff felt this spot was the least likely to be attacked. The thought
the Germans would not try any thing through the narrow passageway. The Germans wanted the
opposite of what the Americans wanted to do. As stated above the Allied troops were resting and
reforming; they consisted of General Simpson s 9th Army and General Hodges 1st US Army in the
north and General Patton s 3rd Army to the south. The Ardennes was held by General Middleton who
had the 8th US Army Corps, 106th and 26th Infantry Divisions and 4th and 9th Armored Divisions.
The object of the German offensive was to push through the Belgian Ardennes, cross the Mousse,
retake Antwerp and its harbor facilities, thrust to the north and reach the sea which they almost
succeed in doing. This would cut off the Allied troops in Holland and Belgium, making it impossible
for them to withdraw. The success of the operation depended on three important

The Evolution Of Eukaryotic Cells
After the unanticipated discovery of a separate mitochondrial genome, there have been new insights
into its inheritance and mutation. There is enough evidence to bolster the fact that fusion between a
proteobacteria and archaebacteria is an integral event in evolution of eukaryotic cells. However, it has
also been conjectured that eukaryotic cell may have originated from prokaryotes. As a part of this
evolution, many mitochondrial ancestral genes were lost. These are the genes that were no longer
required in their new host cell environment. All eukaryotes contain genes of mitochondrial origin in
their nuclear genome. However, this is only true for a few genes. Studies indicate that humans and
mice have only 35% of mitochondrial gene products that are similar to bacteria Rickettsia. Remaining
mitochondrial proteins are derived from either non mitochondrial nuclear genes or as a result of
horizontal gene transfer events. Mitochondria have developed different states during the evolution of
eukaryotic cell. Aerobic mitochondria retain a small mtDNA while anaerobic mitochondria and
hydrogen producing mitochondria alter the function of respiratory chain and also maintain mtDNA.
Most animal mitochondrial genome obeys a specific genome composition. However, there are
exceptions where variations have been observed. The genes of mtDNA are tightly packed together
with minimal non coding DNA. However, one large non coding region called as D loop, containing
regulatory elements for

veterans from three years, 13 of them from the Vietnam War, traveled from Shreve to Washington,

night. For Roger Pennell, an Air Force veteran and commander of the American Legion Post in
Shreve, it was his first chance to see the wall. The visit for him was impactful. Over the years, he has

Summary of the Book Hunger of Memory and Response to It.
Public or Private: Why not both? There exists in the majority of people a schism between their public
lives and their private lives. People should desire to have their public selves match their private selves
as closely as possible. A rift between the two causes nothing but pain and suffering for everyone
around those people and places a heavy burden on the spirit of the ones responsible. Trust and honesty
are essential to our society and the truth should be complimentary, not earned. Richard Rodriguez, a
writer and public speaker, expertly illustrates his own experience with this type of double life in his
autobiography, Hunger of Memory. In the last section of Hunger of Memory Mr. Secrets , Rodriguez
paints an intimate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Later, Rodriguez s mother asks what Psychiatry is. His answer involves Freud, analysis, and clinically
trained listeners to which she replies, You mean that people tell a psychiatrist about their personal
lives? (183). Would that be so bad? The key to being completely open and honest is to not have any
regrets. Since the past can not be undone, no good can come from regret, people need only to learn
from it and move on. If nothing is regretted then no secrets are necessary and honesty comes naturally.
This simple idea, commonly practiced, can literally change the world. Rodriguez goes on to say, There
are things so deeply personal that they can be revealed only to strangers (185). Why is that? Why is it
often easier to speak of personal things with complete strangers? Perhaps Rodriguez believes that
strangers do not know him well enough to judge him, and should a judgment come regardless, he does
not know them well enough to care. That seems likely. However, this implies that he believes those
close to him will judge him and that he is self conscious enough to care. Is it any wonder that
Rodriguez has adopted the same insecure and secretive attitude of his mother? Thus, the cycle
continues. If Rodriguez would only let go of his regrets, he could get over his perceived loss and draw
his family and friends a closer than they have ever been before. In Hunger of Memory, the chapter

Overcoming The Way Of My Life
Overcome. Some see the word as a way of defeating a difficult obstacle. I would agree to an extent
that this is true for some, maybe most. For me however, to overcome has a whole other meaning. For
me, it meant to face my demons and forgive those who had hurt me. It meant finding a way to live my
life the way that I wanted and to not allow my past to interfere. My life is not really what one would
call the life of a typical teenager. My mother was a prostitute who was addicted to cocaine. My brother
and I were taken away from here and given to our aunt when we were born. We had a pretty decent
life, except for the fact that our new mother was never home so we were basically raised by her
children. For my brother, it was pretty okay because he was spoiled rotten by her daughter. For me, it
was a living Hell. I was not looked after as well as my brother. I still to this day still have no idea why.
That was just how it was. My adoptive mother had three children of her own. Two sons and a
daughter. When I was around five years old, her son started taking a liking to me. And I do not mean
the kind that a brother or relative takes into a small child. At first, it started with subtle caresses that I
never really paid any attention to. Then it progressed to him watching me get undressed in my room.
Finally it got to where he had me preform oral on him. I never really understood what was happening
at the time. I mean, I was only five years old so I never fully processed what was

