The Horrible Conditions of Women in the Nazi Concentration...
There are people out there that go through the most horrible things in life some people might have
broken a leg permanently, others might have lost someone extremely close to them, but these women
have been put through the worse things possible. Some of these women have been separated from
their families drug off, beating, and even murdered. They don t chose this kind of violence like some
people chose to take that jump off of a bridge and break their leg permanently or chose to take that
turn and lose their life right around the corner.

tasting and watery, with a flavor less meat, four times a week and the rest with vegetables. For supper
the prisoners were given close to 300 grams of stale bread and something extra in the shape of about

Country Music Genre Essay
What has influenced a crossroad in two of music s biggest genres Country, Pop? In this paper I m
going to state and defend my position on why I think it s good for both genres. I will also give reasons
on why people believe Hick Hop is bad for both cultures.
Country music has always been inspired by African Americans folk music. Since African Americans
weren t allowed to perform their folk songs white performers would paint their face and sing the
honky tonk. With common theme, and history the only thing that separates the two genres is the
presentation.
But back to current day the first time we witnessed Hick Hop was in 2005 when cowboy troy
collaborated the two genres to create I play chicken with the train. Cowboy troy was African American
which was uncommon, but what stood out more was his way of integrating rap into his music.
Since cowboy troy many artist have followed in his path. This past year the number one hit song by
Florida Georgia Line (Cruise) was remixed by rapper Nelly and it sky rocketed up the music charts.
But nelly wasn t the only rapper to remix country music the other most recent rapper to team up with a
country star was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sociologist Tressie McMillan Cottom is one of the people that doesn t believes in Hick Hop this is
what she had to say in her article The Racial Dynamics of Hick Hop . I think it goes back to country
being fundamentally about a better, simpler time. And that s always a nostalgic feeling, about a better
past. So even when the music is about fun, and isn t on the surface about the past, the genre is about
that. And for white people a lot of talking about the good old times is talking about a pre integration
time a pre Civil Rights time, a time before interracial dating was common. So they ve got to walk a
fine line there between holding up the nostalgia of the genre and tapping into the youth

The Crusades Of The Middle Ages
During the Middle Ages, there was a series of seven wars that lasted seven centuries known as the
Crusades. Each Crusader Army had one major goal: to recapture Jerusalem from the Seljuk Turks, the
land where Jesus had been crucified. Historical narratives often depict the first Crusaders as warriors
and religious heroes because they succeeded in temporarily recapturing the Holy Land. While the
Second Crusade depicted the crusaders as a mass failure when they lost the land they were protecting,
the third crusade portrayed them as religious heroes once again, when Richard the Lionheart almost
captured the Holy Land again. However, the Fourth Crusade shattered all hopes of recapturing
Jerusalem. The Roman Catholic people had high expectations for the war, but it ended horribly when
the crusaders attacked their own allies in Constantinople. This tragedy was a major turning point
during these wars because it changed how the crusaders were viewed. The failure of the 4th crusaders
forces historians to wonder how a well trained army failed to attack their enemies and instead attacked
the very people they wanted to protect. When one examines the issues encountered by the crusaders,
the greediness of the Venetians, the political struggles of Constantinople, and the spread of Greek
cultures, one can better understand the cause and effect of the Fourth crusade.
The war began in a rush by the new young and ambitious pope, Innocent the Third who was
overshadowed by his dream to succeed

Who Is Harley Quinn In The Suicide Squad
The Suicide Squad is a film that was first released in 2016 and directed by Zack Snyder. The movie
revolves on the accomplishment of a government s high risk mission. On the other hand, the mission
is not accomplished by the respected men or women in uniform but incarcerated villains who are
promised commuted sentences for the successful completion of the mission. The movie is particularly
interesting because it involves a group of dangerous characters to accomplish a useful mission. Harley
Quinn is the protagonist of the movie. Quinn is a genius who graduated from college and pursued
masters in criminal psychology. She also did not just finish her studies but graduated top of her class.
Quinn is portrayed as a character that pursues her desires ad works harder to achieve her ambitions.
On the other hand, she appears a less serious character due to her inability to understand the reasons
she seeks a particular goal. For instance, she pursued a degree in psychology because she wanted to
create order in the lives of people whose lives were very chaotic similar to hers in the past. While at

Gun Violence And Mass Shootings In The United States
So when shootings occur, especially mass shootings, the media s framing of crime related issues often
dictates whether public opinion will perceive crime as a concern of individual or social responsibility
(Iyengar cited by Payne 2014). So in other words, should the public be concerned about specific
individuals on a micro level or should everyone be accounted for. In such cases where mass shootings
occur the response to such events from our government is to remind us of the gun violence, to
continue and place more fear into society. They briefly address the mental health system before going
onto the real situation which is the role of gun policies in an attempt to ameliorate the public s

Should Everyone Go To College Research Paper
Whether or not everyone should be required to go to college is an issue that is constantly being
discussed within our society. Some people believe that everyone should be required to go to college
while other people believe that everyone should not be required to go to college. Therefore, in this
paper, I will address the issue of whether or not everyone should be required to go to college. First, I
will explain an argument that shows that everyone should be required to go to college is wrong.
Second, I will present my own argument, showing why that argument is bad. Third, I will conclude
with some further thoughts about whether or not everyone should be required to go to college. As a
result, in this paper, I will argue that not everyone should be required to go to college. As previously

For example, the first premise, which is that college graduates have more and better employment
opportunities, is false. The reason why the first premise is false is that not all college graduates have
more and better employment opportunities. Not all college graduates have more and better
employment opportunities because there are too many workers and not enough jobs. What this means
is that when college graduates are ready to work, they will not have many employment opportunities
due to the limited amount of jobs. For example, there are too many students who are studying law and
once they graduate from college, they will have a difficult amount of time finding a legal job due to a
decrease in demand of lawyers. As a result, law students could face unemployment. However, if a
college student wants to have more and better employment opportunities, then he or she will need to

