For a while, I've had a vision of banking as a web service based upon widgets of functionality. This is becoming vital if banks are to fit into the semantic web. All of this is explained in my blog entry: http://thefinanser.co.uk/fsclub/2009/02/baas-banking-as-a-service-presentation.html.
Throughout the presentation there are links to the relevant entries here that explains it all too. Feel free to send me any comments or thoughts.
And, for lots more on this, have a look at my directory of social finance http://thefinanser.co.uk/fsclub/2009/04/a-directory-of-social-finance.html.
KYC automation using artificial intelligence (AI)EY
Knowing Your Customer (KYC) is the process of understanding and validating the authenticity of the business’ potential clients and risk that it might impose onto the relationship. KYC solutions enable access to detailed information ensuring the credibility of clients and expediting the client onboarding. KYC solution also automate previously manual processes and reduce repetition, saving time and money for the firm.
The KYC solution streamlines the KYC process by automating the processing of customer data, sorting the data by type and storing it in a data lake. The solution reduces clutter and maintains lean operations by centralizing KYC data for any branch to query from. The solution increases operational efficiency and reduces overhead manpower cost incurred in processing consumer data manually. The time to process a client’s information is reduced from 18 minutes to 1 minute by leveraging on automation.

Core Banking Transformation: Solutions to Standardize Processes and Cut CostsIBM Banking

Today's customers are fundamentally different from customers of past years as they are harder to acquire, retain, and delight because of the explosion in digital technologies consumers use day to day. New digital experiences are forcing banks to play catch-up and match the innovative and engaging interactions and products — such as mobile payments — that non-banks are offering to those same customers. This IDC research, sponsored by TCS Digital Software & Solutions Group, revealed three key themes for digital transformation in the banking industry.

Digital financial services (DFS) are rapidly rewriting the landscape of financial access in developing markets. This deck is meant to serve as a primer to the DFS space by explaining the basic concepts and strengths of DFS models; showing how they are so successful because they correspond to the weaknesses of traditional delivery; and showcasing some of the next generation of DFS products in order to illustrate that this is just the beginning of a cross-sectoral revolution of access.

Central banks have a mandate for monetary and financial stability in their jurisdictions and, explicitly or

banks carry out their public policy objectives is providing the safest form of money to banks, businesses

Business requirements are critical to any project. Recent studies show that 70% of organisations fail to gather business requirements well. What is worse is that poor requirements can lead a project to over spend its original budget by 95%.
Business Intelligence and Performance Management projects are no different. This session will provide a series of tips, techniques and ideas on how you can discover, analyse, understand and document your business requirements for your BI and PM projects. This session will also touch on specific issues, hurdles and obstacle that occur for a typical BI or PM project
• The importance of business requirements and a well defined business requirements process
• Understanding the difference between a “wish-list” or vision and business requirements
• The need and benefits of having a business traceability matrix

Mobile Convention Amsterdam 2012 - Managing Mobile ChaosVirtual Affairs

Search and Society: Reimagining Information Access for Radical FuturesBhaskar Mitra
The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.