The Life Of A Woman, By Jamaica Kincaid
Lucy, the eponymous character of Jamaica Kincaid s second novel, moves from Antigua to New York
not in an arbitrary move, but in a calculated effort to explore her latent queer sexuality and gradually
escape the gendered labor of her homeland. By working as an au pair for an upper class white woman
named Mariah, Lucy trades birthing labor for domestic labor in a move that initially seems lateral, but
serves as a potential gateway to freedom from caretaking that would have been inaccessible in
Antigua. Unbridled from her mother, the American Lucy has opportunities to explore her sexuality
without being deemed promiscuous, and has the ability to live with a woman she can have intimate
relations with. Lucy has continuously disobeyed the performative prescriptions of heteronormativity
in her life, but, as explained by the work of Rosamund King, her transgressions in Antigua are
rendered invisible by a culture that believes women are incapable of sexual agency. America
acknowledges Lucy s transgressions against heteronormativity, which lets her explore sexuality and
gradually escape the obligations of gendered work. Lucy is escaping the obligations delineated by
female performance. Lucy does not begin to experiment or play with queerness and gender in
America, but remains unassimilated to beauty standards with the same intensity she had in Antigua.
During her upbringing, her gender nonconforming behaviors and ideology went ignored in Antigua
because of the common misconception that females are incapable of having sexual agency,
intelligence, or usefulness beyond sustenence work and caretaking within the household (King). Lucy
is allowed to kiss girls, like her best friend from school, and her does not fret over failing to enjoy acts
of intimacy with males. Heteronormativity is not enforced by expectations of female and male
pairings, but instead by the gendered division of labor. According to Nancy Hartsock s Feminist
Standpoint, this tradition of forcing females into sustenance work should create a collective caregiver
essence to women, and Lucy proves the antithesis. Akash Nichols, in his essay Straight Growth and
the Imperial Alternative: Queer Reading Jamaica Kincaid, delves into how 20th century and, as

Air Jamaica Narrative
The day finally came. It was time for the dreaded goodbyes. My entire face was soaked against my
grandfather s wrinkled hazel shirt. I couldn t see a thing from the tears that flooded my eyes. I had to
say goodbye to my grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. It was a bittersweet feeling
leaving behind my family in Jamaica but the thought of finally going to America overwhelmed me
with joy. After saying goodbye to my family, I walked on the plane eager to see what was in store for
me. I stayed awake the entire plane ride, taking everything in. Once we finally landed I grew fidgety.
My patience grew smaller as I waited to exit the plane. After what felt like hours, I was finally off. I
got nervous. I didn t know what to expect. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When we finally locked eyes, we both had smiles from ear to ear. I felt like I was on the plane again as
his arms swooped me into the air. After a few seconds of flying I finally returned to the ground, happy
as can be. When we walked out of the airport, I stood still and admired the colorful sign above my
head that read or said Air Jamaica. I admired the even bigger sign that read or said JFK. There were
strange yellow cars everywhere. There was a strange odor in the air. It was a whole new world for me.
I was like a baby taken out into the real world for the first time, looking and admiring everything that I
saw. The big city buildings fascinated me, the cars, the people, everything was so intriguing. Time
went by and I soon experienced my first Halloween, my first day of elementary school, my first
Christmas gift, seeing snow for the first time and many more firsts that will stick with me forever.
Being able to live in America is truly a blessing to me. I am living the life with the opportunities so
many other kids in my hometown would be so thankful for. I am proud to call America my home.
When I first arrived here I was the little girl with the cute Jamaican accent, but after attending twelve
years of school in the New York Education system I feel no different from my fellow

I Was A New Coach
It was one in the morning but I could not stop now, I refreshed the page again, again and again. My
leg was involuntarily bouncing and my eyes were burning but I wanted to know badly, it was
agonizing. I was on vacation and the results from soccer tryouts, which were a couple weeks ago were
going to be posted soon. The elite team I had always been apart of had a new coach, who was
renowned for having success. I was so ready to win, and my old team was inadequate. My blinks
became longer and I refreshed the page a few more times before I couldn t open my eyes. When I
woke up the my family was asleep in the hotel room, it was eerily still. I ran over to the computer, out