The Real Macbeth Research Paper
The Real Macbeth
Who really was Macbeth?
We all know the character in William Shakespeare s tragic play Macbeth, but who really was
Macbeth? Was he really the murderous man that ruthlessly killed the people closest to him? Did he
really go insane due to the guilt of his actions? Well, to start at the very beginning, the real Macbeth
was born in 1005 to Finlay MacRory, Mormaer of Moray, and Donalda, daughter of Kenneth II (
Macbeth. BBC News). Macbeth later married Gruoch, granddaughter to Kenneth III, as well as
adopted her son Lulach ( King Macbeth of Scotland ). In 1031, Macbeth succeeded his father, after his
death, and became the Mormaer of Moray ( Macbeth. Britannica School). The real Macbeth was
known as a respectful man with strong ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Macbeth ruled successfully from 1040, after defeating Duncan I, until 1057, when he was killed in
battle ( Macbeth. Bio). Macbeth s reign and defeat were the muse for Shakespeare s tragedy Macbeth
where he partially illustrates the true story of Macbeth.
Macbeth vs. Macbeth
William Shakespeare s play, Macbeth, is historically inaccurate when it comes to the portrayal of the
actual Macbeth. To begin, Macbeth did not brutally murder King Duncan in his sleep, but rather
defeated him in a battle near Elgin Morayshire in August, 1040 (Johnson). It was then that Macbeth
respectably claimed the title of King of the Scots because of his relation to Kenneth MacAlpin (the
first King of the Scots), unlike in Shakespeare s play, where Macbeth is only given the crown because
Duncan s two sons run away ( Macbeth. Bio). Also, the real Macbeth ruled successfully for 17 years,
with both law and order as well as encouraging Christianity ( Macbeth. Bio). Shakespeare compresses
Macbeth s reign to only about a year s time where we see the fictional Macbeth rule aggressively and
kills all potential threats to his crown such as Banquo and Macduff s family

Criticism Of Medea
I cannot find one reason for divorcing theatrics from history why must history wear such a dry cloak
of dullness? I love theatre and you see its profound effects in my writing especially tragedy. History is
dramatized through speeches and conversations among the characters I portray, so much that people
have coined the term tragic history to encapsulate my works, in which I proudly claim ownership.
Euripedes has been thought to be a mediocre playwright but nonetheless determinedly produces more
plays. I have long admired his tenacity in being an innovator amidst a scene that constantly subjects
him to ridicule. With my status as a tragic historian as some may put it, I am in an informed position to
critique this play. My belief is that people accord him with less recognition than he actually deserves,
and I genuinely appreciate the ingenious tragic elements he incorporates to distinguish Medea from
other mainstream tragedies.
As a historian and a Greek citizen, nomos is a concept close to my heart. Before the play, Medea was
portrayed as a ruthless witch renowned for her sorcery and deception. Even though she ... Show more

I have observed a fair bit of tragic motives dominating the play that I have incorporated in my own
writings. The motives span revenge, or tisis to tragic warners

Anne Sexton Old
In the poem Old by Anne Sexton, the narrator is presumably in a hospital setting as she says she is
afraid of needles and tired of rubber sheets , tubes , and faces that I don t know . This choice of setting
is most likely a result of Sexton s own stays in mental hospitals because of her depression and
addiction troubles. After the setting is established the narrator says that she thinks death is starting and
that is starts like a dream . Dreams are seen as a positive thing where people experience their inner
most desires. By equating death to a dream, Sexton is saying that she sees death as a place of peace
and solace from unhappiness. The suicidal tendencies expressed in the poem as well as the narrative
voice remind me of conversations

A Short Note On Alcohol, Tobacco, Marijuana, And Opioids
Julie Thao
HSCD 300 01
Essay 1
February 7th, 2016
1. The four most commonly used substances as described from the course textbook are alcohol,
tobacco, marijuana, and opioids. Alcohol is a translucent liquid in appearance and has a bitter acquired
taste which suppresses brain activity. The intake of alcohol effects the cerebral cortex by ceasing the
inhibition of user and develops a relaxed and more social characteristic in the way the user interacts
with others. As a depressant, the use of alcohol with its relaxing effect causes impairment in cognition
and ability to make effective decisions. Another effect caused by the intake of alcohol are increased
sex drive prior to the frontal lobe of the brain being under the influence of chemicals and damage to
the major brain neurotransmitters, which can lead to impairment of new memories. The effects that
alcohol are accountable for on the body are on the cardiovascular system and massive amounts of
alcohol use leading to intoxication can cause severe damage to the liver including the nervous system
resulting in death (Stevens, P., Smith, R. L., 2013).
Nicotine can be found in tobacco products an example is in cigarettes. It serves as a minor stimulant as
well as a sedative to the central nervous system. The effect nicotine gives off is known as a kick which
is caused by a discharge of epinephrine from the adrenal cortex, that stimulates the central nervous
system and endocrine glands to establish an immediate release

Integration of Women into the Armed Forces Essay
Today s military includes women who train at boot camps, serve on warships and fly combat planes.
Women currently represent fifteen percent of military personnel, and their presence is increasing
among new recruits, up twenty five percent in the A ir Force. Among officers and enlisted personnel,
fifty five percent, or 107, 733 women report some form of sexual harassment. Recent accusations of
sexual misconduct against drill sergeants at the Aberdeen Proving Ground, and a separate case against
Ser geant Major Gene McKinney of the US Army, have some people questioning whether integration
of women in the military has been successful. In addition to sexual harassment, gender integration
issues include ingrained cultural patterns, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Army examination of the drill sergeant selection sys tem found it did not consider a candidate s
maturity or complete a thorough background check. There was no close investigation of instances
where drill sergeants had beaten their wives, which was a particular problem with some of the accused
at the Aberd een Proving Ground. The military s position is that the problems of sexual harassment int
eh military can be attributed to a lack of leadership, detailed in two army investigations (Barry and
Thomas 49; Schitt A1, A19).
Opponents of the military s lack fo leadership reasoning believe the problems lie in how the military
environment facilitates sexual harassment, in addition to making it difficult for women to resist or
report instances of sexual advanes. They fee l the creed of drill sergeants, the power of the military
structure, and the fat that military women can not just walk away from their jobs contributes to drill
sergeants having powers over women that result in sexual harassment. These issues are explain ed by
civilian psychiatrist Major Elsbeth Ritchie in testimony at the court martial of a drill sergeant from the
Aberdeen Proving Grounds. Ritchie explains that fear of sexual harassment in the military is elevated
due to a drill sergeant creed of I am Mother, I am Father, and God to recruits (qtd. Sciolino, pg. A14).
Furthermore, the military structure is so

