Borrowed from Karen Thompson, this slidecast shows how to create a screencast that justifies design choices when desigining a PSA for a business writing class.
Slides I prepared for a training session with Political Economy students in 2005.
Quick facts:
- This was the first presentation I made using Keynote 2 (yes, the irony of using Keynote to teach people to use Powerpoint is not lost on me).
- The actual presentation used plenty of animations (cube in/cube out effects, etc.). This was when I was fond of using complex animations to "wow" the audience. Now, I prefer simple animations, sometimes even just slide transitions.
- This was the first presentation I made incorporating live hyperlinks from slide to slide.
- The idea for the layout was borrowed from the demo presentation accompanying iWork. I would use the navigation bar template as my "default" template in future presentations.

Beyond the HUD - User Interfaces for Increased Player Immersion in FPS GamesElectronic Arts / DICE
Â
Master thesis from Chalmers University of Technology done at DICE in 2009.
Full thesis available on: http://publications.dice.se and http://publications.lib.chalmers.se/cpl/record/index.xsql?pubid=111921
The concept of immersion has been adapted by game developers and game critics to describe a deep and positive game experience. While the definition of this concept varies, the user interface of the game is often said to affect the degree to which players can immerse themselves in a game experience. In cooperation with game developer DICE, this master thesis aims to investigate how the notion of immersion affects, and is affected by, the user interface (UI) of first-person shooter games, with the ultimate purpose of delivering user interface guidelines for increased immersion. By conducting a study of contemporary first-person shooter (FPS) games, the current state of user interfaces in FPS games is documented. With the addition of a subjective study of FPS games as well as games of other genres, a design space for UI designers is mapped out in order to provide a structure upon which the guidelines can be built. A literature study of various resources within the fields of ludology, cognitive science and media studies is conducted in order to gain increased understanding of what immersion is and its relation to the game experience. The knowledge acquired is used to formulate various hypotheses of how player immersion is connected to the user interfaces of FPS games. These hypotheses are evaluated by user studies and user tests. Looking at the results of the user tests and the literature study, a final definition of immersion is proposed, upon which the guidelines are based. The first guideline, Know Your Design Space, explains the user interface design space of FPS games and encourages UI designers to look at it as a set of tools. Know Your Game discusses how the competitive focus of the game and the game fiction affects the user interface from an immersion point of view. The guideline Establish Player Agency focuses on how the player can be transferred into the game world by acting within it as an agent rather than simply a player of the game. Finally, Strengthen the Player-Avatar Perceptual Link suggests how the user interface can link the player closer to his in-game character on a perceptual level.

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Â
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.

Memorandum Of Association Constitution of Company.pptseri bangash
Â
www.seribangash.com
A Memorandum of Association (MOA) is a legal document that outlines the fundamental principles and objectives upon which a company operates. It serves as the company's charter or constitution and defines the scope of its activities. Here's a detailed note on the MOA:
Contents of Memorandum of Association:
Name Clause: This clause states the name of the company, which should end with words like "Limited" or "Ltd." for a public limited company and "Private Limited" or "Pvt. Ltd." for a private limited company.
https://seribangash.com/article-of-association-is-legal-doc-of-company/
Registered Office Clause: It specifies the location where the company's registered office is situated. This office is where all official communications and notices are sent.
Objective Clause: This clause delineates the main objectives for which the company is formed. It's important to define these objectives clearly, as the company cannot undertake activities beyond those mentioned in this clause.
www.seribangash.com
Liability Clause: It outlines the extent of liability of the company's members. In the case of companies limited by shares, the liability of members is limited to the amount unpaid on their shares. For companies limited by guarantee, members' liability is limited to the amount they undertake to contribute if the company is wound up.

Capital Clause: This clause specifies the authorized capital of the company, i.e., the maximum amount of share capital the company is authorized to issue. It also mentions the division of this capital into shares and their respective nominal value.
Association Clause: It simply states that the subscribers wish to form a company and agree to become members of it, in accordance with the terms of the MOA.
Importance of Memorandum of Association:
Legal Requirement: The MOA is a legal requirement for the formation of a company. It must be filed with the Registrar of Companies during the incorporation process.
Constitutional Document: It serves as the company's constitutional document, defining its scope, powers, and limitations.
Protection of Members: It protects the interests of the company's members by clearly defining the objectives and limiting their liability.
External Communication: It provides clarity to external parties, such as investors, creditors, and regulatory authorities, regarding the company's objectives and powers.
https://seribangash.com/difference-public-and-private-company-law/
Binding Authority: The company and its members are bound by the provisions of the MOA. Any action taken beyond its scope may be considered ultra vires (beyond the powers) of the company and therefore void.
Amendment of MOA:
While the MOA lays down the company's fundamental principles, it is not entirely immutable. It can be amended, but only under specific circumstances and in compliance with legal procedures. Amendments typically require shareholder