I had a mild appreciation for his fatherly worry but rest assured I knew everything would be fine. With
that, I got out of the car waved and gave a thumbs up to my Dad and headed towards my new team.
The nervousness receded as I saw some old teammates. I set my bag down and waited, standing off to
the side of team. Almost too soon the chatter of the group died down and the coach, a small fit man
approached us. He told us to run two miles in under fourteen minutes, which was about six laps
around the field. So with no further discussion the group set off at a grueling pace, happy to race each
other. We ran as a unit and I became comfortable with the rhythm of their thumping feet. I was content
that I was able to keep up, considering they had already been practicing for a while. Soon our group
was increasingly linear and I found myself unsurprisingly, near the back. My very bones hurt, rattling
as my aching legs continued on purely by effort. I desperately sucked in breath but my throat was tight
and it was not enough. I tried again, and again but my airway was even smaller. It was as if I was in a
raging river, moving downstream quickly helplessly trying to stay afloat, completely out of control.
Now I was falling behind the group and I imagined disapproval from the distant foreboding figure of
the coach, so I tried harder. I gasped with renewed vigor and with each exhalation I puffed out with
extreme effort. Not even after a minute my pace had

Elizabethan Rapier
I m going to compare the different characteristics and usage of rapier and dagger in The Three
Musketeers and The Man in the Iron Mask. Rapier and dagger play was very prevalent on the
continent and in England during the Elizabethan period. The standard configuration for a duel was
rapier and dagger. It was common for every gentlemen to carry a dagger and some carried a rapier at
that time (Wilson). According to the material, rapier is held in dominant hand for attacking while
dagger is used in the other hand for defending. With the combination of the two weapons, the
combating effect will attain a better level. Similarly, both of the stories took place in France of the
17th century. And the physical violence plays an important role in promoting ... Show more content on

The Biased Media Essay examples
In today s society television news is an entertainment medium which was intended to provide
information to the public on current issues, but that is not its prime function any more. It s also meant
to help viewers see issues from different perspectives. Being objective on a certain issue cannot
always exist so there is a bias of some sort in every news station. Each news station has a specific
point of view and they try to persuade the viewers to agree with them. To do this they use specific
evidence to support the idea, and specific language to help you to believe that idea.
The relationship between the media and politics has been going on for a long time. According to Paul

We should have the ability to watch a news station and get details and be able to decide on a situation
on our own.
There are many arguments when it comes to this issue. Some people think that the media has a liberal
bias; some people think that there is a conservative view. The real issue is that there is a bias opinion
and this is changing the way that people perceive the media. According to Tyler Cohen `Media Bias Is
Not a Serious Problem it doesn t matter that the media has a biased opinion. He states that people are
aware that the media is bias and because of that they keep in mind when watching. He also states that
people want to watch stations that have the same opinion as them (2005). Most people to watch
specific news stations that do have the same belief as them, but we should be able to watch whatever
station we want and be able to get the same type of information.
The question of the media having a liberal bias definitely been around for some time now. Because the
media has received so many complaints about having this slanted view some think that the media has
changed. According to E.J. Dionne s article `Liberal Media Bias Is a Myth the media has gotten better.
He states that on social and cultural issues, the media was reporting more objectively (2002). In his
article he brings up the issue that now that the media is trying to not be so liberal they are now going
to have a new bias. It is a constant battle.

Essay on The Massachusetts and Chesapeake Colonies
America, one of the youngest countries in the world, partly owes its success to the events that took
place in the northeastern coast in the 1600s. It was great risk for English to colonize in America, a
foreign and faraway land, from which they did not know what to expect. At that time, America was
dominated by Dutch and French traders and a native population not so friendly with most of the
settlers. The colonies in Massachusetts and Chesapeake, located at the main crossroads of English,
Dutch, and French settlers and natives, play a significant role in the development of the future world
power. Although today the east coast enjoys a harmonious and successful lifestyle, in the early days of
our Nation s birth, the Massachusetts and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
John Rolfe was responsible for finding the perfect blend of tobacco that made the cash crop so
successful. The climate of the Chesapeake was good for farming because of the long growing season
and its flat land. In 1619, African slaves were introduced to Chesapeake society. This caused a
significant increase in the demand for workers. Also in 1619, the House of Burgess was established to
elect representatives for office. The settlers who established on the northern east coast were strictly
searching for a land with religious freedom. The Puritans, followers of John Calvin, settled in the
Massachusetts Bay Colony. In England, they wished to purify the Anglican Church but were
persecuted by King James I. The Puritans believed in well ordered communities and families. They
stressed education and the specific roles for males and females. The Pilgrims, or Separatists, founded
Plymouth Colony and wrote the Mayflower Compact as a self government document by taking
advantage of a loophole in their charter. This was the first self government treaty in North America.
They believed that the English church was so corrupt that they had to establish their own independent
congregations. As time passed, the New England settlements grew in population and diversity and
split into different colonies such as Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and

years of service, he retired. He was ask, what would have you done if you had not come in the Army?
I d probably be a bus driver, I don t know. The General had some very strong parental guidance while