Ethical Dilemmas In Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is the fifth installment in the Harry Potter series. In this
book J.K. Rowling presents two vastly different characters who have ethical viewpoints that are on
either side of the consequentialist spectrum.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix details the events that occur during Harry s fifth year at
Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This year was bound to be the most difficult yet because
not only does Harry have to worry about Lord Voldemort returning but he also has trouble convincing
other of the impending doom that accompanies Voldemort s arrival. Harry, two friends Ron and
Hermione, along with the Hogwarts Headmaster Professor Albus Dumbledore have spent the better
part of Harry s first four years at Hogwarts not only trying to subdue Voldemort, but also trying to
convince others of what they might soon have to face. Despite the obvious signs of Voldemort s
return, him trying to steal the sorcerer s/philosopher s stone, the opening of the chamber of secrets,
and most recently the death of fellow schoolmate Cedric Diggory the Ministry of Magic, basically the
government of the wizarding world, dismissed them all and gave ridiculous excuses. This is because
Cornelius Fudge, the Minister of Magic, is convinced that Harry and Dumbledore are lying because he
believes that Dumbledore is after his job. Because of Fudge s suspicion the Ministry decides to

Perceptions and personal opinions could differ from the reality. The manner in which a person

Benefits Of A Paid Maternity Leave
Paid maternity leave is a specific period of time allotted by one s employer in which a woman is able
to be on paid leave after having a child. Most, if not all developed countries in the world offer paid
maternity leave to it s expectant women. However, paid maternity leave is considered a privilege, not
a right in the United States and it is not mandated to be offered by employers. Although the length of
paid leave varies from country to country, it is evident that countries around the world see value in
giving women time with their new children while maintaining financial stability. The most common
form of maternity leave around the world includes around 12 weeks of paid leave of some sort which
is usually mandated by the country s government, while the United States is one of three developed
countries in the world who do not have mandated paid maternity leave laws in place. According to the

The Crime Of A Gang
The country we live in has been affected and influenced by something that we now call a Gang .
According, to Dictionary.com a gang is defined as a group of youngsters or adolescents who associate
closely, often exclusively, for social reasons, especially such a group engaging in delinquent behavior.
Since the early 1900 s The United States of America has been affected by gangs. They originated from
the Italian immigrants that were closely related to the Sicilian mafia and others that were located in
New York City, there main motive was to steal and kill to achieve what they wanted. Since the Italian
Mafia in New York City many other ethnicity s have popped up in the gang violence scene. Starting in
the 1950 s and 1960 s Asians, Hispanics, and African Americans began bonding together to form
gangs, and by the time the 1970 s and 1980 s came around there were many national gang alliances
that swept from Los Angles California to New York City and many smaller towns in between. Along
with all the widespread gang activities there was also a lot of illegal drug running throughout the
country for gangs for that they can finance there gang activities. With all the widespread gang activity
involving many different racial ethnicities comes certain hurdles that local and state governments are
going to have to monitor and trouble shoot to figure out the proper recipe for the least amount of
citizens get involved in the violence. This can be a tough task at certain points throughout

How Have Urban Environments Been Made More Sustainable And What More Needs To Be Done for
the Future?
Introduction
The National Geographic Education define an urban environment as, the region surrounding a city.
Urban areas are very developed, meaning there is a density of human structures such as houses,
commercial buildings, roads, bridges, and railways.(1) The International Institute for Sustainable
Development define sustainable development as development that meets the needs of the present
without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. (2) In 2014,
approximately 54%(3) of the total global population live in urban environments. The global urban

The provision of affordable mass transit provides residents of urban areas greater accessibility, which
can provide them with more opportunities and services. Furthermore, with the provision of a
successful transport system, it is highly likely for the number of people using personal vehicles to fall.
This fall in the use of cars would mean that less harmful gases such as Carbon Monoxide, Nitrogen
Oxide and Sulphur Dioxide released and so the natural environment would benefit. With a successful
transport system, accessibility is greatly improved, which can be beneficial economically for a city.
People are able to travel to and from work and the transport can also be used for trading goods and
services. However, current mass transit is unsustainable in urban cities due to its reliance on non
renewable fossil fuels and the pollution it creates has a significant impact on the environment.
Currently, transport is accountable for 20% 25% of world s energy consumption and carbon dioxide
emissions(1) and the current systems mostly run on fossil fuels, which are expected to run out by 2088
according to ecotricity(2). In order to improve the sustainability of an urban area, the transport
systems, which need to be in place for economic and social reasons, need to become greener, cleaner
and run on renewable energy. Current technology is not currently in place to allow for this significant
change and so gradual changes have been introduced in some of the world cities.

Public Rituals In Renaissance Florence Essay
Public ritual in Renaissance Florence involved many actors and took many forms. They could be civic
rituals performed by the citizens of the city, or popular rituals where anyone could participate. They
could also originate in the private sphere and were made available to the public. Public rituals had
various purposes, but most importantly they reproduced hierarchies which conditioned the
organisation of power within the Florentine polity, and ensured civil peace and harmony. This was
particularly important in Renaissance Florence as no one monarch ruled the city, and therefore no
singular figure embodying authority and morality could be looked up to by the people. Keeping law

The portrait of Giuliano de Medici by Raphael, a tempera and oil on canvas, can be dated back to
around 1515 (Fig. 2). The portrait includes a background depiction of Florence, which is revealed
behind a green curtain. As part of a marriage arrangement with Philiberte of Savoy, it is not surprising
that Florence would be depicted as an asset of Giuliano s. However, the picture was painted shortly
after the carnival of 1513, and it highlights the sort of relationship that the Medici family wanted to re
establish with the city and its people, using public rituals to achieve this. Giuliano s gaze is directed to
the part of the curtain revealing the city, thus asserting his status as legimate ruler, watching over the
people of Florence. This painting and the carnival of 1513 convey similar messages. When Girolamo
Macchietti executed a portrait of Lorenzo the Magnificent, he used a similar device (Fig. 3). Lorenzo
stands tall with Florence in the background, and he looks forward benevolently. What the Medicis
attempted to achieve with public rituals, they successfully managed to reflect in their portraiture. With
their backs turned to the city, they would have appeared to contemporaries as larger than life leaders
protecting Florence s interests and history. The link between the two portraits is interesting because

