2. Strategic Planning
Strategic planning is
an organization's process of
defining its strategy, or direction,
and making decisions on
allocating its resources to pursue
this strategy. It may also extend
to control mechanisms for
guiding the implementation of
the strategy.

3. Paradigm
Paradigm is basically a set of ideas, usually
unwritten. That people have learned and
developed through education and
experiences that defines the conventional
methods about the rules of nature and life
( J.F. Cali, 1993).

4. Paradigm Shift
 A paradigm shift (also radical
theory change),a concept
identified by the American
physicist and
philosopher Thomas Kuhn (1922–
1996), is a fundamental change in
the
basic concepts and experimental
practices of a scientific discipline.
Kuhn contrasted these shifts,
which characterize a scientific
revolution, to the activity
of normal science, which he
described as scientific work done
within a prevailing framework (or
paradigm)

5. Paradigm Shift
To better understand strategic planning and be able
to formulate a strategic plan that is realistic,
responsive, effective and achievable, managers and
planners need a shift in paradigm. Paradigm is
basically a set of ideas, usually unwritten, that people
have learned and developed through education and
experiences that defines the conventional methods
about the rules and nature and life (Cali, 1993).

6. A paradigm acts as a mental filter or
sieving device that delimits the way we
think about things by erecting a set of
boundary conditions that are often
perceived than real. Paradigm shift
requires disassembling our old
conventional of seeing, doing, thinking,
assessing a thing because they no longer
apply with reality and the present.

broad, flexible, eclectic, creative
and futuristic mental framework