Powell was commissioned an officer in the U.S. Army and in 1962 sent to South Vietnam as a military
adviser. During a second tour of duty in the late 1960s, he was in a helicopter crash and, despite his
own injuries, was able to rescue fellow soldiers from the burning wreckage. For his heroism, he was
awarded the Soldier s Medal, one of several commendations earned during his military career. Powell
excelled in military and academic pursuits. Although an average student in his early years, he made
excellent grades in his 30s while earning his MBA at George Washington University, despite lacking
many undergraduate prerequisites when he enrolled. Powell never put chalk marks on the wall that
indicated he has to do this. He has tried to do his best at what came his way. He was not without
ambition, but driven by ambition. He had a full and active public life. He would like to be
remembered as a good soldier who served well, and is well thought of by his fellows. Those fellows
include his greatest mentors, the captains, and majors who taught him as a lieutenant and kept him
going straight ahead. The less you associate with some people, the more your life will improve. Any
time you tolerate mediocrity in others, it increases your mediocrity. An important attribute in
successful people is their impatience with negative thinking and negative acting people. As you grow,
your associates will change. Some of your friends will not want you to go on.

Running head: CHANGE MANAGEMENT PLAN
Building a Culture for Sustaining Change at CrysTel
Student Name
University of Phoenix
Introduction
A reliable change management plan is often required to overcome workplace resistance when
employees are presented with a new way of doing things. Change management is a strategy designed
to transition from the status quo to some new ideal way of doing business. CrysTel, a growing
telecommunications company, finds itself in a very dynamic industry that along with frequent
advances in technology will dictate that it adapt to rapid and persistent changes. Developing a
successful change management plan for CrysTel will have three distinct goals: optimize flexibility,

Regular feedback and proactive counseling help to effectively close information gaps between
employees. The Marketing department suffers most from performance feedback at CrysTel. They do
not have a strong mentoring process in place and there is an issue with delegation of responsibility
here. 360 Degree Feedback provides accurate performance feedback to staff members who receive
feedback from a boss, coworkers, and direct reporting staff. Done appropriately, it can boost
performance and provide recognition and motivation (Debare, 1997). Because feedback is intimately
related to the goal setting process, it involves the same behavioral outcomes: direction, effort, and
persistence (Kreitner, 2003).
Employees of Technology Development department at CrysTel are encouraged to approach a conflict
resolution committee to address unresolved conflicts. Conversely, the Sales and Delivery department
only allows conflicts or issues to be raised only during the semi annual performance review. This was
indicative of a lower score than the other departments in this area on the climate survey.
Multifunctional roles carried out by members of this department causes overlapping efforts and
undefined responsibilities. Inadequate communication and teamwork make conflict resolution
difficult. Problem solving is the only style that represents a purely win–win orientation (McShane,
2004). Problem solving tries to find a mutually beneficial solution for both

Forehead In The Sky Classification
At 29,035 feet( National Geographic) , Mount Everest is the top of the world. Split in half by the
Nepalese and Chinese border this is just one of the enormous mountains in the mountain range named
the Himalayas. This spectacle of nature doesn t come without it s risks though, about 240 people have
died on the mountain. The locals call Everest Sagarmatha, meaning Forehead in the Sky , and it was
first climbed in 1953. Sir Edmund Percival Hillary, a New Zealand veteran, and Tenzing Norgay, a
Nepalese sherpa, were the first to summit Sagarmatha. Hillary and Tenzing took seven weeks to reach
the summit on May 29, 1953. Since then about 4,000 climbers have attempted the deadly climb. But
Hillary was the very first to do it.
Many people think climbing a mountain is an almost vertical climb all the way up. But that is not the
case, there are many smaller climbs that go both up and down. The climb is very demanding on the
body. You must be in top shape if you expect to summit the mountain. To get all the way up you need
oxygen tanks, because the air is too thin once you get near the top. There are many camps up the
mountain for climbers to rest for the night or day. But you must acclimatize, or let your body get used
to the thin air (Mount Everest.Net). A common method is to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Marriott wondered what he should recommend to the board of directors regarding Project Chariot. He
had seen assured by legal counsel that the corporate was within its rights as a debtor to restructure
itself in this way. Investment advisor had given him an opinion that the transaction was in the best