Why Hamlet Needs To Die
Hamlet s view of death morphs through the course of the play as he is faced with various problems
and troubles that force him to deal with life differently. This holds particular significance for a modern
audience who, unlike the predominately Christian audiences of Shakespeare s time, contains an
assortment of perspectives on the subject. For the majority of the play, Hamlet yearns for death, but
there are different tones to his yearning as he confronts death in different circumstances; from his
encounter with his father s ghost to the discovery of his beloved Ophelia dead in the ground, Hamlet
feels an irrepressible urge to end his life. There are obstacles that get in his way, both internal and
external, and Shakespeare s play is an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By behaving provocatively (crazy) and exposing his uncle s perfidy, Hamlet hopes to drive his uncle
murderous once again, so that he can kill him and die a hero. It is ironic that Hamlet uses retribution
against his father s death as the means to reach his own death. His attitude toward the concept of death
at this point is split; he behaves as though his father s death is a bad thing, yet he seems dead set
(pardon the pun) on bringing on his own death through his bizarre and provocative antics.
Hamlet s antics climax with the visiting players putting on a performance of The Murder of Gonzago,
which Hamlet designs in order to catch the conscience of the king (2.2.610). Unfortunately, it
succeeds too well, and Hamlet finds his uncle alone and penitent, and thus unfit to send to Hell. This
seems a peculiar deviation from the Hamlet earlier in the play who abides by the Christian code
against suicide; in desiring not only his uncle s death, but his damnation as well, Hamlet takes on a
decidedly evil and soulless countenance. One might argue that it is his father s ghost who imbues this
diabolical edge to Hamlet, that Hamlet s face to face experience with the grave has tainted his spirit
(Gottschalk 156). Or, one might also reason that Hamlet s continual fixation on death, suicide, the

Literary Theorist Thomas Pavel Takes A New Approach In
Literary theorist Thomas Pavel takes a new approach in interpreting myth in his article Reflections on
the Oedipus Myth. Pavel s main theme throughout the article consists of arguing that while Levi
Strauss s structuralist interpretation of myth is important, it is too simplistic and does not suffice in
giving an accurate analysis alone. He essentially uses Levi Strauss s binaries as framework to
approach the myth, but focuses on details within the oppositions to depict the consequences of action.
In the Aeneid, an epic poem by Virgil, the binary opposition of voluntary associations versus blood
relations is presented through Aeneas s relationship with his father versus his relationship with Dido.
When interpreting the myth solely through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ultimately, Levi Strauss s approach to this myth just focuses on the Roman s embrace of blood
relations over voluntary associations and the demonization of the latter. Of course, this interpretation
fails to mention any sort of detail that would describe the implications Aeneas s choice and his
relationship with Dido leaving the reader with a partial analysis of the myth.
Firstly, the binary fails to recognize the effect that Aeneas s relationship with Dido had on Carthage
and Dido herself. The binary seems to romanticize Aeneas s prioritization of blood relations over
voluntary ones as it leads to the creation of Rome and in turn demonizes Dido s relationship because if
Aeneas had chosen to stay Rome wouldn t have been founded. What the binary doesn t do is discuss
the negative consequences Aeneas s involvement led to. For starters, the relationship between Dido
and Aeneas wasn t just a fleeting, temporary, and miniscule thing at least not for Dido. Juno herself
united them in holy matrimony and Aeneas just disregards their marriage without really caring for the
repercussions (Aeneid Book 4, Line 146). Aeneas didn t even care to confront Dido over his decision
to choose his blood relations over her, he opts for a failed sneak away in the middle of the night.
Eventually, he does leave Carthage also leaving his wife, Dido, in complete and utter distress. Their
relationship meant so much to Dido that

The Effects Of Mass Media And Communication On The Society
Media Message
Introduction
Behavioral sciences play a central role in figuring out the likely effect of mass media and
communication in the society. Different theories and approaches are used to figure this out. This study
refers to the Uses and Gratifications, and Cultivation theories to consider the effect of the media
article below on individuals. The uses and gratification theory argues that consumers of a given media
uses this media to satisfy and fulfill specific desires and needs. On the other hand, cultivation theory
holds that heavy exposure to a certain media can cause an individual to have an illusory perception of
the life reality based on the most consistent and repetitive message that is given in this media (Fourie,
2011).

Imagery In The Perils Of Indifference By Elie Wiesel
Holocaust survivor and writer, Elie Wiesel in his influential speech The Perils of Indifference, claims
that indifference is the root of all evil and inhumanity all pain and all tragedy has resulted because of
indifference. He supports his claim by highlighting the reason for World Wars, Civil Wars,
Assassinations, Bloodbaths, and Tragedy indifference (Wiesel par. 5) . Specifically, Wiesel uses
imagery to paint an image of what the innocent victims of indifference experience. The poor children
[that] perish because of the indifference in a man s soul; until they see the children s pain and agony
and hear their pleas, until one of them dies because of the violence, disease and famine, then one will
notice the dangers of indifference (Wiesel par. 23) . Further, the author flashbacks to past events that
have left humans without a soul. He mentions how one day he woke up in a place of eternal infamy,
Buchenwald. Remembering the day he is captured and the day he is free[ed] (Wiesel par. 1) . The
problem now is that there [i]s no joy in his heart; he becomes a victim of indifference the metal torture
(Wiesel par. 1) . Wiesel s purpose is to inform humanity of the dangers indifference holds in order to
encourage humans to continue to hope for a world without indifference no pain, no horror. He
establishes a critical tone for readers by using stylistic devices such as imagery, flashbacks and
rhetorical questions in order to achieve his purpose that indifference is monstrous and dangerous.
Wiesel s message about the inhumanity of indifference and the importance of resistance is still
relevant today.
1999 marks the year Elie Wiesel presents the White House with his speech The Perils of Indifference.
He argues that to be indifferent is to be inhumane (Wiesel par 11) . Four years later genocide in Darfur
occurs; the first genocide of the 21st century (Darfur Genocide) . This genocide claims the lives of at
least 300,000 innocent people and displaced 3 million more people (Darfur Genocide) . Meanwhile,
according to Sudan Backgrounder, With the international community focused on resolving the