Unveiling the Secrets How Does Generative AI Work.pdfSam H
Â
At its core, generative artificial intelligence relies on the concept of generative models, which serve as engines that churn out entirely new data resembling their training data. It is like a sculptor who has studied so many forms found in nature and then uses this knowledge to create sculptures from his imagination that have never been seen before anywhere else. If taken to cyberspace, gans work almost the same way.
2. About Screencasts
2
Screencasts capture all or a portion of a computer
screen while the author narrates what the viewer is
seeing in a voice-over audio.
Screencasts are used by businesses and
organizations for a wide variety of purposes and
viewed by both internal and external audiences.
3. How to create your screencast.
• You need a microphone, and the one in your computer
will be fine for this project.
• Your screencast must be hosted on a site that allows
users to play it without having to download the file.
• This course recommends using Screencast-O-Matic.
• It’s free, easy to use, and will host your file.
3
4. • I do not accept video files (mp4, wmv etc.) in the bblearn drop box.
• Here’s why. You are practicing how to create and share these types
of files as they are shared in workplace settings.
• So, if you choose to create video file on your computer, be certain it
is uploaded to a host site and will play without a user needing to
download the file.
• Video files uploaded to bblearn will not be graded nor earn credit for
this part of the project.
4
5. Screencast:
subject, audience, and purpose.
• The subject of your screencast will be a design
justification for your billboard or poster.
• The audience will be your direct supervisor at
Kirchmeier Industries, Barb Kirchmeier.
• Your purpose will be to clearly connect your
design choices to principles of graphic design
and visual rhetoric.
5
6. • You are practicing how to articulate design choices
using the language of graphic design.
• Even should you never design another billboard or
poster, the transferable skill with this part of the project
is being able to communicate in professional
environments where visual design needs are being
discussed/planned.
6
7. To make those connections clear, write a script and practice
it.
7
The goal is not to try to
sound like a professional
broadcaster, but to practice
and develop clarity in your
presentation speaking style.
8. As you work on your script.
• Use the sketch and notes you created when
designing the layout of the billboard or poster.
• Justify the choices you made by connecting to
those principles of graphic design covered in
course materials.
8
9. As you work on your script continued.
• Briefly define each design principle you have
applied and then explain how you applied it.
• Here’s an example of how a student might justify
color choices:
• According to color theory, red is associated with danger,
and I wanted the audience to be aware of the dangers of
not-vaccinating their children, so I chose this color
[explain where the color was used].
9
10. Writing a clear and focused script will help
you avoid this problem:
10
Rambling.
Ramblers often just focus on talking about the purpose of the billboard or
poster but fail to justify design choices or justify these by saying what the
student thought looked good, and/or naming a graphic design principle and
then just saying stuff like “as you can see I applied the principle of color
theory in my color choices.” Avoid these problems.
11. Continue to apply the principles of effective prose style when
writing the script but adapt these for the ear by keeping
sentences short.
11
You should be able to say
each sentence in your script
in a single breath.
12. Your script will need:
12
Introduction
About 10 seconds.
Key Points
Up to 3
minutes
Conclusion
About 10 seconds.
Timing
Introduce yourself and state what
is in the screencast.
The key points of the
screencast should be logically
structured and clearly move
between one part of the
billboard or poster to another
as you justify design choices.
Keep the conclusion
simple, and remember
to thank the audience.
13. 13
Watch the tutorial under Tools and Resources to learn how to use this
screencapture tool.
14. Do a test recording.
• Close all other programs and browser windows to
ensure you have enough memory.
• If the test recording fails, follow the troubleshooting
steps under Tools & Resources.
14
15. 15
Open your file, launch the screencapture tool, choose a
standard size, and position the tool over your file.
I opened my file in PPT and set
the slide background to black.
That’s because my desktop has
wallpaper that would interfere
with the screencast.
It’s difficult to get a crystal clear screencast
unless you use a video editor. So, your goal is
just to make the screencast as clear as you can
without using a video editor.
Of course, if you have that level of skill and
want to use an editor, it’s fine to do that.
16. 16
Make a short recording, and then play it back to see if the
screen size is clear enough. You may need to make a few
adjustments.
17. Delivery: continue to apply these concepts
when recording your voice-over narration.
17
• Vocal variety: pitch, tone, volume,
and rate.
• Pausing.
• Diction

speaking style can be found under