Prior to moving to Charlotte, I was charged with a traffic infraction in Montgomery County. Knowing this, I decided to move to Charlotte anyways and enroll in the spring semester of 2016. I also found a job before moving to Charlotte to help pay off my court fees and other necessities that I required. Later in the month of January, I received another infraction. During the month of February, I managed to pay off my court fees from my first infraction and manage my grades fairly. • 5. A Brief Note On Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting Introduction and background Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is a surgical procedure performed on patients with coronary artery disease to improve their survival and quality of life. (1) It remains to be the gold standard treatment for patients requiring multivessel coronary revascularization despite recent advances in medical therapies and Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI). (2) There are two forms of CABG. Traditionally, CABG is performed with a cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) machine (aka heart lung machine or the pump ) which maintains circulation while the heart is temporarily stopped. (1) This creates a bloodless and motionless operating field for the surgeons. (3) The body is then weaned from CPB and the heart is restarted with the completion of grafting. (1) Alternatively, a relatively newer technique called off pump CABG or beating heart surgery can be performed. With this procedure, CPB is not utilized and the surgeon grafts the blood vessel on the pumping heart after the area around the blocked coronary artery is stabilized. (1) Ever since the introduction of off pump CABG, clinicians all over the world have been interested in finding out whether off pump CABG can help patients avoid the deleterious effects associated with CPB and a large amount of research has been undertaken to investigate the potential advantages of off pump CABG over the conventional on pump CABG. Adequate knowledge in this field will allow surgeons to select an optimal surgical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The African Freedom Movement Caleb Renfroe History of Civilization II Ch.22 Question Freedom is defined as the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint, and this idea of freedom is arguably one of the most sought after privileges throughout the history of human existence. Wars have been fought over it, lives have been lost, song and poems and works of literature have been written about it. Freedom is what defines our country here in America today and it is the desire of the entirety of the human race. Although we may desire freedom and we may take it for granted in today s society, it hasn t always been so easy to come by. The Indian freedom movement and the African freedom movement both had their fair share of struggles before achieving their desired state of freedom. Some of these struggles were common to both countries but each also experienced difficulties unique to their own country as well. One common thing between both India and Africa s freedom movements is their success in becoming free nations under the rule of their own government rather than by a foreign countries. In India, the movement began its success in 1885 with the establishment of the Indian National Congress (INC) gained further traction under the leadership of Mohandas Gandhi and by 1947 colonial India became independent. In Africa, the struggle against apartheid was one of success as well. The African freedom movement gained began in 1912 with the African National Congress (ANC) and gained ... • 7. Archetypal Journey In Little Miss Sunshine And As I Lay Dying Seven year old Olive Hoover gets a call saying she has qualified for a pageant in California. The entire family comes together and sets off from Albuquerque to the Little Miss Sunshine pageant. Her family, which consists of her mother Sheryl, her father, Richard who is a motivational speaker, brother Dwayne who is quiet, her grandfather Edwin, who has trained her for the pageant, and her uncle Frank who just came who from attempting to kill himself. On their journey, they face difficulties that challenge them on completing their journey. The film, Little Miss Sunshine, is an effective modern interpretation of the archetypal journey, modeled in As I Lay Dying, because of its use of situational and character archetypes. The situational archetype ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The hero of this film is the father, Richard Hoover. his purpose for going on this journey is to change. He has put his work life in front of his family, and through this his goal is to get closer to his family. In comparison to our model, he is most similar to Jewel Bundren. Both characters are abusive towards their family, one of the strongest members, and something is above their family; for Jewel it is his horse, and as stated earlier, Richard it is his job (Typeset World). Sheryl Hoover can be looked at as a shape shifter, in relation to her loving her husband, but then at times be completely frustrated with him and wanting a divorce (Archetypes). She is most relatable to Anse Bundren, the father of the Bundren s. Both of them are quite and can never stick with their decisions. Both of them promised their family members, and also take their children on their crazy journey. Looking at Olive Hoover, she would be considered the child since she is innocent and completely unaware of her surrounding, like when Stan attempted to kill himself (Character Archetypes). Olive is quite similar to the youngest Bundren, Vardaman. Both children are innocent and are naive to what is going on in their lives. For example, Olive s innocence is shown when she asks about Stan s bandages; she says, Why did you want to kill yourself unaware of his situation (Little Miss Sunshine Script). This is similar to Vardaman asking Why ain t I a town boy since he is not cognisant of the outside world (Faulkner 66). One of the most closely related characters in Little Miss Sunshine and our archetypal model, As I Lay Dying, is Grandpa Edwin Hoover and Addie Bundren. Both are a curse to their family in their traveling (Typeset World). They would both be considered the world; they are showing the an ending of a cycle of life , passing away, and ... (Source B). Small engine mechanics work on a range of equipment from motorcycles to weed whackers. A mechanic will figure out what the