A Brief Note On Osteoporosis And Its Effects
Brundtland refutes (2014), Today Osteoporosis affects more than 75 million people in the United
States, Europe and Japan, and causes more than 2.3 million fractures in the USA and Europe alone .
Overtime Osteoporosis weakens the bones, and bone mass deteriorates. Kling et al. (2014) states, The
definition of Osteoporosis is low bone mass, leading to increased fracture risk . With time bones lose
calcium and phosphorous becoming fragile and susceptible to fractures, especially fractures of the hip,
spine, and wrist. Porosis means spongy, the spongy part of the spine is most at risk to break.
Osteoporosis occur mostly in women as a result of menopause, because of the decrease of estrogen
that occurs within the body. Women are not the only people who can be affected by this disease; Men
who are treated with androgen suppressing drugs for prostate cancer are also prone to Osteoporosis.
Many people seem to think that Osteoporosis occur mainly in elderly women, but that is not the case.
Osteoporosis can also arise during childhood. One of the leading causes of osteoporosis is immobility.
Because of lack of movement the bones grow weaker. Despite the unsystematic pathological fractures
Osteoporosis causes, bones steadily regenerate themselves while still retaining their overall strength (
Anatomy and Physiology, 2014). There are instances of Osteoporosis where no symptoms occur.
Some people discover they have Osteoporosis only after a bone break. This is because the

Dyslexia Effect
A student is in school and the teachers have noticed a student who is struggling. They see that the
student can t read or solve problems as fast or easily as the other students. At home the student s
parents are pushing him to do better even after he says he s doing his best. The teachers then decide to
test him and it s discovered that he has dyslexia. Now the teaches and the parents know that he is
doing his best and just needs a little help, so they get him the help he needs and his grades start to
improve along with his mood. As most individuals know, dyslexia is a learning disability that affects
the brain and the most commonly is known to make those who have dyslexia see words backwards.

The word is made up of two parts, dys meaning not or difficult, and lexia meaning words, reading, or
language. So dyslexia really does mean trouble with words. The most common misunderstandings
about dyslexia is the problem of a letter or word reversals or of letters, words, or sentences dancing
around . It s common in the early stages for writing and reading letters and words backwards and the
reversals of words may or may not indicate an underlying reading problem.Dyslexia is not caused by
poverty, developmental delay, speech or hearing impairments, or learning a second language but will
put a child at more at risk for developing a reading disability. There is two obvious signs a child will
often show. The first sign is they will not be able to read as many of the words in a text by sight as
most average kids are able to. There may be many words they stumble, guess at, or attempt to sound
out. The second sign is they may often show decoding difficulties. This means their attempts to
identify words they do not know will produce many errors and will not be very accurate in using letter
sound relationships in combination with context to identify unknown words. It makes it very difficult
for readers to connect letters and sounds in order to decode. Those with dyslexia will have trouble
comprehending what they read and trouble processing the words on the page. It s common in the early
stages of learning to read and write

Argumentative Essay On Animal Shelter
One in ten dogs born will find a permanent home, therefore what happens to the other nine? The other
nine dogs likely will end up in traditional animal shelters only to succumb to euthanization if not
adopted within a week. A traditional animal shelter must accept, or chooses to accept, any and all
companion animals regardless of health, temperament or space availability, with no limits. (AHeinz57
Pet Rescue) A growing number of people feel that animals should not be exploited by people and that
they should have the same rights as humans.
Stray animals outnumber homeless people five to one. This mainly occurs only because these animals
do not receive the proper security they need. This includes dogs breaking chains, getting out of the

On the other hand if the shelter is not full and if the dog is good and a desirable breed, the execution
date will in return be pushed back, but it will not be for long. Of the 1,000 shelters that replied to the
National Council s survey, 4.3 million animals were handled. In 1997, roughly 64 percent of the total
number of animals that entered shelters were euthanized approximately 2.7 million animals in just
these 1,000 shelters. These animals may have been euthanized due to overcrowding, but may also
have been sick, aggressive, injured or suffering from something else. (americanhumane) Euthanizing
animals in shelters should not be aloud. The precious lives of these animals are lost with no rhyme or
reason. No reason out there can make taking an innocent life away right. These little harmless animals
never did anything to deserve death. They did not hurt anyone. They only die to make room for other
animals and it shall never be the right thing to do. They could find other alternatives to do instead of
killing more helpless animals.
As pet owners it remains our job to keep our pets safe. Allowing animal shelters to kill innocent
adorable animals is wrong. A growing number of people feel that animals should not be exploited by
people and that they should have the same rights as humans. They should not destroy a fragile life
over space. Space is endless, on

Geography Of Australia Essay
Australia The Land Down Under Australia is a continent filled with unique geography, culture, and
animals. As Peter Dodds McCormick proudly states in the Australian national anthem, Our land
abounds in nature s gifts of beauty rich and rare. Filled with its abundant native features, Australia is
the world s sixth largest country. Australia is also the smallest continent and the largest island in the
world. One aspect of Australia is its unique geography. The total population of Australia is estimated
to be twenty two million people. Ann Weil (2014, 7) points in her book Continents: Australia, Much of
Australia is too hot and dry for most people to live. There are few Aboriginal communities in Australia
s desert filled middle. But there is not enough water in the outback for many homes or farms. Almost
all Australians live in big cities close to the ocean. Despite Australia s stereotypical outback, around
eighty percent of Australia s citizens live in towns and cities. The country is divided into two
territories and six states. These states and territories include New South Wales, Victoria, South

In addition, since it is not told from a single person, there is no bias and it enables the narrator to
describe each character in a distinct and unique way. The purpose of utilizing third person omniscient
is to help the audience develop a deeper understanding of the characters and how they function and act
in the Igbo society.
9. Social/Political/Philosophical Agendas or Issues Being Dealt with by the Author(Themes)
One of the biggest agendas of Achebe in writing this novel is to present the point of view of the tribal
Africans. The presence of the Christian missionaries prove this point and Achebe recognized this
problem and how it essentially wiped out the true culture and tradition of the Igbo. He wanted to
display the real problems and lives of the Igbo society without any outside influence. Another
important theme that is conveyed is that being too strict or ambitious with our children cautions us to
behave with prudence as opposed to emotion. Throughout the book, Okonkwo lives by emotion and
his only goal is to come off as a strong fighter. His strict attitude towards Nwoye only causes him to
act against Okonkwo s choice and join the Christian missionaries. Achebe shows that we should be
flexible and raise our kids with judgement and leniency, because if we rule by emotion, it can lead to
our downfall. (As seen in both Okonkwo and