problem is with the engine, buy replacement parts if needed, fix it, then return it to the customer good as new. Machines do work on a wide variety of things, and on many different difficulty levels. Small engine mechanics do not use computers as much as larger vehicle mechanics. The only time that a small engine mechanic would use a computer with the engine is to do some fine tuning on racing motorcycles. Even though the employer will supply large equipment like the computer, the employee is responsible for their own handy tools. Some people have thousands of dollars in to their tools. Some people are a small engine repair man as a hobby or as a career. To make a career out of small engine repair one would have to attend school. Finding small engine mechanics are hard to do now days. Many small engine mechanics do not attend college but receive a high school diploma. Most employers will teach a less experienced person on the job. Employers will still have to see how well you are in basic reading, math, science, and mechanics. About 3.4% (11.3 million people) of the American population include illegal immigrants ( Five Facts about Illegal Immigration in the U.S. ). Deterrence, apprehension, and removal need to be strengthened by congress. Some say immigration should be allowed because the Statue of Liberty clearly is a representation of that, but the Statue of Liberty was originally a gift from France, and then a poet wrote a poem and placed it on the statue. The poem is about immigration, not the statue. Immigration should not be allowed because it has caused many problems like terrorism that we continue to try and prevent which continues to become increasingly harder with illegal immigrants flowing through the Mexican border. While illegal immigration is a growing crisis, many riots and protesting is happening in the heart of the U.S. mainland. • 10. Employee Engagement Is Essential For Any Productive And... Employee engagement in the workplace is essential for any productive and successful business. It is a level of commitment and involvement an employee has towards their organization and its values. An engaged employee feels a sense of purpose and belonging, and has the drive to improve performance for the overall benefit of the organization. Effective engagement of one employee will motivate others, inspiring the entire atmosphere of the workplace to where all employees are focused on their organization s success. According to Gallup s 2013 State of the Global Workplace study, only 13 percent of employees across 142 countries are engaged at work. The study also revealed that 63 percent are disengaged and almost a quarter of all employees are actively disengaged (Gallup, 2013). Engaged employees are crucial to protecting the competitive positioning of an organization. Bolman and Deal (2013) state how a skilled and motivated workforce is a powerful source of competitive advantage (p. 133). However, recognizing a strong and highly motivated workforce that is committed to a company s mission and objectives can be a challenge. • 11. Art And Culture, 1920-1945, An Exhibition Curated By Dr.... Between February 13 and July18, 2015 the Brigham Young University Museum of Art is exhibiting Deco Japan: Shaping Art and Culture, 1920 1945, an exhibition curated by Dr. Kendall Brown. The exhibit was collected in an attempt to detail the cultural transformation that took place in Japan from the Roaring Twenties all the way through the end of World War II. The exhibit displays the tension between the deep national culture and the up and coming cosmopolitan lifestyle. Dr. Brown gathered art of all variations, ranging from paintings to sculptures to ordinary household objects. Deco Art itself is a reflection of changing world cultures. It was born in France post World War I as a sort of marriage between craft motifs and the industrial age, characterized by wealthy and bold looking colors and shapes. The art form is well depicted in the decoration of the Rockefeller Center in New York or any of the art and decor found in the movie The Great Gatsby. This striking form represented the glamour of the age. In a great sense, the period represented a change from conservative to a more liberal view on life. This was no different in Japan. The period observed through the art pieces is one of extreme tension between two very different lifestyles. During this time, many Japanese youth were reaching out to Western Modernism and the allure of the big city and Jazz culture. The Moga, short for Modan Gaaru (modern girl) and the Mobo, the modern boy, were paving the way for a new ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Analysis Of Bon Voyage Visual/Object Analysis Project One Greg Olson s Bon Voyage is a framed print painting. It measures 13.50 x 11.88 . This image was submitted to Fine Art America in 2012. I find Olson created a quite busy, yet intricate image that evokes many different thoughts and feelings as to its meaning. One can make a connection with God, others can say the image represents the expansive imagination of children. Less than a quarter of a bed finds itself sitting in the right section of the frame. The blankets were blue with hints of purple. A singular white pillow lays against the wooden bedframe. Above the bed rests a variety of purple and blue shades blended inside a golden picture frame. The walls containing the room are the same mix of blue but with the lightest part of the image being the middle, with it getting subtly darker as the viewers eyes stray left or right from the center. Just to the left of the bed, a young boy, perhaps six years of age, holding open a sturdy wooden chest for a large array of animals. The image looks to be representing post 2000. The boy was a pale skin tone with rosy cheeks and blond hair. He wore a loose, long sleeve red pajama shirt, accompanied by red pajama pants. He wore a heavier blue robe over his shirt. The robe consisted of two vertical white lines tracing the opening of the robe in the front from top to bottom. There were also horizontal white lines reaching across of the form of the body. Sixth-Grade Math Teacher Seventh grade mathematics teacher Mrs. Megan Ortinau at Van Buren Middle School begins lesson planning by thinking about her learning objectives and standards she would like to cover. She thinks about what she wants her students to take away from the lesson and moves forward from there. Before beginning, Mrs. Ortinau considers what her students have learned in previous grades, and she tries to expand on that as much as possible. She tries to compare the new material to material the students have learned in the past. This can be done by reviewing standards covered in sixth grade as well as communicating with sixth grade teachers. Also, communicating with sixth grade teachers can be useful when trying to determine where students will struggle. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ortinau s favorite teaching strategy is to relate mathematics to students lives or to get them up and moving with activities. I have not been present for one of these activities, however, for example, one Friday she led an activity that was an introduction to their unit on statistics and probability. The students were broken up into small groups and were each handed a small box of Sun Maid raisins. The students had to empty the box and count the number of raisins, which differed from box to box. Then, she created a line plot on a piece of green paper. On the bottom of the paper, there was a number line ranging from twenty five to forty. The students had to glue their raisin box above the number that corresponded with the number of raisins that were in their box. Mrs. Ortinau feels that students remember the lessons more when they are given the opportunity to make the discovery of a rule or formula on their own instead of just being told what it is. This can be seen when Mrs. Ortinau ties in life examples into her lessons. For example, her examples do not talk about Joey buying 700 watermelons, but her examples include a family of four trying to figure out how much change they will have after leaving a 20% tip on their $50 bill. This also creates a purpose for their math by explaining that adults must calculate every single time they leave a tip for a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hitler thought of this bold plan when he recalled how a German hero Frederick the great was facing defeat, Frederick went on a offensive attack at his foe who had superior numbers but the bold moved worked and Hitler thought he could do the same thing. There is enough evidence to bolster the fact that fusion between a proteobacteria and archaebacteria is an integral event in evolution of eukaryotic cells. However, it has also been conjectured that eukaryotic cell may have originated from prokaryotes. As a part of this evolution, many mitochondrial ancestral genes were lost. These are the genes that were no longer required in their new host cell environment. All eukaryotes contain genes of mitochondrial origin in their nuclear genome. However, this is only true for a few genes. Studies indicate that humans and mice have only 35% of mitochondrial gene products that are similar to bacteria Rickettsia. Remaining mitochondrial proteins are derived from either non mitochondrial nuclear genes or as a result of horizontal gene transfer events. Mitochondria have developed different states during the evolution of eukaryotic cell. Aerobic mitochondria retain a small mtDNA while anaerobic mitochondria and hydrogen producing mitochondria alter the function of respiratory chain and also maintain mtDNA. Most animal mitochondrial genome obeys a specific genome composition. However, there are exceptions where variations have been observed. The genes of mtDNA are tightly packed together with minimal non coding DNA. However, one large non coding region called as D loop, containing regulatory elements for ... People should desire to have their public selves match their private selves as closely as possible. A rift between the two causes nothing but pain and suffering for everyone around those people and places a heavy burden on the spirit of the ones responsible. Trust and honesty are essential to our society and the truth should be complimentary, not earned. His answer involves Freud, analysis, and clinically trained listeners to which she replies, You mean that people tell a psychiatrist about their personal lives? (183). Would that be so bad? The key to being completely open and honest is to not have any regrets. Since the past can not be undone, no good can come from regret, people need only to learn from it and move on. If nothing is regretted then no secrets are necessary and honesty comes naturally. This simple idea, commonly practiced, can literally change the world. Rodriguez goes on to say, There are things so deeply personal that they can be revealed only to strangers (185). Why is that? Why is it often easier to speak of personal things with complete strangers? Perhaps Rodriguez believes that strangers do not know him well enough to judge him, and should a judgment come regardless, he does not know them well enough to care. That seems likely. However, this implies that he believes those close to him will judge him and that he is self conscious enough to care. Is it any wonder that Rodriguez has adopted the same insecure and secretive attitude of his mother? Thus, the cycle continues. If Rodriguez would only let go of his regrets, he could get over his perceived loss and draw his family and friends a closer than they have ever been before. In Hunger of Memory, the chapter ... The Life Of A Woman, By Jamaica Kincaid Lucy, the eponymous character of Jamaica Kincaid s second novel, moves from Antigua to New York not in an arbitrary move, but in a calculated effort to explore her latent queer sexuality and gradually escape the gendered labor of her homeland. By working as an au pair for an upper class white woman named Mariah, Lucy trades birthing labor for domestic labor in a move that initially seems lateral, but serves as a potential gateway to freedom from caretaking that would have been inaccessible in Antigua. Unbridled from her mother, the American Lucy has opportunities to explore her sexuality without being deemed promiscuous, and has the ability to live with a woman she can have intimate relations with. Lucy has continuously disobeyed the performative prescriptions of heteronormativity in her life, but, as explained by the work of Rosamund King, her transgressions in Antigua are rendered invisible by a culture that believes women are incapable of sexual agency. America acknowledges Lucy s transgressions against heteronormativity, which lets her explore sexuality and gradually escape the obligations of gendered work. Lucy is escaping the obligations delineated by female performance. Lucy does not begin to experiment or play with queerness and gender in America, but