Subject: Proposal for Legalizing Industrial hemp cultivation
The U.S. government, in all its wisdom, treats hemp and marijuana in the same manner. Despite one
offering no psychoactive effects (hemp) and the other offering psychoactive effects (marijuana), both
are against the law. Several states have passed laws to allow the growing of hemp; however the federal
government has stood firm on the ban for decades, and continues to do so. The time has come for the
feds to update obsolete polices and get a dose of reality; it s time to legalize industrial hemp.
Did you know Industrial hemp has been grown on American soil since the beginning of this great
nation? Did you also know that it s only been illegal for over 70 years now? So why now is this
amazing resourceful plant illegal? That s one question that still needs to be answered. In this proposal
I will introduce and explain why industrial hemp needs to be made legal to manufacture and cultivate
in the United States of America.
This plant has huge potential and a growing market in the United States. What makes hemp so
valuable? Its uses are virtually endless. But, here s a start:

Bonobo Intelligence Animal Essay
Why do we say that Bonobo has intelligence? Similar to humans might be a partial reason why
Bonobo is classified as intelligence animal. Many evidences show that Bonobo expresses its
intelligence in the natural world. Bonobo is highly intelligence and physically similar to human
ancestor. Bonobos were discovered in the forest along the Congo River in the Democratic Republic of
Congo in 1927. They are named as the pygmy chimpanzees because of the similarities in their
physical traits with chimpanzees. A lot of people make the same mistake in recognizing Bonobo and
Chimpanzee though they have the same height. However, Bonobo come with leaner body, smaller
head and longer leg than Chimpanzee. Moreover, they physically feature as the closest primates to
human who hold almost 98.6 percent of their DNA comparing with human.(
http://www.nydailynews.com)
Specifically, learning language indicates the most stunning ability about Bonobos intelligence. Human
is regarded as the intelligence animal because we can use language which distinguishes us with others.
Language covers many combinations of words such as grammars, sentences, phrases that only human
can understand. Since I was a child, I usually thought that the world of animal had its own language
that we did not know about it. Although many species can understand what their species want to
transfer in the world of nature by using methods such as waves or signal, but none of them can deliver
it into language. But we know this:

The potato famine in 1844 is a very large piece of Irish history, and it left more than a million people
dead from starvation and disease (Dorothy Denneen Volo 2018). This caused the Irish diaspora, and as
they moved to England the Irish brought with them the broadside ballad tradition that thrived in
England and Ireland in the mid 19th century , which was songs about sailors and soldiers, merchants
and innkeepers that reflected the newly industrialized British Isles (Cohen, Norm, Kevin S. Fontenot,
Steven Loza, Richard March, Paul F. Wells and Maria Williams 2018). This left an impact, and now
Irish musical styles can be found in many English ballad tunes. This isn t however, a form of
traditional Irish folk music, actually much of the Irish music known in America in the late 18th and
early 19th centuries was music that had roots in oral tradition, but which had been processed by
classically trained composers and arrangers (Norm Cohen 2014). The Irish weren t fully accepted in
England and were discriminated against, and when the English passed laws forbidding the Irish to
speak their own language, they turned to music to help them remember important events and hold on
to their heritage (Dorothy Denneen Volo 2018). Today, that discrimination is gone, and Ireland gained
their independence in 1922. Now, Ireland s finest musicians play

  • 4. Country Music Genre Essay What has influenced a crossroad in two of music s biggest genres Country, Pop? In this paper I m going to state and defend my position on why I think it s good for both genres. I will also give reasons on why people believe Hick Hop is bad for both cultures. Country music has always been inspired by African Americans folk music. Since African Americans weren t allowed to perform their folk songs white performers would paint their face and sing the honky tonk. With common theme, and history the only thing that separates the two genres is the presentation. But back to current day the first time we witnessed Hick Hop was in 2005 when cowboy troy collaborated the two genres to create I play chicken with the train. Cowboy troy was African American which was uncommon, but what stood out more was his way of integrating rap into his music. Since cowboy troy many artist have followed in his path. This past year the number one hit song by Florida Georgia Line (Cruise) was remixed by rapper Nelly and it sky rocketed up the music charts. But nelly wasn t the only rapper to remix country music the other most recent rapper to team up with a country star was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sociologist Tressie McMillan Cottom is one of the people that doesn t believes in Hick Hop this is what she had to say in her article The Racial Dynamics of Hick Hop . I think it goes back to country being fundamentally about a better, simpler time. And that s always a nostalgic feeling, about a better past. So even when the music is about fun, and isn t on the surface about the past, the genre is about that. And for white people a lot of talking about the good old times is talking about a pre integration time a pre Civil Rights time, a time before interracial dating was common. So they ve got to walk a fine line there between holding up the nostalgia of the genre and tapping into the youth ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Crusades Of The Middle Ages During the Middle Ages, there was a series of seven wars that lasted seven centuries known as the Crusades. Each Crusader Army had one major goal: to recapture Jerusalem from the Seljuk Turks, the land where Jesus had been crucified. Historical narratives often depict the first Crusaders as warriors and religious heroes because they succeeded in temporarily recapturing the Holy Land. While the Second Crusade depicted the crusaders as a mass failure when they lost the land they were protecting, the third crusade portrayed them as religious heroes once again, when Richard the Lionheart almost captured the Holy Land again. However, the Fourth Crusade shattered all hopes of recapturing Jerusalem. The Roman Catholic people had high expectations for the war, but it ended horribly when the crusaders attacked their own allies in Constantinople. This tragedy was a major turning point during these wars because it changed how the crusaders were viewed. The failure of the 4th crusaders forces historians to wonder how a well trained army failed to attack their enemies and instead attacked the very people they wanted to protect. When one examines the issues encountered by the crusaders, the greediness of the Venetians, the political struggles of Constantinople, and the spread of Greek cultures, one can better understand the cause and effect of the Fourth crusade. The war began in a rush by the new young and ambitious pope, Innocent the Third who was overshadowed by his dream to succeed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Who Is Harley Quinn In The Suicide Squad The Suicide Squad is a film that was first released in 2016 and directed by Zack Snyder. The movie revolves on the accomplishment of a government s high risk mission. On the other hand, the mission is not accomplished by the respected men or women in uniform but incarcerated villains who are promised commuted sentences for the successful completion of the mission. The movie is particularly interesting because it involves a group of dangerous characters to accomplish a useful mission. Harley Quinn is the protagonist of the movie. Quinn is a genius who graduated from college and pursued masters in criminal psychology. She also did not just finish her studies but graduated top of her class. Quinn is portrayed as a character that pursues her desires ad works harder to achieve her ambitions. On the other hand, she appears a less serious character due to her inability to understand the reasons she seeks a particular goal. For instance, she pursued a degree in psychology because she wanted to create order in the lives of people whose lives were very chaotic similar to hers in the past. While at the ... • 7. Gun Violence And Mass Shootings In The United States So when shootings occur, especially mass shootings, the media s framing of crime related issues often dictates whether public opinion will perceive crime as a concern of individual or social responsibility (Iyengar cited by Payne 2014). So in other words, should the public be concerned about specific individuals on a micro level or should everyone be accounted for. In such cases where mass shootings occur the response to such events from our government is to remind us of the gun violence, to continue and place more fear into society. They briefly address the mental health system before going onto the real situation which is the role of gun policies in an attempt to ameliorate the public s growing demand of gun reform in the aftermath of ... • 8. Should Everyone Go To College Research Paper Whether or not everyone should be required to go to college is an issue that is constantly being discussed within our society. Some people believe that everyone should be required to go to college while other people believe that everyone should not be required to go to college. Therefore, in this paper, I will address the issue of whether or not everyone should be required to go to college. First, I will explain an argument that shows that everyone should be required to go to college is wrong. Second, I will present my own argument, showing why that argument is bad. Third, I will conclude with some further thoughts about whether or not everyone should be required to go to college. As a result, in this paper, I will argue that not everyone should be required to go to college. As previously stated, whether or not everyone should be required to go ... The reason why the first premise is false is that not all college graduates have more and better employment opportunities. Not all college graduates have more and better employment opportunities because there are too many workers and not enough jobs. What this means is that when college graduates are ready to work, they will not have many employment opportunities due to the limited amount of jobs. For example, there are too many students who are studying law and once they graduate from college, they will have a difficult amount of time finding a legal job due to a decrease in demand of lawyers. As a result, law students could face unemployment. However, if a college student wants to have more and better employment opportunities, then he or she will need to go to college and find a career, which has a high employment ... • 9. The Real Macbeth Research Paper The Real Macbeth Who really was Macbeth? We all know the character in William Shakespeare s tragic play Macbeth, but who really was Macbeth? Was he really the murderous man that ruthlessly killed the people closest to him? Did he really go insane due to the guilt of his actions? Well, to start at the very beginning, the real Macbeth was born in 1005 to Finlay MacRory, Mormaer of Moray, and Donalda, daughter of Kenneth II ( Macbeth. BBC News). Macbeth later married Gruoch, granddaughter to Kenneth III, as well as adopted her son Lulach ( King Macbeth of Scotland ). In 1031, Macbeth succeeded his father, after his death, and became the Mormaer of Moray ( Macbeth. Britannica School). The real Macbeth was known as a respectful man with strong ... Macbeth s reign and defeat were the muse for Shakespeare s tragedy Macbeth where he partially illustrates the true story of Macbeth. Macbeth vs. Macbeth William Shakespeare s play, Macbeth, is historically inaccurate when it comes to the portrayal of the actual Macbeth. To begin, Macbeth did not brutally murder King Duncan in his sleep, but rather defeated him in a battle near Elgin Morayshire in August, 1040 (Johnson). It was then that Macbeth respectably claimed the title of King of the Scots because of his relation to Kenneth MacAlpin (the first King of the Scots), unlike in Shakespeare s play, where Macbeth is only given the crown because Duncan s two sons run away ( Macbeth. Bio). Also, the real Macbeth ruled successfully for 17 years, with both law and order as well as encouraging Christianity ( Macbeth. Bio). Shakespeare compresses Macbeth s reign to only about a year s time where we see the fictional Macbeth rule aggressively and kills all potential threats to his crown such as Banquo and Macduff s family ... • 10. Criticism Of Medea I cannot find one reason for divorcing theatrics from history why must history wear such a dry cloak of dullness? I love theatre and you see its profound effects in my writing especially tragedy. History is dramatized through speeches and conversations among the characters I portray, so much that people have coined the term tragic history to encapsulate my works, in which I proudly claim ownership. Euripedes has been thought to be a mediocre playwright but nonetheless determinedly produces more plays. I have long admired his tenacity in being