remains unassimilated to beauty standards with the same intensity she had in Antigua. During her upbringing, her gender nonconforming behaviors and ideology went ignored in Antigua because of the common misconception that females are incapable of having sexual agency, intelligence, or usefulness beyond sustenence work and caretaking within the household (King). Lucy is allowed to kiss girls, like her best friend from school, and her does not fret over failing to enjoy acts of intimacy with males. Heteronormativity is not enforced by expectations of female and male pairings, but instead by the gendered division of labor. According to Nancy Hartsock s Feminist Standpoint, this tradition of forcing females into sustenance work should create a collective caregiver essence to women, and Lucy proves the antithesis. It was great risk for English to colonize in America, a foreign and faraway land, from which they did not know what to expect. At that time, America was dominated by Dutch and French traders and a native population not so friendly with most of the settlers. The colonies in Massachusetts and Chesapeake, located at the main crossroads of English, Dutch, and French settlers and natives, play a significant role in the development of the future world power. Although today the east coast enjoys a harmonious and successful lifestyle, in the early days of our Nation s birth, the Massachusetts and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The climate of the Chesapeake was good for farming because of the long growing season and its flat land. In 1619, African slaves were introduced to Chesapeake society. This caused a significant increase in the demand for workers. Also in 1619, the House of Burgess was established to elect representatives for office. The settlers who established on the northern east coast were strictly searching for a land with religious freedom. The Puritans, followers of John Calvin, settled in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. In England, they wished to purify the Anglican Church but were persecuted by King James I. The Puritans believed in well ordered communities and families. They stressed education and the specific roles for males and females. The Pilgrims, or Separatists, founded Plymouth Colony and wrote the Mayflower Compact as a self government document by taking advantage of a loophole in their charter. This was the first self government treaty in North America. They believed that the English church was so corrupt that they had to establish their own independent congregations. As time passed, the New England settlements grew in population and diversity and split into different colonies such as Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and ... Powell was commissioned an officer in the U.S. Army and in 1962 sent to South Vietnam as a military adviser. During a second tour of duty in the late 1960s, he was in a helicopter crash and, despite his own injuries, was able to rescue fellow soldiers from the burning wreckage. For his heroism, he was awarded the Soldier s Medal, one of several commendations earned during his military career. Powell excelled in military and academic pursuits. Although an average student in his early years, he made excellent grades in his 30s while earning his MBA at George Washington University, despite lacking many undergraduate prerequisites when he enrolled. Powell never put chalk marks on the wall that indicated he has to do this. He has tried to do his best at what came his way. He was not without ambition, but driven by ambition. He had a full and active public life. He would like to be remembered as a good soldier who served well, and is well thought of by his fellows. Those fellows include his greatest mentors, the captains, and majors who taught him as a lieutenant and kept him going straight ahead. The less you associate with some people, the more your life will improve. Any time you tolerate mediocrity in others, it increases your mediocrity. An important attribute in successful people is their impatience with negative thinking and negative acting people. As you grow, your associates will change. Some of your friends will not want you to go on. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Regular feedback and proactive counseling help to effectively close information gaps between employees. The Marketing department suffers most from performance feedback at CrysTel. They do not have a strong mentoring process in place and there is an issue with delegation of responsibility here. 360 Degree Feedback provides accurate performance feedback to staff members who receive feedback from a boss, coworkers, and direct reporting staff. Done appropriately, it can boost performance and provide recognition and motivation (Debare, 1997). Because feedback is intimately related to the goal setting process, it involves the same behavioral outcomes: direction, effort, and persistence (Kreitner, 2003). Employees of Technology Development department at CrysTel are encouraged to approach a conflict resolution committee to address unresolved conflicts. Conversely, the Sales and Delivery department only allows conflicts or issues to be raised only during the semi annual performance review. This was indicative of a lower score than the other departments in this area on the climate survey. Multifunctional roles carried out by members of this department causes overlapping efforts and undefined responsibilities. Inadequate communication and teamwork make conflict resolution difficult. Problem solving is the only style that represents a purely win–win orientation (McShane, 2004). Problem solving tries to find a mutually beneficial solution for both ... Hillary and Tenzing took seven weeks to reach the summit on May 29, 1953. Since then about 4,000 climbers have attempted the deadly climb. But Hillary was the very first to do it. Many people think climbing a mountain is an almost vertical climb all the way up. But that is not the case, there are many smaller climbs that go both up and down. The climb is very demanding on the body. You must be in top shape if you expect to summit the mountain. To get all the way up you need oxygen tanks, because the air is too thin once you get near the top. There are many camps up the mountain for climbers to rest for the night or day. But you must acclimatize, or let your body get used to the thin air (Mount Everest.Net). A common method is to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