an innovator amidst a scene that constantly subjects him to ridicule. With my status as a tragic historian as some may put it, I am in an informed position to critique this play. My belief is that people accord him with less recognition than he actually deserves, and I genuinely appreciate the ingenious tragic elements he incorporates to distinguish Medea from other mainstream tragedies. As a historian and a Greek citizen, nomos is a concept close to my heart. Before the play, Medea was portrayed as a ruthless witch renowned for her sorcery and deception. Even though she ... This only mounts her fury towards him, and readers, fully aware of Medea s historical barbarism, are mentally prepared foreshadowing for Medea s heinous revenge against his treachery (tragic end). • 11. Anne Sexton Old In the poem Old by Anne Sexton, the narrator is presumably in a hospital setting as she says she is afraid of needles and tired of rubber sheets , tubes , and faces that I don t know . This choice of setting is most likely a result of Sexton s own stays in mental hospitals because of her depression and addiction troubles. After the setting is established the narrator says that she thinks death is starting and that is starts like a dream . Dreams are seen as a positive thing where people experience their inner most desires. By equating death to a dream, Sexton is saying that she sees death as a place of peace and solace from unhappiness. • 12. A Short Note On Alcohol, Tobacco, Marijuana, And Opioids Julie Thao HSCD 300 01 Essay 1 February 7th, 2016 1. The four most commonly used substances as described from the course textbook are alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, and opioids. Alcohol is a translucent liquid in appearance and has a bitter acquired taste which suppresses brain activity. The intake of alcohol effects the cerebral cortex by ceasing the inhibition of user and develops a relaxed and more social characteristic in the way the user interacts with others. As a depressant, the use of alcohol with its relaxing effect causes impairment in cognition and ability to make effective decisions. Another effect caused by the intake of alcohol are increased sex drive prior to the frontal lobe of the brain being under the influence of chemicals and damage to the major brain neurotransmitters, which can lead to impairment of new memories. The effects that alcohol are accountable for on the body are on the cardiovascular system and massive amounts of alcohol use leading to intoxication can cause severe damage to the liver including the nervous system resulting in death (Stevens, P., Smith, R. L., 2013). Nicotine can be found in tobacco products an example is in cigarettes. It serves as a minor stimulant as well as a sedative to the central nervous system. The effect nicotine gives off is known as a kick which is caused by a discharge of epinephrine from the adrenal cortex, that stimulates the central nervous system and endocrine glands to establish an immediate release ... The military s position is that the problems of sexual harassment int eh military can be attributed to a lack of leadership, detailed in two army investigations (Barry and Thomas 49; Schitt A1, A19). Opponents of the military s lack fo leadership reasoning believe the problems lie in how the military environment facilitates sexual harassment, in addition to making it difficult for women to resist or report instances of sexual advanes. They fee l the creed of drill sergeants, the power of the military structure, and the fat that military women can not just walk away from their jobs contributes to drill sergeants having powers over women that result in sexual harassment. These issues are explain ed by civilian psychiatrist Major Elsbeth Ritchie in testimony at the court martial of a drill sergeant from the Aberdeen Proving Grounds. Ritchie explains that fear of sexual harassment in the military is elevated due to a drill sergeant creed of I am Mother, I am Father, and God to recruits (qtd. Sciolino, pg. A14). They could be civic rituals performed by the citizens of the city, or popular rituals where anyone could participate. They could also originate in the private sphere and were made available to the public. Public rituals had various purposes, but most importantly they reproduced hierarchies which conditioned the organisation of power within the Florentine polity, and ensured civil peace and harmony. This was particularly important in Renaissance Florence as no one monarch ruled the city, and therefore no singular figure embodying authority and morality could be looked up to by the people. The portrait of Giuliano de Medici by Raphael, a tempera and oil on canvas, can be dated back to around 1515 (Fig. 2). The portrait includes a background depiction of Florence, which is revealed behind a green curtain. As part of a marriage arrangement with Philiberte of Savoy, it is not surprising that Florence would be depicted as an asset of Giuliano s. However, the picture was painted shortly after the carnival of 1513, and it highlights the sort of relationship that the Medici family wanted to re establish with the city and its people, using public rituals to achieve this. Giuliano s gaze is directed to the part of the curtain revealing the city, thus asserting his status as legimate ruler, watching over the people of Florence. This painting and the carnival of 1513 convey similar messages. When Girolamo Macchietti executed a portrait of Lorenzo the Magnificent, he used a similar device (Fig. 3). Lorenzo stands tall with Florence in the background, and he looks forward benevolently. What the Medicis attempted to achieve with public rituals, they successfully managed to reflect in their portraiture. This holds particular significance for a modern audience who, unlike the predominately Christian audiences of Shakespeare s time, contains an assortment of perspectives on the subject. For the majority of the play, Hamlet yearns for death, but there are different tones to his yearning as he confronts death in different circumstances; from his encounter with his father s ghost to the discovery of his beloved Ophelia dead in the ground, Hamlet feels an irrepressible urge to end his life. By behaving provocatively (crazy) and exposing his uncle s perfidy, Hamlet hopes to drive his uncle murderous once again, so that he can kill him and die a hero. It is ironic that Hamlet uses retribution against his father s death as the means to reach his own death. His attitude toward the concept of death at this point is split; he behaves as though his father s death is a bad thing, yet he seems dead set (pardon the pun) on bringing on his own death through his bizarre and provocative antics. Hamlet s antics climax with the visiting players putting on a performance of The Murder of Gonzago, which Hamlet designs in order to catch the conscience of the king (2.2.610). Unfortunately, it succeeds too well, and Hamlet finds his uncle alone and penitent, and thus unfit to send to Hell. This seems a peculiar deviation from the Hamlet earlier in the play who abides by the Christian code against suicide; in desiring not only his uncle s death, but his damnation as well, Hamlet takes on a decidedly evil and soulless countenance. One might argue that it is his father s ghost who imbues this diabolical edge to Hamlet, that Hamlet s face to face experience with the grave has tainted his spirit (Gottschalk 156). Pavel s main theme throughout the article consists of arguing that while Levi Strauss s structuralist interpretation of myth is important, it is too simplistic and does not suffice in giving an accurate analysis alone. He essentially uses Levi Strauss s binaries as framework to approach the myth, but focuses on details within the oppositions to depict the consequences of action. Ultimately, Levi Strauss s approach to this myth just focuses on the Roman s embrace of blood relations over voluntary associations and the demonization of the latter. Of course, this interpretation fails to mention any sort of detail that would describe the implications Aeneas s choice and his relationship with Dido leaving the reader with a partial analysis of the myth. Firstly, the binary fails to recognize the effect that Aeneas s relationship with Dido had on Carthage and Dido herself. The binary seems to romanticize Aeneas s prioritization of blood relations over voluntary ones as it leads to the creation of Rome and in turn demonizes Dido s relationship because if Aeneas had chosen to stay Rome wouldn t have been founded. What the binary doesn t do is discuss the negative consequences Aeneas s involvement led to. For starters, the relationship between Dido and Aeneas wasn t just a fleeting, temporary, and miniscule thing at least not for Dido. Juno herself united them in holy matrimony and Aeneas just disregards their marriage without really caring for the repercussions (Aeneid Book 4, Line 146). Aeneas didn t even care to confront Dido over his decision to choose his blood relations over her, he opts for a failed sneak away in the middle of the night. He supports his claim by highlighting the reason for World Wars, Civil Wars, Assassinations, Bloodbaths, and Tragedy indifference (Wiesel par. 5) . Specifically, Wiesel uses imagery to paint an image of what the innocent victims of indifference experience. The poor children [that] perish because of the indifference in a man s soul; until they see the children s pain and agony and hear their pleas, until one of them dies because of the violence, disease and famine, then one will notice the dangers of indifference (Wiesel par. 23) .
